38:1
וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων
Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :
ወነበበኒ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይቤለኒ።
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
38:2
בֶּן־אָדָ֗ם שִׂ֤ים פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶל־גּוֹג֙ אֶ֣רֶץ הַמָּג֔וֹג נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֣שֶׁךְ וְתֻבָ֑ל וְהִנָּבֵ֖א עָלָֽיו׃
υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ Γωγ καὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Μαγωγ ἄρχοντα Ρως Μοσοχ καὶ Θοβελ καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπ’ αὐτὸν
Fili hominis, pone faciem tuam contra Gog, terram Magog, principem capitis Mosoch et Thubal, et vaticinare de eo.
ወልደ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ አጽንዕ፡ ገጸከ፡ ላዕለ፡ ጎግ፡ ወምድረ፡ ማጎግ፡ መልአከ፡ ሮስ፡ ሜሴክ፡ ወቶቤል፡ ወተነበይ፡ ላዕሌሁ።
“Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
38:3
וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה הִנְנִ֤י אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ גּ֔וֹג נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֥שֶׁךְ וְתֻבָֽל׃
καὶ εἰπὸν αὐτῷ τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ σὲ Γωγ ἄρχοντα Ρως Μοσοχ καὶ Θοβελ
Et dices ad eum : Haec dicit Dominus Deus : Ecce ego ad te, Gog, principem capitis Mosoch et Thubal.
ወበሎ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እግዚእ፡ ናሁ፡ አነ፡ ላዕሌከ፡ ጎግ፡ መልአከ፡ ሮስሜሴክ፡ ወቶቤል።
and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against you, Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.
38:4
וְשׁ֣וֹבַבְתִּ֔יךָ וְנָתַתִּ֥י חַחִ֖ים בִּלְחָיֶ֑יךָ וְהוֹצֵאתִי֩ אוֹתְךָ֨ וְאֶת־כׇּל־חֵילֶ֜ךָ סוּסִ֣ים וּפָרָשִׁ֗ים לְבֻשֵׁ֤י מִכְלוֹל֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם קָהָ֥ל רָב֙ צִנָּ֣ה וּמָגֵ֔ן תֹּפְשֵׂ֥י חֲרָב֖וֹת כֻּלָּֽם׃
καὶ συνάξω σε καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν δύναμίν σου ἵππους καὶ ἱππεῖς ἐνδεδυμένους θώρακας πάντας συναγωγὴ πολλή πέλται καὶ περικεφαλαῖαι καὶ μάχαιραι
Et circumagam te, et ponam frenum in maxillis tuis : et educam te, et omnem exercitum tuum, equos et equites vestitos loricis universos, multitudinem magnam, hastam et clypeum arripientium et gladium.
ወአስተጋብአከ፡ ወእወዲ፡ ልጓመ፡ ውስተ፡ መላትሒከ፣፡ ወአንጎግወከ፡ ምስለ፡ ሠራዊትከ፡ አፍራሰ፡ ወመስተፅዕናነ፡ እለ፡ አልባሰ፡ ሐፂን፡ ወኵሉ፡ ተዓይን፡ ብዙኅ፡ ይእኅዙ፡ ንዋየ፡ ሐቅል፡ ወወልታ፣፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ያጸንዑ፡ ኲናተ።
I will turn you around, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, with all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them handling swords;
38:5
פָּרַ֛ס כּ֥וּשׁ וּפ֖וּט אִתָּ֑ם כֻּלָּ֖ם מָגֵ֥ן וְכוֹבָֽע׃
Πέρσαι καὶ Αἰθίοπες καὶ Λίβυες πάντες περικεφαλαίαις καὶ πέλταις
Persae, Aethiopes, et Libyes cum eis, omnes scutati et galeati.
ፋርስ፡ ወፉጥ፡ ወኢትዮጵያ፡ እሙንቱ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ሰብአ፡ ጌራ፡ ወወልታ።
Persia, Cush, and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet;
38:6
גֹּ֚מֶר וְכׇל־אֲגַפֶּ֔יהָ בֵּ֚ית תּֽוֹגַרְמָ֔ה יַרְכְּתֵ֥י צָפ֖וֹן וְאֶת־כׇּל־אֲגַפָּ֑יו עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אִתָּֽךְ׃
Γομερ καὶ πάντες οἱ περὶ αὐτόν οἶκος τοῦ Θεργαμα ἀπ’ ἐσχάτου βορρᾶ καὶ πάντες οἱ περὶ αὐτόν καὶ ἔθνη πολλὰ μετὰ σοῦ
Gomer et universa agmina ejus, domus Thogorma, latera aquilonis, et totum robur ejus, populique multi tecum.
ጎሜር፡ ወኵሉ፡ እለ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ቴርጎም፡ ጽንፈ፡ ደቡብ፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ዐውዶሙ፡ ወብዙኃን፡ አሕዛብ፡ ምስሌከ።
Gomer, and all his hordes; the house of Togarmah in the uttermost parts of the north, and all his hordes—even many peoples with you.
38:7
הִכֹּן֙ וְהָכֵ֣ן לְךָ֔ אַתָּ֕ה וְכׇל־קְהָלֶ֖ךָ הַנִּקְהָלִ֣ים עָלֶ֑יךָ וְהָיִ֥יתָ לָהֶ֖ם לְמִשְׁמָֽר׃
ἑτοιμάσθητι ἑτοίμασον σεαυτὸν σὺ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγή σου οἱ συνηγμένοι μετὰ σοῦ καὶ ἔσῃ μοι εἰς προφυλακήν
Praepara et instrue te, et omnem multitudinem tuam quae coacervata est ad te : et esto eis in praeceptum.
አጥብዕ፡ ወተደሎ፡ አንተ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ተዓይኒከ፡ ምስሌከ፡ ወትከውነኒ፡ ዕቁበ።
“‘“Be prepared, yes, prepare yourself, you, and all your companies who are assembled to you, and be a guard to them.
38:8
מִיָּמִ֣ים רַבִּים֮ תִּפָּקֵד֒ בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית הַשָּׁנִ֜ים תָּב֣וֹא׀ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ׀ מְשׁוֹבֶ֣בֶת מֵחֶ֗רֶב מְקֻבֶּ֙צֶת֙ מֵעַמִּ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים עַ֚ל הָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁר־הָי֥וּ לְחׇרְבָּ֖ה תָּמִ֑יד וְהִיא֙ מֵעַמִּ֣ים הוּצָ֔אָה וְיָשְׁב֥וּ לָבֶ֖טַח כֻּלָּֽם׃
ἀφ’ ἡμερῶν πλειόνων ἑτοιμασθήσεται καὶ ἐπ’ ἐσχάτου ἐτῶν ἐλεύσεται καὶ ἥξει εἰς τὴν γῆν τὴν ἀπεστραμμένην ἀπὸ μαχαίρας συνηγμένων ἀπὸ ἐθνῶν πολλῶν ἐπὶ γῆν Ισραηλ ἣ ἐγενήθη ἔρημος δῑ ὅλου καὶ οὗτος ἐξ ἐθνῶν ἐξελήλυθεν καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐπ’ εἰρήνης ἅπαντες
Post dies multos visitaberis : in novissimo annorum venies ad terram quae reversa est a gladio, et congregata est de populis multis ad montes Israël, qui fuerunt deserti jugiter : haec de populis educta est, et habitabunt in ea confidenter universi.
እምብዙኅ፡ መዋዕል፡ ታስተዳሉ፡ ወትመጽእ፡ እምጽንፈ፡ ዓመት፡ ወትበጽሕ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ እንተ፡ ጠፍአት፡ በኲናተ፡ አሕዛብ፣፡ እለ፡ ተጋብኡ፡ ብዙኃን፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ እስራኤል፡ እንተ፡ ማሰነት፡ ኵለንታሃ፣፡ ወከመዝ፡ ይመጽኡ፡ እምአሕዛብ፡ ወይነብሩ፡ በሰላም፡ ኵሎሙ።
After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land that is brought back from the sword, that is gathered out of many peoples, on the mountains of Israel, which have been a continual waste; but it is brought out of the peoples and they will dwell securely, all of them.
