Verbum supernum prodiens, Nec Patris linquens dexteram, Ad opus suum exiens, Venit advitae vesperam. In mortem a discipulo Suis tradendus aemulis, Prius in vitae ferculo Se tradidit discipulis. Quibus sub bina specie Carnem dedit et sanguinem: Ut duplicis substantiae Totum cibaret hominem. Se nascens dedit socium, Convescens in edulium, Se moriens in pretium, Se regnans dat in praemium. O Salutaris Hostia, Quae caeli pandis ostium: Bella premunt hostilia, Da robur, fer auxilium. Uni trinoque Domino Sit sempiterna gloria, Qui vitam sine termino Nobis donet in patria. Amen.
The Word, coming forth from on high, yet not leaving the Father's right hand, going out to His own work, came to the evening of life. About to be handed over to His enemies by a disciple unto death, He first gave Himself to His disciples in the food of life. To them, under a twofold appearance, He gave His flesh and His blood, that He might feed the whole man of twofold substance. Being born, He gave Himself as a companion; feasting together, He gave Himself as nourishment; dying, He gave Himself as a ransom; reigning, He gives Himself as a reward. O saving Victim, who openest the gate of heaven: hostile wars press hard; give strength, bring aid. To the Lord, one and three, be everlasting glory, who grants us life without end in our homeland. Amen.
那從至高發出的道，卻不離開父的右邊，出來成就祂的工作，來到生命的黃昏。祂將要被一個門徒交在仇敵手中以至於死，卻先在生命的食物中把自己交給門徒。在雙重的形象之下，祂把自己的肉與血賜給他們，好叫祂餵養那雙重質素的整全之人。祂降生時，把自己賜為同伴；同席時，把自己賜為養分；受死時，把自己賜為贖價；作王時，把自己賜為賞賜。哦那拯救的祭物，是你開了天門：仇敵的爭戰緊緊相逼；求你賜下力量，施予幫助。願永遠的榮耀歸與那獨一而三一的主，願祂在我們的家鄉賜給我們無窮的生命。阿們。
