4:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעַתָּ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל שְׁמַ֤ע אֶל ־הַֽחֻקִּים֙ וְאֶל ־הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָֽנֹכִ֛י מְלַמֵּ֥ד אֶתְכֶ֖ם לַעֲשׂ֑וֹת לְמַ֣עַן תִּֽחְי֗וּ וּבָאתֶם֙ וִֽירִשְׁתֶּ֣ם אֶת ־הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבֹתֵיכֶ֖ם נֹתֵ֥ן לָכֶֽם ׃
καὶ νῦν Ισραηλ ἄκουε τῶν δικαιωμάτων καὶ τῶν κριμάτων ὅσα ἐγὼ διδάσκω ὑμᾶς σήμερον ποιεῖν ἵνα ζῆτε καὶ πολυπλασιασθῆτε καὶ εἰσελθόντες κληρονομήσητε τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν δίδωσιν ὑμῖν
Et nunc , Israël , audi praecepta et judicia , quae ego doceo te : ut faciens ea , vivas , et ingrediens possideas terram , quam Dominus Deus patrum vestrorum daturus est vobis .
ወይእዜኒ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ስምዑ ፡ ኵነኔሁ ፡ ወፍትሖ ፡ ዛእሜህረክሙ ፡ አነ ፡ ዮም ፡ ከመ ፡ ትግበሩ ፡ ወትኅየው ፡ ወትትባዝኁ ፡ ወትባኡ ፡ ወትትዋረስዋ ፡ ለምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ይሁበክሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኮሙ ፡ ለአበዊክሙ ።
Now, Israel, listen to the statutes and to the ordinances which I teach you, to do them, that you may live and go in and possess the land which Yahweh, the God of your fathers, gives you.
4:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ לֹ֣א תֹסִ֗פוּ עַל ־הַדָּבָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר אָנֹכִי֙ מְצַוֶּ֣ה אֶתְכֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א תִגְרְע֖וּ מִמֶּ֑נּוּ לִשְׁמֹ֗ר אֶת ־מִצְוֺת֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י מְצַוֶּ֥ה אֶתְכֶֽם ׃
οὐ προσθήσετε πρὸς τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι ὑμῖν καὶ οὐκ ἀφελεῖτε ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ φυλάσσεσθε τὰς ἐντολὰς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι ὑμῖν σήμερον
Non addetis ad verbum , quod vobis loquor , nec auferetis ex eo : custodite mandata Domini Dei vestri , quae ego praecipio vobis .
ኢትወስኩ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ቃል ፡ ዘእኤዝዘክሙ ፡ አነ ፡ ዮም ፡ ወኢትንትጉ ፡ እምኔሁ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትዕቀቡ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ትእዛዞ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ።
You shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall you take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you.
4:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ עֵֽינֵיכֶם֙ הָֽרֹא֔וֹת אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר ־עָשָׂ֥ה יְהֹוָ֖ה בְּבַ֣עַל פְּע֑וֹר כִּ֣י כׇל ־הָאִ֗ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֤ר הָלַךְ֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י בַֽעַל ־פְּע֔וֹר הִשְׁמִיד֛וֹ יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ ׃
οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμῶν ἑωράκασιν πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν τῷ Βεελφεγωρ ὅτι πᾶς ἄνθρωπος ὅστις ἐπορεύθη ὀπίσω Βεελφεγωρ ἐξέτριψεν αὐτὸν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν ἐξ ὑμῶν
Oculi vestri viderunt omnia quae fecit Dominus contra Beelphegor , quomodo contriverit omnes cultores ejus de medio vestri .
አዕይንቲክሙ ፡ ርእያ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ፡ በብዔል ፡ ፌጎር ፡ እስመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዘሖረ ፡ ድኅሬሁ ፡ ለብዔል ፡ ፌጎር ፡ ቀጥቀጦ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ፡ እምኔክሙ ።
Your eyes have seen what Yahweh did because of Baal Peor; for Yahweh your God has destroyed all the men who followed Baal Peor from among you.
4:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתֶּם֙ הַדְּבֵקִ֔ים בַּיהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם חַיִּ֥ים כֻּלְּכֶ֖ם הַיּֽוֹם ׃
ὑμεῖς δὲ οἱ προσκείμενοι κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ ὑμῶν ζῆτε πάντες ἐν τῇ σήμερον
Vos autem qui adhaeretis Domino Deo vestro , vivitis universi usque in praesentem diem .
