11:1
Ἤκουσαν δὲ οἱ ἀπόστολοι καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ οἱ ὄντες κατὰ τὴν Ἰουδαίαν ὅτι καὶ τὰ ἔθνη ἐδέξαντο τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ.
Audierunt autem Apostoli et fratres qui erant in Judaea, quoniam et gentes receperunt verbum Dei.
ወሰምዑ ሐዋርያት ወቢጾሙሂ እለ ብሔረ ይሁዳ ከመ ተወክፉ አሕዛብ ቃለ እግዚአብሔር።
Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
11:2
ὅτε δὲ ἀνέβη Πέτρος εἰς Ἱερουσαλήμ, διεκρίνοντο πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἐκ περιτομῆς
Cum autem ascendisset Petrus Jerosolymam, disceptabant adversus illum qui erant ex circumcisione,
ወአመ ዐርገ ጴጥሮስ ኢየሩሳሌም ተዋቀሥዎ ቢጹ እለ እምአይሁድ።
When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the circumcision contended with him,
11:3
λέγοντες ὅτι εἰσῆλθες πρὸς ἄνδρας ἀκροβυστίαν ἔχοντας καὶ συνέφαγες αὐτοῖς.
dicentes : Quare introisti ad viros praeputium habentes, et manducasti cum illis ?
ወይቤልዎ ቦእከ ኀበ ዕደው እለ ኢኮኑ ግዙራነ ወበላዕከ ምስሌሆሙ።
saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!”
11:4
ἀρξάμενος δὲ Πέτρος ἐξετίθετο αὐτοῖς καθεξῆς λέγων,
Incipiens autem Petrus exponebat illis ordinem, dicens :
ወአኀዘ ጴጥሮስ ይንግሮሙ እምጥንቱ ወይቤሎሙ።
But Peter began, and explained to them in order, saying,
11:5
ἐγὼ ἤμην ἐν πόλει Ἰόππῃ προσευχόμενος καὶ εἶδον ἐν ἐκστάσει ὅραμα, καταβαῖνον σκεῦός τι ὡς ὀθόνην μεγάλην τέσσαρσιν ἀρχαῖς καθιεμένην ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, καὶ ἦλθεν ἄχρι ἐμοῦ·
Ego eram in civitate Joppe orans, et vidi in excessu mentis visionem, descendens vas quoddam velut linteum magnum quatuor initiis summitti de caelo, et venit usque ad me.
እንዘ ሀለውኩ ሀገረ ኢዮጴ እንዘ እጼሊ ደንገጽኩ ወርኢኩ ከመ ዘሞጣሕት ዐቢይ ዘይወርድ እምሰማይ ወእኁዝ በአርባዕቱ ጽነፊሁ ወመጽአ መንገሌየ።
“I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me.
11:6
εἰς ἣν ἀτενίσας κατενόουν καὶ εἶδον τὰ τετράποδα τῆς γῆς καὶ τὰ θηρία καὶ τὰ ἑρπετὰ καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ.
In quod intuens considerabam, et vidi quadrupedia terrae, et bestias, et reptilia, et volatilia caeli.
ወነጸርኩ ወርኢኩ በውስቴቱ እንስሳ ወአርዌ ገዳም ወኵሎ ዘይትሐወስ ወአዕዋፈ ሰማይ።
When I had looked intently at it, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky.
11:7
ἤκουσα δὲ καὶ φωνῆς λεγούσης μοι, ἀναστάς, Πέτρε, θῦσον καὶ φάγε.
Audivi autem et vocem dicentem mihi : Surge, Petre : occide, et manduca.
ወሰማዕኩ ቃለ ዘይቤለኒ ተንሥእ ጴጥሮስ ኅርድ ወብላዕ።
I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter, kill and eat!’
11:8
εἶπον δέ, μηδαμῶς, κύριε, ὅτι κοινὸν ἢ ἀκάθαρτον οὐδέποτε εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸ στόμα μου.
Dixi autem : Nequaquam Domine : quia commune aut immundum numquam introivit in os meum.
ወእቤ ሐሰ እግዚኦ ግሙራ ኢቦአ ርኵስ ውስተ አፉየ ዘኢኮነ ንጹሐ።
But I said, ‘Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’
11:9
ἀπεκρίθη δὲ φωνὴ ἐκ δευτέρου ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, ἃ ὁ θεὸς ἐκαθάρισεν σὺ μὴ κοίνου.
Respondit autem vox secundo de caelo : Quae Deus mundavit, tu ne commune dixeris.
