1:1
Verbum Domini, quod factum est ad Joël, filium Phatuel.
耶和華的話臨到毗土珥的兒子約珥。
Yahweh’s word that came to Joel, the son of Pethuel.
1:2
Audite hoc, senes, et auribus percipite, omnes habitatores terrae : si factum est istud in diebus vestris, aut in diebus patrum vestrorum ?
老年人哪，當聽我的話； 國中的居民哪，都要側耳而聽。 在你們的日子， 或你們列祖的日子， 曾有這樣的事嗎？
Hear this, you elders, and listen, all you inhabitants of the land! Has this ever happened in your days, or in the days of your fathers?
1:3
Super hoc filiis vestris narrate, et filii vestri filiis suis, et filii eorum generationi alterae.
你們要將這事傳與子， 子傳與孫， 孫傳與後代。
Tell your children about it, and have your children tell their children, and their children, another generation.
1:4
Residuum erucae comedit locusta, et residuum locustae comedit bruchus, et residuum bruchi comedit rubigo.
剪蟲剩下的，蝗蟲來吃； 蝗蟲剩下的，蝻子來吃； 蝻子剩下的，螞蚱來吃。
What the swarming locust has left, the great locust has eaten. What the great locust has left, the grasshopper has eaten. What the grasshopper has left, the caterpillar has eaten.
1:5
Expergiscimini, ebrii, et flete et ululate, omnes qui bibitis vinum in dulcedine, quoniam periit ab ore vestro.
酒醉的人哪，要清醒哭泣； 好酒的人哪，都要為甜酒哀號， 因為從你們的口中斷絕了。
Wake up, you drunkards, and weep! Wail, all you drinkers of wine, because of the sweet wine, for it is cut off from your mouth.
1:6
Gens enim ascendit super terram meam, fortis et innumerabilis : dentes ejus ut dentes leonis, et molares ejus ut catuli leonis.
有一隊蝗蟲 又強盛又無數， 侵犯我的地； 牠的牙齒如獅子的牙齒， 大牙如母獅的大牙。
For a nation has come up on my land, strong, and without number. His teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he has the fangs of a lioness.
1:7
Posuit vineam meam in desertum, et ficum meam decorticavit ; nudans spoliavit eam, et projecit : albi facti sunt rami ejus.
牠毀壞我的葡萄樹， 剝了我無花果樹的皮， 剝盡而丟棄，使枝條露白。
He has laid my vine waste, and stripped my fig tree. He has stripped its bark, and thrown it away. Its branches are made white.
1:8
Plange quasi virgo accincta sacco super virum pubertatis suae.
我的民哪，你當哀號，像處女腰束麻布， 為幼年的丈夫哀號。
Mourn like a virgin dressed in sackcloth for the husband of her youth!
1:9
Periit sacrificium et libatio de domo Domini ; luxerunt sacerdotes, ministri Domini.
素祭和奠祭從耶和華的殿中斷絕； 事奉耶和華的祭司都悲哀。
The meal offering and the drink offering are cut off from Yahweh’s house. The priests, Yahweh’s ministers, mourn.
1:10
Depopulata est regio, luxit humus, quoniam devastatum est triticum, confusum est vinum, elanguit oleum.
田荒涼，地悲哀； 因為五穀毀壞， 新酒乾竭，油也缺乏。
The field is laid waste. The land mourns, for the grain is destroyed, The new wine has dried up, and the oil languishes.
1:11
Confusi sunt agricolae, ululaverunt vinitores super frumento et hordeo, quia periit messis agri.
農夫啊，你們要慚愧； 修理葡萄園的啊，你們要哀號； 因為大麥小麥與田間的莊稼都滅絕了。
Be confounded, you farmers! Wail, you vineyard keepers, for the wheat and for the barley; for the harvest of the field has perished.
1:12
Vinea confusa est, et ficus elanguit ; malogranatum, et palma, et malum, et omnia ligna agri aruerunt, quia confusum est gaudium a filiis hominum.
葡萄樹枯乾； 無花果樹衰殘。 石榴樹、棕樹、蘋果樹， 連田野一切的樹木也都枯乾； 眾人的喜樂盡都消滅。
The vine has dried up, and the fig tree withered— the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all of the trees of the field are withered; for joy has withered away from the sons of men.
1:13
Accingite vos, et plangite, sacerdotes : ululate, ministri altaris ; ingredimini, cubate in sacco, ministri Dei mei, quoniam interiit de domo Dei vestri sacrificium et libatio.
祭司啊，你們當腰束麻布痛哭； 伺候祭壇的啊，你們要哀號； 事奉我上帝的啊，你們要來披上麻布過夜， 因為素祭和奠祭從你們上帝的殿中斷絕了。
Put on sackcloth and mourn, you priests! Wail, you ministers of the altar. Come, lie all night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God, for the meal offering and the drink offering are withheld from your God’s house.
1:14
Sanctificate jejunium, vocate coetum, congregate senes, omnes habitatores terrae in domum Dei vestri, et clamate ad Dominum :
你們要分定禁食的日子， 宣告嚴肅會， 招聚長老和國中的一切居民 到耶和華－你們上帝的殿， 向耶和華哀求。
Sanctify a fast. Call a solemn assembly. Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of Yahweh, your God, and cry to Yahweh.
1:15
A, a, a, diei ! quia prope est dies Domini, et quasi vastitas a potente veniet.
哀哉！耶和華的日子臨近了。 這日來到，好像毀滅從全能者來到。
Alas for the day! For the day of Yahweh is at hand, and it will come as destruction from the Almighty.
1:16
Numquid non coram oculis vestris alimenta perierunt de domo Dei nostri, laetitia et exsultatio ?
糧食不是在我們眼前斷絕了嗎？ 歡喜快樂不是從我們上帝的殿中止息了嗎？
Isn’t the food cut off before our eyes, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
1:17
Computruerunt jumenta in stercore suo, demolita sunt horrea, dissipatae sunt apothecae, quoniam confusum est triticum.
穀種在土塊下朽爛； 倉也荒涼，廩也破壞； 因為五穀枯乾了。
The seeds rot under their clods. The granaries are laid desolate. The barns are broken down, for the grain has withered.
1:18
Quid ingemuit animal, mugierunt greges armenti ? quia non est pascua eis ; sed et greges pecorum disperierunt.
牲畜哀鳴； 牛群混亂，因為無草； 羊群也受了困苦。
How the animals groan! The herds of livestock are perplexed, because they have no pasture. Yes, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
1:19
Ad te, Domine, clamabo, quia ignis comedit speciosa deserti, et flamma succendit omnia ligna regionis.
耶和華啊，我向你求告， 因為火燒滅曠野的草場； 火焰燒盡田野的樹木。
Yahweh, I cry to you, for the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field.
1:20
Sed et bestiae agri, quasi area sitiens imbrem, suspexerunt ad te, quoniam exsiccati sunt fontes aquarum, et ignis devoravit speciosa deserti.
田野的走獸向你發喘； 因為溪水乾涸， 火也燒滅曠野的草場。
Yes, the animals of the field pant to you, for the water brooks have dried up, and the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
