5:1
וְ֠נַעֲמָ֠ן שַׂר־צְבָ֨א מֶלֶךְ־אֲרָ֜ם הָיָ֣ה אִישׁ֩ גָּד֨וֹל לִפְנֵ֤י אֲדֹנָיו֙ וּנְשֻׂ֣א פָנִ֔ים כִּי־ב֛וֹ נָתַן־יְהֹוָ֥ה תְּשׁוּעָ֖ה לַאֲרָ֑ם וְהָאִ֗ישׁ הָיָ֛ה גִּבּ֥וֹר חַ֖יִל מְצֹרָֽע׃
καὶ Ναιμαν ὁ ἄρχων τῆς δυνάμεως Συρίας ἦν ἀνὴρ μέγας ἐνώπιον τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ καὶ τεθαυμασμένος προσώπῳ ὅτι ἐν αὐτῷ ἔδωκεν κύριος σωτηρίαν Συρίᾳ καὶ ὁ ἀνὴρ ἦν δυνατὸς ἰσχύι λελεπρωμένος
Naaman princeps militiae regis Syriae erat vir magnus apud dominum suum, et honoratus : per illum enim dedit Dominus salutem Syriae : erat autem vir fortis et dives, sed leprosus.
ወንእማን፡ መልአከ፡ ስራዊሆሙ፡ ለሶርያ፡ ብእሲ፡ ዕቢይ፡ በቅድመ፡ እግዚኡ፡ ወክቡር፡ ውእቱ፡ ወያከብሮ፡ እስመ፡ በእደ፡ ዚአሁ፡ አድኀኖሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለሶርያ፡ ወብእሲ፡ ጽኑዕ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወኀያል፡ ወአኀዞ፡ ለምጽ።
Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him Yahweh had given victory to Syria; he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.
5:2
וַֽאֲרָם֙ יָצְא֣וּ גְדוּדִ֔ים וַיִּשְׁבּ֛וּ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נַעֲרָ֣ה קְטַנָּ֑ה וַתְּהִ֕י לִפְנֵ֖י אֵ֥שֶׁת נַעֲמָֽן׃
καὶ Συρία ἐξῆλθον μονόζωνοι καὶ ᾐχμαλώτευσαν ἐκ γῆς Ισραηλ νεάνιδα μικράν καὶ ἦν ἐνώπιον τῆς γυναικὸς Ναιμαν
Porro de Syria egressi fuerant latrunculi, et captivam duxerant de terra Israël puellam parvulam, quae erat in obsequio uxoris Naaman :
ወአመ፡ መጽአ፡ ምስለ፡ ሶርያ፡ ጸብአ፡ ወፄወወ፡ እምነ፡ ምድረ፡ እስራኤል፡ አሐተ፡ ወለተ፡ ነኣሳ፡ ወአንበራ፡ ኀበ፡ ብእሲቱ።
The Syrians had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little girl, and she waited on Naaman’s wife.
5:3
וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־גְּבִרְתָּ֔הּ אַחֲלֵ֣י אֲדֹנִ֔י לִפְנֵ֥י הַנָּבִ֖יא אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּשֹׁמְר֑וֹן אָ֛ז יֶאֱסֹ֥ף אֹת֖וֹ מִצָּרַעְתּֽוֹ׃
ἡ δὲ εἶπεν τῇ κυρίᾳ αὐτῆς ὄφελον ὁ κύριός μου ἐνώπιον τοῦ προφήτου τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ τότε ἀποσυνάξει αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς λέπρας αὐτοῦ
quae ait ad dominam suam : Utinam fuisset dominus meus ad prophetam qui est in Samaria, profecto curasset eum a lepra quam habet.
ወትቤላ፡ ለእግዝእታ፡ ርቱዕ፡ ይሖር፡ እግዚእየ፡ ኀበ፡ ብእሴ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ነቢይ፡ ዘውስተ፡ ሰማርያ፡ ወይፌውሶ፡ እምዝንቱ፡ ለምጹ።
She said to her mistress, “I wish that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would heal him of his leprosy.”
5:4
וַיָּבֹ֕א וַיַּגֵּ֥ד לַאדֹנָ֖יו לֵאמֹ֑ר כָּזֹ֤את וְכָזֹאת֙ דִּבְּרָ֣ה הַֽנַּעֲרָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר מֵאֶ֥רֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ εἰσῆλθεν καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν τῷ κυρίῳ ἑαυτῆς καὶ εἶπεν οὕτως καὶ οὕτως ἐλάλησεν ἡ νεᾶνις ἡ ἐκ γῆς Ισραηλ
Ingressus est itaque Naaman ad dominum suum, et nuntiavit ei, dicens : Sic et sic locuta est puella de terra Israël.
ወቦአት፡ ብእሲቱ፡ ኀቤሁ፡ ወነገረቶ፡ ወትቤሎ፡ ከመዝ፡ ትቤ፡ ዛቲ፡ ወለት፡ እንተ፡ እምብሔረ፡ እስራኤል።
Someone went in and told his lord, saying, “The girl who is from the land of Israel said this.”
