14:1
בִּשְׁנַ֣ת שְׁתַּ֔יִם לְיוֹאָ֥שׁ בֶּן־יוֹאָחָ֖ז מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מָלַ֛ךְ אֲמַצְיָ֥הוּ בֶן־יוֹאָ֖שׁ מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה׃
ἐν ἔτει δευτέρῳ τῷ Ιωας υἱῷ Ιωαχας βασιλεῖ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Αμεσσιας υἱὸς Ιωας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα
In anno secundo Joas filii Joachaz regis Israël, regnavit Amasias filius Joas regis Juda.
ወአመ፡ ካልእት፡ ዓመተ፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ለዮአስ፡ ወልደ፡ ዮአክስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወነግሠ፡ አሜስያስ፡ ወልደ፡ ዮአስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ።
In the second year of Joash, son of Joahaz, king of Israel, Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah began to reign.
14:2
בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִ֨ים וְחָמֵ֤שׁ שָׁנָה֙ הָיָ֣ה בְמׇלְכ֔וֹ וְעֶשְׂרִ֤ים וָתֵ֙שַׁע֙ שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔וֹ (יהועדין) [יְהוֹעַדָּ֖ן] מִן־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
υἱὸς εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε ἐτῶν ἦν ἐν τῷ βασιλεύειν αὐτὸν καὶ εἴκοσι καὶ ἐννέα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Ιωαδιν ἐξ Ιερουσαλημ
Viginti quinque annorum erat cum regnare coepisset : viginti autem et novem annis regnavit in Jerusalem. Nomen matris ejus Joadan de Jerusalem.
፳ወ፭ክረምቱ፡ አመ፡ ይነግሥ፡ ወ፳ወ፱ክረምተ፡ ነግሠ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወስማ፡ ለእሙ፡ ዮአድሞ፡ እንተ፡ እምኢየሩሳሌም።
He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jehoaddin of Jerusalem.
14:3
וַיַּ֤עַשׂ הַיָּשָׁר֙ בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה רַ֕ק לֹ֖א כְּדָוִ֣ד אָבִ֑יו כְּכֹ֧ל אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֛ה יוֹאָ֥שׁ אָבִ֖יו עָשָֽׂה׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου πλὴν οὐχ ὡς Δαυιδ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν Ιωας ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ ἐποίησεν
Et fecit rectum coram Domino, verumtamen non ut David pater ejus. Juxta omnia quae fecit Joas pater suus, fecit :
ወገብረ፡ ጽድቀ፡ ቅድመ፡ አዕይንቲሁ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወባሕቱ፡ አኮ፡ ከመ፡ ዳዊት፡ አቡሁ፡ ወኵሎ፡ ዘከመ፡ ገብረ፡ ዮአስ፡ አቡሁ፡ ገብረ።
He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, yet not like David his father. He did according to all that Joash his father had done.
14:4
רַ֥ק הַבָּמ֖וֹת לֹא־סָ֑רוּ ע֥וֹד הָעָ֛ם מְזַבְּחִ֥ים וּֽמְקַטְּרִ֖ים בַּבָּמֽוֹת׃
πλὴν τὰ ὑψηλὰ οὐκ ἐξῆρεν ἔτι ὁ λαὸς ἐθυσίαζεν καὶ ἐθυμίων ἐν τοῖς ὑψηλοῖς
nisi hoc tantum, quod excelsa non abstulit : adhuc enim populus immolabat, et adolebat incensum in excelsis.
ወአብያተ፡ አማልክትሰ፡ ኢያሰሰለ፡ ወሕዝብኒ፡ ህየ፡ ዓዲሆሙ፡ የዐጥኑ፡ ወይሠውዑ፡ ውስተ፡ አብያተ፡ አማልክት።
However the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places.
