11:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽעֲתַלְיָה֙ אֵ֣ם אֲחַזְיָ֔הוּ (וראתה ) [רָאֲתָ֖ה ] כִּ֣י מֵ֣ת בְּנָ֑הּ וַתָּ֙קׇם֙ וַתְּאַבֵּ֔ד אֵ֖ת כׇּל ־זֶ֥רַע הַמַּמְלָכָֽה ׃
καὶ Γοθολια ἡ μήτηρ Οχοζιου εἶδεν ὅτι ἀπέθανον οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτῆς καὶ ἀπώλεσεν πᾶν τὸ σπέρμα τῆς βασιλείας
Athalia vero mater Ochoziae , videns mortuum filium suum , surrexit , et interfecit omne semen regium .
ወጎቶልያ ፡ እሙ ፡ ለአካዝያስ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ርእየት ፡ ከመ ፡ ሞተ ፡ ወልዳ ፡ ወጠፍአ ፡ ዘመደ ፡ መንግሥት ፤
Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal offspring.
11:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתִּקַּ֣ח יְהוֹשֶׁ֣בַע בַּת ־הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ־י֠וֹרָ֠ם אֲח֨וֹת אֲחַזְיָ֜הוּ אֶת ־יוֹאָ֣שׁ בֶּן ־אֲחַזְיָ֗ה וַתִּגְנֹ֤ב אֹתוֹ֙ מִתּ֤וֹךְ בְּנֵֽי ־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ (הממותתים ) [הַמּ֣וּמָתִ֔ים ] אֹת֥וֹ וְאֶת ־מֵינִקְתּ֖וֹ בַּחֲדַ֣ר הַמִּטּ֑וֹת וַיַּסְתִּ֧רוּ אֹת֛וֹ מִפְּנֵ֥י עֲתַלְיָ֖הוּ וְלֹ֥א הוּמָֽת ׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωσαβεε θυγάτηρ τοῦ βασιλέως Ιωραμ ἀδελφὴ Οχοζιου τὸν Ιωας υἱὸν ἀδελφοῦ αὐτῆς καὶ ἔκλεψεν αὐτὸν ἐκ μέσου τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ βασιλέως τῶν θανατουμένων αὐτὸν καὶ τὴν τροφὸν αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ ταμιείῳ τῶν κλινῶν καὶ ἔκρυψεν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ προσώπου Γοθολιας καὶ οὐκ ἐθανατώθη
Tollens autem Josaba filia regis Joram , soror Ochoziae , Joas filium Ochoziae , furata est eum de medio filiorum regis qui interficiebantur , et nutricem ejus de triclinio : et abscondit eum a facie Athaliae ut non interficeretur .
ነሥአ [ቶ ]፡ ኢዮሰቡሔ ፡ ወለተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ [ኢዮራም ፡ እኅቱ ፡ ለአካዝያስ ፡ ለኢዮአስ ፡ ወልደ ፡ አካዝያስ ፡] ሰረቀቶ ፡ እማእከለ ፡ ደቀቀ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ እለ ፡ ቀተሉ ፡ ወለሐፃኒቱ ፡ ወኀብአቶ ፡ ውሳጢተ ፡ ጽርሕ ፡ እምጎቶልያ ፡ ወኢቀተለቶ ።
But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were slain, even him and his nurse, and put them in the bedroom; and they hid him from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.
11:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֤י אִתָּהּ֙ בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֔ה מִתְחַבֵּ֖א שֵׁ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֑ים וַעֲתַלְיָ֖ה מֹלֶ֥כֶת עַל ־הָאָֽרֶץ ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἦν μετ’ αὐτῆς ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου κρυβόμενος ἓξ ἔτη καὶ Γοθολια βασιλεύουσα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς
Eratque cum ea sex annis clam in domo Domini : porro Athalia regnavit super terram .
ወኀብአቶ ፡ ፮ዓመተ ፡ ወጎቶልያ ፡ ለሊሃ ፡ ነግሠት ፡ ለብሔር ፡ ፮ዓመተ ።
He was with her hidden in Yahweh’s house six years while Athaliah reigned over the land.
11:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַ֠שְּׁבִיעִ֠ית שָׁלַ֨ח יְהוֹיָדָ֜ע וַיִּקַּ֣ח ׀ אֶת ־שָׂרֵ֣י (המאיות ) [הַמֵּא֗וֹת ] לַכָּרִי֙ וְלָ֣רָצִ֔ים וַיָּבֵ֥א אֹתָ֛ם אֵלָ֖יו בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיִּכְרֹת֩ לָהֶ֨ם בְּרִ֜ית וַיַּשְׁבַּ֤ע אֹתָם֙ בְּבֵ֣ית יְהֹוָ֔ה וַיַּ֥רְא אֹתָ֖ם אֶת ־בֶּן ־הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ׃
καὶ ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ ἑβδόμῳ ἀπέστειλεν Ιωδαε ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ ἔλαβεν τοὺς ἑκατοντάρχους τὸν Χορρι καὶ τὸν Ρασιμ καὶ ἀπήγαγεν αὐτοὺς πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰς οἶκον κυρίου καὶ διέθετο αὐτοῖς διαθήκην κυρίου καὶ ὥρκισεν αὐτοὺς ἐνώπιον κυρίου καὶ ἔδειξεν αὐτοῖς Ιωδαε τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ βασιλέως
Anno autem septimo misit Jojada , et assumens centuriones et milites , introduxit ad se in templum Domini , pepigitque cum eis foedus : et adjurans eos in domo Domini , ostendit eis filium regis :
ወአመ ፡ ሳብዕ ፡ ዓም ፡ ለአከ ፡ ዮዳሔ ፡ ወአምጽኦሙ ፡ ለመሳፍንት ፡ ለኮሪ ፡ ወለራሲን ፡ ወአብኦሙ ፡ ኀቤሁ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወተካየዶሙ ፡ ኪዳነ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአምሐሎሙ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአርአዮሙ ፡ ዮዳሔ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ንጉሥ ።
In the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the captains over hundreds of the Carites and of the guard, and brought them to him into Yahweh’s house; and he made a covenant with them, and made a covenant with them in Yahweh’s house, and showed them the king’s son.
11:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְצַוֵּ֣ם לֵאמֹ֔ר זֶ֥ה הַדָּבָ֖ר אֲשֶׁ֣ר תַּעֲשׂ֑וּן הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֤ית מִכֶּם֙ בָּאֵ֣י הַשַּׁבָּ֔ת וְשֹׁ֣מְרֵ֔י מִשְׁמֶ֖רֶת בֵּ֥ית הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ׃
καὶ ἐνετείλατο αὐτοῖς λέγων οὗτος ὁ λόγος ὃν ποιήσετε τὸ τρίτον ἐξ ὑμῶν εἰσελθέτω τὸ σάββατον καὶ φυλάξετε φυλακὴν οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως ἐν τῷ πυλῶνι
et praecepit illis , dicens : Iste est sermo , quem facere debetis :
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ግበሩ ፤ ሣልስተ ፡ እዴክሙ ፡ ባኡ ፡ በዕለተ ፡ ሰንበት ፡ ወዕቀቡ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወንበሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አንቀጽ ፤
He commanded them, saying, “This is what you must do: a third of you, who come in on the Sabbath, shall be keepers of the watch of the king’s house;
11:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁית֙ בְּשַׁ֣עַר ס֔וּר וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁ֥ית בַּשַּׁ֖עַר אַחַ֣ר הָרָצִ֑ים וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֛ם אֶת ־מִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת הַבַּ֖יִת מַסָּֽח ׃
καὶ τὸ τρίτον ἐν τῇ πύλῃ τῶν ὁδῶν καὶ τὸ τρίτον τῆς πύλης ὀπίσω τῶν παρατρεχόντων καὶ φυλάξετε τὴν φυλακὴν τοῦ οἴκου
tertia pars vestrum introëat sabbato , et observet excubias domus regis . Tertia autem pars sit ad portam Sur , et tertia pars sit ad portam quae est post habitaculum scutariorum : et custodietis excubias domus Messa .
