13:1
וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃
καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων
Profectusque est populus de Haseroth, fixis tentoriis in deserto Pharan.
ወነበቦ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሙሴ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፤
Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
13:2
שְׁלַח־לְךָ֣ אֲנָשִׁ֗ים וְיָתֻ֙רוּ֙ אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ כְּנַ֔עַן אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִ֥י נֹתֵ֖ן לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִ֣ישׁ אֶחָד֩ אִ֨ישׁ אֶחָ֜ד לְמַטֵּ֤ה אֲבֹתָיו֙ תִּשְׁלָ֔חוּ כֹּ֖ל נָשִׂ֥יא בָהֶֽם׃
ἀπόστειλον σεαυτῷ ἄνδρας καὶ κατασκεψάσθωσαν τὴν γῆν τῶν Χαναναίων ἣν ἐγὼ δίδωμι τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ εἰς κατάσχεσιν ἄνδρα ἕνα κατὰ φυλὴν κατὰ δήμους πατριῶν αὐτῶν ἀποστελεῖς αὐτούς πάντα ἀρχηγὸν ἐξ αὐτῶν
Ibique locutus est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
ፈኑ ፡ ዕደወ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ዐይን ፡ እለ ፡ ይሬእይዋ ፡ ለምድረ ፡ ከናአን ፡ እንተ ፡ አነ ፡ እሁቦሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ከመ ፡ ይኰንንዋ ፤ አሐዱ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ ነገዶሙ ፡ ወእምውስተ ፡ ሕዘቢሆሙ ፡ ዘአብያተ ፡ አበዊሆሙ ፤ ወትፌኑ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዐበይቶሙ ።
“Send men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel. Of every tribe of their fathers, you shall send a man, every one a prince among them.”
13:3
וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח אֹתָ֥ם מֹשֶׁ֛ה מִמִּדְבַּ֥ר פָּארָ֖ן עַל־פִּ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה כֻּלָּ֣ם אֲנָשִׁ֔ים רָאשֵׁ֥י בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הֵֽמָּה׃
καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς Μωυσῆς ἐκ τῆς ἐρήμου Φαραν διὰ φωνῆς κυρίου πάντες ἄνδρες ἀρχηγοὶ υἱῶν Ισραηλ οὗτοι
Mitte viros, qui considerent terram Chanaan, quam daturus sum filiis Israël, singulos de singulis tribubus, ex principibus.
[*ወፈነዎሙ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ እምነ ፡ ገዳም ፡ ዘፋራን ፡ በቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወእሉ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ ዕደው ፡ ዐበይቶሙ ፡*] ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እሙንቱ ።
Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of Yahweh. All of them were men who were heads of the children of Israel.
13:4
וְאֵ֖לֶּה שְׁמוֹתָ֑ם לְמַטֵּ֣ה רְאוּבֵ֔ן שַׁמּ֖וּעַ בֶּן־זַכּֽוּר׃
καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα αὐτῶν τῆς φυλῆς Ρουβην Σαλαμιηλ υἱὸς Ζακχουρ
Fecit Moyses quod Dominus imperaverat, de deserto Pharan mittens principes viros, quorum ista sunt nomina.
ወዝንቱ ፡ አስማቲሆሙ ፡ ዘእምነገደ ፡ ሮቤል ፡ [ሰ]ሙ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ዝ[ኩር] ።
These were their names: Of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.
13:5
לְמַטֵּ֣ה שִׁמְע֔וֹן שָׁפָ֖ט בֶּן־חוֹרִֽי׃
τῆς φυλῆς Συμεων Σαφατ υἱὸς Σουρι
De tribu Ruben, Sammua filium Zechur.
ወዘእምነገደ ፡ ስምዖን ፡ ሰፈጥ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሱሪ ።
Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori.
13:6
לְמַטֵּ֣ה יְהוּדָ֔ה כָּלֵ֖ב בֶּן־יְפֻנֶּֽה׃
τῆς φυλῆς Ιουδα Χαλεβ υἱὸς Ιεφοννη
De tribu Simeon, Saphat filium Huri.
ወዘእምነገደ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ካ[ሌብ] ፡ ወልደ ፡ ዬፎኔ ።
Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
13:7
לְמַטֵּ֣ה יִשָּׂשכָ֔ר יִגְאָ֖ל בֶּן־יוֹסֵֽף׃
τῆς φυλῆς Ισσαχαρ Ιγααλ υἱὸς Ιωσηφ
De tribu Juda, Caleb filium Jephone.
