10:1
Μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα ἀνέδειξεν ὁ κύριος καὶ ἑτέρους ἑβδομήκοντα, καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς ἀνὰ δύο πρὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ εἰς πᾶσαν πόλιν καὶ τόπον οὗ ἤμελλεν αὐτὸς ἔρχεσθαι.
Post haec autem designavit Dominus et alios septuaginta duos : et misit illos binos ante faciem suam in omnem civitatem et locum, quo erat ipse venturus.
ወእምዝ ኀረየ እግዚእነ ካልአነ ሰብዓ ወፈነዎሙ በበክልኤቱ ቅድመ ገጹ ውስተ ኵሉ አህጉር ወበሓውርት ኀበ ሀለዎ ይባእ።
Now after these things, the Lord also appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of him into every city and place where he was about to come.
10:2
ἔλεγεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτούς· ὁ μὲν θερισμὸς πολύς, οἱ δὲ ἐργάται ὀλίγοι· δεήθητε οὖν τοῦ κυρίου τοῦ θερισμοῦ ὅπως ἐργάτας ἐκβάλῃ εἰς τὸν θερισμὸν αὐτοῦ.
Et dicebat illis : Messis quidem multa, operarii autem pauci. Rogate ergo dominum messis ut mittat operarios in messem suam.
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ማእረሩሰ ብዙኅ ወገባሩ ኅዳጥ ሰአልዎ እንከ ለበዓለ ማእረር ከመ ይወስክ ወይፈኑ ገባረ ለማእረሩ።
Then he said to them, “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.
10:3
ὑπάγετε· ἰδοὺ ἀποστέλλω ὑμᾶς ὡς ἄρνας ἐν μέσῳ λύκων.
Ite : ecce ego mitto vos sicut agnos inter lupos.
ሑሩ ናሁ አነ እፌንወክሙ ከመ አባግዕ ማእከለ ተኳሉት።
Go your ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.
10:4
μὴ βαστάζετε βαλλάντιον, μὴ πήραν, μὴ ὑποδήματα· μηδένα κατὰ τὴν ὁδὸν ἀσπάσησθε.
Nolite portare sacculum, neque peram, neque calceamenta, et neminem per viam salutaveritis.
ወኢትጹሩ ቍናማተ ወኢጽፍነተ ወኢአሣእነ ወኢምንተኒ ወኢተአምኁ ወኢመነሂ በፍኖት።
Carry no purse, nor wallet, nor sandals. Greet no one on the way.
10:5
εἰς ἣν δ’ ἂν εἰσέλθητε οἰκίαν, πρῶτον λέγετε· εἰρήνη τῷ οἴκῳ τούτῳ.
In quamcumque domum intraveritis, primum dicite : Pax huic domui :
ወኀበ ቦእክሙ ቤት ቅድመ በሉ ሰላም ለሰብአ ዝንቱ ቤት።
Into whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’
10:6
καὶ ἐὰν ᾖ ἐκεῖ υἱὸς εἰρήνης, ἐπαναπαήσεται ἐπ’ αὐτὸν ἡ εἰρήνη ὑμῶν· εἰ δὲ μήγε, ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἀνακάμψει.
et si ibi fuerit filius pacis, requiescet super illum pax vestra : sin autem, ad vos revertetur.
ወእመሂ ቦ ህየ ወልደ ሰላም ያዕርፍ ሰላምክሙ ላዕሌሁ ወእመአኮሰ ይግባእ ሰላምክሙ ላዕሌክሙ።
If a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.
10:7
ἐν αὐτῇ δὲ τῇ οἰκίᾳ μένετε, ἔσθοντες καὶ πίνοντες τὰ παρ’ αὐτῶν· ἄξιος γὰρ ὁ ἐργάτης τοῦ μισθοῦ αὐτοῦ. μὴ μεταβαίνετε ἐξ οἰκίας εἰς οἰκίαν.
In eadem autem domo manete, edentes et bibentes quae apud illos sunt : dignus est enim operarius mercede sua. Nolite transire de domo in domum.
ወውእተ ቤተ ንበሩ ወብልዑ ወስትዩ ዘእምኀቤሆሙ እስመ ይደልዎ ዐስቡ ለዘይትቀነይ ወኢትትፋለሱ እምቤት ውስተ ቤት።
Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don’t go from house to house.
