23:1
וַיִּשְׁלַ֖ח הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיַּאַסְפ֣וּ אֵלָ֔יו כׇּל־זִקְנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה וִירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ συνήγαγεν πρὸς ἑαυτὸν πάντας τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους Ιουδα καὶ Ιερουσαλημ
Et renuntiaverunt regi quod dixerat. Qui misit : et congregati sunt ad eum omnes senes Juda et Jerusalem.
ወአግብኡ፡ ሎቱ፡ መልእክቶ፡ ለንጉሥ፡ ወለአከ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ወአስተጋብኦሙ፡ ኀቤሁ፡ ለኵሎሙ፡ ሊቃናተ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወኢየሩሳሌም ።
The king sent, and they gathered to him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.
23:2
וַיַּ֣עַל הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ בֵּית־יְהֹוָ֡ה וְכׇל־אִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָה֩ וְכׇל־יֹשְׁבֵ֨י יְרוּשָׁלַ֜͏ִם אִתּ֗וֹ וְהַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ וְהַנְּבִיאִ֔ים וְכׇל־הָעָ֖ם לְמִקָּטֹ֣ן וְעַד־גָּד֑וֹל וַיִּקְרָ֣א בְאׇזְנֵיהֶ֗ם אֶת־כׇּל־דִּבְרֵי֙ סֵ֣פֶר הַבְּרִ֔ית הַנִּמְצָ֖א בְּבֵ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ βασιλεὺς εἰς οἶκον κυρίου καὶ πᾶς ἀνὴρ Ιουδα καὶ πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐν Ιερουσαλημ μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ προφῆται καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀπὸ μικροῦ καὶ ἕως μεγάλου καὶ ἀνέγνω ἐν ὠσὶν αὐτῶν πάντας τοὺς λόγους τοῦ βιβλίου τῆς διαθήκης τοῦ εὑρεθέντος ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
Ascenditque rex templum Domini, et omnes viri Juda, universique qui habitabant in Jerusalem cum eo sacerdotes et prophetae, et omnis populus a parvo usque ad magnum : legitque, cunctis audientibus, omnia verba libri foederis, qui inventus est in domo Domini.
ወዐርገ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወኵሉ፡ ሰብአ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወኵሉ፡ እለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ወካህናትኒ፡ ወነቢያትኒ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ንኡሶሙ፡ ወዐቢዮሙ፡ ወአንበበ፡ ቅድሜሆሙ፡ ኵ ሎ፡ ቃለ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ሕግ፡ ዘተረክበ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
The king went up to Yahweh’s house, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him—with the priests, the prophets, and all the people, both small and great; and he read in their hearing all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in Yahweh’s house.
23:3
וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד הַ֠מֶּ֠לֶךְ עַֽל־הָ֨עַמּ֜וּד וַיִּכְרֹ֥ת אֶֽת־הַבְּרִ֣ית׀ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֗ה לָלֶ֜כֶת אַחַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ וְלִשְׁמֹ֨ר מִצְוֺתָ֜יו וְאֶת־עֵדְוֺתָ֤יו וְאֶת־חֻקֹּתָיו֙ בְּכׇל־לֵ֣ב וּבְכׇל־נֶ֔פֶשׁ לְהָקִ֗ים אֶת־דִּבְרֵי֙ הַבְּרִ֣ית הַזֹּ֔את הַכְּתֻבִ֖ים עַל־הַסֵּ֣פֶר הַזֶּ֑ה וַיַּעֲמֹ֥ד כׇּל־הָעָ֖ם בַּבְּרִֽית׃
καὶ ἔστη ὁ βασιλεὺς πρὸς τὸν στῦλον καὶ διέθετο διαθήκην ἐνώπιον κυρίου τοῦ πορεύεσθαι ὀπίσω κυρίου καὶ τοῦ φυλάσσειν τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ μαρτύρια αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτοῦ ἐν πάσῃ καρδίᾳ καὶ ἐν πάσῃ ψυχῇ τοῦ ἀναστῆσαι τοὺς λόγους τῆς διαθήκης ταύτης τὰ γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ τὸ βιβλίον τοῦτο καὶ ἔστη πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἐν τῇ διαθήκῃ
Stetitque rex super gradum : et foedus percussit coram Domino, ut ambularent post Dominum, et custodirent praecepta ejus, et testimonia, et caeremonias in omni corde, et in tota anima, et suscitarent verba foederis hujus, quae scripta erant in libro illo : acquievitque populus pacto.
ወቆመ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ኀበ፡ ዐምድ፡ ወተካየደ፡ ኪዳነ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይዕቀቡ፡ ትእዛዞ፡ ወኵነኔሁ፡ ወሕጎ፡ በኵሉ፡ ልቦሙ፡ ወበኵሉ፡ ነፍሶሙ፡ ከመ፡ ያቅሙ፡ በዝ፡ ነገር፡ ኪዳኖሙ።
The king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before Yahweh to walk after Yahweh and to keep his commandments, his testimonies, and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this book; and all the people agreed to the covenant.
23:4
וַיְצַ֣ו הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ אֶת־חִלְקִיָּ֩הוּ֩ הַכֹּהֵ֨ן הַגָּד֜וֹל וְאֶת־כֹּהֲנֵ֣י הַמִּשְׁנֶה֮ וְאֶת־שֹׁמְרֵ֣י הַסַּף֒ לְהוֹצִיא֙ מֵהֵיכַ֣ל יְהֹוָ֔ה אֵ֣ת כׇּל־הַכֵּלִ֗ים הָֽעֲשׂוּיִם֙ לַבַּ֣עַל וְלָאֲשֵׁרָ֔ה וּלְכֹ֖ל צְבָ֣א הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וַֽיִּשְׂרְפֵ֞ם מִח֤וּץ לִירוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ בְּשַׁדְמ֣וֹת קִדְר֔וֹן וְנָשָׂ֥א אֶת־עֲפָרָ֖ם בֵּֽית־אֵֽל׃
καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς τῷ Χελκια τῷ ἱερεῖ τῷ μεγάλῳ καὶ τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν τῆς δευτερώσεως καὶ τοῖς φυλάσσουσιν τὸν σταθμὸν τοῦ ἐξαγαγεῖν ἐκ τοῦ ναοῦ κυρίου πάντα τὰ σκεύη τὰ πεποιημένα τῷ Βααλ καὶ τῷ ἄλσει καὶ πάσῃ τῇ δυνάμει τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ κατέκαυσεν αὐτὰ ἔξω Ιερουσαλημ ἐν σαδημωθ Κεδρων καὶ ἔλαβεν τὸν χοῦν αὐτῶν εἰς Βαιθηλ
Et praecepit rex Helciae pontifici, et sacerdotibus secundi ordinis, et janitoribus, ut projicerent de templo Domini omnia vasa quae facta fuerant Baal, et in luco, et universae militiae caeli : et combussit ea foris Jerusalem in convalle Cedron, et tulit pulverem eorum in Bethel.
