3:1
ወከማሁ አንትንሂ አንስት ተኰነና ለአምታቲክን ከመ እመ ቦ ዘኢየአምን በዝንቱ ነገር እምሥነ ምግባሪሆን ለአንስት ይርአዩ ወዘእንበለ ካሕድ ይርብሕዋ ለነፍሶሙ።
你們作妻子的要順服自己的丈夫；這樣，若有不信從道理的丈夫，他們雖然不聽道，也可以因妻子的品行被感化過來；
In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word,
3:2
ወእንዘ ትፈርሃ አሠንያ ግዕዘክን በንጽሕ።
這正是因看見你們有貞潔的品行和敬畏的心。
seeing your pure behavior in fear.
3:3
አኮ ከመ ታድልዋ ለዐይነ ሰብእ በተጸፍሮ ሥዕርትክን ወአኮ በተሰርግዎ ወርቅ ወብሩር ወአኮ በተላብሶ አልባስ ዘብዙኅ ሤጡ።
你們不要以外面的辮頭髮，戴金飾，穿美衣為妝飾，
Let your beauty come not from the outward adorning of braiding your hair, and of wearing gold ornaments or of putting on fine clothing,
3:4
አላ በኅቡእ ልቡ ለሰብእ ለዘኢይጠፍእ ወለዘኢይደምፅ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ዘህልው ቅድመ እግዚአብሔር ዘብዙኅ ሐሳቡ።
只要以裏面存着長久溫柔、安靜的心為妝飾；這在上帝面前是極寶貴的。
but from the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.
3:5
ወከማሁ ትካትኒ ቅዱሳት አንስት እለ ይትዌከላ ላዕለ እግዚአብሔር ይሰረገዋ ርእሶን በተኰንኖ ለአምታቲሆን።
因為古時仰賴上帝的聖潔婦人正是以此為妝飾，順服自己的丈夫，
For this is how in the past the holy women who hoped in God also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands.
3:6
ከመ ሣራ እስመ ይእቲ ትትኤዘዞ ለአብርሃም ወእግዚእየ ትብሎ ወአንትንሂ አዋልዲሃ ኩና በምግባረ ሠናይ እንዘ ኢትፈርሃ እምነ ድንጋፄ ወኢምንተኒ።
就如撒拉聽從亞伯拉罕，稱他為主。你們若行善，不因恐嚇而害怕，便是撒拉的女兒了。
So Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are if you do well and are not put in fear by any terror.
3:7
ወከማሁ አንትሙሂ ዕደው እንዘ ትነብሩ ምስለ አንስቲያክሙ ኢታስተሐቅሩ አንስቲያክሙ እስመ ይደክም ፍጥረተ ዚኣሆን ለአንስት አክብሩ አንስቲያክሙ እስመ ይወርሳ እማንቱኒ ክብረ ወሕይወተ ምስሌክሙ ከመ ኢትትዐቀፍ ጸሎትክሙ።
你們作丈夫的也要按情理 和妻子同住；因她比你軟弱 ，與你一同承受生命之恩的，所以要敬重她。這樣，便叫你們的禱告沒有阻礙。
You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman as to the weaker vessel, as also being joint heirs of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
3:8
ወማኅለቅቱሰ ለኵሉ ከመ ተዐርዩ ልበ በአሐዱ ኅሊና እንዘ ተሐምሙ ሕማመ ቢጽክሙ።
總而言之，你們都要同心，彼此體恤，相愛如弟兄，存慈憐謙卑的心。
Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,
3:9
ወእንዘ ኢታዐብዩ ልበክሙ ወእንዘ ኢትፈድይዎ እኪተ ለዘገብረ ለክሙ እኪተ ወእንዘ ኢትጼእልዎ ለዘጸለአክሙ ወለጸላኢክሙኒ ባርክዎ እስመ ለዝንቱ ተጸዋዕክሙ ከመ በረከተ ትረሱ።
不以惡報惡，以辱罵還辱罵，倒要祝福；因你們是為此蒙召，好叫你們承受福氣。
not rendering evil for evil or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
3:10
ወዘሰ ያፈቅራ ለሕይወት ወይፈቱ ይርአይ መዋዕለ ሠናያተ ያርምም ልሳኖ እምእኪት ወከናፍሪሁኒ ከመ ኢይንብባ ሐሰተ።
因為經上說： 人若愛生命， 願享美福， 須要禁止舌頭不出惡言， 嘴唇不說詭詐的話；
For, “He who would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
3:11
ይትገኀሥ እምእኪት ወይግበራ ለሠናይት ለይኅሥሣ ለሰላም ወይትልዋ።
也要離惡行善， 尋求和睦，一心追趕。
Let him turn away from evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it.