10:8
καὶ εἰς ἣν ἂν πόλιν εἰσέρχησθε καὶ δέχωνται ὑμᾶς, ἐσθίετε τὰ παρατιθέμενα ὑμῖν,
Et in quamcumque civitatem intraveritis, et susceperint vos, manducate quae apponuntur vobis :
ወሀገረኒ ኀበ ቦእክሙ ወተወክፉክሙ ሰብአ ይእቲ ሀገር ብልዑ ዘአቅረቡ ለክሙ።
Into whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat the things that are set before you.
10:9
καὶ θεραπεύετε τοὺς ἐν αὐτῇ ἀσθενεῖς, καὶ λέγετε αὐτοῖς· ἤγγικεν ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ.
et curate infirmos, qui in illa sunt, et dicite illis : Appropinquavit in vos regnum Dei.
ወፈውሱ ድዉያነ እለ ውስቴታ ወበልዎሙ ቀርበት መንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር ኀቤክሙ።
Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
10:10
εἰς ἣν δ’ ἂν πόλιν εἰσέλθητε καὶ μὴ δέχωνται ὑμᾶς, ἐξελθόντες εἰς τὰς πλατείας αὐτῆς εἴπατε·
In quamcumque autem civitatem intraveritis, et non susceperint vos, exeuntes in plateas ejus, dicite :
ወሀገረሰ ኀበ ቦእክሙ ወኢተወክፉክሙ ሰብአ ይእቲ ሀገር ወፂአክሙ ውስተ መርሕባ ንግፉ ጸበለ እገሪክሙ እንዘ ትብሉ።
But into whatever city you enter and they don’t receive you, go out into its streets and say,
10:11
καὶ τὸν κονιορτὸν τον κολληθέντα ἡμῖν ἐκ τῆς πόλεως ὑμῶν εἰς τοὺς πόδας ἀπομασσόμεθα ὑμῖν· πλὴν τοῦτο γινώσκετε ὅτι ἤγγικεν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ.
Etiam pulverem, qui adhaesit nobis de civitate vestra, extergimus in vos : tamen hoc scitote, quia appropinquavit regnum Dei.
ጸበለክሙኒ ዘተለወነ እምሀገርክሙ ንነግፍ ለክሙ ወባሕቱ ዘንተ አእምሩ ከመ ቀርበት መንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር ኀቤክሙ።
‘Even the dust from your city that clings to us, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that God’s Kingdom has come near to you.’
10:12
λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι Σοδόμοις ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται ἢ τῇ πόλει ἐκείνῃ.
Dico vobis, quia Sodomis in die illa remissius erit, quam illi civitati.
እብለክሙ ከመ ሰዶም ትኄይስ ወትረክብ ሣህለ ፈድፋደ እምይእቲ ሀገር በዕለተ ደይን።
I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.
10:13
Οὐαί σοι, Χοραζείν, οὐαί σοι Βηθσαϊδά· ὅτι εἰ ἐν Τύρῳ καὶ Σιδῶνι ἐγενήθησαν αἱ δυνάμεις αἱ γενόμεναι ἐν ὑμῖν, πάλαι ἂν ἐν σάκκῳ καὶ σποδῷ καθήμενοι μετενόησαν.
Vae tibi Corozain ! vae tibi Bethsaida ! quia si in Tyro et Sidone factae fuissent virtutes quae factae sunt in vobis, olim in cilicio et cinere sedentes poeniterent.
አሌ ለኪ ኰራዚ አሌ ለኪ ቤተ ሳይዳ ሶበሰ በጢሮስ ወበሲዶና ተገብረ ኀይል ዘተገብረ በውስቴትክን ሠቀ እምለብሱ ወውስተ ሐመድ እምነበሩ ወእምነስሑ።
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
10:14
πλὴν Τύρῳ καὶ Σιδῶνι ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται ἐν τῇ κρίσει ἢ ὑμῖν.
Verumtamen Tyro et Sidoni remissius erit in judicio, quam vobis.
ወባሕቱ ጢሮስ ወሲዶና ይኄይሳ እምኔክን በዕለተ ደይን።
But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.
10:15
καὶ σύ, Καφαρναούμ, μὴ ἕως οὐρανοῦ ὑψωθήσῃ; ἕως ᾅδου καταβιβασθήσῃ.
Et tu Capharnaum, usque ad caelum exaltata, usque ad infernum demergeris.