ወአንትሙሰ ፡ እለ ፡ ገባእክሙ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ፡ ሕያው ፡ ኵልክሙ ፡ ዮም ።
But you who were faithful to Yahweh your God are all alive today.
4:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ רְאֵ֣ה ׀ לִמַּ֣דְתִּי אֶתְכֶ֗ם חֻקִּים֙ וּמִשְׁפָּטִ֔ים כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוַּ֖נִי יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֑י לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת כֵּ֔ן בְּקֶ֣רֶב הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֛ם בָּאִ֥ים שָׁ֖מָּה לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ ׃
ἴδετε δέδειχα ὑμῖν δικαιώματα καὶ κρίσεις καθὰ ἐνετείλατό μοι κύριος ποιῆσαι οὕτως ἐν τῇ γῇ εἰς ἣν ὑμεῖς εἰσπορεύεσθε ἐκεῖ κληρονομεῖν αὐτήν
Scitis quod docuerim vos praecepta atque justitias , sicut mandavit mihi Dominus Deus meus : sic facietis ea in terra , quam possessuri estis :
ናሁ ፡ ርእዩ ፡ ዘአርአይኩክሙ ፡ ኵነኔ ፡ ወፍትሐ ፡ በከመ ፡ አዘዘኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እግበር ፡ ከማሁ ፡ በምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ትበውኡ ፡ ህየ ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትትዋረስዋ ።
Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as Yahweh my God commanded me, that you should do so in the middle of the land where you go in to possess it.
4:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם֮ וַעֲשִׂיתֶם֒ כִּ֣י הִ֤וא חׇכְמַתְכֶם֙ וּבִ֣ינַתְכֶ֔ם לְעֵינֵ֖י הָעַמִּ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִשְׁמְע֗וּן אֵ֚ת כׇּל ־הַחֻקִּ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וְאָמְר֗וּ רַ֚ק עַם ־חָכָ֣ם וְנָב֔וֹן הַגּ֥וֹי הַגָּד֖וֹל הַזֶּֽה ׃
καὶ φυλάξεσθε καὶ ποιήσετε ὅτι αὕτη ἡ σοφία ὑμῶν καὶ ἡ σύνεσις ἐναντίον πάντων τῶν ἐθνῶν ὅσοι ἐὰν ἀκούσωσιν πάντα τὰ δικαιώματα ταῦτα καὶ ἐροῦσιν ἰδοὺ λαὸς σοφὸς καὶ ἐπιστήμων τὸ ἔθνος τὸ μέγα τοῦτο
et observabitis et implebitis opere . Haec est enim vestra sapientia , et intellectus coram populis , ut audientes universa praecepta haec , dicant : En populus sapiens et intelligens , gens magna .
ወዕቀብዎ ፡ ወግበርዎ ፡ እስመ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ጥበብክሙ ፡ ወአእምሮትክሙ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ እለ ፡ ይሰምዕዎ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ኵነኔ ፡ ወይብሉ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ ወማእምር ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዝንቱ ።
Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who shall hear all these statutes and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”
4:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֚י מִי ־ג֣וֹי גָּד֔וֹל אֲשֶׁר ־ל֥וֹ אֱלֹהִ֖ים קְרֹבִ֣ים אֵלָ֑יו כַּיהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ בְּכׇל ־קׇרְאֵ֖נוּ אֵלָֽיו ׃
ὅτι ποῖον ἔθνος μέγα ᾧ ἐστιν αὐτῷ θεὸς ἐγγίζων αὐτοῖς ὡς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐὰν αὐτὸν ἐπικαλεσώμεθα
Nec est alia natio tam grandis , quae habeat deos appropinquantes sibi , sicut Deus noster adest cunctis obsecrationibus nostris .
ወመኑ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ዘቦቱ ፡ አምላከ ፡ ዘይቀርቦ ፡ ከመ ፡ አምላክነ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ዘጸዋዕናሁ ።
For what great nation is there that has a god so near to them as Yahweh our God is whenever we call on him?
4:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּמִי֙ גּ֣וֹי גָּד֔וֹל אֲשֶׁר ־ל֛וֹ חֻקִּ֥ים וּמִשְׁפָּטִ֖ים צַדִּיקִ֑ם כְּכֹל֙ הַתּוֹרָ֣ה הַזֹּ֔את אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָנֹכִ֛י נֹתֵ֥ן לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם הַיּֽוֹם ׃
καὶ ποῖον ἔθνος μέγα ᾧ ἐστιν αὐτῷ δικαιώματα καὶ κρίματα δίκαια κατὰ πάντα τὸν νόμον τοῦτον ὃν ἐγὼ δίδωμι ἐνώπιον ὑμῶν σήμερον
Quae est enim alia gens sic inclyta , ut habeat caeremonias , justaque judicia , et universam legem , quam ego proponam hodie ante oculos vestros ?
ወመኑ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ዘቦቱ ፡ ኵነኔ ፡ ወፍትሐ ፡ ዘጽድቅ ፡ በከመ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕግ ፡ ዘአነ ፡ እሁበክሙ ፡ ዮም ፡ ቅድሜክሙ ።
What great nation is there that has statutes and ordinances so righteous as all this law which I set before you today?
4:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ רַ֡ק הִשָּׁ֣מֶר לְךָ֩ וּשְׁמֹ֨ר נַפְשְׁךָ֜ מְאֹ֗ד פֶּן ־תִּשְׁכַּ֨ח אֶת ־הַדְּבָרִ֜ים אֲשֶׁר ־רָא֣וּ עֵינֶ֗יךָ וּפֶן ־יָס֙וּרוּ֙ מִלְּבָ֣בְךָ֔ כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֣י חַיֶּ֑יךָ וְהוֹדַעְתָּ֥ם לְבָנֶ֖יךָ וְלִבְנֵ֥י בָנֶֽיךָ ׃
πρόσεχε σεαυτῷ καὶ φύλαξον τὴν ψυχήν σου σφόδρα μὴ ἐπιλάθῃ πάντας τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἑωράκασιν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου καὶ μὴ ἀποστήτωσαν ἀπὸ τῆς καρδίας σου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς σου καὶ συμβιβάσεις τοὺς υἱούς σου καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν υἱῶν σου
Custodi igitur temetipsum , et animam tuam sollicite . Ne obliviscaris verborum , quae viderunt oculi tui , et ne excidant de corde tuo cunctis diebus vitae tuae . Docebis ea filios ac nepotes tuos ,
ዑቅ ፡ ርእሰከ ፡ ወዕቀብ ፡ ነፍሰከ ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትርሳዕ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ዘርእያ ፡ አዕይንቲከ ፡ ወኢይፃእ ፡ እምነ ፡ ልብከ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ ሕይወትከ ፡ ወማህሮሙ ፡ ለደቂቅከ ፡ ወለደቂቀ ፡ ደቂቅከ ።
Only be careful, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes saw, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your children and your children’s children—
4:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ י֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָמַ֜דְתָּ לִפְנֵ֨י יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֘יךָ֮ בְּחֹרֵב֒ בֶּאֱמֹ֨ר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֵלַ֗י הַקְהֶל ־לִי֙ אֶת ־הָעָ֔ם וְאַשְׁמִעֵ֖ם אֶת ־דְּבָרָ֑י אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִלְמְד֜וּן לְיִרְאָ֣ה אֹתִ֗י כׇּל ־הַיָּמִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵ֤ם חַיִּים֙ עַל ־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה וְאֶת ־בְּנֵיהֶ֖ם יְלַמֵּדֽוּן ׃
ἡμέραν ἣν ἔστητε ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν ἐν Χωρηβ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῆς ἐκκλησίας ὅτε εἶπεν κύριος πρός με ἐκκλησίασον πρός με τὸν λαόν καὶ ἀκουσάτωσαν τὰ ῥήματά μου ὅπως μάθωσιν φοβεῖσθαί με πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἃς αὐτοὶ ζῶσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτῶν διδάξωσιν
a die in quo stetisti coram Domino Deo tuo in Horeb , quando Dominus locutus est mihi , dicens : Congrega ad me populum , ut audiant sermones meos , et discant timere me omni tempore quo vivunt in terra , doceantque filios suos .
