15:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעַשׂ ־ל֥וֹ בָתִּ֖ים בְּעִ֣יר דָּוִ֑יד וַיָּ֤כֶן מָקוֹם֙ לַאֲר֣וֹן הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים וַיֶּט ־ל֖וֹ אֹֽהֶל ׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτῷ οἰκίας ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ ἡτοίμασεν τὸν τόπον τῇ κιβωτῷ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐποίησεν αὐτῇ σκηνήν
Fecit quoque sibi domos in civitate David : et aedificavit locum arcae Dei , tetenditque ei tabernaculum .
ወገብረ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ማኅፈደ ፡ በሀገሩ ፡ ወአስተዳለወ ፡ መካነ ፡ ለታቦተ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ ወገብረ ፡ ላቲ ፡ ትዕይንተ ።
David made himself houses in David’s city; and he prepared a place for God’s ark, and pitched a tent for it.
15:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ אָ֚ז אָמַ֣ר דָּוִ֔יד לֹ֤א לָשֵׂאת֙ אֶת ־אֲר֣וֹן הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים כִּ֖י אִם ־הַלְוִיִּ֑ם כִּֽי ־בָ֣ם ׀ בָּחַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה לָשֵׂ֞את אֶת ־אֲר֧וֹן יְהֹוָ֛ה וּֽלְשָׁרְת֖וֹ עַד ־עוֹלָֽם ׃ {פ}
τότε εἶπεν Δαυιδ οὐκ ἔστιν ἆραι τὴν κιβωτὸν τοῦ θεοῦ ἀλλ’ ἢ τοὺς Λευίτας ὅτι αὐτοὺς ἐξελέξατο κύριος αἴρειν τὴν κιβωτὸν κυρίου καὶ λειτουργεῖν αὐτῷ ἕως αἰῶνος
Tunc dixit David : Illicitum est ut a quocumque portetur arca Dei nisi a Levitis , quos elegit Dominus ad portandum eam , et ad ministrandum sibi usque in aeternum .
ወአሜሃ ፡ ይቤ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ኢኮነ ፡ ሠናየ ፡ ወኢኮነ ፡ አዳመ ፡ ትኩን ፡ ታቦተ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ ኀበ ፡ ባዕዳን ፡ አላ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ እስመ ፡ ኪያሆሙ ፡ ኃረየ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ ያንሥእዋ ፡ ወያንብርዋ ፡ ለታቦተ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ ወእሙንቱ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ ይትቀነዩ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ እስከ ፡ ለዓለም ።
Then David said, “No one ought to carry God’s ark but the Levites. For Yahweh has chosen them to carry God’s ark, and to minister to him forever.”
15:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּקְהֵ֥ל דָּוִ֛יד אֶת ־כׇּל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶל ־יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם לְהַֽעֲלוֹת֙ אֶת ־אֲר֣וֹן יְהֹוָ֔ה אֶל ־מְקוֹמ֖וֹ אֲשֶׁר ־הֵכִ֥ין לֽוֹ ׃
καὶ ἐξεκκλησίασεν Δαυιδ τὸν πάντα Ισραηλ εἰς Ιερουσαλημ τοῦ ἀνενέγκαι τὴν κιβωτὸν κυρίου εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν ἡτοίμασεν αὐτῇ
Congregavitque universum Israël in Jerusalem , ut afferretur arca Dei in locum suum , quem praeparaverat ei :
ወአስተጋብኦሙ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ከመ ፡ ያዕርጋ ፡ ለታቦተ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ ውስተ ፡ መካን ፡ ዘአተስተዳለወ ፡ ላቲ ።
David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up Yahweh’s ark to its place, which he had prepared for it.
15:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֶּאֱסֹ֥ף דָּוִ֛יד אֶת ־בְּנֵ֥י אַהֲרֹ֖ן וְאֶת ־הַלְוִיִּֽם ׃ {ס}
καὶ συνήγαγεν Δαυιδ τοὺς υἱοὺς Ααρων καὶ τοὺς Λευίτας
necnon et filios Aaron , et Levitas .
