4:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τὸ δὲ πνεῦμα ῥητῶς λέγει ὅτι ἐν ὑστέροις καιροῖς ἀποστήσονταί τινες τῆς πίστεως , προσέχοντες πνεύμασιν πλάνοις καὶ διδασκαλίαις δαιμονίων ,
Spiritus autem manifeste dicit , quia in novissimis temporibus discedent quidam a fide , attendentes spiritibus erroris , et doctrinis daemoniorum ,
ወመንፈስ ገሃደ ይነግር ከመ በደኃሪ መዋዕል የዐልዉ ሃይማኖቶሙ ብዙኃን ወይተልውዎሙ ለአጋንንት እኩያን ወመስሕታን ወትምህርተ ሰይጣን ዘያናፍቅ ።
But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,
4:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ὑποκρίσει ψευδολόγων , κεκαυστηριασμένων τὴν ἰδίαν συνείδησιν ,
in hypocrisi loquentium mendacium , et cauteriatam habentium suam conscientiam ,
ነባብያነ ሐሰት እለ ንዱዳን በኅሊናሆሙ ።
through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron,
4:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ κωλυόντων γαμεῖν , ἀπέχεσθαι βρωμάτων ἃ ὁ θεὸς ἔκτισεν εἰς μετάλημψιν μετὰ εὐχαριστίας τοῖς πιστοῖς καὶ ἐπεγνωκόσι τὴν ἀλήθειαν .
prohibentium nubere , abstinere a cibis , quod Deus creavit ad percipiendum cum gratiarum actione fidelibus , et iis qui cognoverunt veritatem .
እለ የሐርሙ አውስቦ ወይከልኡ መባልዕተ ዘእግዚአብሔር ፈጠረ ለምእመናን ከመ ይሴሰዩ ወያእኵቱ እለ የአምርዋ ለጽድቅ ።
forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
4:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι πᾶν κτίσμα θεοῦ καλόν , καὶ οὐδὲν ἀπόβλητον μετὰ εὐχαριστίας λαμβανόμενον ,
Quia omnis creatura Dei bona est , et nihil rejiciendum quod cum gratiarum actione percipitur :
እስመ ኵሉ ተግባረ እግዚአብሔር ሠናይ ወአልቦ ግዱፍ ወኢምንትኒ ለእመ ተወከፍዎ እንዘ የአኵቱ ።
For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.
4:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἁγιάζεται γὰρ διὰ λόγου θεοῦ καὶ ἐντεύξεως .
sanctificatur enim per verbum Dei , et orationem .
እስመ ይትቄደስ በቃለ እግዚአብሔር ፥ ወበጸሎት ።
For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.
4:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ταῦτα ὑποτιθέμενος τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς καλὸς ἔσῃ διάκονος Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ , ἐντρεφόμενος τοῖς λόγοις τῆς πίστεως καὶ τῆς καλῆς διδασκαλίας ᾗ παρηκολούθηκας ·
Haec proponens fratribus , bonus eris minister Christi Jesu enutritus verbis fidei , et bonae doctrinae , quam assecutus es .
ወዘንተ መሀሮሙ ለአኀዊከ ወትከውን ኅሩየ ላእከ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ እንዘ ትሴስዮሙ ቃለ ሃይማኖት ወሠናየ ትምህርተ ዘተምህርከ ።
If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine which you have followed.
4:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοὺς δὲ βεβήλους καὶ γραώδεις μύθους παραιτοῦ . γύμναζε δὲ σεαυτὸν πρὸς εὐσέβειαν ·
Ineptas autem , et aniles fabulas devita : exerce autem teipsum ad pietatem .
ወለመሐደምተ ዕቤራትሰ ርኩስ እበዮ ወአግርር ርእሰከ ለጽድቅ ።
But refuse profane and old wives’ fables. Exercise yourself toward godliness.
4:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡ γὰρ σωματικὴ γυμνασία πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶν ὠφέλιμος , ἡ δὲ εὐσέβεια πρὸς πάντα ὠφέλιμός ἐστιν , ἐπαγγελίαν ἔχουσα ζωῆς τῆς νῦν καὶ τῆς μελλούσης .
Nam corporalis exercitatio , ad modicum utilis est : pietas autem ad omnia utilis est , promissionem habens vitae , quae nunc est , et futurae .
