9:1
וֶֽאֱלִישָׁע֙ הַנָּבִ֔יא קָרָ֕א לְאַחַ֖ד מִבְּנֵ֣י הַנְּבִיאִ֑ים וַיֹּ֨אמֶר ל֜וֹ חֲגֹ֣ר מׇתְנֶ֗יךָ וְ֠קַ֠ח פַּ֣ךְ הַשֶּׁ֤מֶן הַזֶּה֙ בְּיָדֶ֔ךָ וְלֵ֖ךְ רָמֹ֥ת גִּלְעָֽד׃
καὶ Ελισαιε ὁ προφήτης ἐκάλεσεν ἕνα τῶν υἱῶν τῶν προφητῶν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ζῶσαι τὴν ὀσφύν σου καὶ λαβὲ τὸν φακὸν τοῦ ἐλαίου τούτου ἐν τῇ χειρί σου καὶ δεῦρο εἰς Ρεμμωθ Γαλααδ
Eliseus autem prophetes vocavit unum de filiis prophetarum, et ait illi : Accinge lumbos tuos, et tolle lenticulam olei hanc in manu tua, et vade in Ramoth Galaad.
ወጸውዐ፡ ኤልሳዕ፡ ነቢይ፡ ፩እምውስተ፡ ደቀ፡ ነቢያት፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ቅንት፡ ሐቇከ፡ ወንሣእ፡ ቀርነ፡ ቅብእ፡ ምስሌከ፡ ወሖር፡ ሬማተ፡ ዘገለአድ።
Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.
9:2
וּבָ֖אתָ־שָּׁ֑מָּה וּרְאֵה־שָׁ֠ם יֵה֨וּא בֶן־יְהוֹשָׁפָ֜ט בֶּן־נִמְשִׁ֗י וּבָ֙אתָ֙ וַהֲקֵֽמֹתוֹ֙ מִתּ֣וֹךְ אֶחָ֔יו וְהֵבֵיאתָ֥ אֹת֖וֹ חֶ֥דֶר בְּחָֽדֶר׃
καὶ εἰσελεύσῃ ἐκεῖ καὶ ὄψῃ ἐκεῖ Ιου υἱὸν Ιωσαφατ υἱοῦ Ναμεσσι καὶ εἰσελεύσῃ καὶ ἀναστήσεις αὐτὸν ἐκ μέσου τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰσάξεις αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ ταμίειον ἐν τῷ ταμιείῳ
Cumque veneris illuc, videbis Jehu filium Josaphat filii Namsi : et ingressus suscitabis eum de medio fratrum suorum, et introduces in interius cubiculum.
ወባእ፡ ህየ፡ ወኅሥሦ፡ በህየ፡ ለኢዩ፡ ወልደ፡ ኢዮሳፍጥ፡ ወልደ፡ ናሜሲ፡ ወባእ፡ ወአንሥኦ፡ እማእከለ፡ አኀዊሁ፡ ወአብኦ፡ ውስተ፡ ውሳጢተ፡ ጽርሕ።
When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in and make him rise up from among his brothers, and take him to an inner room.
9:3
וְלָקַחְתָּ֤ פַךְ־הַשֶּׁ֙מֶן֙ וְיָצַקְתָּ֣ עַל־רֹאשׁ֔וֹ וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה מְשַׁחְתִּ֥יךָ לְמֶ֖לֶךְ אֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּפָתַחְתָּ֥ הַדֶּ֛לֶת וְנַ֖סְתָּה וְלֹ֥א תְחַכֶּֽה׃
καὶ λήμψῃ τὸν φακὸν τοῦ ἐλαίου καὶ ἐπιχεεῖς ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰπόν τάδε λέγει κύριος κέχρικά σε εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀνοίξεις τὴν θύραν καὶ φεύξῃ καὶ οὐ μενεῖς
Tenensque lenticulam olei, fundes super caput ejus, et dices : Haec dicit Dominus : Unxi te regem super Israël. Aperiesque ostium, et fugies, et non ibi subsistes.
ወንሣእ፡ ቀርነ፡ ቅብእ፡ ወሱጥ፡ ውስተ፡ ርእሱ፡ ወበሎ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ቀባእኩከአ፡ ትንግሥአ፡ ላዕለ፡ እስራኤልአ፡ ወእምዝ፡ አርኁ፡ ኆኅተ፡ ወጕየይ፡ ወኢትቁም።
Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘Yahweh says, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”
9:4
וַיֵּ֧לֶךְ הַנַּ֛עַר הַנַּ֥עַר הַנָּבִ֖יא רָמֹ֥ת גִּלְעָֽד׃
καὶ ἐπορεύθη τὸ παιδάριον ὁ προφήτης εἰς Ρεμμωθ Γαλααδ
Abiit ergo adolescens puer prophetae in Ramoth Galaad,
ወሖረ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወልደ፡ ነቢይ፡ ውስተ፡ ሬማት፡ ዘገለአድ።
So the young man, the young prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.
9:5
וַיָּבֹ֗א וְהִנֵּ֨ה שָׂרֵ֤י הַחַ֙יִל֙ יֹֽשְׁבִ֔ים וַיֹּ֕אמֶר דָּבָ֥ר לִ֛י אֵלֶ֖יךָ הַשָּׂ֑ר וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יֵהוּא֙ אֶל־מִ֣י מִכֻּלָּ֔נוּ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֵלֶ֥יךָ הַשָּֽׂר׃
καὶ εἰσῆλθεν καὶ ἰδοὺ οἱ ἄρχοντες τῆς δυνάμεως ἐκάθηντο καὶ εἶπεν λόγος μοι πρὸς σέ ὁ ἄρχων καὶ εἶπεν Ιου πρὸς τίνα ἐκ πάντων ἡμῶν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς σέ ὁ ἄρχων
et ingressus est illuc : ecce autem principes exercitus sedebant : et ait : Verbum mihi ad te, o princeps. Dixitque Jehu : Ad quem ex omnibus nobis ? At ille dixit : Ad te, o princeps.
ወረከበ፡ መላእክተ፡ ሰራዊት፡ ይነብሩ፡ ወይቤ፡ ብየ፡ ዘእነግረከ፡ መልአክ፡ ወይቤ፡ ኢዩ፡ መኑ፡ እምውስቴትነ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ኪያከ፡ መልአክ።
When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which one of us?” He said, “To you, O captain.”