ወአዘዞ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ለኬልቅያስ፡ ለዐቢይ፡ ካህን፡ ወለካህናትኒ፡ እለ፡ እምታሕቴሁ፡ ወለእለ፡ የዐቅቡ፡ መዳልወ፡ ከመ፡ ያውፅኡ፡ ኵሎ፡ ንዋየ፡ በዓል፡ ወዘምሕራማት፡ ወዘኵሉ፡ ኀይለ፡ ሰማይ፡ ወአውፀይዎ፡ በአፍአ፡ እምኢየሩሳሌም፡ በሰዴሞተ፡ ቄድሮን፡ ወነሥኡ፡ ሐመዶ፡ ወወሰዱ፡ ቤቴል።
The king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring out of Yahweh’s temple all the vessels that were made for Baal, for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky; and he burned them outside of Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.
23:5
וְהִשְׁבִּ֣ית אֶת־הַכְּמָרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָֽתְנוּ֙ מַלְכֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וַיְקַטֵּ֤ר בַּבָּמוֹת֙ בְּעָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וּמְסִבֵּ֖י יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְאֶת־הַֽמְקַטְּרִ֣ים לַבַּ֗עַל לַשֶּׁ֤מֶשׁ וְלַיָּרֵ֙חַ֙ וְלַמַּזָּל֔וֹת וּלְכֹ֖ל צְבָ֥א הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃
καὶ κατέπαυσεν τοὺς χωμαριμ οὓς ἔδωκαν βασιλεῖς Ιουδα καὶ ἐθυμίων ἐν τοῖς ὑψηλοῖς καὶ ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν Ιουδα καὶ τοῖς περικύκλῳ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ τοὺς θυμιῶντας τῷ Βααλ καὶ τῷ ἡλίῳ καὶ τῇ σελήνῃ καὶ τοῖς μαζουρωθ καὶ πάσῃ τῇ δυνάμει τοῦ οὐρανοῦ
Et delevit aruspices quos posuerant reges Juda ad sacrificandum in excelsis per civitates Juda, et in circuitu Jerusalem : et eos qui adolebant incensum Baal, et soli, et lunae, et duodecim signis, et omni militiae caeli.
ወአውዐዮሙ፡ ለከማርም፡ እለ፡ ወሀበ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወየዐጥኑ፡ በአብያተ፡ አማልክት፡ ወውስተ፡ አህጉረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወውስተ፡ ዐውደ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወለእለ፡ የዐጥኑ፡ ለበዓል፡ ወለፀሓይ፡ ወለወርኅ፡ ወለማዙሮት፡ ወለኵሉ፡ ኀይለ፡ ሰማያት።
He got rid of the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense in the high places in the cities of Judah and in the places around Jerusalem; those also who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, to the moon, to the planets, and to all the army of the sky.
23:6
וַיֹּצֵ֣א אֶת־הָאֲשֵׁרָה֩ מִבֵּ֨ית יְהֹוָ֜ה מִח֤וּץ לִירוּשָׁלַ֙͏ִם֙ אֶל־נַ֣חַל קִדְר֔וֹן וַיִּשְׂרֹ֥ף אֹתָ֛הּ בְּנַ֥חַל קִדְר֖וֹן וַיָּ֣דֶק לְעָפָ֑ר וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ֙ אֶת־עֲפָרָ֔הּ עַל־קֶ֖בֶר בְּנֵ֥י הָעָֽם׃
καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν τὸ ἄλσος ἐξ οἴκου κυρίου ἔξωθεν Ιερουσαλημ εἰς τὸν χειμάρρουν Κεδρων καὶ κατέκαυσεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ χειμάρρῳ Κεδρων καὶ ἐλέπτυνεν εἰς χοῦν καὶ ἔρριψεν τὸν χοῦν αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν τάφον τῶν υἱῶν τοῦ λαοῦ
Et efferri fecit lucum de domo Domini foras Jerusalem in convalle Cedron, et combussit eum ibi, et redegit in pulverem, et projecit super sepulchra vulgi.
ወአውፅኦሙ፡ ምስለ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ፡ እምቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አፍአ፡ እምኢየሩሳሌም፡ ውስተ፡ ፈለገ፡ ቄድሮን፡ ወአውዐይዎሙ፡ በፈለገ፡ ቄድሮን፡ ወቀጥቀጥዎሙ፡ ወወደየ፡ ስባራቲሆሙ፡ ውስተ፡ መቃብረ፡ ደቂቀ፡ ሕዝብ።
He brought out the Asherah from Yahweh’s house, outside of Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron, and burned it at the brook Kidron, and beat it to dust, and cast its dust on the graves of the common people.
23:7
וַיִּתֹּץ֙ אֶת־בָּתֵּ֣י הַקְּדֵשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּבֵ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הַנָּשִׁ֗ים אֹרְג֥וֹת שָׁ֛ם בָּתִּ֖ים לָאֲשֵׁרָֽה׃
καὶ καθεῖλεν τὸν οἶκον τῶν καδησιμ τῶν ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ κυρίου οὗ αἱ γυναῖκες ὕφαινον ἐκεῖ χεττιιν τῷ ἄλσει
Destruxit quoque aediculas effeminatorum quae erant in domo Domini, pro quibus mulieres texebant quasi domunculas luci.
ወነሠተ፡ ቤተ፡ ቃዴስም፡ ዘውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኀበ፡ የአንማ፡ አንስት፡ ለአምላከ፡ ኬጣእም።
He broke down the houses of the male shrine prostitutes that were in Yahweh’s house, where the women wove hangings for the Asherah.
23:8
וַיָּבֵ֤א אֶת־כׇּל־הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ מֵעָרֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וַיְטַמֵּ֣א אֶת־הַבָּמ֗וֹת אֲשֶׁ֤ר קִטְּרֽוּ־שָׁ֙מָּה֙ הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים מִגֶּ֖בַע עַד־בְּאֵ֣ר שָׁ֑בַע וְנָתַ֞ץ אֶת־בָּמ֣וֹת הַשְּׁעָרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁר־פֶּ֜תַח שַׁ֤עַר יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ שַׂר־הָעִ֔יר אֲשֶֽׁר־עַל־שְׂמֹ֥אול אִ֖ישׁ בְּשַׁ֥עַר הָעִֽיר׃
καὶ ἀνήγαγεν πάντας τοὺς ἱερεῖς ἐκ πόλεων Ιουδα καὶ ἐμίανεν τὰ ὑψηλά οὗ ἐθυμίασαν ἐκεῖ οἱ ἱερεῖς ἀπὸ Γαβαα καὶ ἕως Βηρσαβεε καὶ καθεῖλεν τὸν οἶκον τῶν πυλῶν τὸν παρὰ τὴν θύραν τῆς πύλης Ιησου ἄρχοντος τῆς πόλεως τῶν ἐξ ἀριστερῶν ἀνδρὸς ἐν τῇ πύλῃ τῆς πόλεως
Congregavitque omnes sacerdotes de civitatibus Juda, et contaminavit excelsa ubi sacrificabant sacerdotes de Gabaa usque Bersabee, et destruxit aras portarum in introitu ostii Josue principis civitatis, quod erat ad sinistram portae civitatis.
