UERSUS PAULINI DE ORANTIBUS. Quisque solo adclinis mersisti in puluere uultum humidaque inlisae pressisti lumina terrae, attollens oculos trepido miracula uisu concipe et eximio causam committe patrono. 5 nulla potest tantas conplecti pagina uires, quamquam ipsa his titulis caementa et saxa notentur. terrenum non claudit opus, quod regia caeli suscipit et rutilis inscribunt sidera gemmis. Martini si quaeris opem, trans astra resurgens 10 tange polum, angelicum scrutatus in aethere coetum. illic coniunctum domino perquire patronum, sectantem aeterni semper uestigia regis. si dubitas, ingesta oculis miracula cerne, quis famuli meritum uerus saluator honorat.
VERSES OF PAULINUS ON THOSE WHO PRAY. Whoever you are who, bowed to the ground, have buried your face in the dust and pressed your moist eyes against the stricken earth, lifting up your eyes, take in the wonders with trembling gaze, and commit your cause to the eminent Patron. No page can comprehend such great powers, although by these tokens the masonry and stones themselves are marked. The earthly fabric does not enclose the work which the court of heaven receives and which the stars inscribe with glowing gems. If you seek Martin's help, rising again beyond the stars, touch the heaven, searching out the angelic assembly in the upper air. There seek the Patron joined to the Lord, ever following the footsteps of the eternal King. If you doubt, behold the wonders set before your eyes, by which the true Savior honors the merit of His servant.

15 accedis reliquis inter tot milia testis, \'dum narranda uides sollers et uisa retexis. in sanctis quidquid signauit pagina libris, instaurat renouante deo. quo munere gaudent caecus, clodus, inops, furiosus, anxius, aeger, 20 debilis, oppressus, captiuus, maestus, egenus. omnis apostolicis gaudet curatio signis. qui flens adfuerit, laetus redit. omnia cedunt nubila. quod meritum turbat, medicina serenat. expete praesidium: non frustra haec limina pulsas. in cunctum perget pietas tam prodiga mundum.
You draw near, a witness among so many thousands of others, while skillfully you behold the things to be narrated and recount the things seen. Whatever the page has marked in the holy books, God renews and restores. By this gift the blind man rejoices, the lame, the destitute, the frenzied, the anxious, the sick, the feeble, the oppressed, the captive, the sorrowful, the needy. Every healing rejoices in apostolic signs. He who came in weeping returns glad. All clouds give way. What the disease troubles, the remedy makes serene. Seek the safeguard: not in vain do you knock at these thresholds. So bounteous a devotion will go forth into all the world.