ወይቤለኒ ዳግመ ቃል እምሰማይ ዘእግዚአብሔር አንጽሐ አንተ ኢታስተራኵስ።
But a voice answered me the second time out of heaven, ‘What God has cleansed, don’t you call unclean.’
11:10
τοῦτο δὲ ἐγένετο ἐπὶ τρίς, καὶ ἀνεσπάσθη πάλιν ἅπαντα εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν.
Hoc autem factum est per ter : et recepta sunt omnia rursum in caelum.
ወከመዝ ይቤለኒ ሥልሰ ወተሰውጠ ካዕበ ኵሉ ውስተ ሰማይ።
This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.
11:11
καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐξαυτῆς τρεῖς ἄνδρες ἐπέστησαν ἐπὶ τὴν οἰκίαν ἐν ᾗ ἦμεν, ἀπεσταλμένοι ἀπὸ Καισαρίας πρός με.
Et ecce viri tres confestim astiterunt in domo in qua eram, missi a Caesarea ad me.
ወበይእቲ ሰዓት በጽሑ ዕደው ሠለስቱ እለ ተፈነዉ ኀቤየ እምቂሳርያ ወቆሙ ኀበ ኆኅተ ዐጸድ ኀበ ሀለውኩ አነ።
Behold, immediately three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me.
11:12
εἶπεν δὲ τὸ πνεῦμά μοι συνελθεῖν αὐτοῖς μηδὲν διακρίναντα. ἦλθον δὲ σὺν ἐμοὶ καὶ οἱ ἓξ ἀδελφοὶ οὗτοι, καὶ εἰσήλθομεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ ἀνδρός·
Dixit autem Spiritus mihi ut irem cum illis, nihil haesitans. Venerunt autem mecum et sex fratres isti, et ingressi sumus in domum viri.
ወይቤለኒ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ሑር ምስሌሆሙ እንዘ ኢትናፍቅ ወመጽኡ ምስሌየ እሉሂ ስድስቱ አኀዊነ ወቦእነ ቤቶ ለውእቱ ብእሲ።
The Spirit told me to go with them without discriminating. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house.
11:13
ἀπήγγειλεν δὲ ἡμῖν πῶς εἶδεν τὸν ἄγγελον ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ αὐτοῦ σταθέντα καὶ εἰπόντα, ἀπόστειλον εἰς Ἰόππην καὶ μετάπεμψαι Σίμωνα τὸν ἐπικαλούμενον Πέτρον,
Narravit autem nobis quomodo vidisset angelum in domo sua, stantem et dicentem sibi : Mitte in Joppen, et accersi Simonem qui cognominatur Petrus,
ወነገረነ ዘከመ ርእየ መልአከ እግዚአብሔር በቤቱ እንዘ ይቀውም ወዘይቤሎ ፈኑ ዕደወ ሀገረ ኢዮጴ ይጸውዕዎ ለከ ለስምዖን ዘተሰምየ ጴጥሮስ።
He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house and saying to him, ‘Send to Joppa and get Simon, who is called Peter,
11:14
ὃς λαλήσει ῥήματα πρὸς σὲ ἐν οἷς σωθήσῃ σὺ καὶ πᾶς ὁ οἶκός σου.
qui loquetur tibi verba in quibus salvus eris tu, et universa domus tua.
ወውእቱ ይነግረከ ነገረ በዘተሐዩ አንተ ወኵሉ ቤትከ።
who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’
11:15
ἐν δὲ τῷ ἄρξασθαί με λαλεῖν ἐπέπεσεν τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς ὥσπερ καὶ ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς ἐν ἀρχῇ.
Cum autem coepissem loqui, cecidit Spiritus Sanctus super eos, sicut et in nos in initio.
ወሶበ አኀዝኩ እንግሮሙ ወረደ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ዲቤሆሙ ዘከመ ወረደ ቀዲሙ ዲቤነ።
As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.
11:16
ἐμνήσθην δὲ τοῦ ῥήματος τοῦ κυρίου ὡς ἔλεγεν, Ἰωάννης μὲν ἐβάπτισεν ὕδατι, ὑμεῖς δὲ βαπτισθήσεσθε ἐν πνεύματι ἁγίῳ.
Recordatus sum autem verbi Domini, sicut dicebat : Joannes quidem baptizavit aqua, vos autem baptizabimini Spiritu Sancto.