ወአውፅኦሙ፡ ለገነውት፡ እምአህጉረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወአርኰሰ፡ አብያተ፡ አማልክት፡ ኀበ፡ የዐጥኑ፡ ህየ፡ ገነውት፡ እምጌባል፡ እስከ፡ ቤርሳቤሕ፡ ወነሠተ፡ አጽርሕ፡ ዴዴያት፡ ዘኀበ፡ ዴዴ፡ አንቀጽ፡ ዘሆሴዕ፡ መልአከ፡ ሀገር፡ ብእሲ፡ ዘኀበ፡ የማነ፡ አንቀጸ፡ ሀገር፡ አንቀጽ፡ ዘያበውእ፡ መንገለ፡ ወግዕ።
He brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beersheba; and he broke down the high places of the gates that were at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man’s left hand at the gate of the city.
23:9
אַ֗ךְ לֹ֤א יַעֲלוּ֙ כֹּהֲנֵ֣י הַבָּמ֔וֹת אֶל־מִזְבַּ֥ח יְהֹוָ֖ה בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם כִּ֛י אִם־אָכְל֥וּ מַצּ֖וֹת בְּת֥וֹךְ אֲחֵיהֶֽם׃
πλὴν οὐκ ἀνέβησαν οἱ ἱερεῖς τῶν ὑψηλῶν πρὸς τὸ θυσιαστήριον κυρίου ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ὅτι εἰ μὴ ἔφαγον ἄζυμα ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν
Verumtamen non ascendebant sacerdotes excelsorum ad altare Domini in Jerusalem : sed tantum comedebant azyma in medio fratrum suorum.
ወባሕቱ፡ ኢያንበሩ፡ ገነውተ፡ አማልክት፡ በኀበ፡ ምሥዋዐ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ በኢየሩሳሌም፡ እንበለ፡ ሶበ፡ ይበልዑ፡ ምስለ፡ ቢጾሙ።
Nevertheless the priests of the high places didn’t come up to Yahweh’s altar in Jerusalem, but they ate unleavened bread among their brothers.
23:10
וְטִמֵּ֣א אֶת־הַתֹּ֔פֶת אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּגֵ֣י (בני) [בֶן־]הִנֹּ֑ם לְבִלְתִּ֗י לְהַעֲבִ֨יר אִ֜ישׁ אֶת־בְּנ֧וֹ וְאֶת־בִּתּ֛וֹ בָּאֵ֖שׁ לַמֹּֽלֶךְ׃
καὶ ἐμίανεν τὸν Ταφεθ τὸν ἐν φάραγγι υἱοῦ Εννομ τοῦ διάγειν ἄνδρα τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἄνδρα τὴν θυγατέρα αὐτοῦ τῷ Μολοχ ἐν πυρί
Contaminavit quoque Topheth, quod est in convalle filii Ennom, ut nemo consecraret filium suum aut filiam per ignem, Moloch.
ወአርኰስዎ፡ ለጤፌጣ፡ በቈላተ፡ ወልደ፡ ሄኖም፡ ከመ፡ ይሡዑ፡ ኵሉ፡ ብእሲ፡ ወልዶ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ብእሲ፡ ወለቶ፡ ለሞሎሕ፡ በእሳት።
He defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.
23:11
וַיַּשְׁבֵּ֣ת אֶת־הַסּוּסִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתְנוּ֩ מַלְכֵ֨י יְהוּדָ֤ה לַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ מִבֹּ֣א בֵית־יְהֹוָ֔ה אֶל־לִשְׁכַּת֙ נְתַן־מֶ֣לֶךְ הַסָּרִ֔יס אֲשֶׁ֖ר בַּפַּרְוָרִ֑ים וְאֶת־מַרְכְּב֥וֹת הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ שָׂרַ֥ף בָּאֵֽשׁ׃
καὶ κατέπαυσεν τοὺς ἵππους οὓς ἔδωκαν βασιλεῖς Ιουδα τῷ ἡλίῳ ἐν τῇ εἰσόδῳ οἴκου κυρίου εἰς τὸ γαζοφυλάκιον Ναθαν βασιλέως τοῦ εὐνούχου ἐν φαρουριμ καὶ τὸ ἅρμα τοῦ ἡλίου κατέκαυσεν πυρί
Abstulit quoque equos quos dederant reges Juda soli in introitu templi Domini juxta exedram Nathanmelech eunuchi, qui erat in Pharurim : currus autem solis combussit igni.
ወአውዐየ፡ አፍራሰ፡ ዘወሀቡ፡ ነገሥተ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ለፀሓይ፡ በውስተ፡ አንቀጸ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ውስተ፡ ሙዳየ፡ ምጽዋት፡ ዘናታን፡ ኅጽው፡ በፈሩርም፡ ወሰረገላተ፡ ዘፀሓይ፡ አውዐየ፡ በእሳት።
He took away the horses that the kings of Judah had dedicated to the sun, at the entrance of Yahweh’s house, by the room of Nathan Melech the officer who was in the court; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.
23:12
וְאֶת־הַֽמִּזְבְּח֡וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל־הַגָּג֩ עֲלִיַּ֨ת אָחָ֜ז אֲשֶׁר־עָשׂ֣וּ׀ מַלְכֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֗ה וְאֶת־הַֽמִּזְבְּחוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֣ה מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה בִּשְׁתֵּ֛י חַצְר֥וֹת בֵּית־יְהֹוָ֖ה נָתַ֣ץ הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיָּ֣רׇץ מִשָּׁ֔ם וְהִשְׁלִ֥יךְ אֶת־עֲפָרָ֖ם אֶל־נַ֥חַל קִדְרֽוֹן׃
καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια τὰ ἐπὶ τοῦ δώματος τοῦ ὑπερῴου Αχαζ ἃ ἐποίησαν βασιλεῖς Ιουδα καὶ τὰ θυσιαστήρια ἃ ἐποίησεν Μανασσης ἐν ταῖς δυσὶν αὐλαῖς οἴκου κυρίου καὶ καθεῖλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ κατέσπασεν ἐκεῖθεν καὶ ἔρριψεν τὸν χοῦν αὐτῶν εἰς τὸν χειμάρρουν Κεδρων
Altaria quoque quae erant super tecta coenaculi Achaz, quae fecerant reges Juda, et altaria quae fecerat Manasses in duobus atriis templi Domini, destruxit rex, et cucurrit inde, et dispersit cinerem eorum in torrentem Cedron.
ወምሥዋዓተኒ፡ ዘውስተ፡ አንሕስት፡ ዘአጽራሕ፡ አካዝ፡ ዘገብረ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ ፤ ምሥዋዕኒ፡ ዘገብረ፡ ምናሴ፡ ውስተ፡ ፪ዐጸደ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወነሠቶ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ወአውረዶሙ፡ እምህየ፡ ወሰበሮሙ፡ ወስባራቲሆሙ፡ ገደፈ፡ ውስተ፡ ፈለገ፡ ቄድሮን።
The king broke down the altars that were on the roof of the upper room of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of Yahweh’s house, and beat them down from there, and cast their dust into the brook Kidron.