ወዘእምነገደ ፡ ይስካር ፡ ኢጋል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ዮሴፍ ።
Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.
13:8
לְמַטֵּ֥ה אֶפְרָ֖יִם הוֹשֵׁ֥עַ בִּן־נֽוּן׃
τῆς φυλῆς Εφραιμ Αυση υἱὸς Ναυη
De tribu Issachar, Igal filium Joseph.
ወዘእምነገደ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ አውሴ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ነዌ ።
Of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun.
13:9
לְמַטֵּ֣ה בִנְיָמִ֔ן פַּלְטִ֖י בֶּן־רָפֽוּא׃
τῆς φυλῆς Βενιαμιν Φαλτι υἱὸς Ραφου
De tribu Ephraim, Osee filium Nun.
ወዘእምነገደ ፡ ብንያሚ ፡ ፈልጢ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ራፈው ።
Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.
13:10
לְמַטֵּ֣ה זְבוּלֻ֔ן גַּדִּיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־סוֹדִֽי׃
τῆς φυλῆς Ζαβουλων Γουδιηλ υἱὸς Σουδι
De tribu Benjamin, Phalti filium Raphu.
ወዘእምነገደ ፡ ዛቡሎን ፡ ጉዲዬል ፡ ወልደ ፡ [ሶ]ዲ ።
Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi.
13:11
לְמַטֵּ֥ה יוֹסֵ֖ף לְמַטֵּ֣ה מְנַשֶּׁ֑ה גַּדִּ֖י בֶּן־סוּסִֽי׃
τῆς φυλῆς Ιωσηφ τῶν υἱῶν Μανασση Γαδδι υἱὸς Σουσι
De tribu Zabulon, Geddiel filium Sodi.
ወዘእምነገዶ ፡ ዮሴፍ ፡ ዘእምደቂቀ ፡ መናሴ ፡ ገዲ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሱሲ ።
Of the tribe of Joseph, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi.
13:12
לְמַטֵּ֣ה דָ֔ן עַמִּיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־גְּמַלִּֽי׃
τῆς φυλῆς Δαν Αμιηλ υἱὸς Γαμαλι
De tribu Joseph, sceptri Manasse, Gaddi filium Susi.
ወዘእምነገደ ፡ ዳን ፡ አሚሔል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ገማሊ ።
Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.
13:13
לְמַטֵּ֣ה אָשֵׁ֔ר סְת֖וּר בֶּן־מִיכָאֵֽל׃
τῆς φυλῆς Ασηρ Σαθουρ υἱὸς Μιχαηλ
De tribu Dan, Ammiel filium Gemalli.
ወዘእምነገደ ፡ አሴር ፡ ሳቱር ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሚካኤል ።
Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.
13:14
לְמַטֵּ֣ה נַפְתָּלִ֔י נַחְבִּ֖י בֶּן־וׇפְסִֽי׃
τῆς φυλῆς Νεφθαλι Ναβι υἱὸς Ιαβι
De tribu Aser, Sthur filium Michaël.
ወዘእምነገደ ፡ ንፍታሌም ፡ ናቢ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ያቢ ።
Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi.
13:15
לְמַטֵּ֣ה גָ֔ד גְּאוּאֵ֖ל בֶּן־מָכִֽי׃
τῆς φυλῆς Γαδ Γουδιηλ υἱὸς Μακχι
De tribu Nephthali, Nahabi filium Vapsi.
ወዘእምነገደ ፡ ጋድ ፡ ጉዲያል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ማኪ ።
Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.
13:16
אֵ֚לֶּה שְׁמ֣וֹת הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַ֥ח מֹשֶׁ֖ה לָת֣וּר אֶת־הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיִּקְרָ֥א מֹשֶׁ֛ה לְהוֹשֵׁ֥עַ בִּן־נ֖וּן יְהוֹשֻֽׁעַ׃
ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν ἀνδρῶν οὓς ἀπέστειλεν Μωυσῆς κατασκέψασθαι τὴν γῆν καὶ ἐπωνόμασεν Μωυσῆς τὸν Αυση υἱὸν Ναυη Ἰησοῦν
De tribu Gad, Guel filium Machi.
ዝንቱ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ አስማቲሆሙ ፡ ለዕደው ፡ እለ ፡ ፈነወ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይርአይዋ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወሰመዮ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ለአውሴ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ነዌ ፡ ኢየሱስ ።
These are the names of the men who Moses sent to spy out the land. Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.
