27:1
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר דָּוִד֙ אֶל־לִבּ֔וֹ עַתָּ֛ה אֶסָּפֶ֥ה יוֹם־אֶחָ֖ד בְּיַד־שָׁא֑וּל אֵֽין־לִ֨י ט֜וֹב כִּ֣י הִמָּלֵ֥ט אִמָּלֵ֣ט׀ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֗ים וְנוֹאַ֨שׁ מִמֶּ֤נִּי שָׁאוּל֙ לְבַקְשֵׁ֤נִי עוֹד֙ בְּכׇל־גְּב֣וּל יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְנִמְלַטְתִּ֖י מִיָּדֽוֹ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ λέγων νῦν προστεθήσομαι ἐν ἡμέρᾳ μιᾷ εἰς χεῖρας Σαουλ καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν μοι ἀγαθόν ἐὰν μὴ σωθῶ εἰς γῆν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἀνῇ Σαουλ τοῦ ζητεῖν με εἰς πᾶν ὅριον Ισραηλ καὶ σωθήσομαι ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτοῦ
Et ait David in corde suo : Aliquando incidam una die in manus Saul : nonne melius est ut fugiam, et salver in terra Philisthinorum, ut desperet Saul, cessetque me quaerere in cunctis finibus Israël ? fugiam ergo manus ejus.
ወይቤ፡ ዳዊት፡ በልቡ፡ እንዘ፡ ይብል፡ እምይእዜሰ፡ እንከሰ፡ እመውት፡ አሐተ፡ ዕለተ፡ በእዴሁ፡ ለሳኦል፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘይኄይሰኒ፡ እንበለ፡ አምስጦ፡ ውስተ፡ ብሔረ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ ወለእመ፡ መጽአ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ወኀሠሠኒ፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ደወለ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወኣመስጥ፡ እምእዴሁ።
David said in his heart, “I will now perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me any more in all the borders of Israel. So I will escape out of his hand.”
27:2
וַיָּ֣קׇם דָּוִ֔ד וַיַּעֲבֹ֣ר ה֔וּא וְשֵׁשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת אִ֖ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עִמּ֑וֹ אֶל־אָכִ֥ישׁ בֶּן־מָע֖וֹךְ מֶ֥לֶךְ גַּֽת׃
καὶ ἀνέστη Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ τετρακόσιοι ἄνδρες μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπορεύθη πρὸς Αγχους υἱὸν Αμμαχ βασιλέα Γεθ
Et surrexit David, et abiit ipse, et sexcenti viri cum eo, ad Achis filium Maoch regem Geth.
ወተንሥአ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወ፬፻ዕደው፡ እለ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ወሖሩ፡ ኀበ፡ አንኩስ፡ ወልደ፡ አሜኅ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ጌት።
David arose and passed over, he and the six hundred men who were with him, to Achish the son of Maoch, king of Gath.
27:3
וַיֵּ֩שֶׁב֩ דָּוִ֨ד עִם־אָכִ֥ישׁ בְּגַ֛ת ה֥וּא וַאֲנָשָׁ֖יו אִ֣ישׁ וּבֵית֑וֹ דָּוִד֙ וּשְׁתֵּ֣י נָשָׁ֔יו אֲחִינֹ֙עַם֙ הַיִּזְרְעֵאלִ֔ת וַֽאֲבִיגַ֥יִל אֵֽשֶׁת־נָבָ֖ל הַֽכַּרְמְלִֽית׃
καὶ ἐκάθισεν Δαυιδ μετὰ Αγχους ἐν Γεθ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτοῦ ἕκαστος καὶ ὁ οἶκος αὐτοῦ καὶ Δαυιδ καὶ ἀμφότεραι αἱ γυναῖκες αὐτοῦ Αχινααμ ἡ Ιεζραηλῖτις καὶ Αβιγαια ἡ γυνὴ Ναβαλ τοῦ Καρμηλίου
Et habitavit David cum Achis in Geth, ipse et viri ejus : vir et domus ejus : et David, et duae uxores ejus, Achinoam Jezrahelitis, et Abigail uxor Nabal Carmeli.
ወነበረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ኀበ፡ አንኩስ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወዕደው፡ እለ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ ምስለ፡ ሰብኣ፡ ቤቶሙ፡ ወዳዊትኒ፡ ምስለ፡ ክልኤሆን፡ አንስቲያሁ፡ አኪናሖም፡ [ኢይዝ]ራኤላዊት፡ ወአቤግያ፡ ብእሲተ፡ ናባል፡ ቀርሜላዊ።
David lived with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal’s wife.
27:4
וַיֻּגַּ֣ד לְשָׁא֔וּל כִּֽי־בָרַ֥ח דָּוִ֖ד גַּ֑ת וְלֹא־[יָסַ֥ף] (יוסף) ע֖וֹד לְבַקְשֽׁוֹ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἀνηγγέλη τῷ Σαουλ ὅτι πέφευγεν Δαυιδ εἰς Γεθ καὶ οὐ προσέθετο ἔτι ζητεῖν αὐτόν
Et nuntiatum est Sauli quod fugisset David in Geth, et non addidit ultra quaerere eum.
ወዜነውዎ፡ ለሳኦል፡ ከመ፡ ተኀጥአ፡ ዳዊት፡ ውስተ፡ ጌት፡ ወኢደገመ፡ እንከ፡ ኀሢሦቶ።
Saul was told that David had fled to Gath, so he stopped looking for him.
27:5
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד אֶל־אָכִ֗ישׁ אִם־נָא֩ מָצָ֨אתִי חֵ֤ן בְּעֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ יִתְּנוּ־לִ֣י מָק֗וֹם בְּאַחַ֛ת עָרֵ֥י הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה וְאֵ֣שְׁבָה שָּׁ֑ם וְלָ֨מָּה יֵשֵׁ֧ב עַבְדְּךָ֛ בְּעִ֥יר הַמַּמְלָכָ֖ה עִמָּֽךְ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Αγχους εἰ δὴ εὕρηκεν ὁ δοῦλός σου χάριν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου δότωσαν δή μοι τόπον ἐν μιᾷ τῶν πόλεων τῶν κατ’ ἀγρὸν καὶ καθήσομαι ἐκεῖ καὶ ἵνα τί κάθηται ὁ δοῦλός σου ἐν πόλει βασιλευομένῃ μετὰ σοῦ
Dixit autem David ad Achis : Si inveni gratiam in oculis tuis, detur mihi locus in una urbium regionis hujus, ut habitem ibi : cur enim manet servus tuus in civitate regis tecum ?
ወይቤሎ፡ ዳዊት፡ ለአንኩስ፡ እመ፡ ረከበ፡ ሞገሰ፡ ገብርከ፡ ቅድመ፡ አዕይንቲከ፡ ሀበኒ፡ መካነ፡ በውስተ፡ አሐቲ፡ እምነ፡ አህጉር፡ እለ፡ ውስተ፡ ሐቅል፡ ወእነብር፡ ህየ፡ ወለምንት፡ ይነብር፡ ገብርከ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገረ፡ መንግሥት፡ ምስሌከ።
David said to Achish, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, let them give me a place in one of the cities in the country, that I may dwell there. For why should your servant dwell in the royal city with you?”
27:6
וַיִּתֶּן־ל֥וֹ אָכִ֛ישׁ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא אֶת־צִֽקְלָ֑ג לָכֵ֞ן הָיְתָ֤ה צִֽקְלַג֙ לְמַלְכֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ τὴν Σεκελακ διὰ τοῦτο ἐγενήθη Σεκελακ τῷ βασιλεῖ τῆς Ιουδαίας ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης
Dedit itaque ei Achis in die illa Siceleg : propter quam causam facta est Siceleg regum Juda usque in diem hanc.
ወወሀቦ፡ ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ሴቄላቅሃ፡ ወኮነት፡ ሴቄላቅ፡ ለንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ እስከ፡ ዛቲ፡ ዕለት።
Then Achish gave him Ziklag that day: therefore Ziklag belongs to the kings of Judah to this day.
27:7
וַֽיְהִי֙ מִסְפַּ֣ר הַיָּמִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־יָשַׁ֥ב דָּוִ֖ד בִּשְׂדֵ֣ה פְלִשְׁתִּ֑ים יָמִ֖ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֥ה חֳדָשִֽׁים׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ὁ ἀριθμὸς τῶν ἡμερῶν ὧν ἐκάθισεν Δαυιδ ἐν ἀγρῷ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων τέσσαρας μῆνας
Fuit autem numerus dierum quibus habitavit David in regione Philisthinorum, quatuor mensium.