23:13
וְֽאֶת־הַבָּמ֞וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ עַל־פְּנֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלַ֗͏ִם אֲשֶׁר֮ מִימִ֣ין לְהַר־הַמַּשְׁחִית֒ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּ֠נָ֠ה שְׁלֹמֹ֨ה מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל לְעַשְׁתֹּ֣רֶת׀ שִׁקֻּ֣ץ צִידֹנִ֗ים וְלִכְמוֹשׁ֙ שִׁקֻּ֣ץ מוֹאָ֔ב וּלְמִלְכֹּ֖ם תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת בְּנֵֽי־עַמּ֑וֹן טִמֵּ֖א הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
καὶ τὸν οἶκον τὸν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον Ιερουσαλημ τὸν ἐκ δεξιῶν τοῦ ὄρους τοῦ Μοσοαθ ὃν ᾠκοδόμησεν Σαλωμων βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ τῇ Ἀστάρτῃ προσοχθίσματι Σιδωνίων καὶ τῷ Χαμως προσοχθίσματι Μωαβ καὶ τῷ Μολχολ βδελύγματι υἱῶν Αμμων ἐμίανεν ὁ βασιλεύς
Excelsa quoque, quae erant in Jerusalem ad dexteram partem montis offensionis, quae aedificaverat Salomon rex Israël Astaroth idolo Sidoniorum, et Chamos offensioni Moab, et Melchom abominationi filiorum Ammon, polluit rex.
ወቤተኒ፡ ዘቅድመ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ዘመንገለ፡ የማነ፡ ደብር፡ መስኅት፡ ዘሐነጸ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ሰሎሞን፡ ለአስጠርጤ፡ ኀሳሮሙ፡ ለሲዶና፡ ወለኮሞስ፡ ኀሳሮሙ፡ ለሞአብ፡ ወለሜልኮል፡ ርኵሶሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ አሞን፡ አርኰሰ፡ ንጉሥ።
The king defiled the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mountain of corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the abomination of the Sidonians, and for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, and for Milcom the abomination of the children of Ammon.
23:14
וְשִׁבַּר֙ אֶת־הַמַּצֵּב֔וֹת וַיִּכְרֹ֖ת אֶת־הָאֲשֵׁרִ֑ים וַיְמַלֵּ֥א אֶת־מְקוֹמָ֖ם עַצְמ֥וֹת אָדָֽם׃
καὶ συνέτριψεν τὰς στήλας καὶ ἐξωλέθρευσεν τὰ ἄλση καὶ ἔπλησεν τοὺς τόπους αὐτῶν ὀστέων ἀνθρώπων
Et contrivit statuas, et succidit lucos : replevitque loca eorum ossibus mortuorum.
ወቀጥቀጠ፡ አምሳሊሆሙ፡ ወሠረወ፡ ምሕራማቲሆሙ፡ ወመልአ፡ ውስተ፡ መካናቲሆሙ፡ አዕፅምተ፡ ሰብእ።
He broke in pieces the pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and filled their places with men’s bones.
23:15
וְגַ֨ם אֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּ֜חַ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּבֵֽית־אֵ֗ל הַבָּמָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשָׂ֜ה יָרׇבְעָ֤ם בֶּן־נְבָט֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֶחֱטִ֣יא אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל גַּ֣ם אֶת־הַמִּזְבֵּ֧חַ הַה֛וּא וְאֶת־הַבָּמָ֖ה נָתָ֑ץ וַיִּשְׂרֹ֧ף אֶת־הַבָּמָ֛ה הֵדַ֥ק לְעָפָ֖ר וְשָׂרַ֥ף אֲשֵׁרָֽה׃
καί γε τὸ θυσιαστήριον τὸ ἐν Βαιθηλ τὸ ὑψηλόν ὃ ἐποίησεν Ιεροβοαμ υἱὸς Ναβατ ὃς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ καί γε τὸ θυσιαστήριον ἐκεῖνο καὶ τὸ ὑψηλὸν κατέσπασεν καὶ συνέτριψεν τοὺς λίθους αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐλέπτυνεν εἰς χοῦν καὶ κατέκαυσεν τὸ ἄλσος
Insuper et altare quod erat in Bethel, et excelsum quod fecerat Jeroboam filius Nabat, qui peccare fecit Israël : et altare illud, et excelsum destruxit, atque combussit, et comminuit in pulverem, succenditque etiam lucum.
ወምሥዋዐኒ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ቤቴል፡ ዘቤተ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ፡ ዘገብረ፡ ኢዮርብዓም፡ ወልደ፡ ናባጥ፡ ዘአስሐቶሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ወውእተኒ፡ ምሥዋዐ፡ ዘቤተ፡ አምላኮሙ፡ ነሠተ፡ ወሰበረ፡ ወቀጥቀጠ፡ እበኒሁ፡ ወሐረፀ፡ ወአውዐየ፡ ምሕራሞሙ።
Moreover the altar that was at Bethel and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, even that altar and the high place he broke down; and he burned the high place and beat it to dust, and burned the Asherah.
23:16
וַיִּ֣פֶן יֹאשִׁיָּ֗הוּ וַיַּ֨רְא אֶת־הַקְּבָרִ֤ים אֲשֶׁר־שָׁם֙ בָּהָ֔ר וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח וַיִּקַּ֤ח אֶת־הָֽעֲצָמוֹת֙ מִן־הַקְּבָרִ֔ים וַיִּשְׂרֹ֥ף עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ וַֽיְטַמְּאֵ֑הוּ כִּדְבַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר קָרָא֙ אִ֣ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר קָרָ֔א אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃
καὶ ἐξένευσεν Ιωσιας καὶ εἶδεν τοὺς τάφους τοὺς ὄντας ἐκεῖ ἐν τῇ πόλει καὶ ἀπέστειλεν καὶ ἔλαβεν τὰ ὀστᾶ ἐκ τῶν τάφων καὶ κατέκαυσεν ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον καὶ ἐμίανεν αὐτὸ κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου ὃ ἐλάλησεν ὁ ἄνθρωπος τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν τῷ ἑστάναι Ιεροβοαμ ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον καὶ ἐπιστρέψας ἦρεν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸν τάφον τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ λαλήσαντος τοὺς λόγους τούτους
Et conversus Josias, vidit ibi sepulchra quae erant in monte : misitque et tulit ossa de sepulchris, et combussit ea super altare, et polluit illud juxta verbum Domini quod locutus est vir Dei, qui praedixerat verba haec.
ወሖረ፡ ኢዮስያስ፡ ወርእየ፡ መቃብረ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ውእቱ፡ ሀገር፡ ወፈነወ፡ ወአውፅኡ፡ ኵሎ፡ አዕፅምቺ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ውእቱ፡ መቃብር፡ ወአውዐዮ፡ በውስተ፡ ምሥዋዕ፡ ወአርኰሶ፡ በከመ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘነበበ፡ ብእሴ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አመ፡ በዓል፡ ዘገብረ፡ ኢዮርብዓም ፤ ወተመይጠ፡ ወርእየ፡ መቃብሮ፡ ለብእሴ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘነበቦ፡ ለዝ፡ ቃል።
As Josiah turned himself, he spied the tombs that were there in the mountain; and he sent, and took the bones out of the tombs, and burned them on the altar, and defiled it, according to Yahweh’s word which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these things.