እስመ ግረትሰ በሥጋ ለኅዳጥ ዘመን ትበቍዕ ወጽድቅሰ ታሰልጥ በኵሉ ወባቲ ተስፋ ሕይወት በዝ ዓለም ወበዘይመጽእ ።
For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now and of that which is to come.
4:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ πιστὸς ὁ λόγος καὶ πάσης ἀποδοχῆς ἄξιος ·
Fidelis sermo , et omni acceptione dignus .
እሙን ነገሩ ወርቱዕ ይትወከፍዎ በኵሉ ።
This saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance.
4:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰς τοῦτο γὰρ κοπιῶμεν καὶ ἀγωνιζόμεθα , ὅτι ἠλπίκαμεν ἐπὶ θεῷ ζῶντι , ὅς ἐστιν σωτὴρ πάντων ἀνθρώπων , μάλιστα πιστῶν .
In hoc enim laboramus , et maledicimur , quia speramus in Deum vivum , qui est Salvator omnium hominum , maxime fidelium .
እስመ በእንተዝ ንሰርሕ ወንጼአል እስመ ተወከልነ በእግዚአብሔር ሕያው ወማሕየዊ ለኵሉ ሰብእ ወፈድፋደሰ ለመሃይምናን ።
For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.
4:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ Παράγγελλε ταῦτα καὶ δίδασκε .
Praecipe haec , et doce .
ከመዝ መሀር ወገሥጽ ።
Command and teach these things.
4:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ μηδείς σου τῆς νεότητος καταφρονείτω , ἀλλὰ τύπος γίνου τῶν πιστῶν ἐν λόγῳ , ἐν ἀναστροφῇ , ἐν ἀγάπῃ , ἐν πίστει , ἐν ἁγνείᾳ .
Nemo adolescentiam tuam contemnat : sed exemplum esto fidelium in verbo , in conversatione , in caritate , in fide , in castitate .
ወአልቦ ዘያስተአብዳ ለውርዙትከ ወኩኖሙ አርኣያ ወአምሳለ ለመሃይምናን በቃልከ ወበምግባሪከ በፍቅር ወበሃይማኖት ወበንጽሕ ።
Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.
4:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἕως ἔρχομαι πρόσεχε τῇ ἀναγνώσει , τῇ παρακλήσει , τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ .
Dum venio , attende lectioni , exhortationi , et doctrinae .
ወተዐቀብ እስከ እመጽእ በአንብቦ ወበምሂር ወበገሥጾ ወበጸልዮ ።
Until I come, pay attention to reading, to exhortation, and to teaching.
4:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ μὴ ἀμέλει τοῦ ἐν σοὶ χαρίσματος , ὃ ἐδόθη σοι διὰ προφητείας μετὰ ἐπιθέσεως τῶν χειρῶν τοῦ πρεσβυτερίου .
Noli negligere gratiam , quae in te est , quae data est tibi per prophetiam , cum impositione manuum presbyterii .
ወኢታስትት ጸጋሁ ዘላዕሌከ ዘተውህበከ ምስለ ተነብዮ ወምስለ ሢመተ እዴሆሙ ለጳጳሳት ።
Don’t neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the elders.
4:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ταῦτα μελέτα , ἐν τούτοις ἴσθι , ἵνα σου ἡ προκοπὴ φανερὰ ᾖ πᾶσιν .
Haec meditare , in his esto : ut profectus tuus manifestus sit omnibus .
ዘንተ አንብብ ወበዝ ሀሉ ከመ ይትዐወቅ ስላጤከ በኵለሄ ።
Be diligent in these things. Give yourself wholly to them, that your progress may be revealed to all.
4:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔπεχε σεαυτῷ καὶ τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ · ἐπίμενε αὐτοῖς · τοῦτο γὰρ ποιῶν καὶ σεαυτὸν σώσεις καὶ τοὺς ἀκούοντάς σου .
Attende tibi , et doctrinae : insta in illis . Hoc enim faciens , et teipsum salvum facies , et eos qui te audiunt .
ዑቅ እንከ ርእሰከ በእንተ አንብቦ ወዘልፈ ሀሉ ባቲ ወእመሰ ዘንተ ገበርከ ርእሰከሂ ታድኅን ወዘሂ ይሰምዐከ ።
Pay attention to yourself and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
