18:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹֽא ־יִ֠הְיֶ֠ה לַכֹּהֲנִ֨ים הַלְוִיִּ֜ם כׇּל ־שֵׁ֧בֶט לֵוִ֛י חֵ֥לֶק וְנַחֲלָ֖ה עִם ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִשֵּׁ֧י יְהֹוָ֛ה וְנַחֲלָת֖וֹ יֹאכֵלֽוּן ׃
οὐκ ἔσται τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν τοῖς Λευίταις ὅλῃ φυλῇ Λευι μερὶς οὐδὲ κλῆρος μετὰ Ισραηλ καρπώματα κυρίου ὁ κλῆρος αὐτῶν φάγονται αὐτά
Non habebunt sacerdotes et Levitae , et omnes qui de eadem tribu sunt , partem et haereditatem cum reliquo Israël , quia sacrificia Domini , et oblationes ejus comedent ,
ወአልቦሙ ፡ መክፈልተ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ወሌዋውያን ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ሌዊ ፡ ምስለ ፡ እስራኤል ፤ መባኡ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ክፍሎሙ ፡ ወኪያሁ ፡ ይሴሰዩ ።
The priests and the Levites—all the tribe of Levi—shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel. They shall eat the offerings of Yahweh made by fire and his portion.
18:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְנַחֲלָ֥ה לֹא ־יִֽהְיֶה ־לּ֖וֹ בְּקֶ֣רֶב אֶחָ֑יו יְהֹוָה֙ ה֣וּא נַחֲלָת֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּר ־לֽוֹ ׃ {ס}
κλῆρος δὲ οὐκ ἔσται αὐτοῖς ἐν τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς αὐτῶν κύριος αὐτὸς κλῆρος αὐτοῦ καθότι εἶπεν αὐτῷ
et nihil aliud accipient de possessione fratrum suorum : Dominus enim ipse est haereditas eorum , sicut locutus est illis .
ወክፍለ ፡ ባሕቱ ፡ አልቦሙ ፡ በውስተ ፡ አኀዊሆሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ክፍሉ ፡ በከመ ፡ ይቤሎ ።
They shall have no inheritance among their brothers. Yahweh is their inheritance, as he has spoken to them.
18:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְזֶ֡ה יִהְיֶה֩ מִשְׁפַּ֨ט הַכֹּהֲנִ֜ים מֵאֵ֣ת הָעָ֗ם מֵאֵ֛ת זֹבְחֵ֥י הַזֶּ֖בַח אִם ־שׁ֣וֹר אִם ־שֶׂ֑ה וְנָתַן֙ לַכֹּהֵ֔ן הַזְּרֹ֥עַ וְהַלְּחָיַ֖יִם וְהַקֵּבָֽה ׃
καὶ αὕτη ἡ κρίσις τῶν ἱερέων τὰ παρὰ τοῦ λαοῦ παρὰ τῶν θυόντων τὰ θύματα ἐάν τε μόσχον ἐάν τε πρόβατον καὶ δώσει τῷ ἱερεῖ τὸν βραχίονα καὶ τὰ σιαγόνια καὶ τὸ ἔνυστρον
Hoc erit judicium sacerdotum a populo , et ab his qui offerunt victimas : sive bovem , sive ovem immolaverint , dabunt sacerdoti armum ac ventriculum :
ወዝንቱ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሕጎሙ ፡ ለካህናት ፡ ዘእምኀበ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ እለ ፡ ይጠብኁ ፡ ጥብኀ ፡ እመኒ ፡ ላህመ ፡ ወእመኒ ፡ በግዐ ፡ ዘይሁብዎ ፡ ለካህን ፡ መዝራዕተ ፡ ወሕልቀ ፡ ወቈስጤ ።
This shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give to the priest: the shoulder, the two cheeks, and the inner parts.
18:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ רֵאשִׁ֨ית דְּגָֽנְךָ֜ תִּירֹשְׁךָ֣ וְיִצְהָרֶ֗ךָ וְרֵאשִׁ֛ית גֵּ֥ז צֹאנְךָ֖ תִּתֶּן ־לֽוֹ ׃
καὶ τὰς ἀπαρχὰς τοῦ σίτου σου καὶ τοῦ οἴνου σου καὶ τοῦ ἐλαίου σου καὶ τὴν ἀπαρχὴν τῶν κουρῶν τῶν προβάτων σου δώσεις αὐτῷ
primitias frumenti , vini , et olei , et lanarum partem ex ovium tonsione .