ወአስተጋብአ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ አሮን ፡ ወሌዋውያነሂ ።
David gathered together the sons of Aaron and the Levites:
15:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ לִבְנֵ֖י קְהָ֑ת אוּרִיאֵ֣ל הַשָּׂ֔ר וְאֶחָ֖יו מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִֽים ׃ {ס}
τῶν υἱῶν Κααθ Ουριηλ ὁ ἄρχων καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι
De filiis Caath , Uriel princeps fuit , et fratres ejus centum viginti .
ወለደቂቀ ፡ ቀዓት ፡ አርሄል ፡ መልአከ ፡ ወአኃዊሁ ፡ ምእት ፡ ወዕስራ ፡ በኍልቆሙ ።
of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brothers one hundred twenty;
15:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ לִבְנֵ֖י מְרָרִ֑י עֲשָׂיָ֣ה הַשָּׂ֔ר וְאֶחָ֖יו מָאתַ֥יִם וְעֶשְׂרִֽים ׃ {ס}
τῶν υἱῶν Μεραρι Ασαια ὁ ἄρχων καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ διακόσιοι πεντήκοντα
De filiis Merari , Asaia princeps : et fratres ejus ducenti viginti .
ወለደቂቀ ፡ ሜራሪ ፡ አሳያህ ፡ መልአክ ፡ ወአኃዊሁ ፡ ክልኤቱ ፡ ምእት ፡ ወኃምሳ ።
of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred twenty;
15:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ לִבְנֵ֖י גֵּרְשׁ֑וֹם יוֹאֵ֣ל הַשָּׂ֔ר וְאֶחָ֖יו מֵאָ֥ה וּשְׁלֹשִֽׁים ׃ {ס}
τῶν υἱῶν Γηρσαμ Ιωηλ ὁ ἄρχων καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ἑκατὸν πεντήκοντα
De filiis Gersom , Joël princeps : et fratres ejus centum triginta .
ወለደቂቀ ፡ ጌድሶን ፡ ኢዮሄት ፡ መልአክ ፡ ወአኃዊሁ ፡ ምእት ፡ ወሠላሳ ።
of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and his brothers one hundred thirty;
15:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ לִבְנֵ֖י אֱלִיצָפָ֑ן שְׁמַֽעְיָ֥ה הַשָּׂ֖ר וְאֶחָ֥יו מָאתָֽיִם ׃ {ס}
τῶν υἱῶν Ελισαφαν Σαμαιας ὁ ἄρχων καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ διακόσιοι
De filiis Elisaphan , Semeias princeps : et fratres ejus ducenti .
ወለደቂቀ ፡ ኤልሳፋን ፡ ስምዖን ፡ መልአክ ፡ ወአኃዊሁ ፡ ክልኤቱ ፡ ምእት ።
of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred;
15:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ לִבְנֵ֖י חֶבְר֑וֹן אֱלִיאֵ֥ל הַשָּׂ֖ר וְאֶחָ֥יו שְׁמוֹנִֽים ׃ {ס}
τῶν υἱῶν Χεβρων Ελιηλ ὁ ἄρχων καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ὀγδοήκοντα
De filiis Hebron , Eliel princeps : et fratres ejus octoginta .
ወለደቂቀ ፡ ኬብሮን ፡ ኢዩሄል ፡ መልአክ ፡ ወአኃዊሁ ፡ ሰማንያ ።
of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brothers eighty;
15:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ לִבְנֵ֖י עֻזִּיאֵ֑ל עַמִּינָדָ֣ב הַשָּׂ֔ר וְאֶחָ֕יו מֵאָ֖ה וּשְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָֽׂר ׃ {פ}
τῶν υἱῶν Οζιηλ Αμιναδαβ ὁ ἄρχων καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ ἑκατὸν δέκα δύο
De filiis Oziel , Aminadab princeps : et fratres ejus centum duodecim .
ወለደቂቀ ፡ አዝሄል ፡ አሚናዳብ ፡ መልአክ ፡ ምእት ፡ ዓሠርቱ ፡ ወክልኤቱ ።
of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and his brothers one hundred twelve.
15:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקְרָ֣א דָוִ֔יד לְצָד֥וֹק וּלְאֶבְיָתָ֖ר הַכֹּהֲנִ֑ים וְלַלְוִיִּ֗ם לְאוּרִיאֵ֤ל עֲשָׂיָה֙ וְיוֹאֵ֣ל שְׁמַֽעְיָ֔ה וֶאֱלִיאֵ֖ל וְעַמִּינָדָֽב ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Δαυιδ τὸν Σαδωκ καὶ Αβιαθαρ τοὺς ἱερεῖς καὶ τοὺς Λευίτας τὸν Ουριηλ Ασαια Ιωηλ Σαμαιαν Ελιηλ Αμιναδαβ
Vocavitque David Sadoc et Abiathar sacerdotes , et Levitas , Uriel , Asaiam , Joël , Semeiam , Eliel , et Aminadab :
ወጸውዖሙ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ለሳዶቅ ፡ ወለአብያታር ፡ ካህናት ፡ ወለሌዋውያን ፡ ወለኡርኤል ፡ ወለሳሳያህ ፡ ወለኢዮሄል ፡ ወለአሚናዳብ ።
David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites: for Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab,
15:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֔ם אַתֶּ֛ם רָאשֵׁ֥י הָאָב֖וֹת לַלְוִיִּ֑ם הִֽתְקַדְּשׁוּ֙ אַתֶּ֣ם וַאֲחֵיכֶ֔ם וְהַעֲלִיתֶ֗ם אֵ֣ת אֲר֤וֹן יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶל ־הֲכִינ֖וֹתִי לֽוֹ ׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς ἄρχοντες πατριῶν τῶν Λευιτῶν ἁγνίσθητε ὑμεῖς καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀνοίσετε τὴν κιβωτὸν τοῦ θεοῦ Ισραηλ οὗ ἡτοίμασα αὐτῇ
et dixit ad eos : Vos , qui estis principes familiarum Leviticarum , sanctificamini cum fratribus vestris , et afferte arcam Domini Dei Israël ad locum qui ei praeparatus est :
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ አንትሙኬ ፡ መላእክተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ አበዊሆሙ ፡ ለሌዋውያን ፡ ተቀደሱ ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ወአኃዊክሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታዕርግዋ ፡ ለታቦተ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ አምላክ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወአብጽሕዋ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መካና ፡ ዘአስተዳለውኩ ፡ ላቲ ።
and said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers’ households of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, both you and your brothers, that you may bring the ark of Yahweh, the God of Israel, up to the place that I have prepared for it.
15:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֛י לְמַבָּרִ֥אשׁוֹנָ֖ה לֹ֣א אַתֶּ֑ם פָּרַ֨ץ יְהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ בָּ֔נוּ כִּֽי ־לֹ֥א דְרַשְׁנֻ֖הוּ כַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט ׃
ὅτι οὐκ ἐν τῷ πρότερον ὑμᾶς εἶναι διέκοψεν ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐν ἡμῖν ὅτι οὐκ ἐζητήσαμεν ἐν κρίματι
ne ut a principio , quia non eratis praesentes , percussit nos Dominus ; sic et nunc fiat , illicitum quid nobis agentibus .
እስመ ፡ በቀደምትነ ፡ ኢመተረነ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ አምላክ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ በበይናቲነ ፡ ወኢኃሠሠነ ፡ በቅድስት ።
For because you didn’t carry it at first, Yahweh our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”
15:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּֽתְקַדְּשׁ֔וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֑ם לְהַעֲל֕וֹת אֶת ־אֲר֥וֹן יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ ἡγνίσθησαν οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται τοῦ ἀνενέγκαι τὴν κιβωτὸν θεοῦ Ισραηλ
Sanctificati sunt ergo sacerdotes et Levitae ut portarent arcam Domini Dei Israël .
