3:1
וָאֹמַ֗ר שִׁמְעוּ־נָא֙ רָאשֵׁ֣י יַעֲקֹ֔ב וּקְצִינֵ֖י בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל הֲל֣וֹא לָכֶ֔ם לָדַ֖עַת אֶת־הַמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃
καὶ ἐρεῖ ἀκούσατε δὴ ταῦτα αἱ ἀρχαὶ οἴκου Ιακωβ καὶ οἱ κατάλοιποι οἴκου Ισραηλ οὐχ ὑμῖν ἐστιν τοῦ γνῶναι τὸ κρίμα
Et dixi : Audite, princeps Jacob, et duces domus Israël : numquid non vestrum est scire judicium,
ወይብል፡ ስምዑ፡ ዘንተ፡ መኳንንት፡ ቤተ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ወተረፈ፡ ቤተ፡ እስራኤል፡ አኮኑ፡ ለክሙ፡ አእምሮ፡ ፍትሕ።
I said, “Please listen, you heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: Isn’t it for you to know justice?
3:2
שֹׂ֥נְאֵי ט֖וֹב וְאֹ֣הֲבֵי (רעה) [רָ֑ע] גֹּזְלֵ֤י עוֹרָם֙ מֵֽעֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וּשְׁאֵרָ֖ם מֵעַ֥ל עַצְמוֹתָֽם׃
οἱ μισοῦντες τὰ καλὰ καὶ ζητοῦντες τὰ πονηρά ἁρπάζοντες τὰ δέρματα αὐτῶν ἀπ’ αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς σάρκας αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῶν ὀστέων αὐτῶν
qui odio habetis bonum, et diligitis malum ; qui violenter tollitis pelles eorum desuper eis, et carnem eorum desuper ossibus eorum ;
እለ፡ ትጸልኡ፡ ሠናይ፡ ወተኀሥሱ፡ እኩየ፡ ወትመሥጥዎሙ፡ አምእስቲሆሙ፡ እምላዕሌሆሙ። ወስጋሆሙኒ፡ እምውስተ፡ አዕጽምቲሆሙ።
You who hate the good, and love the evil; who tear off their skin, and their flesh from off their bones;
3:3
וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר אָכְלוּ֮ שְׁאֵ֣ר עַמִּי֒ וְעוֹרָם֙ מֵעֲלֵיהֶ֣ם הִפְשִׁ֔יטוּ וְאֶת־עַצְמֹֽתֵיהֶ֖ם פִּצֵּ֑חוּ וּפָֽרְשׂוּ֙ כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּסִּ֔יר וּכְבָשָׂ֖ר בְּת֥וֹךְ קַלָּֽחַת׃
ὃν τρόπον κατέφαγον τὰς σάρκας τοῦ λαοῦ μου καὶ τὰ δέρματα αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῶν ὀστέων αὐτῶν ἐξέδειραν καὶ τὰ ὀστέα αὐτῶν συνέθλασαν καὶ ἐμέλισαν ὡς σάρκας εἰς λέβητα καὶ ὡς κρέα εἰς χύτραν
qui comederunt carnem populi mei, et pellem eorum desuper excoriaverunt, et ossa eorum confregerunt, et conciderunt sicut in lebete, et quasi carnem in medio ollae ?
ወበከመ፡ በልዑ፡ ስጋሆሙ፡ ለሕዝብየ፡ ወአውፅኡ፡ አምእስቲሙ፡ እምስቲሆሙ፡ እምውስተ፡ አዕጽምቲሆሙ፡ ወገመዱ፡ መሌሊቶሙ፡ ከመ፡ ስጋ፡ ውስተ፡ ጽሕርት፡ ወከመ፡ አባል፡ ውስተ፡ መቅጹት።
who also eat the flesh of my people, and peel their skin from off them, and break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as meat within the cauldron.
3:4
אָ֚ז יִזְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְלֹ֥א יַעֲנֶ֖ה אוֹתָ֑ם וְיַסְתֵּ֨ר פָּנָ֤יו מֵהֶם֙ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔יא כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הֵרֵ֖עוּ מַעַלְלֵיהֶֽם׃ {פ}
οὕτως κεκράξονται πρὸς κύριον καὶ οὐκ εἰσακούσεται αὐτῶν καὶ ἀποστρέψει τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἀνθ’ ὧν ἐπονηρεύσαντο ἐν τοῖς ἐπιτηδεύμασιν αὐτῶν ἐπ’ αὐτούς
Tunc clamabunt ad Dominum, et non exaudiet eos, et abscondet faciem suam ab eis in tempore illo, sicut nequiter egerunt in adinventionibus suis.
ከማሁ፡ ይጸርሑ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወኢይሰምዖሙ፡ ወይመይጥ፡ ገጾ፡ እምኔሆሙ፡ ይእተ፡ አቢረ፡ እስመ፡ አሕሠሙ፡ ገቢረ፡ ላዕለሌሆሙ።
Then they will cry to Yahweh, but he will not answer them. Yes, he will hide his face from them at that time, because they made their deeds evil.”