ወቀዳሜ ፡ እክልከ ፡ ወቀዳሜ ፡ ወይንከ ፡ ወቀዳሜ ፡ ቅብእከ ፡ ወእምነ ፡ ዘቀረፅከ ፡ አባግዒከ ፡ ትሁቦ ።
You shall give him the first fruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep.
18:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י ב֗וֹ בָּחַ֛ר יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ מִכׇּל ־שְׁבָטֶ֑יךָ לַעֲמֹ֨ד לְשָׁרֵ֧ת בְּשֵׁם ־יְהֹוָ֛ה ה֥וּא וּבָנָ֖יו כׇּל ־הַיָּמִֽים ׃ {ס}
ὅτι αὐτὸν ἐξελέξατο κύριος ὁ θεός σου ἐκ πασῶν τῶν φυλῶν σου παρεστάναι ἔναντι κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου λειτουργεῖν καὶ εὐλογεῖν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ
Ipsum enim elegit Dominus Deus tuus de cunctis tribubus tuis , ut stet , et ministret nomini Domini , ipse , et filii ejus in sempiternum .
እስመ ፡ ኀር [ዮ ] ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዘቢከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይቁም ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ወይትለአኮ ፡ ወይባርክ ፡ በስመ ፡ ዚአሁ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወደቂቁ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕል ።
For Yahweh your God has chosen him out of all your tribes to stand to minister in Yahweh’s name, him and his sons forever.
18:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְכִֽי ־יָבֹ֨א הַלֵּוִ֜י מֵאַחַ֤ד שְׁעָרֶ֙יךָ֙ מִכׇּל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁר ־ה֖וּא גָּ֣ר שָׁ֑ם וּבָא֙ בְּכׇל ־אַוַּ֣ת נַפְשׁ֔וֹ אֶל ־הַמָּק֖וֹם אֲשֶׁר ־יִבְחַ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה ׃
ἐὰν δὲ παραγένηται ὁ Λευίτης ἐκ μιᾶς τῶν πόλεων ὑμῶν ἐκ πάντων τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ οὗ αὐτὸς παροικεῖ καθότι ἐπιθυμεῖ ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν ἂν ἐκλέξηται κύριος
Si exierit Levites ex una urbium tuarum ex omni Israël in qua habitat , et voluerit venire , desiderans locum quem elegerit Dominus ,
ወለእመ ፡ መጽአ ፡ ሌዋዊ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ አህጉሪክሙ ፡ ዘእምነ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ዘኀበ ፡ ይነብር ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እስመ ፡ ፈተወ ፡ በነፍሱ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትለአክ ፡ በውእቱ ፡ መካን ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኀርየ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፤
If a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel where he lives, and comes with all the desire of his soul to the place which Yahweh shall choose,
18:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשֵׁרֵ֕ת בְּשֵׁ֖ם יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֑יו כְּכׇל ־אֶחָיו֙ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם הָעֹמְדִ֥ים שָׁ֖ם לִפְנֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ λειτουργήσει τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτοῦ ὥσπερ πάντες οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ οἱ Λευῖται οἱ παρεστηκότες ἐκεῖ ἔναντι κυρίου
ministrabit in nomine Domini Dei sui , sicut omnes fratres ejus Levitae , qui stabunt eo tempore coram Domino .
ወይትቀነይ ፡ ለስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አኀዊሁ ፡ ሌዋውያን ፡ እለ ፡ ይቀውሙ ፡ ህየ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
then he shall minister in the name of Yahweh his God, as all his brothers the Levites do, who stand there before Yahweh.
18:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ חֵ֥לֶק כְּחֵ֖לֶק יֹאכֵ֑לוּ לְבַ֥ד מִמְכָּרָ֖יו עַל ־הָאָבֽוֹת ׃ {ס}
μερίδα μεμερισμένην φάγεται πλὴν τῆς πράσεως τῆς κατὰ πατριάν
Partem ciborum eamdem accipiet , quam et ceteri : excepto eo , quod in urbe sua ex paterna ei successione debetur .
ይትከፈል ፡ መክፈልቶ ፡ ወይሴሰይ ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ ዘበ ፡ ሢመቱ ፡ ዘበ ፡ ሀገሩ ።
They shall have like portions to eat, in addition to that which comes from the sale of his family possessions.
18:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֤י אַתָּה֙ בָּ֣א אֶל ־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר ־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ נֹתֵ֣ן לָ֑ךְ לֹֽא ־תִלְמַ֣ד לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת כְּתוֹעֲבֹ֖ת הַגּוֹיִ֥ם הָהֵֽם ׃
ἐὰν δὲ εἰσέλθῃς εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι οὐ μαθήσῃ ποιεῖν κατὰ τὰ βδελύγματα τῶν ἐθνῶν ἐκείνων
Quando ingressus fueris terram , quam Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi , cave ne imitari velis abominationes illarum gentium .
ወለእመ ፡ ቦእከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ይሁበከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ኢትትመሀር ፡ ገቢረ ፡ ከመ ፡ ርኵሶሙ ፡ ለውእቶሙ ፡ አሕዛብ ።
When you have come into the land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the abominations of those nations.
18:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹֽא ־יִמָּצֵ֣א בְךָ֔ מַעֲבִ֥יר בְּנֽוֹ ־וּבִתּ֖וֹ בָּאֵ֑שׁ קֹסֵ֣ם קְסָמִ֔ים מְעוֹנֵ֥ן וּמְנַחֵ֖שׁ וּמְכַשֵּֽׁף ׃
οὐχ εὑρεθήσεται ἐν σοὶ περικαθαίρων τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ ἢ τὴν θυγατέρα αὐτοῦ ἐν πυρί μαντευόμενος μαντείαν κληδονιζόμενος καὶ οἰωνιζόμενος φαρμακός
Nec inveniatur in te qui lustret filium suum , aut filiam , ducens per ignem : aut qui ariolos sciscitetur , et observet somnia atque auguria , nec sit maleficus ,
ወኢይትረከብ ፡ በውስቴትክሙ ፡ ዘይሠውዕ ፡ ወልዶ ፡ አው ፡ ወለቶ ፡ በእሳት ፡ ወዘያስተቀስም ፡ መቅሰመ ፡ ወዘያስተሰግል ፡ ወዘይጤየር ፤
There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who tells fortunes, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,
18:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְחֹבֵ֖ר חָ֑בֶר וְשֹׁאֵ֥ל אוֹב֙ וְיִדְּעֹנִ֔י וְדֹרֵ֖שׁ אֶל ־הַמֵּתִֽים ׃
ἐπαείδων ἐπαοιδήν ἐγγαστρίμυθος καὶ τερατοσκόπος ἐπερωτῶν τοὺς νεκρούς
nec incantator , nec qui pythones consulat , nec divinos , aut quaerat a mortuis veritatem .
ወዘሥራይ ፡ ወዘሐርስ ፡ ወዘበፃውዕ ፡ ወዘያነቅህ ፡ ምውተ ፡ ወዘያስተሰግል ፡ በዖፍ ።
or a charmer, or someone who consults with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
18:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־תוֹעֲבַ֥ת יְהֹוָ֖ה כׇּל ־עֹ֣שֵׂה אֵ֑לֶּה וּבִגְלַל֙ הַתּוֹעֵבֹ֣ת הָאֵ֔לֶּה יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ מוֹרִ֥ישׁ אוֹתָ֖ם מִפָּנֶֽיךָ ׃
ἔστιν γὰρ βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου πᾶς ποιῶν ταῦτα ἕνεκεν γὰρ τῶν βδελυγμάτων τούτων κύριος ἐξολεθρεύσει αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ σοῦ
Omnia enim haec abominatur Dominus , et propter istiusmodi scelera delebit eos in introitu tuo .
እስመ ፡ ርኩስ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘይገብሮ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እስመ ፡ በበይነ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ርኵሶሙ ፡ ያጠፍኦሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እምኔከ ።
For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. Because of these abominations, Yahweh your God drives them out from before you.
18:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ תָּמִ֣ים תִּֽהְיֶ֔ה עִ֖ם יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ ׃
τέλειος ἔσῃ ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου
Perfectus eris , et absque macula cum Domino Deo tuo .
ወኩን ፡ ፍጹመ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ።
You shall be blameless with Yahweh your God.
18:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י ׀ הַגּוֹיִ֣ם הָאֵ֗לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֤ר אַתָּה֙ יוֹרֵ֣שׁ אוֹתָ֔ם אֶל ־מְעֹנְנִ֥ים וְאֶל ־קֹסְמִ֖ים יִשְׁמָ֑עוּ וְאַתָּ֕ה לֹ֣א כֵ֔ן נָ֥תַן לְךָ֖ יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ ׃
τὰ γὰρ ἔθνη ταῦτα οὓς σὺ κατακληρονομεῖς αὐτούς οὗτοι κληδόνων καὶ μαντειῶν ἀκούσονται σοὶ δὲ οὐχ οὕτως ἔδωκεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου
Gentes istae , quarum possidebis terram , augures et divinos audiunt : tu autem a Domino Deo tuo aliter institutus es .