23:17
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מָ֚ה הַצִּיּ֣וּן הַלָּ֔ז אֲשֶׁ֖ר אֲנִ֣י רֹאֶ֑ה וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ אֵלָ֜יו אַנְשֵׁ֣י הָעִ֗יר הַקֶּ֤בֶר אִישׁ־הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֣א מִֽיהוּדָ֔ה וַיִּקְרָ֗א אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֤ים הָאֵ֙לֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂ֔יתָ עַ֖ל הַמִּזְבַּ֥ח בֵּֽית־אֵֽל׃
καὶ εἶπεν τί τὸ σκόπελον ἐκεῖνο ὃ ἐγὼ ὁρῶ καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ οἱ ἄνδρες τῆς πόλεως ὁ ἄνθρωπος τοῦ θεοῦ ἐστιν ὁ ἐξεληλυθὼς ἐξ Ιουδα καὶ ἐπικαλεσάμενος τοὺς λόγους τούτους οὓς ἐπεκαλέσατο ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον Βαιθηλ
Et ait : Quis est titulus ille, quem video ? Responderuntque ei cives urbis illius : Sepulchrum est hominis Dei, qui venit de Juda, et praedixit verba haec, quae fecisti super altare Bethel.
ወይቤሎሙ፡ ምንትኑ፡ ዝንቱ፡ መድፍን፡ ዘእሬኢ፡ ወይቤልዎ፡ ሰብአ፡ ውእቱ፡ ብሔር፡ መቃብሩ፡ ለብእሴ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ውእቱ፡ ዘመጽአ፡ እምይሁዳ፡ ዘነበበ፡ በቃል፡ ከመዝ፡ በኀበ፡ ምሥዋዕ፡ ቤቴል።
Then he said, “What monument is that which I see?” The men of the city told him, “It is the tomb of the man of God who came from Judah and proclaimed these things that you have done against the altar of Bethel.”
23:18
וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הַנִּ֣יחוּ ל֔וֹ אִ֖ישׁ אַל־יָנַ֣ע עַצְמוֹתָ֑יו וַֽיְמַלְּטוּ֙ עַצְמוֹתָ֔יו אֵ֚ת עַצְמ֣וֹת הַנָּבִ֔יא אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֖א מִשֹּׁמְרֽוֹן׃
καὶ εἶπεν ἄφετε αὐτό ἀνὴρ μὴ κινησάτω τὰ ὀστᾶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐρρύσθησαν τὰ ὀστᾶ αὐτοῦ μετὰ τῶν ὀστῶν τοῦ προφήτου τοῦ ἥκοντος ἐκ Σαμαρείας
Et ait : Dimitte eum : nemo commoveat ossa ejus. Et intacta manserunt ossa illius cum ossibus prophetae qui venerat de Samaria.
ወይቤሎሙ፡ ኅድግዎ፡ አልቦ፡ ዘይገስስ፡ አዕፅምቲሁ ፤ ወድኅነ፡ አዕፅምቲሁ፡ ምስለ፡ አዕፅምተ፡ ነቢይ፡ ዘመጽአ፡ እምሰማርያ።
He said, “Let him be! Let no one move his bones.” So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet who came out of Samaria.
23:19
וְגַם֩ אֶת־כׇּל־בָּתֵּ֨י הַבָּמ֜וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ בְּעָרֵ֣י שֹׁמְר֗וֹן אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשׂ֜וּ מַלְכֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְהַכְעִ֔יס הֵסִ֖יר יֹאשִׁיָּ֑הוּ וַיַּ֣עַשׂ לָהֶ֔ם כְּכׇל־הַֽמַּעֲשִׂ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה בְּבֵֽית־אֵֽל׃
καί γε εἰς πάντας τοὺς οἴκους τῶν ὑψηλῶν τοὺς ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν Σαμαρείας οὓς ἐποίησαν βασιλεῖς Ισραηλ παροργίζειν κύριον ἀπέστησεν Ιωσιας καὶ ἐποίησεν ἐν αὐτοῖς πάντα τὰ ἔργα ἃ ἐποίησεν ἐν Βαιθηλ
Insuper et omnia fana excelsorum quae erant in civitatibus Samariae, quae fecerant reges Israël ad irritandum Dominum, abstulit Josias : et fecit eis secundum omnia opera quae fecerat in Bethel.
ወኵሎ፡ አብያተ፡ አማልክቲሆሙ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ሰማርያ፡ ዘንብሩ፡ ነገሥተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ከመ፡ ያምዕዕዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ነሠተ፡ ኢዮስያስ፡ ወገብረ፡ ቤተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ግብረ፡ ዘገብረ፡ በቤቴል።
All the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke Yahweh to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Bethel.
23:20
וַ֠יִּזְבַּ֠ח אֶת־כׇּל־כֹּהֲנֵ֨י הַבָּמ֤וֹת אֲשֶׁר־שָׁם֙ עַל־הַֽמִּזְבְּח֔וֹת וַיִּשְׂרֹ֛ף אֶת־עַצְמ֥וֹת אָדָ֖ם עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם וַיָּ֖שׇׁב יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
καὶ ἐθυσίασεν πάντας τοὺς ἱερεῖς τῶν ὑψηλῶν τοὺς ὄντας ἐκεῖ ἐπὶ τῶν θυσιαστηρίων καὶ κατέκαυσεν τὰ ὀστᾶ τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐπ’ αὐτά καὶ ἐπεστράφη εἰς Ιερουσαλημ
Et occidit universos sacerdotes excelsorum qui erant ibi super altaria, et combussit ossa humana super ea : reversusque est Jerusalem.
ወሦዖሙ፡ ለኵሎሙ፡ ገነውተ፡ አማልክት፡ እለ፡ ሀለዉ፡ ህየ፡ ውስተ፡ ምሥዋዓቲሆሙ፡ ወአንደዱ፡ አዕፅምተ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው፡ ውስቴቱ፡ ወአተወ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም።
He killed all the priests of the high places that were there, on the altars, and burned men’s bones on them; and he returned to Jerusalem.
23:21
וַיְצַ֤ו הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ אֶת־כׇּל־הָעָ֣ם לֵאמֹ֔ר עֲשׂ֣וּ פֶ֔סַח לַיהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם כַּכָּת֕וּב עַ֛ל סֵ֥פֶר הַבְּרִ֖ית הַזֶּֽה׃
καὶ ἐνετείλατο ὁ βασιλεὺς παντὶ τῷ λαῷ λέγων ποιήσατε τὸ πασχα τῷ κυρίῳ θεῷ ἡμῶν καθὼς γέγραπται ἐπὶ βιβλίου τῆς διαθήκης ταύτης
Et praecepit omni populo, dicens : Facite Phase Domino Deo vestro, secundum quod scriptum est in libro foederis hujus.
ወአዘዞሙ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ለኵሎሙ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ከመ፡ ይግበሩ፡ ፋሲካሁ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ አምላኮሙ፡ በከመ፡ ጽሑፍ፡ ውስተ፡ ውእቱ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ሕግ።
The king commanded all the people, saying, “Keep the Passover to Yahweh your God, as it is written in this book of the covenant.”