14:5
וַיְהִ֕י כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר חָזְקָ֥ה הַמַּמְלָכָ֖ה בְּיָד֑וֹ וַיַּךְ֙ אֶת־עֲבָדָ֔יו הַמַּכִּ֖ים אֶת־הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ אָבִֽיו׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε κατίσχυσεν ἡ βασιλεία ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τοὺς δούλους αὐτοῦ τοὺς πατάξαντας τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ
Cumque obtinuisset regnum, percussit servos suos, qui interfecerant regem patrem suum :
ወሶበ፡ ጸንዐት፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ቀተሎሙ፡ ለአግብርቲሁ፡ እለ፡ ቀተልዎ፡ ለአቡሁ።
As soon as the kingdom was established in his hand, he killed his servants who had slain the king his father,
14:6
וְאֶת־בְּנֵ֥י הַמַּכִּ֖ים לֹ֣א הֵמִ֑ית כַּכָּת֣וּב בְּסֵֽפֶר־תּֽוֹרַת־מֹ֠שֶׁ֠ה אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֨ה יְהֹוָ֜ה לֵאמֹ֗ר לֹא־יוּמְת֨וּ אָב֤וֹת עַל־בָּנִים֙ וּבָנִים֙ לֹא־יוּמְת֣וּ עַל־אָב֔וֹת כִּ֛י אִם־אִ֥ישׁ בְּחֶטְא֖וֹ (ימות) [יוּמָֽת]׃
καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν παταξάντων οὐκ ἐθανάτωσεν καθὼς γέγραπται ἐν βιβλίῳ νόμων Μωυσῆ ὡς ἐνετείλατο κύριος λέγων οὐκ ἀποθανοῦνται πατέρες ὑπὲρ υἱῶν καὶ υἱοὶ οὐκ ἀποθανοῦνται ὑπὲρ πατέρων ὅτι ἀλλ’ ἢ ἕκαστος ἐν ταῖς ἁμαρτίαις αὐτοῦ ἀποθανεῖται
filios autem eorum qui occiderant, non occidit, juxta quod scriptum est in libro legis Moysi, sicut praecepit Dominus, dicens : Non morientur patres pro filiis, neque filii morientur pro patribus : sed unusquisque in peccato suo morietur.
ወደቂቆሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ቀተልዎ፡ ኢቀተሎሙ፡ እስመ፡ ከማሁ፡ ጽሑፍ፡ ውስተ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ሕጉ፡ ለሙሴ፡ ዘከመ፡ አዘዘ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይቤ፡ ኢይመውቱ፡ አበው፡ በጌጋየ፡ ውሉዶሙ፡ ወኢይመውቱ፡ ውሉድ፡ በጌጋየ፡ አበዊሆሙ ፤ ኵሉ፡ በጌጋየ፡ ዚአሁ፡ ይመውት።
but the children of the murderers he didn’t put to death, according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, as Yahweh commanded, saying, “The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin.”
14:7
הוּא־הִכָּ֨ה אֶת־אֱד֤וֹם בְּגֵי־[מֶ֙לַח֙] (המלח) עֲשֶׂ֣רֶת אֲלָפִ֔ים וְתָפַ֥שׂ אֶת־הַסֶּ֖לַע בַּמִּלְחָמָ֑ה וַיִּקְרָ֤א אֶת־שְׁמָהּ֙ יׇקְתְאֵ֔ל עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃ {פ}
αὐτὸς ἐπάταξεν τὸν Εδωμ ἐν Γαιμελε δέκα χιλιάδας καὶ συνέλαβε τὴν πέτραν ἐν τῷ πολέμῳ καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς Καθοηλ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης
Ipse percussit Edom in valle Salinarum decem millia, et apprehendit petram in praelio, vocavitque nomen ejus Jectehel usque in praesentem diem.
ወውእቱ፡ ቀተሎሙ፡ ለኤዶም፡ በርዴ፡ ፼ ብእሴ፡ ወበጽሐ፡ እስከ፡ ጸወኖሙ፡ እንዘ፡ ይቀትሎሙ፡ ወሰመዮ፡ ቀቶሔል፡ እስከ፡ ዮም።
He killed ten thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt, and took Sela by war, and called its name Joktheel, to this day.