9:6
וַיָּ֙קׇם֙ וַיָּבֹ֣א הַבַּ֔יְתָה וַיִּצֹ֥ק הַשֶּׁ֖מֶן אֶל־רֹאשׁ֑וֹ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֗וֹ כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מְשַׁחְתִּ֧יךָ לְמֶ֛לֶךְ אֶל־עַ֥ם יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἀνέστη καὶ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον καὶ ἐπέχεεν τὸ ἔλαιον ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ κέχρικά σε εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ λαὸν κυρίου ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ
Et surrexit, et ingressus est cubiculum : at ille fudit oleum super caput ejus, et ait : Haec dicit Dominus Deus Israël : Unxi te regem super populum Domini Israël,
ወተንሥአ፡ ወቦአ፡ ቤተ፡ ወሶጠ፡ ቅብአ፡ ውስተ፡ ርእሱ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ቀባእኩከአ፡ ትንግሥአ፡ ለሕዝበአ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለእስራኤልአ ፤
He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.
9:7
וְהִ֨כִּיתָ֔ה אֶת־בֵּ֥ית אַחְאָ֖ב אֲדֹנֶ֑יךָ וְנִקַּמְתִּ֞י דְּמֵ֣י׀ עֲבָדַ֣י הַנְּבִיאִ֗ים וּדְמֵ֛י כׇּל־עַבְדֵ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה מִיַּ֥ד אִיזָֽבֶל׃
καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσεις τὸν οἶκον Αχααβ τοῦ κυρίου σου ἐκ προσώπου μου καὶ ἐκδικήσεις τὰ αἵματα τῶν δούλων μου τῶν προφητῶν καὶ τὰ αἵματα πάντων τῶν δούλων κυρίου ἐκ χειρὸς Ιεζαβελ
et percuties domum Achab domini tui, et ulciscar sanguinem servorum meorum prophetarum, et sanguinem omnium servorum Domini de manu Jezabel.
ከመአ፡ ትሠርዎአ፡ ለቤተአ፡ አካአብ፡ እግዚእከ፡ እምቅድመ፡ ገጽየ፡ ወትትበቀል፡ ደሞሙ፡ ለነቢያት፡ ለአግብርትየ፡ ወደመ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ አግብርተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እምነ፡ እዴሃ፡ ለኤልዛቤል ፤
You must strike your master Ahab’s house, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.
9:8
וְאָבַ֖ד כׇּל־בֵּ֣ית אַחְאָ֑ב וְהִכְרַתִּ֤י לְאַחְאָב֙ מַשְׁתִּ֣ין בְּקִ֔יר וְעָצ֥וּר וְעָז֖וּב בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς ὅλου τοῦ οἴκου Αχααβ καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσεις τῷ οἴκῳ Αχααβ οὐροῦντα πρὸς τοῖχον καὶ συνεχόμενον καὶ ἐγκαταλελειμμένον ἐν Ισραηλ
Perdamque omnem domum Achab : et interficiam de Achab mingentem ad parietem, et clausum et novissimum in Israël.
ወእምእደ፡ ኵሉ፡ ቤቱ፡ ለአካአብ፡ ወትሤርዎ፡ ለቤተ፡ አካአብ፡ እስከ፡ ዘያስተአዝብ፡ በኀበ፡ አረፍት፡ ወኵሎ፡ ቅሩበ፡ ዘይከውን፡ ወኵሎ፡ ዘተረፈ፡ እምኔሆሙ፡ ውስተ፡ እስራኤል።
For the whole house of Ahab will perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.
9:9
וְנָֽתַתִּי֙ אֶת־בֵּ֣ית אַחְאָ֔ב כְּבֵ֖ית יָרׇבְעָ֣ם בֶּן־נְבָ֑ט וּכְבֵ֖ית בַּעְשָׁ֥א בֶן־אֲחִיָּֽה׃
καὶ δώσω τὸν οἶκον Αχααβ ὡς τὸν οἶκον Ιεροβοαμ υἱοῦ Ναβατ καὶ ὡς τὸν οἶκον Βαασα υἱοῦ Αχια
Et dabo domum Achab sicut domum Jeroboam filii Nabat, et sicut domum Baasa filii Ahia.
ወእሬስዮ፡ ለቤተ፡ አካአብ፡ ከመ፡ ቤተ፡ ኢዮራብአም፡ ወልደ፡ ናባጥ፡ ወከመ፡ ቤተ፡ በአስ፡ ወልደ፡ አኪያ።
I will make Ahab’s house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
9:10
וְאֶת־אִיזֶ֜בֶל יֹאכְל֧וּ הַכְּלָבִ֛ים בְּחֵ֥לֶק יִזְרְעֶ֖אל וְאֵ֣ין קֹבֵ֑ר וַיִּפְתַּ֥ח הַדֶּ֖לֶת וַיָּנֹֽס׃
καὶ τὴν Ιεζαβελ καταφάγονται οἱ κύνες ἐν τῇ μερίδι Ιεζραελ καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ὁ θάπτων καὶ ἤνοιξεν τὴν θύραν καὶ ἔφυγεν
Jezabel quoque comedent canes in agro Jezrahel, nec erit qui sepeliat eam. Aperuitque ostium, et fugit.
ወለኢያዛቤል፡ ከለባት፡ ይበልዕዋ፡ በብሔረ፡ እስራኤልአ፡ ወኢትረክብአ፡ ዘይቀብራአ ፤ ወእምዝ፡ አርኀወ፡ ኆኅተ፡ ወጐየ።
The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be no one to bury her.’” Then he opened the door and fled.
9:11
וְיֵה֗וּא יָצָא֙ אֶל־עַבְדֵ֣י אֲדֹנָ֔יו וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ הֲשָׁל֔וֹם מַדּ֛וּעַ בָּֽא־הַמְשֻׁגָּ֥ע הַזֶּ֖ה אֵלֶ֑יךָ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם אַתֶּ֛ם יְדַעְתֶּ֥ם אֶת־הָאִ֖ישׁ וְאֶת־שִׂיחֽוֹ׃
καὶ Ιου ἐξῆλθεν πρὸς τοὺς παῖδας τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ εἰ εἰρήνη τί ὅτι εἰσῆλθεν ὁ ἐπίλημπτος οὗτος πρὸς σέ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς οἴδατε τὸν ἄνδρα καὶ τὴν ἀδολεσχίαν αὐτοῦ
Jehu autem egressus est ad servos domini sui : qui dixerunt ei : Rectene sunt omnia ? quid venit insanus iste ad te ? Qui ait eis : Nostis hominem, et quid locutus sit.
