9:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיְהִי֙ כְּכַלּ֣וֹת שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה לִבְנ֥וֹת אֶת ־בֵּית ־יְהֹוָ֖ה וְאֶת ־בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְאֵת֙ כׇּל ־חֵ֣שֶׁק שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָפֵ֖ץ לַעֲשֽׂוֹת ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς συνετέλεσεν Σαλωμων οἰκοδομεῖν τὸν οἶκον κυρίου καὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν πραγματείαν Σαλωμων ὅσα ἠθέλησεν ποιῆσαι
Factum est autem cum perfecisset Salomon aedificium domus Domini , et aedificium regis , et omne quod optaverat et voluerat facere ,
ወእምዝ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ፈጸመ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ሐኒጸ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወቤተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ግብሩ ፡ ዘፈቀደ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ይግበር ፤
When Solomon had finished the building of Yahweh’s house, the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,
9:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּרָ֧א יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל ־שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה שֵׁנִ֑ית כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר נִרְאָ֥ה אֵלָ֖יו בְּגִבְעֽוֹן ׃
καὶ ὤφθη κύριος τῷ Σαλωμων δεύτερον καθὼς ὤφθη ἐν Γαβαων
apparuit ei Dominus secundo , sicut apparuerat ei in Gabaon .
አስተርአዮ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሰሎሞን ፡ ዳግመ ፡ በከመ ፡ አስተርአዮ ፡ በገባኦን ።
Yahweh appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.
9:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֵלָ֗יו שָׁ֠מַ֠עְתִּי אֶת ־תְּפִלָּתְךָ֣ וְאֶת ־תְּחִנָּתְךָ֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִתְחַנַּ֣נְתָּה לְפָנַי֒ הִקְדַּ֗שְׁתִּי אֶת ־הַבַּ֤יִת הַזֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּנִ֔תָה לָשׂוּם ־שְׁמִ֥י שָׁ֖ם עַד ־עוֹלָ֑ם וְהָי֨וּ עֵינַ֧י וְלִבִּ֛י שָׁ֖ם כׇּל ־הַיָּמִֽים ׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν κύριος ἤκουσα τῆς φωνῆς τῆς προσευχῆς σου καὶ τῆς δεήσεώς σου ἧς ἐδεήθης ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ πεποίηκά σοι κατὰ πᾶσαν τὴν προσευχήν σου ἡγίακα τὸν οἶκον τοῦτον ὃν ᾠκοδόμησας τοῦ θέσθαι τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐκεῖ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ ἔσονται οἱ ὀφθαλμοί μου ἐκεῖ καὶ ἡ καρδία μου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας
Dixitque Dominus ad eum : Exaudivi orationem tuam et deprecationem tuam , quam deprecatus es coram me : sanctificavi domum hanc quam aedificasti , ut ponerem nomen meum ibi in sempiternum , et erunt oculi mei et cor meum ibi cunctis diebus .
ወይቤሎ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሰማዕኩ ፡ ጸሎተከ ፡ ወስእለተከ ፡ ዘሰአልከ ፡ ቅድሜየ ፡ ወገበርኩ ፡ ለከ ፡ በከመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ጸሎትከ ፡ ወቀደስክዎ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ቤት ፡ ዘሐነጽከ ፡ ከመ ፡ የሀሉ ፡ ስምየ ፡ ህየ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ ወይሄልዋ ፡ አዕይንትየ ፡ ወልብየ ፡ ህየ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕል ።
Yahweh said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you have made before me. I have made this house holy, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.
9:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֞ה אִם ־תֵּלֵ֣ךְ לְפָנַ֗י כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר הָלַ֜ךְ דָּוִ֤ד אָבִ֙יךָ֙ בְּתׇם ־לֵבָ֣ב וּבְיֹ֔שֶׁר לַעֲשׂ֕וֹת כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּיתִ֑יךָ חֻקַּ֥י וּמִשְׁפָּטַ֖י תִּשְׁמֹֽר ׃
καὶ σὺ ἐὰν πορευθῇς ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ καθὼς ἐπορεύθη Δαυιδ ὁ πατήρ σου ἐν ὁσιότητι καρδίας καὶ ἐν εὐθύτητι καὶ τοῦ ποιεῖν κατὰ πάντα ἃ ἐνετειλάμην αὐτῷ καὶ τὰ προστάγματά μου καὶ τὰς ἐντολάς μου φυλάξῃς
Tu quoque si ambulaveris coram me sicut ambulavit pater tuus , in simplicitate cordis et in aequitate , et feceris omnia quae praecepi tibi , et legitima mea et judicia mea servaveris ,
ወአንተኒ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ሖርከ ፡ ቅድሜየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሖረ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ በጽድቅ ፡ ወበንጽሓ ፡ ወበርትዕ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ወከመ ፡ ትግበር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘአዘዝኩከ ፡ ወትዕቀብ ፡ ሕግየ ፡ ወትእዛዝየ ፤
As for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances,
9:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַהֲקִ֨מֹתִ֜י אֶת ־כִּסֵּ֧א מַֽמְלַכְתְּךָ֛ עַל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְעֹלָ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבַּ֗רְתִּי עַל ־דָּוִ֤ד אָבִ֙יךָ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹֽא ־יִכָּרֵ֤ת לְךָ֙ אִ֔ישׁ מֵעַ֖ל כִּסֵּ֥א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ ἀναστήσω τὸν θρόνον τῆς βασιλείας σου ἐπὶ Ισραηλ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καθὼς ἐλάλησα τῷ Δαυιδ πατρί σου λέγων οὐκ ἐξαρθήσεταί σοι ἀνὴρ ἡγούμενος ἐν Ισραηλ
ponam thronum regni tui super Israël in sempiternum , sicut locutus sum David patri tuo , dicens : Non auferetur vir de genere tuo de solio Israël .
ወኣቀውም ፡ መንበረ ፡ መንግሥትከ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ለዓለም ፡ በከመ ፡ እቤሎ ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ አቡከ ፡ ኢያጠፍእ ፡ ብእሴ ፡ እምኔከ ፡ ዘይሰፍን ፡ ለእስራኤል ።
then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, as I promised to David your father, saying, ‘There shall not fail from you a man on the throne of Israel.’
9:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ אִם ־שׁ֨וֹב תְּשֻׁב֜וּן אַתֶּ֤ם וּבְנֵיכֶם֙ מֵֽאַחֲרַ֔י וְלֹ֤א תִשְׁמְרוּ֙ מִצְוֺתַ֣י חֻקֹּתַ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תִּי לִפְנֵיכֶ֑ם וַהֲלַכְתֶּ֗ם וַֽעֲבַדְתֶּם֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶ֖ם לָהֶֽם ׃
ἐὰν δὲ ἀποστραφέντες ἀποστραφῆτε ὑμεῖς καὶ τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ καὶ μὴ φυλάξητε τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τὰ προστάγματά μου ἃ ἔδωκεν Μωυσῆς ἐνώπιον ὑμῶν καὶ πορευθῆτε καὶ δουλεύσητε θεοῖς ἑτέροις καὶ προσκυνήσητε αὐτοῖς
Si autem aversione aversi fueritis vos et filii vestri , non sequentes me , nec custodientes mandata mea et caeremonias meas quas proposui vobis , sed abieritis et colueritis deos alienos , et adoraveritis eos :
ወእመሰ ፡ ተመየጥክሙ ፡ ወኀደግሙኒ ፡ ወገባእክሙ ፡ ድኅሬክሙ ፡ አንትሙሂ ፡ ወውሉድክሙሂ ፡ ወኀደግሙኒ ፡ ወኢዐቀብክሙ ፡ ትእዛዝየ ፡ ወሕግየ ፡ ዘወሀብክዎ ፡ ለሙሴ ፡ በቅድሜክሙ ፡ ወሖርክሙ ፡ ወተቀነይክሙ ፡ ለባዕድ ፡ አማልክት ፡ ወስገድክሙ ፡ ሎሙ ፤
But if you turn away from following me, you or your children, and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them,
9:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהִכְרַתִּ֣י אֶת ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל מֵעַ֨ל פְּנֵ֤י הָאֲדָמָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתַ֣תִּי לָהֶ֔ם וְאֶת ־הַבַּ֙יִת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִקְדַּ֣שְׁתִּי לִשְׁמִ֔י אֲשַׁלַּ֖ח מֵעַ֣ל פָּנָ֑י וְהָיָ֧ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל לְמָשָׁ֥ל וְלִשְׁנִינָ֖ה בְּכׇל ־הָעַמִּֽים ׃
καὶ ἐξαρῶ τὸν Ισραηλ ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἧς ἔδωκα αὐτοῖς καὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦτον ὃν ἡγίασα τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἀπορρίψω ἐκ προσώπου μου καὶ ἔσται Ισραηλ εἰς ἀφανισμὸν καὶ εἰς λάλημα εἰς πάντας τοὺς λαούς
auferam Israël de superficie terrae quam dedi eis , et templum quod sanctificavi nomini meo , projiciam a conspectu meo : eritque Israël in proverbium , et in fabulam cunctis populis .