5:5
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר מֶֽלֶךְ־אֲרָם֙ לֶךְ־בֹּ֔א וְאֶשְׁלְחָ֥ה סֵ֖פֶר אֶל־מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיֵּ֩לֶךְ֩ וַיִּקַּ֨ח בְּיָד֜וֹ עֶ֣שֶׂר כִּכְּרֵי־כֶ֗סֶף וְשֵׁ֤שֶׁת אֲלָפִים֙ זָהָ֔ב וְעֶ֖שֶׂר חֲלִיפ֥וֹת בְּגָדִֽים׃
καὶ εἶπεν βασιλεὺς Συρίας πρὸς Ναιμαν δεῦρο εἴσελθε καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ βιβλίον πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔλαβεν ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ δέκα τάλαντα ἀργυρίου καὶ ἑξακισχιλίους χρυσοῦς καὶ δέκα ἀλλασσομένας στολάς
Dixitque ei rex Syriae : Vade, et mittam litteras ad regem Israël. Qui cum profectus esset, et tulisset secum decem talenta argenti, et sex millia aureos, et decem mutatoria vestimentorum,
ወይቤሎ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ሶርያ፡ ለንእማን፡ ነዓ፡ ሖር፡ እፌኑ፡ ለከ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ኀበ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወሖረ፡ ወነሥአ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ፲መክሊተ፡ ብሩረ፡ ወ፰፻ወርቀ፡ ወ፲ዐራዘ፡ አልባስ።
The king of Syria said, “Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.” He departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of clothing.
5:6
וַיָּבֵ֣א הַסֵּ֔פֶר אֶל־מֶ֥לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר וְעַתָּ֗ה כְּב֨וֹא הַסֵּ֤פֶר הַזֶּה֙ אֵלֶ֔יךָ הִנֵּ֨ה שָׁלַ֤חְתִּי אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶת־נַעֲמָ֣ן עַבְדִּ֔י וַאֲסַפְתּ֖וֹ מִצָּרַעְתּֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἤνεγκεν τὸ βιβλίον πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Ισραηλ λέγων καὶ νῦν ὡς ἂν ἔλθῃ τὸ βιβλίον τοῦτο πρὸς σέ ἰδοὺ ἀπέστειλα πρὸς σὲ Ναιμαν τὸν δοῦλόν μου καὶ ἀποσυνάξεις αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς λέπρας αὐτοῦ
detulit litteras ad regem Israël in haec verba : Cum acceperis epistolam hanc, scito quod miserim ad te Naaman servum meum, ut cures eum a lepra sua.
ወአብጽሐ፡ መጽሐፈ፡ ኀበ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወይብል፡ መጽሐፉ፡ ይእዜኒአ፡ እምከመአ፡ በጽሐት፡ ዛቲ፡ መጽሐፍ፡ ኀቤከ፡ ናሁ፡ ፈነውኩ፡ ኀቤከ፡ ንእማን፡ ቍልዔየ፡ ወፈውሶ፡ እምነአ፡ ለምጹአ።
He brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, “Now when this letter has come to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.”
5:7
וַיְהִ֡י כִּקְרֹא֩ מֶלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל אֶת־הַסֵּ֜פֶר וַיִּקְרַ֣ע בְּגָדָ֗יו וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הַאֱלֹהִ֥ים אָ֙נִי֙ לְהָמִ֣ית וּֽלְהַחֲי֔וֹת כִּי־זֶה֙ שֹׁלֵ֣חַ אֵלַ֔י לֶאֱסֹ֥ף אִ֖ישׁ מִצָּרַעְתּ֑וֹ כִּ֤י אַךְ־דְּעוּ־נָא֙ וּרְא֔וּ כִּֽי־מִתְאַנֶּ֥ה ה֖וּא לִֽי׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἀνέγνω βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ τὸ βιβλίον διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν μὴ θεὸς ἐγὼ τοῦ θανατῶσαι καὶ ζωοποιῆσαι ὅτι οὗτος ἀποστέλλει πρός με ἀποσυνάξαι ἄνδρα ἀπὸ τῆς λέπρας αὐτοῦ ὅτι πλὴν γνῶτε δὴ καὶ ἴδετε ὅτι προφασίζεται οὗτός με
Cumque legisset rex Israël litteras, scidit vestimenta sua, et ait : Numquid deus ego sum, ut occidere possim et vivificare, quia iste misit ad me ut curem hominem a lepra sua ? animadvertite, et videte quod occasiones quaerat adversum me.
ወእምዝ፡ ሶበ፡ አንበባ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለይእቲ፡ መጽሐፍ፡ ሠጠጠ፡ አልባሲሁ፡ ወይቤ፡ ቦኑ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አነ፡ ከመ፡ እክል፡ ቀቲለ፡ ወአሕይዎ፡ ከመ፡ ይፈኑ፡ ኀቤየ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ብእ[ሴ]፡ ዘለምጽ፡ ወእፈውሶ፡ እምነ፡ ለምጹ ፤ ናሁ፡ ርእዩ፡ ከመ፡ ምክንያተ፡ የኀሥሥ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ለነ።
When the king of Israel had read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? But please consider and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.”