3:5
כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה עַל־הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים הַמַּתְעִ֣ים אֶת־עַמִּ֑י הַנֹּשְׁכִ֤ים בְּשִׁנֵּיהֶם֙ וְקָרְא֣וּ שָׁל֔וֹם וַֽאֲשֶׁר֙ לֹא־יִתֵּ֣ן עַל־פִּיהֶ֔ם וְקִדְּשׁ֥וּ עָלָ֖יו מִלְחָמָֽה׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ τοὺς προφήτας τοὺς πλανῶντας τὸν λαόν μου τοὺς δάκνοντας ἐν τοῖς ὀδοῦσιν αὐτῶν καὶ κηρύσσοντας ἐπ’ αὐτὸν εἰρήνην καὶ οὐκ ἐδόθη εἰς τὸ στόμα αὐτῶν ἤγειραν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν πόλεμον
Haec dicit Dominus super prophetas, qui seducunt populum meum : qui mordent dentibus suis, et praedicant pacem ; et si quis non dederit in ore eorum quippiam, sanctificant super eum praelium.
ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ላዕለ፡ ነቢያት፡ እለ፡ ስሕትዎሙ፡ ለሕዝብየ፡ እለ፡ ይኔዝርዎሙ፡ በስነኒሆሙ፡ ወይሰብኩ፡ ሎሙ፡ ሰላመ፡ ዘአልቦ፡ ዘአዘዞሙ፡ ወአንስኡ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ ቀት።
Yahweh says concerning the prophets who lead my people astray—for those who feed their teeth, they proclaim, “Peace!” and whoever doesn’t provide for their mouths, they prepare war against him:
3:6
לָכֵ֞ן לַ֤יְלָה לָכֶם֙ מֵֽחָז֔וֹן וְחָשְׁכָ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם מִקְּסֹ֑ם וּבָ֤אָה הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ עַל־הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים וְקָדַ֥ר עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם הַיּֽוֹם׃
διὰ τοῦτο νὺξ ὑμῖν ἔσται ἐξ ὁράσεως καὶ σκοτία ὑμῖν ἔσται ἐκ μαντείας καὶ δύσεται ὁ ἥλιος ἐπὶ τοὺς προφήτας καὶ συσκοτάσει ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς ἡ ἡμέρα
Propterea nox vobis pro visione erit, et tenebrae vobis pro divinatione ; et occumbet sol super prophetas, et obtenebrabitur super eos dies.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ሌሊት፡ ይከውነክሙ፡ ራእይክሙ፡ ወጽልመተ፡ ይከውነክሙ፡ ሰገልከሙ፡ ወየዐርቦሙ፡ ፀሐይ፡ ለነቢያት፡ ወይጸልሞሙ፡ መዓልት።
“Therefore night is over you, with no vision, and it is dark to you, that you may not divine; and the sun will go down on the prophets, and the day will be black over them.
3:7
וּבֹ֣שׁוּ הַחֹזִ֗ים וְחָֽפְרוּ֙ הַקֹּ֣סְמִ֔ים וְעָט֥וּ עַל־שָׂפָ֖ם כֻּלָּ֑ם כִּ֛י אֵ֥ין מַעֲנֵ֖ה אֱלֹהִֽים׃
καὶ καταισχυνθήσονται οἱ ὁρῶντες τὰ ἐνύπνια καὶ καταγελασθήσονται οἱ μάντεις καὶ καταλαλήσουσιν κατ’ αὐτῶν πάντες αὐτοί διότι οὐκ ἔσται ὁ εἰσακούων αὐτῶν
Et confundentur qui vident visiones, et confundentur divini ; et operient omnes vultos suos, quia non est responsum Dei.
ወይትኀፈሩ፡ ሐላምያነ፡ ህልመ፡ ሐሰት፡ ወይስሕቅዎሙ፡ ለሰብአ፡ ሰገል፡ ወየሐምይዎሙ፡ ለኰሎሙ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘያጸምዖሙ፡ እንከ።
The seers shall be disappointed, and the diviners confounded. Yes, they shall all cover their lips, for there is no answer from God.”
3:8
וְאוּלָ֗ם אָנֹכִ֞י מָלֵ֤אתִי כֹ֙חַ֙ אֶת־ר֣וּחַ יְהֹוָ֔ה וּמִשְׁפָּ֖ט וּגְבוּרָ֑ה לְהַגִּ֤יד לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ פִּשְׁע֔וֹ וּלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל חַטָּאתֽוֹ׃ {פ}
ἐὰν μὴ ἐγὼ ἐμπλήσω ἰσχὺν ἐν πνεύματι κυρίου καὶ κρίματος καὶ δυναστείας τοῦ ἀπαγγεῖλαι τῷ Ιακωβ ἀσεβείας αὐτοῦ καὶ τῷ Ισραηλ ἁμαρτίας αὐτοῦ
Verumtamen ego repletus sum fortitudine spiritus Domini, judicio, et virtute, ut annuntiem Jacob scelus suum, et Israël peccatum suum.
