5:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀνὴρ δέ τις Ἀνανίας ὀνόματι σὺν Σαπφείρῃ τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπώλησεν κτῆμα
Vir autem quidam nomine Ananias , cum Saphira uxore suo vendidit agrum ,
ወሀሎ አሐዱ ብእሲ ዘስሙ ሐናንያ ወስመ ብእሲቱ ሰጲራ ወሤጡ ዐጸዶሙ ።
But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
5:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐνοσφίσατο ἀπὸ τῆς τιμῆς , συνειδυίης καὶ τῆς γυναικός , καὶ ἐνέγκας μέρος τι παρὰ τοὺς πόδας τῶν ἀποστόλων ἔθηκεν .
et fraudavit de pretio agri , conscia uxore sua : et afferens partem quamdam , ad pedes Apostolorum posuit .
ወቀሠጡ መንፈቀ ሤጡ ተማኪሮሙ ምስለ ብእሲቱ ወአምጽኡ መንፈቀ ሤጡ ወአንበሩ ታሕተ እግረ ሐዋርያት ።
and kept back part of the price, his wife also being aware of it, then brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
5:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπεν δὲ ὁ Πέτρος · Ἀνανία , διατί ἐπλήρωσεν ὁ σατανᾶς τὴν καρδίαν σου , ψεύσασθαί σε τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον καὶ νοσφίσασθαι ἀπὸ τῆς τιμῆς τοῦ χωρίου ;
Dixit autem Petrus : Anania , cur tentavit Satanas cor tuum , mentiri te Spiritui Sancto , et fraudare de pretio agri ?
ወይቤሎ ጴጥሮስ ኦ ሐናንያ እፎ መልአ ሰይጣን ውስተ ልብከ ከመ ተሐስዎ ለመንፈስ ቅዱስ ወትቅሥጥ እምሤጠ ዐጸድከ ።
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the price of the land?
5:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐχὶ μένον σοὶ ἔμενεν καὶ πραθὲν ἐν τῇ σῇ ἐξουσίᾳ ὑπῆρχεν ; τί ὅτι ἔθου ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ σου τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦτο ; οὐκ ἐψεύσω ἀνθρώποις ἀλλὰ τῷ θεῷ .
nonne manens tibi manebat , et venundatum in tua erat potestate ? quare posuisti in corde tuo hanc rem ? non es mentitus hominibus , sed Deo .
አኮኑ ለከ ነበረ እምቅድመ ትሢጦ ወሶበሂ ሤጥኮ በፈቃድከ ለምንትኬ ኀለይከ በልብከ ትግበር ከመዝ ለእግዚአብሔርኬ ሐሰውኮ ወአኮ ለሰብእ ።
While you kept it, didn’t it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn’t it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven’t lied to men, but to God.”
5:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀκούων δὲ ὁ Ἀνανίας τοὺς λόγους τούτους πεσὼν ἐξέψυξεν · καὶ ἐγένετο φόβος μέγας ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς ἀκούοντας .
Audiens autem Ananias haec verba , cecidit , et expiravit . Et factus est timor magnus super omnes qui audierunt .
ወሰሚዖ ዘንተ ነገረ ሐናንያ ተነጽሐ ወሞተ ወኮነ ዐቢይ ግርማ ወፈርሁ ኵሎሙ እለ ሰምዑ ።
Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and died. Great fear came on all who heard these things.
5:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀναστάντες δὲ οἱ νεώτεροι συνέστειλαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐξενέγκαντες ἔθαψαν .
Surgentes autem juvenes amoverunt eum , et efferentes sepelierunt .
ወተንሥኡ መሐዛት እምኔሆሙ ወጾርዎ ፥ ወገነዝዎ ወአውፅእዎ ወቀበርዎ ።
The young men arose and wrapped him up, and they carried him out and buried him.
5:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐγένετο δὲ ὡς ὡρῶν τριῶν διάστημα καὶ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ μὴ εἰδυῖα τὸ γεγονὸς εἰσῆλθεν .
Factum est autem quasi horarum trium spatium , et uxor ipsius , nesciens quod factum fuerat , introivit .