38:9
וְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ כַּשֹּׁאָ֣ה תָב֔וֹא כֶּעָנָ֛ן לְכַסּ֥וֹת הָאָ֖רֶץ תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה אַתָּה֙ וְכׇל־אֲגַפֶּ֔יךָ וְעַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אוֹתָֽךְ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἀναβήσῃ ὡς ὑετὸς καὶ ἥξεις ὡς νεφέλη κατακαλύψαι γῆν καὶ ἔσῃ σὺ καὶ πάντες οἱ περὶ σὲ καὶ ἔθνη πολλὰ μετὰ σοῦ
Ascendens autem quasi tempestas venies, et quasi nubes, ut operias terram : tu et omnia agmina tua, et populi multi tecum.
ወተዐርግ፡ ከመ፡ ዝናም፡ ወትመጽእ፡ ከመ፡ ደመና፡ ትክድና፡ ለምድር፣፡ ወትወድቅ፡ አንተ፡ ወብዙኃን፡ አሕዛብ፡ ምስሌከ።
You will ascend. You will come like a storm. You will be like a cloud to cover the land, you and all your hordes, and many peoples with you.”
38:10
כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה וְהָיָ֣ה׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יַעֲל֤וּ דְבָרִים֙ עַל־לְבָבֶ֔ךָ וְחָשַׁבְתָּ֖ מַחֲשֶׁ֥בֶת רָעָֽה׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἀναβήσεται ῥήματα ἐπὶ τὴν καρδίαν σου καὶ λογιῇ λογισμοὺς πονηροὺς
Haec dicit Dominus Deus : In die illa, ascendent sermones super cor tuum, et cogitabis cogitationem pessimam :
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እግዚእ፡ ወይከውን፡ ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ወይሔሊ፡ ነገረ፡ ልብከ፡ ወትመክር፡ ምክረ፡ እኩየ።
“‘The Lord Yahweh says: “It will happen in that day that things will come into your mind, and you will devise an evil plan.
38:11
וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ אֶֽעֱלֶה֙ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ פְּרָז֔וֹת אָבוֹא֙ הַשֹּׁ֣קְטִ֔ים יֹשְׁבֵ֖י לָבֶ֑טַח כֻּלָּ֗ם יֹֽשְׁבִים֙ בְּאֵ֣ין חוֹמָ֔ה וּבְרִ֥יחַ וּדְלָתַ֖יִם אֵ֥ין לָהֶֽם׃
καὶ ἐρεῖς ἀναβήσομαι ἐπὶ γῆν ἀπερριμμένην ἥξω ἐπὶ ἡσυχάζοντας ἐν ἡσυχίᾳ καὶ οἰκοῦντας ἐπ’ εἰρήνης πάντας κατοικοῦντας γῆν ἐν ᾗ οὐχ ὑπάρχει τεῖχος οὐδὲ μοχλοί καὶ θύραι οὐκ εἰσὶν αὐτοῖς
et dices : Ascendam ad terram absque muro : veniam ad quiescentes habitantesque secure : hi omnes habitant sine muro ; vectes et portae non sunt eis :
ወትብል፡ አዐርግ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ግድፍት፣፡ አሐውር፡ ኀበ፡ ዕሩፋን፣፡ ወያረምሙ፡ ወይነብሩ፡ በሰላም፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ እንተ፡ አልባቲ፡ አረፍት፡ ወኢመዓጹት፡ ወኢመናስግት።
You will say, ‘I will go up to the land of unwalled villages. I will go to those who are at rest, who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
38:12
לִשְׁלֹ֥ל שָׁלָ֖ל וְלָבֹ֣ז בַּ֑ז לְהָשִׁ֨יב יָדְךָ֜ עַל־חֳרָב֣וֹת נוֹשָׁב֗וֹת וְאֶל־עַם֙ מְאֻסָּ֣ף מִגּוֹיִ֔ם עֹשֶׂה֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְקִנְיָ֔ן יֹשְׁבֵ֖י עַל־טַבּ֥וּר הָאָֽרֶץ׃
προνομεῦσαι προνομὴν καὶ σκυλεῦσαι σκῦλα αὐτῶν τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι χεῖρά σου εἰς τὴν ἠρημωμένην ἣ κατῳκίσθη καὶ ἐπ’ ἔθνος συνηγμένον ἀπὸ ἐθνῶν πολλῶν πεποιηκότας κτήσεις κατοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τὸν ὀμφαλὸν τῆς γῆς
ut diripias spolia, et invadas praedam ; ut inferas manum tuam super eos qui deserti fuerant, et postea restituti, et super populum qui est congregatus ex gentibus, qui possidere coepit et esse habitator umbilici terrae.