14:8
אָ֣ז שָׁלַ֤ח אֲמַצְיָה֙ מַלְאָכִ֔ים אֶל־יְהוֹאָ֨שׁ בֶּן־יְהוֹאָחָ֧ז בֶּן־יֵה֛וּא מֶ֥לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר לְכָ֖ה נִתְרָאֶ֥ה פָנִֽים׃
τότε ἀπέστειλεν Αμεσσιας ἀγγέλους πρὸς Ιωας υἱὸν Ιωαχας υἱοῦ Ιου βασιλέως Ισραηλ λέγων δεῦρο ὀφθῶμεν προσώποις
Tunc misit Amasias nuntios ad Joas filium Joachaz filii Jehu regis Israël, dicens : Veni, et videamus nos.
ወእምዝ፡ ፈነወ፡ አሜስያስ፡ ሐዋርያተ፡ ኀበ፡ ዮአስ፡ ወልድ፡ ዮአክስ፡ ወልደ፡ ኢዩ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ እንዘ፡ ይብል፡ ነዓአ፡ ንትራአይአ፡ ገጸአ፡ በገጽአ።
Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “Come, let’s look one another in the face.”
14:9
וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח יְהוֹאָ֣שׁ מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶל־אֲמַצְיָ֣הוּ מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָה֮ לֵאמֹר֒ הַח֜וֹחַ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּלְּבָנ֗וֹן שָׁ֠לַ֠ח אֶל־הָאֶ֜רֶז אֲשֶׁ֤ר בַּלְּבָנוֹן֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר תְּנָה־אֶת־בִּתְּךָ֥ לִבְנִ֖י לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וַֽתַּעֲבֹ֞ר חַיַּ֤ת הַשָּׂדֶה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּלְּבָנ֔וֹן וַתִּרְמֹ֖ס אֶת־הַחֽוֹחַ׃
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ιωας βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ πρὸς Αμεσσιαν βασιλέα Ιουδα λέγων ὁ ακαν ὁ ἐν τῷ Λιβάνῳ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τὴν κέδρον τὴν ἐν τῷ Λιβάνῳ λέγων δὸς τὴν θυγατέρα σου τῷ υἱῷ μου εἰς γυναῖκα καὶ διῆλθον τὰ θηρία τοῦ ἀγροῦ τὰ ἐν τῷ Λιβάνῳ καὶ συνεπάτησαν τὸν ακανα
Remisitque Joas rex Israël ad Amasiam regem Juda, dicens : Carduus Libani misit ad cedrum quae est in Libano, dicens : Da filiam tuam filio meo uxorem. Transieruntque bestiae saltus quae sunt in Libano, et conculcaverunt carduum.
ወለአከ፡ ዮአስ፡ ኀበ፡ አሜስያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ እንዘ፡ ይብል፡ እቃንአ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ዕፀ፡ ሊባኖስአ፡ ለአከ፡ ኀበ፡ ዕፀ፡ ቄድሮስ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ሊባኖስ፡ እንዘ፡ ይብል፡ ሀቦአ፡ ለወልድየአ፡ ወለተከአ፡ ያውስብአ፡ ወመጽኡአ፡ አራዊተ፡ ገዳምአ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ሊባኖስአ፡ ወቀተልዎአ፡ ለአቃንአ።
Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son as wife.’ Then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by, and trampled down the thistle.
14:10
הַכֵּ֤ה הִכִּ֙יתָ֙ אֶת־אֱד֔וֹם וּֽנְשָׂאֲךָ֖ לִבֶּ֑ךָ הִכָּבֵד֙ וְשֵׁ֣ב בְּבֵיתֶ֔ךָ וְלָ֤מָּה תִתְגָּרֶה֙ בְּרָעָ֔ה וְנָ֣פַלְתָּ֔ה אַתָּ֖ה וִיהוּדָ֥ה עִמָּֽךְ׃
τύπτων ἐπάταξας τὴν Ιδουμαίαν καὶ ἐπῆρέν σε ἡ καρδία σου ἐνδοξάσθητι καθήμενος ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ σου καὶ ἵνα τί ἐρίζεις ἐν κακίᾳ σου καὶ πεσῇ σὺ καὶ Ιουδας μετὰ σοῦ
Percutiens invaluisti super Edom, et sublevavit te cor tuum : contentus esto gloria, et sede in domo tua : quare provocas malum, ut cadas tu et Judas tecum ?
