22:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ בֶּן ־שְׁמֹנֶ֤ה שָׁנָה֙ יֹאשִׁיָּ֣הוּ בְמׇלְכ֔וֹ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֤ים וְאַחַת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔וֹ יְדִידָ֥ה בַת ־עֲדָיָ֖ה מִבָּֽצְקַֽת ׃
υἱὸς ὀκτὼ ἐτῶν Ιωσιας ἐν τῷ βασιλεύειν αὐτὸν καὶ τριάκοντα καὶ ἓν ἔτος ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ Ιεδιδα θυγάτηρ Εδεϊα ἐκ Βασουρωθ
Octo annorum erat Josias cum regnare coepisset : triginta et uno anno regnavit in Jerusalem : nomen matris ejus Idida filia Hadaia de Besecath .
ወሰማኒ ፡ ክረምቱ ፡ ለዮስያስ ፡ አመ ፡ ይነግሥ ፡ ወ ፡ ፴ወ፩ክረምተ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ወስማ ፡ ለእሙ ፡ ይሄድያ ፡ ወለተ ፡ ኤዶና ፡ እንተ ፡ እምባሱሮት ።
Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
22:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הַיָּשָׁ֖ר בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ בְּכׇל ־דֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ דָּוִ֣ד אָבִ֔יו וְלֹא ־סָ֖ר יָמִ֥ין וּשְׂמֹֽאול ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐν πάσῃ ὁδῷ Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἀπέστη δεξιὰ ἢ ἀριστερά
Fecitque quod placitum erat coram Domino , et ambulavit per omnes vias David patris sui : non declinavit ad dexteram , sive ad sinistram .
ወገብረ ፡ ጽድቀ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በቅድመ ፡ አዕይንቲሁ ፡ ወሖረ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ አቡሁ ፡ ወኢተግሕሠ ፡ ኢለየማን ፡ ወኢለፀጋም ።
He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, and walked in all the ways of David his father, and didn’t turn away to the right hand or to the left.
22:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֗י בִּשְׁמֹנֶ֤ה עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ יֹאשִׁיָּ֑הוּ שָׁלַ֣ח הַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ אֶת ־שָׁפָ֨ן בֶּן ־אֲצַלְיָ֤הוּ בֶן ־מְשֻׁלָּם֙ הַסֹּפֵ֔ר בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ ὀκτωκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει τῷ βασιλεῖ Ιωσια ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ ὀγδόῳ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τὸν Σαφφαν υἱὸν Εσελιου υἱοῦ Μεσολλαμ τὸν γραμματέα οἴκου κυρίου λέγων
Anno autem octavodecimo regis Josiae , misit rex Saphan filium Aslia filii Messulam scribam templi Domini , dicens ei :
ወአመ ፡ ፲ወ፰ዓመተ ፡ መንግሥቱ ፡ ለዮስያስ ፡ አመ ፡ ሳምን ፡ ወርኅ ፡ ፈነዎ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ለሶፋን ፡ ወልደ ፡ ኤሴልዩ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሜሰላም ፡ ጸሓፌ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፤
In the eighteenth year of King Josiah, the king sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to Yahweh’s house, saying,
22:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ עֲלֵ֗ה אֶל ־חִלְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙ הַכֹּהֵ֣ן הַגָּד֔וֹל וְיַתֵּ֣ם אֶת ־הַכֶּ֔סֶף הַמּוּבָ֖א בֵּ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָסְפ֛וּ שֹׁמְרֵ֥י הַסַּ֖ף מֵאֵ֥ת הָעָֽם ׃
ἀνάβηθι πρὸς Χελκιαν τὸν ἱερέα τὸν μέγαν καὶ σφράγισον τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εἰσενεχθὲν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου ὃ συνήγαγον οἱ φυλάσσοντες τὸν σταθμὸν παρὰ τοῦ λαοῦ
Vade ad Helciam sacerdotem magnum , ut confletur pecunia quae illata est in templum Domini , quam collegerunt janitores templi a populo :
ዕርግአ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኬልቅዩአ ፡ ካህን ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ወኅትም ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ዘቦኦ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘአስተጋብኡ ፡ እለ ፡ የዐቅቡ ፡ መዳልዎሙ ፡ ለሕዝብ ።
“Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may count the money which is brought into Yahweh’s house, which the keepers of the threshold have gathered of the people.
22:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ (ויתנה ) [וְיִתְּנוּ֗הוּ ] עַל ־יַד֙ עֹשֵׂ֣י הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה הַמֻּפְקָדִ֖ים (בבית ) [בֵּ֣ית ] יְהֹוָ֑ה וְיִתְּנ֣וּ אֹת֗וֹ לְעֹשֵׂ֤י הַמְּלָאכָה֙ אֲשֶׁר֙ בְּבֵ֣ית יְהֹוָ֔ה לְחַזֵּ֖ק בֶּ֥דֶק הַבָּֽיִת ׃
καὶ δότωσαν αὐτὸ ἐπὶ χεῖρα ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα τῶν καθεσταμένων ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸ τοῖς ποιοῦσιν τὰ ἔργα τοῖς ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου τοῦ κατισχῦσαι τὸ βεδεκ τοῦ οἴκου
deturque fabris per praepositos domus Domini , qui et distribuant eam his qui operantur in templo Domini , ad instauranda sartatecta templi :
ወአወፍይዎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ያገብሩ ፡ ግብረ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በዘይጼንዑ ፡ ቤዴቀ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ቤት ፤
Let them deliver it into the hand of the workers who have the oversight of Yahweh’s house; and let them give it to the workers who are in Yahweh’s house, to repair the damage to the house,
22:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֶחָ֣רָשִׁ֔ים וְלַבֹּנִ֖ים וְלַגֹּֽדְרִ֑ים וְלִקְנ֤וֹת עֵצִים֙ וְאַבְנֵ֣י מַחְצֵ֔ב לְחַזֵּ֖ק אֶת ־הַבָּֽיִת ׃
τοῖς τέκτοσιν καὶ τοῖς οἰκοδόμοις καὶ τοῖς τειχισταῖς καὶ τοῦ κτήσασθαι ξύλα καὶ λίθους λατομητοὺς τοῦ κραταιῶσαι τὸ βεδεκ τοῦ οἴκου
tignariis videlicet et caementariis , et iis qui interrupta componunt : et ut emantur ligna , et lapides de lapicidinis , ad instaurandum templum Domini .
ለጸረብት ፡ ወለነደቅት ፡ ወለእስ ፡ ይገብሩ ፡ አረፍተ ፡ በዘ ፡ ይሣየጡ ፡ ዕፀወ ፡ ወእብነ ፡ ውቅሮ ፡ በዘይጼንዕዎ ፡ ለቤዴቅ ፡ ለቤቱ ።
to the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the house.
22:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ אַ֚ךְ לֹא ־יֵחָשֵׁ֣ב אִתָּ֔ם הַכֶּ֖סֶף הַנִּתָּ֣ן עַל ־יָדָ֑ם כִּ֥י בֶאֱמוּנָ֖ה הֵ֥ם עֹשִֽׂים ׃
πλὴν οὐκ ἐξελογίζοντο αὐτοὺς τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ διδόμενον αὐτοῖς ὅτι ἐν πίστει αὐτοὶ ποιοῦσιν
Verumtamen non supputetur eis argentum quod accipiunt , sed in potestate habeant , et in fide .
ወኢይትሓሰብዎሙ ፡ ወርቆ ፡ ዘወሀብውሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ በሃይማኖት ፡ ይገብሩ ።
However, no accounting shall be asked of them for the money delivered into their hand, for they deal faithfully.”
22:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֠יֹּ֠אמֶר חִלְקִיָּ֜הוּ הַכֹּהֵ֤ן הַגָּדוֹל֙ עַל ־שָׁפָ֣ן הַסֹּפֵ֔ר סֵ֧פֶר הַתּוֹרָ֛ה מָצָ֖אתִי בְּבֵ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה וַיִּתֵּ֨ן חִלְקִיָּ֧ה אֶת ־הַסֵּ֛פֶר אֶל ־שָׁפָ֖ן וַיִּקְרָאֵֽהוּ ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεὺς ὁ μέγας πρὸς Σαφφαν τὸν γραμματέα βιβλίον τοῦ νόμου εὗρον ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκεν Χελκιας τὸ βιβλίον πρὸς Σαφφαν καὶ ἀνέγνω αὐτό
Dixit autem Helcias pontifex ad Saphan scribam : Librum legis reperi in domo Domini . Deditque Helcias volumen Saphan , qui et legit illud .