ወአይድዖሙ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ቆምክሙ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ፡ በኮሬብ ፡ አመ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ ተጋባእክሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ ይቤለኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አስተጋብኦሙ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ ወይስምዑ ፡ ቃልየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይት [መ ]ሀሩ ፡ ፈሪሆትየ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ እለ ፡ ቦንቱ ፡ የሐይው ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወይሜህሩ ፡ ለደቂቆሙ ።
the day that you stood before Yahweh your God in Horeb, when Yahweh said to me, “Assemble the people to me, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.”
4:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַתִּקְרְב֥וּן וַתַּֽעַמְד֖וּן תַּ֣חַת הָהָ֑ר וְהָהָ֞ר בֹּעֵ֤ר בָּאֵשׁ֙ עַד ־לֵ֣ב הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם חֹ֖שֶׁךְ עָנָ֥ן וַעֲרָפֶֽל ׃
καὶ προσήλθετε καὶ ἔστητε ὑπὸ τὸ ὄρος καὶ τὸ ὄρος ἐκαίετο πυρὶ ἕως τοῦ οὐρανοῦ σκότος γνόφος θύελλα φωνὴ μεγάλη
Et accessistis ad radices montis , qui ardebat usque ad caelum : erantque in eo tenebrae , et nubes , et caligo .
ወመጻእክሙ ፡ ወቆምክሙ ፡ ታሕተ ፡ ደብር ፡ ወይነድድ ፡ ደብሩ ፡ በእሳት ፡ እስከ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ ወጽልመት ፡ ወዐውሎ ፡ ወጣቃ ።
You came near and stood under the mountain. The mountain burned with fire to the heart of the sky, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness.
4:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם מִתּ֣וֹךְ הָאֵ֑שׁ ק֤וֹל דְּבָרִים֙ אַתֶּ֣ם שֹׁמְעִ֔ים וּתְמוּנָ֛ה אֵינְכֶ֥ם רֹאִ֖ים זוּלָתִ֥י קֽוֹל ׃
καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός φωνὴν ῥημάτων ὑμεῖς ἠκούσατε καὶ ὁμοίωμα οὐκ εἴδετε ἀλλ’ ἢ φωνήν
Locutusque est Dominus ad vos de medio ignis . Vocem verborum ejus audistis , et formam penitus non vidistis .
ወነበበኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እምነ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ እሳት ፡ ወሰማዕክሙ ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ቃሎ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይትናገር ፡ ወርእየቶሰ ፡ ኢርኢክሙ ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ ቃሎ ።
Yahweh spoke to you out of the middle of the fire: you heard the voice of words, but you saw no form; you only heard a voice.
4:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּגֵּ֨ד לָכֶ֜ם אֶת ־בְּרִית֗וֹ אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֤ה אֶתְכֶם֙ לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת עֲשֶׂ֖רֶת הַדְּבָרִ֑ים וַֽיִּכְתְּבֵ֔ם עַל ־שְׁנֵ֖י לֻח֥וֹת אֲבָנִֽים ׃
καὶ ἀνήγγειλεν ὑμῖν τὴν διαθήκην αὐτοῦ ἣν ἐνετείλατο ὑμῖν ποιεῖν τὰ δέκα ῥήματα καὶ ἔγραψεν αὐτὰ ἐπὶ δύο πλάκας λιθίνας
Et ostendit vobis pactum suum , quod praecepit ut faceretis , et decem verba , quae scripsit in duabus tabulis lapideis .
ወአይድዐክሙ ፡ ኪዳኖ ፡ ዘአዘዘክሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትግበሩ ፡ ዐሥሩ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ወጸሐፎን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ክልኤቲ ፡ ጽላት ፡ ዘእብን ።
He declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even the ten commandments. He wrote them on two stone tablets.
4:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאֹתִ֞י צִוָּ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔וא לְלַמֵּ֣ד אֶתְכֶ֔ם חֻקִּ֖ים וּמִשְׁפָּטִ֑ים לַעֲשֹׂתְכֶ֣ם אֹתָ֔ם בָּאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתֶּ֛ם עֹבְרִ֥ים שָׁ֖מָּה לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ ׃
καὶ ἐμοὶ ἐνετείλατο κύριος ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ διδάξαι ὑμᾶς δικαιώματα καὶ κρίσεις ποιεῖν αὐτὰ ὑμᾶς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς εἰς ἣν ὑμεῖς εἰσπορεύεσθε ἐκεῖ κληρονομεῖν αὐτήν
Mihique mandavit in illo tempore ut docerem vos caeremonias et judicia , quae facere deberetis in terra , quam possessuri estis .