እስመሁአ፡ ቀተልኮሙአ፡ ለኢዶምያስ፡ አዕበይከ፡ ልበከ፡ ወትዜኀር፡ ንቡረከ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤትከ፡ ለምንት፡ ትትዐበይ፡ በእከይከ፡ እንዘእ፡ ሀለውክሙአ፡ ትደቁአ፡ አንተኒአ፡ ወይሁዳአ፡ ምስሌከአ።
You have indeed struck Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Enjoy the glory of it, and stay at home; for why should you meddle to your harm, that you fall, even you, and Judah with you?”
14:11
וְלֹא־שָׁמַ֣ע אֲמַצְיָ֔הוּ וַיַּ֨עַל יְהוֹאָ֤שׁ מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וַיִּתְרָא֣וּ פָנִ֔ים ה֖וּא וַאֲמַצְיָ֣הוּ מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֑ה בְּבֵ֥ית שֶׁ֖מֶשׁ אֲשֶׁ֥ר לִיהוּדָֽה׃
καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν Αμεσσιας καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ ὤφθησαν προσώποις αὐτὸς καὶ Αμεσσιας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα ἐν Βαιθσαμυς τῇ τοῦ Ιουδα
Et non acquievit Amasias. Ascenditque Joas rex Israël, et viderunt se, ipse et Amasias rex Juda, in Bethsames oppido Judae.
ወአበየ፡ ሰሚዐ፡ አሜስያስ፡ ወዐርገ፡ ዮአስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወተራከበ፡ ምስለ፡ አሜስያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ በቤተ፡ ሳሚስ፡ በምድረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወተራአዩ፡ ገጸ፡ በገጽ።
But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Beth Shemesh, which belongs to Judah.
14:12
וַיִּנָּ֥גֶף יְהוּדָ֖ה לִפְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיָּנֻ֖סוּ אִ֥ישׁ לְאֹהָלָֽו׃
καὶ ἔπταισεν Ιουδας ἀπὸ προσώπου Ισραηλ καὶ ἔφυγεν ἀνὴρ εἰς τὸ σκήνωμα αὐτοῦ
Percussusque est Juda coram Israël, et fugerunt unusquisque in tabernacula sua.
ወወድቁ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ቅድመ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወጐዩ፡ ወአተዉ፡ አብያቲሆሙ።
Judah was defeated by Israel; and each man fled to his tent.
14:13
וְאֵת֩ אֲמַצְיָ֨הוּ מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֜ה בֶּן־יְהוֹאָ֣שׁ בֶּן־אֲחַזְיָ֗הוּ תָּפַ֛שׂ יְהוֹאָ֥שׁ מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּבֵ֣ית שָׁ֑מֶשׁ (ויבאו) [וַיָּבֹא֙] יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וַיִּפְרֹץ֩ בְּחוֹמַ֨ת יְרוּשָׁלַ֜͏ִם בְּשַׁ֤עַר אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ עַד־שַׁ֣עַר הַפִּנָּ֔ה אַרְבַּ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת אַמָּֽה׃
καὶ τὸν Αμεσσιαν υἱὸν Ιωας υἱοῦ Οχοζιου βασιλέα Ιουδα συνέλαβεν Ιωας υἱὸς Ιωαχας βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ ἐν Βαιθσαμυς καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ καθεῖλεν ἐν τῷ τείχει Ιερουσαλημ ἐν τῇ πύλῃ Εφραιμ ἕως πύλης τῆς γωνίας τετρακοσίους πήχεις
Amasiam vero regem Juda, filium Joas filii Ochoziae, cepit Joas rex Israël in Bethsames, et adduxit eum in Jerusalem : et interrupit murum Jerusalem, a porta Ephraim usque ad portam anguli, quadringentis cubitis.