ወኮነ፡ ኍልቄ፡ መዋዕል፡ ዘነበረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ውስተ፡ ሐቅለ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ ፬አውራኀ።
The number of the days that David lived in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.
27:8
וַיַּ֤עַל דָּוִד֙ וַאֲנָשָׁ֔יו וַֽיִּפְשְׁט֛וּ אֶל־הַגְּשׁוּרִ֥י (והגרזי) [וְהַגִּזְרִ֖י] וְהָעֲמָלֵקִ֑י כִּ֣י הֵ֜נָּה יֹשְׁב֤וֹת הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר מֵעוֹלָ֔ם בּוֹאֲךָ֥ שׁ֖וּרָה וְעַד־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
καὶ ἀνέβαινεν Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπετίθεντο ἐπὶ πάντα τὸν Γεσιρι καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν Αμαληκίτην καὶ ἰδοὺ ἡ γῆ κατῳκεῖτο ἀπὸ ἀνηκόντων ἡ ἀπὸ Γελαμψουρ τετειχισμένων καὶ ἕως γῆς Αἰγύπτου
Et ascendit David et viri ejus, et agebant praedas de Gessuri, et de Gerzi, et de Amalecitis : hi enim pagi habitabantur in terra antiquitus, euntibus Sur usque ad terram Aegypti.
ወዐርገ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወሰብእ፡ እለ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ወፀብኡ፡ ኵሎ፡ ብሔረ፡ ጌሴሪ፡ ወዐማሌቅ፡ ወረከብዎሙ፡ ንቡራነ፡ ወእለ፡ ውስተ፡ ጌላምሱር፡ ወእለ፡ አኔቆንጦን፡ ወአህጉረ፡ ቅጽር፡ ወእስከ፡ ብሔረ፡ ግብጽ።
David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites; for those were the inhabitants of the land who were of old, on the way to Shur, even to the land of Egypt.
27:9
וְהִכָּ֤ה דָוִד֙ אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ וְלֹ֥א יְחַיֶּ֖ה אִ֣ישׁ וְאִשָּׁ֑ה וְלָקַח֩ צֹ֨אן וּבָקָ֜ר וַחֲמֹרִ֤ים וּגְמַלִּים֙ וּבְגָדִ֔ים וַיָּ֖שׇׁב וַיָּבֹ֥א אֶל־אָכִֽישׁ׃
καὶ ἔτυπτε τὴν γῆν καὶ οὐκ ἐζωογόνει ἄνδρα καὶ γυναῖκα καὶ ἐλάμβανεν ποίμνια καὶ βουκόλια καὶ ὄνους καὶ καμήλους καὶ ἱματισμόν καὶ ἀνέστρεψαν καὶ ἤρχοντο πρὸς Αγχους
Et percutiebat David omnem terram, nec relinquebat viventem virum et mulierem : tollensque oves, et boves, et asinos, et camelos, et vestes, revertebatur, et veniebat ad Achis.
ወቀተልዎሙ፡ ለውእቱ፡ ብሔር፡ ወኢያሕየዉ፡ ወኢተባዕተ፡ ወኢአንስተ፡ ወነሥኡ፡ መራዕየ፡ ወአዕጻዳተ፡ ወአእዱገ፡ ወአግማለ፡ ወአልባስ፡ ወተመይጡ፡ ወአተዉ፡ ወበጽሑ፡ ኀበ፡ አንኩስ።
David struck the land, and saved no man or woman alive, and took away the sheep, the cattle, the donkeys, the camels, and the clothing. Then he returned, and came to Achish.