ወይቤሎ ፡ ኬልቅዩ ፡ ካህን ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ለሳፋን ፡ ጸሓፊ ፡ አንብብ ፡ ሎቱ ።
Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the book of the law in Yahweh’s house.” Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
22:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֹ֞א שָׁפָ֤ן הַסֹּפֵר֙ אֶל ־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיָּ֥שֶׁב אֶת ־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ דָּבָ֑ר וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הִתִּ֤יכוּ עֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶת ־הַכֶּ֙סֶף֙ הַנִּמְצָ֣א בַבַּ֔יִת וַֽיִּתְּנֻ֗הוּ עַל ־יַד֙ עֹשֵׂ֣י הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה הַמֻּפְקָדִ֖ים בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Ιωσιαν καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν τῷ βασιλεῖ ῥῆμα καὶ εἶπεν ἐχώνευσαν οἱ δοῦλοί σου τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ κυρίου καὶ ἔδωκαν αὐτὸ ἐπὶ χεῖρα ποιούντων τὰ ἔργα τῶν καθεσταμένων ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
Venit quoque Saphan scriba ad regem , et renuntiavit ei quod praeceperat , et ait : Conflaverunt servi tui pecuniam quae reperta est in domo Domini , et dederunt ut distribueretur fabris a praefectis operum templi Domini .
ወቦአ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኀበ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወአግብአ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ መልእክቶ ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ ወይቤ [ሎ ]፡ ሰበክዎ ፡ አግብርቲከ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ብሩር ፡ ዘተረክበ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወወሀብዎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይገብሩ ፡ ግብረ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, “Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hands of the workmen who have the oversight of Yahweh’s house.”
22:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּגֵּ֞ד שָׁפָ֤ן הַסֹּפֵר֙ לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ לֵאמֹ֔ר סֵ֚פֶר נָ֣תַן לִ֔י חִלְקִיָּ֖ה הַכֹּהֵ֑ן וַיִּקְרָאֵ֥הוּ שָׁפָ֖ן לִפְנֵ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Σαφφαν ὁ γραμματεὺς πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα λέγων βιβλίον ἔδωκέν μοι Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεύς καὶ ἀνέγνω αὐτὸ Σαφφαν ἐνώπιον τοῦ βασιλέως
Narravit quoque Saphan scriba regi , dicens : Librum dedit mihi Helcias sacerdos . Quem cum legisset Saphan coram rege ,
ወይቤሎ ፡ ሳፋን ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ሕግ ፡ ወሀበኒ ፡ ኬልቅዩ ፡ ካህን ፡ ወአንበባ ፡ ሳፋን ፡ በቅድመ ፡ ንጉሥ ።
Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, “Hilkiah the priest has delivered a book to me.” Then Shaphan read it before the king.
22:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיְהִי֙ כִּשְׁמֹ֣עַ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֶת ־דִּבְרֵ֖י סֵ֣פֶר הַתּוֹרָ֑ה וַיִּקְרַ֖ע אֶת ־בְּגָדָֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς τοὺς λόγους τοῦ βιβλίου τοῦ νόμου καὶ διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια ἑαυτοῦ
et audisset rex verba libri legis Domini , scidit vestimenta sua .
ወሶበ ፡ ሰምዓ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ ዘሕግ ፡ ሠጠጠ ፡ አልባሲሁ ።
When the king had heard the words of the book of the law, he tore his clothes.
22:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְצַ֣ו הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ אֶת ־חִלְקִיָּ֣ה הַכֹּהֵ֡ן וְאֶת ־אֲחִיקָ֣ם בֶּן ־שָׁ֠פָ֠ן וְאֶת ־עַכְבּ֨וֹר בֶּן ־מִיכָיָ֜ה וְאֵ֣ת ׀ שָׁפָ֣ן הַסֹּפֵ֗ר וְאֵ֛ת עֲשָׂיָ֥ה עֶֽבֶד ־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ לֵאמֹֽר ׃
καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ Χελκια τῷ ἱερεῖ καὶ τῷ Αχικαμ υἱῷ Σαφφαν καὶ τῷ Αχοβωρ υἱῷ Μιχαιου καὶ τῷ Σαφφαν τῷ γραμματεῖ καὶ τῷ Ασαια δούλῳ τοῦ βασιλέως λέγων
Et praecepit Helciae sacerdoti , et Ahicam filio Saphan , et Achobor filio Micha , et Saphan scribae , et Asaiae servo regis , dicens :
ወአዘዞ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ለኬልቅያስ ፡ ካህን ፡ ወለአኪቃም ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሳፋን ፡ ወለአክባር ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሚክዩ ፡ ወለሶፋን ፡ ጸሓፊ ፡ ወለአስያ ፡ ገብረ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወይቤሎሙ ፤
The king commanded Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam the son of Shaphan, Achbor the son of Micaiah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying,
22:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ לְכוּ֩ דִרְשׁ֨וּ אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֜ה בַּעֲדִ֣י וּבְעַד ־הָעָ֗ם וּבְעַד֙ כׇּל ־יְהוּדָ֔ה עַל ־דִּבְרֵ֛י הַסֵּ֥פֶר הַנִּמְצָ֖א הַזֶּ֑ה כִּֽי ־גְדוֹלָ֞ה חֲמַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁר ־הִיא֙ נִצְּתָ֣ה בָ֔נוּ עַל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹֽא ־שָׁמְע֜וּ אֲבֹתֵ֗ינוּ עַל ־דִּבְרֵי֙ הַסֵּ֣פֶר הַזֶּ֔ה לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת כְּכׇל ־הַכָּת֥וּב עָלֵֽינוּ ׃
δεῦτε ἐκζητήσατε τὸν κύριον περὶ ἐμοῦ καὶ περὶ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ περὶ παντὸς τοῦ Ιουδα περὶ τῶν λόγων τοῦ βιβλίου τοῦ εὑρεθέντος τούτου ὅτι μεγάλη ἡ ὀργὴ κυρίου ἡ ἐκκεκαυμένη ἐν ἡμῖν ὑπὲρ οὗ οὐκ ἤκουσαν οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν τῶν λόγων τοῦ βιβλίου τούτου τοῦ ποιεῖν κατὰ πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα καθ’ ἡμῶν
Ite et consulite Dominum super me , et super populo , et super omni Juda , de verbis voluminis istius , quod inventum est : magna enim ira Domini succensa est contra nos , quia non audierunt patres nostri verba libri hujus , ut facerent omne quod scriptum est nobis .
ንዑ ፡ አስተብቍዕዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በእንቲአየ ፡ ወበእንተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ወእንበይነ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ቃላ ፡ ለዛቲ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ እስመ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ መዐተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘተረክበ ፡ ላዕሌነ ፡ ይነድድ ፡ እሳት ፤ ኢሰምዑ ፡ አበዊነ ፡ ቃላ ፡ ለዛቲ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ ወኢገብሩ ፡ ሕጎሙ ፡ ዘጽሑፍ ።
“Go inquire of Yahweh for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is Yahweh’s wrath that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this book, to do according to all that which is written concerning us.”
22:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ חִלְקִיָּ֣הוּ הַ֠כֹּהֵ֠ן וַאֲחִיקָ֨ם וְעַכְבּ֜וֹר וְשָׁפָ֣ן וַעֲשָׂיָ֗ה אֶל ־חֻלְדָּ֨ה הַנְּבִיאָ֜ה אֵ֣שֶׁת ׀ שַׁלֻּ֣ם בֶּן ־תִּקְוָ֗ה בֶּן ־חַרְחַס֙ שֹׁמֵ֣ר הַבְּגָדִ֔ים וְהִ֛יא יֹשֶׁ֥בֶת בִּירוּשָׁלַ֖͏ִם בַּמִּשְׁנֶ֑ה וַֽיְדַבְּר֖וּ אֵלֶֽיהָ ׃
καὶ ἐπορεύθη Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ Αχικαμ καὶ Αχοβωρ καὶ Σαφφαν καὶ Ασαιας πρὸς Ολδαν τὴν προφῆτιν γυναῖκα Σελλημ υἱοῦ Θεκουε υἱοῦ Αραας τοῦ ἱματιοφύλακος καὶ αὐτὴ κατῴκει ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐν τῇ μασενα καὶ ἐλάλησαν πρὸς αὐτήν
Ierunt itaque Helcias sacerdos , et Ahicam , et Achobor , et Sapham , et Asaia , ad Holdam prophetidem , uxorem Sellum filii Thecuae filii Araas custodis vestium , quae habitabat in Jerusalem in Secunda : locutique sunt ad eam .