እበረብሮሙ፡ በርበረ፡ ወእመሀርኮሙ፡ ምህርካሆሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ እንተ፡ ማሰነት፡ ትመይጥ፡ እዴከ፡ ወኀበ፡ ይነብሩ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ወሕዝብኒ፡ እለ፡ ተጋብኡ፡ ብዙኃን፡ እምበሐውርት፡ ወገብሩ፡ ሎሙ፡ ጥሪተ፣፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ኅንብርተ፡ ምድር።
to take the plunder and to take prey; to turn your hand against the waste places that are inhabited, and against the people who are gathered out of the nations, who have gotten livestock and goods, who dwell in the middle of the earth.’
38:13
שְׁבָ֡א וּ֠דְדָ֠ן וְסֹחֲרֵ֨י תַרְשִׁ֤ישׁ וְכׇל־כְּפִירֶ֙יהָ֙ יֹאמְר֣וּ לְךָ֔ הֲלִשְׁלֹ֤ל שָׁלָל֙ אַתָּ֣ה בָ֔א הֲלָבֹ֥ז בַּ֖ז הִקְהַ֣לְתָּ קְהָלֶ֑ךָ לָשֵׂ֣את׀ כֶּ֣סֶף וְזָהָ֗ב לָקַ֙חַת֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְקִנְיָ֔ן לִשְׁלֹ֖ל שָׁלָ֥ל גָּדֽוֹל׃ {ס}
Σαβα καὶ Δαιδαν καὶ ἔμποροι Καρχηδόνιοι καὶ πᾶσαι αἱ κῶμαι αὐτῶν ἐροῦσίν σοι εἰς προνομὴν τοῦ προνομεῦσαι σὺ ἔρχῃ καὶ σκυλεῦσαι σκῦλα συνήγαγες συναγωγήν σου λαβεῖν ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον ἀπενέγκασθαι κτῆσιν τοῦ σκυλεῦσαι σκῦλα
Saba, et Dedan, et negotiatores Tharsis, et omnes leones ejus, dicent tibi : Numquid ad sumenda spolia tu venis ? ecce ad diripiendam praedam congregasti multitudinem tuam, ut tollas argentum et aurum, et auferas supellectilem atque substantiam, et diripias manubias infinitas.
ሳባዕ፡ ወዴዳን፡ ወእለ፡ ይትናገዱ፡ ተርሴስ፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ አዕጻዳቲሆሙ፡ ይብሉከ፡ ትበረብረነኑ፡ በርበረ፡ መጻእከ፡ አንተ፡ ወትማህርክ፡ ምህርካ፡ አስተጋባእከ፡ ተዓይኒከ፡ ወትንሣእ፡ ወርቀ፡ ወብሩረ፡ ወትሰድ፡ ጥሪተ፡ ይኩንከ፡ ሕብልያ፡ ዘሐብለይከ።
Sheba, Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all its young lions, will ask you, ‘Have you come to take the plunder? Have you assembled your company to take the prey, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’”’
38:14
לָכֵן֙ הִנָּבֵ֣א בֶן־אָדָ֔ם וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ לְג֔וֹג כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה הֲל֣וֹא׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא בְּשֶׁ֨בֶת עַמִּ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל לָבֶ֖טַח תֵּדָֽע׃
διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου καὶ εἰπὸν τῷ Γωγ τάδε λέγει κύριος οὐκ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἐν τῷ κατοικισθῆναι τὸν λαόν μου Ισραηλ ἐπ’ εἰρήνης ἐγερθήσῃ
Propterea vaticinare, fili hominis, et dices ad Gog : Haec dicit Dominus Deus : Numquid non in die illo, cum habitaverit populus meus Israël confidenter, scies ?
