17:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹא ־תִזְבַּח֩ לַיהֹוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ שׁ֣וֹר וָשֶׂ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִהְיֶ֥ה בוֹ֙ מ֔וּם כֹּ֖ל דָּבָ֣ר רָ֑ע כִּ֧י תוֹעֲבַ֛ת יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ הֽוּא ׃ {ס}
οὐ θύσεις κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου μόσχον ἢ πρόβατον ἐν ᾧ ἐστιν ἐν αὐτῷ μῶμος πᾶν ῥῆμα πονηρόν ὅτι βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σού ἐστιν
Non immolabis Domino Deo tuo ovem , et bovem , in quo est macula , aut quippiam vitii : quia abominatio est Domino Deo tuo .
ወኢትሡዑ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ፡ ላህመ ፡ አው ፡ በግዐ ፡ ዘቦቱ ፡ ነውረ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ነገር ፡ እኩይ ፤ ርኩስ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ።
You shall not sacrifice to Yahweh your God an ox or a sheep in which is a defect or anything evil; for that is an abomination to Yahweh your God.
17:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־יִמָּצֵ֤א בְקִרְבְּךָ֙ בְּאַחַ֣ד שְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁר ־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ נֹתֵ֣ן לָ֑ךְ אִ֣ישׁ אוֹ ־אִשָּׁ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יַעֲשֶׂ֧ה אֶת ־הָרַ֛ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהֹוָה ־אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ לַעֲבֹ֥ר בְּרִיתֽוֹ ׃
ἐὰν δὲ εὑρεθῇ ἐν σοὶ ἐν μιᾷ τῶν πόλεών σου ὧν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι ἀνὴρ ἢ γυνή ὅστις ποιήσει τὸ πονηρὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου παρελθεῖν τὴν διαθήκην αὐτοῦ
Cum reperti fuerint apud te intra unam portarum tuarum , quas Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi , vir aut mulier qui faciant malum in conspectu Domini Dei tui , et transgrediantur pactum illius ,
ወለእመኒ ፡ ተረክበ ፡ በውስተ ፡ [አሐቲ ፡] እምነ ፡ አህጉሪ [ከ ] ፡ ዘወሀበከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ አው ፡ ብእሲት ፡ ዘይገብር ፡ እኩየ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ እለ ፡ ተዐወሩ ፡ ሕጎ ፤
If there is found among you, within any of your gates which Yahweh your God gives you, a man or woman who does that which is evil in Yahweh your God’s sight in transgressing his covenant,
17:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ וַֽיַּעֲבֹד֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ לָהֶ֑ם וְלַשֶּׁ֣מֶשׁ ׀ א֣וֹ לַיָּרֵ֗חַ א֛וֹ לְכׇל ־צְבָ֥א הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא ־צִוִּֽיתִי ׃
καὶ ἐλθόντες λατρεύσωσιν θεοῖς ἑτέροις καὶ προσκυνήσωσιν αὐτοῖς τῷ ἡλίῳ ἢ τῇ σελήνῃ ἢ παντὶ τῶν ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἃ οὐ προσέταξεν
ut vadant et servant diis alienis , et adorent eos , solem et lunam , et omnem militiam caeli , quae non praecepi :
ወሖሩ ፡ ወአምለኩ ፡ ባዕደ ፡ አማልክተ ፡ ወሰገዱ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ለፀሐይ ፡ አው ፡ ለወርኅ ፡ አው ፡ እምውስተ ፡ ሰርጕሃ ፡ ለሰማይ ፡ ዘኢአዘዘከ ፤
and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or the sun, or the moon, or any of the stars of the sky, which I have not commanded,
17:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהֻֽגַּד ־לְךָ֖ וְשָׁמָ֑עְתָּ וְדָרַשְׁתָּ֣ הֵיטֵ֔ב וְהִנֵּ֤ה אֱמֶת֙ נָכ֣וֹן הַדָּבָ֔ר נֶעֶשְׂתָ֛ה הַתּוֹעֵבָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ ἀναγγελῇ σοι καὶ ἐκζητήσεις σφόδρα καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀληθῶς γέγονεν τὸ ῥῆμα γεγένηται τὸ βδέλυγμα τοῦτο ἐν Ισραηλ
et hoc tibi fuerit nuntiatum , audiensque inquisieris diligenter et verum esse repereris , et abominatio facta est in Israël :
ወእምከመ ፡ ሰማዕከ ፡ ተሐትት ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ወለእመ ፡ እሙነ ፡ ኮነ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ነገር ፡ ወኮነ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ርኩስ ፡ በውስተ ፡ እስራኤል ፤
and you are told, and you have heard of it, then you shall inquire diligently. Behold, if it is true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is done in Israel,
17:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהֽוֹצֵאתָ֣ אֶת ־הָאִ֣ישׁ הַה֡וּא אוֹ֩ אֶת ־הָאִשָּׁ֨ה הַהִ֜וא אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָ֠שׂ֠וּ אֶת ־הַדָּבָ֨ר הָרָ֤ע הַזֶּה֙ אֶל ־שְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ אֶת ־הָאִ֕ישׁ א֖וֹ אֶת ־הָאִשָּׁ֑ה וּסְקַלְתָּ֥ם בָּאֲבָנִ֖ים וָמֵֽתוּ ׃
καὶ ἐξάξεις τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐκεῖνον ἢ τὴν γυναῖκα ἐκείνην καὶ λιθοβολήσετε αὐτοὺς ἐν λίθοις καὶ τελευτήσουσιν
educes virum ac mulierem , qui rem sceleratissimam perpetrarunt , ad portas civitatis tuae , et lapidibus obruentur .
ወታወጽኦ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ወእመኒ ፡ ብእሲት ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ወይወግርዎሙ ፡ በእብን ፡ ወይቅትልዎሙ ።
then you shall bring out that man or that woman who has done this evil thing to your gates, even that same man or woman; and you shall stone them to death with stones.
17:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ עַל ־פִּ֣י ׀ שְׁנַ֣יִם עֵדִ֗ים א֛וֹ שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה עֵדִ֖ים יוּמַ֣ת הַמֵּ֑ת לֹ֣א יוּמַ֔ת עַל ־פִּ֖י עֵ֥ד אֶחָֽד ׃
ἐπὶ δυσὶν μάρτυσιν ἢ ἐπὶ τρισὶν μάρτυσιν ἀποθανεῖται ὁ ἀποθνῄσκων οὐκ ἀποθανεῖται ἐφ’ ἑνὶ μάρτυρι
In ore duorum aut trium testium peribit qui interficietur . Nemo occidatur , uno contra se dicente testimonium .
በክልኤቱ ፡ ሰማዕት ፡ ወሠለስቱ ፡ ሰማዕት ፡ ይመውቱ ፡ እለ ፡ ይመውቱ ፡ ወኢይመውቱ ፡ በአሐዱ ፡ ስምዕ ።
At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, he who is to die shall be put to death. At the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
17:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ יַ֣ד הָעֵדִ֞ים תִּֽהְיֶה ־בּ֤וֹ בָרִאשֹׁנָה֙ לַהֲמִית֔וֹ וְיַ֥ד כׇּל ־הָעָ֖ם בָּאַחֲרֹנָ֑ה וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥ הָרָ֖ע מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ ׃ {פ}
καὶ ἡ χεὶρ τῶν μαρτύρων ἔσται ἐπ’ αὐτῷ ἐν πρώτοις θανατῶσαι αὐτόν καὶ ἡ χεὶρ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ ἐπ’ ἐσχάτων καὶ ἐξαρεῖς τὸν πονηρὸν ἐξ ὑμῶν αὐτῶν
Manus testium prima interficiet eum , et manus reliqui populi extrema mittetur : ut auferas malum de medio tui .
ወእደዊሆሙ ፡ ለውእቶሙ ፡ ሰማዕት ፡ ይቀድማ ፡ ቀቲሎቶሙ ፡ ወእምድኅሬሆሙ ፡ እደወ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ወታወፅእ ፡ እኩየ ፡ እምኔክሙ ።
The hands of the witnesses shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you shall remove the evil from among you.
17:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י יִפָּלֵא֩ מִמְּךָ֨ דָבָ֜ר לַמִּשְׁפָּ֗ט בֵּֽין ־דָּ֨ם ׀לְדָ֜ם בֵּֽין ־דִּ֣ין לְדִ֗ין וּבֵ֥ין נֶ֙גַע֙ לָנֶ֔גַע דִּבְרֵ֥י רִיבֹ֖ת בִּשְׁעָרֶ֑יךָ וְקַמְתָּ֣ וְעָלִ֔יתָ אֶ֨ל ־הַמָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִבְחַ֛ר יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ בּֽוֹ ׃
ἐὰν δὲ ἀδυνατήσῃ ἀπὸ σοῦ ῥῆμα ἐν κρίσει ἀνὰ μέσον αἷμα αἵματος καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον κρίσις κρίσεως καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ἁφὴ ἁφῆς καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ἀντιλογία ἀντιλογίας ῥήματα κρίσεως ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν ὑμῶν καὶ ἀναστὰς ἀναβήσῃ εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐπικληθῆναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ
Si difficile et ambiguum apud te judicium esse perspexeris inter sanguinem et sanguinem , causam et causam , lepram et lepram : et judicum intra portas tuas videris verba variari : surge , et ascende ad locum , quem elegerit Dominus Deus tuus .
ወለእመቦ ፡ ዘተስእነከ ፡ ቃል ፡ በውስተ ፡ ፍትሕ ፡ ዘማእከለ ፡ ደም ፡ ወደም ፡ ወማእከለ ፡ ንጹሕ ፡ ለአንጽሖ ፡ ወማእከለ ፡ ላኳ ፡ ወላኳ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ፍትሕ ፡ በውስተ ፡ አህጉሪክሙ ፡ ትትነሣእ ፡ ወተዐርግ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መካን ፡ ዘኀርየ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይሰመይ ፡ ስሙ ፡ በህየ ።
If there arises a matter too hard for you in judgment, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between stroke and stroke, being matters of controversy within your gates, then you shall arise, and go up to the place which Yahweh your God chooses.
17:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבָאתָ֗ אֶל ־הַכֹּהֲנִים֙ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם וְאֶ֨ל ־הַשֹּׁפֵ֔ט אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִהְיֶ֖ה בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֑ם וְדָרַשְׁתָּ֙ וְהִגִּ֣ידוּ לְךָ֔ אֵ֖ת דְּבַ֥ר הַמִּשְׁפָּֽט ׃
καὶ ἐλεύσῃ πρὸς τοὺς ἱερεῖς τοὺς Λευίτας καὶ πρὸς τὸν κριτήν ὃς ἂν γένηται ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ ἐκζητήσαντες ἀναγγελοῦσίν σοι τὴν κρίσιν
Veniesque ad sacerdotes Levitici generis , et ad judicem qui fuerit illo tempore : quaeresque ab eis , qui indicabunt tibi judicii veritatem .
ወተሐውር ፡ ኀበ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ ወኀበ ፡ መኳንንት ፡ እለ ፡ ሀለው ፡ በውእቶን ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ወት [ሴ ]አል ፡ ወያየድዑከ ፡ ፍትሐ ።
You shall come to the priests who are Levites and to the judge who shall be in those days. You shall inquire, and they shall give you the verdict.
17:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעָשִׂ֗יתָ עַל ־פִּ֤י הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יַגִּ֣ידֽוּ לְךָ֔ מִן ־הַמָּק֣וֹם הַה֔וּא אֲשֶׁ֖ר יִבְחַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֑ה וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֣ לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יוֹרֽוּךָ ׃
καὶ ποιήσεις κατὰ τὸ πρᾶγμα ὃ ἐὰν ἀναγγείλωσίν σοι ἐκ τοῦ τόπου οὗ ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐπικληθῆναι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐκεῖ καὶ φυλάξῃ σφόδρα ποιῆσαι κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν νομοθετηθῇ σοι
Et facies quodcumque dixerint qui praesunt loco quem elegerit Dominus , et docuerint te
ወትገብር ፡ በከመ ፡ ቃል ፡ ዘነገሩከ ፡ በውእቱ ፡ መካን ፡ ዘኀርየ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይሰመይ ፡ ስሙ ፡ በህየ ፡ ወዕቀብ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትግበር ፡ ዘመሀሩከ ፡ ሕጎ ።
You shall do according to the decisions of the verdict which they shall give you from that place which Yahweh chooses. You shall observe to do according to all that they shall teach you.
17:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ עַל ־פִּ֨י הַתּוֹרָ֜ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר יוֹר֗וּךָ וְעַל ־הַמִּשְׁפָּ֛ט אֲשֶׁר ־יֹאמְר֥וּ לְךָ֖ תַּעֲשֶׂ֑ה לֹ֣א תָס֗וּר מִן ־הַדָּבָ֛ר אֲשֶׁר ־יַגִּ֥ידֽוּ לְךָ֖ יָמִ֥ין וּשְׂמֹֽאל ׃
κατὰ τὸν νόμον καὶ κατὰ τὴν κρίσιν ἣν ἂν εἴπωσίν σοι ποιήσεις οὐκ ἐκκλινεῖς ἀπὸ τοῦ ῥήματος οὗ ἐὰν ἀναγγείλωσίν σοι δεξιὰ οὐδὲ ἀριστερά
juxta legem ejus , sequerisque sententiam eorum , nec declinabis ad dexteram neque ad sinistram .
ወበከመ ፡ ፍትሑ ፡ ዘነገሩከ ፡ ግበር ፡ ወኢትትገሐስ ፡ እምነ ፡ ቃል ፡ ዘነገሩከ ፡ ኢለየማን ፡ ወኢለፀጋም ።
According to the decisions of the law which they shall teach you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do. You shall not turn away from the sentence which they announce to you, to the right hand, nor to the left.
17:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָאִ֞ישׁ אֲשֶׁר ־יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה בְזָד֗וֹן לְבִלְתִּ֨י שְׁמֹ֤עַ אֶל ־הַכֹּהֵן֙ הָעֹמֵ֞ד לְשָׁ֤רֶת שָׁם֙ אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ א֖וֹ אֶל ־הַשֹּׁפֵ֑ט וּמֵת֙ הָאִ֣ישׁ הַה֔וּא וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥ הָרָ֖ע מִיִּשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἂν ποιήσῃ ἐν ὑπερηφανίᾳ τοῦ μὴ ὑπακοῦσαι τοῦ ἱερέως τοῦ παρεστηκότος λειτουργεῖν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου ἢ τοῦ κριτοῦ ὃς ἂν ᾖ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ ἀποθανεῖται ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος καὶ ἐξαρεῖς τὸν πονηρὸν ἐξ Ισραηλ
Qui autem superbierit , nolens obedire sacerdotis imperio , qui eo tempore ministrat Domino Deo tuo , et decreto judicis , morietur homo ille , et auferes malum de Israël :
ወዝክቱሰ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ በትዕቢት ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይትአዘዝ ፡ ለካህን ፡ [ዘ ]ይቀውም ፡ ወይገብር ፡ በስሙ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ አው ፡ ለመኰንን ፡ ዘሀለወ ፡ በውእቶን ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ለይሙት ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ወአሰስሉ ፡ እኩየ ፡ እምነ ፡ እስራኤል ።
The man who does presumptuously in not listening to the priest who stands to minister there before Yahweh your God, or to the judge, even that man shall die. You shall put away the evil from Israel.
17:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְכׇל ־הָעָ֖ם יִשְׁמְע֣וּ וְיִרָ֑אוּ וְלֹ֥א יְזִיד֖וּן עֽוֹד ׃ {ס}
καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἀκούσας φοβηθήσεται καὶ οὐκ ἀσεβήσει ἔτι
cunctusque populus audiens timebit , ut nullus deinceps intumescat superbia .
ወኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ሰሚዖ ፡ ይፍራህ ፡ ወኢይድግም ፡ እንከ ፡ አብሶ ።
All the people shall hear and fear, and do no more presumptuously.
17:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־תָבֹ֣א אֶל ־הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ נֹתֵ֣ן לָ֔ךְ וִֽירִשְׁתָּ֖הּ וְיָשַׁ֣בְתָּה בָּ֑הּ וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ אָשִׂ֤ימָה עָלַי֙ מֶ֔לֶךְ כְּכׇל ־הַגּוֹיִ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר סְבִיבֹתָֽי ׃
ἐὰν δὲ εἰσέλθῃς εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι ἐν κλήρῳ καὶ κληρονομήσῃς αὐτὴν καὶ κατοικήσῃς ἐπ’ αὐτῆς καὶ εἴπῃς καταστήσω ἐπ’ ἐμαυτὸν ἄρχοντα καθὰ καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ ἔθνη τὰ κύκλῳ μου
Cum ingressus fueris terram , quam Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi , et possederis eam , habitaverisque in illa , et dixeris : Constituam super me regem , sicut habent omnes per circuitum nationes :
ወለእመኒ ፡ ቦእከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ይሁበከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ መክፈልተከ ፡ ወተወረስካሃ ፡ ወነበርከ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ ወትቤ ፡ እሠይም ፡ ሊተ ፡ መልአከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ እለ ፡ አውድየ ፤
When you have come to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and possess it and dwell in it, and say, “I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me,”
17:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ שׂ֣וֹם תָּשִׂ֤ים עָלֶ֙יךָ֙ מֶ֔לֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִבְחַ֛ר יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ בּ֑וֹ מִקֶּ֣רֶב אַחֶ֗יךָ תָּשִׂ֤ים עָלֶ֙יךָ֙ מֶ֔לֶךְ לֹ֣א תוּכַ֗ל לָתֵ֤ת עָלֶ֙יךָ֙ אִ֣ישׁ נׇכְרִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא ־אָחִ֖יךָ הֽוּא ׃
καθιστῶν καταστήσεις ἐπὶ σεαυτὸν ἄρχοντα ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτόν ἐκ τῶν ἀδελφῶν σου καταστήσεις ἐπὶ σεαυτὸν ἄρχοντα οὐ δυνήσῃ καταστῆσαι ἐπὶ σεαυτὸν ἄνθρωπον ἀλλότριον ὅτι οὐκ ἀδελφός σού ἐστιν
eum constitues , quem Dominus Deus tuus elegerit de numero fratrum tuorum . Non poteris alterius gentis hominem regem facere , qui non sit frater tuus .
ወትሠይም ፡ ለከ ፡ መልአከ ፡ ዘኀርየ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ አኀዊከ ፡ ወኢትክል ፡ ሠይመ ፡ ለከ ፡ ብእሴ ፡ ነኪረ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢኮነ ፡ እኁከ ፤
you shall surely set him whom Yahweh your God chooses as king over yourselves. You shall set as king over you one from among your brothers. You may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.
17:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ רַק֮ לֹא ־יַרְבֶּה ־לּ֣וֹ סוּסִים֒ וְלֹֽא ־יָשִׁ֤יב אֶת ־הָעָם֙ מִצְרַ֔יְמָה לְמַ֖עַן הַרְבּ֣וֹת ס֑וּס וַֽיהֹוָה֙ אָמַ֣ר לָכֶ֔ם לֹ֣א תֹסִפ֗וּן לָשׁ֛וּב בַּדֶּ֥רֶךְ הַזֶּ֖ה עֽוֹד ׃
διότι οὐ πληθυνεῖ ἑαυτῷ ἵππον οὐδὲ μὴ ἀποστρέψῃ τὸν λαὸν εἰς Αἴγυπτον ὅπως πληθύνῃ ἑαυτῷ ἵππον ὁ δὲ κύριος εἶπεν οὐ προσθήσετε ἀποστρέψαι τῇ ὁδῷ ταύτῃ ἔτι
Cumque fuerit constitutus , non multiplicabit sibi equos , nec reducet populum in Aegyptum , equitatus numero sublevatus , praesertim cum Dominus praeceperit vobis ut nequaquam amplius per eamdem viam revertamini .
ከመ ፡ ኢያብዝኅ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ አፍራሰ ፡ ወከመ ፡ ኢያግብኦ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ግብጽ ፡ እስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይቤ ፡ ኢትድግም ፡ እንከ ፡ ገቢኦታ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ፍኖት ።
Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; because Yahweh has said to you, “You shall not go back that way again.”
17:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְלֹ֤א יַרְבֶּה ־לּוֹ֙ נָשִׁ֔ים וְלֹ֥א יָס֖וּר לְבָב֑וֹ וְכֶ֣סֶף וְזָהָ֔ב לֹ֥א יַרְבֶּה ־לּ֖וֹ מְאֹֽד ׃
καὶ οὐ πληθυνεῖ ἑαυτῷ γυναῖκας οὐδὲ μεταστήσεται αὐτοῦ ἡ καρδία καὶ ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον οὐ πληθυνεῖ ἑαυτῷ σφόδρα
Non habebit uxores plurimas , quae alliciant animum ejus , neque argenti et auri immensa pondera .
