5:1

ወለእለኒ ይትለሀቁ እምኔክሙ አስተበቍዖሙ አነ ልሂቅ ካልኦሙ ወሰማዕት በእንተ ሕማሙ ለክርስቶስ ዘሀለዎ ያስተርኢ በስብሐቲሁ ከመ ትኩኑ ሱታፎ።

我這作長老、作基督受苦的見證、同享後來所要顯現之榮耀的，勸你們中間與我同作長老的人：

Therefore I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed:

5:2

ረዐዩ ዘሀለዉ ኀቤክሙ መርዔቶ ለእግዚአብሔር እንዘ ተዐቅብዎሙ ወኢትቅንይዎሙ በኵርህ አላ በጽድቅ በእንተ እግዚአብሔር እንዘ ኢትትሬብሕዎሙ አላ በምልአ ልብክሙ ወበትፍሥሕት።

務要牧養在你們中間上帝的群羊，按着上帝旨意照管他們；不是出於勉強，乃是出於甘心；也不是因為貪財，乃是出於樂意；

shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily; not for dishonest gain, but willingly;

5:3

እንዘ ኢትትኄየሉ ሕዝቦ አላ አርኣያ ኩንዎሙ ለመርዔቱ።

也不是轄制所託付你們的，乃是作群羊的榜樣。

not as lording it over those entrusted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.

5:4

ከመ አመ ያስተርኢ እግዚአ ኖሎት ትንሥኡ አክሊለ ስብሐት ዘኢይጸመሂ።

到了牧長顯現的時候，你們必得那永不衰殘的榮耀冠冕。

When the chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn’t fade away.

5:5

ወከማሁ አንትሙሂ ወራዙት ተኰነኑ ለእለ ይልህቁክሙ ወኵልክሙ ተመሀርዋ ለአትሕቶ ርእስክሙ እስመ እግዚአብሔር ያኀሥሮሙ ለዕቡያን ወያከብሮሙ ለእለ ያቴሕቱ ርእሶሙ።

你們年幼的，也要順服年長的。就是你們眾人也都要以謙卑束腰，彼此順服；因為上帝阻擋驕傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人。

Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility and subject yourselves to one another; for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

5:6

አትሕቱ እንከ ርእሰክሙ ታሕተ እዴሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ጽንዕት ከመ ያልዕልክሙ አመ ይሔውጸክሙ።

所以，你們要自卑，服在上帝大能的手下，到了時候，他必叫你們升高。

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time,

5:7

ወኵሎ ኅሊናክሙ ግድፉ ላዕሌሁ እስመ ውእቱ ይኄሊ በእንቲኣክሙ።

你們要將一切的憂慮卸給上帝，因為他顧念你們。

casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

5:8

ጥበቡ እንከ ወአጥብቡ ልበክሙ እስመ ጸላኢክሙ ጋኔን ይጥሕር ከመ አንበሳ ወየኀሥሥ ዘይውኅጥ።

務要謹守，警醒。因為你們的仇敵魔鬼，如同吼叫的獅子，遍地遊行，尋找可吞吃的人。

Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

5:9

አጽንዑ ቀዊመ በሃይማኖትክሙ እንዘ ተአምሩ ከመ ሕማሙ ለዝ ዓለም ትረክቦሙ ለኵሎሙ አኀዊክሙ ወአጽንዕዋ ለተፋቅሮ።

你們要用堅固的信心抵擋他，因為知道你們在世上的眾弟兄也是經歷這樣的苦難。

Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