5:8
וַיְהִ֞י כִּשְׁמֹ֣עַ׀ אֱלִישָׁ֣ע אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים כִּֽי־קָרַ֤ע מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶת־בְּגָדָ֔יו וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ לֵאמֹ֔ר לָ֥מָּה קָרַ֖עְתָּ בְּגָדֶ֑יךָ יָבֹא־נָ֣א אֵלַ֔י וְיֵדַ֕ע כִּ֛י יֵ֥שׁ נָבִ֖יא בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν Ελισαιε ὅτι διέρρηξεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ τὰ ἱμάτια ἑαυτοῦ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Ισραηλ λέγων ἵνα τί διέρρηξας τὰ ἱμάτιά σου ἐλθέτω δὴ πρός με Ναιμαν καὶ γνώτω ὅτι ἔστιν προφήτης ἐν Ισραηλ
Quod cum audisset Eliseus vir Dei, scidisse videlicet regem Israël vestimenta sua, misit ad eum, dicens : Quare scidisti vestimenta tua ? veniat ad me, et sciat esse prophetam in Israël.
ወእምዝ፡ ሶበ፡ ሰምዐ፡ ኤልሳዕ፡ ከመ፡ ሠጠጠ፡ አልባሲሁ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለአከ፡ ኀበ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ለምንትአ፡ ሠጠጥከአ፡ አልባሲከ ፤ ለይምጻእ፡ ኀቤየ፡ ንእማን፡ ወታአምር፡ ከመ፡ ቦቱ፡ ነቢየ፡ ውስተአ፡ እስራኤልአ።
It was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.”
5:9
וַיָּבֹ֥א נַעֲמָ֖ן בְּסוּסָ֣ו וּבְרִכְבּ֑וֹ וַיַּעֲמֹ֥ד פֶּֽתַח־הַבַּ֖יִת לֶאֱלִישָֽׁע׃
καὶ ἦλθεν Ναιμαν ἐν ἵππῳ καὶ ἅρματι καὶ ἔστη ἐπὶ θύρας οἴκου Ελισαιε
Venit ergo Naaman cum equis et curribus, et stetit ad ostium domus Elisei :
ወሖረ፡ ንእማን፡ በአፍራስ፡ ወበሰረገላት፡ ወቆመ፡ ኀበ፡ ኆኅተ፡ ቤቱ፡ ለኤልሳዕ።
So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariots, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.
5:10
וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח אֵלָ֛יו אֱלִישָׁ֖ע מַלְאָ֣ךְ לֵאמֹ֑ר הָל֗וֹךְ וְרָחַצְתָּ֤ שֶֽׁבַע־פְּעָמִים֙ בַּיַּרְדֵּ֔ן וְיָשֹׁ֧ב בְּשָׂרְךָ֛ לְךָ֖ וּטְהָֽר׃
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ελισαιε ἄγγελον πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγων πορευθεὶς λοῦσαι ἑπτάκις ἐν τῷ Ιορδάνῃ καὶ ἐπιστρέψει ἡ σάρξ σού σοι καὶ καθαρισθήσῃ
misitque ad eum Eliseus nuntium, dicens : Vade, et lavare septies in Jordane, et recipiet sanitatem caro tua, atque mundaberis.
ወለአከ፡ ኀቤሁ፡ ኤልሳዕ፡ እንዘ፡ ይብል፡ ሖርአ፡ ተጠመቅአ፡ ውስተ፡ ተከዚ፡ ዮርዳኖስ፡ ስብዕ፡ ወይገብእ፡ ኅብረ፡ ሥጋከ፡ ወተሐዩአ፡ እምለምጽከአ።
Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.”
5:11
וַיִּקְצֹ֥ף נַעֲמָ֖ן וַיֵּלַ֑ךְ וַיֹּ֩אמֶר֩ הִנֵּ֨ה אָמַ֜רְתִּי אֵלַ֣י׀ יֵצֵ֣א יָצ֗וֹא וְעָמַד֙ וְקָרָא֙ בְּשֵׁם־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔יו וְהֵנִ֥יף יָד֛וֹ אֶל־הַמָּק֖וֹם וְאָסַ֥ף הַמְּצֹרָֽע׃
καὶ ἐθυμώθη Ναιμαν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ δὴ ἔλεγον ὅτι ἐξελεύσεται πρός με καὶ στήσεται καὶ ἐπικαλέσεται ἐν ὀνόματι θεοῦ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπιθήσει τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸν τόπον καὶ ἀποσυνάξει τὸ λεπρόν
Iratus Naaman recedebat, dicens : Putabam quod egrederetur ad me, et stans invocaret nomen Domini Dei sui, et tangeret manu sua locum leprae, et curaret me.