23:22
כִּ֣י לֹ֤א נַֽעֲשָׂה֙ כַּפֶּ֣סַח הַזֶּ֔ה מִימֵי֙ הַשֹּׁ֣פְטִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁפְט֖וּ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְכֹ֗ל יְמֵ֛י מַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וּמַלְכֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃
ὅτι οὐκ ἐγενήθη τὸ πασχα τοῦτο ἀφ’ ἡμερῶν τῶν κριτῶν οἳ ἔκρινον τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας βασιλέων Ισραηλ καὶ βασιλέων Ιουδα
Nec enim factum est Phase tale a diebus judicum qui judicaverunt Israël, et omnium dierum regum Israël et regum Juda,
እስመ፡ ኢተገብረ፡ ውእቱ፡ ፋሲካ፡ እምአመ፡ መሳፍንት፡ እለ፡ ኰነንዎሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ በኵሉ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ነገሥተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወነገሥተ፡ ይሁዳ።
Surely there was not kept such a Passover from the days of the judges who judged Israel, nor in all the days of the kings of Israel, nor of the kings of Judah;
23:23
כִּ֗י אִם־בִּשְׁמֹנֶ֤ה עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ יֹאשִׁיָּ֑הוּ נַעֲשָׂ֞ה הַפֶּ֧סַח הַזֶּ֛ה לַיהֹוָ֖ה בִּירוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
ὅτι ἀλλ’ ἢ τῷ ὀκτωκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει τοῦ βασιλέως Ιωσια ἐγενήθη τὸ πασχα τῷ κυρίῳ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ
sicut in octavodecimo anno regis Josiae factum est Phase istud Domino in Jerusalem.
እንበለ፡ አመ፡ ፲ወ፰ክረምተ፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ለኢዮስያስ፡ ተገብረ፡ ፋሲካሁ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ በኢየሩሳሌም።
but in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, this Passover was kept to Yahweh in Jerusalem.
23:24
וְגַ֣ם אֶת־הָאֹב֣וֹת וְאֶת־הַ֠יִּדְּעֹנִ֠ים וְאֶת־הַתְּרָפִ֨ים וְאֶת־הַגִּלֻּלִ֜ים וְאֵ֣ת כׇּל־הַשִּׁקֻּצִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר נִרְאוּ֙ בְּאֶ֤רֶץ יְהוּדָה֙ וּבִיר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם בִּעֵ֖ר יֹאשִׁיָּ֑הוּ לְ֠מַ֠עַן הָקִ֞ים אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֤י הַתּוֹרָה֙ הַכְּתֻבִ֣ים עַל־הַסֵּ֔פֶר אֲשֶׁ֥ר מָצָ֛א חִלְקִיָּ֥הוּ הַכֹּהֵ֖ן בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה׃
καί γε τοὺς θελητὰς καὶ τοὺς γνωριστὰς καὶ τὰ θεραφιν καὶ τὰ εἴδωλα καὶ πάντα τὰ προσοχθίσματα τὰ γεγονότα ἐν γῇ Ιουδα καὶ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ ἐξῆρεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιωσιας ἵνα στήσῃ τοὺς λόγους τοῦ νόμου τοὺς γεγραμμένους ἐπὶ τοῦ βιβλίου οὗ εὗρεν Χελκιας ὁ ἱερεὺς ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου
Sed et pythones, et ariolos, et figuras idolorum, et immunditias, et abominationes, quae fuerant in terra Juda et Jerusalem, abstulit Josias : ut statueret verba legis quae scripta sunt in libro quem invenit Helcias sacerdos in templo Domini.
ለማእምራን፡ ወለፈቃድያን፡ ወለቴርፋን፡ ኵሉ፡ ዘአማልክቲሆሙ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ኀሳሮሙ፡ ዘገብሩ፡ በይሁዳ፡ ወበኢየሩሳሌም፡ አሰሰለ፡ ኢዮስያስ፡ ከመ፡ ይብጻሕ፡ ቃለ፡ ሕጎሙ፡ ዘጽሑፍ፡ ዘረከበ፡ ኬልቅያስ፡ ካህን፡ ውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
Moreover, Josiah removed those who had familiar spirits, the wizards, and the teraphim, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in Yahweh’s house.
23:25
וְכָמֹ֩הוּ֩ לֹא־הָיָ֨ה לְפָנָ֜יו מֶ֗לֶךְ אֲשֶׁר־שָׁ֤ב אֶל־יְהֹוָה֙ בְּכׇל־לְבָב֤וֹ וּבְכׇל־נַפְשׁוֹ֙ וּבְכׇל־מְאֹד֔וֹ כְּכֹ֖ל תּוֹרַ֣ת מֹשֶׁ֑ה וְאַחֲרָ֖יו לֹא־קָ֥ם כָּמֹֽהוּ׃
ὅμοιος αὐτῷ οὐκ ἐγενήθη ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ βασιλεύς ὃς ἐπέστρεψεν πρὸς κύριον ἐν ὅλῃ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ ψυχῇ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ὅλῃ ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ κατὰ πάντα τὸν νόμον Μωυσῆ καὶ μετ’ αὐτὸν οὐκ ἀνέστη ὅμοιος αὐτῷ
Similis illi non fuit ante eum rex, qui reverteretur ad Dominum in omni corde suo, et in tota anima sua, et in universa virtute sua juxta omnem legem Moysi : neque post eum surrexit similis illi.
ወከማሁ፡ አልቦ፡ ዘኮነ፡ እምእለ፡ ቅድሜሁ፡ ነገሥት፡ ዘገብአ፡ በኵሉ፡ ልቡ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወበኵሉ፡ ኀይሉ፡ ወበኵሉ፡ ነፍሱ፡ በከመ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሕገ፡ ሙሴ፡ ወእምድኅሬሁኒ፡ አልቦ፡ ዘቆመ፡ ዘከማሁ።
There was no king like him before him, who turned to Yahweh with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; and there was none like him who arose after him.
23:26
אַ֣ךְ׀ לֹא־שָׁ֣ב יְהֹוָ֗ה מֵחֲר֤וֹן אַפּוֹ֙ הַגָּד֔וֹל אֲשֶׁר־חָרָ֥ה אַפּ֖וֹ בִּֽיהוּדָ֑ה עַ֚ל כׇּל־הַכְּעָסִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִכְעִיס֖וֹ מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃
πλὴν οὐκ ἀπεστράφη κύριος ἀπὸ θυμοῦ ὀργῆς αὐτοῦ τοῦ μεγάλου οὗ ἐθυμώθη ὀργὴ αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ Ιουδα ἐπὶ τοὺς παροργισμούς οὓς παρώργισεν αὐτὸν Μανασσης
Verumtamen non est aversus Dominus ab ira furoris sui magni quo iratus est furor ejus contra Judam propter irritationes quibus provocaverat eum Manasses.
ወባሕቱ፡ ኢሜጠ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ መዐቶ፡ ዘተምዐ፡ ላዕለ፡ ይሁዳ፡ መዐተ፡ ዘአምዕዖ፡ ምናሴ።
Notwithstanding, Yahweh didn’t turn from the fierceness of his great wrath, with which his anger burned against Judah, because of all the provocation with which Manasseh had provoked him.
