5:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πρεσβυτέρους οὖν τοὺς ἐν ὑμῖν παρακαλῶ ὁ συμπρεσβύτερος καὶ μάρτυς τῶν τοῦ Χριστοῦ παθημάτων , ὁ καὶ τῆς μελλούσης ἀποκαλύπτεσθαι δόξης κοινωνός ·
Seniores ergo , qui in vobis sunt , obsecro , consenior et testis Christi passionum : qui et ejus , quae in futuro revelanda est , gloriae communicator :
ወለእለኒ ይትለሀቁ እምኔክሙ አስተበቍዖሙ አነ ልሂቅ ካልኦሙ ወሰማዕት በእንተ ሕማሙ ለክርስቶስ ዘሀለዎ ያስተርኢ በስብሐቲሁ ከመ ትኩኑ ሱታፎ ።
Therefore I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed:
5:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ποιμάνατε τὸ ἐν ὑμῖν ποίμνιον τοῦ θεοῦ , μὴ ἀναγκαστῶς ἀλλὰ ἑκουσίως κατὰ θεόν , μηδὲ αἰσχροκερδῶς ἀλλὰ προθύμως ,
pascite qui in vobis est gregem Dei , providentes non coacte , sed spontanee secundum Deum : neque turpis lucri gratia , sed voluntarie :
ረዐዩ ዘሀለዉ ኀቤክሙ መርዔቶ ለእግዚአብሔር እንዘ ተዐቅብዎሙ ወኢትቅንይዎሙ በኵርህ አላ በጽድቅ በእንተ እግዚአብሔር እንዘ ኢትትሬብሕዎሙ አላ በምልአ ልብክሙ ወበትፍሥሕት ።
shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily; not for dishonest gain, but willingly;
5:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ μηδ’ ὡς κατακυριεύοντες τῶν κλήρων ἀλλὰ τύποι γινόμενοι τοῦ ποιμνίου ·
neque ut dominantes in cleris , sed forma facti gregis ex animo .
እንዘ ኢትትኄየሉ ሕዝቦ አላ አርኣያ ኩንዎሙ ለመርዔቱ ።
not as lording it over those entrusted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.
5:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ φανερωθέντος τοῦ ἀρχιποίμενος κομιεῖσθε τὸν ἀμαράντινον τῆς δόξης στέφανον .
Et cum apparuerit princeps pastorum , percipietis immarcescibilem gloriae coronam .
ከመ አመ ያስተርኢ እግዚአ ኖሎት ትንሥኡ አክሊለ ስብሐት ዘኢይጸመሂ ።
When the chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn’t fade away.
5:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ὁμοίως νεώτεροι ὑποτάγητε πρεσβυτέροις , πάντες δὲ ἀλλήλοις τὴν ταπεινοφροσύνην ἐγκομβώσασθε , ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ὑπερηφάνοις ἀντιτάσσεται , ταπεινοῖς δὲ δίδωσιν χάριν .
Similiter adolescentes subditi estote senioribus . Omnes autem invicem humilitatem insinuate , quia Deus superbis resistit , humilibus autem dat gratiam .
ወከማሁ አንትሙሂ ወራዙት ተኰነኑ ለእለ ይልህቁክሙ ወኵልክሙ ተመሀርዋ ለአትሕቶ ርእስክሙ እስመ እግዚአብሔር ያኀሥሮሙ ለዕቡያን ወያከብሮሙ ለእለ ያቴሕቱ ርእሶሙ ።
Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility and subject yourselves to one another; for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
5:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ ταπεινώθητε οὖν ὑπὸ τὴν κραταιὰν χεῖραν τοῦ θεοῦ , ἵνα ὑμᾶς ὑψώσῃ ἐν καιρῷ ,
Humiliamini igitur sub potenti manu Dei , ut vos exaltet in tempore visitationis :
አትሕቱ እንከ ርእሰክሙ ታሕተ እዴሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ጽንዕት ከመ ያልዕልክሙ አመ ይሔውጸክሙ ።
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time,
5:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ πᾶσαν τὴν μέριμναν ὑμῶν ἐπιρίψαντες ἐπ’ αὐτόν , ὅτι αὐτῷ μέλει περὶ ὑμῶν .
omnem sollicitudinem vestram projicientes in eum , quoniam ipsi cura est de vobis .