13:17
וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח אֹתָם֙ מֹשֶׁ֔ה לָת֖וּר אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֗ם עֲל֥וּ זֶה֙ בַּנֶּ֔גֶב וַעֲלִיתֶ֖ם אֶת־הָהָֽר׃
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς Μωυσῆς κατασκέψασθαι τὴν γῆν Χανααν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς ἀνάβητε ταύτῃ τῇ ἐρήμῳ καὶ ἀναβήσεσθε εἰς τὸ ὄρος
Haec sunt nomina virorum, quos misit Moyses ad considerandam terram : vocavitque Osee filium Nun, Josue.
ወፈነዎሙ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይርአይዋ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ከናአን ፡ ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ዕረጉ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ገዳም ፡ ወእምዝ ፡ ተዐርጉ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ደብር ።
Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up this way by the South, and go up into the hill country.
13:18
וּרְאִיתֶ֥ם אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ מַה־הִ֑וא וְאֶת־הָעָם֙ הַיֹּשֵׁ֣ב עָלֶ֔יהָ הֶחָזָ֥ק הוּא֙ הֲרָפֶ֔ה הַמְעַ֥ט ה֖וּא אִם־רָֽב׃
καὶ ὄψεσθε τὴν γῆν τίς ἐστιν καὶ τὸν λαὸν τὸν ἐγκαθήμενον ἐπ’ αὐτῆς εἰ ἰσχυρότερός ἐστιν ἢ ἀσθενής εἰ ὀλίγοι εἰσὶν ἢ πολλοί
Misit ergo eos Moyses ad considerandam terram Chanaan, et dixit ad eos : Ascendite per meridianam plagam. Cumque veneritis ad montes,
ወርእይዋ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ከመ ፡ እፎ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ወሕዝብኒ ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ እመ ፡ ጽኑዓን ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ወእመ ፡ ድኩማን ፡ ወእመ ፡ ውሑዳን ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ወእመ ፡ ብዘኃን ።
See the land, what it is; and the people who dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many;
13:19
וּמָ֣ה הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־הוּא֙ יֹשֵׁ֣ב בָּ֔הּ הֲטוֹבָ֥ה הִ֖וא אִם־רָעָ֑ה וּמָ֣ה הֶֽעָרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁר־הוּא֙ יוֹשֵׁ֣ב בָּהֵ֔נָּה הַבְּמַֽחֲנִ֖ים אִ֥ם בְּמִבְצָרִֽים׃
καὶ τίς ἡ γῆ εἰς ἣν οὗτοι ἐγκάθηνται ἐπ’ αὐτῆς εἰ καλή ἐστιν ἢ πονηρά καὶ τίνες αἱ πόλεις εἰς ἃς οὗτοι κατοικοῦσιν ἐν αὐταῖς εἰ ἐν τειχήρεσιν ἢ ἐν ἀτειχίστοις
considerate terram, qualis sit : et populum qui habitator est ejus, utrum fortis sit an infirmus : si pauci numero an plures :
ወእንተ ፡ ከመ ፡ እፎ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ምድራ ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ እመ ፡ ሠ ናይት ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ወእመ ፡ እኪት ፡ ወዘከመ ፡ እፎ ፡ ውእቶን ፡ አህጉሪሆ[ሙ] ፡ እለ ፡ ውስቴቶን ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ወለእመ ፡ ቦንቱ ፡ ቅጽረ ፡ ወለእመ ፡ አልቦንቱ ።
and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds;
13:20
וּמָ֣ה הָ֠אָ֠רֶץ הַשְּׁמֵנָ֨ה הִ֜וא אִם־רָזָ֗ה הֲיֵֽשׁ־בָּ֥הּ עֵץ֙ אִם־אַ֔יִן וְהִ֨תְחַזַּקְתֶּ֔ם וּלְקַחְתֶּ֖ם מִפְּרִ֣י הָאָ֑רֶץ וְהַ֨יָּמִ֔ים יְמֵ֖י בִּכּוּרֵ֥י עֲנָבִֽים׃
καὶ τίς ἡ γῆ εἰ πίων ἢ παρειμένη εἰ ἔστιν ἐν αὐτῇ δένδρα ἢ οὔ καὶ προσκαρτερήσαντες λήμψεσθε ἀπὸ τῶν καρπῶν τῆς γῆς καὶ αἱ ἡμέραι ἡμέραι ἔαρος πρόδρομοι σταφυλῆς
ipsa terra, bona an mala : urbes quales, muratae an absque muris :
ወእንተ ፡ ከመ ፡ እፎ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ምድራ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ጥልልት ፡ ወለእመ ፡ ይብስት ፡ ለእመ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ አእዋመ ፡ ወለእመ ፡ አልቦቱ ፡ ወርእየክሙ ፡ ንሥኡ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ ፍሬሃ ፡ ወመዋዕሊሁ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ ማእረር ፡ እንበለ ፡ ይትቀሠም ፡ ወይን ።
and what the land is, whether it is fertile or poor, whether there is wood therein, or not. Be courageous, and bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes.