ወአንጽሑ ፡ ርእሶሙ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ወሴዋውያን ፡ ወተደለዉ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያዕርግዋ ፡ ለታቦተ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ አምላክ ፡ እስራኤል ።
So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
15:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׂא֣וּ בְנֵֽי ־הַלְוִיִּ֗ם אֵ֚ת אֲר֣וֹן הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה מֹשֶׁ֖ה כִּדְבַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֑ה בִּכְתֵפָ֥ם בַּמֹּט֖וֹת עֲלֵיהֶֽם ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔλαβον οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν τὴν κιβωτὸν τοῦ θεοῦ ὡς ἐνετείλατο Μωυσῆς ἐν λόγῳ θεοῦ κατὰ τὴν γραφήν ἐν ἀναφορεῦσιν ἐπ’ αὐτούς
Et tulerunt filii Levi arcam Dei , sicut praeceperat Moyses juxta verbum Domini , humeris suis in vectibus .
ወነሥእዋ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ ለታቦት ፡ በከመ ፡ አዘዞሙ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ በቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ በመትከፍቶሙ ፡ በመፃውርት ፡ በከመ ፡ ጽሑፍ ፡ መባእኒ ፡ ወቊርባንኒ ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ።
The children of the Levites bore God’s ark on their shoulders with its poles, as Moses commanded according to Yahweh’s word.
15:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר דָּוִיד֮ לְשָׂרֵ֣י הַלְוִיִּם֒ לְהַעֲמִ֗יד אֶת ־אֲחֵיהֶם֙ הַמְשֹׁ֣רְרִ֔ים בִּכְלֵי ־שִׁ֛יר נְבָלִ֥ים וְכִנֹּר֖וֹת וּמְצִלְתָּ֑יִם מַשְׁמִיעִ֥ים לְהָרִֽים ־בְּק֖וֹל לְשִׂמְחָֽה ׃ {פ}
καὶ εἶπεν Δαυιδ τοῖς ἄρχουσιν τῶν Λευιτῶν στήσατε τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτῶν τοὺς ψαλτῳδοὺς ἐν ὀργάνοις ᾠδῶν νάβλαις καὶ κινύραις καὶ κυμβάλοις τοῦ φωνῆσαι εἰς ὕψος ἐν φωνῇ εὐφροσύνης
Dixitque David principibus Levitarum , ut constituerent de fratribus suis cantores in organis musicorum , nablis videlicet , et lyris , et cymbalis , ut resonaret in excelsis sonitus laetitiae .
ወይቤ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ለመላእክተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ሌዊውያን ፡ አቅምዎሙ ፡ ለአኃዊክሙ ፡ መዘምራን ፡ በጸናጽል ፡ ወበከበሮ ፡ ወእንዚራ ፡ ወበቃለ ፡ ቀርን ፡ ከመ ፡ ይጽርሑ ፡ ወያልዕሉ ፡ ቃላቲሆሙ ፡ በአርያም ፡ በፍሥሓ ፡ ወበኃሤት ።
David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers with instruments of music, stringed instruments, harps, and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up their voices with joy.
15:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעֲמִ֣ידוּ הַלְוִיִּ֗ם אֵ֚ת הֵימָ֣ן בֶּן ־יוֹאֵ֔ל וּמִ֨ן ־אֶחָ֔יו אָסָ֖ף בֶּן ־בֶּרֶכְיָ֑הוּ {ס} וּמִן ־בְּנֵ֤י מְרָרִי֙ אֲחֵיהֶ֔ם אֵיתָ֖ן בֶּן ־קוּשָׁיָֽהוּ ׃
καὶ ἔστησαν οἱ Λευῖται τὸν Αιμαν υἱὸν Ιωηλ ἐκ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ Ασαφ υἱὸς Βαραχια καὶ ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν Μεραρι ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ Αιθαν υἱὸς Κισαιου
Constitueruntque Levitas : Heman filium Joël , et de fratribus ejus Asaph filium Barachiae : de filiis vero Merari , fratribus eorum : Ethan filium Casaiae .