ወእደመስሶሙ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ እምነ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ወሀብክዎሙ ፡ ወዘንተኒ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ዘቀደስኩ ፡ ለስምየ ፡ እገድፎ ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ገጽየ ፡ ወይከውን ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ለሙስና ፡ ወለነገር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አሕዛብ ።
then I will cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and I will cast this house, which I have made holy for my name, out of my sight; and Israel will be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
9:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהַבַּ֤יִת הַזֶּה֙ יִהְיֶ֣ה עֶלְי֔וֹן כׇּל ־עֹבֵ֥ר עָלָ֖יו יִשֹּׁ֣ם וְשָׁרָ֑ק וְאָמְר֗וּ עַל ־מֶ֨ה עָשָׂ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ כָּ֔כָה לָאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּ֖את וְלַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּֽה ׃
καὶ ὁ οἶκος οὗτος ὁ ὑψηλός πᾶς ὁ διαπορευόμενος δῑ αὐτοῦ ἐκστήσεται καὶ συριεῖ καὶ ἐροῦσιν ἕνεκα τίνος ἐποίησεν κύριος οὕτως τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ καὶ τῷ οἴκῳ τούτῳ
Et domus haec erit in exemplum : omnis qui transierit per eam , stupebit , et sibilabit , et dicet : Quare fecit Dominus sic terrae huic , et domui huic ?
ወዝንቱኒ ፡ ቤት ፡ ዘልዑል ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘየኀልፍ ፡ እንተ ፡ ኀቤሁ ፡ ይደነግፅ ፡ ወይትፋጸይ ፡ ወይብሉ ፡ በበይነ ፡ ምንት ፡ ገብራ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለዛቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወለዛቲ ፡ ቤት ።
Though this house is so high, yet everyone who passes by it will be astonished and hiss; and they will say, ‘Why has Yahweh done this to this land and to this house?’
9:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאָמְר֗וּ עַל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָזְב֜וּ אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר הוֹצִ֣יא אֶת ־אֲבֹתָם֮ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֒יִם֒ וַֽיַּחֲזִ֙קוּ֙ בֵּאלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים (וישתחו ) [וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲו֥וּ ] לָהֶ֖ם וַיַּעַבְדֻ֑ם עַל ־כֵּ֗ן הֵבִ֤יא יְהֹוָה֙ עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם אֵ֥ת כׇּל ־הָרָעָ֖ה הַזֹּֽאת ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐροῦσιν ἀνθ’ ὧν ἐγκατέλιπον κύριον θεὸν αὐτῶν ὃς ἐξήγαγεν τοὺς πατέρας αὐτῶν ἐξ Αἰγύπτου ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας καὶ ἀντελάβοντο θεῶν ἀλλοτρίων καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐδούλευσαν αὐτοῖς διὰ τοῦτο ἐπήγαγεν κύριος ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς τὴν κακίαν ταύτην τότε ἀνήγαγεν Σαλωμων τὴν θυγατέρα Φαραω ἐκ πόλεως Δαυιδ εἰς οἶκον αὐτοῦ ὃν ᾠκοδόμησεν ἑαυτῷ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις
Et respondebunt : Quia dereliquerunt Dominum Deum suum , qui eduxit patres eorum de terra Aegypti , et secuti sunt deos alienos , et adoraverunt eos , et coluerunt eos : idcirco induxit Dominus super eos omne malum hoc .