ወወፅአ፡ ኢዩ፡ ኀበ፡ ደቀ፡ እግዚኡ፡ ወይቤልዎ፡ ሰላም፡ ለከ፡ ምንትኑ፡ መጽአ፡ ዝብእሲ፡ ኀቤከ፡ ወይቤሎሙ፡ ኢታአምርዎኑ፡ ዝብእሲ፡ ከመ፡ በከ፡ ይዛዋዕ።
When Jehu came out to the servants of his lord and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this madman come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and how he talks.”
9:12
וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ שֶׁ֔קֶר הַגֶּד־נָ֖א לָ֑נוּ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר כָּזֹ֤את וְכָזֹאת֙ אָמַ֤ר אֵלַי֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה מְשַׁחְתִּ֥יךָ לְמֶ֖לֶךְ אֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ εἶπον ἄδικον ἀπάγγειλον δὴ ἡμῖν καὶ εἶπεν Ιου πρὸς αὐτούς οὕτως καὶ οὕτως ἐλάλησεν πρός με λέγων τάδε λέγει κύριος κέχρικά σε εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ
At ille responderunt : Falsum est, sed magis narra nobis. Qui ait eis : Haec et haec locutus est mihi, et ait : Haec dicit Dominus : Unxi te regem super Israël.
ወይቤልዎ፡ ሐሰውከ ፤ ንግረነ፡ ዳእሙ፡ ወይቤሎሙ፡ ኢዩ፡ ለደቁ፡ ከመዝ፡ ወከመዝ፡ ይቤለኒ፡ ወይቤለኒ፡ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ቀባእኩከአ፡ ትንግሥአ፡ ለእስራኤልአ።
They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘Yahweh says, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”
9:13
וַֽיְמַהֲר֗וּ וַיִּקְחוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ בִּגְד֔וֹ וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ תַחְתָּ֖יו אֶל־גֶּ֣רֶם הַֽמַּעֲל֑וֹת וַֽיִּתְקְעוּ֙ בַּשּׁוֹפָ֔ר וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ מָלַ֥ךְ יֵהֽוּא׃
καὶ ἀκούσαντες ἔσπευσαν καὶ ἔλαβον ἕκαστος τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔθηκαν ὑποκάτω αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ γαρεμ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν καὶ ἐσάλπισαν ἐν κερατίνῃ καὶ εἶπον ἐβασίλευσεν Ιου
Festinaverunt itaque, et unusquisque tollens pallium suum posuerunt sub pedibus ejus in similitudinem tribunalis, et cecinerunt tuba, atque dixerunt : Regnavit Jehu.
ወሶበ፡ ሰምዑ፡ አስተፋጠኑ፡ ወነጸፉ፡ አልባሲሆሙ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ወነጸፉ፡ ሎቱ፡ ኀበ፡ ይነብር፡ ውስተ፡ መዓርግ፡ ወነፍኁ፡ ቀርነ፡ ወይቤሉ፡ ነግሠ፡ ኢዩ።
Then they hurried, and each man took his cloak, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”
9:14
וַיִּתְקַשֵּׁ֗ר יֵה֛וּא בֶּן־יְהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט בֶּן־נִמְשִׁ֖י אֶל־יוֹרָ֑ם וְיוֹרָם֩ הָיָ֨ה שֹׁמֵ֜ר בְּרָמֹ֣ת גִּלְעָ֗ד ה֚וּא וְכׇל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִפְּנֵ֖י חֲזָאֵ֥ל מֶלֶךְ־אֲרָֽם׃
καὶ συνεστράφη Ιου υἱὸς Ιωσαφατ υἱοῦ Ναμεσσι πρὸς Ιωραμ καὶ Ιωραμ αὐτὸς ἐφύλασσεν ἐν Ρεμμωθ Γαλααδ αὐτὸς καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ ἀπὸ προσώπου Αζαηλ βασιλέως Συρίας
Conjuravit ergo Jehu filius Josaphat filii Namsi contra Joram : porro Joram obsederat Ramoth Galaad, ipse et omnis Israël contra Hazaël regem Syriae :
ወጸብአ፡ ኢዩ፡ ወልደ፡ ዮሳፍጥ፡ ወልደ፡ ናሜስ፡ ለኢዮራም፡ ወኢዮራምሰ፡ ሀሎ፡ ውስተ፡ ሬማት፡ ዘገለዓድ፡ የዐቅብዎ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እስራኤል፡ እምነ፡ አዛሔል፡ ንጉሠ፡ ሶርያ።
So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was defending Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;
9:15
וַיָּ֩שׇׁב֩ יְהוֹרָ֨ם הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ לְהִתְרַפֵּ֣א בְיִזְרְעֶ֗אל מִן־הַמַּכִּים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יַכֻּ֣הוּ אֲרַמִּ֔ים בְּהִלָּ֣חֲמ֔וֹ אֶת־חֲזָאֵ֖ל מֶ֣לֶךְ אֲרָ֑ם וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יֵהוּא֙ אִם־יֵ֣שׁ נַפְשְׁכֶ֔ם אַל־יֵצֵ֤א פָלִיט֙ מִן־הָעִ֔יר לָלֶ֖כֶת (לגיד) [לְהַגִּ֥יד] בְּיִזְרְעֶֽאל׃
καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Ιωραμ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἰατρευθῆναι ἐν Ιεζραελ ἀπὸ τῶν πληγῶν ὧν ἔπαισαν αὐτὸν οἱ Σύροι ἐν τῷ πολεμεῖν αὐτὸν μετὰ Αζαηλ βασιλέως Συρίας καὶ εἶπεν Ιου εἰ ἔστιν ἡ ψυχὴ ὑμῶν μετ’ ἐμοῦ μὴ ἐξελθέτω ἐκ τῆς πόλεως διαπεφευγὼς τοῦ πορευθῆναι καὶ ἀπαγγεῖλαι ἐν Ιεζραελ
et reversus fuerat ut curaretur in Jezrahel propter vulnera, quia percusserant eum Syri praeliantem contra Hazaël regem Syriae. Dixitque Jehu : Si placet vobis, nemo egrediatur profugus de civitate, ne vadat, et nuntiet in Jezrahel.
