35:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל ־מֹשֶׁ֖ה בְּעַֽרְבֹ֣ת מוֹאָ֑ב עַל ־יַרְדֵּ֥ן יְרֵח֖וֹ לֵאמֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἐπὶ δυσμῶν Μωαβ παρὰ τὸν Ιορδάνην κατὰ Ιεριχω λέγων
Haec quoque locutus est Dominus ad Moysen in campestribus Moab supra Jordanem , contra Jericho :
ወነበቦ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሙሴ ፡ በዐረበ ፡ ሞአብ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ዘመንገለ ፡ ኢየሪኮ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፤
Yahweh spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,
35:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ צַו֮ אֶת ־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ וְנָתְנ֣וּ לַלְוִיִּ֗ם מִֽנַּחֲלַ֛ת אֲחֻזָּתָ֖ם עָרִ֣ים לָשָׁ֑בֶת וּמִגְרָ֗שׁ לֶֽעָרִים֙ סְבִיבֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם תִּתְּנ֖וּ לַלְוִיִּֽם ׃
σύνταξον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ δώσουσιν τοῖς Λευίταις ἀπὸ τῶν κλήρων κατασχέσεως αὐτῶν πόλεις κατοικεῖν καὶ τὰ προάστεια τῶν πόλεων κύκλῳ αὐτῶν δώσουσιν τοῖς Λευίταις
Praecipe filiis Israël ut dent Levitis de possessionibus suis
አዝዞሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ከመ ፡ የሀብዎሙ ፡ ለሌዋውያን ፡ እምውስተ ፡ ዘይትዋረሱ ፡ መክፈልቶሙ ፡ አህጉረ ፡ ዘውስቴቶን ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ወአድያሚሆን ፡ ዘዐውዶን ፡ ለውእቶን ፡ አህጉር ፡ የሀብዎሙ ፡ ለሌዋውያን ።
“Command the children of Israel to give to the Levites cities to dwell in out of their inheritance. You shall give pasture lands for the cities around them to the Levites.
35:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָי֧וּ הֶֽעָרִ֛ים לָהֶ֖ם לָשָׁ֑בֶת וּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶ֗ם יִהְי֤וּ לִבְהֶמְתָּם֙ וְלִרְכֻשָׁ֔ם וּלְכֹ֖ל חַיָּתָֽם ׃
καὶ ἔσονται αὐτοῖς αἱ πόλεις κατοικεῖν καὶ τὰ ἀφορίσματα αὐτῶν ἔσται τοῖς κτήνεσιν αὐτῶν καὶ πᾶσι τοῖς τετράποσιν αὐτῶν
urbes ad habitandum , et suburbana earum per circuitum : ut ipsi in oppidis maneant , et suburbana sint pecoribus ac jumentis :
ወይኩኖሙ ፡ አህጉረ ፡ እለ ፡ ውስቴቶን ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ወአዕጻዳቲሆን ፡ ይኩኖሙ ፡ ለላህሞሙ ፡ ወለእንስሳሆሙ ።
They shall have the cities to dwell in. Their pasture lands shall be for their livestock, and for their possessions, and for all their animals.
35:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּמִגְרְשֵׁי֙ הֶֽעָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר תִּתְּנ֖וּ לַלְוִיִּ֑ם מִקִּ֤יר הָעִיר֙ וָח֔וּצָה אֶ֥לֶף אַמָּ֖ה סָבִֽיב ׃
καὶ τὰ συγκυροῦντα τῶν πόλεων ἃς δώσετε τοῖς Λευίταις ἀπὸ τείχους τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἔξω δισχιλίους πήχεις κύκλῳ
quae a muris civitatum forinsecus , per circuitum , mille passuum spatio tendentur .
ወደወሎን ፡ ለአህጉር ፡ እለ ፡ ትሁብዎሙ ፡ ለሌዋውያን ፡ እምነ ፡ ሀገሩ ፡ ትሜጥኑ ፡ በአፍአ ፡ እምዐውዱ ፤
“The pasture lands of the cities, which you shall give to the Levites, shall be from the wall of the city and outward one thousand cubits around it.
35:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּמַדֹּתֶ֞ם מִח֣וּץ לָעִ֗יר אֶת ־פְּאַת ־קֵ֣דְמָה אַלְפַּ֪יִם בָּֽאַמָּ֟ה וְאֶת ־פְּאַת ־נֶ֩גֶב֩ אַלְפַּ֨יִם בָּאַמָּ֜ה וְאֶת ־פְּאַת ־יָ֣ם ׀ אַלְפַּ֣יִם בָּֽאַמָּ֗ה וְאֵ֨ת פְּאַ֥ת צָפ֛וֹן אַלְפַּ֥יִם בָּאַמָּ֖ה וְהָעִ֣יר בַּתָּ֑וֶךְ זֶ֚ה יִהְיֶ֣ה לָהֶ֔ם מִגְרְשֵׁ֖י הֶעָרִֽים ׃
καὶ μετρήσεις ἔξω τῆς πόλεως τὸ κλίτος τὸ πρὸς ἀνατολὰς δισχιλίους πήχεις καὶ τὸ κλίτος τὸ πρὸς λίβα δισχιλίους πήχεις καὶ τὸ κλίτος τὸ πρὸς θάλασσαν δισχιλίους πήχεις καὶ τὸ κλίτος τὸ πρὸς βορρᾶν δισχιλίους πήχεις καὶ ἡ πόλις μέσον τούτου ἔσται ὑμῖν καὶ τὰ ὅμορα τῶν πόλεων
Contra orientem duo millia erunt cubiti , et contra meridiem similiter erunt duo millia : ad mare quoque , quod respicit ad occidentem , eadem mensura erit , et septentrionalis plaga aequali termino finietur , eruntque urbes in medio , et foris suburbana .
ዕሥራ ፡ ምእት ፡ በእመት ፡ እምዐረፍቱ ፡ ጽባሓዊ ፡ ለሀገር ፡ ወ፳፻በእመት ፡ እምገቦሁ ፡ ዘመንገለ ፡ አዜብ ፡ ወ፳፻ [በእመት ፡] እምገቦሁ ፡ ዘመንገለ ፡ ባሕር ፡ ወ፳፻በእመት ፡ እምገቦሁ ፡ ዘመንገለ ፡ መስዕ ፡ ወሀገሩ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ትኩንክሙ ፡ ወዘአምሳለ ፡ አህጉሮንሂ ።
You shall measure outside of the city for the east side two thousand cubits, and for the south side two thousand cubits, and for the west side two thousand cubits, and for the north side two thousand cubits, the city being in the middle. This shall be the pasture lands of their cities.
35:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאֵ֣ת הֶֽעָרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר תִּתְּנוּ֙ לַלְוִיִּ֔ם אֵ֚ת שֵׁשׁ ־עָרֵ֣י הַמִּקְלָ֔ט אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּתְּנ֔וּ לָנֻ֥ס שָׁ֖מָּה הָרֹצֵ֑חַ וַעֲלֵיהֶ֣ם תִּתְּנ֔וּ אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וּשְׁתַּ֖יִם עִֽיר ׃
καὶ τὰς πόλεις δώσετε τοῖς Λευίταις τὰς ἓξ πόλεις τῶν φυγαδευτηρίων ἃς δώσετε φεύγειν ἐκεῖ τῷ φονεύσαντι καὶ πρὸς ταύταις τεσσαράκοντα καὶ δύο πόλεις
De ipsis autem oppidis , quae Levitis dabitis , sex erunt in fugitivorum auxilia separata , ut fugiat ad ea qui fuderit sanguinem : et exceptis his , alia quadraginta duo oppida ,
ትሁብዎሙ ፡ ለሌዋውያን ፡ ስሱ ፡ አህጉረ ፡ ዘምስካይ ፡ ዘትፈልጡ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይኩኖ ፡ ምስካይ ፡ ህየ ፡ ለቀታሊ ፡ ወዘእንበለ ፡ እላንቱ ፡ ዘትሁብዎሙ ፡ ባዕደ ፡ አህጉረ ፡ አርብዓ ፡ ወክልኤ ።
“The cities which you shall give to the Levites, they shall be the six cities of refuge, which you shall give for the man slayer to flee to. Besides them you shall give forty-two cities.
35:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ כׇּל ־הֶעָרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר תִּתְּנוּ֙ לַלְוִיִּ֔ם אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וּשְׁמֹנֶ֖ה עִ֑יר אֶתְהֶ֖ן וְאֶת ־מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶֽן ׃
πάσας τὰς πόλεις δώσετε τοῖς Λευίταις τεσσαράκοντα καὶ ὀκτὼ πόλεις ταύτας καὶ τὰ προάστεια αὐτῶν
id est , simul quadraginta octo cum suburbanis suis .
ይከውን ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አህጉር ፡ ዘትሁብዎሙ ፡ ለሌዋውያን ፡ አርብዓ ፡ ወሰማኒ ፡ ወለእላንቱሂ ፡ አህጉር ፡ ምስለ ፡ አድያሚሆን ።
All the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities together with their pasture lands.
35:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהֶֽעָרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר תִּתְּנוּ֙ מֵאֲחֻזַּ֣ת בְּנֵי ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מֵאֵ֤ת הָרַב֙ תַּרְבּ֔וּ וּמֵאֵ֥ת הַמְעַ֖ט תַּמְעִ֑יטוּ אִ֗ישׁ כְּפִ֤י נַחֲלָתוֹ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִנְחָ֔לוּ יִתֵּ֥ן מֵעָרָ֖יו לַלְוִיִּֽם ׃ {פ}
καὶ τὰς πόλεις ἃς δώσετε ἀπὸ τῆς κατασχέσεως υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἀπὸ τῶν τὰ πολλὰ πολλὰ καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἐλαττόνων ἐλάττω ἕκαστος κατὰ τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ ἣν κληρονομήσουσιν δώσουσιν ἀπὸ τῶν πόλεων τοῖς Λευίταις
Ipsaeque urbes , quae dabuntur de possessionibus filiorum Israël , ab his qui plus habent , plures auferentur : et qui minus , pauciores : singuli juxta mensuram haereditatis suae dabunt oppida Levitis .
ወአህጉር ፡ ዘትሁብዎሙ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ መክፈልቶሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እምውስተ ፡ ዘብ [ዙ ] ኅ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ ወእምውስተ ፡ ዘውሑድ ፡ ውሑድ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ ርስቶሙ ፡ ዘተከፍሉ ፡ ዘዘ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ እምኔሆሙ ፡ የሀብዎሙ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ ርስቶሙ ፡ ለሌዋውያን ፡ አህጉረ ።
Concerning the cities which you shall give of the possession of the children of Israel, from the many you shall take many, and from the few you shall take few. Everyone according to his inheritance which he inherits shall give some of his cities to the Levites.”
35:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל ־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν λέγων
Ait Dominus ad Moysen :
ወነበቦ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሙሴ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፤
Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
35:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ דַּבֵּר֙ אֶל ־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאָמַרְתָּ֖ אֲלֵהֶ֑ם כִּ֥י אַתֶּ֛ם עֹבְרִ֥ים אֶת ־הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן אַ֥רְצָה כְּנָֽעַן ׃
λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς ὑμεῖς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ιορδάνην εἰς γῆν Χανααν
Loquere filiis Israël , et dices ad eos : Quando transgressi fueritis Jordanem in terram Chanaan ,
ንግሮሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወበሎሙ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ተዐድው ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ከናአን ።
“Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
35:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהִקְרִיתֶ֤ם לָכֶם֙ עָרִ֔ים עָרֵ֥י מִקְלָ֖ט תִּהְיֶ֣ינָה לָכֶ֑ם וְנָ֥ס שָׁ֙מָּה֙ רֹצֵ֔חַ מַכֵּה ־נֶ֖פֶשׁ בִּשְׁגָגָֽה ׃
καὶ διαστελεῖτε ὑμῖν αὐτοῖς πόλεις φυγαδευτήρια ἔσται ὑμῖν φυγεῖν ἐκεῖ τὸν φονευτήν πᾶς ὁ πατάξας ψυχὴν ἀκουσίως
decernite quae urbes esse debeant in praesidia fugitivorum , qui nolentes sanguinem fuderint :
ወፍልጡ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ አህጉረ ፡ ምስካይ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይኩንክሙ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ይሰኪ ፡ ህየ ፡ ቀታሊ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘቀተለ ፡ ነፍሰ ፡ በኢያእምሮ ።
then you shall appoint for yourselves cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the man slayer who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.
35:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָי֨וּ לָכֶ֧ם הֶעָרִ֛ים לְמִקְלָ֖ט מִגֹּאֵ֑ל וְלֹ֤א יָמוּת֙ הָרֹצֵ֔חַ עַד ־עׇמְד֛וֹ לִפְנֵ֥י הָעֵדָ֖ה לַמִּשְׁפָּֽט ׃
καὶ ἔσονται αἱ πόλεις ὑμῖν φυγαδευτήρια ἀπὸ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἷμα καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνῃ ὁ φονεύων ἕως ἂν στῇ ἔναντι τῆς συναγωγῆς εἰς κρίσιν
in quibus cum fuerit profugus , cognatus occisi non poterit eum occidere , donec stet in conspectu multitudinis , et causa illius judicetur .
ወይኩናክሙ ፡ ውእቶን ፡ አህጉር ፡ ምስካየ ፡ እምነ ፡ አበ ፡ ደም ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይሙት ፡ ቀታሊ ፡ እስከ ፡ ይቀውም ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ትዕይንት ፡ ወይት ሐተት ።
The cities shall be for your refuge from the avenger, that the man slayer not die until he stands before the congregation for judgment.
35:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהֶעָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּתֵּ֑נוּ שֵׁשׁ ־עָרֵ֥י מִקְלָ֖ט תִּהְיֶ֥ינָה לָכֶֽם ׃
καὶ αἱ πόλεις ἃς δώσετε τὰς ἓξ πόλεις φυγαδευτήρια ἔσονται ὑμῖν
De ipsis autem urbibus , quae ad fugitivorum subsidia separantur ,
ወውእቶን ፡ አህጉር ፡ እለ ፡ ትሁቡ ፡ ስሱ ፡ አህጉረ ፡ ምስካይ ፡ ይኩናክሙ ።
The cities which you shall give shall be for you six cities of refuge.
35:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֵ֣ת ׀ שְׁלֹ֣שׁ הֶעָרִ֗ים תִּתְּנוּ֙ מֵעֵ֣בֶר לַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן וְאֵת֙ שְׁלֹ֣שׁ הֶֽעָרִ֔ים תִּתְּנ֖וּ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ כְּנָ֑עַן עָרֵ֥י מִקְלָ֖ט תִּהְיֶֽינָה ׃
τὰς τρεῖς πόλεις δώσετε ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ τὰς τρεῖς πόλεις δώσετε ἐν γῇ Χανααν
tres erunt trans Jordanem , et tres in terra Chanaan ,
ሠላሰ ፡ አህጉር ፡ ትፈልጡ ፡ በማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ወሠላሰ ፡ አህጉር ፡ ትፈልጡ ፡ በምድረ ፡ ከናአን ።
You shall give three cities beyond the Jordan, and you shall give three cities in the land of Canaan. They shall be cities of refuge.
35:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וְלַגֵּ֤ר וְלַתּוֹשָׁב֙ בְּתוֹכָ֔ם תִּהְיֶ֛ינָה שֵׁשׁ ־הֶעָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה לְמִקְלָ֑ט לָנ֣וּס שָׁ֔מָּה כׇּל ־מַכֵּה ־נֶ֖פֶשׁ בִּשְׁגָגָֽה ׃
φυγάδιον ἔσται τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ καὶ τῷ προσηλύτῳ καὶ τῷ παροίκῳ τῷ ἐν ὑμῖν ἔσονται αἱ πόλεις αὗται εἰς φυγαδευτήριον φυγεῖν ἐκεῖ παντὶ πατάξαντι ψυχὴν ἀκουσίως
tam filiis Israël quam advenis atque peregrinis , ut confugiat ad eas qui nolens sanguinem fuderit .
ምስካይ ፡ ይኩኖሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ለግዩርኒ ፡ ወለፈላሲኒ ፡ ዘሀለወ ፡ ኀቤክሙ ፤
These six cities shall be refuge for the children of Israel, for the stranger, and for the foreigner living among them, that everyone who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.
35:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאִם ־בִּכְלִ֨י בַרְזֶ֧ל ׀הִכָּ֛הוּ וַיָּמֹ֖ת רֹצֵ֣חַֽ ה֑וּא מ֥וֹת יוּמַ֖ת הָרֹצֵֽחַ ׃
ἐὰν δὲ ἐν σκεύει σιδήρου πατάξῃ αὐτόν καὶ τελευτήσῃ φονευτής ἐστιν θανάτῳ θανατούσθω ὁ φονευτής
Si quis ferro percusserit , et mortuus fuerit qui percussus est , reus erit homicidii , et ipse morietur .
ይኩኖሙ ፡ ምስካየ ፡ እላንቱ ፡ አህጉር ፡ ከመ ፡ ይስኪ ፡ ህየ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘቀተለ ፡ መንፈሰ ፡ በኢያእምሮ ።
“‘But if he struck him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death.
35:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאִ֡ם בְּאֶ֣בֶן יָד֩ אֲשֶׁר ־יָמ֨וּת בָּ֥הּ הִכָּ֛הוּ וַיָּמֹ֖ת רֹצֵ֣חַֽ ה֑וּא מ֥וֹת יוּמַ֖ת הָרֹצֵֽחַ ׃
ἐὰν δὲ ἐν λίθῳ ἐκ χειρός ἐν ᾧ ἀποθανεῖται ἐν αὐτῷ πατάξῃ αὐτόν καὶ ἀποθάνῃ φονευτής ἐστιν θανάτῳ θανατούσθω ὁ φονευτής
Si lapidem jecerit , et ictus occubuerit , similiter punietur .
ወእመሰ ፡ በንዋየ ፡ ሐፂን ፡ ዘበጦ ፡ ወሞተ ፡ ቀታሊ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ለይሙት ፡ ዘቀተለ ።
If he struck him with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death.
35:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ א֡וֹ בִּכְלִ֣י עֵֽץ ־יָד֩ אֲשֶׁר ־יָמ֨וּת בּ֥וֹ הִכָּ֛הוּ וַיָּמֹ֖ת רֹצֵ֣חַֽ ה֑וּא מ֥וֹת יוּמַ֖ת הָרֹצֵֽחַ ׃
ἐὰν δὲ ἐν σκεύει ξυλίνῳ ἐκ χειρός ἐξ οὗ ἀποθανεῖται ἐν αὐτῷ πατάξῃ αὐτόν καὶ ἀποθάνῃ φονευτής ἐστιν θανάτῳ θανατούσθω ὁ φονευτής
Si ligno percussus interierit , percussoris sanguine vindicabitur .
ወለእመኒ ፡ በእብን ፡ ወገሮ ፡ አው ፡ አውደቀ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ እዴሁ ፡ ወሞተ ፡ ቀታሊ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ለይሙት ፡ ዘቀተለ ።
Or if he struck him with a weapon of wood in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death.
35:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ גֹּאֵ֣ל הַדָּ֔ם ה֥וּא יָמִ֖ית אֶת ־הָרֹצֵ֑חַ בְּפִגְעוֹ ־ב֖וֹ ה֥וּא יְמִתֶֽנּוּ ׃
ὁ ἀγχιστεύων τὸ αἷμα οὗτος ἀποκτενεῖ τὸν φονεύσαντα ὅταν συναντήσῃ αὐτῷ οὗτος ἀποκτενεῖ αὐτόν
Propinquus occisi , homicidam interficiet : statim ut apprehenderit eum , interficiet .
ወለእመኒ ፡ በንዋየ ፡ ዕፅ ፡ ዘበጦ ፡ ወሞተ ፡ አው ፡ አውደቀ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ እዴሁ ፡ ወሞተ ፡ ቀታሊ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ለይሙት ፡ ዘቀተለ ።
The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death. When he meets him, he shall put him to death.
35:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאִם ־בְּשִׂנְאָ֖ה יֶהְדֳּפֶ֑נּוּ אֽוֹ ־הִשְׁלִ֥יךְ עָלָ֛יו בִּצְדִיָּ֖ה וַיָּמֹֽת ׃
ἐὰν δὲ δῑ ἔχθραν ὤσῃ αὐτὸν καὶ ἐπιρρίψῃ ἐπ’ αὐτὸν πᾶν σκεῦος ἐξ ἐνέδρου καὶ ἀποθάνῃ
Si per odium quis hominem impulerit , vel jecerit quippiam in eum per insidias :
ወአበ ፡ ደም ፡ ለሊሁ ፡ ይቅትሎ ።
If he shoved him out of hatred, or hurled something at him while lying in wait, so that he died,
35:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ א֣וֹ בְאֵיבָ֞ה הִכָּ֤הוּ בְיָדוֹ֙ וַיָּמֹ֔ת מֽוֹת ־יוּמַ֥ת הַמַּכֶּ֖ה רֹצֵ֣חַֽ ה֑וּא גֹּאֵ֣ל הַדָּ֗ם יָמִ֛ית אֶת ־הָרֹצֵ֖חַ בְּפִגְעוֹ ־בֽוֹ ׃
ἢ διὰ μῆνιν ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν τῇ χειρί καὶ ἀποθάνῃ θανάτῳ θανατούσθω ὁ πατάξας φονευτής ἐστιν θανάτῳ θανατούσθω ὁ φονεύων ὁ ἀγχιστεύων τὸ αἷμα ἀποκτενεῖ τὸν φονεύσαντα ἐν τῷ συναντῆσαι αὐτῷ
aut cum esset inimicus , manu percusserit , et ille mortuus fuerit : percussor homicidii reus erit : cognatus occisi statim ut invenerit eum , jugulabit .
ወእመኒ ፡ ጸልኦ ፡ ይጸልኦ ፡ ወአውደቀ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ ዘኮነ ፡ ንዋየ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይፀንሖ ፡ ወሞተ ፤
or in hostility struck him with his hand, so that he died, he who struck him shall surely be put to death. He is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.
35:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאִם ־בְּפֶ֥תַע בְּלֹא ־אֵיבָ֖ה הֲדָפ֑וֹ אוֹ ־הִשְׁלִ֥יךְ עָלָ֛יו כׇּל ־כְּלִ֖י בְּלֹ֥א צְדִיָּֽה ׃
ἐὰν δὲ ἐξάπινα οὐ δῑ ἔχθραν ὤσῃ αὐτὸν ἢ ἐπιρρίψῃ ἐπ’ αὐτὸν πᾶν σκεῦος οὐκ ἐξ ἐνέδρου
Quod si fortuitu , et absque odio
ቀታሊ ፡ [ውእቱ ፡] ይቅትልዎ ፡ ለዘባጢ ፡ እስመ ፡ ቀታሊ ፡ ውእቱ ፤ ሞተ ፡ ለይሙት ፡ ዘቀተለ ፡ ወአበ ፡ ደም ፡ ለይቅትሎ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ረከቦ ።
“‘But if he shoved him suddenly without hostility, or hurled on him anything without lying in wait,
35:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ א֣וֹ בְכׇל ־אֶ֜בֶן אֲשֶׁר ־יָמ֥וּת בָּהּ֙ בְּלֹ֣א רְא֔וֹת וַיַּפֵּ֥ל עָלָ֖יו וַיָּמֹ֑ת וְהוּא֙ לֹא ־אוֹיֵ֣ב ל֔וֹ וְלֹ֥א מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ רָעָתֽוֹ ׃
ἢ παντὶ λίθῳ ἐν ᾧ ἀποθανεῖται ἐν αὐτῷ οὐκ εἰδώς καὶ ἐπιπέσῃ ἐπ’ αὐτόν καὶ ἀποθάνῃ αὐτὸς δὲ οὐκ ἐχθρὸς αὐτοῦ ἦν οὐδὲ ζητῶν κακοποιῆσαι αὐτόν
et inimicitiis quidquam horum fecerit ,
ወእመሰ ፡ ግብት ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ኢይጸልእ ፡ ወአውደቀ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ ዘኮነ ፡ ንዋየ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ኢይጸንሖ ፤
or with any stone, by which a man may die, not seeing him, and cast it on him so that he died, and he was not his enemy and not seeking his harm,
35:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשָֽׁפְטוּ֙ הָֽעֵדָ֔ה בֵּ֚ין הַמַּכֶּ֔ה וּבֵ֖ין גֹּאֵ֣ל הַדָּ֑ם עַ֥ל הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה ׃
καὶ κρινεῖ ἡ συναγωγὴ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ πατάξαντος καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἷμα κατὰ τὰ κρίματα ταῦτα
et hoc audiente populo fuerit comprobatum , atque inter percussorem et propinquum sanguinis quaestio ventilata :
አው ፡ በዘ ፡ ኮነ ፡ እብን ፡ ወሞተ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ ወቀተሎ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ኢያአምር ፡ ወኢኮነ ፡ ጸላኢሁ ፡ ወኢይፈቅድ ፡ ያሕስም ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፤
then the congregation shall judge between the striker and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances.
35:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהִצִּ֨ילוּ הָעֵדָ֜ה אֶת ־הָרֹצֵ֗חַ מִיַּד֮ גֹּאֵ֣ל הַדָּם֒ וְהֵשִׁ֤יבוּ אֹתוֹ֙ הָֽעֵדָ֔ה אֶל ־עִ֥יר מִקְלָט֖וֹ אֲשֶׁר ־נָ֣ס שָׁ֑מָּה וְיָ֣שַׁב בָּ֗הּ עַד ־מוֹת֙ הַכֹּהֵ֣ן הַגָּדֹ֔ל אֲשֶׁר ־מָשַׁ֥ח אֹת֖וֹ בְּשֶׁ֥מֶן הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ ׃
καὶ ἐξελεῖται ἡ συναγωγὴ τὸν φονεύσαντα ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀγχιστεύοντος τὸ αἷμα καὶ ἀποκαταστήσουσιν αὐτὸν ἡ συναγωγὴ εἰς τὴν πόλιν τοῦ φυγαδευτηρίου αὐτοῦ οὗ κατέφυγεν καὶ κατοικήσει ἐκεῖ ἕως ἂν ἀποθάνῃ ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας ὃν ἔχρισαν αὐτὸν τῷ ἐλαίῳ τῷ ἁγίῳ
liberabitur innocens de ultoris manu , et reducetur per sententiam in urbem , ad quam confugerat , manebitque ibi , donec sacerdos magnus , qui oleo sancto unctus est , moriatur .
ወይሕትቱ ፡ ትዕይንት ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ቀታሊ ፡ ወማእከለ ፡ አበ ፡ ደም ፡ በከመ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ፍትሕ ።
The congregation shall deliver the man slayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, where he had fled. He shall dwell therein until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.
35:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאִם ־יָצֹ֥א יֵצֵ֖א הָרֹצֵ֑חַ אֶת ־גְּבוּל֙ עִ֣יר מִקְלָט֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יָנ֖וּס שָֽׁמָּה ׃
ἐὰν δὲ ἐξόδῳ ἐξέλθῃ ὁ φονεύσας τὰ ὅρια τῆς πόλεως εἰς ἣν κατέφυγεν ἐκεῖ
Si interfector extra fines urbium , quae exulibus deputatae sunt ,
ወያድኅንዎ ፡ ትዕይንት ፡ ለዘ ፡ ቀተለ ፡ እምነ ፡ አበ ፡ ደም ፡ ወይወስድዎ ፡ ትዕይንት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ህገረ ፡ ምስካይ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ይሰኪ ፡ ወይነብር ፡ ህየ ፡ እስከ ፡ ይመውት ፡ ካህን ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ዘቀብእዎ ፡ በቅብአ ፡ ቅድሳት ።
“‘But if the man slayer shall at any time go beyond the border of his city of refuge where he flees,
35:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּמָצָ֤א אֹתוֹ֙ גֹּאֵ֣ל הַדָּ֔ם מִח֕וּץ לִגְב֖וּל עִ֣יר מִקְלָט֑וֹ וְרָצַ֞ח גֹּאֵ֤ל הַדָּם֙ אֶת ־הָ֣רֹצֵ֔חַ אֵ֥ין ל֖וֹ דָּֽם ׃
καὶ εὕρῃ αὐτὸν ὁ ἀγχιστεύων τὸ αἷμα ἔξω τῶν ὁρίων τῆς πόλεως καταφυγῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ φονεύσῃ ὁ ἀγχιστεύων τὸ αἷμα τὸν φονεύσαντα οὐκ ἔνοχός ἐστιν
fuerit inventus , et percussus ab eo qui ultor est sanguinis : absque noxa erit qui eum occiderit .
ወለእመሰ ፡ ወፅአ ፡ አፍአ ፡ ቀታሊ ፡ ውእተ ፡ አድዋለ ፡ ሀገር ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ ሰከየ ፡ ህየ ፤
and the avenger of blood finds him outside of the border of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the man slayer, he shall not be guilty of blood,
35:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י בְעִ֤יר מִקְלָטוֹ֙ יֵשֵׁ֔ב עַד ־מ֖וֹת הַכֹּהֵ֣ן הַגָּדֹ֑ל וְאַחֲרֵ֥י מוֹת֙ הַכֹּהֵ֣ן הַגָּדֹ֔ל יָשׁוּב֙ הָרֹצֵ֔חַ אֶל ־אֶ֖רֶץ אֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ ׃
ἐν γὰρ τῇ πόλει τῆς καταφυγῆς κατοικείτω ἕως ἂν ἀποθάνῃ ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας καὶ μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανεῖν τὸν ἱερέα τὸν μέγαν ἐπαναστραφήσεται ὁ φονεύσας εἰς τὴν γῆν τῆς κατασχέσεως αὐτοῦ
Debuerat enim profugus usque ad mortem pontificis in urbe residere . Postquam autem ille obierit , homicida revertetur in terram suam .
ወረከቦ ፡ አበ ፡ ደም ፡ በአፍአ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አድዋለ ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ምስካዩ ፡ ወቀተሎ ፡ አበ ፡ ደም ፡ ለቀታሊ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ጌጋየ ።
because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. But after the death of the high priest, the man slayer shall return into the land of his possession.
35:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָי֨וּ אֵ֧לֶּה לָכֶ֛ם לְחֻקַּ֥ת מִשְׁפָּ֖ט לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶ֑ם בְּכֹ֖ל מוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶֽם ׃
καὶ ἔσται ταῦτα ὑμῖν εἰς δικαίωμα κρίματος εἰς τὰς γενεὰς ὑμῶν ἐν πάσαις ταῖς κατοικίαις ὑμῶν
Haec sempiterna erunt , et legitima in cunctis habitationibus vestris .
እስመ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ምስካዩ ፡ ይነብር ፡ አስከ ፡ ይመውት ፡ ካህን ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ወእምድኅረ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ካህን ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ይገብእ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ብሔሩ ፡ ወከመዝ ፡ ይኩንክሙ ፡ ፍትሐ ፡ ኵነኔ ፡ በመዋዕሊክሙ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ በሓውርቲክሙ ።
“‘These things shall be for a statute and ordinance to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
35:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ כׇּ֨ל ־מַכֵּה ־נֶ֔פֶשׁ לְפִ֣י עֵדִ֔ים יִרְצַ֖ח אֶת ־הָרֹצֵ֑חַ וְעֵ֣ד אֶחָ֔ד לֹא ־יַעֲנֶ֥ה בְנֶ֖פֶשׁ לָמֽוּת ׃
πᾶς πατάξας ψυχήν διὰ μαρτύρων φονεύσεις τὸν φονεύσαντα καὶ μάρτυς εἷς οὐ μαρτυρήσει ἐπὶ ψυχὴν ἀποθανεῖν
Homicida sub testibus punietur : ad unius testimonium nullus condemnabitur .
ኵሉ ፡ ዘቀተለ ፡ መንፈሰ ፡ ወዘለፎ ፡ ማኅተት ፡ ቅትልዎ ፡ ለቀታሊ ፡ ወስምዕ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ ኢይከውን ፡ ማሕተተ ፡ ለአቅትሎ ፡ መንፈስ ።
“‘Whoever kills any person, the murderer shall be slain based on the testimony of witnesses; but one witness shall not testify alone against any person so that he dies.
35:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹֽא ־תִקְח֥וּ כֹ֙פֶר֙ לְנֶ֣פֶשׁ רֹצֵ֔חַ אֲשֶׁר ־ה֥וּא רָשָׁ֖ע לָמ֑וּת כִּי ־מ֖וֹת יוּמָֽת ׃
καὶ οὐ λήμψεσθε λύτρα περὶ ψυχῆς παρὰ τοῦ φονεύσαντος τοῦ ἐνόχου ὄντος ἀναιρεθῆναι θανάτῳ γὰρ θανατωθήσεται
Non accipietis pretium ab eo qui reus est sanguinis , statim et ipse morietur .
ወኢትንሥኡ ፡ ቤዛ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ነፍስ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ቀታሊ ፡ ዘጌጋዩ ፡ ለመዊት ፡ ሞተ ፡ ለይሙት ።
“‘Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer who is guilty of death. He shall surely be put to death.
35:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹא ־תִקְח֣וּ כֹ֔פֶר לָנ֖וּס אֶל ־עִ֣יר מִקְלָט֑וֹ לָשׁוּב֙ לָשֶׁ֣בֶת בָּאָ֔רֶץ עַד ־מ֖וֹת הַכֹּהֵֽן ׃
οὐ λήμψεσθε λύτρα τοῦ φυγεῖν εἰς πόλιν τῶν φυγαδευτηρίων τοῦ πάλιν κατοικεῖν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἕως ἂν ἀποθάνῃ ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας
Exules et profugi ante mortem pontificis nullo modo in urbes suas reverti poterunt ,
ወኢትንሥኡ ፡ ቤዛ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታጕይይዎ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ምስካይ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይንበር ፡ ካዕበ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ እስከ ፡ ይመውት ፡ ካህን ፡ ዐቢይ ።
“‘You shall take no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he may come again to dwell in the land before the death of the priest.
35:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹֽא ־תַחֲנִ֣יפוּ אֶת ־הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֤ר אַתֶּם֙ בָּ֔הּ כִּ֣י הַדָּ֔ם ה֥וּא יַחֲנִ֖יף אֶת ־הָאָ֑רֶץ וְלָאָ֣רֶץ לֹֽא ־יְכֻפַּ֗ר לַדָּם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שֻׁפַּךְ ־בָּ֔הּ כִּי ־אִ֖ם בְּדַ֥ם שֹׁפְכֽוֹ ׃
καὶ οὐ μὴ φονοκτονήσητε τὴν γῆν εἰς ἣν ὑμεῖς κατοικεῖτε τὸ γὰρ αἷμα τοῦτο φονοκτονεῖ τὴν γῆν καὶ οὐκ ἐξιλασθήσεται ἡ γῆ ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος τοῦ ἐκχυθέντος ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἀλλ’ ἐπὶ τοῦ αἵματος τοῦ ἐκχέοντος
ne polluatis terram habitationis vestrae , quae insontium cruore maculatur : nec aliter expiari potest , nisi per ejus sanguinem , qui alterius sanguinem fuderit .
ወኢትግበርዋ ፡ ቀታሊተ ፡ ለምድርክሙ ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ ትነብሩ ፡ እስመ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ደም ፡ ዘይሬስያ ፡ ቀታሊተ ፡ ለምድር ፡ ወኢትሰሪ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ምድር ፡ ለዘ ፡ ከዐወ ፡ ደመ ፡ ላዕሌሃ ።
“‘So you shall not pollute the land where you live; for blood pollutes the land. No atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him who shed it.
35:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹ֧א תְטַמֵּ֣א אֶת ־הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֤ר אַתֶּם֙ יֹשְׁבִ֣ים בָּ֔הּ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲנִ֖י שֹׁכֵ֣ן בְּתוֹכָ֑הּ כִּ֚י אֲנִ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה שֹׁכֵ֕ן בְּת֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃ {פ}
καὶ οὐ μιανεῖτε τὴν γῆν ἐφ’ ἧς κατοικεῖτε ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἐφ’ ἧς ἐγὼ κατασκηνώσω ἐν ὑμῖν ἐγὼ γάρ εἰμι κύριος κατασκηνῶν ἐν μέσῳ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ
Atque ita emundabitur vestra possessio me commorante vobiscum . Ego enim sum Dominus qui habito inter filios Israël .
ወኢትገምንዋ ፡ ለምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ ትነብሩ ፡ ወእንተ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ አነ ፡ አኀድር ፡ ምስሌክሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ አነ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘየኀድር ፡ ማእከሎሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ።
You shall not defile the land which you inhabit, where I dwell; for I, Yahweh, dwell among the children of Israel.’”