ወአቀምዎሙ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ ለኤማን ፡ ወልደ ፡ ኢዮሄል ፡ እምአኃዊሁ ፡ ወለአሳፍ ፡ ወልደ ፡ በራኪያ ፡ እምደቂቀ ፡ ሜራራ ፡ እምአኀዊሁ ።
So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brothers, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brothers, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
15:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעִמָּהֶ֖ם אֲחֵיהֶ֣ם הַמִּשְׁנִ֑ים זְכַרְיָ֡הוּ בֵּ֡ן וְיַעֲזִיאֵ֡ל וּשְׁמִירָמ֡וֹת וִיחִיאֵ֣ל ׀וְעֻנִּ֡י אֱלִיאָ֡ב וּבְנָיָ֡הוּ וּמַעֲשֵׂיָ֡הוּ וּמַתִּתְיָ֩הוּ֩ וֶאֱלִ֨יפְלֵ֜הוּ וּמִקְנֵיָ֨הוּ וְעֹבֵ֥ד אֱדֹ֛ם וִיעִיאֵ֖ל הַשֹּׁעֲרִֽים ׃
καὶ μετ’ αὐτῶν ἀδελφοὶ αὐτῶν οἱ δεύτεροι Ζαχαριας καὶ Οζιηλ καὶ Σεμιραμωθ καὶ Ιιηλ καὶ Ωνι καὶ Ελιαβ καὶ Βαναια καὶ Μαασαια καὶ Ματταθια καὶ Ελιφαλια καὶ Μακενια καὶ Αβδεδομ καὶ Ιιηλ καὶ Οζιας οἱ πυλωροί
Et cum eis fratres eorum : in secundo ordine , Zachariam , et Ben , et Jaziel , et Semiramoth , et Jahiel , et Ani , Eliab , et Banaiam , et Maasiam , et Mathathiam , et Eliphalu , et Maceniam , et Obededom , et Jehiel , janitores .
ወለኤታን ፡ ወልደ ፡ ቂሳን ፡ ወምስሌሆሙ ፡ አኃዊሆሙ ፡ ወካልአኒሆሙ ፡ ዘካርያስ ፡ ወኢያሄል ፡ ወሰናኒ ፡ ወኤልያብ ፡ ወበናኢያ ፡ ወበዓስያ ፡ ወመተንያስ ፡ ወኤልፋል ፡ ወመቃድያ ፡ ወአብዲዳም ፡ ወኢያሄል ፡ ወኤዝያስ ፡ ዓቀብተ ፡ አናቅጽ ።
and with them their brothers of the second rank: Zechariah, Ben, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers.
15:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהַמְשֹׁ֣רְרִ֔ים הֵימָ֥ן אָסָ֖ף וְאֵיתָ֑ן בִּמְצִלְתַּ֥יִם נְחֹ֖שֶׁת לְהַשְׁמִֽיעַ ׃
καὶ οἱ ψαλτῳδοί Αιμαν Ασαφ καὶ Αιθαν ἐν κυμβάλοις χαλκοῖς τοῦ ἀκουσθῆναι ποιῆσαι
Porro cantores , Heman , Asaph , et Ethan , in cymbalis aeneis concrepantes .
ወመዘምራን ፡ ኤማን ፡ ወአሳፍ ፡ ወኤታን ፡ ይዜምሩ ፡ በጸናጽለ ፡ ብርት ፡ ከመ ፡ ያድምፁ ፡ ልዑለ ።
So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were given cymbals of bronze to sound aloud;
15:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּזְכַרְיָ֨ה וַעֲזִיאֵ֜ל וּשְׁמִירָמ֤וֹת וִֽיחִיאֵל֙ וְעֻנִּ֣י וֶאֱלִיאָ֔ב וּמַעֲשֵׂיָ֖הוּ וּבְנָיָ֑הוּ בִּנְבָלִ֖ים עַל ־עֲלָמֽוֹת ׃
Ζαχαριας καὶ Οζιηλ Σεμιραμωθ Ιιηλ Ωνι Ελιαβ Μασαιας Βαναιας ἐν νάβλαις ἐπὶ αλαιμωθ
Zacharias autem , et Oziel , et Semiramoth , et Jahiel , et Ani , et Eliab , et Maasias , et Banaias in nablis arcana cantabant .