ወእምዝ እምድኅረ ሠለስቱ ሰዓት መጽአት ብእሲቱ ወኢያእመረት ዘኮነ ምታ ወቦአት ።
About three hours later, his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in.
5:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀπεκρίθη δὲ πρὸς αὐτὴν Πέτρος , εἰπέ μοι , εἰ τοσούτου τὸ χωρίον ἀπέδοσθε ; ἡ δὲ εἶπεν , ναί , τοσούτου .
Dixit autem ei Petrus : Dic mihi mulier , si tanti agrum vendidistis ? At illa dixit : Etiam tanti .
ወይቤላ ጴጥሮስ ንግርኒ እስኩ በመጠነዝኑ ሤጥክሙ ዐጸደክሙ ወትቤ እወ ከማሁ ።
Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much.” She said, “Yes, for so much.”
5:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ Πέτρος πρὸς αὐτήν , τί ὅτι συνεφωνήθη ὑμῖν πειράσαι τὸ πνεῦμα κυρίου ; ἰδοὺ οἱ πόδες τῶν θαψάντων τὸν ἄνδρα σου ἐπὶ τῇ θύρᾳ καὶ ἐξοίσουσίν σε .
Petrus autem ad eam : Quid utique convenit vobis tentare Spiritum Domini ? Ecce pedes eorum qui sepelierunt virum tuum ad ostium , et efferent te .
ወይቤላ ጴጥሮስ በእፎ እንከ ኀበርክሙ ታመክርዎ ለመንፈስ ቅዱስ ናሁኬ እገሪሆሙ ለእለ ቀበርዎ ለምትኪ ኀበ ኆኅት ወእሙንቱ ይወስዱኪ ኪያኪኒ ።
But Peter asked her, “How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”
5:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔπεσεν δὲ παραχρῆμα πρὸς τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξέψυξεν · εἰσελθόντες δὲ οἱ νεανίσκοι εὗρον αὐτὴν νεκράν , καὶ ἐξενέγκαντες ἔθαψαν πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτῆς .
Confestim cecidit ante pedes ejus , et expiravit . Intrantes autem juvenes invenerunt illam mortuam : et extulerunt , et sepelierunt ad virum suum .
ወተነጽሐት ሶቤሃ ታሕተ እገሪሁ ወሞተት ወቦኡ ወራዙት ወረከቡ በድና ወወሰድዋ ወቀበርዋ ኀበ ምታ ።
She fell down immediately at his feet and died. The young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.
5:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐγένετο φόβος μέγας ἐφ’ ὅλην τὴν ἐκκλησίαν καὶ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς ἀκούοντας ταῦτα .
Et factus est timor magnus in universa ecclesia , et in omnes qui audierunt haec .
ወኮነ ዐቢይ ግርማ ወፈርሁ ኵሎሙ አብያተ ክርስቲያናት ወእለ ሰምዕዎ ለዝ ነገር ።
Great fear came on the whole assembly, and on all who heard these things.
5:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ Διὰ δὲ τῶν χειρῶν τῶν ἀποστόλων ἐγίνετο σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα πολλὰ ἐν τῷ λαῷ · καὶ ἦσαν ὁμοθυμαδὸν ἅπαντες ἐν τῇ στοᾷ Σολομῶντος ·
Per manus autem Apostolorum fiebant signa et prodigia multa in plebe . Et erant unanimiter omnes in porticu Salomonis .
ወበእደዊሆሙ ለሐዋርያት ይትገበር ተኣምር ወመንክር ብዙኅ በውስተ ሕዝብ ወሀለዉ ኅቡረ በቤተ መቅደስ ውስተ ሕዋረ ሰሎሞን ።
By the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. They were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.
5:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ τῶν δὲ λοιπῶν οὐδεὶς ἐτόλμα κολλᾶσθαι αὐτοῖς , ἀλλ’ ἐμεγάλυνεν αὐτοὺς ὁ λαός ·
Ceterorum autem nemo audebat se conjungere illis : sed magnificabat eos populus .