ወሊተኒ ፡ አዘዘኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ እምህርክሙ ፡ በውእቶን ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ኵነኔ ፡ ወፍትሐ ፡ ዘትገብሩ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ ትበውኡ ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ትትዋረስዋ ።
Yahweh commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and ordinances, that you might do them in the land where you go over to possess it.
4:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּ֥ם מְאֹ֖ד לְנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶ֑ם כִּ֣י לֹ֤א רְאִיתֶם֙ כׇּל ־תְּמוּנָ֔ה בְּי֗וֹם דִּבֶּ֨ר יְהֹוָ֧ה אֲלֵיכֶ֛ם בְּחֹרֵ֖ב מִתּ֥וֹךְ הָאֵֽשׁ ׃
καὶ φυλάξεσθε σφόδρα τὰς ψυχὰς ὑμῶν ὅτι οὐκ εἴδετε ὁμοίωμα ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν Χωρηβ ἐν τῷ ὄρει ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός
Custodite igitur sollicite animas vestras . Non vidistis aliquam similitudinem in die , qua locutus est vobis Dominus in Horeb de medio ignis :
ወዕቀቡ ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ነፍሰክሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢርኢክሙ ፡ ርእየቶ ፡ በይእቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ እንተ ፡ ባቲ ፡ ተናገረክሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በኮሬብ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ደብር ፡ እምነ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ እሳት ።
Be very careful, for you saw no kind of form on the day that Yahweh spoke to you in Horeb out of the middle of the fire,
4:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ פֶּ֨ן ־תַּשְׁחִת֔וּן וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֥ם לָכֶ֛ם פֶּ֖סֶל תְּמוּנַ֣ת כׇּל ־סָ֑מֶל תַּבְנִ֥ית זָכָ֖ר א֥וֹ נְקֵבָֽה ׃
μὴ ἀνομήσητε καὶ ποιήσητε ὑμῖν ἑαυτοῖς γλυπτὸν ὁμοίωμα πᾶσαν εἰκόνα ὁμοίωμα ἀρσενικοῦ ἢ θηλυκοῦ
ne forte decepti faciatis vobis sculptam similitudinem , aut imaginem masculi vel feminae :
ወኢትጌግዩ ፡ ወኢትግበሩ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ ግልፎ ፡ በአምሳለ ፡ ኵለ ፡ ምስል ፡ በአምሳለ ፡ ተባዕት ፡ አው ፡ ዘአንስት ፤
lest you corrupt yourselves, and make yourself a carved image in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,
4:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ תַּבְנִ֕ית כׇּל ־בְּהֵמָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּאָ֑רֶץ תַּבְנִית֙ כׇּל ־צִפּ֣וֹר כָּנָ֔ף אֲשֶׁ֥ר תָּע֖וּף בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם ׃
ὁμοίωμα παντὸς κτήνους τῶν ὄντων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὁμοίωμα παντὸς ὀρνέου πτερωτοῦ ὃ πέταται ὑπὸ τὸν οὐρανόν
similitudinem omnium jumentorum , quae sunt super terram , vel avium sub caelo volantium ,
በአምሳለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ እንስሳ ፡ ዘሀለወ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወበአምሳለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዖፍ ፡ ሠራሪት ፡ ዘይሠርር ፡ መትሕተ ፡ ሰማይ ፤
the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the sky,
4:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ תַּבְנִ֕ית כׇּל ־רֹמֵ֖שׂ בָּאֲדָמָ֑ה תַּבְנִ֛ית כׇּל ־דָּגָ֥ה אֲשֶׁר ־בַּמַּ֖יִם מִתַּ֥חַת לָאָֽרֶץ ׃
ὁμοίωμα παντὸς ἑρπετοῦ ὃ ἕρπει ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὁμοίωμα παντὸς ἰχθύος ὅσα ἐστὶν ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν ὑποκάτω τῆς γῆς
atque reptilium , quae moventur in terra , sive piscium qui sub terra morantur in aquis :
ወበአምሳለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕያው ፡ ዘይትኀወስ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወበአምሳለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዐሣ ፡ ዘሀለወ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ማይ ፡ መትሕተ ፡ ምድር ።