ወይብሉ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኀደግዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኮሙ ፡ ዘአውፅኦሙ ፡ ለአበዊሆሙ ፡ እምነ ፡ ግብጽ ፡ እምነ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ቅንየት ፡ ወተለዉ ፡ አማልክተ ፡ ነኪር ፡ ወሰገዱ ፡ ወተቀንዩ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ወበበይነ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ አምጽኣ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ለዛቲ ፡ እኪት ። ወይእተ ፡ አሚረ ፡ አእተዋ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ለወለተ ፡ ፈርዖን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤት ፡ ዘሐነጸ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ በእማንቱ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ እምነ ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ዳዊት ።
and they will answer, ‘Because they abandoned Yahweh their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and embraced other gods, and worshiped them, and served them. Therefore Yahweh has brought all this evil on them.’”
9:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֗י מִקְצֵה֙ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר ־בָּנָ֥ה שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה אֶת ־שְׁנֵ֣י הַבָּתִּ֑ים אֶת ־בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָ֖ה וְאֶת ־בֵּ֥ית הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ׃
εἴκοσι ἔτη ἐν οἷς ᾠκοδόμησεν Σαλωμων τοὺς δύο οἴκους τὸν οἶκον κυρίου καὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως
Expletis autem annis viginti postquam aedificaverat Salomon duas domos , id est , domum Domini , et domum regis
በ፳ዓመት ፡ ሐነጸ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ፪አብያተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወቤተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ።
At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, Yahweh’s house and the king’s house
9:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ חִירָ֣ם מֶֽלֶךְ ־צֹ֠ר נִשָּׂ֨א אֶת ־שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה בַּעֲצֵי֩ אֲרָזִ֨ים וּבַעֲצֵ֧י בְרוֹשִׁ֛ים וּבַזָּהָ֖ב לְכׇל ־חֶפְצ֑וֹ אָ֡ז יִתֵּן֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֤ה לְחִירָם֙ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים עִ֔יר בְּאֶ֖רֶץ הַגָּלִֽיל ׃
Χιραμ βασιλεὺς Τύρου ἀντελάβετο τοῦ Σαλωμων ἐν ξύλοις κεδρίνοις καὶ ἐν ξύλοις πευκίνοις καὶ ἐν χρυσίῳ καὶ ἐν παντὶ θελήματι αὐτοῦ τότε ἔδωκεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ Χιραμ εἴκοσι πόλεις ἐν τῇ γῇ τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ
(Hiram rege Tyri praebente Salomoni ligna cedrina et abiegna , et aurum juxta omne quod opus habuerat ), tunc dedit Salomon Hiram viginti oppida in terra Galilaeae .
ወኪራም ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ጢሮስ ፡ አርድኦ ፡ ለሰሎሞን ፡ በዕፀወ ፡ ቄድሮን ፡ ወበዕፀወ ፡ ጴውቂኖስ ፡ ወበወርቅ ፡ ወበኵሉ ፡ ዘፈቀደ ፡ ወወሀቦ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ይአተ ፡ አሚረ ፡ ለኪራም ፡ ፳አህጉረ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ገሊላ ።
(now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and cypress trees, and with gold, according to all his desire), King Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.
9:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּצֵ֤א חִירָם֙ מִצֹּ֔ר לִרְאוֹת֙ אֶת ־הֶ֣עָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַן ־ל֖וֹ שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה וְלֹ֥א יָשְׁר֖וּ בְּעֵינָֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Χιραμ ἐκ Τύρου καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν τοῦ ἰδεῖν τὰς πόλεις ἃς ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ Σαλωμων καὶ οὐκ ἤρεσαν αὐτῷ
Et egressus est Hiram de Tyro ut videret oppida quae dederat ei Salomon , et non placuerunt ei .