ወተምዕዐ፡ ንእማን፡ ወአተወ፡ ወይቤ፡ መሰለኒ፡ ሊተሰ፡ ዘይወፅእ፡ ወይቀውም፡ ኀቤየ፡ ወይጼውዕ፡ ስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላኩ፡ ወይወዲ፡ እዴሁ፡ ዲቤየ፡ ወይፌውሰኒ።
But Naaman was angry, and went away and said, “Behold, I thought, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leper.’
5:12
הֲלֹ֡א טוֹב֩ (אבנה) [אֲמָנָ֨ה] וּפַרְפַּ֜ר נַהֲר֣וֹת דַּמֶּ֗שֶׂק מִכֹּל֙ מֵימֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הֲלֹֽא־אֶרְחַ֥ץ בָּהֶ֖ם וְטָהָ֑רְתִּי וַיִּ֖פֶן וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ בְּחֵמָֽה׃
οὐχὶ ἀγαθὸς Αβανα καὶ Φαρφαρ ποταμοὶ Δαμασκοῦ ὑπὲρ Ιορδάνην καὶ πάντα τὰ ὕδατα Ισραηλ οὐχὶ πορευθεὶς λούσομαι ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ καθαρισθήσομαι καὶ ἐξέκλινεν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἐν θυμῷ
Numquid non meliores sunt Abana et Pharphar fluvii Damasci, omnibus aquis Israël, ut laver in eis, et munder ? Cum ergo vertisset se, et abiret indignans,
ኢይኄይስኑ፡ ማያተ፡ ደማስቆ፡ እምነ፡ ኵሉ፡ ማያቲሆሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ይኄይሱ፡ ፈለገ፡ አበና፡ ወፈለገ፡ ፈርፋ ፤ ኢየሐውርኑ፡ እትኀፀብ፡ ውስቴቶሙ፡ ወእሕየሡ፡ እምነ፡ ለምጽየ፡ ወተግሕሠ፡ ወሖረ፡ እንዘ፡ ይትመዓዕ።
Aren’t Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.
5:13
וַיִּגְּשׁ֣וּ עֲבָדָיו֮ וַיְדַבְּר֣וּ אֵלָיו֒ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ אָבִי֙ דָּבָ֣ר גָּד֗וֹל הַנָּבִ֛יא דִּבֶּ֥ר אֵלֶ֖יךָ הֲל֣וֹא תַעֲשֶׂ֑ה וְאַ֛ף כִּי־אָמַ֥ר אֵלֶ֖יךָ רְחַ֥ץ וּטְהָֽר׃
καὶ ἤγγισαν οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐλάλησαν πρὸς αὐτόν μέγαν λόγον ἐλάλησεν ὁ προφήτης πρὸς σέ οὐχὶ ποιήσεις καὶ ὅτι εἶπεν πρὸς σέ λοῦσαι καὶ καθαρίσθητι
accesserunt ad eum servi sui, et locuti sunt ei : Pater, etsi rem grandem dixisset tibi propheta, certe facere debueras : quanto magis quia nunc dixit tibi : Lavare, et mundaberis ?
ወመጽኡ፡ ደቁ፡ ኀቤሁ፡ ወይቤልዎ፡ ዐቢየ፡ ነገረ፡ ይቤለከ፡ ነቢይ ፤ ግበር፡ በከመ፡ ይቤለከ፡ ሖር፡ ተኀፀብ፡ ወተሐዩ።
His servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had asked you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?”
5:14
וַיֵּ֗רֶד וַיִּטְבֹּ֤ל בַּיַּרְדֵּן֙ שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֔ים כִּדְבַ֖ר אִ֣ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיָּ֣שׇׁב בְּשָׂר֗וֹ כִּבְשַׂ֛ר נַ֥עַר קָטֹ֖ן וַיִּטְהָֽר׃
καὶ κατέβη Ναιμαν καὶ ἐβαπτίσατο ἐν τῷ Ιορδάνῃ ἑπτάκι κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα Ελισαιε καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ἡ σὰρξ αὐτοῦ ὡς σὰρξ παιδαρίου μικροῦ καὶ ἐκαθαρίσθη
Descendit, et lavit in Jordane septies juxta sermonem viri Dei : et restituta est caro ejus sicut caro pueri parvuli, et mundatus est.
ወሖረ፡ ንእማን፡ ወወረደ፡ ወተጠምቀ፡ ውስተ፡ ፈለገ፡ ዮርዳኖስ፡ ስብዕ፡ በከመ፡ ይቤሎ፡ ኤልሳዕ፡ ወሐይወ፡ ወኮነ፡ ሥጋሁ፡ ከመ፡ ሥጋ፡ ሕፃን፡ ንኡስ።
Then went he down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
5:15
וַיָּ֩שׇׁב֩ אֶל־אִ֨ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֜ים ה֣וּא וְכׇֽל־מַחֲנֵ֗הוּ וַיָּבֹא֮ וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד לְפָנָיו֒ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הִנֵּה־נָ֤א יָדַ֙עְתִּי֙ כִּ֣י אֵ֤ין אֱלֹהִים֙ בְּכׇל־הָאָ֔רֶץ כִּ֖י אִם־בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְעַתָּ֛ה קַח־נָ֥א בְרָכָ֖ה מֵאֵ֥ת עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃
καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν πρὸς Ελισαιε αὐτὸς καὶ πᾶσα ἡ παρεμβολὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἦλθεν καὶ ἔστη καὶ εἶπεν ἰδοὺ δὴ ἔγνωκα ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν θεὸς ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ ὅτι ἀλλ’ ἢ ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ νῦν λαβὲ τὴν εὐλογίαν παρὰ τοῦ δούλου σου
Reversusque ad virum Dei cum universo comitatu suo, venit, et stetit coram eo, et ait : Vere scio quod non sit alius deus in universa terra, nisi tantum in Israël. Obsecro itaque ut accipias benedictionem a servo tuo.