ወሣልስተ ፡ እዴክሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ስፍሐተ ፡ ፍናዌ ፡ ንበሩ ፡ መንገለ ፡ አንቀጽ ፡ ዘዐውደ ፡ ድኅሬሆሙ ፡ ለወዐልተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወዕቀቡ ፡ ወአጽንዑ ፡ ቤተ ።
a third of you shall be at the gate Sur; and a third of you at the gate behind the guard. So you shall keep the watch of the house, and be a barrier.
11:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּשְׁתֵּ֤י הַיָּדוֹת֙ בָּכֶ֔ם כֹּ֖ל יֹצְאֵ֣י הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת וְשָׁ֥מְר֛וּ אֶת ־מִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת בֵּית ־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל ־הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ׃
καὶ δύο χεῖρες ἐν ὑμῖν πᾶς ὁ ἐκπορευόμενος τὸ σάββατον καὶ φυλάξουσιν τὴν φυλακὴν οἴκου κυρίου πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα
Duae vero partes e vobis , omnes egredientes sabbato , custodiant excubias domus Domini circa regem .
ወ፪እድ ፡ እምውስቴትክሙ ፡ ለኵሉ ፡ ዘይወጽእ ፡ በዕለተ ፡ ሰንበት ፡ ወዕቀቡ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኀበ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ሀለወ ።
The two companies of you, even all who go out on the Sabbath, shall keep the watch of Yahweh’s house around the king.
11:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהִקַּפְתֶּ֨ם עַל ־הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ סָבִ֗יב אִ֚ישׁ וְכֵלָ֣יו בְּיָד֔וֹ וְהַבָּ֥א אֶל ־הַשְּׂדֵר֖וֹת יוּמָ֑ת וִֽהְי֥וּ אֶת ־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ בְּצֵאת֥וֹ וּבְבֹאֽוֹ ׃
καὶ κυκλώσατε ἐπὶ τὸν βασιλέα κύκλῳ ἀνὴρ καὶ τὸ σκεῦος αὐτοῦ ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος εἰς τὰ σαδηρωθ ἀποθανεῖται καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τοῦ βασιλέως ἐν τῷ ἐκπορεύεσθαι αὐτὸν καὶ ἐν τῷ εἰσπορεύεσθαι αὐτόν
Et vallabitis eum , habentes arma in manibus vestris : si quis autem ingressus fuerit septum templi , interficiatur : eritisque cum rege introëunte et egrediente .
ወዕግትዎ ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ ኵልክሙ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ትጸውሩ ፡ ንዋየ ፡ ሐቅልክሙ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ዘቦአ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አዴሮታ ፡ ቅትሉ ፡ ወእለኒ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ይበውኡ ፡ ወይወፅኡ ።
You shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand; and he who comes within the ranks, let him be slain. Be with the king when he goes out, and when he comes in.”
11:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֞וּ שָׂרֵ֣י (המאיות ) [הַמֵּא֗וֹת ] כְּכֹ֣ל אֲשֶׁר ־צִוָּה֮ יְהוֹיָדָ֣ע הַכֹּהֵן֒ וַיִּקְחוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת ־אֲנָשָׁ֔יו בָּאֵ֣י הַשַּׁבָּ֔ת עִ֖ם יֹצְאֵ֣י הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ אֶל ־יְהוֹיָדָ֥ע הַכֹּהֵֽן ׃
καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ ἑκατόνταρχοι πάντα ὅσα ἐνετείλατο Ιωδαε ὁ συνετός καὶ ἔλαβεν ἀνὴρ τοὺς ἄνδρας αὐτοῦ τοὺς εἰσπορευομένους τὸ σάββατον μετὰ τῶν ἐκπορευομένων τὸ σάββατον καὶ εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς Ιωδαε τὸν ἱερέα
Et fecerunt centuriones juxta omnia quae praeceperat eis Jojada sacerdos : et assumentes singuli viros suos qui ingrediebantur sabbatum , cum his qui egrediebantur sabbato , venerunt ad Jojadam sacerdotem .