ወወፅአ ፡ ኪራም ፡ እምነ ፡ ጢሮስ ፡ ወሖረ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገሊላ ፡ ይርአዮን ፡ ኪያሆን ፡ አህጉረ ፡ እለ ፡ ወሀቦ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ወኢአደማሁ ።
Hiram came out of Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they didn’t please him.
9:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מָ֚ה הֶעָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֲשֶׁר ־נָתַ֥תָּה לִּ֖י אָחִ֑י וַיִּקְרָ֤א לָהֶם֙ אֶ֣רֶץ כָּב֔וּל עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה ׃ {פ}
καὶ εἶπεν τί αἱ πόλεις αὗται ἃς ἔδωκάς μοι ἀδελφέ καὶ ἐκάλεσεν αὐτάς ὅριον ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης
Et ait : Haeccine sunt civitates quas dedisti mihi , frater ? Et appellavit eas terram Chabul , usque in diem hanc .
ወይቤሎ ፡ ምንትኑ ፡ እላ ፡ አህጉር ፡ እለ ፡ ወሀብከኒ ፡ አንተ ፡ እኁየ ፡ ወሰመዮን ፡ ወሰነ ፡ እስከ ፡ ዮም ።
He said, “What cities are these which you have given me, my brother?” He called them the land of Cabul to this day.
9:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח חִירָ֖ם לַמֶּ֑לֶךְ מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים כִּכַּ֥ר זָהָֽב ׃
καὶ ἤνεγκεν Χιραμ τῷ Σαλωμων ἑκατὸν καὶ εἴκοσι τάλαντα χρυσίου
Misit quoque Hiram ad regem Salomonem centum viginti talenta auri .
ወአምጽአ ፡ ኪራም ፡ ለሰሎሞን ፡ ፻ወ፳መካልየ ፡ ወርቅ ፤
Hiram sent to the king one hundred twenty talents of gold.
9:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְזֶ֨ה דְבַר ־הַמַּ֜ס אֲשֶֽׁר ־הֶעֱלָ֣ה ׀ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה לִבְנוֹת֩ אֶת ־בֵּ֨ית יְהֹוָ֤ה וְאֶת ־בֵּיתוֹ֙ וְאֶת ־הַמִּלּ֔וֹא וְאֵ֖ת חוֹמַ֣ת יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְאֶת ־חָצֹ֥ר וְאֶת ־מְגִדּ֖וֹ וְאֶת ־גָּֽזֶר ׃
— Haec est summa expensarum quam obtulit rex Salomon ad aedificandam domum Domini et domum suam , et Mello , et murum Jerusalem , et Heser , et Mageddo , et Gazer .
— This is the reason of the forced labor which King Solomon conscripted: to build Yahweh’s house, his own house, Millo, Jerusalem’s wall, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
9:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ פַּרְעֹ֨ה מֶלֶךְ ־מִצְרַ֜יִם עָלָ֗ה וַיִּלְכֹּ֤ד אֶת ־גֶּ֙זֶר֙ וַיִּשְׂרְפָ֣הּ בָּאֵ֔שׁ וְאֶת ־הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֛י הַיֹּשֵׁ֥ב בָּעִ֖יר הָרָ֑ג וַֽיִּתְּנָהּ֙ שִׁלֻּחִ֔ים לְבִתּ֖וֹ אֵ֥שֶׁת שְׁלֹמֹֽה ׃
— Pharao rex Aegypti ascendit , et cepit Gazar , succenditque eam igni , et Chananaeum , qui habitabat in civitate , interfecit : et dedit eam in dotem filiae suae uxori Salomonis .
— Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, taken Gezer, burned it with fire, killed the Canaanites who lived in the city, and given it for a wedding gift to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.
9:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּ֤בֶן שְׁלֹמֹה֙ אֶת ־גָּ֔זֶר וְאֶת ־בֵּ֥ית חֹרֹ֖ן תַּחְתּֽוֹן ׃
— Aedificavit ergo Salomon Gazer , et Bethoron inferiorem ,
— Solomon built in the land Gezer, Beth Horon the lower,
9:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאֶֽת ־בַּעֲלָ֛ת וְאֶת ־[תַּדְמֹ֥ר ] (תמר ) בַּמִּדְבָּ֖ר בָּאָֽרֶץ ׃
— et Balaath , et Palmiram in terra solitudinis .
— Baalath, Tamar in the wilderness,
9:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאֵ֨ת כׇּל ־עָרֵ֤י הַֽמִּסְכְּנוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָי֣וּ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וְאֵת֙ עָרֵ֣י הָרֶ֔כֶב וְאֵ֖ת עָרֵ֣י הַפָּרָשִׁ֑ים וְאֵ֣ת ׀ חֵ֣שֶׁק שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר חָשַׁק֙ לִבְנ֤וֹת בִּירוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ וּבַלְּבָנ֔וֹן וּבְכֹ֖ל אֶ֥רֶץ מֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ ׃
— Et omnes vicos qui ad se pertinebant et erant absque muro , munivit , et civitates curruum et civitates equitum , et quodcumque ei placuit ut aedificaret in Jerusalem , et in Libano , et in omni terra potestatis suae .
— all the storage cities that Solomon had, the cities for his chariots, the cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
9:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ כׇּל ־הָ֠עָ֠ם הַנּוֹתָ֨ר מִן ־הָאֱמֹרִ֜י הַחִתִּ֤י הַפְּרִזִּי֙ הַחִוִּ֣י וְהַיְבוּסִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹא ־מִבְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הֵֽמָּה ׃
— Universum populum qui remanserat de Amorrhaeis , et Hethaeis , et Pherezaeis , et Hevaeis , et Jebusaeis , qui non sunt de filiis Israël :
— As for all the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel—
9:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ בְּנֵיהֶ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר נֹתְר֤וּ אַֽחֲרֵיהֶם֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹא ־יָכְל֛וּ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְהַחֲרִימָ֑ם וַיַּעֲלֵ֤ם שְׁלֹמֹה֙ לְמַס ־עֹבֵ֔ד עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה ׃
— horum filios qui remanserant in terra , quos scilicet non potuerant filii Israël exterminare , fecit Salomon tributarios usque in diem hanc .
— their children who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel were not able utterly to destroy—of them Solomon raised a levy of bondservants to this day.
9:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּמִבְּנֵי֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לֹא ־נָתַ֥ן שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה עָ֑בֶד כִּי ־הֵ֞ם אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֗ה וַֽעֲבָדָיו֙ וְשָׂרָ֣יו וְשָׁלִישָׁ֔יו וְשָׂרֵ֥י רִכְבּ֖וֹ וּפָרָשָֽׁיו ׃ {ס}
— De filiis autem Israël non constituit Salomon servire quemquam , sed erant viri bellatores , et ministri ejus , et principes , et duces , et praefecti curruum et equorum .
— But of the children of Israel Solomon made no bondservants; but they were the men of war, his servants, his princes, his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.
9:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֵ֣לֶּה ׀ שָׂרֵ֣י הַנִּצָּבִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר עַל ־הַמְּלָאכָה֙ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים וַחֲמֵ֣שׁ מֵא֑וֹת הָרֹדִ֣ים בָּעָ֔ם הָעֹשִׂ֖ים בַּמְּלָאכָֽה ׃
— Erant autem principes super omnia opera Salomonis praepositi quingenti quinquaginta , qui habebant subjectum populum , et statutis operibus imperabant .
— These were the five hundred fifty chief officers who were over Solomon’s work, who ruled over the people who labored in the work.
9:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ אַ֣ךְ בַּת ־פַּרְעֹ֗ה עָֽלְתָה֙ מֵעִ֣יר דָּוִ֔ד אֶל ־בֵּיתָ֖הּ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּֽנָה ־לָ֑הּ אָ֖ז בָּנָ֥ה אֶת ־הַמִּלּֽוֹא ׃
— Filia autem Pharaonis ascendit de civitate David in domum suam , quam aedificaverat ei Salomon : tunc aedificavit Mello .