ወገብአ፡ ኀበ፡ ኤልሳ፡ ዕ፡ ለሊሁ፡ ምስለ፡ ኵሉ፡ ትዕይንቱ፡ ወበጽሐ፡ ኀቤሁ፡ ወቆመ፡ ቅድሜሁ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ናሁ፡ አእመርኩ፡ ከመ፡ አልቦቱ፡ አምላከ፡ በኵሉ፡ ምድር፡ እንበለ፡ በውስተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወይእዜኒ፡ ንሣእ፡ አምኃሁ፡ እምነ፡ እዴሁ፡ ለገብርከ።
He returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him; and he said, “See now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel. Now therefore, please take a gift from your servant.”
5:16
וַיֹּ֕אמֶר חַי־יְהֹוָ֛ה אֲשֶׁר־עָמַ֥דְתִּי לְפָנָ֖יו אִם־אֶקָּ֑ח וַיִּפְצַר־בּ֥וֹ לָקַ֖חַת וַיְמָאֵֽן׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ελισαιε ζῇ κύριος ᾧ παρέστην ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ εἰ λήμψομαι καὶ παρεβιάσατο αὐτὸν λαβεῖν καὶ ἠπείθησεν
At ille respondit : Vivit Dominus, ante quem sto, quia non accipiam. Cumque vim faceret, penitus non acquievit.
ወይቤሎ፡ ኤልሳዕ፡ ሕያው፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘቆምኩ፡ ቅድሜሁ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይነሥእ፡ ወአስተብቍዖ፡ ይንሣእ፡ ወኦሆ፡ ኢይቤ።
But he said, “As Yahweh lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none.” He urged him to take it; but he refused.
5:17
וַיֹּ֘אמֶר֮ נַעֲמָן֒ וָלֹ֕א יֻתַּן־נָ֣א לְעַבְדְּךָ֔ מַשָּׂ֥א צֶמֶד־פְּרָדִ֖ים אֲדָמָ֑ה כִּ֡י לֽוֹא־יַעֲשֶׂה֩ ע֨וֹד עַבְדְּךָ֜ עֹלָ֤ה וָזֶ֙בַח֙ לֵאלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים כִּ֖י אִם־לַיהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ναιμαν καὶ εἰ μή δοθήτω δὴ τῷ δούλῳ σου γόμος ζεύγους ἡμιόνων καὶ σύ μοι δώσεις ἐκ τῆς γῆς τῆς πυρρᾶς ὅτι οὐ ποιήσει ἔτι ὁ δοῦλός σου ὁλοκαύτωμα καὶ θυσίασμα θεοῖς ἑτέροις ἀλλ’ ἢ τῷ κυρίῳ μόνῳ
Dixitque Naaman : Ut vis : sed, obsecro, concede mihi servo tuo ut tollam onus duorum burdonum de terra : non enim faciet ultra servus tuus holocaustum aut victimam diis alienis, nisi Domino.
ወይቤሎ፡ ንእማን፡ ወእመ፡ አኮ፡ የሀብዎ፡ ለገብርከ፡ በመስፈርተ፡ ጎሞር፡ ጾረ፡ ፪አብቅል፡ እስመ፡ ኢይገብር፡ ገብርከ፡ እምይእዜ፡ እንከ፡ መሥዋዕተ፡ ለባዕድ፡ አማልክት፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ለግዚአብሔር፡ ለባሕቲቱ፡ በቃለ፡ ዚአከ።
Naaman said, “If not, then, please let two mules’ load of earth be given to your servant; for your servant will from now on offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to Yahweh.