3:12
«እስመ አዕይንቲሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ኀበ ጻድቃኑ ወእዝኑሂ ኀበ ስእለቶሙ ገጹ ለእግዚአብሔር ኀበ እለ ይገበሩ እኪተ።»
因為，主的眼看顧義人； 主的耳聽他們的祈禱。 惟有行惡的人，主向他們變臉。
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
3:13
ወመኑ ውእቱ ዘእኪተ ይፈቅድ ለክሙ እመ ትቀንኡ ለገቢረ ሠናይ።
你們若是熱心行善，有誰害你們呢？
Now who will harm you if you become imitators of that which is good?
3:14
ወእመሰ በገቢረ ጽድቅ ተሐምሙ ብፁዓን አንትሙ ወዘሰ ይጌርመክሙ ኢትፍርሁ ወኢትደንግፁ።
你們就是為義受苦，也是有福的。不要怕人的威嚇 ，也不要驚慌；
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”
3:15
አላ ለእግዚአብሔር ቀድስዎ በኵሉ ልብክሙ ወድልዋኒክሙ ሀልዉ በኵሉ ጊዜ ከመ ታውሥእዎሙ ቃለ ለእለ ይሴአሉክሙ በእንተ ዛቲ ተስፋክሙ።
只要心裏尊主基督為聖。有人問你們心中盼望的緣由，就要常作準備，以溫柔、敬畏的心回答各人；
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear,
3:16
ወበየውሀትክሙ ወበፍርሀተ እግዚአብሔር አሠነዩ ግዕዘክሙ ከመ እመ ቦ እለ የሐምዩክሙ ከመ ዘእኩይ ምግባሪክሙ ይትኀፈሩ እለ የሐምዩክሙ እምሥነ ምግባሪክሙ ዘበእንተ ክርስቶስ።
存着無虧的良心，叫你們在何事上被毀謗，就在何事上可以叫那誣賴你們在基督裏有好品行的人自覺羞愧。
having a good conscience. Thus, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Christ.
3:17
እስመ ይኄይስ እንዘ ሠናየ ትገብሩ ወትፈቅዱ ፈቃዶ ለእግዚአብሔር ትሕምሙ እምነ እንዘ እኪተ ትገብሩ።
上帝的旨意若是叫你們因行善受苦，總強如因行惡受苦。
For it is better, if it is God’s will, that you suffer for doing what is right than for doing evil.
3:18
እስመ ክርስቶስኒ ምዕረ ሞተ በእንተ ኀጣውአ ሰብእ ወበእንቲኣነ ሞተ ጻድቅ በእንተ ኀጣውኢነ ከመ ኪያነ ያብጽሐነ ኀበ እግዚአብሔር ሞተ በሥጋ ወሐይወ በመንፈስ።
因基督也曾一次為罪受苦 ，就是義的代替不義的，為要引我們到上帝面前。按着肉體說，他被治死；按着靈性說，他復活了。
Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,
3:19
ወሖረ ኀበ እለ ሙቅሕታ ትነብር ነፍሶሙ ወሰበከ ሎሙ ግዕዛነ።
他藉這靈曾去傳道給那些在監獄裏的靈聽，
in whom he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,
3:20
ለእለ ክሕድዎ ቀዲሙ ወነበሩ በንስሓሆሙ እንዘ ይጸንሑ ትዕግሥቶ ለእግዚአብሔር ከመ እለ በመዋዕሊሁ ለኖኅ አመ ይገብር ታቦተ ወድኅኑ ባቲ ሰማኒቱ ነፍስ ኅዳጣን እምነ ማየ አይኅ።
就是那從前在挪亞預備方舟、上帝容忍等待的時候，不信從的人。當時進入方舟，藉着水得救的不多，只有八個人。
who before were disobedient when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
3:21
ወኪያነኒ ይእዜ ያድኅነነ በአርኣያሁ በጥምቀት አኮ በኅፅበተ ሥጋ እምርስሐት አላ ከመ ግዕዘ ሠናየ ይምሀረነ በዘነአምን በእግዚአብሔር ወበተንሥኦቱ ለእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ።
這水所表明的洗禮，現在藉着耶穌基督復活也拯救你們；這洗禮本不在乎除掉肉體的污穢，只求在上帝面前有無虧的良心。
This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
3:22
ዘሀለዎ ይነብር በየማነ እግዚአብሔር ዘዐርገ ውስተ ሰማይ ወተኰነኑ ሎቱ መላእክት ወሥልጣናት ወኵሉ ኀይል።
耶穌已經進入天堂，在上帝的右邊；眾天使和有權柄的，並有能力的，都服從了他。
who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.