ወአንቲኒ ቅፍርናሆም እመ እስከ ሰማይ ትትሌዓሊ ሀለወኪ ትረዲ እስከ ሲኦል።
You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades.
10:16
Ὁ ἀκούων ὑμῶν ἐμοῦ ἀκούει, καὶ ὁ ἀθετῶν ὑμᾶς ἐμὲ ἀθετεῖ· ὁ δὲ ἐμὲ ἀθετῶν ἀθετεῖ τὸν ἀποστείλαντά με.
Qui vos audit, me audit : et qui vos spernit, me spernit. Qui autem me spernit, spernit eum qui misit me.
ዘኪያክሙ ሰምዐ ኪያየ ሰምዐ ወዘለክሙ አበየ ሊተ አበየ ወዘሊተ አበየ አበዮ ለዘፈነወኒ ወዘኪያየ ሰምዐ ሰምዖ ለዘፈነወኒ።
Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me. Whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
10:17
Ὑπέστρεψαν δὲ οἱ ἑβδομήκοντα μετὰ χαρᾶς λέγοντες· κύριε, καὶ τὰ δαιμόνια ὑποτάσσεται ἡμῖν ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί σου.
Reversi sunt autem septuaginta duo cum gaudio, dicentes : Domine, etiam daemonia subjiciuntur nobis in nomine tuo.
ወተመይጡ እልክቱ ሰብዓ እለ ተፈነዉ እንዘ ይትፌሥሑ ወይቤልዎ እግዚኦ አጋንንትሂ ገረሩ ለነ በስምከ።
The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
10:18
εἶπεν δὲ αὐτοῖς· ἐθεώρουν τὸν σατανᾶν ὡς ἀστραπὴν ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ πεσόντα.
Et ait illis : Videbam Satanam sicut fulgor de caelo cadentem.
ወይቤሎሙ ርኢክዎ ለሰይጣን ከመ መብረቅ ወድቀ እምሰማይ።
He said to them, “I saw Satan having fallen like lightning from heaven.
10:19
ἰδοὺ δέδωκα ὑμῖν τὴν ἐξουσίαν τοῦ πατεῖν ἐπάνω ὄφεων καὶ σκορπίων, καὶ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν δύναμιν τοῦ ἐχθροῦ, καὶ οὐδὲν ἡμᾶς οὐ μὴ ἀδικήσει.
Ecce dedi vobis potestatem calcandi supra serpentes, et scorpiones, et super omnem virtutem inimici : et nihil vobis nocebit.
ወናሁ ወሀብኩክሙ ሥልጣነ ትኪዱ ዲበ አቃርብት ወዲበ አራዊተ ምድር ወዲበ ኵሉ ኀይለ ጸላኢ ወአልቦ ዘይነክየክሙ።
Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you.
10:20
πλὴν ἐν τούτῳ μὴ χαίρετε ὅτι τὰ πνεύματα ὑμῖν ὑποτάσσεται, χαίρετε δὲ ὅτι τὰ ὀνόματα ὑμῶν ἐνγέγραπται ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.
Verumtamen in hoc nolite gaudere quia spiritus vobis subjiciuntur : gaudete autem, quod nomina vestra scripta sunt in caelis.
ወባሕቱ በዝሰ ኢትትፈሥሑ እስመ አጋንንት ይገንዩ ለክሙ ተፈሥሑሰ ባሕቱ እስመ ተጽሕፈ አስማቲክሙ በሰማያት።
Nevertheless, don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
10:21
Ἐν αὐτῇ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἠγαλλιάσατο ἐν τῷ πνεύματι τῷ ἁγίῳ καὶ εἶπεν· ἐξομολογοῦμαί σοι πάτερ, κύριε τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τῆς γῆς, ὅτι ἀπέκρυψας ταῦτα ἀπὸ σοφῶν καὶ συνετῶν, καὶ ἀπεκάλυψας αὐτὰ νηπίοις· ναί ὁ πατήρ, ὅτι οὕτως ἐγένετο εὐδοκία ἔμπροσθέν σου.
In ipsa hora exsultavit Spiritu Sancto, et dixit : Confiteor tibi Pater, Domine caeli et terrae, quod abscondisti haec a sapientibus et prudentibus, et revelasti ea parvulis. Etiam Pater : quoniam sic placuit ante te.
ወበይእቲ ሰዓት ተፈሥሐ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ በመንፈሱ ቅዱስ ወይቤ አአምነከ አባ እግዚአ ሰማይ ወምድር ዘኀባእኮ ለዝንቱ እምጠቢባን ወእምለባውያን ወከሠትኮ ለሕፃናት እወ አባ እስመ ከማሁ ኮነ ሥምረትከ በቅድሜከ።
In that same hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.”
10:22
καὶ στραφεὶς πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς εἶπεν· πάντα μοι παρεδόθη ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου, καὶ οὐδεὶς γινώσκει τίς ἐστιν ὁ υἱὸς εἰ μὴ ὁ πατήρ, καὶ τίς ἐστιν ὁ πατὴρ εἰ μὴ ὁ υἱὸς καὶ ᾧ ἐὰν βούληται ὁ υἱὸς ἀποκαλύψαι.
Omnia mihi tradita sunt a Patre meo. Et nemo scit quis sit Filius, nisi Pater : et quis sit Pater, nisi Filius, et cui voluerit Filius revelare.
ኵሉ ተውህበ ሊተ እምኀበ አቡየ ወአልቦ ዘየአምሮ ለወልድ ከመ መኑ ውእቱ ዘእንበለ አብ ወአልቦ ዘየአምሮ ለአብ ከመ መኑ ውእቱ ዘእንበለ ወልድ ወለዘፈቀደ ወልድ ይከሥት ሎቱ።
Turning to the disciples, he said, “All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son desires to reveal him.”
10:23
Καὶ στραφεὶς πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς κατ’ ἰδίαν εἶπεν· μακάριοι οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ οἱ βλέποντες ἃ βλέπετε.
Et conversus ad discipulos suos, dixit : Beati oculi qui vident quae vos videtis.
ወተመይጠ ወይቤሎሙ ለአርዳኢሁ እንተ ባሕቲቶሙ ብፁዓት አዕይንት እለ ርእያ ዘትሬእዩ አንትሙ።
Turning to the disciples, he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see,
10:24
λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι πολλοὶ προφῆται καὶ βασιλεῖς ἠθέλησαν ἰδεῖν ἃ ὑμεῖς βλέπετε, καὶ οὐκ ἴδαν, καὶ ἀκοῦσαι ἃ ἀκούετε καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν.
Dico enim vobis quod multi prophetae et reges voluerunt videre quae vos videtis, et non viderunt : et audire quae auditis, et non audierunt.
እብለክሙ ከመ ብዙኃን ነቢያት ወነገሥት ፈተዉ ይርአዩ ዘትሬእዩ አንትሙ ወኢርእዩ ወይስምዑ ዘትሰምዑ አንትሙ ወኢሰምዑ።
for I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.”
10:25
Καὶ ἰδοὺ νομικός τις ἀνέστη ἐκπειράζων αὐτόν, λέγων· διδάσκαλε, τί ποιήσας ζωὴν αἰώνιον κληρονομήσω;
Et ecce quidam legisperitus surrexit tentans illum, et dicens : Magister, quid faciendo vitam aeternam possidebo ?
ወእምዝ ተንሥአ አሐዱ ጸሓፌ ሀገር ያመክሮ ወይቤሎ ኦ ሊቅ ምንተ ገቢርየ እወርስ ሕይወተ ዘለዓለም።
Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
10:26
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν· ἐν τῷ νόμῳ τί γέγραπται; πῶς ἀναγινώσκεις;
At ille dixit ad eum : In lege quid scriptum est ? quomodo legis ?
ወይቤሎ ውስተ ኦሪት ምንት ጽሑፍ ወእፎ ታነብብ።
He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
10:27
ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· ἀγαπήσεις κύριον τὸν θεόν σου ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας σου καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ ψυχῇ σου καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ ἰσχύϊ σου καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ διανοίᾳ σου, καὶ τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν.
Ille respondens dixit : Diliges Dominum Deum tuum ex toto corde tuo, et ex tota anima tua, et ex omnibus virtutibus tuis, et ex omni mente tua : et proximum tuum sicut teipsum.
ወአውሥአ ወይቤሎ «አፍቅሮ ለእግዚአብሔር አምላክከ በኵሉ ልብከ ወበኵሉ ነፍስከ ወበኵሉ ኀይልከ ወበኵሉ ኅሊናከ ወአፍቅር ቢጸከ ከመ ነፍስከ።»
He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
10:28
εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ· ὀρθῶς ἀπεκρίθης· τοῦτο ποίει, καὶ ζήσῃ.