ወእምዝ እንከ አልቦ ዘተኀበለ ይስሐጦሙ ዳእሙ አክበርዎሙ ሕዝብ ወአዕበይዎሙ ።
None of the rest dared to join them; however, the people honored them.
5:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ μᾶλλον δὲ προσετίθεντο πιστεύοντες τῷ κυρίῳ πλήθη ἀνδρῶν τε καὶ γυναικῶν ,
Magis autem augebatur credentium in Domino multitudo virorum ac mulierum ,
ወብዙኃን ይትዌሰኩ እለ የአምኑ በእግዚእነ ወብዙኃን ዕደው ወአንስት ።
More believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women.
5:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὥστε καὶ εἰς τὰς πλατείας ἐκφέρειν τοὺς ἀσθενεῖς καὶ τιθέναι ἐπὶ κλιναρίων καὶ κραβάττων , ἵνα ἐρχομένου Πέτρου κἂν ἡ σκιὰ ἐπισκιάσῃ τινὶ αὐτῶν .
ita ut in plateas ejicerent infirmos , et ponerent in lectulis et grabatis , ut , veniente Petro , saltem umbra illius obumbraret quemquam illorum , et liberarentur ab infirmitatibus suis .
ወያመጽኡ ድውያነ በዐራታት ወያነብርዎሙ ኀበ ዐውድ ከመ ይብጽሖሙ ጽላሎቱ ለጴጥሮስ ሶበ የኀልፍ ወይትፌውሱ እምደዌሆሙ ።
They even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mattresses, so that as Peter came by, at least his shadow might overshadow some of them.
5:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ συνήρχετο δὲ καὶ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν πέριξ πόλεων Ἱερουσαλήμ , φέροντες ἀσθενεῖς καὶ ὀχλουμένους ὑπὸ πνευμάτων ἀκαθάρτων , οἵτινες ἐθεραπεύοντο ἅπαντες .
Concurrebat autem et multitudo vicinarum civitatum Jerusalem , afferentes aegros , et vexatos a spiritibus immundis : qui curabantur omnes .
ወይመጽኡ ብዙኃን እምአህጉረ አድያም ዘኢየሩሳሌም ወያመጽኡ ድዉያነ ወእለ አጋንንት እኩያን ወየሐይዉ ኵሎሙ ።
The multitude also came together from the cities around Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits; and they were all healed.
5:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀναστὰς δὲ ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς καὶ πάντες οἱ σὺν αὐτῷ , ἡ οὖσα αἵρεσις τῶν Σαδδουκαίων , ἐπλήσθησαν ζήλου
Exsurgens autem princeps sacerdotum , et omnes qui cum illo erant (quae est haeresis sadducaeorum ), repleti sunt zelo :
ወተንሥኡ ሊቀ ካህናት ወእለ ምስሌሁ ወሕዝበ ሰዱቃውያን ወቀንኡ ዲቤሆሙ ።
But the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy
5:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐπέβαλον τὰς χεῖρας ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀποστόλους καὶ ἔθεντο αὐτοὺς ἐν τηρήσει δημοσίᾳ .
et injecerunt manus in Apostolos , et posuerunt eos in custodia publica .
ወአኀዝዎሙ ለሐዋርያት ወአውዓልዎሙ ሙዓለ ውስተ ቤተ ሞቅሕ ።
and laid hands on the apostles, then put them in public custody.
5:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄγγελος δὲ κυρίου διὰ νυκτὸς ἀνοίξας τὰς θύρας τῆς φυλακῆς ἐξαγαγών τε αὐτοὺς εἶπεν ,
Angelus autem Domini per noctem aperiens januas carceris , et educens eos , dixit :
ወመልአከ እግዚአብሔር አርኀወ አናቅጸ ቤተ ሞቅሕ በሌሊት ወአውፅኦሙ ወይቤሎሙ ።
But an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors by night, and brought them out and said,
5:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ πορεύεσθε καὶ σταθέντες λαλεῖτε ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ τῷ λαῷ πάντα τὰ ῥήματα τῆς ζωῆς ταύτης .