ወገብሩ ፡ መሳፍንት ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘአዘዞሙ ፡ ዮዳሔ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ ወነሥኡ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ ሰብኦሙ ፡ ወአስተጋብኡ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ቦኡ ፡ በዕለተ ፡ ሰንበት ፡ ወሖሩ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ዮዳሔ ፡ ካህን ።
The captains over hundreds did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded; and they each took his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath with those who were to go out on the Sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.
11:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּתֵּ֨ן הַכֹּהֵ֜ן לְשָׂרֵ֣י (המאיות ) [הַמֵּא֗וֹת ] אֶֽת ־הַחֲנִית֙ וְאֶת ־הַשְּׁלָטִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ דָּוִ֑ד אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּבֵ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ ἱερεὺς τοῖς ἑκατοντάρχαις τοὺς σειρομάστας καὶ τοὺς τρισσοὺς τοῦ βασιλέως Δαυιδ τοὺς ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
Qui dedit eis hastas et arma regis David , quae erant in domo Domini .
ወወሀቦሙ ፡ ዮዳሔ ፡ ለመሳፍንት ፡ አርማሒሁ ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ ወንዋየ ፡ ሐቅሉ ፡ ዘሀሎ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
The priest delivered to the captains over hundreds the spears and shields that had been King David’s, which were in Yahweh’s house.
11:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעַמְד֨וּ הָרָצִ֜ים אִ֣ישׁ ׀ וְכֵלָ֣יו בְּיָד֗וֹ מִכֶּ֨תֶף הַבַּ֤יִת הַיְמָנִית֙ עַד ־כֶּ֤תֶף הַבַּ֙יִת֙ הַשְּׂמָאלִ֔ית לַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ וְלַבָּ֑יִת עַל ־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ סָבִֽיב ׃
καὶ ἔστησαν οἱ παρατρέχοντες ἀνὴρ καὶ τὸ σκεῦος αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῆς ὠμίας τοῦ οἴκου τῆς δεξιᾶς ἕως τῆς ὠμίας τοῦ οἴκου τῆς εὐωνύμου τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ τοῦ οἴκου ἐπὶ τὸν βασιλέα κύκλῳ
Et steterunt singuli habentes arma in manu sua , a parte templi dextera usque ad partem sinistram altaris et aedis , circum regem .
ወቆሙ ፡ ወዓሊሁ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ንዋየ ፡ ሐቅሎሙ ፡ መንገለ ፡ የማነ ፡ ቤት ፡ እስከ ፡ መንገለ ፡ ፀጋመ ፡ ቤት ፡ ዘምሥዋዕ ፡ ወዐገትዎ ፡ ለንጉሥ ።
The guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, along by the altar and the house, around the king.
11:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיּוֹצִ֣א אֶת ־בֶּן ־הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ וַיִּתֵּ֤ן עָלָיו֙ אֶת ־הַנֵּ֙זֶר֙ וְאֶת ־הָ֣עֵד֔וּת וַיַּמְלִ֥כוּ אֹת֖וֹ וַיִּמְשָׁחֻ֑הוּ וַיַּ֨כּוּ ־כָ֔ף וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ יְחִ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἔδωκεν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν τὸ νεζερ καὶ τὸ μαρτύριον καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἔχρισεν αὐτόν καὶ ἐκρότησαν τῇ χειρὶ καὶ εἶπαν ζήτω ὁ βασιλεύς
Produxitque filium regis , et posuit super eum diadema et testimonium : feceruntque eum regem , et unxerunt : et plaudentes manu , dixerunt : Vivat rex .