ወኵሎ ኅሊናክሙ ግድፉ ላዕሌሁ እስመ ውእቱ ይኄሊ በእንቲኣክሙ ።
casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
5:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ Νήψατε , γρηγορήσατε . ὁ ἀντίδικος ὑμῶν διάβολος ὡς λέων ὠρυόμενος περιπατεῖ ζητῶν τίνα καταπιεῖν ·
Sobrii estote , et vigilate : quia adversarius vester diabolus tamquam leo rugiens circuit , quaerens quem devoret :
ጥበቡ እንከ ወአጥብቡ ልበክሙ እስመ ጸላኢክሙ ጋኔን ይጥሕር ከመ አንበሳ ወየኀሥሥ ዘይውኅጥ ።
Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
5:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ᾧ ἀντίστητε στερεοὶ τῇ πίστει , εἰδότες τὰ αὐτὰ τῶν παθημάτων τῇ ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ ὑμῶν ἀδελφότητι ἐπιτελεῖσθαι .
cui resistite fortes in fide : scientes eamdem passionem ei quae in mundo est vestrae fraternitati fieri .
አጽንዑ ቀዊመ በሃይማኖትክሙ እንዘ ተአምሩ ከመ ሕማሙ ለዝ ዓለም ትረክቦሙ ለኵሎሙ አኀዊክሙ ወአጽንዕዋ ለተፋቅሮ ።
Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
5:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ θεὸς πάσης χάριτος , ὁ καλέσας ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν αἰώνιον αὐτοῦ δόξαν ἐν Χριστῷ , ὀλίγον παθόντας αὐτὸς καταρτίσει , στηρίξει , σθενώσει , θεμελιώσει .
Deus autem omnis gratiae , qui vocavit nos in aeternam suam gloriam in Christo Jesu , modicum passos ipse perficiet , confirmabit , solidabitque .
ወእግዚአብሔርሰ ዘበኵሉ ክብር ጸውዐክሙ ውስተ ዘለዓለም ስብሐቲሁ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ወኅዳጠ ሐሚመክሙ ውእቱ ይፌጽም ለክሙ ወያጸንዐክሙ ወያሌብወክሙ ።
But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
5:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ αὐτῷ τὸ κράτος εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων , ἀμήν .
Ipsi gloria , et imperium in saecula saeculorum . Amen .
ውእቱ ዘሎቱ ስብሐት ወኀይል ለዓለመ ዓለም አሜን ።
To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
5:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ Διὰ Σιλουανοῦ ὑμῖν τοῦ πιστοῦ ἀδελφοῦ , ὡς λογίζομαι , δι’ ὀλίγων ἔγραψα , παρακαλῶν καὶ ἐπιμαρτυρῶν ταύτην εἶναι ἀληθῆ χάριν τοῦ θεοῦ · εἰς ἣν στῆτε .
Per Silvanum fidelem fratrem vobis , ut arbitror , breviter scripsi : obsecrans et contestans , hanc esse veram gratiam Dei , in qua statis .
ምስለ ስልዋኖስ እኁነ ምእመን በከመ ኀለይኩ ኅዳጠ ጸሐፍኩ ለክሙ እንዘ አስተበቍዐክሙ ወእከውን ስምዐ ከመ በአማን ስብሐቲሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ዛቲ እንተ ባቲ ትቀውሙ ።
Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.
5:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀσπάζεται ὑμᾶς ἡ ἐν Βαβυλῶνι συνεκλεκτὴ καὶ Μᾶρκος ὁ υἱός μου .
Salutat vos ecclesia quae est in Babylone coëlecta , et Marcus filius meus .
ትኤምኀክሙ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ኅሪት እንተ ውስተ ባቢሎን ዘግብጽ ወማርቆስ ወልድየ ።
She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, greets you. So does Mark, my son.
5:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀσπάσασθε ἀλλήλους ἐν φιλήματι ἀγάπης . Εἰρήνη ὑμῖν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἐν Χριστῷ .
Salutate invicem in osculo sancto . Gratia vobis omnibus qui estis in Christo Jesu . Amen .
ተአምኁ በበይናቲክሙ በአምኃ ተፋቅሮ ወተሰናአዉ ኵልክሙ እለ በክርስቶስ ሀሎክሙ ጸጋ ምስለ ኵልክሙ ። አሜን ። መልአት መልእክተ ጴጥሮስ ቀዳሚት ። ወስብሐት ለእግዚአብሔር አሜን ።
Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to all of you who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