13:21
וַֽיַּעֲל֖וּ וַיָּתֻ֣רוּ אֶת־הָאָ֑רֶץ מִמִּדְבַּר־צִ֥ן עַד־רְחֹ֖ב לְבֹ֥א חֲמָֽת׃
καὶ ἀναβάντες κατεσκέψαντο τὴν γῆν ἀπὸ τῆς ἐρήμου Σιν ἕως Ρααβ εἰσπορευομένων Εφααθ
humus, pinguis an sterilis, nemorosa an absque arboribus. Confortamini, et afferte nobis de fructibus terrae. Erat autem tempus quando jam praecoquae uvae vesci possunt.
ወዐርጉ ፡ ወርእይዋ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ እምነ ፡ ገዳም ፡ ዘ[ፂን] ፡ እስከ ፡ ሮዖብ ፡ እንዘ ፡ የሐውሩ ፡ ለኤመት ።
So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath.
13:22
וַיַּעֲל֣וּ בַנֶּ֘גֶב֮ וַיָּבֹ֣א עַד־חֶבְרוֹן֒ וְשָׁ֤ם אֲחִימַן֙ שֵׁשַׁ֣י וְתַלְמַ֔י יְלִידֵ֖י הָעֲנָ֑ק וְחֶבְר֗וֹן שֶׁ֤בַע שָׁנִים֙ נִבְנְתָ֔ה לִפְנֵ֖י צֹ֥עַן מִצְרָֽיִם׃
καὶ ἀνέβησαν κατὰ τὴν ἔρημον καὶ ἦλθον ἕως Χεβρων καὶ ἐκεῖ Αχιμαν καὶ Σεσσι καὶ Θελαμιν γενεαὶ Εναχ καὶ Χεβρων ἑπτὰ ἔτεσιν ᾠκοδομήθη πρὸ τοῦ Τάνιν Αἰγύπτου
Cumque ascendissent, exploraverunt terram a deserto Sin, usque Rohob intrantibus Emath.
ወዐርጉ ፡ እንተ ፡ ገዳም ፡ ወበጽሑ ፡ እስከ ፡ ኬብሮን ፡ ወህየ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ አኪ[መ]ን ፡ ወሴሲ ፡ ወተላሚ ፡ ፍጥረቱ ፡ ለኤናቅ ፡ ወኬብሮንሂ ፡ እንተ ፡ በሰብፀቱ ፡ ዓመት ፡ ተነድቀት ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ጠኒ ፡ ዘግብጽ ።
They went up by the South, and came to Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
13:23
וַיָּבֹ֜אוּ עַד־נַ֣חַל אֶשְׁכֹּ֗ל וַיִּכְרְת֨וּ מִשָּׁ֤ם זְמוֹרָה֙ וְאֶשְׁכּ֤וֹל עֲנָבִים֙ אֶחָ֔ד וַיִּשָּׂאֻ֥הוּ בַמּ֖וֹט בִּשְׁנָ֑יִם וּמִן־הָרִמֹּנִ֖ים וּמִן־הַתְּאֵנִֽים׃
καὶ ἤλθοσαν ἕως Φάραγγος βότρυος καὶ κατεσκέψαντο αὐτήν καὶ ἔκοψαν ἐκεῖθεν κλῆμα καὶ βότρυν σταφυλῆς ἕνα ἐπ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἦραν αὐτὸν ἐπ’ ἀναφορεῦσιν καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ῥοῶν καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν συκῶν
Ascenderuntque ad meridiem, et venerunt in Hebron, ubi erant Achiman et Sisai et Tholmai filii Enac : nam Hebron septem annis ante Tanim urbem Aegypti condita est.