ወለአሜስያስሰ፡ ወልደ፡ ዮአ[ስ]፡ አኀዞ፡ ዮአስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ በቤተ፡ ሳሚስ፡ ወአተወ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወሰቀሎ፡ ውስተ፡ አረፍተ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ውስተ፡ አንቀጸ፡ ኤፍሬም፡ ወሰሐበ፡ እስከ፡ አንቀጸ፡ መኣዝንት፡ ፬፻በእመት።
Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth Shemesh and came to Jerusalem, then broke down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
14:14
וְלָקַ֣ח אֶת־כׇּל־הַזָּֽהָב־וְ֠הַכֶּ֠סֶף וְאֵ֨ת כׇּל־הַכֵּלִ֜ים הַנִּמְצְאִ֣ים בֵּית־יְהֹוָ֗ה וּבְאֹֽצְרוֹת֙ בֵּ֣ית הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְאֵ֖ת בְּנֵ֣י הַתַּעֲרֻב֑וֹת וַיָּ֖שׇׁב שֹׁמְרֽוֹנָה׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν τὸ χρυσίον καὶ τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ εὑρεθέντα ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἐν θησαυροῖς οἴκου τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν συμμίξεων καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν εἰς Σαμάρειαν
Tulitque omne aurum et argentum, et universa vasa quae inventa sunt in domo Domini et in thesauris regis, et obsides, et reversus est in Samariam.
ወነሥአ፡ ወርቀ፡ ወብሩረ፡ ወኵሎ፡ ንዋየ፡ ዘተረክበ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወዘውስተ፡ መዝገበ፡ ቤተ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ወነሥአ፡ ደቀ፡ ፈላስያን፡ እለ፡ ተደመሩ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ወአተወ፡ ወተመይጠ፡ ሰማርያ።
He took all the gold and silver and all the vessels that were found in Yahweh’s house and in the treasures of the king’s house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria.
14:15
וְיֶ֩תֶר֩ דִּבְרֵ֨י יְהוֹאָ֜שׁ אֲשֶׁ֤ר עָשָׂה֙ וּגְב֣וּרָת֔וֹ וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר נִלְחַ֔ם עִ֖ם אֲמַצְיָ֣הוּ מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֑ה הֲלֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ιωας ὅσα ἐποίησεν ἐν δυναστείᾳ αὐτοῦ ἃ ἐπολέμησεν μετὰ Αμεσσιου βασιλέως Ιουδα οὐχὶ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ισραηλ
Reliqua autem verborum Joas quae fecit, et fortitudo ejus qua pugnavit contra Amasiam regem Juda, nonne haec scripta sunt in libro sermonum dierum regum Israël ?
ወኵሉ፡ ነገሩ፡ ለዮአስ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ኀይሉ፡ ወዘከመ፡ ተቃተለ፡ ምስለ፡ አሜስያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ናሁ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ዘጽሑፍ፡ ውስተ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ነቢያቲሆሙ፡ ለነገሥተ፡ እስራኤል።
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
14:16
וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב יְהוֹאָשׁ֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַיִּקָּבֵר֙ בְּשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן עִ֖ם מַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ יָרׇבְעָ֥ם בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ιωας μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ μετὰ τῶν βασιλέων Ισραηλ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Ιεροβοαμ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ
Dormivitque Joas cum patribus suis, et sepultus est in Samaria cum regibus Israël, et regnavit Jeroboam filius ejus pro eo.
ወስከበ፡ ዮአስ፡ ምስለ፡ አበዊሁ፡ ወተቀብረ፡ ውስተ፡ ሰማርያ፡ ምስለ፡ ነገሥተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወነግሠ፡ ኢዮራብዓም፡ ወልዱ፡ ህየንቴሁ።
Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his place.
14:17
וַיְחִ֨י אֲמַצְיָ֤הוּ בֶן־יוֹאָשׁ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה אַחֲרֵ֣י מ֔וֹת יְהוֹאָ֥שׁ בֶּן־יְהוֹאָחָ֖ז מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל חֲמֵ֥שׁ עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה שָׁנָֽה׃
καὶ ἔζησεν Αμεσσιας υἱὸς Ιωας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανεῖν Ιωας υἱὸν Ιωαχας βασιλέα Ισραηλ πεντεκαίδεκα ἔτη
Vixit autem Amasias filius Joas rex Juda postquam mortuus est Joas filius Joachaz regis Israël, quindecim annis.
ወሐይወ፡ አሜስያስ፡ ወልደ፡ ዮአስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወእምድኅረ፡ ሞተ፡ ወልደ፡ ዮአክስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ፲ወ፭ዓመተ።
Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel, fifteen years.