ወዘካርያስ ፡ ወኤዝሄል ፡ ወሴምራሞት ፡ ወኢያሄል ፡ ወአናኒ ፡ ወኤልያብ ፡ ወመዓስያስ ፡ ወብንያስ ፡ በእንዚራ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኤልማት ።
and Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with stringed instruments set to Alamoth;
15:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּמַתִּתְיָ֣הוּ וֶאֱלִֽיפְלֵ֗הוּ וּמִקְנֵיָ֙הוּ֙ וְעֹבֵ֣ד אֱדֹ֔ם וִיעִיאֵ֖ל וַעֲזַזְיָ֑הוּ בְּכִנֹּר֥וֹת עַל ־הַשְּׁמִינִ֖ית לְנַצֵּֽחַ ׃
καὶ Ματταθιας καὶ Ελιφαλιας καὶ Μακενιας καὶ Αβδεδομ καὶ Ιιηλ καὶ Οζιας ἐν κινύραις αμασενιθ τοῦ ἐνισχῦσαι
Porro Mathathias , et Eliphalu , et Macenias , et Obededom , et Jehiel , et Ozaziu , in citharis pro octava canebant epinicion .
ወኤልፋልያስ ፡ ወማትያስ ፡ ወማቄያንስ ፡ ወአብዲዶም ፡ ወኤልሄል ፡ ወአዝያስ ፡ በመሰንቆ ፡ ወአማሰኒት ፡ ከመ ፡ ያስተጻንዕ ።
and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps tuned to the eight-stringed lyre, to lead.
15:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּכְנַנְיָ֥הוּ שַֽׂר ־הַלְוִיִּ֖ם בְּמַשָּׂ֑א יָסֹר֙ בַּמַּשָּׂ֔א כִּ֥י מֵבִ֖ין הֽוּא ׃
καὶ Χωνενια ἄρχων τῶν Λευιτῶν ἄρχων τῶν ᾠδῶν ὅτι συνετὸς ἦν
Chonenias autem princeps Levitarum , prophetiae praeerat , ad praecinendam melodiam : erat quippe valde sapiens .
ወኮነኒያ ፡ መልአከ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ ወመልአከ ፡ መኃልይ ፡ እስመ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ ውእቱ ።
Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the singing. He taught the singers, because he was skillful.
15:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבֶֽרֶכְיָה֙ וְאֶלְקָנָ֔ה שֹׁעֲרִ֖ים לָאָרֽוֹן ׃
καὶ Βαραχια καὶ Ηλκανα πυλωροὶ τῆς κιβωτοῦ
Et Barachias , et Elcana , janitores arcae .
ወበራክያስ ፡ ወእልቃና ፡ ዓቀብተ ፡ አናቅጸ ፡ ታቦት ።
Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
15:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּשְׁבַנְיָ֡הוּ וְיוֹשָׁפָ֡ט וּנְתַנְאֵ֡ל וַעֲמָשַׂ֡י וּ֠זְכַרְיָ֠הוּ וּבְנָיָ֤הוּ וֶאֱלִיעֶ֙זֶר֙ הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים (מחצצרים ) [מַחְצְרִים֙ ] בַּחֲצֹ֣צְר֔וֹת לִפְנֵ֖י אֲר֣וֹן הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וְעֹבֵ֤ד אֱדֹם֙ וִֽיחִיָּ֔ה שֹׁעֲרִ֖ים לָאָרֽוֹן ׃
καὶ Σοβνια καὶ Ιωσαφατ καὶ Ναθαναηλ καὶ Αμασαι καὶ Ζαχαρια καὶ Βαναι καὶ Ελιεζερ οἱ ἱερεῖς σαλπίζοντες ταῖς σάλπιγξιν ἔμπροσθεν τῆς κιβωτοῦ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ Αβδεδομ καὶ Ιια πυλωροὶ τῆς κιβωτοῦ τοῦ θεοῦ
Porro Sebenias , et Josaphat , et Nathanaël , et Amasai , et Zacharias , et Banaias , et Eliezer sacerdotes , clangebant tubis coram arca Dei : et Obededom et Jehias erant janitores arcae .
