23:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀτενίσας δὲ τῷ συνεδρίῳ ὁ Παῦλος εἶπεν , ἄνδρες ἀδελφοί , ἐγὼ πάσῃ συνειδήσει ἀγαθῇ πεπολίτευμαι τῷ θεῷ ἄχρι ταύτης τῆς ἡμέρας .
Intendens autem in concilium Paulus , ait : Viri fratres , ego omni conscientia bona conversatus sum ante Deum usque in hodiernum diem .
ወነጺሮ ጳውሎስ ዐውደ ይቤሎሙ አንሰኬ ኦ አኀውየ በኵሉ ትምህርት ሠናይ ተፀመድክዎ ለእግዚአብሔር እስከ ዛቲ ዕለት ።
Paul, looking steadfastly at the council, said, “Brothers, I have lived before God in all good conscience until today.”
23:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἀρχιερεὺς Ἀνανίας ἐπέταξεν τοῖς παρεστῶσιν αὐτῷ τύπτειν αὐτοῦ τὸ στόμα .
Princeps autem sacerdotum Ananias praecepit astantibus sibi percutere os ejus .
ወአዘዘ ሊቀ ካህናት ሐናንያ ይጽፍዕዎ አፉሁ ለጳውሎስ ።
The high priest, Ananias, commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.
23:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε ὁ Παῦλος πρὸς αὐτὸν εἶπεν · τύπτειν σε μέλλει ὁ θεός , τοῖχε κεκονιαμένε · καὶ σὺ κάθῃ κρίνων με κατὰ τὸν νόμον , καὶ παρανομῶν κελεύεις με τύπτεσθαι ;
Tunc Paulus dixit ad eum : Percutiet te Deus , paries dealbate . Et tu sedens judicas me secundum legem , et contra legem jubes me percuti ?
ወይቤሎ ጳውሎስ ሀሎ እግዚአብሔር ይጸፍዐከ በመቅሠፍተ መዓቱ ኦ ነኪር ዘትመስል አረፍተ ግብስስተ አንተሰ ነበርከ ትኰንነኒ በሕጉሂ ወዘእንበለ ሕጉሂ ወናሁ ትኤዝዝ ይዝብጡኒ ።
Then Paul said to him, “God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit to judge me according to the law, and command me to be struck contrary to the law?”
23:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ παρεστῶτες εἶπαν , τὸν ἀρχιερέα τοῦ θεοῦ λοιδορεῖς ;
Et qui astabant dixerunt : Summum sacerdotem Dei maledicis .
ወይቤልዎ ለጳውሎስ እለ ይቀውሙ በእፎ ትጼእል ሊቀ ካህናቲሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
Those who stood by said, “Do you malign God’s high priest?”
23:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔφη τε ὁ Παῦλος , οὐκ ᾔδειν , ἀδελφοί , ὅτι ἐστὶν ἀρχιερεύς · γέγραπται γὰρ ὅτι ἄρχοντα τοῦ λαοῦ σου οὐκ ἐρεῖς κακῶς .
Dixit autem Paulus : Nesciebam , fratres , quia princeps est sacerdotum . Scriptum est enim : Principem populi tui non maledices .
ወይቤሎሙ ጳውሎስ ኢያመርኩ አኀውየ ለእመ ሊቀ ካህናት ውእቱ ወይብል መጽሐፍ ኢታሕሥም ዲበ መኰንነ ሕዝብከ ።
Paul said, “I didn’t know, brothers, that he was high priest. For it is written, ‘You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”
23:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ γνοὺς δὲ ὁ Παῦλος ὅτι τὸ ἓν μέρος ἐστὶν Σαδδουκαίων τὸ δὲ ἕτερον Φαρισαίων ἔκραζεν ἐν τῷ συνεδρίῳ , ἄνδρες ἀδελφοί , ἐγὼ Φαρισαῖός εἰμι , υἱὸς Φαρισαίων · περὶ ἐλπίδος καὶ ἀναστάσεως νεκρῶν ἐγὼ κρίνομαι .