ወገብአ፡ ኢዮራም፡ ንጉሥ፡ ኀበ፡ እስራኤል፡ ይትፈወስ፡ እምነ፡ ቍስሉ፡ ዘአቍሰልዎ፡ ሶርያ፡ አመ፡ ተቃተለ፡ ምስለ፡ አዛሔል፡ ንጉሠ፡ ሶርያ፡ ወይቤሎሙ፡ ኢዩ፡ ለእለ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ትክሉኑ፡ መጥዎ፡ ነፍስክሙ፡ ምስሌየ፡ ዑቁ፡ እንከ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘያመስጠክሙ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘይወፅእ፡ እምነ፡ ሀገርክሙ፡ ኢይዜንውዎሙ፡ ለእስራኤል።
but King Joram had returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, “If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city to go to tell it in Jezreel.”
9:16
וַיִּרְכַּ֤ב יֵהוּא֙ וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ יִזְרְעֶ֔אלָה כִּ֥י יוֹרָ֖ם שֹׁכֵ֣ב שָׁ֑מָּה וַֽאֲחַזְיָה֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה יָרַ֖ד לִרְא֥וֹת אֶת־יוֹרָֽם׃
καὶ ἵππευσεν καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ιου καὶ κατέβη εἰς Ιεζραελ ὅτι Ιωραμ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ ἐθεραπεύετο ἐν Ιεζραελ ἀπὸ τῶν τοξευμάτων ὧν κατετόξευσαν αὐτὸν οἱ Αραμιν ἐν τῇ Ραμμαθ ἐν τῷ πολέμῳ μετὰ Αζαηλ βασιλέως Συρίας ὅτι αὐτὸς δυνατὸς καὶ ἀνὴρ δυνάμεως καὶ Οχοζιας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα κατέβη ἰδεῖν τὸν Ιωραμ
Et ascendit, et profectus est in Jezrahel : Joram enim aegrotabat ibi, et Ochozias rex Juda descenderat ad visitandum Joram.
ወእምዝ፡ ሖረ፡ ኢዩ፡ ፍጡነ፡ ኀበ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወወረደ፡ ወኢዮራምሰ፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ሀለወ፡ ውስተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ይትፌወስ፡ ንድፈቶ፡ ኀበ፡ ነደፍዎ፡ ሶርያ፡ አረማዊያን፡ በሬማት፡ አመ፡ ተቃተለ፡ ምስለ፡ አዛሔል፡ ንጉሠ፡ ሶርያ፡ እስመ፡ ጽኑዕ፡ ብእሲ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወኀያል፡ ውእቱ ፤ ወአካዝያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወረደ፡ ይርአዮ፡ ለኢዮራም።
So Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.
9:17
וְהַצֹּפֶה֩ עֹמֵ֨ד עַֽל־הַמִּגְדָּ֜ל בְּיִזְרְעֶ֗אל וַיַּ֞רְא אֶת־שִׁפְעַ֤ת יֵהוּא֙ בְּבֹא֔וֹ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר שִׁפְעַ֖ת אֲנִ֣י רֹאֶ֑ה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוֹרָ֗ם קַ֥ח רַכָּ֛ב וּֽשְׁלַ֥ח לִקְרָאתָ֖ם וְיֹאמַ֥ר הֲשָׁלֽוֹם׃
καὶ ὁ σκοπὸς ἀνέβη ἐπὶ τὸν πύργον ἐν Ιεζραελ καὶ εἶδεν τὸν κονιορτὸν Ιου ἐν τῷ παραγίνεσθαι αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν Κονιορτὸν ἐγὼ βλέπω καὶ εἶπεν Ιωραμ λαβὲ ἐπιβάτην καὶ ἀπόστειλον ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν καὶ εἰπάτω εἰ εἰρήνη
Igitur speculator qui stabat super turrim Jezrahel, vidit globum Jehu venientis, et ait : Video ego globum. Dixitque Joram : Tolle currum, et mitte in occursum eorum, et dicat vadens : Rectene sunt omnia ?
ወዐርገ፡ ሰብአ፡ ዐይን፡ ውስተ፡ ማኅፈድ፡ ይርአዮሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ወርእየ፡ ጸበሎሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ኢዩ፡ እንዘ፡ ይመጽኡ፡ ወይቤ፡ ናሁ፡ ጸበለ፡ እሬኢ፡ አንሰ ፤ ወይቤ፡ ኢዮራም፡ ይሖር፡ ፩ያሩጽ፡ ፈረሰ፡ ይትቀበሎሙ፡ ወይበሎሙ፡ ሰላም፡ ለክሙ።
Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”
9:18
וַיֵּ֩לֶךְ֩ רֹכֵ֨ב הַסּ֜וּס לִקְרָאת֗וֹ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ הֲשָׁל֔וֹם וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יֵה֛וּא מַה־לְּךָ֥ וּלְשָׁל֖וֹם סֹ֣ב אֶֽל־אַחֲרָ֑י וַיַּגֵּ֤ד הַצֹּפֶה֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר בָּא־הַמַּלְאָ֥ךְ עַד־הֵ֖ם וְלֹא־שָֽׁב׃
καὶ ἐπορεύθη ἐπιβάτης ἵππου εἰς ἀπαντὴν αὐτῶν καὶ εἶπεν τάδε λέγει ὁ βασιλεύς εἰ εἰρήνη καὶ εἶπεν Ιου τί σοι καὶ εἰρήνῃ ἐπίστρεφε εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω μου καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν ὁ σκοπὸς λέγων ἦλθεν ὁ ἄγγελος ἕως αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἀνέστρεψεν
Abiit ergo qui ascenderat currum, in occursum ejus, et ait : Haec dicit rex : Pacatane sunt omnia ? Dixitque Jehu : Quid tibi et paci ? transi, et sequere me. Nuntiavit quoque speculator, dicens : Venit nuntius ad eos, et non revertitur.