ወሰበኒያ ፡ ወኢዮሳፍጥ ፡ ወናትናሄል ፡ ወስማዒ ፡ ወዘካርያስ ፡ ወበናኢያ ፡ ወአልአዛር ፡ ካህናት ፡ ይዜምሩ ፡ በአቅርንት ፡ በቅድመ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ቸረገረዚአበረሄር ፡ ወአብዲዶም ፡ ወኢያኢያ ፡ ዓቀብተ ፡ አናቅጸ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ።
Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before God’s ark; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
15:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֥י דָוִ֛יד וְזִקְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְשָׂרֵ֣י הָאֲלָפִ֑ים הַהֹלְכִ֗ים לְֽהַעֲל֞וֹת אֶת ־אֲר֧וֹן בְּרִית ־יְהֹוָ֛ה מִן ־בֵּ֥ית עֹבֵֽד ־אֱדֹ֖ם בְּשִׂמְחָֽה ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἦν Δαυιδ καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Ισραηλ καὶ οἱ χιλίαρχοι οἱ πορευόμενοι τοῦ ἀναγαγεῖν τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου ἐξ οἴκου Αβδεδομ ἐν εὐφροσύνῃ
Igitur David , et omnes majores natu Israël , et tribuni , ierunt ad deportandam arcam foederis Domini de domo Obededom cum laetitia .
ወሀሎ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ወአእሩገ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወአርእስተ ፡ ዓሠርቱ ፡ ምእት ፡ የሐውሩ ፡ ወይተልዉ ፡ ድኅረ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ትእዛዙ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ እምቤተ ፡ አብዲዶም ፡ በትፍሥሕት ።
So David, the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands went to bring the ark of Yahweh’s covenant up out of the house of Obed-Edom with joy.
15:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיְהִי֙ בֶּעְזֹ֣ר הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים אֶ֨ת ־הַלְוִיִּ֔ם נֹשְׂאֵ֖י אֲר֣וֹן בְּרִית ־יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיִּזְבְּח֥וּ שִׁבְעָֽה ־פָרִ֖ים וְשִׁבְעָ֥ה אֵילִֽים ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ κατισχῦσαι τὸν θεὸν τοὺς Λευίτας αἴροντας τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου καὶ ἔθυσαν ἑπτὰ μόσχους καὶ ἑπτὰ κριούς
Cumque adjuvisset Deus Levitas qui portabant arcam foederis Domini , immolabantur septem tauri , et septem arietes .
ወኮነ ፡ አሜሃ ፡ በከመ ፡ አጽንዖሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሌዋውያን ፡ ከመ ፡ ይፁሩ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ ወሦዑ ፡ ሰብዐተ ፡ አልሕምተ ፡ ወሰብዐተ ፡ ሐራጊተ ።
When God helped the Levites who bore the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
15:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְדָוִ֞יד מְכֻרְבָּ֣ל ׀ בִּמְעִ֣יל בּ֗וּץ וְכׇל ־הַלְוִיִּם֙ הַנֹּשְׂאִ֣ים אֶת ־הָאָר֔וֹן וְהַמְשֹׁ֣רְרִ֔ים וּכְנַנְיָ֛ה הַשַּׂ֥ר הַמַּשָּׂ֖א הַמְשֹׁרְרִ֑ים וְעַל ־דָּוִ֖יד אֵפ֥וֹד בָּֽד ׃
καὶ Δαυιδ περιεζωσμένος ἐν στολῇ βυσσίνῃ καὶ πάντες οἱ Λευῖται αἴροντες τὴν κιβωτὸν διαθήκης κυρίου καὶ οἱ ψαλτῳδοὶ καὶ Χωνενιας ὁ ἄρχων τῶν ᾠδῶν τῶν ᾀδόντων καὶ ἐπὶ Δαυιδ στολὴ βυσσίνη
Porro David erat indutus stola byssina , et universi Levitae qui portabant arcam , cantoresque , et Chonenias princeps prophetiae inter cantores : David autem etiam indutus erat ephod lineo .