Dixitque illi : Recte respondisti : hoc fac, et vives.
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ሠናየ ተሠጠውከ ከማሁኬ ግበር ወተሐዩ።
He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
10:29
ὁ δὲ θέλων δικαιῶσαι ἑαυτὸν εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν· καὶ τίς ἐστίν μου πλησίον;
Ille autem volens justificare seipsum, dixit ad Jesum : Et quis est meus proximus ?
ወፈቀደ ያጽድቅ ርእሶ ወይመንን ቢጾ ወይቤሎ መኑ ውእቱ ቢጽየ።
But he, desiring to justify himself, asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?”
10:30
ὑπολαβὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· ἄνθρωπός τις κατέβαινεν ἀπὸ Ἱερουσαλὴμ εἰς Ἱερειχώ, καὶ λῃσταῖς περιέπεσεν, οἳ καὶ ἐκδύσαντες αὐτὸν καὶ πληγὰς ἐπιθέντες ἀπῆλθον, ἀφέντες ἡμιθανῆ.
Suscipiens autem Jesus, dixit : Homo quidam descendebat ab Jerusalem in Jericho, et incidit in latrones, qui etiam despoliaverunt eum : et plagis impositis abierunt semivivo relicto.
ወተሰጥዎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎ አሐዱ ብእሲ እንዘ ይወርድ እምኢየሩሳሌም ለኢያሪሆ ረከብዎ ፈያት ወዘበጥዎ ወፈቅዕዎ ወሰለብዎ ወገደፍዎ ወኀለፉ ወአልጸቀ ይሙት።
Jesus answered, “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
10:31
κατὰ συγκυρίαν δὲ ἱερεύς τις κατέβαινεν ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ ἐκείνῃ, καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὸν ἀντιπαρῆλθεν.
Accidit autem ut sacerdos quidam descenderet eadem via : et viso illo praeterivit.
ወተዳደቆ አሐዱ ካህን እንዘ ይወርድ ይእተ ፍኖተ ወርእዮ ተዐደዎ ወኀለፈ።
By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
10:32
ὁμοίως δὲ καὶ Λευείτης γενόμενος κατὰ τὸν τόπον. ἐλθὼν καὶ ἰδὼν ἀντιπαρῆλθεν.
Similiter et Levita, cum esset secus locum, et videret eum, pertransiit.
ወከማሁ ሌዋዊሂ ረከቦ ክመ በውእቱ መካን ወርእዮ ተዐደዎ ወኀለፈ ከመ ቀዳሚ።
In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
10:33
Σαμαρίτης δέ τις ὁδεύων ἦλθεν κατ’ αὐτὸν καὶ ἰδὼν ἐσπλαγχνίσθη,
Samaritanus autem quidam iter faciens, venit secus eum : et videns eum, misericordia motus est.
ወረከቦ አሐዱ ሳምራዊ እንዘ የሐውር ይእተ ፍኖተ ወርእዮ ወምሕሮ።
But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion,
10:34
καὶ προσελθὼν κατέδησεν τὰ τραύματα αὐτοῦ ἐπιχέων ἔλαιον καὶ οἶνον, ἐπιβιβάσας δὲ αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ ἴδιον κτῆνος ἤγαγεν αὐτὸν εἰς πανδοκίον καὶ ἐπεμελήθη αὐτοῦ.
Et appropians alligavit vulnera ejus, infundens oleum et vinum : et imponens illum in jumentum suum, duxit in stabulum, et curam ejus egit.
ወቀርበ ኀቤሁ ወሶጠ ወይነ ወቅብዐ ውስተ ቍሰሊሁ ወአጽዐኖ ዲበ አድጉ ወወሰዶ ኀበ ዐቃቤ ቤተ ነገድ ከመ ይፈውሶ ወአስተሐመመ በግብሩ።
came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
10:35
καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν αὔριον ἐκβαλὼν δύο δηνάρια ἔδωκεν τῷ πανδοχεῖ καὶ εἶπεν· ἐπιμελήθητι αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὅ τι ἂν προσδαπανήσῃς ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ ἐπανέρχεσθαί με ἀποδώσω σοι.
Et altera die protulit duos denarios, et dedit stabulario, et ait : Curam illius habe : et quodcumque supererogaveris, ego cum rediero reddam tibi.