ወሖረ፡ ፩አሮጸ፡ ፈረሰ፡ ወተቀበሎሙ፡ ወይቤሎሙ፡ ሰላም፡ ለክሙ፡ ይቤለክሙ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ኢዩ፡ ምንተ፡ ብከ፡ ምስለ፡ ሰላም ፤ ግባእ፡ ድኅሬየ ፤ ወነገሮሙ፡ ዝኩ፡ ሰብእ፡ ዐይን፡ ወይቤሎሙ፡ በጽሐ፡ ዘለአክሙ፡ ኀቤሆሙ፡ ወኢገብአ።
So one went on horseback to meet him, and said, “the king says, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”
9:19
וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח רֹכֵ֣ב סוּס֮ שֵׁנִי֒ וַיָּבֹ֣א אֲלֵהֶ֔ם וַיֹּ֛אמֶר כֹּה־אָמַ֥ר הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ שָׁל֑וֹם וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יֵה֛וּא מַה־לְּךָ֥ וּלְשָׁל֖וֹם סֹ֥ב אֶֽל־אַחֲרָֽי׃
καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἐπιβάτην ἵππου δεύτερον καὶ ἦλθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν τάδε λέγει ὁ βασιλεύς εἰ εἰρήνη καὶ εἶπεν Ιου τί σοι καὶ εἰρήνῃ ἐπιστρέφου εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω μου
Misit etiam currum equorum secundum : venitque ad eos, et ait : Haec dicit rex : Numquid pax est ? Et ait Jehu : Quid tibi et paci ? transi, et sequere me.
ወፈነወ፡ ካዕበ፡ ካልአ፡ ያሩጽ፡ ፈረሰ፡ ወበጽሐ፡ ኀቤሆሙ፡ ወይቤሎሙ፡ ሰላምአ፡ ለክሙአ፡ ይቤ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ኢዩ፡ ምንተ፡ ብከ፡ ምስለ፡ ሰላም ፤ ግባእ፡ ድኅሬየ።
Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them and said, “The king says, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!”
9:20
וַיַּגֵּ֤ד הַצֹּפֶה֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר בָּ֥א עַד־אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם וְלֹא־שָׁ֑ב וְהַמִּנְהָ֗ג כְּמִנְהַג֙ יֵה֣וּא בֶן־נִמְשִׁ֔י כִּ֥י בְשִׁגָּע֖וֹן יִנְהָֽג׃
καὶ ἀπήγγειλεν ὁ σκοπὸς λέγων ἦλθεν ἕως αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἀνέστρεψεν καὶ ὁ ἄγων ἦγεν τὸν Ιου υἱὸν Ναμεσσιου ὅτι ἐν παραλλαγῇ ἐγένετο
Nuntiavit autem speculator, dicens : Venit usque ad eos, et non revertitur : est autem incessus quasi incessus Jehu filii Namsi, praeceps enim graditur.
ወነገሮ፡ ዝኩ፡ ሰብአ፡ ዐይን፡ ወይቤሎ፡ በጽሐ፡ ዘለአክሙ፡ ኀቤሆሙ፡ ወኢተመይጠ ፤ መሪሐ፡ ይመርሖ፡ ለኢዩ፡ ወልደ፡ ናሜሴ፡ እስመ፡ ካልእት፡ ፍኖቶሙ።
The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.”
9:21
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוֹרָם֙ אֱסֹ֔ר וַיֶּאְסֹ֖ר רִכְבּ֑וֹ וַיֵּצֵ֣א יְהוֹרָ֣ם מֶֽלֶךְ־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵ֠ל וַאֲחַזְיָ֨הוּ מֶלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֜ה אִ֣ישׁ בְּרִכְבּ֗וֹ וַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙ לִקְרַ֣את יֵה֔וּא וַיִּ֨מְצָאֻ֔הוּ בְּחֶלְקַ֖ת נָב֥וֹת הַיִּזְרְעֵאלִֽי׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ιωραμ ζεῦξον καὶ ἔζευξεν ἅρμα καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Ιωραμ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ Οχοζιας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα ἀνὴρ ἐν τῷ ἅρματι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξῆλθον εἰς ἀπαντὴν Ιου καὶ εὗρον αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ μερίδι Ναβουθαι τοῦ Ιεζραηλίτου
Et ait Joram : Junge currum. Junxeruntque currum ejus, et egressus est Joram rex Israël, et Ochozias rex Juda, singuli in curribus suis, egressique sunt in occursum Jehu, et invenerunt eum in agro Naboth Jezrahelitae.
ወይቤ፡ ኢዮራም፡ ንዑ፡ ንሖር፡ ወአሖሩ፡ ሰረገላቲሆሙ፡ ወወፅአ፡ ኢዮራም፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወአካዝያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ክልኤሆሙ፡ በሰረገላቲሆሙ፡ ወሖሩ፡ ወተቀበልዎ፡ ለኢዩ፡ ወረከብዎ፡ ውስተ፡ ዐጸደ፡ ናቡቴ፡ እስራኤላዊ።
Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Then Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot; and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him on Naboth the Jezreelite’s land.
9:22
וַיְהִ֗י כִּרְא֤וֹת יְהוֹרָם֙ אֶת־יֵה֔וּא וַיֹּ֖אמֶר הֲשָׁל֣וֹם יֵה֑וּא וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ מָ֣ה הַשָּׁל֔וֹם עַד־זְנוּנֵ֞י אִיזֶ֧בֶל אִמְּךָ֛ וּכְשָׁפֶ֖יהָ הָרַבִּֽים׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς εἶδεν Ιωραμ τὸν Ιου καὶ εἶπεν εἰ εἰρήνη Ιου καὶ εἶπεν Ιου τί εἰρήνη ἔτι αἱ πορνεῖαι Ιεζαβελ τῆς μητρός σου καὶ τὰ φάρμακα αὐτῆς τὰ πολλά
Cumque vidisset Joram Jehu, dixit : Pax est, Jehu ? At ille respondit : Quae pax ? adhuc fornicationes Jezabel matris tuae, et veneficia ejus multa, vigent.