ወዳዊትኒ ፡ ቅኑት ፡ በዐጽፍ ፡ ዘዕፁብ ፡ ሤጡ ፡ ወኵሎሙ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ ይፀውሩ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ትእዛዘ ፡ እግዚአብሄር ፡ ወሀለዉ ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፡ መዘምራን ፡ ወኮኖንያስ ፡ መልአከ ፡ መኃልይ ፡ ለኀለይት ፡ ወሀሎ ፡ ዐጽፍ ፡ ክቡር ፡ ዲቤሁ ፡ ለዳዊት ።
David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who bore the ark, the singers, and Chenaniah the choir master with the singers; and David had an ephod of linen on him.
15:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְכׇל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל מַֽעֲלִים֙ אֶת ־אֲר֣וֹן בְּרִית ־יְהֹוָ֔ה בִּתְרוּעָה֙ וּבְק֣וֹל שׁוֹפָ֔ר וּבַחֲצֹצְר֖וֹת וּבִמְצִלְתָּ֑יִם מַשְׁמִעִ֕ים בִּנְבָלִ֖ים וְכִנֹּרֽוֹת ׃
καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ ἀνάγοντες τὴν κιβωτὸν διαθήκης κυρίου ἐν σημασίᾳ καὶ ἐν φωνῇ σωφερ καὶ ἐν σάλπιγξιν καὶ ἐν κυμβάλοις ἀναφωνοῦντες νάβλαις καὶ ἐν κινύραις
Universusque Israël deducebant arcam foederis Domini in jubilo , et sonitu buccinae , et tubis , et cymbalis , et nablis , et citharis concrepantes .
ወኵሎሙ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ አዕረግዋ ፡ ለታቦተ ፡ ኪዳነ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በውውዓ ፡ ወበቃለ ፡ ቀርን ፡ ወበመዝሙር ፡ ወበጸናጽላት ፡ ለአስምዖ ፡ በናብሊስ ፡ ወበእንዚራ ።
Thus all Israel brought the ark of Yahweh’s covenant up with shouting, with sound of the cornet, with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with stringed instruments and harps.
15:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֗י אֲרוֹן֙ בְּרִ֣ית יְהֹוָ֔ה בָּ֖א עַד ־עִ֣יר דָּוִ֑יד וּמִיכַ֨ל בַּת ־שָׁא֜וּל נִשְׁקְפָ֣ה ׀ בְּעַ֣ד הַחַלּ֗וֹן וַתֵּ֨רֶא אֶת ־הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ דָּוִיד֙ מְרַקֵּ֣ד וּמְשַׂחֵ֔ק וַתִּ֥בֶז ל֖וֹ בְּלִבָּֽהּ ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐγένετο κιβωτὸς διαθήκης κυρίου καὶ ἦλθεν ἕως πόλεως Δαυιδ καὶ Μελχολ θυγάτηρ Σαουλ παρέκυψεν διὰ τῆς θυρίδος καὶ εἶδεν τὸν βασιλέα Δαυιδ ὀρχούμενον καὶ παίζοντα καὶ ἐξουδένωσεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ψυχῇ αὐτῆς
Cumque pervenisset arca foederis Domini usque ad civitatem David , Michol filia Saul prospiciens per fenestram vidit regem David saltantem atque ludentem , et despexit eum in corde suo .
ወኮነ ፡ ሶበ ፡ በጽሐት ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ኪዳኑ ፡ ለእግዚአብሄር ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ወሜልኮል ፡ ወለተ ፡ ሳኦል ፡ እንዘ ፡ ትሔውጽ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መስኮት ፡ ርእየቶ ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይዘፍን ፡ ወይትፌሣሕ ፡ አስተሐቀረቶ ፡ በልባ ።
As the ark of Yahweh’s covenant came to David’s city, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.
