2:1
አኀዊነ ኢትኩን ለገጸ ሰብእ ሃይማኖትክሙ እንተ በእግዚአነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ዘሎቱ ስብሐት።
My brothers, don’t hold the faith of our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with partiality.
我的弟兄們，你們信奉我們榮耀的主耶穌基督，便不可按着外貌待人。
2:2
ከመ እመ ቦአ ውስተ ማኅበርክሙ ብእሲ ዘሕልቀተ ወርቅ ወዘአልባስ ንጹሕ ወቦአ ነዳይ በአልባስ ርሱሕ።
For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, comes into your synagogue, and a poor man in filthy clothing also comes in,
若有一個人帶着金戒指，穿着華美衣服，進你們的會堂去；又有一個窮人穿着骯髒衣服也進去；
2:3
ወትኔጽርዎ ለዘይለብስ ንጹሐ ወትብልዎ አንተሰ ንበር ዝየ ውስተ ምሥናይ ወለነዳይሰ ትብልዎ ቁም ከሃከ አንተሰ ወእመ አኮ ንበር ታሕተ መከየደ እገሪነ።
and you pay special attention to him who wears the fine clothing and say, “Sit here in a good place;” and you tell the poor man, “Stand there,” or “Sit by my footstool”
你們就重看那穿華美衣服的人，說：「請坐在這好位上」；又對那窮人說：「你站在那裏」，或「坐在我腳凳下邊。」
2:4
አኮኑ እንከ አድሎክሙ ለሊክሙ ወኮንክሙ መደልዋነ ለኅሊና እኩይ።
haven’t you shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
這豈不是你們偏心待人，用惡意斷定人嗎？
2:5
ስምዑ አኀዊነ ፍቁራን አኮኑ እግዚአብሔር ኀረዮሙ ለነዳያነዝ ዓለም ወአብዕልትሰ ከመ በሃይማኖቶሙ ይወርስዋ ለመንግሥት እንተ አሰፈዎሙ ለእለ ያፈቅርዎ።
Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn’t God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?
我親愛的弟兄們，請聽，上帝豈不是揀選了世上的貧窮人，叫他們在信上富足，並承受他所應許給那些愛他之人的國嗎？
2:6
ወአንትሙሰ አስተሐቀርክምዎሙ ለነዳያን አኮኑ እሙንቱ አብዕልት እለ ይትዔገሉክሙ ወይስሕቡክሙ ውስተ ተስናናት ወአዕዋዳት።
But you have dishonored the poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you and personally drag you before the courts?
你們反倒羞辱貧窮人。那富足人豈不是欺壓你們、拉你們到公堂去嗎？
2:7
ወእሙንቱ ይጸርፉ ላዕለ ስሙ ዐቢይ ዘተሰምየ ላዕሌክሙ።
Don’t they blaspheme the honorable name by which you are called?
他們不是褻瀆你們所敬奉 的尊名嗎？
2:8
ወእመሰ ትፌጽሙ ሕገ በከመ ይብል መጽሐፍ «አፍቅር ቢጸከ ከመ ነፍስከ» ሠናየ ትገብሩ።
However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well.
經上記着說：「要愛人如己。」你們若全守這至尊的律法才是好的。
2:9
ወእመሰ ገጸ ትነሥኡ ኀጢአተ ትገብሩ ወይዛለፈክሙ ሕግ ከመ ከሓዲ።
But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.
但你們若按外貌待人，便是犯罪，被律法定為犯法的。
2:10
ወዘሰ ይገብሮ ለኵሉ ሕግ ወይስሕት በአሐቲ ኮነ መአብሰ በኵሉ።
For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
因為凡遵守全律法的，只在一條上跌倒，他就是犯了眾條。
2:11
እስመ ዘይቤ «ኢትሑር ኀበ ብእሲተ ብእሲ ይቤ ኢትቅትል ነፍሰ» ወእመሰ ኢተሐውር ኀበ ብእሲተ ብእሲ ወባሕቱ ትቀትል ነፍሰ ኮንከ ውፁአ እምሕግ።
For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not commit murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
原來那說「不可姦淫」的，也說「不可殺人」；你就是不姦淫，卻殺人，仍是成了犯律法的。
2:12
ከመዝ ንግሩ ወከመዝ ግበሩ ከመ ዘበሕገ ግዕዛን ሀለወክሙ ትትኰነኑ።
So speak and so do as men who are to be judged by the law of freedom.