ወሖረ ፡ ኬልቅያስ ፡ ካህን ፡ ወአኪቃም ፡ ወአክባር ፡ ወሶፋን ፡ ወአሶያስ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሕልደና ፡ ነቢይት ፡ እሙ ፡ ለሴሌም ፡ ወልደ ፡ ቴቄሀው ፡ ወልደ ፡ አድራስ ፡ ዐቃቤ ፡ አልባስ ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ሀለወት ፡ ህየ ፡ ምንባራ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምናሴ ፡ ወነገርዋ ።
So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Achbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter); and they talked with her.
22:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם כֹּה ־אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִמְר֣וּ לָאִ֔ישׁ אֲשֶׁר ־שָׁלַ֥ח אֶתְכֶ֖ם אֵלָֽי ׃
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ εἴπατε τῷ ἀνδρὶ τῷ ἀποστείλαντι ὑμᾶς πρός με
Et illa respondit eis : Haec dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Dicite viro qui misit vos ad me :
ወትቤሎሙ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ በልዎ ፡ ለብእሲ ፡ ዘፈነወክሙ ፡ ኀቤየ ፤
She said to them, “Yahweh the God of Israel says, ‘Tell the man who sent you to me,
22:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה הִנְנִ֨י מֵבִ֥יא רָעָ֛ה אֶל ־הַמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה וְעַל ־יֹֽשְׁבָ֑יו אֵ֚ת כׇּל ־דִּבְרֵ֣י הַסֵּ֔פֶר אֲשֶׁ֥ר קָרָ֖א מֶ֥לֶךְ יְהוּדָֽה ׃
τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω κακὰ ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τοῦτον καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐνοικοῦντας αὐτόν πάντας τοὺς λόγους τοῦ βιβλίου οὓς ἀνέγνω βασιλεὺς Ιουδα
Haec dicit Dominus : Ecce ego adducam mala super locum istum , et super habitatores ejus , omnia verba legis quae legit rex Juda :
ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔርአ ፡ ናሁ ፡ አነአ ፡ ኣመጽእአ ፡ እኪተ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ዝብሔር ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስቴቱ ፡ ኵሎአ ፡ ቃለአ ፡ ዘሀሎ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ ዘአንበበ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ይሁዳ ።
“Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I will bring evil on this place and on its inhabitants, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read.
22:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ תַּ֣חַת ׀ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֲזָב֗וּנִי וַֽיְקַטְּרוּ֙ לֵאלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים לְמַ֙עַן֙ הַכְעִיסֵ֔נִי בְּכֹ֖ל מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יְדֵיהֶ֑ם וְנִצְּתָ֧ה חֲמָתִ֛י בַּמָּק֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה וְלֹ֥א תִכְבֶּֽה ׃
ἀνθ’ ὧν ἐγκατέλιπόν με καὶ ἐθυμίων θεοῖς ἑτέροις ὅπως παροργίσωσίν με ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐκκαυθήσεται ὁ θυμός μου ἐν τῷ τόπῳ τούτῳ καὶ οὐ σβεσθήσεται
quia dereliquerunt me , et sacrificaverunt diis alienis , irritantes me in cunctis operibus manuum suarum : et succendetur indignatio mea in loco hoc , et non extinguetur .
እስመ ፡ ኀደግሙኒ ፡ ወዐጠንክሙ ፡ ለባዕድ ፡ አማልክት ፡ ከመ ፡ ታምዕዑኒ ፡ በግብረ ፡ እደዊክሙ ፡ ወትነድድአ ፡ መዐትየ ፡ ውስተዝ ፡ ብሔር ፡ ወኢያጠፍእአ ።
Because they have forsaken me and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched.’”
22:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאֶל ־מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֗ה הַשֹּׁלֵ֤חַ אֶתְכֶם֙ לִדְרֹ֣שׁ אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֔ה כֹּ֥ה תֹאמְר֖וּ אֵלָ֑יו כֹּֽה ־אָמַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַדְּבָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמָֽעְתָּ ׃
καὶ πρὸς βασιλέα Ιουδα τὸν ἀποστείλαντα ὑμᾶς ἐπιζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον τάδε ἐρεῖτε πρὸς αὐτόν τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ οἱ λόγοι οὓς ἤκουσας
Regi autem Juda , qui misit vos ut consuleretis Dominum , sic dicetis : Haec dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Pro eo quod audisti verba voluminis ,
ወላዕለ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ዘፈነወክሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትሰእሉ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔርአ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ በልዎአ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ዝቃል ፡ ዘሰማዕከ ፤
But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Yahweh, tell him, “Yahweh the God of Israel says, ‘Concerning the words which you have heard,
22:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ יַ֠עַן רַךְ ־לְבָ֨בְךָ֜ וַתִּכָּנַ֣ע ׀ מִפְּנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֗ה בְּֽשׇׁמְעֲךָ֡ אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבַּ֩רְתִּי֩ עַל ־הַמָּק֨וֹם הַזֶּ֜ה וְעַל ־יֹשְׁבָ֗יו לִֽהְי֤וֹת לְשַׁמָּה֙ וְלִקְלָלָ֔ה וַתִּקְרַע֙ אֶת ־בְּגָדֶ֔יךָ וַתִּבְכֶּ֖ה לְפָנָ֑י וְגַ֧ם אָנֹכִ֛י שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָֽה ׃
ἀνθ’ ὧν ὅτι ἡπαλύνθη ἡ καρδία σου καὶ ἐνετράπης ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου ὡς ἤκουσας ὅσα ἐλάλησα ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τοῦτον καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἐνοικοῦντας αὐτὸν τοῦ εἶναι εἰς ἀφανισμὸν καὶ εἰς κατάραν καὶ διέρρηξας τὰ ἱμάτιά σου καὶ ἔκλαυσας ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ καί γε ἐγὼ ἤκουσα λέγει κύριος
et perterritum est cor tuum , et humiliatus es coram Domino , auditis sermonibus contra locum istum et habitatores ejus , quod videlicet fierent in stuporem et in maledictum : et scidisti vestimenta tua , et flevisti coram me , et ego audivi , ait Dominus :
እስመ ፡ ኢያግዘፍከ ፡ ልበከ ፡ ወፈራህከ ፡ እምገጸ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘሰማዕከ ፡ ዘነበብኩ ፡ ላዕለዝ ፡ ብሔር ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስቴቱ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኣማስኖሙ ፡ ወይኩኑአ ፡ ለመርገምአ ፡ ወሠጠጥከአ ፡ አልባሲከ ፡ ወበከይከ ፡ ቅድሜየ ፡ ሰማዕኩአ ፡ አነአ ፡ ይቤአ ፡ እግዚአብሔርአ ።
because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before Yahweh when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you,’ says Yahweh.
22:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵן֩ הִנְנִ֨י אֹסִפְךָ֜ עַל ־אֲבֹתֶ֗יךָ וְנֶאֱסַפְתָּ֣ אֶל ־קִבְרֹתֶ֘יךָ֮ בְּשָׁלוֹם֒ וְלֹא ־תִרְאֶ֣ינָה עֵינֶ֔יךָ בְּכֹל֙ הָרָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר ־אֲנִ֥י מֵבִ֖יא עַל ־הַמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וַיָּשִׁ֥בוּ אֶת ־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ דָּבָֽר ׃
οὐχ οὕτως ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ προστίθημί σε πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας σου καὶ συναχθήσῃ εἰς τὸν τάφον σου ἐν εἰρήνῃ καὶ οὐκ ὀφθήσεται ἐν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς κακοῖς οἷς ἐγώ εἰμι ἐπάγω ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον τοῦτον καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν τῷ βασιλεῖ τὸ ῥῆμα
idcirco colligam te ad patres tuos , et colligeris ad sepulchrum tuum in pace , ut non videant oculi tui omnia mala quae inducturus sum super locum istum .
ወአኮአ ፡ ከመዝአ ፤ ናሁ ፡ አነ ፡ እቀትለከ ፡ ወትመውት ፡ ወተአቱ ፡ ኀበ ፡ አበዊከ ፡ ወትበውእ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መቃብሪከ ፡ በሰላም ፡ ወኢትሬእያ ፡ በዐይንከ ፡ ለኵሉ ፡ እኪት ፡ እንተ ፡ ኣመጽእ ፡ አነ ፡ ውስተዝ ፡ ብሔርአ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብርዎአ ።
‘Therefore behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be gathered to your grave in peace. Your eyes will not see all the evil which I will bring on this place.’”’” So they brought this message back to the king.