ወበጽሑ ፡ እስከ ፡ ቈላተ ፡ ዐጽቅ ፡ ወርእይዋ ፡ ወገመዱ ፡ እምህየ ፡ ሐረገ ፡ ወይን ፡ ወውስቴታ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ አስካል ፡ ወጾርዎ ፡ በመዝለል ፡ ወእምውስተ ፡ ሮማንሂ ፡ ወእምውስተ ፡ በለስሂ ።
They came to the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bore it on a staff between two. They also brought some of the pomegranates and figs.
13:24
לַמָּק֣וֹם הַה֔וּא קָרָ֖א נַ֣חַל אֶשְׁכּ֑וֹל עַ֚ל אֹד֣וֹת הָֽאֶשְׁכּ֔וֹל אֲשֶׁר־כָּרְת֥וּ מִשָּׁ֖ם בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
τὸν τόπον ἐκεῖνον ἐπωνόμασαν Φάραγξ βότρυος διὰ τὸν βότρυν ὃν ἔκοψαν ἐκεῖθεν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ
Pergentesque usque ad Torrentem botri, absciderunt palmitem cum uva sua, quem portaverunt in vecte duo viri. De malis quoque granatis et de ficis loci illius tulerunt :
ወሰመይዎ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ መካን ፡ ቈላ ፡ ሐረግ ፡ [በእንተ ፡ ሐረግ ፡] ዘገመዱ ፡ እምህየ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ።
That place was called the valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the children of Israel cut down from there.
13:25
וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ מִתּ֣וּר הָאָ֑רֶץ מִקֵּ֖ץ אַרְבָּעִ֥ים יֽוֹם׃
καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν ἐκεῖθεν κατασκεψάμενοι τὴν γῆν μετὰ τεσσαράκοντα ἡμέρας
qui appellatus est Nehelescol, id est Torrens botri, eo quod botrum portassent inde filii Israël.
ወገብኡ ፡ እምህየ ፡ ርእዮሙ ፡ ይእተ ፡ ምድረ ፡ በአርብዓ ፡ ጽባሕ ።
They returned from spying out the land at the end of forty days.
13:26
וַיֵּלְכ֡וּ וַיָּבֹ֩אוּ֩ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֨ה וְאֶֽל־אַהֲרֹ֜ן וְאֶל־כׇּל־עֲדַ֧ת בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֶל־מִדְבַּ֥ר פָּארָ֖ן קָדֵ֑שָׁה וַיָּשִׁ֨יבוּ אֹתָ֤ם דָּבָר֙ וְאֶת־כׇּל־הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה וַיַּרְא֖וּם אֶת־פְּרִ֥י הָאָֽרֶץ׃
καὶ πορευθέντες ἦλθον πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ Ααρων καὶ πρὸς πᾶσαν συναγωγὴν υἱῶν Ισραηλ εἰς τὴν ἔρημον Φαραν Καδης καὶ ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτοῖς ῥῆμα καὶ πάσῃ τῇ συναγωγῇ καὶ ἔδειξαν τὸν καρπὸν τῆς γῆς
Reversique exploratores terrae post quadraginta dies, omni regione circuita,
ወሐዊሮሙ ፡ በጽሑ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ወአሮን ፡ ወኀበ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ ተዓይኒሆሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገዳም ፡ ዘፋራን ፡ ቃዴስ ፡ ወነገርዎሙ ፡ ዜናሆሙ ፡ ወለኵሉ ፡ ተዓይኒሆሙ ፡ ወአርአይዎሙ ፡ ፍሬሃ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ምድር ።
They went and came to Moses, to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them and to all the congregation. They showed them the fruit of the land.