5:18
לַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֔ה יִסְלַ֥ח יְהֹוָ֖ה לְעַבְדֶּ֑ךָ בְּב֣וֹא אֲדֹנִ֣י בֵית־רִמּוֹן֩ לְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֨ת שָׁ֜מָּה וְה֣וּא׀ נִשְׁעָ֣ן עַל־יָדִ֗י וְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֵ֙יתִי֙ בֵּ֣ית רִמֹּ֔ן בְּהִשְׁתַּחֲוָיָ֙תִי֙ בֵּ֣ית רִמֹּ֔ן יִסְלַח־(נא)־יְהֹוָ֥ה לְעַבְדְּךָ֖ בַּדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃
καὶ ἱλάσεται κύριος τῷ δούλῳ σου ἐν τῷ εἰσπορεύεσθαι τὸν κύριόν μου εἰς οἶκον Ρεμμαν προσκυνῆσαι αὐτὸν καὶ ἐπαναπαύσεται ἐπὶ τῆς χειρός μου καὶ προσκυνήσω ἐν οἴκῳ Ρεμμαν ἐν τῷ προσκυνεῖν αὐτὸν ἐν οἴκῳ Ρεμμαν καὶ ἱλάσεται δὴ κύριος τῷ δούλῳ σου ἐν τῷ λόγῳ τούτῳ
Hoc autem solum est, de quo depreceris Dominum pro servo tuo, quando ingredietur dominus meus templum Remmon ut adoret : et illo innitente super manum meam, si adoravero in templo Remmon, adorante eo in eodem loco, ut ignoscat mihi Dominus servo tuo pro hac re.
ወበእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ይሰሪ፡ ሎቱ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለገብርከ፡ ሶበ፡ ይበውእ፡ እግዚእየ፡ ቤተ፡ ሬማን፡ ይሰግድ፡ ሎቱ፡ በህየ፡ ያሰምክ፡ ዲበ፡ እዴየ፡ ወእሰግድ፡ አነኒ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ በቤተ፡ ሬማን፡ ሶበ፡ ሰገደ፡ ውእቱ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ ራማን፡ ወይስሪ፡ ሎቱ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለገብርከ፡ እንበይነ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ነገር።
In this thing may Yahweh pardon your servant: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon. When I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, may Yahweh pardon your servant in this thing.”
5:19
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר ל֖וֹ לֵ֣ךְ לְשָׁל֑וֹם וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ מֵאִתּ֖וֹ כִּבְרַת־אָֽרֶץ׃ {ס}
καὶ εἶπεν Ελισαιε πρὸς Ναιμαν δεῦρο εἰς εἰρήνην καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ εἰς δεβραθα τῆς γῆς
Qui dixit ei : Vade in pace. Abiit ergo ab eo electo terrae tempore.
ወይቤሎ፡ ኤልሳዕ፡ ለንእማን፡ እቱ፡ እንከሰ፡ በሰላም፡ ወአተወ፡ በሰላም፡ እምኀቤሁ፡ ውስተ፡ ብሔሩ፡ ዴብላታ።
He said to him, “Go in peace.” So he departed from him a little way.
5:20
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר גֵּיחֲזִ֗י נַ֘עַר֮ אֱלִישָׁ֣ע אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִים֒ הִנֵּ֣ה׀ חָשַׂ֣ךְ אֲדֹנִ֗י אֶֽת־נַעֲמָ֤ן הָאֲרַמִּי֙ הַזֶּ֔ה מִקַּ֥חַת מִיָּד֖וֹ אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁר־הֵבִ֑יא חַי־יְהֹוָה֙ כִּֽי־אִם־רַ֣צְתִּי אַחֲרָ֔יו וְלָקַחְתִּ֥י מֵאִתּ֖וֹ מְאֽוּמָה׃
καὶ εἶπεν Γιεζι τὸ παιδάριον Ελισαιε ἰδοὺ ἐφείσατο ὁ κύριός μου τοῦ Ναιμαν τοῦ Σύρου τούτου τοῦ μὴ λαβεῖν ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτοῦ ἃ ἐνήνοχεν ζῇ κύριος ὅτι εἰ μὴ δραμοῦμαι ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ καὶ λήμψομαι παρ’ αὐτοῦ τι
Dixitque Giezi puer viri Dei : Pepercit dominus meus Naaman Syro isti, ut non acciperet ab eo quae attulit : vivit Dominus, quia curram post eum, et accipiam ab eo aliquid.
ወይቤ፡ ግያዝ፡ ቍልዔሁ፡ ለኤልሳዕ፡ ናሁ፡ ምሕኮ፡ እግዚእየ፡ ለንእማን፡ ሶርያዊ፡ ወኢነሥአ፡ እምኔሁ፡ ወኢምንተኒ፡ እምውስተ፡ ዘአምጽአ፡ ሎቱ ፤ ሕያው፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ እረውጽ፡ እትልዎ፡ ወእነሥእ፡ እምኔሁ፡ ዘኮነ።
But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought. As Yahweh lives, I will run after him, and take something from him.”
5:21
וַיִּרְדֹּ֥ף גֵּיחֲזִ֖י אַחֲרֵ֣י נַעֲמָ֑ן וַיִּרְאֶ֤ה נַֽעֲמָן֙ רָ֣ץ אַחֲרָ֔יו וַיִּפֹּ֞ל מֵעַ֧ל הַמֶּרְכָּבָ֛ה לִקְרָאת֖וֹ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר הֲשָׁלֽוֹם׃
καὶ ἐδίωξε Γιεζι ὀπίσω τοῦ Ναιμαν καὶ εἶδεν αὐτὸν Ναιμαν τρέχοντα ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἅρματος εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτοῦ
Et secutus est Giezi post tergum Naaman : quem cum vidisset ille currentem ad se, desiliit de curru in occursum ejus, et ait : Rectene sunt omnia ?
