1:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἰούδας Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ δοῦλος , ἀδελφὸς δὲ Ἰακώβου , τοῖς ἐν θεῷ πατρὶ ἠγαπημένοις καὶ Ἰησοῦ Χριστῷ τετηρημένοις κλητοῖς ·
Judas Jesu Christi servus , frater autem Jacobi , his qui sunt in Deo Patre dilectis , et Christo Jesu conservatis , et vocatis .
እምይሁዳ ገብረ እግዚአብሔር ወኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ እኁሁ ለያዕቆብ ለእለ ያፈቅርዎ ለእግዚአብሔር አብ ስሙያን ወጽዉዓን በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:
1:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔλεος ὑμῖν καὶ εἰρήνη καὶ ἀγάπη πληθυνθείη .
Misericordia vobis , et pax , et caritas adimpleatur .
ሰላም ለክሙ ወተፋቅሮ ወሣህል ይብዛኅ ማእከሌክሙ ።
May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.
1:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀγαπητοί , πᾶσαν σπουδὴν ποιούμενος γράφειν ὑμῖν περὶ τῆς κοινῆς ἡμῶν σωτηρίας ἀνάγκην ἔσχον γράψαι ὑμῖν παρακαλῶν ἐπαγωνίζεσθαι τῇ ἅπαξ παραδοθείσῃ τοῖς ἁγίοις πίστει .
Carissimi , omnem sollicitudinem faciens scribendi vobis de communi vestra salute , necesse habui scribere vobis : deprecans supercertari semel traditae sanctis fidei .
አኀዊነ በኵሉ አስተፋጠንኩ ከመ እጽሐፍ ለክሙ በእንተ ሕይወተ ኵልነ እስመ ጥቀ እጽሕፍ ለክሙ ጽሑቀ ወአስተበቍዐክሙ ከመ ትትቀነይዋ ለእንተ ተውህበት ለቅዱሳን ሃይማኖት ።
Beloved, while I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I was constrained to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
1:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ παρεισέδυσαν γάρ τινες ἄνθρωποι , οἱ πάλαι προγεγραμμένοι εἰς τοῦτο τὸ κρίμα , ἀσεβεῖς , τὴν τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν χάριτα μετατιθέντες εἰς ἀσέλγειαν καὶ τὸν μόνον δεσπότην καὶ κύριον ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦν Χριστὸν ἀρνούμενοι .
Subintroierunt enim quidam homines (qui olim praescripti sunt in hoc judicium ) impii , Dei nostri gratiam transferentes in luxuriam , et solum Dominatorem , et Dominum nostrum Jesum Christum negantes .
እስመ ተደመሩ ብክሙ ሰብእ ረሲዓን እለ ጽሑፋን ቀዲሙ ለዝንቱ ደይን ወእሉ እለ ኢይፈርህዎ ለእግዚአብሔር ወእለ ያፈልስዋ ለጸጋ እግዚአብሔር ውስተ ዝሙቶሙ ወይክሕድዎ ለዘውእቱ ባሕቲቱ ንጉሥ እግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
For there are certain men who crept in secretly, even those who were long ago written about for this condemnation: ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into indecency, and denying our only Master, God, and Lord, Jesus Christ.
1:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ὑπομνῆσαι δὲ ὑμᾶς βούλομαι , εἰδότας ἅπαξ πάντα , ὅτι κύριος λαὸν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου σώσας τὸ δεύτερον τοὺς μὴ πιστεύσαντες ἀπώλεσεν ,
Commonere autem vos volo , scientes semel omnia , quoniam Jesus populum de terra Aegypti salvans , secundo eos , qui non crediderunt , perdidit :
ወፈቀድኩሰ አዘከርክሙ ኵሎ ወተአምሩ ምዕረሰ ከመ ኢየሱስ አድኀነ ሕዝቦ እምድረ ግብፅ ወበዳግምሰ ለእለ ኢአምኑ አጥፍኦሙ ።
Now I desire to remind you, though you already know this, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who didn’t believe.
1:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀγγέλους τε τοὺς μὴ τηρήσαντας τὴν ἑαυτῶν ἀρχὴν ἀλλὰ ἀπολιπόντας τὸ ἴδιον οἰκητήριον εἰς κρίσιν μεγάλης ἡμέρας δεσμοῖς ἀϊδίοις ὑπὸ ζόφον τετήρηκεν ·
angelos vero , qui non servaverunt suum principatum , sed dereliquerunt suum domicilium , in judicium magni diei , vinculis aeternis sub caligine reservavit .
ወለመላእክቲሁኒ እለ ኢዐቀቡ ፍጥረቶሙ ወኀደግዋ ለሥርዐቶሙ ውስተ ደይን አንበሮሙ ወተዐሠሩ ለዕለት ዐባይ በዘለሊሆሙ አቅነዩ ርእሶሙ ።
Angels who didn’t keep their first domain, but deserted their own dwelling place, he has kept in everlasting bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day.
1:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς Σόδομα καὶ Γόμορρα καὶ αἱ περὶ αὐτὰς πόλεις , τὸν ὅμοιον τρόπον τούτοις ἐκπορνεύσασαι καὶ ἀπελθοῦσαι ὀπίσω σαρκὸς ἑτέρας , πρόκεινται δεῖγμα πυρὸς αἰωνίου δίκην ὑπέχουσαι .
Sicut Sodoma , et Gomorrha , et finitimae civitates simili modo exfornicatae , et abeuntes post carnem alteram , factae sunt exemplum , ignis aeterni poenam sustinentes .
ወከማሁ ሰዶምኒ ወገሞራ ወአህጉርኒ እለ ምስሌሆን ወበአርኣያሆን ዘመዋ ወተለዋሆን በፍትወተ ዝሙቶን ሤሞሙ ውስተ ደይን ዘእሳት ዘለዓለም ወተመጠዋ ኵነኔሆን ።
Even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, having in the same way as these given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are shown as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.
1:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁμοίως μέντοι καὶ οὗτοι ἐνυπνιαζόμενοι σάρκα μὲν μιαίνουσιν , κυριότητα δὲ ἀθετοῦσιν , δόξας δὲ βλασφημοῦσιν .
Similiter et hi carnem quidem maculant , dominationem autem spernunt , majestatem autem blasphemant .
ወከማሁ እሉኒ እለ በሕልሞሙ ያጌምኑ ሥጋሆሙ ወይክሕድዎ ለእግዚኦሙ ወይፀርፉ ላዕለ ስብሐቲሁ ።
Yet in the same way, these also in their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and slander celestial beings.
1:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Μιχαὴλ ὁ ἀρχάγγελος , ὅτε τῷ διαβόλῳ διακρινόμενος διελέγετο περὶ τοῦ Μωϋσέως σώματος , οὐκ ἐτόλμησεν κρίσιν ἐπενεγκεῖν βλασφημίας , ἀλλὰ εἶπεν , ἐπιτιμήσαι σοι κύριος .
Cum Michaël Archangelus cum diabolo disputans altercaretur de Moysi corpore , non est ausus judicium inferre blasphemiae : sed dixit : Imperet tibi Dominus .
ወሚካኤልኒ ሊቀ መላእክት አመ ይትበሀሎ ለሰይጣን በእንተ ሥጋሁ ለሙሴ ኢተኀበለ ቃለ ፅርፈት ይንብብ አላ ይቤሎ ይሒስከ እግዚአብሔር ።
But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, “May the Lord rebuke you!”
1:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὗτοι δὲ ὅσα μὲν οὐκ οἴδασιν βλασφημοῦσιν , ὅσα δὲ φυσικῶς ὡς τὰ ἄλογα ζῷα ἐπίστανται , ἐν τούτοις φθείρονται .