ወኢያብዝኅ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ አንስተ ፡ ወኢይሚጥ ፡ ልቦ ፡ ወኢያብዝኅ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ወብሩረ ፡ ጥቀ ።
He shall not multiply wives to himself, that his heart not turn away. He shall not greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
17:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֣ה כְשִׁבְתּ֔וֹ עַ֖ל כִּסֵּ֣א מַמְלַכְתּ֑וֹ וְכָ֨תַב ל֜וֹ אֶת ־מִשְׁנֵ֨ה הַתּוֹרָ֤ה הַזֹּאת֙ עַל ־סֵ֔פֶר מִלִּפְנֵ֖י הַכֹּהֲנִ֥ים הַלְוִיִּֽם ׃
καὶ ἔσται ὅταν καθίσῃ ἐπὶ τῆς ἀρχῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ γράψει ἑαυτῷ τὸ δευτερονόμιον τοῦτο εἰς βιβλίον παρὰ τῶν ἱερέων τῶν Λευιτῶν
Postquam autem sederit in solio regni sui , describet sibi Deuteronomium legis hujus in volumine , accipiens exemplar a sacerdotibus Leviticae tribus ,
ወሶበ ፡ ነበረ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምኵናኑ ፡ ለይጽሐፍ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ዳግመ ፡ ኦሪተ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ እምኀበ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ወሌዋውያን ።
It shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write himself a copy of this law in a book, out of that which is before the Levitical priests.
17:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיְתָ֣ה עִמּ֔וֹ וְקָ֥רָא ב֖וֹ כׇּל ־יְמֵ֣י חַיָּ֑יו לְמַ֣עַן יִלְמַ֗ד לְיִרְאָה֙ אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔יו לִ֠שְׁמֹ֠ר אֶֽת ־כׇּל ־דִּבְרֵ֞י הַתּוֹרָ֥ה הַזֹּ֛את וְאֶת ־הַחֻקִּ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה לַעֲשֹׂתָֽם ׃
καὶ ἔσται μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀναγνώσεται ἐν αὐτῷ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ ἵνα μάθῃ φοβεῖσθαι κύριον τὸν θεὸν αὐτοῦ φυλάσσεσθαι πάσας τὰς ἐντολὰς ταύτας καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα ταῦτα ποιεῖν
et habebit secum , legetque illud omnibus diebus vitae suae , ut discat timere Dominum Deum suum , et custodire verba et caeremonias ejus , quae in lege praecepta sunt .
ወይንቦር ፡ ኀቤሁ ፡ ወ [ያ ]ንብብ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ ሕይወቱ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትመሀር ፡ ፍኖቶ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኩ ፡ ወይዕቀብ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ትእዛዞ ፡ ወይግበር ፡ ኵነኔሁ ፤
It shall be with him, and he shall read from it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear Yahweh his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them;
17:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ לְבִלְתִּ֤י רוּם ־לְבָבוֹ֙ מֵֽאֶחָ֔יו וּלְבִלְתִּ֛י ס֥וּר מִן ־הַמִּצְוָ֖ה יָמִ֣ין וּשְׂמֹ֑אול לְמַ֩עַן֩ יַאֲרִ֨יךְ יָמִ֧ים עַל ־מַמְלַכְתּ֛וֹ ה֥וּא וּבָנָ֖יו בְּקֶ֥רֶב יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃ {ס}
ἵνα μὴ ὑψωθῇ ἡ καρδία αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτοῦ ἵνα μὴ παραβῇ ἀπὸ τῶν ἐντολῶν δεξιὰ ἢ ἀριστερά ὅπως ἂν μακροχρονίσῃ ἐπὶ τῆς ἀρχῆς αὐτοῦ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ
Nec elevetur cor ejus in superbiam super fratres suos , neque declinet in partem dexteram vel sinistram , ut longo tempore regnet ipse et filii ejus super Israël .
ከመ ፡ ኢያዕቢ ፡ ልቦ ፡ እምነ ፡ አኀዊሁ ፡ ወከመ ፡ ኢይኅድግ ፡ እምነ ፡ ትእዛዙ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኩ ፡ ወኢይትገሐሥ ፡ ኢለየማን ፡ ወኢለፀጋም ፡ ከመ ፡ ያንኅ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ምኵናኑ ፡ ወውእቱ ፡ ወውሉዱ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ።
that his heart not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he not turn away from the commandment to the right hand, or to the left, to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the middle of Israel.