14:18
וְיֶ֖תֶר דִּבְרֵ֣י אֲמַצְיָ֑הוּ הֲלֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתֻבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Αμεσσιου καὶ πάντα ἃ ἐποίησεν οὐχὶ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ιουδα
Reliqua autem sermonum Amasiae, nonne haec scripta sunt in libro sermonum dierum regum Juda ?
ወኵሉ፡ ነገሩ፡ በአሜስያስ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ዘገብረ፡ ናሁ፡ ዝውእቱ፡ ዘጽሑፍ፡ ውስተ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ነቢያቲሆሙ፡ ለነገሥተ፡ ይሁዳ።

14:19
וַיִּקְשְׁר֨וּ עָלָ֥יו קֶ֛שֶׁר בִּירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם וַיָּ֣נׇס לָכִ֑ישָׁה וַיִּשְׁלְח֤וּ אַחֲרָיו֙ לָכִ֔ישָׁה וַיְמִתֻ֖הוּ שָֽׁם׃
καὶ συνεστράφησαν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν σύστρεμμα ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἔφυγεν εἰς Λαχις καὶ ἀπέστειλαν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ εἰς Λαχις καὶ ἐθανάτωσαν αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ
Factaque est contra eum conjuratio in Jerusalem : at ille fugit in Lachis. Miseruntque post eum in Lachis, et interfecerunt eum ibi :
ወዐለውዎ፡ ማዕሌተ፡ ሰብአ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወተኀጥአ፡ እምህየ፡ ውስተ፡ ለኪስ፡ ወለአከ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ለኪስ፡ ወአዴገኖ፡ ወቀተሎ፡ በህየ።
They made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish and killed him there.
14:20
וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ אֹת֖וֹ עַל־הַסּוּסִ֑ים וַיִּקָּבֵ֧ר בִּירוּשָׁלַ֛͏ִם עִם־אֲבֹתָ֖יו בְּעִ֥יר דָּוִֽד׃
καὶ ἦραν αὐτὸν ἐφ’ ἵππων καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν Ιερουσαλημ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ
et asportaverunt in equis, sepultusque est in Jerusalem cum patribus suis in civitate David.
ወጸዐንዎ፡ በድኖ፡ ውስተ፡ አፍራስ፡ ወቀበርዎ፡ ውስተ፡ ኢየሩሳልም፡ ምስለ፡ አበዊሁ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገረ፡ ዳዊት።
They brought him on horses, and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in David’s city.
14:21
וַיִּקְח֞וּ כׇּל־עַ֤ם יְהוּדָה֙ אֶת־עֲזַרְיָ֔ה וְה֕וּא בֶּן־שֵׁ֥שׁ עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה שָׁנָ֑ה וַיַּמְלִ֣כוּ אֹת֔וֹ תַּ֖חַת אָבִ֥יו אֲמַצְיָֽהוּ׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς Ιουδα τὸν Αζαριαν καὶ αὐτὸς υἱὸς ἑκκαίδεκα ἐτῶν καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν αὐτὸν ἀντὶ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ Αμεσσιου
Tulit autem universus populus Judae Azariam annos natum sedecim, et constituerunt eum regem pro patre ejus Amasia.
ወአኀዝዎ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ሕዝበ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ለአዛርያስ፡ አሜሃ፡ እንዘ፡ ፲ወ፮ክረምቱ፡ ወአንገሥዎ፡ ህየንተ፡ አሜስያስ፡ አቡሁ ።
All the people of Judah took Azariah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.
14:22
ה֚וּא בָּנָ֣ה אֶת־אֵילַ֔ת וַיְשִׁבֶ֖הָ לִֽיהוּדָ֑ה אַחֲרֵ֥י שְׁכַֽב־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ עִם־אֲבֹתָֽיו׃ {פ}
αὐτὸς ᾠκοδόμησεν τὴν Αιλωθ καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν αὐτὴν τῷ Ιουδα μετὰ τὸ κοιμηθῆναι τὸν βασιλέα μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ
Ipse aedificavit Aelath, et restituit eam Judae, postquam dormivit rex cum patribus suis.