Ite , et stantes loquimini in templo plebi omnia verba vitae hujus .
ሑሩ ባኡ ምኵራበ ወመሀርዎሙ ለሕዝብ ዘንተ ነገረ ሕይወት ።
“Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.”
5:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀκούσαντες δὲ εἰσῆλθον ὑπὸ τὸν ὄρθρον εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν καὶ ἐδίδασκον . παραγενόμενος δὲ ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς καὶ οἱ σὺν αὐτῷ συνεκάλεσαν τὸ συνέδριον καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γερουσίαν τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ , καὶ ἀπέστειλαν εἰς τὸ δεσμωτήριον ἀχθῆναι αὐτούς .
Qui cum audissent , intraverunt diluculo in templum , et docebant . Adveniens autem princeps sacerdotum , et qui cum eo erant , convocaverunt concilium , et omnes seniores filiorum Israël : et miserunt ad carcerem ut adducerentur .
ወሰሚዖሙ ዘንተ ጌሡ ነግሀ በጽባሕ ወቦኡ ምኵራበ ወመሀሩ ወሊቃነ ካህናትሰ ወእለ ምስሌሆሙ አስተጋብኡ ዐውዶሙ ወኵሎ ሊቃነ ቤተ እስራኤል ወለአኩ ቤተ ሞቅሕ ያምጽእዎሙ ለሐዋርያት ።
When they heard this, they entered into the temple about daybreak and taught. But the high priest and those who were with him came and called the council together, with all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
5:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ παραγενόμενοι ὑπηρέται οὐχ εὗρον αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ φυλακῇ , ἀναστρέψαντες δὲ ἀπήγγειλαν
Cum autem venissent ministri , et aperto carcere non invenissent illos , reversi nuntiaverunt ,
ወበጽሑ ወዓልያኒሆሙ ወኀጥእዎሙ ወተሠወጡ ወነገርዎሙ ።
But the officers who came didn’t find them in the prison. They returned and reported,
5:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγοντες ὅτι τὸ δεσμωτήριον εὕρομεν κεκλεισμένον ἐν πάσῃ ἀσφαλείᾳ καὶ τοὺς φύλακας ἑστῶτας ἐπὶ τῶν θυρῶν , ἀνοίξαντες δὲ ἔσω , οὐδένα εὕρομεν .
dicentes : Carcerem quidem invenimus clausum cum omni diligentia , et custodes stantes ante januas : aperientes autem neminem intus invenimus .
ወይቤልዎሙ ረከብነ ቤተ ሞቅሕ ንሡገ ወቅቱረ ወዝጉሐ እንተ ኵለሄ ወሠገራት የዐቅቡ አናቅጺሁ ወአርኂወነ አልቦ ዘረከብነ በውስጥ ።
“We found the prison shut and locked, and the guards standing before the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside!”
5:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὡς δὲ ἤκουσαν τοὺς λόγους τούτους ὅ τε στρατηγὸς τοῦ ἱεροῦ καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς , διηπόρουν περὶ αὐτῶν τί ἂν γένοιτο τοῦτο .
Ut autem audierunt hos sermones magistratus templi et principes sacerdotum , ambigebant de illis quidnam fieret .
ወሰሚዖሙ ዘንተ ነገረ ሊቃነ ካህናት ወመገብተ ምኵራብ ኀጥኡ ዘይገብሩ ወይቤሉ ምንትኑ እንጋ ዝ ነገር ።
Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were very perplexed about them and what might become of this.
5:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ παραγενόμενος δέ τις ἀπήγγειλεν αὐτοῖς ὅτι ἰδοὺ οἱ ἄνδρες οὓς ἔθεσθε ἐν τῇ φυλακῇ εἰσὶν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ ἑστῶτες καὶ διδάσκοντες τὸν λαόν .
Adveniens autem quidam , nuntiavit eis : Quia ecce viri quos posuistis in carcerem , sunt in templo , stantes et docentes populum .
