3:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀρχόμεθα πάλιν ἑαυτοὺς συνιστάνειν ; ἢ μὴ χρῄζομεν ὥς τινες συστατικῶν ἐπιστολῶν πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἢ ἐξ ὑμῶν ;
Incipimus iterum nosmetipsos commendare ? aut numquid egemus (sicut quidam ) commendatitiis epistolis ad vos , aut ex vobis ?
አኀዊነ ነአኀዝኑ ካዕበ ይእዜ ንንግርክሙ ንወድስ ርእሰነ ወቦኑ ዘንፈቅድ ከመ እልክቱ ካልኣን እስከ ንጽሕፍ ኀቤክሙ በእንቲኣነ መጽሐፈ አው ከመ ትጽሐፉ አንትሙ ።
Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you?
3:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡ ἐπιστολὴ ἡμῶν ὑμεῖς ἐστε , ἐνγεγραμμένη ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ἡμῶν , γινωσκομένη καὶ ἀναγινωσκομένη ὑπὸ πάντων ἀνθρώπων ·
Epistola nostra vos estis , scripta in cordibus nostris , quae scitur , et legitur ab omnibus hominibus :
ወለነሰ መጽሐፍነ አንትሙ ይእቲ ወጽሕፍት ውስተ ልብነ ወትትዐወቅ ወያነብባ ኵሉ ሰብእ ።
You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men,
3:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ φανερούμενοι ὅτι ἐστὲ ἐπιστολὴ Χριστοῦ διακονηθεῖσα ὑφ’ ἡμῶν , ἐνγεγραμμένη οὐ μέλανι ἀλλὰ πνεύματι θεοῦ ζῶντος , οὐκ ἐν πλαξὶν λιθίναις ἀλλ’ ἐν πλαξὶν καρδίαις σαρκίναις .
manifestati quod epistola estis Christi , ministrata a nobis , et scripta non atramento , sed Spiritu Dei vivi : non in tabulis lapideis , sed in tabulis cordis carnalibus .
ወየአምሩክሙ ከመ መልእክተ ክርስቶስ አንትሙ እንተ ተልእክናሃ ንሕነ ወጽሕፍት ይእቲ ወአኮ በማየ ሕመት ዘእንበለ በመንፈሰ እግዚአብሔር ሕያው ወኢኮነ ጽሌ ዘእብን ዘእንበለ ጽሌ ልብ ዘሥጋ ።
being revealed that you are a letter of Christ, served by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh.
3:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ πεποίθησιν δὲ τοιαύτην ἔχομεν διὰ τοῦ Χριστοῦ πρὸς τὸν θεόν .
Fiduciam autem talem habemus per Christum ad Deum :
ወብነ ባሕቱ ከመዝ ተስፋ በኀበ እግዚአብሔር በእንተ ክርስቶስ ።
Such confidence we have through Christ toward God,
3:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐχ ὅτι ἀφ’ ἑαυτῶν ἱκανοί ἐσμεν λογίσασθαί τι ὡς ἐξ ἑαυτῶν , ἀλλ’ ἡ ἱκανότης ἡμῶν ἐκ τοῦ θεοῦ ,
non quod sufficientes simus cogitare aliquid a nobis , quasi ex nobis : sed sufficientia nostra ex Deo est :
ወኢይደልወነ ነኀሊ ለሊነ ለርእስነ ወኢምንተኒ ።
not that we are sufficient of ourselves to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God,
3:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃς καὶ ἱκάνωσεν ἡμᾶς διακόνους καινῆς διαθήκης , οὐ γράμματος ἀλλὰ πνεύματος · τὸ γὰρ γράμμα ἀποκτέννει , τὸ δὲ πνεῦμα ζῳοποιεῖ .
qui et idoneos nos fecit ministros novi testamenti : non littera , sed Spiritu : littera enim occidit , Spiritus autem vivificat .
እስመ እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር ኀይልነ ዘረሰየነ ላእካነ ለሐዲስ ሕግ ወአኮ በሕገ መጽሐፍ አላ በሕገ መንፈስ እስመ መጽሐፍ ይቀትል ወመንፈስ ያሐዩ ።
who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
3:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ δὲ ἡ διακονία τοῦ θανάτου ἐν γράμμασιν ἐντετυπωμένη λίθοις ἐγενήθη ἐν δόξῃ , ὥστε μὴ δύνασθαι ἀτενίσαι τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ εἰς τὸ πρόσωπον Μωϋσέως διὰ τὴν δόξαν τοῦ προσώπου αὐτοῦ τὴν καταργουμένην ,
Quod si ministratio mortis litteris deformata in lapidibus fuit in gloria , ita ut non possent intendere filii Israël in faciem Moysi propter gloriam vultus ejus , quae evacuatur :
ወሶበ ለእንታክቲ መልእክተ ሞት እንተ ተጽሕፈት በእብን ተገብረ ላቲ ስብሐት እስከ ኢይክሉ ደቂቀ እስራኤል ነጽሮተ ገጹ ለሙሴ በእንተ ስብሐተ ገጹ ኀላፊ ።
But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face, which was passing away,
3:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ πῶς οὐχὶ μᾶλλον ἡ διακονία τοῦ πνεύματος ἔσται ἐν δόξῃ ;
quomodo non magis ministratio Spiritus erit in gloria ?
እፎ እንከ ይትገበር ፈድፋደ ስብሐት ለመልእክተ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ።
won’t service of the Spirit be with much more glory?
3:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ γὰρ τῇ διακονίᾳ τῆς κατακρίσεως δόξα , πολλῷ μᾶλλον περισσεύει ἡ διακονία τῆς δικαιοσύνης δόξῃ .
Nam si ministratio damnationis gloria est : multo magis abundat ministerium justitiae in gloria .
ሶበ ለመልእክት እንተ ታኴንን ወታሐስብ ተገብረ ላቲ ስብሐት ብዙኅ ሚ መጠን ፈድፋደ መልእክተ ጽድቅ ትሴባሕ ወትከብር ።
For if the service of condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.
3:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ γὰρ οὐ δεδόξασται τὸ δεδοξασμένον ἐν τούτῳ τῷ μέρει εἵνεκεν τῆς ὑπερβαλλούσης δόξης .
Nam nec glorificatum est , quod claruit in hac parte , propter excellentem gloriam .
እስከ ትከውን እንተ ተሰብሐት ከመ ዘኢተሰብሐት ሶበ ያስተዔርይዋ በዝንቱ ስብሐት ዐቢይ ።
For most certainly that which has been made glorious has not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasses.
3:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ γὰρ τὸ καταργούμενον διὰ δόξης , πολλῷ μᾶλλον τὸ μένον ἐν δόξῃ .
Si enim quod evacuatur , per gloriam est : multo magis quod manet , in gloria est .
ወሶበ ኀላፊ ዘይሰዐር ረከበ ስብሐተ እፎ ፈድፋደ ዘይነብር ይረክብ ቀዋሚ ስብሐተ ።
For if that which passes away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory.
3:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἔχοντες οὖν τοιαύτην ἐλπίδα πολλῇ παρρησίᾳ χρώμεθα ,
Habentes igitur talem spem , multa fiducia utimur :
ወእንዘ ብነ መጠነዝ ተስፋ ርቱዕ ንቅረብ በገጽ ገሃደ ።
Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech,
3:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐ καθάπερ Μωϋσῆς ἐτίθει κάλυμμα ἐπὶ τὸ πρόσωπον ἑαυτοῦ , πρὸς τὸ μὴ ἀτενίσαι τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ εἰς τὸ τέλος τοῦ καταργουμένου .
et non sicut Moyses ponebat velamen super faciem suam , ut non intenderent filii Israël in faciem ejus , quod evacuatur ,
ወአኮ ከመ ሙሴ ዘይገለብብ ገጾ ከመ ኢይርአይዎ ደቂቀ እስራኤል ።
and not as Moses, who put a veil on his face so that the children of Israel wouldn’t look steadfastly on the end of that which was passing away.
3:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλὰ ἐπωρώθη τὰ νοήματα αὐτῶν . ἄχρι γὰρ τῆς σήμερον ἡμέρας τὸ αὐτὸ κάλυμμα ἐπὶ τῇ ἀναγνώσει τῆς παλαιᾶς διαθήκης μένει μὴ ἀνακαλυπτόμενον , ὅτι ἐν Χριστῷ καταργεῖται ·
sed obtusi sunt sensus eorum . Usque in hodiernum enim diem , idipsum velamen in lectione veteris testamenti manet non revelatum (quoniam in Christo evacuatur ),
ወባሕቱ ተጸለለ ልቦሙ እስከ ይእዜ እስመ ውእቱ ግላ ነበረ ውስተ ሕግ ብሉይ አምጣነ ተነበ ወኢተከሥተ እስከ አፅርዖ ክርስቶስ ።
But their minds were hardened, for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains, because in Christ it passes away.
3:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀλλ’ ἕως σήμερον ἡνίκα ἂν ἀναγινώσκηται Μωϋσῆς κάλυμμα ἐπὶ τὴν καρδίαν αὐτῶν κεῖται ·
sed usque in hodiernum diem , cum legitur Moyses , velamen positum est super cor eorum .
ወእስከ ዮም ሶበ ያነብቡ ኦሪተ ሙሴ ይገልዎሙ ልቦሙ ።
But to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.
3:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡνίκα δὲ ἐὰν ἐπιστρέψῃ πρὸς κύριον , περιαιρεῖται τὸ κάλυμμα .
Cum autem conversus fuerit ad Dominum , auferetur velamen .
ወእምከመ ተመይጡ ኀበ እግዚአብሔር የአትት ውእቱ ግላ እምኔሆሙ ።
But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
3:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ κύριος τὸ πνεῦμά ἐστιν · οὗ δὲ τὸ πνεῦμα κυρίου , ἐλευθερία .
Dominus autem Spiritus est : ubi autem Spiritus Domini , ibi libertas .
እስመ እግዚአብሔር መንፈስ ውእቱ ወኀበ ሀሎ መንፈሰ እግዚአብሔር ህየ ሀሎ ግዕዛን ።
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
3:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡμεῖς δὲ πάντες ἀνακεκαλυμμένῳ προσώπῳ τὴν δόξαν κυρίου κατοπτριζόμενοι τὴν αὐτὴν εἰκόνα μεταμορφούμεθα ἀπὸ δόξης εἰς δόξαν , καθάπερ ἀπὸ κυρίου πνεύματος .
Nos vero omnes , revelata facie gloriam Domini speculantes , in eamdem imaginem transformamur a claritate in claritatem , tamquam a Domini Spiritu .
ወንሕነሰ ኵልነ ከሢተነ ገጸነ ንነጽር ስብሐተ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ዘበመጽሔት ወንትመሰል በአርኣያ ዚኣሁ ከመ ንባእ እምክብር ውስተ ክብር በከመ ይሁበነ እግዚአብሔር መንፈሰ ።
But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.