ወውእቱ፡ ሐነጻ፡ ለኤላም፡ ወአስተጋብኣ፡ ለይሁዳ፡ እምድኅረ፡ ሰከበ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ምስለ፡ አበዊሁ።
He built Elath and restored it to Judah. After that the king slept with his fathers.
14:23
בִּשְׁנַת֙ חֲמֵשׁ־עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֔ה לַאֲמַצְיָ֥הוּ בֶן־יוֹאָ֖שׁ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה מָ֠לַ֠ךְ יָרׇבְעָ֨ם בֶּן־יוֹאָ֤שׁ מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ בְּשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וְאַחַ֖ת שָׁנָֽה׃
ἐν ἔτει πεντεκαιδεκάτῳ τοῦ Αμεσσιου υἱοῦ Ιωας βασιλέως Ιουδα ἐβασίλευσεν Ιεροβοαμ υἱὸς Ιωας ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ τεσσαράκοντα καὶ ἓν ἔτος
Anno quintodecimo Amasiae filii Joas regis Juda, regnavit Jeroboam filius Joas regis Israël in Samaria, quadraginta et uno anno.
ወአመ፡ ፲ወ፭ዓመተ፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ለአሜስያስ፡ ወልደ፡ ዮአስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ነግሠ፡ ኢዮርብዓም፡ ወልደ፡ ዮአስ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ በሰማርያ፡ ፵ወ፩ክረምተ፡ ነግሠ።
In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria for forty-one years.
14:24
וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה לֹ֣א סָ֗ר מִכׇּל־חַטֹּאות֙ יָרׇבְעָ֣ם בֶּן־נְבָ֔ט אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶחֱטִ֖יא אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου οὐκ ἀπέστη ἀπὸ πασῶν ἁμαρτιῶν Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ ὃς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ
Et fecit quod malum est coram Domino : non recessit ab omnibus peccatis Jeroboam filii Nabat, qui peccare fecit Israël.
ወገብረ፡ እኩየ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወኢኀደገ፡ ኵሎ፡ ኀጢአቶ፡ ለኢዮራብዓም፡ ወልደ፡ ናባጥ፡ ዘአስሐቶሙ፡ ለእስራኤል።
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight. He didn’t depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.
14:25
ה֗וּא הֵשִׁיב֙ אֶת־גְּב֣וּל יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִלְּב֥וֹא חֲמָ֖ת עַד־יָ֣ם הָעֲרָבָ֑ה כִּדְבַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֗ר בְּיַד־עַבְדּ֞וֹ יוֹנָ֤ה בֶן־אֲמִתַּי֙ הַנָּבִ֔יא אֲשֶׁ֖ר מִגַּ֥ת הַחֵֽפֶר׃
αὐτὸς ἀπέστησεν τὸ ὅριον Ισραηλ ἀπὸ εἰσόδου Αιμαθ ἕως τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς Αραβα κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου θεοῦ Ισραηλ ὃ ἐλάλησεν ἐν χειρὶ δούλου αὐτοῦ Ιωνα υἱοῦ Αμαθι τοῦ προφήτου τοῦ ἐκ Γεθχοβερ
Ipse restituit terminos Israël ab introitu Emath usque ad mare solitudinis, juxta sermonem Domini Dei Israël quem locutus est per servum suum Jonam filium Amathi prophetam, qui erat de Geth, quae est in Opher.
ውእቱ፡ አቀመ፡ ደወሎሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ እምፍኖተ፡ ኤማት፡ እስከ፡ ባሕር፡ ዘዐረብ፡ በከመ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ዘከመ፡ ነበበ፡ በእደ፡ ገብሩ፡ ዮሐና፡ ወልደ፡ አማቴ፡ ነቢይ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ጌድ፡ ዘኮቤር።
He restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath to the sea of the Arabah, according to Yahweh, the God of Israel’s word, which he spoke by his servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was from Gath Hepher.