ወመጽአ አሐዱ ወይቤሎሙ ነዮሙ እሙንቱ እደው እለ ሞቃሕክምዎሙ ውስተ ምኵራብ ይቀውሙ ወይሜህሩ ለሕዝብ ።
One came and told them, “Behold, the men whom you put in prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people.”
5:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τότε ἀπελθὼν ὁ στρατηγὸς σὺν τοῖς ὑπηρέταις ἦγεν αὐτούς , οὐ μετὰ βίας , ἐφοβοῦντο γὰρ τὸν λαόν , ἵνα μὴ λιθασθῶσιν ·
Tunc abiit magistratus cum ministris , et adduxit illos sine vi : timebant enim populum ne lapidarentur .
ወእምዝ ሖረ መጋቤ ምኵራብ ምስለ ወዓሊሁ ያምጽእዎሙ እንዘ ይዬውህዎሙ እስመ ይፈርህዎሙ ለሕዝብ ኢይውግርዎሙ ።
Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence, for they were afraid that the people might stone them.
5:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀγαγόντες δὲ αὐτοὺς ἔστησαν ἐν τῷ συνεδρίῳ . καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτοὺς ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς
Et cum adduxissent illos , statuerunt in concilio : et interrogavit eos princeps sacerdotum ,
ወአምጽእዎሙ ወአቀምዎሙ ማእከለ ዐውድ ወሐተትዎሙ ሊቃነ ካህናት ።
When they had brought them, they set them before the council. The high priest questioned them,
5:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ λέγων , παραγγελίᾳ παρηγγείλαμεν ὑμῖν μὴ διδάσκειν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι τούτῳ ; καὶ ἰδοὺ πεπληρώκατε τὴν Ἱερουσαλὴμ τῆς διδαχῆς ὑμῶν , καὶ βούλεσθε ἐπαγαγεῖν ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς τὸ αἷμα τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τούτου .
dicens : Praecipiendo praecepimus vobis ne doceretis in nomine isto , et ecce replestis Jerusalem doctrina vestra : et vultis inducere super nos sanguinem hominis istius .
ወይቤልዎሙ አኮኑ ከላእናክሙ ከመ ኢትምሀሩ በስሙ ለኢየሱስ ወኢለመኑሂ ወናሁ መላእክምዋ ትምህርተክሙ ለኢየሩሳሌም ወትፈቅዱኑ ታግብኡ ላዕሌነ ደሞ ለዝ ብእሲ ።
saying, “Didn’t we strictly command you not to teach in this name? Behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man’s blood on us.”
5:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Πέτρος καὶ οἱ ἀπόστολοι εἶπαν , πειθαρχεῖν δεῖ θεῷ μᾶλλον ἢ ἀνθρώποις .
Respondens autem Petrus et Apostoli , dixerunt : Obedire oportet Deo magis quam hominibus .
ወተሰጥዎሙ ጴጥሮስ ምስለ ሐዋርያት ወይቤሎሙ ይኄይሰነ ናደሉ ለእግዚአብሔር እምነ አድልዎ ለሰብእ ።
But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.
5:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ἡμῶν ἤγειρεν Ἰησοῦν , ὃν ὑμεῖς διεχειρίσασθε κρεμάσαντες ἐπὶ ξύλου ·
Deus patrum nostrorum suscitavit Jesum , quem vos interemistis , suspendentes in ligno .
አምላከ አበዊነ አንሥኦ ለኢየሱስ ዘአንትሙ ዐለውክምዎ ወሰቀልክምዎ ዲበ ዕፅ ወቀተልክምዎ ።
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree.
5:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦτον ὁ θεὸς ἀρχηγὸν καὶ σωτῆρα ὕψωσεν τῇ δεξιᾷ αὐτοῦ , τοῦ δοῦναι μετάνοιαν τῷ Ἰσραὴλ καὶ ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν .
Hunc principem et salvatorem Deus exaltavit dextera sua ad dandam poenitentiam Israëli , et remissionem peccatorum :
ኪያሁ ረሰዮ እግዚአብሔር መልአከ ሕይወት ወአልዐሎ በየማኑ ወወሀቦሙ ለእስራኤል ንስሓ ከመ ይትኀደግ ሎሙ ኀጢአቶሙ ።
God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.
5:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἡμεῖς ἐσμεν μάρτυρες τῶν ῥημάτων τούτων , καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον ὃ ἔδωκεν ὁ θεὸς τοῖς πειθαρχοῦσιν αὐτῷ .
et nos sumus testes horum verborum , et Spiritus Sanctus , quem dedit Deus omnibus obedientibus sibi .
ወንሕነ ሰማዕቱ ለዝንቱ ነገር ወመንፈስ ቅዱስ ዘወሀቦሙ እግዚአብሔር ለእለ የአምኑ ቦቱ ።
We are his witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
5:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ δὲ ἀκούσαντες διεπρίοντο καὶ ἐβουλεύοντο ἀνελεῖν αὐτούς .
Haec cum audissent , dissecabantur , et cogitabant interficere illos .
ወሰሚዖሙ ዘንተ ተምዕዑ ወሐቀዩ ስነኒሆሙ ወፈቀዱ ይቅትልዎሙ ።
But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and were determined to kill them.
5:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἀναστὰς δέ τις ἐν τῷ συνεδρίῳ Φαρισαῖος ὀνόματι Γαμαλιήλ , νομοδιδάσκαλος τίμιος παντὶ τῷ λαῷ , ἐκέλευσεν ἔξω βραχὺ τοὺς ἀνθρώπους ποιῆσαι ,
Surgens autem quidam in concilio pharisaeus , nomine Gamaliel , legis doctor , honorabilis universae plebi , jussit foras ad breve homines fieri ,
ወተንሥአ አሐዱ እምውስተ ዐውድ እምሕዝበ ፈሪሳውያን ዘስሙ ገማልያል መምህረ ኦሪት ወክቡር ውእቱ በኀበ ኵሉ ሕዝብ ወአዘዘ ያእትትዎሙ ለሐዋርያት ሕቀ እምውስተ ዐውድ ።
But one stood up in the council, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, honored by all the people, and commanded to put the apostles out for a little while.
5:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἶπέν τε πρὸς αὐτούς , ἄνδρες Ἰσραηλεῖται , προσέχετε ἑαυτοῖς ἐπὶ τοῖς ἀνθρώποις τούτοις τί μέλλετε πράσσειν .
dixitque ad illos : Viri Israëlitae , attendite vobis super hominibus istis quid acturi sitis .
ወይቤሎሙ አንትሙ ሰብአ እስራኤል አድኅኑ ርእሰክሙ ወዑቁ በእንተ እሉ ሰብእ ዘከመ ትገብሩ ።
He said to them, “You men of Israel, be careful concerning these men, what you are about to do.
5:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ πρὸ γὰρ τούτων τῶν ἡμερῶν ἀνέστη Θευδᾶς , λέγων εἶναί τινα ἑαυτόν , ᾧ προσεκλίθη ἀνδρῶν ἀριθμὸς ὡς τετρακοσίων · ὃς ἀνῃρέθη , καὶ πάντες ὅσοι ἐπείθοντο αὐτῷ διελύθησαν καὶ ἐγένοντο εἰς οὐδέν .
Ante hos enim dies extitit Theodas , dicens se esse aliquem , cui consensit numerus virorum circiter quadringentorum : qui occisus est , et omnes qui credebant ei , dissipati sunt , et redacti ad nihilum .
ቀዲሙኒ እምቅድመዝ መዋዕል ተንሥአ ቴዎዳስ ዘግብጽ ወአዕበየ ርእሶ ወተለውዎ አርባዕቱ ምእት ሰብእ ወጠፍአ ውእቱኒ ወኵሎሙ እለ አምኑ ቦቱ ተዘርዉ ወኮኑ ከመ ዘኢተፈጥሩ ።
For before these days Theudas rose up, making himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves. He was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed and came to nothing.
5:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ μετὰ τοῦτον ἀνέστη Ἰούδας ὁ Γαλιλαῖος ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τῆς ἀπογραφῆς καὶ ἀπέστησεν λαὸν ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ · κἀκεῖνος ἀπώλετο , καὶ πάντες ὅσοι ἐπείθοντο αὐτῷ διεσκορπίσθησαν .