ወአውፅእዎ ፡ ለወልደ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወአልበሶ ፡ ልብሰ ፡ ኢያዜር ፡ ዘስምዕ ፡ ወአንገሦ ፡ ወቀብኦ ፡ ወጠፍሑ ፡ እደዊሆሙ ፡ ወይቤሉ ፡ ሕያው ፡ አበ ፡ ነጋሢ ።
Then he brought out the king’s son, and put the crown on him, and gave him the covenant; and they made him king and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, “Long live the king!”
11:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתִּשְׁמַ֣ע עֲתַלְיָ֔ה אֶת ־ק֥וֹל הָרָצִ֖ין הָעָ֑ם וַתָּבֹ֥א אֶל ־הָעָ֖ם בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἤκουσεν Γοθολια τὴν φωνὴν τῶν τρεχόντων τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ εἰσῆλθεν πρὸς τὸν λαὸν εἰς οἶκον κυρίου
Audivit autem Athalia vocem populi currentis : et ingressa ad turbas in templum Domini ,
ወሰምዐት ፡ ጎቶልያ ፡ ድምፀ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይረውጹ ፡ ወቦአት ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
When Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she came to the people into Yahweh’s house;
11:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתֵּ֡רֶא וְהִנֵּ֣ה הַמֶּ֩לֶךְ֩ עֹמֵ֨ד עַֽל ־הָעַמּ֜וּד כַּמִּשְׁפָּ֗ט וְהַשָּׂרִ֤ים וְהַחֲצֹֽצְרוֹת֙ אֶל ־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְכׇל ־עַ֤ם הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ שָׂמֵ֔חַ וְתֹקֵ֖עַ בַּחֲצֹֽצְר֑וֹת וַתִּקְרַ֤ע עֲתַלְיָה֙ אֶת ־בְּגָדֶ֔יהָ וַתִּקְרָ֖א קֶ֥שֶׁר קָֽשֶׁר ׃
καὶ εἶδεν καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ βασιλεὺς εἱστήκει ἐπὶ τοῦ στύλου κατὰ τὸ κρίμα καὶ οἱ ᾠδοὶ καὶ αἱ σάλπιγγες πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τῆς γῆς χαίρων καὶ σαλπίζων ἐν σάλπιγξιν καὶ διέρρηξεν Γοθολια τὰ ἱμάτια ἑαυτῆς καὶ ἐβόησεν σύνδεσμος σύνδεσμος
vidit regem stantem super tribunal juxta morem , et cantores , et tubas prope eum , omnemque populum terrae laetantem , et canentem tubis : et scidit vestimenta sua , clamavitque : Conjuratio , conjuratio .
ሪጋረከበቶ ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ ይቀውም ፡ ወያሰምክ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዐምድ ፡ በከመ ፡ ሕጎሙ ፡ ወቅድሜሁ ፡ ይነፍሑ ፡ ቀርነ ፡ ወመዝሙራተኒ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ምድር ፡ ይትፌሥሑ ፡ ወይነፍሑ ፡ ቀርነ ፡ ወሠጠጠት ፡ አልባሲሃ ፡ ጎቶልያ ፡ ወዐውየወት ፡ ወትቤ ፡ ማዕሌት ፡ መዕሌት ።
and she looked, and behold, the king stood by the pillar, as the tradition was, with the captains and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and cried, “Treason! Treason!”
11:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְצַו֩ יְהוֹיָדָ֨ע הַכֹּהֵ֜ן אֶת ־שָׂרֵ֥י (המאיות ) [הַמֵּא֣וֹת ׀] פְּקֻדֵ֣י הַחַ֗יִל וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם֙ הוֹצִ֤יאוּ אֹתָהּ֙ אֶל ־מִבֵּ֣ית לַשְּׂדֵרֹ֔ת וְהַבָּ֥א אַחֲרֶ֖יהָ הָמֵ֣ת בֶּחָ֑רֶב כִּ֚י אָמַ֣ר הַכֹּהֵ֔ן אַל ־תּוּמַ֖ת בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἐνετείλατο Ιωδαε ὁ ἱερεὺς τοῖς ἑκατοντάρχαις τοῖς ἐπισκόποις τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς ἐξαγάγετε αὐτὴν ἔσωθεν τῶν σαδηρωθ καὶ ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος ὀπίσω αὐτῆς θανάτῳ θανατωθήσεται ῥομφαίᾳ ὅτι εἶπεν ὁ ἱερεύς καὶ μὴ ἀποθάνῃ ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
Praecepit autem Jojada centurionibus qui erant super exercitum , et ait eis : Educite eam extra septa templi , et quicumque eam secutus fuerit , feriatur gladio . Dixerat enim sacerdos : Non occidatur in templo Domini .