ወተዘከርኩ ቃሎ ለእግዚእነ ዘይቤ ዮሐንስ አጥመቀ በማይ ወአንትሙሰ ታጠምቁ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ።
I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’
11:17
εἰ οὖν τὴν ἴσην δωρεὰν ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς ὁ θεὸς ὡς καὶ ἡμῖν πιστεύσασιν ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον Ἰησοῦν Χριστόν, ἐγὼ τίς ἤμην δυνατὸς κωλῦσαι τὸν θεόν;
Si ergo eamdem gratiam dedit illis Deus, sicut et nobis qui credidimus in Dominum Jesum Christum : ego quis eram, qui possem prohibere Deum ?
ወሶበ እንከ ዕሩየ ወሀቦሙ እግዚአብሔር ጸጋሁ ከማነ እስመ አምኑ በእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ መኑ እንከ አነ ዘእክል ከሊኦቶ ለእግዚአብሔር።
If then God gave to them the same gift as us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?”
11:18
ἀκούσαντες δὲ ταῦτα ἡσύχασαν καὶ ἐδόξασαν τὸν θεὸν λέγοντες, ἄρα καὶ τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ὁ θεὸς τὴν μετάνοιαν εἰς ζωὴν ἔδωκεν.
His auditis, tacuerunt : et glorificaverunt Deum, dicentes : Ergo et gentibus poenitentiam dedit Deus ad vitam.
ወዘንተ ሰሚዖሙ አርመሙ ወአእኰትዎ ለእግዚአብሔር ወይቤሉ እንዳዒ ለእመ ወሀቦሙ እግዚአብሔር ለአሕዛብ ከመ ይነስሑ ለሕይወት።
When they heard these things, they held their peace and glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!”
11:19
Οἱ μὲν οὖν διασπαρέντες ἀπὸ τῆς θλίψεως τῆς γενομένης ἐπὶ Στεφάνῳ διῆλθον ἕως Φοινίκης καὶ Κύπρου καὶ Ἀντιοχείας, μηδενὶ λαλοῦντες τὸν λόγον εἰ μὴ μόνον Ἰουδαίοις.
Et illi quidem qui dispersi fuerant a tribulatione quae facta fuerat sub Stephano, perambulaverunt usque Phoenicen, et Cyprum, et Antiochiam, nemini loquentes verbum, nisi solis Judaeis.
ወእለሰ ተዘርዉ በእንተ ቅትለተ እስጢፋኖስ ሖሩ ወበጽሑ ቆጵሮስ ወፍንቂስ ወአንጾኪያ እንዘ ኢይነግሩ ቃሎሙ ዘእንበለ ለአይሁድ ለባሕቲቶሙ።
They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.
11:20
ἦσαν δέ τινες ἐξ αὐτῶν ἄνδρες Κύπριοι καὶ Κυρηναῖοι, οἵτινες ἐλθόντες εἰς Ἀντιόχειαν ἐλάλουν καὶ πρὸς τοὺς Ἑλληνάς, εὐαγγελιζόμενοι τὸν κύριον Ἰησοῦν.
Erant autem quidam ex eis viri Cyprii et Cyrenaei, qui cum introissent Antiochiam, loquebantur et ad Graecos, annuntiantes Dominum Jesum.
ወቦ እምውስቴቶሙ ሰብአ ቆጵሮስ ወቀሬናውያን እለ ሖሩ አንጾኪያ ወነገርዎሙ ለአረማውያን ወመሀርዎሙ በእንተ እግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ።
But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.
11:21
καὶ ἦν χεὶρ κυρίου μετ’ αὐτῶν, πολύς τε ἀριθμὸς ὁ πιστεύσας ἐπέστρεψεν ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον.
Et erat manus Domini cum eis : multusque numerus credentium conversus est ad Dominum.
ወእደ እግዚአብሔር ምስሌሆሙ ወበዝኀ ኍልቆሙ ለእለ አምኑ ወተመይጡ ኀበ እግዚአብሔር።
The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
11:22
Ἠκούσθη δὲ ὁ λόγος εἰς τὰ ὦτα τῆς ἐκκλησίας τῆς οὔσης ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ περὶ αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐξαπέστειλαν Βαρναβᾶν ἕως Ἀντιοχείας·
Pervenit autem sermo ad aures ecclesiae quae erat Jerosolymis super istis : et miserunt Barnabam usque ad Antiochiam.
ወተሰምዐ ዝ ነገር በአብያተ ክርስቲያናት ዘኢየሩሳሌም በእንቲኣሆሙ ወፈነውዎ ለበርናባስ አንጾኪያ።
The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem. They sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch,
11:23
ὃς παραγενόμενος καὶ ἰδὼν τὴν χάριν τὴν τοῦ θεοῦ ἐχάρη καὶ παρεκάλει πάντας τῇ προθέσει τῆς καρδίας προσμένειν τῷ κυρίῳ,
Qui cum pervenisset, et vidisset gratiam Dei, gavisus est : et hortabatur omnes in proposito cordis permanere in Domino :
ወበጺሖ ርእየ ጸጋ እግዚአብሔር ወተፈሥሐ ወመሀሮሙ ለኵሎሙ ይትመየጡ በኵሉ ልቦሙ ኀበ እግዚአብሔር።
who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.