23:27
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהֹוָ֗ה גַּ֤ם אֶת־יְהוּדָה֙ אָסִיר֙ מֵעַ֣ל פָּנַ֔י כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הֲסִרֹ֖תִי אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּ֠מָאַסְתִּ֠י אֶת־הָעִ֨יר הַזֹּ֤את אֲשֶׁר־בָּחַ֙רְתִּי֙ אֶת־יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וְאֶ֨ת־הַבַּ֔יִת אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמַ֔רְתִּי יִֽהְיֶ֥ה שְׁמִ֖י שָֽׁם׃
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος καί γε τὸν Ιουδαν ἀποστήσω ἀπὸ τοῦ προσώπου μου καθὼς ἀπέστησα τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπώσομαι τὴν πόλιν ταύτην ἣν ἐξελεξάμην τὴν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ τὸν οἶκον οὗ εἶπον ἔσται τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐκεῖ
Dixit itaque Dominus : Etiam Judam auferam a facie mea, sicut abstuli Israël : et projiciam civitatem hanc quam elegi Jerusalem, et domum de qua dixi : Erit nomen meum ibi.
ወይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለይሁዳኒ፡ እገድፎሙ፡ እምቅድመ፡ ገጽየ፡ በከመ፡ ገዴፍክዎሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ወእደመስሳ፡ ለዛቲ፡ ሀገር፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ እንተ፡ ኀረይኩ፡ ወዝኒ፡ ቤት፡ ዘእቤ፡ ይሄሉ፡ ስምየ፡ ህየ።
Yahweh said, “I will also remove Judah out of my sight, as I have removed Israel; and I will cast off this city which I have chosen, even Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, ‘My name shall be there.’”
23:28
וְיֶ֛תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י יֹאשִׁיָּ֖הוּ וְכׇל־אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה הֲלֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יְהוּדָֽה׃
καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ τῶν λόγων Ιωσιου καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν οὐχὶ ταῦτα γεγραμμένα ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ λόγων τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῖς βασιλεῦσιν Ιουδα
Reliqua autem sermonum Josiae, et universa quae fecit, nonne haec scripta sunt in libro verborum dierum regum Juda ?
ወኵሉ፡ ነገሩ፡ ለኢዮስያስ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ዘገብረ፡ ናሁ፡ ዝውእቱ፡ ዘጽሑፍ፡ ውስተ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ነቢያቲሆሙ፡ ለነገሥተ፡ ይሁዳ።
Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
23:29
בְּיָמָ֡יו עָלָה֩ פַרְעֹ֨ה נְכֹ֧ה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַ֛יִם עַל־מֶ֥לֶךְ אַשּׁ֖וּר עַל־נְהַר־פְּרָ֑ת וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ יֹאשִׁיָּ֙הוּ֙ לִקְרָאת֔וֹ וַיְמִיתֵ֙הוּ֙ בִּמְגִדּ֔וֹ כִּרְאֹת֖וֹ אֹתֽוֹ׃
ἐν δὲ ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ ἀνέβη Φαραω Νεχαω βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου ἐπὶ βασιλέα Ἀσσυρίων ἐπὶ ποταμὸν Εὐφράτην καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ιωσιας εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐθανάτωσεν αὐτὸν Νεχαω ἐν Μαγεδδω ἐν τῷ ἰδεῖν αὐτόν
In diebus ejus ascendit Pharao Nechao rex Aegypti contra regem Assyriorum ad flumen Euphraten, et abiit Josias rex in occursum ejus : et occisus est in Mageddo cum vidisset eum.
ወበመዋዕሊሁ፡ ዐርገ፡ ፈርዖን፡ ኒካዑ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ግብጽ፡ ላዕለ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ፋርስ፡ እንተ፡ ፈለገ፡ አፍራጤን፡ ወሖረ፡ ኢዮስያስ፡ ወተቀበሎ፡ ወቀተሎ፡ ኒካዑ፡ በመጌዱ፡ ሶበ፡ ተራከቦ።
In his days Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt went up against the king of Assyria to the river Euphrates; and King Josiah went against him, but Pharaoh Necoh killed him at Megiddo when he saw him.
23:30
וַיַּרְכִּבֻ֨הוּ עֲבָדָ֥יו מֵת֙ מִמְּגִדּ֔וֹ וַיְבִאֻ֙הוּ֙ יְר֣וּשָׁלַ֔͏ִם וַֽיִּקְבְּרֻ֖הוּ בִּקְבֻרָת֑וֹ וַיִּקַּ֣ח עַם־הָאָ֗רֶץ אֶת־יְהֽוֹאָחָז֙ בֶּן־יֹ֣אשִׁיָּ֔הוּ וַיִּמְשְׁח֥וּ אֹת֛וֹ וַיַּמְלִ֥יכוּ אֹת֖וֹ תַּ֥חַת אָבִֽיו׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐπεβίβασαν αὐτὸν οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ νεκρὸν ἐκ Μαγεδδω καὶ ἤγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ τάφῳ αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ ἔλαβεν ὁ λαὸς τῆς γῆς τὸν Ιωαχας υἱὸν Ιωσιου καὶ ἔχρισαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐβασίλευσαν αὐτὸν ἀντὶ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ
Et portaverunt eum servi sui mortuum de Mageddo : et pertulerunt in Jerusalem, et sepelierunt eum in sepulchro suo. Tulitque populus terrae Joachaz filium Josiae : et unxerunt eum, et constituerunt eum regem pro patre suo.
ወአጽዐንዎ፡ በድኖ፡ አግብርቲሁ፡ እመጌዱ፡ ወአእተውዎ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወቀበርዎ፡ ውስተ፡ መቃብር፡ ወነሥእዎ፡ አሕዛበ፡ ምድር፡ ለዮአክስ፡ ወልዱ፡ ወቀብእዎ፡ ወአንገሥዎ፡ ህየንተ፡ አቡሁ።
His servants carried him dead in a chariot from Megiddo, brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own tomb. The people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his father’s place.
23:31
בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִ֨ים וְשָׁלֹ֤שׁ שָׁנָה֙ יְהוֹאָחָ֣ז בְּמׇלְכ֔וֹ וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה חֳדָשִׁ֔ים מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירֽוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔וֹ חֲמוּטַ֥ל בַּֽת־יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ מִלִּבְנָֽה׃
υἱὸς εἴκοσι καὶ τριῶν ἐτῶν ἦν Ιωαχας ἐν τῷ βασιλεύειν αὐτὸν καὶ τρίμηνον ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ Αμιταλ θυγάτηρ Ιερεμιου ἐκ Λεμνα
Viginti trium annorum erat Joachaz cum regnare coepisset, et tribus mensibus regnavit in Jerusalem : nomen matris ejus Amital filia Jeremiae de Lobna.
፳ወ፫ክረምቱ፡ አመ፡ ይነግሥ፡ ዮአክስ፡ ወ፫አውራኀ፡ ነግሠ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወስማ፡ ለእሙ፡ አሚጣል፡ ወለተ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ዘእምሌምና።
Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
23:32
וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־עָשׂ֖וּ אֲבֹתָֽיו׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησαν οἱ πατέρες αὐτοῦ
Et fecit malum coram Domino, juxta omnia quae fecerant patres ejus.