ለእመ፡ አነ፡ ኢመላእ፡ ኃይለ፡ መንፈሰ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወኃይለ፡ ወፍትሐ፡ ከመ፡ ይንግርዎ፡ ለያዕቆብ፡ ኃጢአቶ፡ ወልስራኤል፡ ጌጋዩ።
But as for me, I am full of power by Yahweh’s Spirit, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his disobedience, and to Israel his sin.
3:9
שִׁמְעוּ־נָ֣א זֹ֗את רָאשֵׁי֙ בֵּ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֔ב וּקְצִינֵ֖י בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל הַֽמְתַעֲבִ֣ים מִשְׁפָּ֔ט וְאֵ֥ת כׇּל־הַיְשָׁרָ֖ה יְעַקֵּֽשׁוּ׃
ἀκούσατε δὴ ταῦτα οἱ ἡγούμενοι οἴκου Ιακωβ καὶ οἱ κατάλοιποι οἴκου Ισραηλ οἱ βδελυσσόμενοι κρίμα καὶ πάντα τὰ ὀρθὰ διαστρέφοντες
Audite hoc, principes domus Jacob, et judices domus Israël, qui abominamini judicium, et omnia recta pervertitis :
ስምዕ፡ ዘንተ፡ መኳንንተ፡ ቤተ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ዋታራፋ፡ ቤተ፡ እስራኤል፡ እለ፡ ታስቆርርዋ፡ ለጽድቅ፡ ወትገፈትዕዋ፡ ለርትዕ።
Please listen to this, you heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, who abhor justice, and pervert all equity,
3:10
בֹּנֶ֥ה צִיּ֖וֹן בְּדָמִ֑ים וִירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בְּעַוְלָֽה׃
οἱ οἰκοδομοῦντες Σιων ἐν αἵμασιν καὶ Ιερουσαλημ ἐν ἀδικίαις
qui aedificatis Sion in sanguinibus, et Jerusalem in iniquitate.
እለ፡ ተሐንጽዋ፡ ለጽዮን፡ በደም፡ ወለኢየሩሳሌም፡ በዐመፃ።
who build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
3:11
רָאשֶׁ֣יהָ׀ בְּשֹׁ֣חַד יִשְׁפֹּ֗טוּ וְכֹהֲנֶ֙יהָ֙ בִּמְחִ֣יר יוֹר֔וּ וּנְבִיאֶ֖יהָ בְּכֶ֣סֶף יִקְסֹ֑מוּ וְעַל־יְהֹוָה֙ יִשָּׁעֵ֣נוּ לֵאמֹ֔ר הֲל֤וֹא יְהֹוָה֙ בְּקִרְבֵּ֔נוּ לֹֽא־תָב֥וֹא עָלֵ֖ינוּ רָעָֽה׃
οἱ ἡγούμενοι αὐτῆς μετὰ δώρων ἔκρινον καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς αὐτῆς μετὰ μισθοῦ ἀπεκρίνοντο καὶ οἱ προφῆται αὐτῆς μετὰ ἀργυρίου ἐμαντεύοντο καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον ἐπανεπαύοντο λέγοντες οὐχὶ κύριος ἐν ἡμῖν ἐστιν οὐ μὴ ἐπέλθῃ ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς κακά
Principes ejus in muneribus judicabant, et sacerdotes ejus in mercede docebant, et prophetae ejus in pecunia divinabant : et super Dominum requiescebant, dicentes : Numquid non Dominus in medio nostrum ? non venient super nos mala.
መኳንንቲሃኒ፡ በሕልያን፡ ይኬንኑ፡ ወካህናቲሃኒ፡ በዐስብ፡ ያወስኡ፡ ወነቢያቲሃኒ፡ በወርቅ፡ ያስግሉ፡ ወላዕለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ያሰምኩ፡ ወይብ፡ አኮ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ምስሌነ፡ ወኢይረክበነ፡ አኩይ።
Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money; yet they lean on Yahweh, and say, “Isn’t Yahweh among us? No disaster will come on us.”
3:12
לָכֵן֙ בִּגְלַלְכֶ֔ם צִיּ֖וֹן שָׂדֶ֣ה תֵֽחָרֵ֑שׁ וִירוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ עִיִּ֣ין תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה וְהַ֥ר הַבַּ֖יִת לְבָמ֥וֹת יָֽעַר׃ {פ}
διὰ τοῦτο δῑ ὑμᾶς Σιων ὡς ἀγρὸς ἀροτριαθήσεται καὶ Ιερουσαλημ ὡς ὀπωροφυλάκιον ἔσται καὶ τὸ ὄρος τοῦ οἴκου ὡς ἄλσος δρυμοῦ
Propter hoc, causa vestri, Sion quasi ager arabitur, et Jerusalem quasi acervus lapidum erit, et mons templi in excelsa silvarum.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ በበይነ፡ ዚአክሙ፡ የሐርስዋ፡ ለጽዩን፡ ከመ፡ ገራህት፡ ወትከውን፡ ኢየሩሳም፡ ከመ፡ ልገተ፡ ዓቃቤ፡ ቀምሕ፡ ወደብረ፡ ቤቱሂ፡ ከመ፡ ኦመ፡ ገዳም።
Therefore Zion for your sake will be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem will become heaps of rubble, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of a forest.