ወአዘዞሙ ፡ ዮዳሔ ፡ ካህን ፡ ለመሳፍንት ፡ ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ለመላእክተ ፡ ሰራዊት ፡ አውፅእዋ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ አዴሮታ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ዘተለዋ ፡ ቅትልዎ ፡ በኀጺን ፡ እስመ ፡ ካህን ፡ አዘዘ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይቅትልዋ ፡ በቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Bring her out between the ranks. Kill anyone who follows her with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t let her be slain in Yahweh’s house.”
11:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּשִׂ֤מוּ לָהּ֙ יָדַ֔יִם וַתָּב֛וֹא דֶּרֶךְ ־מְב֥וֹא הַסּוּסִ֖ים בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַתּוּמַ֖ת שָֽׁם ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐπέθηκαν αὐτῇ χεῖρας καὶ εἰσῆλθεν ὁδὸν εἰσόδου τῶν ἵππων οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἐκεῖ
Imposueruntque ei manus , et impegerunt eam per viam introitus equorum , juxta palatium , et interfecta est ibi .
ወአኀዝዋ ፡ ወወሰድዋ ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ አፍራስ ፡ ዘቤተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወቀተልዋ ፡ በህየ ።
So they seized her; and she went by the way of the horses’ entry to the king’s house, and she was slain there.
11:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּכְרֹ֨ת יְהוֹיָדָ֜ע אֶֽת ־הַבְּרִ֗ית בֵּ֤ין יְהֹוָה֙ וּבֵ֤ין הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וּבֵ֣ין הָעָ֔ם לִהְי֥וֹת לְעָ֖ם לַיהֹוָ֑ה וּבֵ֥ין הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ וּבֵ֥ין הָעָֽם ׃
καὶ διέθετο Ιωδαε διαθήκην ἀνὰ μέσον κυρίου καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ λαοῦ τοῦ εἶναι εἰς λαὸν τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ λαοῦ
Pepigit ergo Jojada foedus inter Dominum , et inter regem , et inter populum , ut esset populus Domini : et inter regem et populum .
ወአስተካየደ ፡ ዮዳሔ ፡ ኪዳነ ፡ ማእካለ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወማእከለ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወማእከለ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይኩኑ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Jehoiada made a covenant between Yahweh and the king and the people, that they should be Yahweh’s people; also between the king and the people.
11:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ כׇל ־עַם֩ הָאָ֨רֶץ בֵּית ־הַבַּ֜עַל וַֽיִּתְּצֻ֗הוּ אֶת ־מִזְבְּחֹתָ֤ו וְאֶת ־צְלָמָיו֙ שִׁבְּר֣וּ הֵיטֵ֔ב וְאֵ֗ת מַתָּן֙ כֹּהֵ֣ן הַבַּ֔עַל הָרְג֖וּ לִפְנֵ֣י הַֽמִּזְבְּח֑וֹת וַיָּ֧שֶׂם הַכֹּהֵ֛ן פְּקֻדֹּ֖ת עַל ־בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ εἰσῆλθεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τῆς γῆς εἰς οἶκον τοῦ Βααλ καὶ κατέσπασαν αὐτὸν καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς εἰκόνας αὐτοῦ συνέτριψαν ἀγαθῶς καὶ τὸν Ματθαν τὸν ἱερέα τοῦ Βααλ ἀπέκτειναν κατὰ πρόσωπον τῶν θυσιαστηρίων καὶ ἔθηκεν ὁ ἱερεὺς ἐπισκόπους εἰς τὸν οἶκον κυρίου
Ingressusque est omnis populus terrae templum Baal , et destruxerunt aras ejus , et imagines contriverunt valide : Mathan quoque sacerdotem Baal occiderunt coram altari . Et posuit sacerdos custodias in domo Domini .