Sciens autem Paulus quia una pars esset sadducaeorum , et altera pharisaeorum , exclamavit in concilio : Viri fratres , ego pharisaeus sum , filius pharisaeorum : de spe et resurrectione mortuorum ego judicor .
ወርእዮ ጳውሎስ ከመ አሐዱ ገጽ ሰዱቃውያን ወመንፈቆሙ ፈሪሳውያን ከልሐ በውስተ ዐውድ ወይቤ አንሰ ፈሪሳዊ ወልደ ፈሪሳዊ አነ በእንተ ተስፋ ሕይወተ ሙታን እትኴነን ።
But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, “Men and brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. Concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am being judged!”
23:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦτο δὲ αὐτοῦ λαλήσαντος ἐγένετο στάσις τῶν Φαρισαίων καὶ Σαδδουκαίων , καὶ ἐσχίσθη τὸ πλῆθος .
Et cum haec dixisset , facta est dissensio inter pharisaeos et sadducaeos , et soluta est multitudo .
ወሶበ ከመዝ ይብል ተበአሱ ፈሪሳውያን ወሰዱቃውያን ወተናፈቁ ሕዝብ ።
When he had said this, an argument arose between the Pharisees and Sadducees, and the crowd was divided.
23:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ Σαδδουκαῖοι μὲν γὰρ λέγουσιν μὴ εἶναι ἀνάστασιν μήτε ἄγγελον μήτε πνεῦμα , Φαρισαῖοι δὲ ὁμολογοῦσιν τὰ ἀμφότερα .
Sadducaei enim dicunt non esse resurrectionem , neque angelum , neque spiritum : pharisaei autem utraque confitentur .
እስመ ሰዱቃውያን ይብሉ ኢየሐይዉ ሙታን ወአልቦ መልአክ ወኢመንፈስ ቅዱስ ወፈሪሳውያንሰ የአምኑ ከመ ቦ ዝንቱ ኵሉ ።
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit; but the Pharisees confess all of these.
23:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐγένετο δὲ κραυγὴ μεγάλη , καὶ ἀναστάντες τινὲς τῶν γραμματέων τοῦ μέρους τῶν Φαρισαίων διεμάχοντο λέγοντες , οὐδὲν κακὸν εὑρίσκομεν ἐν τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τούτῳ · εἰ δὲ πνεῦμα ἐλάλησεν αὐτῷ ἢ ἄγγελος
Factus est autem clamor magnus . Et surgentes quidam pharisaeorum , pugnabant , dicentes : Nihil mali invenimus in homine isto : quid si spiritus locutus est ei , aut angelus ?
ወኮነ ዐቢይ አውያት ወተንሥኡ ጸሐፍት ወፈሪሳውያን ወአኀዙ ይትአበሱ ወይትላኰዩ ወይቤሉ አልቦ ዘረከብነ እኩየ ላዕለ ዝ ብእሲ እንዳዒ ለእመ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ተናገሮ አው መልአክ ወኢንትበአስ ምስለ እግዚአብሔር ።
A great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ part stood up, and contended, saying, “We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or angel has spoken to him, let’s not fight against God!”
23:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ πολλῆς δὲ γινομένης στάσεως φοβηθεὶς ὁ χιλίαρχος μὴ διασπασθῇ ὁ Παῦλος ὑπ’ αὐτῶν ἐκέλευσεν τὸ στράτευμα καταβὰν ἁρπάσαι αὐτὸν ἐκ μέσου αὐτῶν , ἄγειν τε εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν .
Et cum magna dissensio facta esset , timens tribunus ne discerperetur Paulus ab ipsis , jussit milites descendere , et rapere eum de medio eorum , ac deducere eum in castra .
