1:1
Paulus servus Dei, Apostolus autem Jesu Christi secundum fidem electorum Dei, et agnitionem veritatis, quae secundum pietatem est
上帝的僕人,耶穌基督的使徒保羅,憑着上帝選民的信心與敬虔真理的知識,
Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
1:2
in spem vitae aeternae, quam promisit qui non mentitur, Deus, ante tempora saecularia :
盼望那無謊言的上帝在萬古之先所應許的永生,
in hope of eternal life, which God, who can’t lie, promised before time began;
1:3
manifestavit autem temporibus suis verbum suum in praedicatione, quae credita est mihi secundum praeceptum Salvatoris nostri Dei :
到了日期,藉着傳揚的工夫把他的道顯明了;這傳揚的責任是按着上帝-我們救主的命令交託了我。
but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,

Tito dilecto filio secundum communem fidem, gratia, et pax a Deo Patre, et Christo Jesu Salvatore nostro.
現在寫信給提多,就是照着我們共信之道作我真兒子的。願恩惠、平安從父上帝和我們的救主基督耶穌歸與你!
to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
1:5
Hujus rei gratia reliqui te Cretae, ut ea quae desunt, corrigas, et constituas per civitates presbyteros, sicut et ego disposui tibi,
我從前留你在克里特,是要你將那沒有辦完的事都辦整齊了,又照我所吩咐你的,在各城設立長老。
I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you—
1:6
si quis sine crimine est, unius uxoris vir, filios habens fideles, non in accusatione luxuriae, aut non subditos.
若有無可指責的人,只作一個婦人的丈夫,兒女也是信主的,沒有人告他們是放蕩不服約束的,就可以設立。
if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior.
1:7
Oportet enim episcopum sine crimine esse, sicut Dei dispensatorem : non superbum, non iracundum, non vinolentum, non percussorem, non turpis lucri cupidum :
監督既是上帝的管家,必須無可指責,不任性,不暴躁,不因酒滋事,不打人,不貪無義之財;
For the overseer must be blameless, as God’s steward, not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

sed hospitalem, benignum, sobrium, justum, sanctum, continentem,
樂意接待遠人,好善,莊重,公平,聖潔自持;
but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,
1:9
amplectentem eum, qui secundum doctrinam est, fidelem sermonem : ut potens sit exhortari in doctrina sana, et eos qui contradicunt, arguere.
堅守所教真實的道理,就能將純正的教訓勸化人,又能把爭辯的人駁倒了。
holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.
1:10
Sunt enim multi etiam inobedientes, vaniloqui, et seductores : maxime qui de circumcisione sunt :
因為有許多人不服約束,說虛空話欺哄人;那奉割禮的更是這樣。
For there are also many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,
1:11
quos oportet redargui : qui universas domos subvertunt, docentes quae non oportet, turpis lucri gratia.
這些人的口總要堵住。他們因貪不義之財,將不該教導的教導人,敗壞人的全家。
whose mouths must be stopped: men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake.
1:12
Dixit quidam ex illis, proprius ipsorum propheta : Cretenses semper mendaces, malae bestiae, ventres pigri.
有克里特人中的一個本地先知說:「克里特人常說謊話,乃是惡獸,又饞又懶。」
One of them, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons.”
1:13
Testimonium hoc verum est. Quam ob causam increpa illos dure, ut sani sint in fide,
這個見證是真的。所以,你要嚴嚴地責備他們,使他們在真道上純全無疵,
This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,

non intendentes judaicis fabulis, et mandatis hominum, aversantium se a veritate.
不聽猶太人荒渺的言語和離棄真道之人的誡命。
not paying attention to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
1:15
Omnia munda mundis : coinquinatis autem et infidelibus, nihil est mundum, sed inquinatae sunt eorum et mens et conscientia.
在潔淨的人,凡物都潔淨;在污穢不信的人,甚麼都不潔淨,連心地和天良也都污穢了。
To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
1:16
Confitentur se nosse Deum, factis autem negant : cum sint abominati, et incredibiles, et ad omne opus bonum reprobi.
他們說是認識上帝,行事卻和他相背;本是可憎惡的,是悖逆的,在各樣善事上是可廢棄的。
They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.