ወቦኡ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘብሔር ፡ ቤተ ፡ በዓል ፡ ወሰበርዎ ፡ ወነሰቱ ፡ ምሥዋዓቲሁ ፡ ወቀጥቀጡ ፡ አምሳሊሁ ፡ በሕቁ ፡ ወቀተልዎ ፡ ለማታን ፡ ለማሬ ፡ በዓል ፡ በቀድመ ፡ ምሥዋዕ ፡ ወሤመ ፡ ካህን ፡ መገብተ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
All the people of the land went to the house of Baal, and broke it down. They broke his altars and his images in pieces thoroughly, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. The priest appointed officers over Yahweh’s house.
11:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקַּ֣ח אֶת ־שָׂרֵ֣י הַ֠מֵּא֠וֹת וְאֶת ־הַכָּרִ֨י וְאֶת ־הָרָצִ֜ים וְאֵ֣ת ׀ כׇּל ־עַ֣ם הָאָ֗רֶץ וַיֹּרִ֤ידוּ אֶת ־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ מִבֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֔ה וַיָּב֛וֹאוּ דֶּרֶךְ ־שַׁ֥עַר הָרָצִ֖ים בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב עַל ־כִּסֵּ֥א הַמְּלָכִֽים ׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν τοὺς ἑκατοντάρχους καὶ τὸν Χορρι καὶ τὸν Ρασιμ καὶ πάντα τὸν λαὸν τῆς γῆς καὶ κατήγαγον τὸν βασιλέα ἐξ οἴκου κυρίου καὶ εἰσῆλθεν ὁδὸν πύλης τῶν παρατρεχόντων οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ἐκάθισαν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου τῶν βασιλέων
Tulitque centuriones , et Cerethi et Phelethi legiones , et omnem populum terrae , deduxeruntque regem de domo Domini : et venerunt per viam portae scutariorum in palatium , et sedit super thronum regum .
ወነሥኦሙ ፡ ለመሳፍንት ፡ ለኮሪ ፡ ወለራሲን ፡ ወለኵሉ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወአውጽእዎ ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ እምቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወወሰዶ ፡ እንተ ፡ አንቀጸ ፡ ፍኖቶሙ ፡ ለ [ወዐልተ ]፡ ቤተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወአንበሮ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መንበረ ፡ ነገሥት ።
He took the captains over hundreds, and the Carites, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from Yahweh’s house, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king’s house. He sat on the throne of the kings.
11:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׂמַ֥ח כׇּל ־עַם ־הָאָ֖רֶץ וְהָעִ֣יר שָׁקָ֑טָה וְאֶת ־עֲתַלְיָ֛הוּ הֵמִ֥יתוּ בַחֶ֖רֶב בֵּ֥ית (מלך ) [הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ]׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐχάρη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τῆς γῆς καὶ ἡ πόλις ἡσύχασεν καὶ τὴν Γοθολιαν ἐθανάτωσαν ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ ἐν οἴκῳ τοῦ βασιλέως
Laetatusque est omnis populus terrae , et civitas conquievit : Athalia autem occisa est gladio in domo regis .
ወተፈሥሑ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወነበረት ፡ እንከ ፡ ሀገርኒ ፡ ዳኅና ፡ ወለጎቶልያሰ ፡ ቀተልዋ ፡ በኀጺን ፡ በቤተ ፡ ንጉሥ ።
So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. They had slain Athaliah with the sword at the king’s house.
11:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ — — Septemque annorum erat Joas , cum regnare coepisset .
ወ፯ክረምቱ ፡ ለኢዮአስ ፡ አመ ፡ ይነግሥ ።
Jehoash was seven years old when he began to reign.