13:27
וַיְסַפְּרוּ־לוֹ֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ בָּ֕אנוּ אֶל־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שְׁלַחְתָּ֑נוּ וְ֠גַ֠ם זָבַ֨ת חָלָ֥ב וּדְבַ֛שׁ הִ֖וא וְזֶה־פִּרְיָֽהּ׃
καὶ διηγήσαντο αὐτῷ καὶ εἶπαν ἤλθαμεν εἰς τὴν γῆν εἰς ἣν ἀπέστειλας ἡμᾶς γῆν ῥέουσαν γάλα καὶ μέλι καὶ οὗτος ὁ καρπὸς αὐτῆς
venerunt ad Moysen et Aaron et ad omnem coetum filiorum Israël in desertum Pharan, quod est in Cades. Locutique eis et omni multitudini ostenderunt fructus terrae :
ወነገርዎሙ ፡ ወይቤሉ ፡ በጻሕነ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ ኀበ ፡ ፈነውከነ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ትውሕዝ ፡ ሐሊበ ፡ ወመዓረ ፡ ወናሁ ፡ ፍሬሃ ።
They told him, and said, “We came to the land where you sent us. Surely it flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
13:28
אֶ֚פֶס כִּֽי־עַ֣ז הָעָ֔ם הַיֹּשֵׁ֖ב בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְהֶֽעָרִ֗ים בְּצֻר֤וֹת גְּדֹלֹת֙ מְאֹ֔ד וְגַם־יְלִדֵ֥י הָֽעֲנָ֖ק רָאִ֥ינוּ שָֽׁם׃
ἀλλ’ ἢ ὅτι θρασὺ τὸ ἔθνος τὸ κατοικοῦν ἐπ’ αὐτῆς καὶ αἱ πόλεις ὀχυραὶ τετειχισμέναι καὶ μεγάλαι σφόδρα καὶ τὴν γενεὰν Εναχ ἑωράκαμεν ἐκεῖ
et narraverunt, dicentes : Venimus in terram, ad quam misisti nos, quae revera fluit lacte et melle, ut ex his fructibus cognosci potest :
ወሕዝብኒ ፡ ዘይነብር ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ ጽኑዕ ፡ ወአህጉሪሃኒ ፡ ጽኑዕ ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ወዐበይት ፡ ወቦንቱ ፡ ቅጽረ ፡ ወሙላዱ ፡ ለኤናቅ ፡ ርኢነ ፡ በህየ ።
However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover, we saw the children of Anak there.
13:29
עֲמָלֵ֥ק יוֹשֵׁ֖ב בְּאֶ֣רֶץ הַנֶּ֑גֶב וְ֠הַֽחִתִּ֠י וְהַיְבוּסִ֤י וְהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙ יוֹשֵׁ֣ב בָּהָ֔ר וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ יוֹשֵׁ֣ב עַל־הַיָּ֔ם וְעַ֖ל יַ֥ד הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃
καὶ Αμαληκ κατοικεῖ ἐν τῇ γῇ τῇ πρὸς νότον καὶ ὁ Χετταῖος καὶ ὁ Ευαῖος καὶ ὁ Ιεβουσαῖος καὶ ὁ Αμορραῖος κατοικεῖ ἐν τῇ ὀρεινῇ καὶ ὁ Χαναναῖος κατοικεῖ παρὰ θάλασσαν καὶ παρὰ τὸν Ιορδάνην ποταμόν
sed cultores fortissimos habet, et urbes grandes atque muratas. Stirpem Enac vidimus ibi.
ወዐማሌቅ ፡ ኅዱራን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ መንገለ ፡ አዜብ ፡ ወኬጤዎስ ፡ ወአሞሬዎስ ፡ ወኤዌዎስ ፡ ወኢየቡሴዎስ ፡ ኅዱራን ፡ ውስተ ፡ አድባሪሃ ፡ ወከናአንሰ ፡ ኅዱራን ፡ መንገለ ፡ ባሕር ፡ ወመንገለ ፡ ፈለገ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ።
Amalek dwells in the land of the South. The Hittite, the Jebusite, and the Amorite dwell in the hill country. The Canaanite dwells by the sea, and along the side of the Jordan.”
13:30
וַיַּ֧הַס כָּלֵ֛ב אֶת־הָעָ֖ם אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֑ה וַיֹּ֗אמֶר עָלֹ֤ה נַעֲלֶה֙ וְיָרַ֣שְׁנוּ אֹתָ֔הּ כִּֽי־יָכ֥וֹל נוּכַ֖ל לָֽהּ׃
καὶ κατεσιώπησεν Χαλεβ τὸν λαὸν πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ οὐχί ἀλλὰ ἀναβάντες ἀναβησόμεθα καὶ κατακληρονομήσομεν αὐτήν ὅτι δυνατοὶ δυνησόμεθα πρὸς αὐτούς
Amalec habitat in meridie, Hethaeus et Jebusaeus et Amorrhaeus in montanis : Chananaeus vero moratur juxta mare et circa fluenta Jordanis.