ወይቤሎ፡ ሰላም፡ ለኢዩ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ እንከ፡ ኢዩ፡ ምንተ፡ ብከ፡ ምስለ፡ ሰላም፡ አኮኑ፡ ዝሙታ፡ ለእምካ፡ ኢያዛቤል፡ ወሥራያቲሃ፡ በዝኀ።
When Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”
9:23
וַיַּהֲפֹ֧ךְ יְהוֹרָ֛ם יָדָ֖יו וַיָּנֹ֑ס וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֶל־אֲחַזְיָ֖הוּ מִרְמָ֥ה אֲחַזְיָֽה׃
καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν Ιωραμ τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ τοῦ φυγεῖν καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς Οχοζιαν δόλος Οχοζια
Convertit autem Joram manum suam, et fugiens ait ad Ochoziam : Insidiae, Ochozia.
ወተመይጠ፡ ኢዮራም፡ ከመ፡ ይጕየይ፡ ወይቤሎ፡ ለአካዝ፡ ተጓሐለወነ፡ አካዝ።
Joram turned his hands and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “This is treason, Ahaziah!”
9:24
וְיֵה֞וּא מִלֵּ֧א יָד֣וֹ בַקֶּ֗שֶׁת וַיַּ֤ךְ אֶת־יְהוֹרָם֙ בֵּ֣ין זְרֹעָ֔יו וַיֵּצֵ֥א הַחֵ֖צִי מִלִּבּ֑וֹ וַיִּכְרַ֖ע בְּרִכְבּֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἔπλησεν Ιου τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ τόξῳ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὸν Ιωραμ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν βραχιόνων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξῆλθεν τὸ βέλος διὰ τῆς καρδίας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔκαμψεν ἐπὶ τὰ γόνατα αὐτοῦ
Porro Jehu tetendit arcum manu, et percussit Joram inter scapulas : et egressa est sagitta per cor ejus, statimque corruit in curru suo.
ወወሰቀ፡ ወመሰከ፡ ቀስቶ፡ በኀይሉ፡ ወነደፎ፡ ለኢዮራም፡ ማእከለ፡ ተኬሳሁ፡ ወወፅአ፡ ሐጹ፡ እንተ፡ ውስተ፡ ልቡ፡ ወወድቀ፡ በብረኪሁ።
Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and struck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
9:25
וַיֹּ֗אמֶר אֶל־בִּדְקַר֙ שָׁלִשֹׁ֔ה שָׂ֚א הַשְׁלִכֵ֔הוּ בְּחֶלְקַ֕ת שְׂדֵ֖ה נָב֣וֹת הַיִּזְרְעֵאלִ֑י כִּֽי־זְכֹ֞ר אֲנִ֣י וָאַ֗תָּה אֵ֣ת רֹכְבִ֤ים צְמָדִים֙ אַֽחֲרֵי֙ אַחְאָ֣ב אָבִ֔יו וַֽיהֹוָה֙ נָשָׂ֣א עָלָ֔יו אֶת־הַמַּשָּׂ֖א הַזֶּֽה׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ιου πρὸς Βαδεκαρ τὸν τριστάτην αὐτοῦ ῥῖψον αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ μερίδι ἀγροῦ Ναβουθαι τοῦ Ιεζραηλίτου ὅτι μνημονεύω ἐγὼ καὶ σὺ ἐπιβεβηκότες ἐπὶ ζεύγη ὀπίσω Αχααβ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ κύριος ἔλαβεν ἐπ’ αὐτὸν τὸ λῆμμα τοῦτο λέγων
Dixitque Jehu ad Badacer ducem : Tolle, projice eum in agro Naboth Jezrahelitae : memini enim quando ego et tu sedentes in curru sequebamur Achab patrem hujus, quod Dominus onus hoc levaverit super eum, dicens :
ወይቤሎ፡ ኢዩ፡ ለበዴቃ፡ ወዓሊሁ፡ ግድፎ፡ ውስተ፡ ዐጸደ፡ ናቡቴ፡ እስራኤላዊ፡ እስመ፡ አነ፡ እዜከር፡ ወለሊከ፡ ታአምር፡ አመ፡ ንጼዐን፡ አእዱገ፡ ወንተልዎ፡ ለአካአብ፡ አቡሁ፡ ወአምጽአ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘይቤ ፤
Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh laid this burden on him:
9:26
אִם־לֹ֡א אֶת־דְּמֵ֣י נָבוֹת֩ וְאֶת־דְּמֵ֨י בָנָ֜יו רָאִ֤יתִֽי אֶ֙מֶשׁ֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֥י לְךָ֛ בַּחֶלְקָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֑ה וְעַתָּ֗ה שָׂ֧א הַשְׁלִכֵ֛הוּ בַּחֶלְקָ֖ה כִּדְבַ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה׃
εἰ μὴ μετὰ τῶν αἱμάτων Ναβουθαι καὶ τὰ αἵματα τῶν υἱῶν αὐτοῦ εἶδον ἐχθές φησὶν κύριος καὶ ἀνταποδώσω αὐτῷ ἐν τῇ μερίδι ταύτῃ φησὶν κύριος καὶ νῦν ἄρας δὴ ῥῖψον αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ μερίδι κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου
Si non pro sanguine Naboth, et pro sanguine filiorum ejus, quem vidi heri, ait Dominus, reddam tibi in agro isto, dicit Dominus. Nunc ergo tolle, et projice eum in agrum juxta verbum Domini.
ደሞ፡ ለናቡቴ፡ ወደመ፡ ደቂቁ፡ ርኢኩ፡ ትማልም፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወእትበቀሎ፡ በዝ፡ ዐጸድ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይእዜኒ፡ ንሥኦ፡ ወግድፎ፡ ውስተዝ፡ ዐጸድ፡ በከመ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says Yahweh. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to Yahweh’s word.”