ወገብረ፡ እኩየ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ኵሉ፡ ዘገብሩ፡ አበዊሁ።
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that his fathers had done.
23:33
וַיַּאַסְרֵ֩הוּ֩ פַרְעֹ֨ה נְכֹ֤ה בְרִבְלָה֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ חֲמָ֔ת (במלך) [מִמְּלֹ֖ךְ] בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וַיִּתֶּן־עֹ֙נֶשׁ֙ עַל־הָאָ֔רֶץ מֵאָ֥ה כִכַּר־כֶּ֖סֶף וְכִכַּ֥ר זָהָֽב׃
καὶ μετέστησεν αὐτὸν Φαραω Νεχαω ἐν Δεβλαθα ἐν γῇ Εμαθ τοῦ μὴ βασιλεύειν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἔδωκεν ζημίαν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἑκατὸν τάλαντα ἀργυρίου καὶ ἑκατὸν τάλαντα χρυσίου
Vinxitque eum Pharao Nechao in Rebla, quae est in terra Emath, ne regnaret in Jerusalem : et imposuit mulctam terrae centum talentis argenti, et talento auri.
ወአፍለሶ፡ ፈርዖን፡ ኒካዑ፡ በኤብለታ፡ በምድረ፡ ኤመጤ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይንግሥ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወአገበሮሙ፡ ጸባሕተ፡ ለኵሉ፡ ብሔሮሙ፡ ወአዘዞሙ፡ ፻መክሊተ፡ ወርቅ፡ ወ፻መክሊተ፡ ብሩር።
Pharaoh Necoh put him in bonds at Riblah in the land of Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem; and put the land to a tribute of one hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
23:34
וַיַּמְלֵךְ֩ פַּרְעֹ֨ה נְכֹ֜ה אֶת־אֶלְיָקִ֣ים בֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּ֗הוּ תַּ֚חַת יֹאשִׁיָּ֣הוּ אָבִ֔יו וַיַּסֵּ֥ב אֶת־שְׁמ֖וֹ יְהוֹיָקִ֑ים וְאֶת־יְהוֹאָחָ֣ז לָקַ֔ח וַיָּבֹ֥א מִצְרַ֖יִם וַיָּ֥מׇת שָֽׁם׃
καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Φαραω Νεχαω ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς τὸν Ελιακιμ υἱὸν Ιωσιου βασιλέως Ιουδα ἀντὶ Ιωσιου τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ιωακιμ καὶ τὸν Ιωαχας ἔλαβεν καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν εἰς Αἴγυπτον καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἐκεῖ
Regemque constituit Pharao Nechao Eliacim filium Josiae pro Josia patre ejus : vertitque nomen ejus Joakim. Porro Joachaz tulit, et duxit in Aegyptum, et mortuus est ibi.
ወአንገሠ፡ ፈርዖን፡ ኒካዑ፡ ኤልያቄምሃ፡ ወልደ፡ ኢዮስያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ህየንተ፡ ኢዮስያስ፡ አቡሁ፡ ወሜጠ፡ ስሞ፡ ዮአቂም፡ ወነሥኦ፡ ለዮአክዝ፡ ወወሰዶ፡ ብሔረ፡ ግብጽ፡ ወበህየ፡ ሞተ።
Pharaoh Necoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of Josiah his father, and changed his name to Jehoiakim; but he took Jehoahaz away, and he came to Egypt and died there.
23:35
וְהַכֶּ֣סֶף וְהַזָּהָ֗ב נָתַ֤ן יְהֽוֹיָקִים֙ לְפַרְעֹ֔ה אַ֚ךְ הֶעֱרִ֣יךְ אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ לָתֵ֥ת אֶת־הַכֶּ֖סֶף עַל־פִּ֣י פַרְעֹ֑ה אִ֣ישׁ כְּעֶרְכּ֗וֹ נָגַ֞שׂ אֶת־הַכֶּ֤סֶף וְאֶת־הַזָּהָב֙ אֶת־עַ֣ם הָאָ֔רֶץ לָתֵ֖ת לְפַרְעֹ֥ה נְכֹֽה׃ {ס}
καὶ τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ τὸ χρυσίον ἔδωκεν Ιωακιμ τῷ Φαραω πλὴν ἐτιμογράφησεν τὴν γῆν τοῦ δοῦναι τὸ ἀργύριον ἐπὶ στόματος Φαραω ἀνὴρ κατὰ τὴν συντίμησιν αὐτοῦ ἔδωκαν τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ τὸ χρυσίον μετὰ τοῦ λαοῦ τῆς γῆς δοῦναι τῷ Φαραω Νεχαω
Argentum autem et aurum dedit Joakim Pharaoni, cum indixisset terrae per singulos, ut conferretur juxta praeceptum Pharaonis : et unumquemque juxta vires suas exegit, tam argentum quam aurum, de populo terrae, ut daret Pharaoni Nechao.
ወወሀቦ፡ ዮአቂም፡ ለፈርዖን፡ ወርቆ፡ ወብሩሮ፡ ወአጽሐፈ፡ ኵሎ፡ ብሔሮ፡ ከመ፡ የሀቡ፡ ጸባሕተ፡ ወርቅ፡ ለፈርዖን ፤ ኵሉ፡ ብእሲ፡ በአምጣነ፡ ንዋዩ፡ የሀቡ፡ ጸባሕተ፡ ለፈረዖን፡ ኒካዑ።
Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh. He exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, from everyone according to his assessment, to give it to Pharaoh Necoh.
23:36
בֶּן־עֶשְׂרִ֨ים וְחָמֵ֤שׁ שָׁנָה֙ יְהוֹיָקִ֣ים בְּמׇלְכ֔וֹ וְאַחַ֤ת עֶשְׂרֵה֙ שָׁנָ֔ה מָלַ֖ךְ בִּירוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְשֵׁ֣ם אִמּ֔וֹ (זבידה) [זְבוּדָּ֥ה] בַת־פְּדָיָ֖ה מִן־רוּמָֽה׃
υἱὸς εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε ἐτῶν Ιωακιμ ἐν τῷ βασιλεύειν αὐτὸν καὶ ἕνδεκα ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ Ιελδαφ θυγάτηρ Φεδεϊα ἐκ Ρουμα
Viginti quinque annorum erat Joakim cum regnare coepisset, et undecim annis regnavit in Jerusalem : nomen matris ejus Zebida filia Phadaia de Ruma.
፳ወ፭ ክረምቱ፡ ለዮአቂም፡ አመ፡ ይነግሥ፡ ወ፲ወ፩ክረምቱ፡ ነግሠ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወስማ፡ ለእሙ፡ ሄልድፍ፡ ወለተ፡ ፌደየ፡ ቅሩማ።
Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Zebidah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah.
23:37
וַיַּ֥עַשׂ הָרַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־עָשׂ֖וּ אֲבֹתָֽיו׃
καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς κυρίου κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησαν οἱ πατέρες αὐτοῦ