ወሶበ ተሀውኩ ፈድፋደ ፈርሀ መልአክ ኢይምሥጥዎ ለጳውሎስ ወአዘዘ ሠገራተ ይምጽኡ ወይንሥእዎ እማእከሎሙ ወይሰድዎ ኀበ ምኵናን ።
When a great argument arose, the commanding officer, fearing that Paul would be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them and bring him into the barracks.
23:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ τῇ δὲ ἐπιούσῃ νυκτὶ ἐπιστὰς αὐτῷ ὁ κύριος εἶπεν · θάρσει · ὡς γὰρ διεμαρτύρω τὰ περὶ ἐμοῦ εἰς Ἱερουσαλήμ , οὕτω σε δεῖ καὶ εἰς Ῥώμην μαρτυρῆσαι .
Sequenti autem nocte assistens ei Dominus , ait : Constans esto : sicut enim testificatus es de me in Jerusalem , sic te oportet et Romae testificari .
ወበካልእት ሌሊት አስተርአዮ እግዚእነ ለጳውሎስ ወይቤሎ ተአመን በከመ ኮንከኒ ሰማዕትየ በኢየሩሳሌም ከማሁ ሀለወከ ትኩነኒ ሰማዕትየ በሮሜሂ ።
The following night, the Lord stood by him and said, “Cheer up, Paul, for as you have testified about me at Jerusalem, so you must testify also at Rome.”
23:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ Γενομένης δὲ ἡμέρας ποιήσαντες συστροφὴν οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἀνεθεμάτισαν ἑαυτοὺς , λέγοντες μήτε φαγεῖν μήτε πιεῖν ἕως οὗ ἀποκτείνωσιν τὸν Παῦλον .
Facta autem die collegerunt se quidam ex Judaeis , et devoverunt , se dicentes neque manducaturos , neque bibituros donec occiderent Paulum .
ወጸቢሖ ተጋብኡ አይሁድ ወተማሐሉ ወተሰካተዩ ወሐረሙ ኅብስተ ወማየ ወይቤሉ ኢንብላዕ ወኢንስተይ እስከ ንቀትሎ ለጳውሎስ ።
When it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul.
23:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἦσαν δὲ πλείους τεσσεράκοντα οἱ ταύτην τὴν συνωμοσίαν ποιησάμενοι ·
Erant autem plus quam quadraginta viri qui hanc conjurationem fecerant :
ወእለሰ ከመዝ ተማሐሉ ይበዝኁ እምአርብዓ ብእሲ ።
There were more than forty people who had made this conspiracy.
23:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἵτινες προσελθόντες τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν καὶ τοῖς πρεσβυτέροις εἶπαν , ἀναθέματι ἀνεθεματίσαμεν ἑαυτοὺς μηδενὸς γεύσασθαι ἕως οὗ ἀποκτείνωμεν τὸν Παῦλον .
qui accesserunt ad principes sacerdotum et seniores , et dixerunt : Devotione devovimus nos nihil gustaturos , donec occidamus Paulum .
እሙንቱሰ ሖሩ ኀበ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወረበናት ወይቤልዎሙ ናሁኬ ተማሐልነ ወተሰካተይነ ከመ ኢንብላዕ ወኢንስተይ እስከ ንቅትሎ ለጳውሎስ ።
They came to the chief priests and the elders, and said, “We have bound ourselves under a great curse to taste nothing until we have killed Paul.
23:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ νῦν οὖν ὑμεῖς ἐμφανίσατε τῷ χιλιάρχῳ σὺν τῷ συνεδρίῳ ὅπως καταγάγῃ αὐτὸν εἰς ὑμᾶς ὡς μέλλοντας διαγινώσκειν ἀκριβέστερον τὰ περὶ αὐτοῦ · ἡμεῖς δὲ πρὸ τοῦ ἐγγίσαι αὐτὸν ἕτοιμοί ἐσμεν τοῦ ἀνελεῖν αὐτόν .