ወዴገኖ፡ ግያዝ፡ ወተለዎ፡ ለንእማን፡ ወተመይጠ፡ ንእማን፡ ወርእዮ፡ እንዘ፡ ይተልዎ፡ እምድኅሬሁ፡ ወወረደ፡ እምውስተ፡ ሰረገላሁ፡ ወገብአ፡ ወተቀበሎ።
So Gehazi followed after Naaman. When Naaman saw one running after him, he came down from the chariot to meet him, and said, “Is all well?”
5:22
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר׀ שָׁל֗וֹם אֲדֹנִי֮ שְׁלָחַ֣נִי לֵאמֹר֒ הִנֵּ֣ה עַתָּ֡ה זֶ֠ה בָּ֣אוּ אֵלַ֧י שְׁנֵֽי־נְעָרִ֛ים מֵהַ֥ר אֶפְרַ֖יִם מִבְּנֵ֣י הַנְּבִיאִ֑ים תְּנָה־נָּ֤א לָהֶם֙ כִּכַּר־כֶּ֔סֶף וּשְׁתֵּ֖י חֲלִפ֥וֹת בְּגָדִֽים׃
καὶ εἶπεν εἰρήνη ὁ κύριός μου ἀπέστειλέν με λέγων ἰδοὺ νῦν ἦλθον πρός με δύο παιδάρια ἐξ ὄρους Εφραιμ ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν τῶν προφητῶν δὸς δὴ αὐτοῖς τάλαντον ἀργυρίου καὶ δύο ἀλλασσομένας στολάς
Et ille ait : Recte. Dominus meus misit me ad te dicens : Modo venerunt ad me duo adolescentes de monte Ephraim, ex filiis prophetarum : da eis talentum argenti, et vestes mutatorias duplices.
ወይቤሎ፡ ሰላም፡ ለከ ፤ እግዚእየ፡ ለአከኒ፡ ኀቤከ፡ ወይቤለከ፡ እስመአ፡ በጽሑአ፡ ኀቤየ፡ ፪ዕደው፡ እምነ፡ ደብረ፡ ኤፍራም፡ እምውስተ፡ ደቀ፡ ነቢያት፡ ወሀቦሙ፡ መክሊተ፡ ብሩርአ፡ ወ፪አልባስ፡ ዐራዞሙአ።
He said, “All is well. My master has sent me, saying, ‘Behold, even now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothing.’”
5:23
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר נַעֲמָ֔ן הוֹאֵ֖ל קַ֣ח כִּכָּרָ֑יִם וַיִּפְרׇץ־בּ֗וֹ וַיָּ֩צַר֩ כִּכְּרַ֨יִם כֶּ֜סֶף בִּשְׁנֵ֣י חֲרִטִ֗ים וּשְׁתֵּי֙ חֲלִפ֣וֹת בְּגָדִ֔ים וַיִּתֵּן֙ אֶל־שְׁנֵ֣י נְעָרָ֔יו וַיִּשְׂא֖וּ לְפָנָֽיו׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ναιμαν λαβὲ διτάλαντον ἀργυρίου καὶ ἔλαβεν ἐν δυσὶ θυλάκοις καὶ δύο ἀλλασσομένας στολὰς καὶ ἔδωκεν ἐπὶ δύο παιδάρια αὐτοῦ καὶ ἦραν ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ
Dixitque Naaman : Melius est ut accipias duo talenta. Et coëgit eum, ligavitque duo talenta argenti in duobus saccis, et duplicia vestimenta, et imposuit duobus pueris suis, qui et portaverunt coram eo.
ወይቤሎ፡ ንእማን፡ ንሣእ፡ ፪መክሊተ፡ ወነሥአ፡ ወወደዮ፡ ውስተ፡ መሥንቅ፡ ፪ወአልባሰ፡ ዐራዝ፡ ፪ወአጾረ፡ ሎቱ፡ ፪እምውስተ፡ ደቁ፡ ወሖሩ፡ ቅድሜሁ።
Naaman said, “Be pleased to take two talents.” He urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and laid them on two of his servants; and they carried them before him.
5:24
וַיָּבֹא֙ אֶל־הָעֹ֔פֶל וַיִּקַּ֥ח מִיָּדָ֖ם וַיִּפְקֹ֣ד בַּבָּ֑יִת וַיְשַׁלַּ֥ח אֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים וַיֵּלֵֽכוּ׃
καὶ ἦλθον εἰς τὸ σκοτεινόν καὶ ἔλαβεν ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν καὶ παρέθετο ἐν οἴκῳ καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν τοὺς ἄνδρας
Cumque venisset jam vesperi, tulit de manu eorum, et reposuit in domo, dimisitque viros, et abierunt.
ወቦኡ፡ ውስተ፡ ጽልመት፡ ወእምዝ፡ ተመጠዎሙ፡ ወአብአ፡ ቤቶ፡ ወፈነዎሙ፡ ለእሙንቱ፡ ዕደው።
When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand, and stored them in the house. Then he let the men go, and they departed.