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ተነበይ፡ ወልደ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ ወበሎ፡ ለጎግ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እግዚእ፡ አኮኑ፡ በእንታክቲ፡ ዕለት፡ አመ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ሕዝብየ፡ እስራኤል፡ በሰላም፡ ትትነሣእ።
“Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and tell Gog, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “In that day when my people Israel dwells securely, will you not know it?
38:15
וּבָ֤אתָ מִמְּקֽוֹמְךָ֙ מִיַּרְכְּתֵ֣י צָפ֔וֹן אַתָּ֕ה וְעַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אִתָּ֑ךְ רֹכְבֵ֤י סוּסִים֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם קָהָ֥ל גָּד֖וֹל וְחַ֥יִל רָֽב׃
καὶ ἥξεις ἐκ τοῦ τόπου σου ἀπ’ ἐσχάτου βορρᾶ καὶ ἔθνη πολλὰ μετὰ σοῦ ἀναβάται ἵππων πάντες συναγωγὴ μεγάλη καὶ δύναμις πολλή
Et venies de loco tuo a lateribus aquilonis, tu et populi multi tecum, ascensores equorum universi : coetus magnus, et exercitus vehemens.
ወትመጽእ፡ እምብሔርከ፣፡ እምጽንፈ፡ ደቡብ፡ ወብዙኃን፡ አሕዛብ፡ ምስሌከ፡ መስተፅዕናነ፡ አፍራስ፡ ኵሎሙ፣፡ ብዙኅ፡ ተዓይን፡ ወብዙኅ፡ ሠራዊት።
You will come from your place out of the uttermost parts of the north, you, and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army.
38:16
וְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ עַל־עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כֶּעָנָ֖ן לְכַסּ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית הַיָּמִ֜ים תִּהְיֶ֗ה וַהֲבִאוֹתִ֙יךָ֙ עַל־אַרְצִ֔י לְמַ֩עַן֩ דַּ֨עַת הַגּוֹיִ֜ם אֹתִ֗י בְּהִקָּדְשִׁ֥י בְךָ֛ לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם גּֽוֹג׃ {ס}
καὶ ἀναβήσῃ ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου Ισραηλ ὡς νεφέλη καλύψαι γῆν ἐπ’ ἐσχάτων τῶν ἡμερῶν ἔσται καὶ ἀνάξω σε ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν μου ἵνα γνῶσιν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐμὲ ἐν τῷ ἁγιασθῆναί με ἐν σοὶ ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν
Et ascendes super populum meum Israël quasi nubes, ut operias terram. In novissimis diebus eris, et adducam te super terram meam : ut sciant gentes me cum sanctificatus fuero in te in oculis eorum, o Gog !
ወተዐርግ፡ ኀበ፡ ሕዝብየ፡ እስራኤል፡ ከመ፡ ደመና፡ ትከድና፡ ለምድር። በደኃሪ፡ መዋዕል፡ ይከውን፡ ወአዐርገከ፡ ዲበ፡ ምድርየ፡ ከመ፡ ያእምሩኒ፡ ኵሉ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ሶበ፡ ተቀደስኩ፡ ብከ፡ ጎግ፡ በቅድሜሆሙ።
You will come up against my people Israel as a cloud to cover the land. It will happen in the latter days that I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me when I am sanctified in you, Gog, before their eyes.”
38:17
כֹּה־אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֗ה הַאַתָּה־ה֨וּא אֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּ֜רְתִּי בְּיָמִ֣ים קַדְמוֹנִ֗ים בְּיַד֙ עֲבָדַי֙ נְבִיאֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַֽנִּבְּאִ֛ים בַּיָּמִ֥ים הָהֵ֖ם שָׁנִ֑ים לְהָבִ֥יא אֹתְךָ֖ עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ {ס}
τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος τῷ Γωγ σὺ εἶ περὶ οὗ ἐλάλησα πρὸ ἡμερῶν τῶν ἔμπροσθεν διὰ χειρὸς τῶν δούλων μου προφητῶν τοῦ Ισραηλ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ ἔτεσιν τοῦ ἀγαγεῖν σε ἐπ’ αὐτούς
Haec dicit Dominus Deus : Tu ergo ille es, de quo locutus sum in diebus antiquis in manu servorum meorum prophetarum Israël, qui prophetaverunt in diebus illorum temporum, ut adducerem te super eos.