— But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of David’s city to her house which Solomon had built for her. Then he built Millo.
9:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהֶעֱלָ֣ה שְׁלֹמֹ֡ה שָׁלֹשׁ֩ פְּעָמִ֨ים בַּשָּׁנָ֜ה עֹל֣וֹת וּשְׁלָמִ֗ים עַל ־הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּנָ֣ה לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה וְהַקְטֵ֣יר אִתּ֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֖ר לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וְשִׁלַּ֖ם אֶת ־הַבָּֽיִת ׃
— Offerebat quoque Salomon , tribus vicibus per annos singulos , holocausta et pacificas victimas super altare quod aedificaverat Domino , et adolebat thymiama coram Domino : perfectumque est templum .
— Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar which he built to Yahweh three times per year, burning incense with them on the altar that was before Yahweh. So he finished the house.
9:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ וׇאֳנִ֡י עָשָׂה֩ הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה בְּעֶצְיֽוֹן ־גֶּ֨בֶר אֲשֶׁ֧ר אֶת ־אֵל֛וֹת עַל ־שְׂפַ֥ת יַם ־ס֖וּף בְּאֶ֥רֶץ אֱדֽוֹם ׃
καὶ ναῦν ὑπὲρ οὗ ἐποίησεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμων ἐν Γασιωνγαβερ τὴν οὖσαν ἐχομένην Αιλαθ ἐπὶ τοῦ χείλους τῆς ἐσχάτης θαλάσσης ἐν γῇ Εδωμ
Classem quoque fecit rex Salomon in Asiongaber , quae est juxta Ailath in littore maris Rubri , in terra Idumaeae .
ወሐመረ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ በጋሲዮን ፡ ዘጋቤር ፡ እንተ ፡ ምእኃዘ ፡ ኤላት ፡ እንተ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሐይቀ ፡ ባሕር ፡ ወምድረ ፡ ኤዶም ።
King Solomon made a fleet of ships in Ezion Geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.
9:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח חִירָ֤ם בׇּֽאֳנִי֙ אֶת ־עֲבָדָ֔יו אַנְשֵׁ֣י אֳנִיּ֔וֹת יֹדְעֵ֖י הַיָּ֑ם עִ֖ם עַבְדֵ֥י שְׁלֹמֹֽה ׃
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Χιραμ ἐν τῇ νηὶ τῶν παίδων αὐτοῦ ἄνδρας ναυτικοὺς ἐλαύνειν εἰδότας θάλασσαν μετὰ τῶν παίδων Σαλωμων
Misitque Hiram in classe illa servos suos viros nauticos et gnaros maris , cum servis Salomonis .
ወፈነወ ፡ ኪራም ፡ በውስተ ፡ ሐመሩ ፡ አግብርተ ፡ ዚአሁ ፡ ዕደወ ፡ ኖትያተ ፡ እለ ፡ ይክሉ ፡ ኀዲፈ ፡ ባሕር ፡ ምስለ ፡ አግብርቲሁ ፡ ለሰሎሞን ።
Hiram sent in the fleet his servants, sailors who had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.
9:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ אוֹפִ֔ירָה וַיִּקְח֤וּ מִשָּׁם֙ זָהָ֔ב אַרְבַּע ־מֵא֥וֹת וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים כִּכָּ֑ר וַיָּבִ֖אוּ אֶל ־הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹֽה ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἦλθον εἰς Σωφηρα καὶ ἔλαβον ἐκεῖθεν χρυσίου ἑκατὸν καὶ εἴκοσι τάλαντα καὶ ἤνεγκαν τῷ βασιλεῖ Σαλωμων
Qui cum venissent in Ophir , sumptum inde aurum quadringentorum viginti talentorum , detulerunt ad regem Salomonem .
ወበጽሑ ፡ እስከ ፡ ሶፌራ ፡ ወነሥኡ ፡ እምህየ ፡ ፻ወ፳መክሊተ ፡ ወአምጽኡ ፡ ለሰሎሞን ።
They came to Ophir, and fetched from there gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to King Solomon.