14:26
כִּי־רָאָ֧ה יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶת־עֳנִ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֹרֶ֣ה מְאֹ֑ד וְאֶ֤פֶס עָצוּר֙ וְאֶ֣פֶס עָז֔וּב וְאֵ֥ין עֹזֵ֖ר לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
ὅτι εἶδεν κύριος τὴν ταπείνωσιν Ισραηλ πικρὰν σφόδρα καὶ ὀλιγοστοὺς συνεχομένους καὶ ἐσπανισμένους καὶ ἐγκαταλελειμμένους καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ βοηθῶν τῷ Ισραηλ
Vidit enim Dominus afflictionem Israël amaram nimis, et quod consumpti essent usque ad clausos carcere et extremos, et non esset qui auxiliaretur Israëli.
እስመ፡ ርእየ፡ ሕማሞሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለእስራኤል፡ መራር፡ ፈድፋደ፡ ወውኅዱሂ፡ ወተገድፉሂ፡ ወኀጥኡ፡ ዘይረድኦሙ፡ ለእስራኤል።
For Yahweh saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter for all, slave and free; and there was no helper for Israel.
14:27
וְלֹא־דִבֶּ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה לִמְחוֹת֙ אֶת־שֵׁ֣ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִתַּ֖חַת הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וַיּ֣וֹשִׁיעֵ֔ם בְּיַ֖ד יָרׇבְעָ֥ם בֶּן־יוֹאָֽשׁ׃
καὶ οὐκ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐξαλεῖψαι τὸ σπέρμα Ισραηλ ὑποκάτωθεν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτοὺς διὰ χειρὸς Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ιωας
Nec locutus est Dominus ut deleret nomen Israël de sub caelo, sed salvavit eos in manu Jeroboam filii Joas.
ወኢነበበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ይደምስስ፡ ዘርኦሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ እምታሕተ፡ ሰማይ፡ ወአድኀኖሙ፡ [በ]እደ፡ ኢዮርብዓም፡ ወልደ፡ ዮአስ።
Yahweh didn’t say that he would blot out the name of Israel from under the sky; but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
14:28
וְיֶ֩תֶר֩ דִּבְרֵ֨י יָרׇבְעָ֜ם וְכׇל־אֲשֶׁ֤ר עָשָׂה֙ וּגְבוּרָת֣וֹ אֲשֶׁר־נִלְחָ֔ם וַאֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵשִׁ֜יב אֶת־דַּמֶּ֧שֶׂק וְאֶת־חֲמָ֛ת לִיהוּדָ֖ה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל הֲלֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ιεροβοαμ καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν καὶ αἱ δυναστεῖαι αὐτοῦ ὅσα ἐπολέμησεν καὶ ὅσα ἐπέστρεψεν τὴν Δαμασκὸν καὶ τὴν Αιμαθ τῷ Ιουδα ἐν Ισραηλ οὐχὶ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ισραηλ
Reliqua autem sermonum Jeroboam, et universa quae fecit, et fortitudo ejus qua praeliatus est, et quomodo restituit Damascum et Emath Judae in Israël, nonne haec scripta sunt in libro sermonum dierum regum Israël ?
ወኵሉ፡ ነንሩ፡ ለኢዮራብዓም፡ ወኵሉ፡ ዘንብረ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ኀይሉ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ፀብኡ፡ ወዘከመ፡ አስተጋብኦሙ፡ ለኤማት፡ ወለደማስቆ፡ አምእስራኤል፡ ለይሁዳ፡ ናሁ፡ ዝውእቱ፡ ዘጽሑፍ፡ ውስተ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ነቢያቲሆሙ፡ ለነገሥተ፡ እስራኤል።
Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he fought, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which had belonged to Judah, for Israel, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
14:29
וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב יָֽרׇבְעָם֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו עִ֖ם מַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ זְכַרְיָ֥ה בְנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ιεροβοαμ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ μετὰ βασιλέων Ισραηλ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Αζαριας υἱὸς Αμεσσιου ἀντὶ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ
Dormivitque Jeroboam cum patribus suis regibus Israël, et regnavit Zacharias filius ejus pro eo.
ወሰከበ፡ ኢዮርብዓም፡ ምስለ፡ አበዊሁ፡ ምስለ፡ ነገሥተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወነግሠ፡ አዜከርያስ፡ ወልዱ፡ ህየንቴሁ።
Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zechariah his son reigned in his place.