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እግዚእ፡ ለጎግ፡ አንተኑ፡ ዘበእንቲአከ፡ ነበብኩ፡ በቀዳሚ፡ መዋዕል፡ በእደ፡ አግብርትየ፡ ነቢያተ፡ እስራኤል፡ እለ፡ ተነበዩ፡ በእማንቱ፡ መዋዕል፡ ወዓመት፡ ወእወስደከ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ።
“‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Are you he of whom I spoke in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for years that I would bring you against them?
38:18
וְהָיָ֣ה׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא בְּי֨וֹם בּ֥וֹא גוֹג֙ עַל־אַדְמַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה תַּעֲלֶ֥ה חֲמָתִ֖י בְּאַפִּֽי׃
καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἂν ἔλθῃ Γωγ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ισραηλ λέγει κύριος κύριος ἀναβήσεται ὁ θυμός μου
Et erit in die illa, in die adventus Gog super terram Israël, ait Dominus Deus, ascendet indignatio mea in furore meo.
ወይከውን፡ ይእተ፡ አሚረ፣፡ አመ፡ ይመጽእ፡ ጎግ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድረ፡ እስራኤል፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እግዚእ፣፡ ተዐርግ፡ መቅሠፍትየ፡ በመዐትየ፡ ወበቅንአትየ።
It will happen in that day, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord Yahweh, “that my wrath will come up into my nostrils.
38:19
וּבְקִנְאָתִ֥י בְאֵשׁ־עֶבְרָתִ֖י דִּבַּ֑רְתִּי אִם־לֹ֣א׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִֽהְיֶה֙ רַ֣עַשׁ גָּד֔וֹל עַ֖ל אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ὁ ζῆλός μου ἐν πυρὶ τῆς ὀργῆς μου ἐλάλησα εἰ μὴν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔσται σεισμὸς μέγας ἐπὶ γῆς Ισραηλ
Et in zelo meo, in igne irae meae locutus sum, quia in die illa erit commotio magna super terram Israël :
በእሳተ፡ መዐትየ፡ ነበብኩ፡ ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ይከውን፡ ዓቢይ፡ ድልቅልቅ፡ ውስተ፡ በሐውርተ፡ እስራኤል።
For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath I have spoken. Surely in that day there will be a great shaking in the land of Israel,
38:20
וְרָעֲשׁ֣וּ מִפָּנַ֡י דְּגֵ֣י הַיָּם֩ וְע֨וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם וְחַיַּ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה וְכׇל־הָרֶ֙מֶשׂ֙ הָרֹמֵ֣שׂ עַל־הָאֲדָמָ֔ה וְכֹל֙ הָאָדָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הָאֲדָמָ֑ה וְנֶהֶרְס֣וּ הֶהָרִ֗ים וְנָֽפְלוּ֙ הַמַּדְרֵג֔וֹת וְכׇל־חוֹמָ֖ה לָאָ֥רֶץ תִּפּֽוֹל׃
καὶ σεισθήσονται ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου οἱ ἰχθύες τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τὰ θηρία τοῦ πεδίου καὶ πάντα τὰ ἑρπετὰ τὰ ἕρποντα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ἐπὶ προσώπου τῆς γῆς καὶ ῥαγήσεται τὰ ὄρη καὶ πεσοῦνται αἱ φάραγγες καὶ πᾶν τεῖχος ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν πεσεῖται
et commovebuntur a facie mea pisces maris, et volucres caeli, et bestiae agri, et omne reptile quod movetur super humum, cunctique homines qui sunt super faciem terrae : et subvertentur montes, et cadent sepes, et omnis murus corruet in terram.