Hi autem quaecumque quidem ignorant , blasphemant : quaecumque autem naturaliter , tamquam muta animalia , norunt , in his corrumpuntur .
ወእሉሰ እለ ይፀርፉ እሙንቱ ይኤብሱ በዘኢየአምሩ ወኅሊናተሰ ዘሥጋ የአምሩ ከመ እንስሳ ወባቲ ይሤረዉ ።
But these speak evil of whatever things they don’t know. They are destroyed in these things that they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason.
1:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐαὶ αὐτοῖς , ὅτι τῇ ὁδῷ τοῦ Κάϊν ἐπορεύθησαν , καὶ τῇ πλάνῃ τοῦ Βαλαὰμ μισθοῦ ἐξεχύθησαν , καὶ τῇ ἀντιλογίᾳ τοῦ Κόρε ἀπώλοντο .
Vae illis , quia in via Cain abierunt , et errore Balaam mercede effusi sunt , et in contradictione Core perierunt !
አሌ ሎሙ እስመ በፍኖተ ቃየን ሖሩ ወበዐስበ ጌጋዩ ለበለዓም ውዕዩ ወበካሕዱ ለቆሬ ወእለ ምስሌሁ ተኀጕሉ ።
Woe to them! For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in Korah’s rebellion.
1:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ ἐν ταῖς ἀγάπαις ὑμῶν σπιλάδες συνευωχούμενοι ἀφόβως , ἑαυτοὺς ποιμαίνοντες , νεφέλαι ἄνυδροι ὑπὸ ἀνέμων παραφερόμεναι , δένδρα φθινοπωρινὰ ἄκαρπα δὶς ἀποθανόντα ἐκριζωθέντα ,
Hi sunt in epulis suis maculae , convivantes sine timore , semetipsos pascentes , nubes sine aqua , quae a ventis circumferentur , arbores autumnales , infructuosae , bis mortuae , eradicatae ,
እሉ እሙንቱ እለ በፍቅር አፍቀሩክሙ ከመ ያስሕቱክሙ ተባዕያን ለኀጢአቶሙ ወየሐውሩ በፍትወተ ልቦሙ ወዘእንበለ ፍርሀት ይሬእዩ ርእሶሙ ወከመ ደመና እሙንቱ እንተ አልባቲ ዝናም እንተ ትትሀወክ እምነፋስ ወከመ ዕፀዋትኒ ይቡሳት እለ አልቦን ፍሬ እለ ካዕበ ሞታ ወተሠረዋ ።
These are hidden rocky reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you, shepherds who without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
1:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ κύματα ἄγρια θαλάσσης ἐπαφρίζοντα τὰς ἑαυτῶν αἰσχύνας , ἀστέρες πλανῆται οἷς ὁ ζόφος τοῦ σκότους εἰς αἰῶνα τετήρηται .
fluctus feri maris , despumantes suas confusiones , sidera errantia : quibus procella tenebrarum servata est in aeternum .
ወከመ ሞገዳተ ባሕር እሙንቱ እቡዳት እለ ያፈልሕዋ ለኀሣሮሙ ወከመ ከዋክብት ጽልሙታን እለ ለፍጻሜ ጽልመቶሙ ደይን ይጸንሖሙ ለዓለመ ዓለም ።
wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever.
1:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπροφήτευσεν δὲ καὶ τούτοις ἕβδομος ἀπὸ Ἀδὰμ Ἑνὼχ λέγων , ἰδοὺ ἦλθεν κύριος ἐν ἁγίαις μυριάσιν αὐτοῦ ,
Prophetavit autem et de his septimus ab Adam Enoch , dicens : Ecce venit Dominus in sanctis millibus suis
በከመ ተነበየ ሄኖክ በእንቲኣሆሙ ዘውእቱ ሳብዕ እምአዳም ወይቤ «ናሁ ይመጽእ እግዚአብሔር በአእላፊሁ ቅዱሳን መላእክት ከመ ይግበር ኵነኔ ።»
About these also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with ten thousands of his holy ones,
1:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ποιῆσαι κρίσιν κατὰ πάντων καὶ ἐλέγξαι πάντας τοὺς ἀσεβεῖς αὐτῶν περὶ πάντων τῶν ἔργων ἀσεβείας αὐτῶν ὧν ἠσέβησαν καὶ περὶ πάντων τῶν σκληρῶν λόγων ὧν ἐλάλησαν κατ’ αὐτοῦ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἀσεβεῖς .
facere judicium contra omnes , et arguere omnes impios de omnibus operibus impietatis eorum , quibus impie egerunt , et de omnibus duris , quae locuti sunt contra Deum peccatores impii .
ወይፈድዮ ለኵሉ በከመ ምግባሩ ወይዛለፎሙ ለኵሎሙ ኃጥኣን በእንተ ኵሉ ግብረ ኀጣውኢሆሙ ዘአበሱ ወበእንተ ኵሉ ዘነበቡ ላዕሌሁ ዘኢይከውን ቃለ ኃጥኣን ወጽልሕዋን ።
to execute judgment on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their works of ungodliness which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”
1:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὗτοί εἰσιν γογγυσταί , μεμψίμοιροι , κατὰ τὰς ἐπιθυμίας αὐτῶν πορευόμενοι , καὶ τὸ στόμα αὐτῶν λαλεῖ ὑπέρογκα , θαυμάζοντες πρόσωπα ὠφελείας χάριν .
Hi sunt murmuratores querulosi , secundum desideria sua ambulantes , et os eorum loquitur superba , mirantes personas quaestus causa .
እሉ እሙንቱ እለ ያንጐረጕሩ እስመ ቅቡጻን ተስፋሆሙ እለ የሐውሩ በፍትወተ ልቦሙ ወአፉሆሙኒ ይነብብ ትዕቢተ ወያስተብዕሉ ወያደልዉ ለገጽ ወዝ ኵሉ ዘይገብሩ ከመ ይርብሖሙ ።
These are murmurers and complainers, walking after their lusts—and their mouth speaks proud things—showing respect of persons to gain advantage.
1:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ὑμεῖς δέ , ἀγαπητοί , μνήσθητε τῶν ῥημάτων τῶν προειρημένων ὑπὸ τῶν ἀποστόλων τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ,
Vos autem carissimi , memores estote verborum , quae praedicta sunt ab apostolis Domini nostri Jesu Christi ,
ወአንትሙሰ አኀዊነ ተዘከሩ ቃለ ዘነገሩክሙ ቀዲሙ ሐዋርያቲሁ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
But you, beloved, remember the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι ἔλεγον ὑμῖν · ἐπ’ ἐσχάτου τοῦ χρόνου ἔσονται ἐμπαῖκται κατὰ τὰς ἑαυτῶν ἐπιθυμίας πορευόμενοι τῶν ἀσεβειῶν .
qui dicebant vobis , quoniam in novissimo tempore venient illusores , secundum desideria sua ambulantes in impietatibus .
ወዘይቤሉክሙ ከመ በደኃሪ መዋዕል ይመጽኡ መስሕታን እለ ይሜህሩ በፍትወተ ልቦሙ ወያስሕቱ በኀጣውኢሆሙ ።
They said to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts.”
1:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ ἀποδιορίζοντες , ψυχικοί , πνεῦμα μὴ ἔχοντες .
Hi sunt , qui segregant semetipsos , animales , Spiritum non habentes .
እሉ እሙንቱ እለ ይስሕቡ በጌጋዮሙ ወያስሕቱ በፍትወተ ነፍሶሙ ወመንፈስ ቅዱስ አልቦሙ ።
These are those who cause divisions and are sensual, not having the Spirit.
1:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὑμεῖς δέ , ἀγαπητοί , ἐποικοδομοῦντες ἑαυτοὺς τῇ ἁγιωτάτῃ ὑμῶν πίστει , ἐν πνεύματι ἁγίῳ προσευχόμενοι ,
Vos autem carissimi superaedificantes vosmetipsos sanctissimae vestrae fidei , in Spiritu Sancto orantes ,
ወአንትሙሰ አኀዊነ ሕንጹ ርእሰክሙ በሃይማኖት ቅድስት ወበመንፈስ ቅዱስ ጸልዩ ።
But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.
1:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἑαυτοὺς ἐν ἀγάπῃ θεοῦ τηρήσατε , προσδεχόμενοι τὸ ἔλεος τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ εἰς ζωὴν αἰώνιον .
vosmetipsos in dilectione Dei servate , exspectantes misericordiam Domini nostri Jesu Christi in vitam aeternam .
ወበፍቅሩ ለእግዚአብሔር ተዐቀቡ ወተሰፈውዋ ለምሕረቱ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ እንተ ሕይወት ዘለዓለመ ዓለም ።
Keep yourselves in God’s love, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
1:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὓς μὲν ἐλέγχετε διακρινομένους ,
Et hos quidem arguite judicatos :
እስመ ቦ ለዘትዘልፍዎ በእንተ ኀጢአቱ ወቦ ለዘትምሕርዎ ።
On some have compassion, making a distinction,
1:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὓς δὲ σῴζετε ἐκ πυρὸς ἁρπάζοντες , οὓς δὲ ἐλεᾶτε ἐν φόβῳ , μισοῦντες καὶ τὸν ἀπὸ τῆς σαρκὸς ἐσπιλωμένον χιτῶνα .
illos vero salvate , de igne rapientes . Aliis autem miseremini in timore : odientes et eam , quae carnalis est , maculatam tunicam .
ወቦ ለዘታድኅንዎ እምውስተ እሳት ወትባልሕዎ ወቦ ዘይድኅን ፈሪሆ ወነሲሖ ወቦ እለ ጸሊኦሙ ዘቀዲሙ ጌጋዮሙ ኀደጉ ዐራዘ ጥልቀተ ዝሙቶሙ ።
and some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.
1:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τῷ δὲ δυναμένῳ φυλάξαι ὑμᾶς ἀπταίστους καὶ στῆσαι κατενώπιον τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ ἀμώμους ἐν ἀγαλλιάσει ,
Ei autem qui potens est vos conservare sine peccato et constituere ante conspectum gloriae suae immaculatos in exsultatione in adventu Domini nostri Jesu Christi ,
ወይክል እግዚአብሔር መድኀኒነ ዐቂቦተክሙ ዘእንበለ ጌጋይ ወአቅሞተክሙ ቅድመ ስብሐቲሁ ንጹሓኒክሙ በትፍሥሕት ።
Now to him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy,
1:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ μόνῳ θεῷ σωτῆρι ἡμῶν διὰ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν δόξα μεγαλωσύνη κράτος καὶ ἐξουσία πρὸ παντὸς τοῦ αἰῶνος καὶ νῦν καὶ εἰς πάντας τοὺς αἰῶνας · ἀμήν .
soli Deo Salvatori nostro , per Jesum Christum Dominum nostrum , gloria et magnificentia , imperium et potestas ante omne saeculum , et nunc , et in omnia saecula saeculorum . Amen .
በእደዊሁ ለእግዚእነ ወመድኀኒነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ዘሎቱ ስብሐት ወዕበይ ወኀይል ወሥልጣን እምቅድመ ኵሉ ፍጥረተ ዓለም ይእዜኒ ወዘልፈኒ ወለኵሉ ዓለማት ዘይመጽእ አሜን ። መልአት መልእክተ ይሁዳ ሐዋርያ እኁሁ ለያዕቆብ ። ወስብሐት ለእግዚአብሔር ለዓለመ ዓለም አሜን ።
to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
