2:1
ወአንትሙሂ እንዘ ምዉታን አንትሙ በኀጢአትክሙ
你們死在過犯罪惡之中,他叫你們活過來。
You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins,
2:2
በዘቦቱ ሖርክሙ ትካት በንብረተ ሥርዐተ ዓለም ከመ ሥምረተ መልአክ መኰንነ ርእየተ ነፋስ ዘይኄይሎሙ ይእዜ ለደቂቀ ከሓድያን
那時,你們在其中行事為人,隨從今世的風俗,順服空中掌權者的首領,就是現今在悖逆之子心中運行的邪靈。
in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience.
2:3
ወንሕነሂ ነበርነ ኵልነ ትካት በፍትወተ ሥጋነ ወገበርነ ፈቃደ ሥጋነ ወዘኀለይነ ወኮነ ውሉደ መንሱት ከመ ኵሉ ኃጥኣን
我們從前也都在他們中間,放縱肉體的私慾,隨着肉體和心中所喜好的去行,本為可怒之子,和別人一樣。
We also all once lived among them in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
2:4
ወእግዚአብሔርሰ በብዕለ ስብሐቲሁ ወበብዝኀ ፍቅሩ ዘአፍቀረነ
然而,上帝既有豐富的憐憫,因他愛我們的大愛,
But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,
2:5
እንዘ ሙታን ንሕነ በኀጢአትነ አሕየወነ በክርስቶስ ወድኅነ በጸጋሁ
當我們死在過犯中的時候,便叫我們與基督一同活過來。你們得救是本乎恩。
even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
2:6
ወአንሥአነ ወአንበረነ ምስሌሁ በሰማያት በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ
他又叫我們與基督耶穌一同復活,一同坐在天上,
and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
2:7
ከመ ያርኢ በዓለም ዘይመጽእ ብዝኀ ጸጋሁ ወምሕረቱ ዘአፈድፈደ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ
要將他極豐富的恩典,就是他在基督耶穌裏向我們所施的恩慈,顯明給後來的世代看。
that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus;
2:8
እስመ በጸጋሁ ድኅነ ወበአሚን ወዳእሙ ጸጋሁ ለእግዚአብሔር ውእቱ ወኢኮነ ዚኣክሙ
你們得救是本乎恩,也因着信;這並不是出於自己,乃是上帝所賜的;
for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
2:9
ወአኮ በምግባሪነ ከመ አልቦ ዘይትሜካሕ
也不是出於行為,免得有人自誇。
not of works, that no one would boast.
2:10
እስመ ተግባሩ ንሕነ ዘፈጠረነ በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ለምግባረ ሠናይ ዘአቅደመ ሠሪዐ እግዚአብሔር በዘቦቱ ነሐውር
我們原是他的工作,在基督耶穌裏造成的,為要叫我們行善,就是上帝所預備叫我們行的。
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
2:11
ወተዘከሩ አንትሙ አሕዛብ ትካት በሕግ ዘሥጋ ሀሎክሙ ወይብሉክሙ ሰብአ ቍልፈት ከመዝ ይብሉክሙ ሰብአ ግዝረት ወግዝረትሰ ግብረ እደ ሰብእ ዘይትገበር ውስተ ሥጋ
所以你們應當記念:你們從前按肉體是外邦人,是稱為沒受割禮的;這名原是那些憑人手在肉身上稱為受割禮之人所起的。
Therefore remember that once you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “uncircumcision” by that which is called “circumcision” (in the flesh, made by hands),
2:12
ወኢተአምርዎ ለክርስቶስ ውእተ አሚረ ወነኪራን አንትሙ እምሕገ እስራኤል ወነግዳን እምሥርዐተ ተስፋ ወአልብክሙ ተስፋ ወኢተአምርዎ ለእግዚአብሔር በውስተ ዓለም
那時,你們與基督無關,在以色列國民以外,在所應許的諸約上是局外人,並且活在世上沒有指望,沒有上帝。
that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
2:13
ወይእዜሰ ባሕቱ አንትሙ እለ ትካት ርኁቃን ቀረብክሙ በደሙ ለክርስቶስ
你們從前遠離上帝的人,如今卻在基督耶穌裏,靠着他的血,已經得親近了。
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ.
2:14
እስመ ውእቱ ሰላምነ ዘረሰዮሙ አሐደ ለክልኤሆሙ ወነሠተ አረፍተ ማእከል በሥጋሁ
因他使我們和睦 ,將兩下合而為一,拆毀了中間隔斷的牆;
For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of separation,
2:15
ወሰዐረ ጽልአ ወአብጠለ ሕገ ትእዛዝ በሥርዐቱ ከመ ይረስዮሙ አሐደ ሐዲሰ ለክልኤሆሙ ወገብረ ሰላመ
而且以自己的身體廢掉冤仇,就是那記在律法上的規條,為要將兩下藉着自己造成一個新人,如此便成就了和睦。
having abolished in his flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace,
2:16
ወአብጽሖሙ ለክልኤሆሙ በአሐዱ ሥጋሁ ለኀበ እግዚአብሔር በመስቀሉ ወለጽልእ ቀተሎ ቦቱ
既在十字架上滅了冤仇,便藉這十字架使兩下歸為一體,與上帝和好了,
and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility through it.
2:17
ወመጽአ ወወሀበነ ሰላመ ለርኁቃን ወሰላመ ለቅሩባን
並且來傳和平的福音給你們遠處的人,也給那近處的人。
He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near.
2:18
እስመ ውእቱ መርሐነ ወአቅረበነ ለክልኤነ ኀበ አቡሁ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ
因為我們兩下藉着他被一個聖靈所感,得以進到父面前。
For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.
2:19
እምይእዜሰ ኢኮንክሙ ነግደ ወፈላሴ አላ አንትሙ ሰብአ ሀገሪቶሙ ለቅዱሳን ወሰብአ ቤቱ ለእግዚአብሔር
這樣,你們不再作外人和客旅,是與聖徒同國,是上帝家裏的人了;
So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God,
2:20
እስመ ተሐነጽክሙ ዲበ መሠረተ ሐዋርያት ወነቢያት እንዘ ክርስቶስ ርእሰ ማእዘንተ ሕንጻ
並且被建造在使徒和先知的根基上,有基督耶穌自己為房角石,
being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;
2:21
ዘቦቱ የኀድር ኵሉ ሕንጻ ወይጸንዕ ጽርሐ መቅደሱ ለእግዚአብሔር
各 房靠他聯絡得合式,漸漸成為主的聖殿。
in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;
2:22
ወአንትሙሂ ቦቱ ተሐነጽክሙ ማኅደረ እግዚአብሔር በመንፈስ ቅዱስ
你們也靠他同被建造,成為上帝藉着聖靈居住的所在。
in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