ወያድለቀልቁ፡ እምቅድመ፡ ገጹ፡ ዓሣተ፡ ባሕርኒ፡ ወአዕዋፈ፡ ሰማይኒ፡ ወአራዊተ፡ ገዳም፡ ወኵሉ፡ አራዊት፡ ዘይትሐወስ፡ ዲበ፡ ምድር፡ ወኵሉ፡ ሰብእ፡ ዘዲበ፡ ገጸ፡ ምድር፡ ወይነቅዕ፡ አድባር፡ ወይነቅዑ፡ አውግር፡ ወይወድቅ፡ ኵሉ፡ አረፍተ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር።
so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, all creeping things who creep on the earth, and all the men who are on the surface of the earth will shake at my presence. Then the mountains will be thrown down, the steep places will fall, and every wall will fall to the ground.
38:21
וְקָרָ֨אתִי עָלָ֤יו לְכׇל־הָרַי֙ חֶ֔רֶב נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֑ה חֶ֥רֶב אִ֖ישׁ בְּאָחִ֥יו תִּהְיֶֽה׃
καὶ καλέσω ἐπ’ αὐτὸν πᾶν φόβον λέγει κύριος μάχαιρα ἀνθρώπου ἐπὶ τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ ἔσται
Et convocabo adversus eum in cunctis montibus meis gladium, ait Dominus Deus : gladius uniuscujusque in fratrem suum dirigetur.
ወእጼውዕ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ ኵሎ፡ ፍርሃተ፡ ኲናት፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እግዚእ፡ ኲናተ፡ ብእሲ፡ ላዕለ፡ እኁሁ፡ ይከውን።
I will call for a sword against him to all my mountains,” says the Lord Yahweh. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother.
38:22
וְנִשְׁפַּטְתִּ֥י אִתּ֖וֹ בְּדֶ֣בֶר וּבְדָ֑ם וְגֶ֣שֶׁם שׁוֹטֵף֩ וְאַבְנֵ֨י אֶלְגָּבִ֜ישׁ אֵ֣שׁ וְגׇפְרִ֗ית אַמְטִ֤יר עָלָיו֙ וְעַל־אֲגַפָּ֔יו וְעַל־עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר אִתּֽוֹ׃
καὶ κρινῶ αὐτὸν θανάτῳ καὶ αἵματι καὶ ὑετῷ κατακλύζοντι καὶ λίθοις χαλάζης καὶ πῦρ καὶ θεῖον βρέξω ἐπ’ αὐτὸν καὶ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπ’ ἔθνη πολλὰ μετ’ αὐτοῦ
Et judicabo eum peste, et sanguine, et imbre vehementi, et lapidibus immensis : ignem et sulphur pluam super eum, et super exercitum ejus, et super populos multos qui sunt cum eo.
ወእኴንኖ፡ በሞተ፡ ብድብድ፡ ወበደም፡ ወእደፍኖ፡ በዝናም፡ ወበእብነ፡ በረድ፣፡ ወእሳተ፡ ወተየ፡ አዘንም፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ ወዲበ፡ ኵሉ፡ እለ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ወላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ብዙኅ፡ ዘምስሌሁ።
I will enter into judgment with him with pestilence and with blood. I will rain on him, on his hordes, and on the many peoples who are with him, torrential rains with great hailstones, fire, and sulfur.
38:23
וְהִתְגַּדִּלְתִּי֙ וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתִּ֔י וְנ֣וֹדַעְתִּ֔י לְעֵינֵ֖י גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֑ים וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהֹוָֽה׃ {ס}
καὶ μεγαλυνθήσομαι καὶ ἁγιασθήσομαι καὶ ἐνδοξασθήσομαι καὶ γνωσθήσομαι ἐναντίον ἐθνῶν πολλῶν καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος
Et magnificabor, et sanctificabor, et notus ero in oculis multarum gentium : et scient quia ego Dominus.
ወአዐቢ፡ ወእትቄደስ፡ ወእሴባሕ፡ ወአስተርኢ፡ በቅድመ፡ ብዙኃን፡ አሕዛብ፣፡ ወየአምሩ፡ ከመ፡ አነ፡ ውእቱ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
I will magnify myself and sanctify myself, and I will make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”’