Post hunc extitit Judas Galilaeus in diebus professionis , et avertit populum post se : et ipse periit , et omnes quotquot consenserunt ei , dispersi sunt .
ወእምድኅሬሁ ተንሥአ ይሁዳ ዘገሊላ በመዋዕል ዘተጽሕፉ ሰብእ በእንተ ጸባሕት ወተለውዎ ብዙኃን ሕዝብ ወሞተ ውእቱሂ ወእለ ተለውዎሂ ተዘርዉ ኵሎሙ ።
After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the enrollment, and drew away some people after him. He also perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.
5:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τὰ νῦν λέγω ὑμῖν , ἀπόστητε ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων τούτων καὶ ἄφετε αὐτούς · ὅτι ἐὰν ᾖ ἐξ ἀνθρώπων ἡ βουλὴ αὕτη ἢ τὸ ἔργον τοῦτο , καταλυθήσεται ·
Et nunc itaque dico vobis , discedite ab hominibus istis , et sinite illos : quoniam si est ex hominibus consilium hoc aut opus , dissolvetur :
ወይእዜኒ እብለክሙ ኅድግዎሙ ለእሉ ሰብእ ወኢትስሐጥዎሙ ለእመሁ ዘእምኀበ ሰብእ ዝ ምክሮሙ ወዝ ግብሮሙ የኀልፍ ወይሰዐር ።
Now I tell you, withdraw from these men and leave them alone. For if this counsel or this work is of men, it will be overthrown.
5:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ δὲ ἐκ θεοῦ ἐστιν , οὐ δυνήσεσθε καταλῦσαι αὐτούς , μήποτε καὶ θεομάχοι εὑρεθῆτε .
si vero ex Deo est , non poteritis dissolvere illud , ne forte et Deo repugnare inveniamini . Consenserunt autem illi .
ወለእመ እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር ኮነ ኢትክሉ አኅድጎቶሙ ወከመ ዘምስለ እግዚአብሔር ይትበአስ ኢትኩኑ ።
But if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow it, and you would be found even to be fighting against God!”
5:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπείσθησαν δὲ αὐτῷ , καὶ προσκαλεσάμενοι τοὺς ἀποστόλους δείραντες παρήγγειλαν μὴ λαλεῖν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι τοῦ Ἰησοῦ καὶ ἀπέλυσαν .
Et convocantes Apostolos , caesis denuntiaverunt ne omnino loquerentur in nomine Jesu , et dimiserunt eos .
ወኦሆ አበሎሙ ወጸውዕዎሙ ለሐዋርያት ወቀሠፍዎሙ ወገሠጽዎሙ ኢይንግሩ እንከ በስሙ ለኢየሱስ ወኀደግዎሙ ።
They agreed with him. Summoning the apostles, they beat them and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
5:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οἱ μὲν οὖν ἐπορεύοντο χαίροντες ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ συνεδρίου ὅτι κατηξιώθησαν ὑπὲρ τοῦ ὀνόματος ἀτιμασθῆναι ·
Et illi quidem ibant gaudentes a conspectu concilii , quoniam digni habiti sunt pro nomine Jesu contumeliam pati .
ወወፅኡ እምዐውድ እንዘ ይትፌሥሑ እስመ ከፈሎሙ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ከመ ያኅሥርዎሙ በእንተ ስሙ ።
They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for Jesus’ name.
5:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ πᾶσάν τε ἡμέραν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ καὶ κατ’ οἶκον οὐκ ἐπαύοντο διδάσκοντες καὶ εὐαγγελιζόμενοι τὸν Χριστόν , Ἰησοῦν .
Omni autem die non cessabant in templo et circa domos , docentes et evangelizantes Christum Jesum .
ወኵሎ አሚረ ይፀመዱ ትምህርተ በቤተ መቅደስ ወውስተ ቤትኒ ኢኀደጉ ነጊረ በእንተ እግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
Every day, in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and preaching Jesus, the Christ.