እስመ ፡ እልክቱ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ እለ ፡ አንተ ፡ ትትወረሶሙ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ያስተሰግሉ ፡ ወያጸምኡ ፡ መቅሰመ ፡ ወለከሰ ፡ አኮ ፡ ከማሁ ።
For these nations that you shall dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery and to diviners; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you so to do.
18:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ נָבִ֨יא מִקִּרְבְּךָ֤ מֵאַחֶ֙יךָ֙ כָּמֹ֔נִי יָקִ֥ים לְךָ֖ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ אֵלָ֖יו תִּשְׁמָעֽוּן ׃
προφήτην ἐκ τῶν ἀδελφῶν σου ὡς ἐμὲ ἀναστήσει σοι κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτοῦ ἀκούσεσθε
Prophetam de gente tua et de fratribus tuis , sicut me , suscitabit tibi Dominus Deus tuus : ipsum audies ,
ነቢየ ፡ ወሀበከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ አኀዊከ ፡ ዘከማየ ፡ ወያነሥእ ፡ ለከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ወሎቱ ፡ ስምዕዎ ፡ በኵሉ ።
Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from among you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.
18:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ כְּכֹ֨ל אֲשֶׁר ־שָׁאַ֜לְתָּ מֵעִ֨ם יְהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ בְּחֹרֵ֔ב בְּי֥וֹם הַקָּהָ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר לֹ֣א אֹסֵ֗ף לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ אֶת ־קוֹל֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֔י וְאֶת ־הָאֵ֨שׁ הַגְּדֹלָ֥ה הַזֹּ֛את לֹֽא ־אֶרְאֶ֥ה ע֖וֹד וְלֹ֥א אָמֽוּת ׃
κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ᾐτήσω παρὰ κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου ἐν Χωρηβ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῆς ἐκκλησίας λέγοντες οὐ προσθήσομεν ἀκοῦσαι τὴν φωνὴν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν καὶ τὸ πῦρ τὸ μέγα τοῦτο οὐκ ὀψόμεθα ἔτι οὐδὲ μὴ ἀποθάνωμεν
ut petisti a Domino Deo tuo in Horeb , quando concio congregata est , atque dixisti : Ultra non audiam vocem Domini Dei mei , et ignem hunc maximum amplius non videbo , ne moriar .
ወኵሉ ፡ ዘሰአልካሁ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ በኮሬብ ፡ አመ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ተጋባእክሙ ፡ ወትቤሉ ፡ ኢንድግም ፡ እንከ ፡ ሰሚዖተ ፡ ቃሎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ፡ ወዛቲኒ ፡ እሳት ፡ ዐባይ ፡ ኢንርአያ ፡ እንከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢንሙት ።
This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, “Let me not hear again Yahweh my God’s voice, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.”
18:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֵלָ֑י הֵיטִ֖יבוּ אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽרוּ ׃
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρός με ὀρθῶς πάντα ὅσα ἐλάλησαν
Et ait Dominus mihi : Bene omnia sunt locuti .
ወይቤለኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አማን ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘይቤሉ ።
Yahweh said to me, “They have well said that which they have spoken.
18:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ נָבִ֨יא אָקִ֥ים לָהֶ֛ם מִקֶּ֥רֶב אֲחֵיהֶ֖ם כָּמ֑וֹךָ וְנָתַתִּ֤י דְבָרַי֙ בְּפִ֔יו וְדִבֶּ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם אֵ֖ת כׇּל ־אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲצַוֶּֽנּוּ ׃
προφήτην ἀναστήσω αὐτοῖς ἐκ τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν ὥσπερ σὲ καὶ δώσω τὸ ῥῆμά μου ἐν τῷ στόματι αὐτοῦ καὶ λαλήσει αὐτοῖς καθότι ἂν ἐντείλωμαι αὐτῷ
Prophetam suscitabo eis de medio fratrum suorum similem tui : et ponam verba mea in ore ejus , loqueturque ad eos omnia quae praecepero illi .
ነቢየ ፡ ኣነሥእ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ እምውስተ ፡ አኀዊሆሙ ፡ ዘከማከ ፡ ወእሁብ ፡ ቃልየ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አፉሁ ፡ ወይነግሮሙ ፡ ዘከመ ፡ አዘዝክዎ ።
I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you. I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.
18:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֗ה הָאִישׁ֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא ־יִשְׁמַע֙ אֶל ־דְּבָרַ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְדַבֵּ֖ר בִּשְׁמִ֑י אָנֹכִ֖י אֶדְרֹ֥שׁ מֵעִמּֽוֹ ׃
καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἐὰν μὴ ἀκούσῃ ὅσα ἐὰν λαλήσῃ ὁ προφήτης ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐγὼ ἐκδικήσω ἐξ αὐτοῦ
Qui autem verba ejus , quae loquetur in nomine meo , audire noluerit , ego ultor existam .
ወብእሲ ፡ ዘኢይሰምዖ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ነቢይ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ዘነገረ ፡ በስመ ፡ ዚአየ ፡ አነ ፡ እትቤቀል ፡ እምኔሁ ።
It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
18:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ אַ֣ךְ הַנָּבִ֡יא אֲשֶׁ֣ר יָזִיד֩ לְדַבֵּ֨ר דָּבָ֜ר בִּשְׁמִ֗י אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא ־צִוִּיתִיו֙ לְדַבֵּ֔ר וַאֲשֶׁ֣ר יְדַבֵּ֔ר בְּשֵׁ֖ם אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֑ים וּמֵ֖ת הַנָּבִ֥יא הַהֽוּא ׃
πλὴν ὁ προφήτης ὃς ἂν ἀσεβήσῃ λαλῆσαι ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί μου ῥῆμα ὃ οὐ προσέταξα λαλῆσαι καὶ ὃς ἂν λαλήσῃ ἐπ’ ὀνόματι θεῶν ἑτέρων ἀποθανεῖται ὁ προφήτης ἐκεῖνος
Propheta autem qui arrogantia depravatus voluerit loqui in nomine meo , quae ego non praecepi illi ut diceret , aut ex nomine alienorum deorum , interficietur .
ወባሕቱ ፡ ነቢይ ፡ ዘይኤብስ ፡ ወይነብብ ፡ ቃለ ፡ በስምየ ፡ ዘኢአዘዝክዎ ፡ ይንብብ ፡ ወዘነበበሂ ፡ በስመ ፡ ባዕድ ፡ አማልክት ፡ ለይሙት ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ነቢይ ።
But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.”
18:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְכִ֥י תֹאמַ֖ר בִּלְבָבֶ֑ךָ אֵיכָה֙ נֵדַ֣ע אֶת ־הַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא ־דִבְּר֖וֹ יְהֹוָֽה ׃
ἐὰν δὲ εἴπῃς ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ σου πῶς γνωσόμεθα τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ οὐκ ἐλάλησεν κύριος
Quod si tacita cogitatione responderis : Quomodo possum intelligere verbum , quod Dominus non est locutus ?
ወለእመ ፡ ትብል ፡ በልብከ ፡ እፎ ፡ ኣአምር ፡ ቃለ ፡ ዘኢይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤
You may say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?”
18:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֲשֶׁר֩ יְדַבֵּ֨ר הַנָּבִ֜יא בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהֹוָ֗ה וְלֹֽא ־יִהְיֶ֤ה הַדָּבָר֙ וְלֹ֣א יָבֹ֔א ה֣וּא הַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹא ־דִבְּר֖וֹ יְהֹוָ֑ה בְּזָדוֹן֙ דִּבְּר֣וֹ הַנָּבִ֔יא לֹ֥א תָג֖וּר מִמֶּֽנּוּ ׃ {ס}
ὅσα ἐὰν λαλήσῃ ὁ προφήτης ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου καὶ μὴ γένηται τὸ ῥῆμα καὶ μὴ συμβῇ τοῦτο τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ οὐκ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ἐν ἀσεβείᾳ ἐλάλησεν ὁ προφήτης ἐκεῖνος οὐκ ἀφέξεσθε αὐτοῦ
hoc habebis signum : quod in nomine Domini propheta ille praedixerit , et non evenerit : hoc Dominus non est locutus , sed per tumorem animi sui propheta confinxit : et idcirco non timebis eum .
እምነ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘነበበ ፡ ነቢይ ፡ በስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እምከመ ፡ ኢበጽሐ ፡ ቃሉ ፡ ወኢኮነ ፡ በከመ ፡ [ይቤ ፡] ኢነበቦ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ቃል ፡ ወበሐሰት ፡ ነበበ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ነቢይ ፡ ወኢትስምዕዎ ።
When a prophet speaks in Yahweh’s name, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.