ወአዘዘ ፡ ካሌብ ፡ ያርምም ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ [ወይቤ ፡] አልቦ ፡ አላ ፡ ዐሪገ ፡ ነዐርግ ፡ ወንትዋረሳ ፡ እስመ ፡ ክሂለኒ ፡ ንክሎሙ ።
Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let’s go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it!”
13:31
וְהָ֨אֲנָשִׁ֜ים אֲשֶׁר־עָל֤וּ עִמּוֹ֙ אָֽמְר֔וּ לֹ֥א נוּכַ֖ל לַעֲל֣וֹת אֶל־הָעָ֑ם כִּֽי־חָזָ֥ק ה֖וּא מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃
καὶ οἱ ἄνθρωποι οἱ συναναβάντες μετ’ αὐτοῦ εἶπαν οὐκ ἀναβαίνομεν ὅτι οὐ μὴ δυνώμεθα ἀναβῆναι πρὸς τὸ ἔθνος ὅτι ἰσχυρότερόν ἐστιν ἡμῶν μᾶλλον
Inter haec Caleb compescens murmur populi, qui oriebatur contra Moysen, ait : Ascendamus, et possideamus terram, quoniam poterimus obtinere eam.
ወይቤሉ ፡ እልክቱ ፡ እለ ፡ ዐርጉ ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፡ ዕደው ፡ ኢነዐርግ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢንክል ፡ ዐሪገ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ እስመ ፡ ይጸንዑ ፡ እምኔነ ፡ ፈድፋደ ።
But the men who went up with him said, “We aren’t able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”
13:32
וַיֹּצִ֜יאוּ דִּבַּ֤ת הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תָּר֣וּ אֹתָ֔הּ אֶל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר הָאָ֡רֶץ אֲשֶׁר֩ עָבַ֨רְנוּ בָ֜הּ לָת֣וּר אֹתָ֗הּ אֶ֣רֶץ אֹכֶ֤לֶת יוֹשְׁבֶ֙יהָ֙ הִ֔וא וְכׇל־הָעָ֛ם אֲשֶׁר־רָאִ֥ינוּ בְתוֹכָ֖הּ אַנְשֵׁ֥י מִדּֽוֹת׃
καὶ ἐξήνεγκαν ἔκστασιν τῆς γῆς ἣν κατεσκέψαντο αὐτήν πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ λέγοντες τὴν γῆν ἣν παρήλθομεν αὐτὴν κατασκέψασθαι γῆ κατέσθουσα τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἐστιν πᾶς ὁ λαός ὃν ἑωράκαμεν ἐν αὐτῇ ἄνδρες ὑπερμήκεις
Alii vero, qui fuerant cum eo, dicebant : Nequaquam ad hunc populum valemus ascendere, quia fortior nobis est.
ወግርምተ ፡ ረሰይዋ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ርእዩ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብሉ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ሖርነ ፡ ከመ ፡ ንርአያ ፡ ምድር ፡ ይእቲ ፡ እንተ ፡ ተዐቅቦሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘርኢነ ፡ ዕደው ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ እለ ፡ ፍድፉድ ፡ ኑኆሙ ።
They brought up an evil report of the land which they had spied out to the children of Israel, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that eats up its inhabitants; and all the people who we saw in it are men of great stature.
13:33
וְשָׁ֣ם רָאִ֗ינוּ אֶת־הַנְּפִילִ֛ים בְּנֵ֥י עֲנָ֖ק מִן־הַנְּפִלִ֑ים וַנְּהִ֤י בְעֵינֵ֙ינוּ֙ כַּֽחֲגָבִ֔ים וְכֵ֥ן הָיִ֖ינוּ בְּעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃
καὶ ἐκεῖ ἑωράκαμεν τοὺς γίγαντας καὶ ἦμεν ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν ὡσεὶ ἀκρίδες ἀλλὰ καὶ οὕτως ἦμεν ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν
Detraxeruntque terrae, quam inspexerant, apud filios Israël, dicentes : Terra, quam lustravimus, devorat habitatores suos : populus, quem aspeximus, procerae staturae est.
ወርኢነ ፡ በህየ ፡ እለ ፡ [ያርብ]ሕ ፡ ወኮነ ፡ ቅድሜሆሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ አናብጥ ፡ እለ ፡ ከማሁኒ ፡ ቅድሜሆሙ ።
There we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim. We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”
13:34——
Ibi vidimus monstra quaedam filiorum Enac de genere giganteo : quibus comparati, quasi locustae videbamur.