27:10
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אָכִ֔ישׁ אַל־פְּשַׁטְתֶּ֖ם הַיּ֑וֹם וַיֹּ֣אמֶר דָּוִ֗ד עַל־נֶ֤גֶב יְהוּדָה֙ וְעַל־נֶ֣גֶב הַיְּרַחְמְאֵלִ֔י וְאֶל־נֶ֖גֶב הַקֵּינִֽי׃
καὶ εἶπεν Αγχους πρὸς Δαυιδ ἐπὶ τίνα ἐπέθεσθε σήμερον καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ πρὸς Αγχους κατὰ νότον τῆς Ιουδαίας καὶ κατὰ νότον Ιεσμεγα καὶ κατὰ νότον τοῦ Κενεζι
Dicebat autem ei Achis : In quem irruisti hodie ? Respondebat David : Contra meridiem Judae, et contra meridiem Jerameel, et contra meridiem Ceni.
ወይቤሎ፡ ኦንኩስ፡ ለዳዊት፡ መነ፡ ፀባእክሙ፡ ዮም፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ዳዊት፡ ለአንኩስ፡ መንገለ፡ አዜቦሙ፡ ለይሁዳ፡ ወመንገለ፡ አዜቦሙ፡ ለኢያሴሜጥ፡ ወመንገለ፡ ኦዜቦሙ፡ ለቄኔዝ።
Achish said, “Against whom have you made a raid today?” David said, “Against the South of Judah, against the South of the Jerahmeelites, and against the South of the Kenites.”
27:11
וְאִ֨ישׁ וְאִשָּׁ֜ה לֹא־יְחַיֶּ֣ה דָוִ֗ד לְהָבִ֥יא גַת֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר פֶּן־יַגִּ֥דוּ עָלֵ֖ינוּ לֵאמֹ֑ר כֹּֽה־עָשָׂ֤ה דָוִד֙ וְכֹ֣ה מִשְׁפָּט֔וֹ כׇּ֨ל־הַיָּמִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר יָשַׁ֖ב בִּשְׂדֵ֥ה פְלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
καὶ ἄνδρα καὶ γυναῖκα οὐκ ἐζωογόνησεν τοῦ εἰσαγαγεῖν εἰς Γεθ λέγων μὴ ἀναγγείλωσιν εἰς Γεθ καθ’ ἡμῶν λέγοντες τάδε Δαυιδ ποιεῖ καὶ τόδε τὸ δικαίωμα αὐτοῦ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἃς ἐκάθητο Δαυιδ ἐν ἀγρῷ τῶν ἀλλοφύλων
Virum et mulierem non vivificabat David, nec adducebat in Geth, dicens : Ne forte loquantur adversum nos : Haec fecit David : et hoc erat decretum illi omnibus diebus quibus habitavit in regione Philisthinorum.
ወኢያሕየውነ፡ ኢዕዶሙ፡ ወኢአንስቶሙ፡ ዘናመጽእ፡ ውስተ፡ ጌት፡ ከመ፡ ኢይዜንዉ፡ ላዕሌነ፡ ወኢይበሉ፡ ከመዝ፡ ገብረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወከመዝ፡ ከፀነነ፡ ዳዊት፡ በኵሉ፡ መዋዕል፡ በነበረ፡ ዳዊት፡ ውስተ፡ ሐቅለ፡ ኢሎፍሊ።
David saved neither man nor woman alive to bring them to Gath, saying, “Lest they should tell about us, saying, ‘David did this, and this has been his way all the time he has lived in the country of the Philistines.’”
27:12
וַיַּאֲמֵ֥ן אָכִ֖ישׁ בְּדָוִ֣ד לֵאמֹ֑ר הַבְאֵ֤שׁ הִבְאִישׁ֙ בְּעַמּ֣וֹ בְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְהָ֥יָה לִ֖י לְעֶ֥בֶד עוֹלָֽם׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐπιστεύθη Δαυιδ ἐν τῷ Αγχους σφόδρα λέγων ᾔσχυνται αἰσχυνόμενος ἐν τῷ λαῷ αὐτοῦ ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ ἔσται μοι δοῦλος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
Credidit ergo Achis David, dicens : Multa mala operatus est contra populum suum Israël : erit igitur mihi servus sempiternus.
ወተአመነ፡ ዳዊት፡ በኀበ፡ አንኩስ፡ እንዘ፡ ይብል፡ ኀፍረተ፡ የኀፍር፡ እምሕዝቡ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወይከውነኒ፡ እንክ፡ ገብረ፡ እስከ፡ ለዓለም።
Achish believed David, saying, “He has made his people Israel utterly to abhor him. Therefore he will be my servant forever.”
