'The Spirit of wisdom fills with peace and gives the fruit of salvation; he saw, and numbered, and measured both in the gift of God' (Sir. 1:18, 9). CHAPTER 75. On their common modesty. There is the modesty of the Father, the modesty of the Son, the modesty of the Holy Spirit. Concerning the Father, in Jeremiah: 'O God, who in your holy modesty have established all things, I beseech you to give your servants grace in the sight of the king of Babylon, to whom for our sins and the sins of our fathers you have delivered us' (Baruch 2:14). Concerning the Son, to the Corinthians: 'Now I beseech you, brethren, by the meekness and modesty of Christ' (2 Cor. 10:1). Concerning the Holy Spirit, in the Epistle of the apostle Peter: 'Let it not be the outward adorning of plaiting the hair, or the wearing of gold, or the more elaborate fashion of garments.'

The Father sends, the Son sends, the Holy Spirit sends. Of the Father, in the Apostle: God sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh (Romans 8:3). The finger of the Father, the finger of the Son, the finger of the Holy Spirit. Of the Father, in Exodus: The magicians said to Pharaoh the king, This is the finger of God (Exodus 8:19). Of the Son, in the Gospel: And Jesus, bowing himself down, wrote with his finger upon the ground (John 8:6). Of the Holy Spirit, in the Gospel:
If I by the finger of God cast out demons, then surely the kingdom of God has come near to you (Luke 11:20). In another place: If I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then has the kingdom of God come upon you (Matthew 12:28). CHAPTER 79. On the common faith. The faith of the Father, the faith of the Son, the faith of the Holy Spirit. Of the Father, in the Epistle to the Romans: For what if some of them did not believe? Shall their unbelief make void the faith of God (Romans 3:3)? Of the Son, in the Apostle: But in that I now live in the flesh, I live in the faith of the Son of God, who loved me (Galatians 2:20). Of the Holy Spirit, in the same place: Having the same spirit of faith, as it is written, I believed, therefore have I spoken (2 Corinthians 4:13). CHAPTER 80. On the common foretelling.
The Father foretold, the Son foretold, the Holy Spirit foretold. Of the Father, in the Acts: But God, the things which he foretold by the mouth of his holy prophets concerning his Christ, he hath thus fulfilled (Acts 3:18). Of the Son, in the Gospel: And tell his brethren that he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him; lo, I have foretold it to you (Matthew 28:7). Of the Holy Spirit, in the Acts: Then Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said: Men and brethren, the Scripture must needs be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was the guide of those who took Jesus (Acts 1:16). The Father rules, likewise the Son, likewise the Holy Spirit. Of the Father, in the second Epistle of Peter:
