2:1
ደቂቅየ ዘንተ እጽሕፍ ለክሙ ከመ ኢተአበሱ ወእመኒ ቦ ዘአበሰ ጰራቅሊጦስ ብነ ኀበ አብ ወኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ጻድቅ ውእቱ ይኅድግ ለነ ኀጣውኢነ።
我小子們哪，我將這些話寫給你們，是要叫你們不犯罪。若有人犯罪，在父那裏我們有一位中保，就是那義者耶穌基督。
My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.
2:2
ወአኮ በእንቲኣነ ባሕቲቱ አላ በእንተ ዓለምኒ።
他為我們的罪作了挽回祭，不是單為我們的罪，也是為普天下人的罪。
And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
2:3
ወበእንተዝ ነአምር ከመ አእመርናሁ ለእመ ዐቀብነ ትእዛዞ።
我們若遵守他的誡命，就曉得是認識他。
This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commandments.
2:4
ወዘሰ ይብል አአምሮ ወኢየዐቅብ ትእዛዞ ሐሳዊ ውእቱ ወአልቦ ጽድቀ እግዚአብሔር በኀቤሁ።
人若說「我認識他」，卻不遵守他的誡命，便是說謊話的，真理也不在他心裏了。
One who says, “I know him,” and doesn’t keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth isn’t in him.
2:5
ወዘሰ የዐቅብ ቃሎ አማን ፍቅረ እግዚአብሔር ፍጹም ላዕሌሁ ወበዝንቱ ነአምር ከመ ቦቱ ሀለውነ።
凡遵守主道的，愛上帝的心在他裏面實在是完全的。從此，我們知道我們是在主裏面。
But God’s love has most certainly been perfected in whoever keeps his word. This is how we know that we are in him:
2:6
ወዘሰ ይብል ቦቱ ሀለውኩ መፍትው ይሑር በከመ ሖረ ዝክቱ።
人若說他住在主裏面，就該自己照主所行的去行。
he who says he remains in him ought himself also to walk just like he walked.
2:7
አኀዊነ አኮ ትእዛዘ ሐዲሰ ዘእጽሕፍ ለክሙ አላ ትእዛዘ ብሊተ እንተ ብክሙ ትካት እስመ ትእዛዝ ብሉይ ውእቱ ዝንቱ ቃል ዘሰማዕክሙ።
親愛的弟兄啊，我寫給你們的，不是一條新命令，乃是你們從起初所受的舊命令；這舊命令就是你們所聽見的道。
Brothers, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
2:8
ወካዕበ ትእዛዘ ሐዲሰ እጽሕፍ ለክሙ ወውእቱ እሙን ብክሙ ወአንትሙኒ ቦቱ እስመ ኀለፈት ጽልመት ወብርሃን ዘበአማን ወድአ አስተርአየ።
再者，我寫給你們的，是一條新命令，在主是真的，在你們也是真的；因為黑暗漸漸過去，真光已經照耀。
Again, I write a new commandment to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light already shines.
2:9
ወዘሰ ይብል ውስተ ብርሃን ሀሎኩ ወይጸልእ ቢጾ ሐሳዊ ውእቱ ወውስተ ጽልመት ሀሎ እስከ ይእዜ።
人若說自己在光明中，卻恨他的弟兄，他到如今還是在黑暗裏。
He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness even until now.
2:10
ወዘሰ ያፈቅር ቢጾ ውስተ ብርሃን ይነብር ወአልቦ ዕቅፍት በኀቤሁ።
愛弟兄的，就是住在光明中，在他並沒有絆跌的緣由。
He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him.
2:11
ወዘሰ ይጸልእ ቢጾ ውስተ ጽልመት ውእቱ የሐውር ወኢየአምር ኀበ የሐውር እስመ ጽልመት አዖሮ አዕይንቲሁ።
惟獨恨弟兄的，是在黑暗裏，且在黑暗裏行，也不知道往哪裏去，因為黑暗叫他眼睛瞎了。
But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and doesn’t know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
2:12
እጽሕፍ ለክሙ ደቂቅየ እስመ ተኀድገ ለክሙ ኀጢአትክሙ በእንተ ስሙ።
小子們哪，我寫信給你們， 因為你們的罪藉着主名得了赦免。
I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
2:13
እጽሕፍ ለክሙ አበው እስመ አእመርክምዎ ለቀዳማዊ እጽሕፍ ለክሙ ወራዙት እስመ ሞእክምዎ ለእኩይ ጸሐፍኩ ለክሙ ደቂቅየ እስመ አእመርክምዎ ለአብ።
父老啊，我寫信給你們， 因為你們認識那從起初原有的。 少年人哪，我寫信給你們， 因為你們勝了那惡者。
I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, little children, because you know the Father.
2:14
ጸሐፍኩ ለክሙ አበው እስመ አእመርክምዎ ለቀዳማዊ ጸሐፍኩ ለክሙ ወራዙት እስመ ጽኑዓን አንትሙ ወቃለ እግዚአብሔር ይነብር ኀቤክሙ ወሞእክምዎ ለእኩይ።
小子們哪，我曾寫信給你們， 因為你們認識父。 父老啊，我曾寫信給你們， 因為你們認識那從起初原有的。 少年人哪，我曾寫信給你們； 因為你們剛強， 上帝的道常存在你們心裏； 你們也勝了那惡者。
I have written to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God remains in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
2:15
ኢታፍቅርዎ ለዓለም ወኢ ዘሀሎ ውስተ ዓለም ወዘሰ አፍቀሮ ለዓለም ኢሀሎ ፍቅረ እግዚአብሔር ላዕሌሁ።
不要愛世界和世界上的事。人若愛世界，愛父的心就不在他裏面了。
Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him.