Nunc ergo vos notum facite tribuno cum concilio , ut producat illum ad vos , tamquam aliquid certius cognituri de eo . Nos vero priusquam appropiet , parati sumus interficere illum .
ወይእዜኒ ሑሩ ኀበ መልአክ ወበልዎ ከመ ያምጽኦ ለጳውሎስ ኀቤክሙ ከመ ዘተሐትትዎ ወትጤይቅዎ ወንሕነሰ ጥቡዓን ንሕነ ንቅትሎ ዘእንበለ ይብጻሕ ኀቤክሙ ።
Now therefore, you with the council inform the commanding officer that he should bring him down to you tomorrow, as though you were going to judge his case more exactly. We are ready to kill him before he comes near.”
23:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀκούσας δὲ ὁ υἱὸς τῆς ἀδελφῆς Παύλου τὴν ἐνέδραν παραγενόμενος καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν ἀπήγγειλεν τῷ Παύλῳ .
Quod cum audisset filius sororis Pauli insidias , venit , et intravit in castra , nuntiavitque Paulo .
ወሰሚዖ ወልደ እኅቱ ለጳውሎስ ምክሮሙ ሖረ ወቦአ ቤተ ሞቅሕ ወነገሮ ለጳውሎስ ።
But Paul’s sister’s son heard they were lying in wait, and he came and entered into the barracks and told Paul.
23:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ προσκαλεσάμενος δὲ ὁ Παῦλος ἕνα τῶν ἑκατονταρχῶν ἔφη , τὸν νεανίαν τοῦτον ἄπαγε πρὸς τὸν χιλίαρχον , ἔχει γὰρ τι ἀπαγγεῖλαι αὐτῷ .
Vocans autem Paulus ad se unum ex centurionibus , ait : Adolescentem hunc perduc ad tribunum , habet enim aliquid indicare illi .
ወጸውዖ ጳውሎስ ለሐቢ ወይቤሎ አብጽሖ ሊተ ኀበ መልአክ ለዝ ወልድ እስመ ቦ ነገር ዘይነግሮ ።
Paul summoned one of the centurions and said, “Bring this young man to the commanding officer, for he has something to tell him.”
23:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ μὲν οὖν παραλαβὼν αὐτὸν ἤγαγεν πρὸς τὸν χιλίαρχον καὶ φησίν , ὁ δέσμιος Παῦλος προσκαλεσάμενός με ἠρώτησεν τοῦτον τὸν νεανίσκον ἀγαγεῖν πρὸς σέ , ἔχοντά τι λαλῆσαί σοι .
Et ille quidem assumens eum duxit ad tribunum , et ait : Vinctus Paulus rogavit me hunc adolescentem perducere ad te , habentem aliquid loqui tibi .
ወነሥኦ ሐቢ ለወልድ ወወሰዶ ኀበ መልአክ ወይቤሎ ጳውሎስ ሙቁሕ አስተብቍዐኒ አብጽሖ ኀቤከ ለዝ ወልድ እስመ ቦ ዘይነግረከ ።
So he took him and brought him to the commanding officer and said, “Paul, the prisoner, summoned me and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you.”
23:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπιλαβόμενος δὲ τῆς χειρὸς αὐτοῦ ὁ χιλίαρχος καὶ ἀναχωρήσας κατ’ ἰδίαν ἐπυνθάνετο , τί ἐστιν ὃ ἔχεις ἀπαγγεῖλαί μοι ;
Apprehendens autem tribunus manum illius , secessit cum eo seorsum , et interrogavit illum : Quid est quod habes indicare mihi ?
ወአኀዞ መልአክ ለወልድ በእዴሁ ወአግኀሦ በባሕቲቱ ወይቤሎ ምንትኑ ነገሩ ዘታየድዐኒ ።
The commanding officer took him by the hand, and going aside, asked him privately, “What is it that you have to tell me?”
23:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπεν δὲ ὅτι οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι συνέθεντο τοῦ ἐρωτῆσαί σε ὅπως αὔριον τὸν Παῦλον καταγάγῃς εἰς τὸ συνέδριον ὡς μέλλων τι ἀκριβέστερον πυνθάνεσθαι περὶ αὐτοῦ .
Ille autem dixit : Judaeis convenit rogare te ut crastina die producas Paulum in concilium , quasi aliquid certius inquisituri sint de illo :
ወይቤሎ ከመዝ ተማከሩ አይሁድ ያስተብቍዑከ ታምጽኦ ጌሠመ ለጳውሎስ ውስተ ዐውድ ከመ ትሕትቶ ወትጠይቆ ።
He said, “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though intending to inquire somewhat more accurately concerning him.
23:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ σὺ οὖν μὴ πεισθῇς αὐτοῖς · ἐνεδρεύουσιν γὰρ αὐτὸν ἐξ αὐτῶν ἄνδρες πλείους τεσσεράκοντα , οἵτινες ἀνεθεμάτισαν ἑαυτοὺς μήτε φαγεῖν μήτε πιεῖν ἕως οὗ ἀνέλωσιν αὐτόν , καὶ νῦν εἰσιν ἕτοιμοι προσδεχόμενοι τὴν ἀπὸ σοῦ ἐπαγγελίαν .
tu vero ne credideris illis : insidiantur enim ei ex eis viri amplius quam quadraginta , qui se devoverunt non manducare , neque bibere donec interficiant eum : et nunc parati sunt , exspectantes promissum tuum .
አንተኬ ኦሆ ኢትበሎሙ እስመ ይጸንሑ ይቅትልዎ ወይበዝኁ እምአርብዓ ዕደው እለ ከመዝ ተማሐሉ ኢይብልዑ ወኢይስተዩ እስከ ይቀትልዎ ወይእዜኒ ጥቡዓን እሙንቱ ዳእሙ እስከ ትልእክ ሎሙ ይጸንሕዎ ።
Therefore don’t yield to them, for more than forty men lie in wait for him, who have bound themselves under a curse to neither eat nor drink until they have killed him. Now they are ready, looking for the promise from you.”
23:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ μὲν οὖν χιλίαρχος ἀπέλυσε τὸν νεανίσκον παραγγείλας μηδενὶ ἐκλαλῆσαι ὅτι ταῦτα ἐνεφάνισας πρός ἐμέ .
Tribunus igitur dimisit adolescentem , praecipiens ne cui loqueretur quoniam haec nota sibi fecisset .
ወእምዝ ፈነዎ መልአክ ለውእቱ ወልድ ወይቤሎ ከመ ኢይንግር ወኢለመኑሂ እምዘነገሮ ።
So the commanding officer let the young man go, charging him, “Tell no one that you have revealed these things to me.”
23:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος τινας δύο τῶν ἑκατονταρχῶν εἶπεν , ἑτοιμάσατε στρατιώτας διακοσίους ὅπως πορευθῶσιν ἕως Καισαρίας , καὶ ἱππεῖς ἑβδομήκοντα καὶ δεξιολάβους διακοσίους , ἀπὸ τρίτης ὥρας τῆς νυκτός ,
Et vocatis duobus centurionibus , dixit illis : Parate milites ducentos ut eant usque Caesaream , et equites septuaginta , et lancearios ducentos a tertia hora noctis ,
ወጸውዐ ክልኤተ እምወዓልያኒሁ ወይቤሎሙ ንሥኡ ክልኤተ ምእተ ብእሴ እምውስተ ሐራ ወሰብዓ ሰብአ አፍራስ ወክልኤተ ምእተ ሰብአ ቀስት ወይሑሩ ቂሳርያ ጊዜ ሠለስቱ ሰዓተ ሌሊት ።
He called to himself two of the centurions, and said, “Prepare two hundred soldiers to go as far as Caesarea, with seventy horsemen and two hundred men armed with spears, at the third hour of the night.”
23:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ κτήνη τε παραστῆσαι ἵνα ἐπιβιβάσαντες τὸν Παῦλον διασώσωσι πρὸς Φήλικα τὸν ἡγεμόνα ,
et jumenta praeparate ut imponentes Paulum , salvum perducerent ad Felicem praesidem .
ወአዘዞሙ ወይቤሎሙ ከመ ይንሥኡ አድገኒ ወያጽዕንዎ ለጳውሎስ ወያብጽሕዎ ኀበ ፊልክስ መልአከ ቂሳርያ ወገብሩ ከማሁ ።
He asked them to provide mounts, that they might set Paul on one, and bring him safely to Felix the governor.
23:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ γράψας ἐπιστολὴν ἔχουσαν τὸν τύπον τοῦτον ·
(Timuit enim ne forte raperent eum Judaei , et occiderent , et ipse postea calumniam sustineret , tamquam accepturus pecuniam .)
ወጸሐፈ ሎቱ መጽሐፈ እንተ ትብል ።
He wrote a letter like this:
23:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ Κλαύδιος Λυσίας τῷ κρατίστῳ ἡγεμόνι Φήλικι χαίρειν .
Scribens epistolam continentem haec : Claudius Lysias optimo praesidi Felici , salutem .
እምቀላውዴዎስ ሉስዮስ ለጽኑዕ መኰንን ፊልክስ ሰላም ለከ ።
“Claudius Lysias to the most excellent governor Felix: Greetings.
23:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ τὸν ἄνδρα τοῦτον συλλημφθέντα ὑπὸ τῶν Ἰουδαίων καὶ μέλλοντα ἀναιρεῖσθαι ὑπ’ αὐτῶν ἐπιστὰς σὺν τῷ στρατεύματι ἐξειλάμην , μαθὼν ὅτι Ῥωμαῖός ἐστιν ·
Virum hunc comprehensum a Judaeis , et incipientem interfici ab eis , superveniens cum exercitu eripui , cognito quia Romanus est .
ለዝአ ብእሲአ አኀዝዎአ አይሁድአ ወፈቀዱአ ይቅትልዎአ ወቆምኩአ ሎቱአ ምስለአ ወዓልየአ ወአድኀንክዎአ አእሚርየአ ከመ ሰብአ ሮሜአ ውእቱአ ።
“This man was seized by the Jews, and was about to be killed by them when I came with the soldiers and rescued him, having learned that he was a Roman.
23:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ βουλόμενός τε ἐπιγνῶναι τὴν αἰτίαν δι’ ἣν ἐνεκάλουν αὐτῷ κατήγαγον εἰς τὸ συνέδριον αὐτῶν ·
Volensque scire causam quam objiciebant illi , deduxi eum in concilium eorum .
ወፈቂድየ አእምር ጌጋዮ አቅረብክዎ ውስተ ዐውድ ወሐተትኩ ከመ በእንተ ምንት ያስተዋድይዎ ።
Desiring to know the cause why they accused him, I brought him down to their council.
23:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃν εὗρον ἐγκαλούμενον περὶ ζητημάτων τοῦ νόμου αὐτῶν , μηδὲν δὲ ἄξιον θανάτου ἢ δεσμῶν ἔχοντα ἔγκλημα .
Quem inveni accusari de quaestionibus legis ipsorum , nihil vero dignum morte aut vinculis habentem criminis .
ወኢረከብኩ ሎቱ ጌጋየ ወአእሚርየ ከመ በከ ያስተዋድይዎ በእንተ ሕገጊሆሙ ወአልቦ ባዕድ ጌጋይ በዘይመውት ወበዘይትሞቃሕ ።
I found him to be accused about questions of their law, but not to be charged with anything worthy of death or of imprisonment.
23:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ μηνυθείσης δέ μοι ἐπιβουλῆς εἰς τὸν ἄνδρα ἔσεσθαι , ἐξ αὐτῶν , ἔπεμψα πρὸς σέ , παραγγείλας καὶ τοῖς κατηγόροις λέγειν αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ σοῦ .
Et cum mihi perlatum esset de insidiis quas paraverant illi , misi eum ad te , denuntians et accusatoribus ut dicant apud te . Vale .
ወሶበ ጠየቁ ኀለይኩ ዘይገብሩ አይሁድ ዲበ ዝ ብእሲ በጸኒሕ ፈነውክዎ ኀቤከ ፍጡነ ወአዘዝክዎሙ ለመስተዋድያንሂ ይምጽኡ ኀቤከ ወይትኳነንዎ በቅድሜከ ዳኅነ ሀሉ ።
When I was told that the Jews lay in wait for the man, I sent him to you immediately, charging his accusers also to bring their accusations against him before you. Farewell.”
23:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οἱ μὲν οὖν στρατιῶται κατὰ τὸ διατεταγμένον αὐτοῖς ἀναλαβόντες τὸν Παῦλον ἤγαγον διὰ νυκτὸς εἰς τὴν Ἀντιπατρίδα ·
Milites ergo secundum praeceptum sibi assumentes Paulum , duxerunt per noctem in Antipatridem .
ወገብሩ ሐራ በከመ አዘዞሙ ወነሥእዎ ለጳውሎስ በሌሊት ወአብጽሕዎ አንቲጳጥሪስ ።
So the soldiers, carrying out their orders, took Paul and brought him by night to Antipatris.
23:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον ἐάσαντες τοὺς ἱππεῖς ἀπέρχεσθαι σὺν αὐτῷ ὑπέστρεψαν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν ·
Et postera die dimissis equitibus ut cum eo irent , reversi sunt ad castra .
ወበሳኒታ ተመይጡ ውስተ አህጉረ አድያም ወአውዐሉ አፍራሲሆሙ ።
But on the next day they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the barracks.
23:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἵτινες εἰσελθόντες εἰς τὴν Καισάριαν καὶ ἀναδόντες τὴν ἐπιστολὴν τῷ ἡγεμόνι παρέστησαν καὶ τὸν Παῦλον αὐτῷ .
Qui cum venissent Caesaream , et tradidissent epistolam praesidi , statuerunt ante illum et Paulum .
ወእምዝ ቦኡ እሉ ቂሳርያ ወበጽሑ ኀበ መኰንን ወመጠውዎ መጽሐፈ መልእክት ለመኰንን ወአቅረብዎ ለጳውሎስ ኀቤሁ ።
When they came to Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, they also presented Paul to him.
23:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀναγνοὺς δὲ καὶ ἐπερωτήσας ἐκ ποίας ἐπαρχείας ἐστὶν καὶ πυθόμενος ὅτι ἀπὸ Κιλικίας ,
Cum legisset autem , et interrogasset de qua provincia esset , et cognoscens quia de Cilicia :
ወአንቢቦ ሐተቶ ዘእምኵናነ መኑ ውእቱ ወአእሚሮ ከመ ዘሀገረ ቂልቅያ ውእቱ ።
When the governor had read it, he asked what province he was from. When he understood that he was from Cilicia, he said,
23:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ διακούσομαί σου , ἔφη , ὅταν καὶ οἱ κατήγοροί σου παραγένωνται · κελεύσας ἐν τῷ πραιτωρίῳ τοῦ Ἡρῴδου φυλάσσεσθαι αὐτόν .
Audiam te , inquit , cum accusatores tui venerint . Jussitque in praetorio Herodis custodiri eum .
ይቤ እንከሰ በጺሖሙ መስተዋድያን ንሰምዐከሙ ወአዘዘ ይዕቀብዎ ኀበ ምኵናነ ሄሮድስ ።
“I will hear you fully when your accusers also arrive.” He commanded that he be kept in Herod’s palace.
