1:1

እምጳውሎስ ገብሩ ለእግዚአብሔር ወሐዋርያሁ ለኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በሃይማኖቶሙ ለኅሩያኒሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ወአእምሮ ጽድቅ ዘበጽድቁ ለእግዚአብሔር።

上帝的僕人，耶穌基督的使徒保羅，憑着上帝選民的信心與敬虔真理的知識，

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,

1:2

ወበተስፋ ሕይወት ዘለዓለም ዘአሰፈወ እግዚአብሔር ዘኢይሔሱ እምፍጥረተ ዓለም።

盼望那無謊言的上帝在萬古之先所應許的永生，

in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’t lie, promised before time began;

1:3

ወአርአየ ቃሎ በዕድሜሁ በስብከተ ዚኣነ ኪያሁ ወተአመነኒ ሊተ ላዕሌሁ በትእዛዘ እግዚአብሔር መድኀኒነ።

到了日期，藉着傳揚的工夫把他的道顯明了；這傳揚的責任是按着上帝－我們救主的命令交託了我。

but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,

1:4

ለቲቶ ወልድየ ዘአፈቅር በተፋቅሮ ወበሃይማኖት ሰላም ለከ ጸጋ ወሣህል እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር አቡነ ወእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ መድኀኒነ።

現在寫信給提多，就是照着我們共信之道作我真兒子的。願恩惠、平安從父上帝和我們的救主基督耶穌歸與你！

to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.

1:5

እስመ እንበይነ ዝንቱ ኀደጉከ ውስተ ቀርጤስ ከመ ታስተራትዕ ዘተርፈ ወትሢም ቀሲሳነ ለለ አህጉር በከመ አዘዝኩከ።

我從前留你在克里特，是要你將那沒有辦完的事都辦整齊了，又照我所吩咐你的，在各城設立長老。

I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—

1:6

ብእሴ ዘአሐተ ብእሲተ አውሰበ ኅሩየ ዘኢየሐምይዎ በእኩይ ዘቦ ውሉድ መሃይምናን ዘኢያስተዋድይዎሙ በምርዓት እለ ኢኮኑ ዝሉፋነ እለ ይትኤዘዙ።

若有無可指責的人，只作一個婦人的丈夫，兒女也是信主的，沒有人告他們是放蕩不服約束的，就可以設立。

if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.

1:7

ወርቱዕ ይሠየም ጳጳሰ ዘአልቦ ሐሜት ዘኢያደሉ ከመ መጋቤ እግዚአብሔር ዘኢኮነ መዓትመ ዘልቡብ ዘኢያበዝኅ ሰትየ ወይን ወኢያፈጥን እዴሁ ለዘቢጥ ዘኢደፋሪ ወኢዝኁር ወዘኢያፈቅር ንዋየ ከንቶ።

監督既是上帝的管家，必須無可指責，不任性，不暴躁，不因酒滋事，不打人，不貪無義之財；

For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

1:8

መፍቀሬ ነግድ፥ ዘሠናይ ምግባሩ ዘአንጽሐ ርእሶ ጻድቅ ወኄር ወየዋህ ወመስተዓግሥ ዘያነሐሲ ዘምሁር ቃለ ሃይማኖት።

樂意接待遠人，好善，莊重，公平，聖潔自持；

but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,

1:9

ዘይክል ገሥጾ በትምህርተ ሕይወት ወይዛለፎሙ ለእለ ይትዋሥኡ።

堅守所教真實的道理，就能將純正的教訓勸化人，又能把爭辯的人駁倒了。

holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.