5:25
וְהוּא־בָא֙ וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד אֶל־אֲדֹנָ֔יו וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ אֱלִישָׁ֔ע (מאן) [מֵאַ֖יִן] גֵּחֲזִ֑י וַיֹּ֕אמֶר לֹא־הָלַ֥ךְ עַבְדְּךָ֖ אָ֥נֶה וָאָֽנָה׃
καὶ αὐτὸς εἰσῆλθεν καὶ παρειστήκει πρὸς τὸν κύριον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Ελισαιε πόθεν Γιεζι καὶ εἶπεν Γιεζι οὐ πεπόρευται ὁ δοῦλός σου ἔνθα καὶ ἔνθα
Ipse autem ingressus, stetit coram domino suo. Et dixit Eliseus : Unde venis, Giezi ? Qui respondit : Non ivit servus tuus quoquam.
ወእምዝ፡ ቦአ፡ ወቆመ፡ ቅድመ፡ እግዚኡ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ኤልሳዕ፡ ለግያዝ፡ እምአይቴ፡ አንተ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ግያዝ፡ አልቦ፡ ኀበ፡ ሖረ፡ ገብርከ፡ ወኢአይቴኒ።
But he went in, and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, “Where did you come from, Gehazi?” He said, “Your servant went nowhere.”
5:26
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָיו֙ לֹֽא־לִבִּ֣י הָלַ֔ךְ כַּאֲשֶׁ֧ר הָפַךְ־אִ֛ישׁ מֵעַ֥ל מֶרְכַּבְתּ֖וֹ לִקְרָאתֶ֑ךָ הַעֵ֞ת לָקַ֤חַת אֶת־הַכֶּ֙סֶף֙ וְלָקַ֣חַת בְּגָדִ֔ים וְזֵיתִ֤ים וּכְרָמִים֙ וְצֹ֣אן וּבָקָ֔ר וַעֲבָדִ֖ים וּשְׁפָחֽוֹת׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Ελισαιε οὐχὶ ἡ καρδία μου ἐπορεύθη μετὰ σοῦ ὅτε ἐπέστρεψεν ὁ ἀνὴρ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἅρματος εἰς συναντήν σοι καὶ νῦν ἔλαβες τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ νῦν ἔλαβες τὰ ἱμάτια καὶ λήμψῃ ἐν αὐτῷ κήπους καὶ ἐλαιῶνας καὶ ἀμπελῶνας καὶ πρόβατα καὶ βόας καὶ παῖδας καὶ παιδίσκας
At ille ait : Nonne cor meum in praesenti erat, quando reversus est homo de curru suo in occursum tui ? nunc igitur accepisti argentum, et accepisti vestes ut emas oliveta, et vineas, et oves, et boves, et servos, et ancillas.
ወይቤሎ፡ ኤልሳዕ፡ አኮኑ፡ ልብየ፡ ሖረ፡ ምስሌከ፡ ወሶበ፡ ተመይጠ፡ ብእሲ፡ እምላዕለ፡ ሰረገላሁ፡ ወተቀበለከ፡ ወይእዜኒ፡ ወርቅስ፡ ነሣእከ፡ ወይእዜኒ፡ አልባስ፡ ነሣእከ፡ ወይኩንከ፡ ለዐጸደ፡ ወይን፡ ወለዐጸደ፡ ወፍር፡ ወለዐጸደ፡ ቅብእ፡ ወለአልህምትኒ፡ ወለአባግዕኒ፡ ወለአግብርትኒ፡ ወለአእማትኒ።
He said to him, “Didn’t my heart go with you when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive groves and vineyards, and sheep and cattle, and male servants and female servants?
5:27
וְצָרַ֤עַת נַֽעֲמָן֙ תִּֽדְבַּק־בְּךָ֔ וּֽבְזַרְעֲךָ֖ לְעוֹלָ֑ם וַיֵּצֵ֥א מִלְּפָנָ֖יו מְצֹרָ֥ע כַּשָּֽׁלֶג׃
καὶ ἡ λέπρα Ναιμαν κολληθήσεται ἐν σοὶ καὶ ἐν τῷ σπέρματί σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ προσώπου αὐτοῦ λελεπρωμένος ὡσεὶ χιών
Sed et lepra Naaman adhaerebit tibi, et semini tuo usque in sempiternum. Et egressus est ab eo leprosus quasi nix.
ወባሕቱ፡ ለምጹ፡ ለንእማን፡ ይግባእ፡ ላዕሌከ፡ ወላዕለ፡ ውሉድከ፡ እስከ፡ ለዓለም ፤ወበጊዜሃ፡ አኀዞ፡ ለምጸ፡ ንእማን፡ ለግያዝ፡ ወወፅአ፡ እምቅድመ፡ ገጹ፡ ለኤልሳዕ፡ ግያዝ፡ እንዘ፡ ኵለንታሁ፡ ለምጽ፡ ጸዐዳ፡ ከመ፡ በረድ።
Therefore the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your offspring forever.” He went out from his presence a leper, as white as snow.