你們既然要按使人自由的律法受審判，就該照這律法說話行事。
2:13
እስመ በደይንሰ አልቦ ምሒር ለዘኢገብረ ምሕረተ ወይትሜካሕ ባሕቱ በዕለተ ደይን ዘገብረ ምሕረተ።
For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
因為那不憐憫人的，也要受無憐憫的審判；憐憫原是向審判誇勝。
2:14
ምንት ይበቍዕ አኀዊነ ለእመ ቦ ዘይብል ሃይማኖት ብየ ወምግባረ ሠናይ አልብየ ቦኑ ትክል ሃይማኖቱ አድኅኖቶ።
What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can faith save him?
我的弟兄們，若有人說自己有信心，卻沒有行為，有甚麼益處呢？這信心能救他嗎？
2:15
ለእመ ቦ እምአኀዊነ አው እምአኃቲነ እለ ዕሩቃን እሙንቱ አው ኅጡኣን ለሲሳየ ዕለቶሙ።
And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food,
若是弟兄或是姊妹，赤身露體，又缺了日用的飲食；
2:16
ወቦ ዘይቤሎሙ እምኔክሙ ሑሩ በሰላም ሰሐኑ፥ ወትጸግቡ ወኢወሀቦሙ ዘይፈቅዱ ለተጽናሶሙ ምንተ ይበቍዖሙ።
and one of you tells them, “Go in peace. Be warmed and filled;” yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it?
你們中間有人對他們說：「平平安安地去吧！願你們穿得暖，吃得飽」，卻不給他們身體所需用的，這有甚麼益處呢？
2:17
ከማሁ ሃይማኖትኒ እንተ አልባቲ ምግባረ ሠናይ ምውት ይእቲ ለሊሃ።
Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.
這樣，信心若沒有行為就是死的。
2:18
እመቦ ዘይቤለከ አንተ ሃይማኖት ብከ ወአነ ምግባረ ሠናይ ብየ አርእየኒኬ ሃይማኖተከ ዘእንበለ ምግባሪከ ወአንሰ አርእየከ እምነ ምግባርየ ሃይማኖትየ።
Yes, a man will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
必有人說：「你有信心，我有行為；你將你沒有行為的信心指給我看，我便藉着我的行為，將我的信心指給你看。」
2:19
አንተሰ ተአምን ከመ አሐዱ ውእቱ እግዚአብሔር ሠናየ ትገብር ከማሁሰ አጋንንትኒ የአምኑ ወይደነግፁ።
You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe—and shudder.
你信上帝只有一位，你信的不錯；鬼魔也信，卻是戰驚。
2:20
ትፈቅድኑ ታእምር ኦ! ብእሲ አብድ ከመ ሃይማኖት ዘእንበለ ምግባር ምውት ይእቲ።
But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead?
虛浮的人哪，你願意知道沒有行為的信心是死的嗎？
2:21
አኮኑ አብርሃም አቡነ በምግባሩ ጸድቀ ሶበ አዕረጎ ለይስሐቅ ወልዱ ውስተ ምሥዋዕ።
Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?
我們的祖宗亞伯拉罕把他兒子以撒獻在壇上，豈不是因行為稱義嗎？
2:22
ትሬኢኑ ከመ ሃይማኖት ትረድኦ ለገቢር ወበምግባሩ መልአት ወፍጽምተ ኮነት ሃይማኖቱ።
You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected.
可見，信心是與他的行為並行，而且信心因着行為才得成全。
2:23
ወተፈጸመ ዘይብል መጽሐፍ «አምነ አብርሃም በእግዚአብሔር ወተኈለቆ ጽድቀ ወፍቁረ እግዚአብሔር ተሰምየ።»
So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.
這就應驗經上所說：「亞伯拉罕信上帝，這就算為他的義。」他又得稱為上帝的朋友。
2:24
ትሬኢኑ ከመ በምግባሩ ይጸድቅ ሰብእ ወአኮ በሃይማኖቱ ባሕቲታ።
You see then that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith.
這樣看來，人稱義是因着行為，不是單因着信。
2:25
ወከማሁ ረአብኒ ዘማ በምግባሪሃ ጸድቀት ሶበ ተቀበለቶሙ ለሰብአ ዐይን ወእንተ ካልእት ፍኖት አውፅአቶሙ።
In the same way, wasn’t Rahab the prostitute also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
妓女喇合接待使者，又放他們從別的路上出去，不也是一樣因行為稱義嗎？
2:26
በከመ ሥጋ ዘአልቦ መንፈስ ምዉት ውእቱ ከማሁ ሃይማኖትኒ እንተ አልባቲ ምግባረ ሠናይ ምውት ይእቲ።
For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.
身體沒有靈魂是死的，信心沒有行為也是死的。