ወበሳኒታ አውፅአ ክልኤተ ዲናረ ወወሀቦ ለዐቃቤ ቤተ ነግድ ወይቤሎ ፈውሶ ሊተ በዝንቱ ወእመቦ ዘአስተዋፃእከ ሎቱ ዘይበዝኅ እምዝ እፈድየከ አነ አመ ግብአትየ።
On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the host, and said to him, ‘Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.’
10:36
τίς τούτων τῶν τριῶν πλησίον δοκεῖ σοι γεγονέναι τοῦ ἐμπεσόντος εἰς τοὺς λῃστάς;
Quis horum trium videtur tibi proximus fuisse illi, qui incidit in latrones ?
መኑ እንከ እምእሉ ሠለስቱ ዘይከውኖ ቢጾ ለዘዘበጥዎ ፈያት።
Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?”
10:37
ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· ὁ ποιήσας τὸ ἔλεος μετ’ αὐτοῦ. εἶπεν δὲ αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· πορεύου καὶ σὺ ποίει ὁμοίως.
At ille dixit : Qui fecit misericordiam in illum. Et ait illi Jesus : Vade, et tu fac similiter.
ወይቤሎ ዘገብረ ምሕረተ ላዕሌሁ ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ሑርኬ አንተኒ ግበር ከማሁ ወተሐዩ።
He said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
10:38
Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ πορεύεσθαι αὐτοὺς καὶ αὐτὸς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς κώμην τινά· γυνὴ δέ τις ὀνόματι Μάρθα ὑπεδέξατο αὐτόν εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν.
Factum est autem, dum irent, et ipse intravit in quoddam castellum : et mulier quaedam, Martha nomine, excepit illum in domum suam,
ወእምዝ ሐዊሮሙ ቦኡ አሐተ ሀገረ ወተቀበለቶ በቤታ አሐቲ ብእሲት እንተ ስማ ማርታ።
As they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
10:39
καὶ τῇδε ἦν ἀδελφὴ καλουμένη Μαριάμ, ἣ καὶ παρακαθεσθεῖσα πρὸς τοὺς πόδας τοῦ κυρίου ἤκουεν τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ·
et huic erat soror nomine Maria, quae etiam sedens secus pedes Domini, audiebat verbum illius.
ወስመ እኅታ ማርያ እንተ ነበረት ኀበ እገሪሁ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወሰምዐት ነገሮ።
She had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard his word.
10:40
ἡ δὲ Μάρθα περιεσπᾶτο περὶ πολλὴν διακονίαν· ἐπιστᾶσα δὲ εἶπεν· κύριε, οὐ μέλει σοι ὅτι ἡ ἀδελφή μου μόνην με κατέλιπεν διακονεῖν; εἰπὸν οὖν αὐτῇ ἵνα μοι συναντιλάβηται.
Martha autem satagebat circa frequens ministerium : quae stetit, et ait : Domine, non est tibi curae quod soror mea reliquit me solam ministrare ? dic ergo illi ut me adjuvet.
ወማርታሰ ትሰርሕ በአስተዳለዎ ብዙኀ ወቆመት ወትቤሎ እግዚእየ ኢያጽሕቀከኑ ዘተኀድገኒ እኅትየ ባሕቲትየ እንዘ አስተዳሉ በላኬ ትርድአኒ።
But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she came up to him, and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister left me to serve alone? Ask her therefore to help me.”
10:41
ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῇ ὁ κύριος· Μάρθα Μάρθα, μεριμνᾷς καὶ θορυβάζῃ περὶ πολλά,
Et respondens dixit illi Dominus : Martha, Martha, sollicita es, et turbaris erga plurima,
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤላ ማርታ ማርታ ለምንት ትሰርሒ ብዙኀ ወታስተዳልዊ።
Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,

ἑνὸς δέ ἐστιν χρεία· Μαρία γὰρ τὴν ἀγαθὴν μερίδα ἐξελέξατο, ἥτις οὐκ ἀφαιρεθήσεται αὐτῆς.
porro unum est necessarium. Maria optimam partem elegit, quae non auferetur ab ea.
ወኅዳጥ የአክል ወእመ አኮ አሐቲ መክፈልት ወማርያሰ ኀርየት መክፈልተ ሠናየ ዘኢየሀይድዋ።
but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