11:24
ὅτι ἦν ἀνὴρ ἀγαθὸς καὶ πλήρης πνεύματος ἁγίου καὶ πίστεως. καὶ προσετέθη ὄχλος ἱκανὸς τῷ κυρίῳ.
quia erat vir bonus, et plenus Spiritu Sancto, et fide. Et apposita est multa turba Domino.
እስመ ብእሲ ጻድቅ ውእቱ ወምሉአ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ወሃይማኖት ወተወሰኩ ብዙኃን አሕዛብ ኀበ እግዚእነ።
For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.
11:25
ἐξῆλθεν δὲ εἰς Ταρσὸν ἀναζητῆσαι Σαῦλον, καὶ εὑρὼν ἤγαγεν εἰς Ἀντιόχειαν.
Profectus est autem Barnabas Tarsum, ut quaereret Saulum : quem cum invenisset, perduxit Antiochiam.
ወእምዝ ሖረ በርናባስ ኀበ ጠርሶን ይኅሥሦ ለሳውል ወረከቦ ወወሰዶ አንጾኪያ።
Barnabas went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.
11:26
ἐγένετο δὲ αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐνιαυτὸν ὅλον συναχθῆναι ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ καὶ διδάξαι ὄχλον ἱκανόν, χρηματίσαι τε πρώτως ἐν Ἀντιοχείᾳ τοὺς μαθητὰς Χριστιανούς.
Et annum totum conversati sunt ibi in ecclesia : et docuerunt turbam multam, ita ut cognominarentur primum Antiochiae discipuli, christiani.
ወነበሩ አሐተ ዓመተ ኅቡረ በቤተ ክርስቲያን ዘአንጾኪያ ወመሀሩ ለብዙኃን አሕዛብ ወተሰምዩ አርድእት ክርስቲያነ በአንጾኪያ ቀዲሙ።
When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they were gathered together with the assembly, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
11:27
Ἐν ταύταις δὲ ταῖς ἡμέραις κατῆλθον ἀπὸ Ἱεροσολύμων προφῆται εἰς Ἀντιόχειαν·
In his autem diebus supervenerunt ab Jerosolymis prophetae Antiochiam :
ወውእተ አሚረ ወረዱ ነቢያት እምኢየሩሳሌም ለአንጾኪያ።
Now in these days, prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
11:28
ἀναστὰς δὲ εἷς ἐξ αὐτῶν ὀνόματι Ἄγαβος ἐσήμανεν διὰ τοῦ πνεύματος λιμὸν μεγάλην μέλλειν ἔσεσθαι ἐφ’ ὅλην τὴν οἰκουμένην· ἥτις ἐγένετο ἐπὶ Κλαυδίου.
et surgens unus ex eis nomine Agabus, significabat per spiritum famem magnam futuram in universo orbe terrarum, quae facta est sub Claudio.
ወተንሥአ አሐዱ እምውስቴቶሙ ዘስሙ አጋቦስ ወነገረ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ከመ ይመጽእ ረኃብ ዐቢይ ውስተ ኵሉ ዓለም ወዝ ዘኮነ በመዋዕለ ቀላውዴዎስ ቄሣር።
One of them named Agabus stood up and indicated by the Spirit that there should be a great famine all over the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius.
11:29
τῶν δὲ μαθητῶν καθὼς εὐπορεῖτό τις ὥρισαν ἕκαστος αὐτῶν εἰς διακονίαν πέμψαι τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν ἐν τῇ Ἰουδαίᾳ ἀδελφοῖς·
Discipuli autem, prout quis habebat, proposuerunt singuli in ministerium mittere habitantibus in Judaea fratribus :
ወእምዝ አስተዋፅኡ አርድእት መጠነ ይክሉ።
As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea;
11:30
ὃ καὶ ἐποίησαν ἀποστείλαντες πρὸς τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους διὰ χειρὸς Βαρναβᾶ καὶ Σαύλου.
quod et fecerunt, mittentes ad seniores per manus Barnabae et Sauli.
ወፈነዉ ለቢጾሙ እለ ይነብሩ ብሔረ ይሁዳ ምስለ በርናባስ ወሳውል ኀበ ኵሎሙ ቀሲሳን።
which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