9:27
וַאֲחַזְיָ֤ה מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָה֙ רָאָ֔ה וַיָּ֕נׇס דֶּ֖רֶךְ בֵּ֣ית הַגָּ֑ן וַיִּרְדֹּ֨ף אַחֲרָ֜יו יֵה֗וּא וַ֠יֹּ֠אמֶר גַּם־אֹת֞וֹ הַכֻּ֣הוּ אֶל־הַמֶּרְכָּבָ֗ה בְּמַֽעֲלֵה־גוּר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֶֽת־יִבְלְעָ֔ם וַיָּ֥נׇס מְגִדּ֖וֹ וַיָּ֥מׇת שָֽׁם׃
καὶ Οχοζιας βασιλεὺς Ιουδα εἶδεν καὶ ἔφυγεν ὁδὸν Βαιθαγγαν καὶ ἐδίωξεν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ Ιου καὶ εἶπεν καί γε αὐτόν καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ ἅρματι ἐν τῷ ἀναβαίνειν Γαι ἥ ἐστιν Ιεβλααμ καὶ ἔφυγεν εἰς Μαγεδδων καὶ ἀπέθανεν ἐκεῖ
Ochozias autem rex Juda videns hoc, fugit per viam domus horti : persecutusque est eum Jehu, et ait : Etiam hunc percutite in curru suo. Et percusserunt eum in ascensu Gaver, qui est juxta Jeblaam : qui fugit in Mageddo, et mortuus est ibi.
ወሶበ፡ ርእየ፡ አካዝያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ጐየ፡ እንተ፡ ፍኖተ፡ ቤታን፡ ወተለዎ፡ ኢዩ፡ ወዴገኖ፡ ወይቤ፡ ኢየኀድጎ፡ ኪያሁኒ፡ ወቀተሎ፡ በውስተ፡ ሰረገላቲሁ፡ እንዘ፡ የዐርግ፡ መንገለ፡ ጋይ፡ አንተ፡ ኤብላሔም፡ ወእምህየ፡ ጐየ፡ ውስተ፡ መጌዶን፡ ወበህየ፡ ወፅአት፡ ነፍሱ።
But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. Jehu followed after him, and said, “Strike him also in the chariot!” They struck him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo, and died there.
9:28
וַיַּרְכִּ֧בוּ אֹת֛וֹ עֲבָדָ֖יו יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ְמָה וַיִּקְבְּר֨וּ אֹת֧וֹ בִקְבֻרָת֛וֹ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֖יו בְּעִ֥יר דָּוִֽד׃ {פ}
καὶ ἐπεβίβασαν αὐτὸν οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸ ἅρμα καὶ ἤγαγον αὐτὸν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἔθαψαν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ τάφῳ αὐτοῦ ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ
Et imposuerunt eum servi ejus super currum suum, et tulerunt in Jerusalem : sepelieruntque eum in sepulchro cum patribus suis in civitate David.
ወጸዐንዎ፡ ደቁ፡ ውስተ፡ ሰረገላቲሁ፡ ወአእተውዎ፡ ውስተ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወቀበርዎ፡ ውስተ፡ መቃብሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገረ፡ ዳዊት።
His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in David’s city.
9:29
וּבִשְׁנַת֙ אַחַ֣ת עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה שָׁנָ֔ה לְיוֹרָ֖ם בֶּן־אַחְאָ֑ב מָלַ֥ךְ אֲחַזְיָ֖ה עַל־יְהוּדָֽה׃
καὶ ἐν ἔτει ἑνδεκάτῳ Ιωραμ βασιλέως Ισραηλ ἐβασίλευσεν Οχοζιας ἐπὶ Ιουδαν
Anno undecimo Joram filii Achab, regnavit Ochozias super Judam,
ወአመ፡ ፲ወ፩ክረምት፡ መንግሥቱ፡ ለኢዮራም፡ ንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ ነግሠ፡ አካዝያስ፡ ለይሁዳ።
In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab, Ahaziah began to reign over Judah.
9:30
וַיָּב֥וֹא יֵה֖וּא יִזְרְעֶ֑אלָה וְאִיזֶ֣בֶל שָֽׁמְעָ֗ה וַתָּ֨שֶׂם בַּפּ֤וּךְ עֵינֶ֙יהָ֙ וַתֵּ֣יטֶב אֶת־רֹאשָׁ֔הּ וַתַּשְׁקֵ֖ף בְּעַ֥ד הַחַלּֽוֹן׃
καὶ ἦλθεν Ιου εἰς Ιεζραελ καὶ Ιεζαβελ ἤκουσεν καὶ ἐστιμίσατο τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῆς καὶ ἠγάθυνεν τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτῆς καὶ διέκυψεν διὰ τῆς θυρίδος
venitque Jehu in Jezrahel. Porro Jezabel, introitu ejus audito, depinxit oculos suos stibio, et ornavit caput suum, et respexit per fenestram
ወሖረ፡ ኢዩ፡ ውስተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወሰምዐት፡ ኢያዛቤል፡ ወተኵሕለት፡ አዕይንቲሃ፡ ወተሠነየት፡ ወተፀፍረት፡ ርእሳ፡ ወሐወጸት፡ እንተ፡ ውስተ፡ መስኮት።
When Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and adorned her head, and looked out at the window.
9:31
וְיֵה֖וּא בָּ֣א בַשָּׁ֑עַר וַתֹּ֣אמֶר הֲשָׁל֔וֹם זִמְרִ֖י הֹרֵ֥ג אֲדֹנָֽיו׃
καὶ Ιου εἰσεπορεύετο ἐν τῇ πόλει καὶ εἶπεν εἰ εἰρήνη Ζαμβρι ὁ φονευτὴς τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ
ingredientem Jehu per portam, et ait : Numquid pax potest esse Zambri, qui interfecit dominum suum ?
ወቦአ፡ ኢዩ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገር፡ ወትቤሎ፡ ስላም፡ ለዝንበሪ፡ ለቀታሌ፡ እግዚኡ።
As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”
9:32
וַיִּשָּׂ֤א פָנָיו֙ אֶל־הַ֣חַלּ֔וֹן וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מִ֥י אִתִּ֖י מִ֑י וַיַּשְׁקִ֣יפוּ אֵלָ֔יו שְׁנַ֥יִם שְׁלֹשָׁ֖ה סָרִיסִֽים׃
καὶ ἐπῆρεν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν θυρίδα καὶ εἶδεν αὐτὴν καὶ εἶπεν τίς εἶ σύ κατάβηθι μετ’ ἐμοῦ καὶ κατέκυψαν πρὸς αὐτὸν δύο εὐνοῦχοι
Levavitque Jehu faciem suam ad fenestram, et ait : Quae est ista ? et inclinaverunt se ad eum duo vel tres eunuchi.