2:16
እስመ ኵሉ ዘሀሎ ውስተ ዓለም ፍትወቱ ለሥጋ ወፍትወቱ ለዐይን ወስራሑ ለመንበርት ኢኮነ ዝንቱ እምኀበ አብ አላ እምዓለም ውእቱ።
因為，凡世界上的事，就像肉體的情慾、眼目的情慾，並今生的驕傲，都不是從父來的，乃是從世界來的。
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s.
2:17
ዓለሙኒ የኀልፍ ወፍትወቱኒ የኀልፍ ወዘሰ ይገብር ፍትወቶ ለእግዚአብሔር ይነብር ለዓለም።
這世界和其上的情慾都要過去，惟獨遵行上帝旨意的，是永遠常存。
The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever.
2:18
ደቂቅየ ዛቲ ሰዓት ደኃሪት ይእቲ ወበከመ ሰማዕክሙ ከመ ይመጽእ ሐሳዌ መሲሕ ይእዜኒ ኮኑ ብዙኃን ሐሳውያነ መሲሕ ወበዝንቱ አእመርነ ከመ ደኃሪት ሰዓት ይእቲ።
小子們哪，如今是末時了。你們曾聽見說，那敵基督的要來；現在已經有好些敵基督的出來了，從此我們就知道如今是末時了。
Little children, these are the end times, and as you heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen. By this we know that it is the final hour.
2:19
እስመ እምኔነ ወፅኡ እለ ኢኮኑ እምኔነ ወሶበሰ እምኔነ እሙንቱ እምነበሩ ምስሌነ ወባሕቱ ከመ ይትዐወቁ ከመ ኢኮኑ ኵሎሙ እምኔነ።
他們從我們中間出去，卻不是屬我們的；若是屬我們的，就必仍舊與我們同在；他們出去，顯明都不是屬我們的。
They went out from us, but they didn’t belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they left, that they might be revealed that none of them belong to us.
2:20
ወአንትሙሰ ቅብዐት ብክሙ እምነ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ወተአምሩ ኵሎ።
你們從那聖者受了恩膏，並且知道這一切的事 。
You have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.
2:21
ኢጸሐፍኩ ለክሙ ከመ ዘኢተአምርዋ ለጽድቅ አላ ከመ ተአምርዋ እስመ ኵላ ሐሰት ኢኮነት እምጽድቅ።
我寫信給你們，不是因你們不知道真理，正是因你們知道，並且知道沒有虛謊是從真理出來的。
I have not written to you because you don’t know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.
2:22
ወመኑ ውእቱ ሐሳዊ ዘእንበለ ዘይክሕድ ወይብል እስመ ኢየሱስ ኢኮነ መሲሐ ወዝንቱ ውእቱ ሐሳዌ መሲሕ ዘይክሕድ በአብ ወበወልድ።
誰是說謊話的呢？不是那不認耶穌為基督的嗎？不認父與子的，這就是敵基督的。
Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.
2:23
ወኵሉ ዘይክሕድ በወልድ ወበአብኒ ኢሀለወ ወዘሰ የአምን በወልድ ወበአብኒ ሀለወ።
凡不認子的，就沒有父；認子的，連父也有了。
Whoever denies the Son doesn’t have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also.
2:24
ወአንትሙሰ ዘሰማዕክሙ ትካት ለይንበር ኀቤክሙ ወእመሰ ዘሰማዕክሙ ትካት ነበረ ኀቤክሙ ወአንትሙኒ ትነብሩ በአብ ወበወልድ።
論到你們，務要將那從起初所聽見的，常存在心裏。若將從起初所聽見的存在心裏，你們就必住在子裏面，也必住在父裏面。
Therefore, as for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father.
2:25
ወዛቲ ይእቲ ተስፋ እንተ አሰፈወነ ሕይወተ ዘለዓለም።
主所應許我們的就是永生。
This is the promise which he promised us, the eternal life.
2:26
ወዘንተ ንጽሕፍ ለክሙ በእንተ እለ ያስሕቱክሙ።
我將這些話寫給你們，是指着那引誘你們的人說的。
These things I have written to you concerning those who would lead you astray.
2:27
ወአንትሙሰ ቅብዐት ብክሙ እንተ ነሣእክሙ እምኀቤሁ ወትነብር ኀቤክሙ ወኢትፈቅዱ መኑሂ ይምሀርክሙ አላ መንፈሰ ዚኣሁ ይሜሀረክሙ በእንተ ኵሉ ወእሙን ውእቱ ወኢኮነ ሐሰተ ወበከመ ትምህርትክሙ ንበሩ ባቲ።
你們從主所受的恩膏常存在你們心裏，並不用人教訓你們，自有主的恩膏在凡事上教訓你們。這恩膏是真的，不是假的；你們要按這恩膏的教訓住在主裏面。
As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.
2:28
ወይእዜኒ ደቂቅየ ንበሩ ባቲ ከመ አመ አስተርአየ ንርከብ ገጸ በዕለተ ደይን ወኢንትኀፈር እምኔሁ አመ ይመጽእ።
小子們哪，你們要住在主裏面。這樣，他若顯現，我們就可以坦然無懼；當他來的時候，在他面前也不至於慚愧。
Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
2:29
ወእመሰ ርኢክሙ ከመ ጻድቅ ውእቱ አእምሩ ከመ ኵሉ ዘይገብራ ለጽድቅ እምኔሁ ተወልደ።
你們若知道他是公義的，就知道凡行公義之人都是他所生的。
If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.