ወአንሥአ፡ ገጾ፡ ወርእያ፡ ውስተ፡ መስኮት፡ ወይቤላ፡ መኑ፡ አንቲ፡ ረዲ፡ ዝየ፡ ኀቤየ፡ ወእምዝ፡ ሐወጹ፡ ክልኤቱ፡ ኅጽዋን።
He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.
9:33
וַיֹּ֥אמֶר (שמטהו) [שִׁמְט֖וּהָ] וַֽיִּשְׁמְט֑וּהָ וַיִּ֨ז מִדָּמָ֧הּ אֶל־הַקִּ֛יר וְאֶל־הַסּוּסִ֖ים וַֽיִּרְמְסֶֽנָּה׃
καὶ εἶπεν κυλίσατε αὐτήν καὶ ἐκύλισαν αὐτήν καὶ ἐρραντίσθη τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῆς πρὸς τὸν τοῖχον καὶ πρὸς τοὺς ἵππους καὶ συνεπάτησαν αὐτήν
At ille dixit eis : Praecipitate eam deorsum : et praecipitaverunt eam, aspersusque est sanguine paries, et equorum ungulae conculcaverunt eam.
ወይቤሎሙ፡ አጽድፍዋ፡ ወአጽደፍዋ፡ ወተነዝኀ፡ ደማ፡ ኀበ፡ አረፍት፡ ወኀበ፡ አፍራስ፡ ወኬድዋ።
He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. Then he trampled her under foot.
9:34
וַיָּבֹ֖א וַיֹּ֣אכַל וַיֵּ֑שְׁתְּ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר פִּקְדוּ־נָ֞א אֶת־הָאֲרוּרָ֤ה הַזֹּאת֙ וְקִבְר֔וּהָ כִּ֥י בַת־מֶ֖לֶךְ הִֽיא׃
καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Ιου καὶ ἔφαγεν καὶ ἔπιεν καὶ εἶπεν ἐπισκέψασθε δὴ τὴν κατηραμένην ταύτην καὶ θάψατε αὐτήν ὅτι θυγάτηρ βασιλέως ἐστίν
Cumque introgressus esset ut comederet biberetque, ait : Ite, et videte maledictam illam, et sepelite eam : quia filia regis est.
ወቦአ፡ ኢዩ፡ ወበልዐ፡ ወሰትየ፡ ወእምዝ፡ ይቤ፡ ሖሩ፡ ርእይዋ፡ ለዛቲ፡ ርግምት፡ ወቅብርዋ፡ እስመ፡ ወለተ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ይእቲ።
When he had come in, he ate and drank. Then he said, “See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king’s daughter.”
9:35
וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ לְקׇבְרָ֑הּ וְלֹא־מָ֣צְאוּ בָ֗הּ כִּ֧י אִם־הַגֻּלְגֹּ֛לֶת וְהָרַגְלַ֖יִם וְכַפּ֥וֹת הַיָּדָֽיִם׃
καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν θάψαι αὐτὴν καὶ οὐχ εὗρον ἐν αὐτῇ ἄλλο τι ἢ τὸ κρανίον καὶ οἱ πόδες καὶ τὰ ἴχνη τῶν χειρῶν
Cumque issent ut sepelirent eam, non invenerunt nisi calvariam, et pedes, et summas manus.
ወሖሩ፡ ይቅብርዋ፡ ወኢረከቡ፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ናላሃ፡ ወሰሎና፡ እገሪሃ፡ ወእራኃተ፡ እደዊሃ።
They went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull, the feet, and the palms of her hands.
9:36
וַיָּשֻׁבוּ֮ וַיַּגִּ֣ידוּ לוֹ֒ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ דְּבַר־יְהֹוָ֣ה ה֔וּא אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֗ר בְּיַד־עַבְדּ֛וֹ אֵלִיָּ֥הוּ הַתִּשְׁבִּ֖י לֵאמֹ֑ר בְּחֵ֣לֶק יִזְרְעֶ֔אל יֹאכְל֥וּ הַכְּלָבִ֖ים אֶת־בְּשַׂ֥ר אִיזָֽבֶל׃
καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν καὶ ἀνήγγειλαν αὐτῷ καὶ εἶπεν λόγος κυρίου ὃν ἐλάλησεν ἐν χειρὶ δούλου αὐτοῦ Ηλιου τοῦ Θεσβίτου λέγων ἐν τῇ μερίδι Ιεζραελ καταφάγονται οἱ κύνες τὰς σάρκας Ιεζαβελ
Reversique nuntiaverunt ei. Et ait Jehu : Sermo Domini est, quem locutus est per servum suum Eliam Thesbiten, dicens : In agro Jezrahel comedent canes carnes Jezabel,
ወገብኡ፡ ወነገርዎ፡ ወይቤ፡ ዝክቱ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘነበለ፡ በእደ፡ ኤልያስ፡ ትስብያዊ፡ ወይቤ፡ በውስተ፡ ዐጸደ፡ እስራኤል፡ ይበልዕዋ፡ ከለባት፡ ለኤልዛቤል ፤
Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is Yahweh’s word, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,
9:37
(והית) [וְֽהָיְתָ֞ה] נִבְלַ֣ת אִיזֶ֗בֶל כְּדֹ֛מֶן עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה בְּחֵ֣לֶק יִזְרְעֶ֑אל אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא־יֹאמְר֖וּ זֹ֥את אִיזָֽבֶל׃ {ס}
καὶ ἔσται τὸ θνησιμαῖον Ιεζαβελ ὡς κοπρία ἐπὶ προσώπου τοῦ ἀγροῦ ἐν τῇ μερίδι Ιεζραελ ὥστε μὴ εἰπεῖν αὐτούς Ιεζαβελ
et erunt carnes Jezabel sicut stercus super faciem terrae in agro Jezrahel, ita ut praetereuntes dicant : Haeccine est illa Jezabel ?
[ወይከውን፡ በድና፡ ለኤልዛቤል፡] ከመ፡ መሬት፡ ውስተ፡ ገጸ፡ ገዳም፡ በደወለ፡ እስራኤል፡ ከመ፡ ኢይበልዋ፡ እንከ፡ ኢያዜቤል።
and the body of Jezebel will be as dung on the surface of the field on Jezreel’s land, so that they won’t say, “This is Jezebel.”’”