the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water under the earth;
4:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּפֶן ־תִּשָּׂ֨א עֵינֶ֜יךָ הַשָּׁמַ֗יְמָה וְֽ֠רָאִ֠יתָ אֶת ־הַשֶּׁ֨מֶשׁ וְאֶת ־הַיָּרֵ֜חַ וְאֶת ־הַכּֽוֹכָבִ֗ים כֹּ֚ל צְבָ֣א הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְנִדַּחְתָּ֛ וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִ֥יתָ לָהֶ֖ם וַעֲבַדְתָּ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר חָלַ֜ק יְהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ אֹתָ֔ם לְכֹל֙ הָֽעַמִּ֔ים תַּ֖חַת כׇּל ־הַשָּׁמָֽיִם ׃
καὶ μὴ ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἰδὼν τὸν ἥλιον καὶ τὴν σελήνην καὶ τοὺς ἀστέρας καὶ πάντα τὸν κόσμον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ πλανηθεὶς προσκυνήσῃς αὐτοῖς καὶ λατρεύσῃς αὐτοῖς ἃ ἀπένειμεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου αὐτὰ πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν τοῖς ὑποκάτω τοῦ οὐρανοῦ
ne forte elevatis oculis ad caelum , videas solem et lunam , et omnia astra caeli , et errore deceptus adores ea , et colas quae creavit Dominus Deus tuus in ministerium cunctis gentibus , quae sub caelo sunt .
ወለእመ ፡ ነጸርከ ፡ ሰማየ ፡ ወርኢከ ፡ ፀሐየ ፡ ወወርኀ ፡ ወከዋክብተ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ ሰርጓቲሃ ፡ ለሰማይ ፡ ዮጊ ፡ ትጌጊ ፡ ወትሰግድ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ወታመልኮሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ገብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ለኵሉ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ዘታሕተ ፡ ሰማይ ።
and lest you lift up your eyes to the sky, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the army of the sky, you are drawn away and worship them, and serve them, which Yahweh your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole sky.
4:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאֶתְכֶם֙ לָקַ֣ח יְהֹוָ֔ה וַיּוֹצִ֥א אֶתְכֶ֛ם מִכּ֥וּר הַבַּרְזֶ֖ל מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם לִהְי֥וֹת ל֛וֹ לְעַ֥ם נַחֲלָ֖ה כַּיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה ׃
ὑμᾶς δὲ ἔλαβεν ὁ θεὸς καὶ ἐξήγαγεν ὑμᾶς ἐκ τῆς καμίνου τῆς σιδηρᾶς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου εἶναι αὐτῷ λαὸν ἔγκληρον ὡς ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ
Vos autem tulit Dominus , et eduxit de fornace ferrea Aegypti , ut haberet populum haereditarium , sicut est in praesenti die .
ወኪያክሙሰ ፡ ነሥአክሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአውፅአክሙ ፡ እምነ ፡ እቶነ ፡ ኀፂን ፡ እምነ ፡ ግብጽ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትኩንዎ ፡ መክፈልተ ፡ ሕዝቡ ፡ እስከ ፡ ዛቲ ፡ ዕለት ።
But Yahweh has taken you, and brought you out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be to him a people of inheritance, as it is today.
4:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַֽיהֹוָ֥ה הִתְאַנַּף ־בִּ֖י עַל ־דִּבְרֵיכֶ֑ם וַיִּשָּׁבַ֗ע לְבִלְתִּ֤י עׇבְרִי֙ אֶת ־הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן וּלְבִלְתִּי ־בֹא֙ אֶל ־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַטּוֹבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֖ נַחֲלָֽה ׃
καὶ κύριος ἐθυμώθη μοι περὶ τῶν λεγομένων ὑφ’ ὑμῶν καὶ ὤμοσεν ἵνα μὴ διαβῶ τὸν Ιορδάνην τοῦτον καὶ ἵνα μὴ εἰσέλθω εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς δίδωσίν σοι ἐν κλήρῳ
Iratusque est Dominus contra me propter sermones vestros , et juravit ut non transirem Jordanem , nec ingrederer terram optimam , quam daturus est vobis .
ውተምዕዐኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በእንተ ፡ ዘትቤሉ ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ወመሐለ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይዕድዎ ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይባእ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ይሁበከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ርስተ ።
Furthermore Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, and swore that I should not go over the Jordan, and that I should not go in to that good land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance;
4:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י אָנֹכִ֥י מֵת֙ בָּאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את אֵינֶ֥נִּי עֹבֵ֖ר אֶת ־הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְאַתֶּם֙ עֹֽבְרִ֔ים וִֽירִשְׁתֶּ֕ם אֶת ־הָאָ֥רֶץ הַטּוֹבָ֖ה הַזֹּֽאת ׃
ἐγὼ γὰρ ἀποθνῄσκω ἐν τῇ γῇ ταύτῃ καὶ οὐ διαβαίνω τὸν Ιορδάνην τοῦτον ὑμεῖς δὲ διαβαίνετε καὶ κληρονομήσετε τὴν γῆν τὴν ἀγαθὴν ταύτην
Ecce morior in hac humo ; non transibo Jordanem : vos transibitis , et possidebitis terram egregiam .
እስመ ፡ አንሰ ፡ እመውት ፡ በዛቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወኢየዐድዎ ፡ ለዮርዳንስ ፡ ወአንትሙሰ ፡ ተዐድው ፡ ወትወርስዋ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ምድር ፡ ቡርክት ።
but I must die in this land. I must not go over the Jordan, but you shall go over and possess that good land.
4:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ הִשָּׁמְר֣וּ לָכֶ֗ם פֶּֽן ־תִּשְׁכְּחוּ֙ אֶת ־בְּרִ֤ית יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹ֣הֵיכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּרַ֖ת עִמָּכֶ֑ם וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֨ם לָכֶ֥ם פֶּ֙סֶל֙ תְּמ֣וּנַת כֹּ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוְּךָ֖ יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ ׃
προσέχετε ὑμεῖς μὴ ἐπιλάθησθε τὴν διαθήκην κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν ἣν διέθετο πρὸς ὑμᾶς καὶ ποιήσητε ὑμῖν ἑαυτοῖς γλυπτὸν ὁμοίωμα πάντων ὧν συνέταξεν κύριος ὁ θεός σου
Cave nequando obliviscaris pacti Domini Dei tui , quod pepigit tecum , et facias tibi sculptam similitudinem eorum , quae fieri Dominus prohibuit :
ወዑቁ ፡ እንከ ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ኢትርስዑ ፡ ኪዳኖ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ፡ ዘተካየደ ፡ ምስሌክሙ ፡ ወአበስክሙ ፡ ወገበርክሙ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ ግልፎ ፡ በአምሳለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘበእንቲአሁ ፡ ቀሠፈከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ።
Be careful, lest you forget the covenant of Yahweh your God, which he made with you, and make yourselves a carved image in the form of anything which Yahweh your God has forbidden you.
4:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֚י יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ אֵ֥שׁ אֹכְלָ֖ה ה֑וּא אֵ֖ל קַנָּֽא ׃ {פ}
ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου πῦρ καταναλίσκον ἐστίν θεὸς ζηλωτής
quia Dominus Deus tuus ignis consumens est , Deus aemulator .
እስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ እሳት ፡ እንተ ፡ ታኀልቅ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወአምላክ ፡ ቀናኢ ፡ ውእቱ ።
For Yahweh your God is a devouring fire, a jealous God.
4:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־תוֹלִ֤יד בָּנִים֙ וּבְנֵ֣י בָנִ֔ים וְנוֹשַׁנְתֶּ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְהִשְׁחַתֶּ֗ם וַעֲשִׂ֤יתֶם פֶּ֙סֶל֙ תְּמ֣וּנַת כֹּ֔ל וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֥ם הָרַ֛ע בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהֹוָה ־אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ לְהַכְעִיסֽוֹ ׃
ἐὰν δὲ γεννήσῃς υἱοὺς καὶ υἱοὺς τῶν υἱῶν σου καὶ χρονίσητε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀνομήσητε καὶ ποιήσητε γλυπτὸν ὁμοίωμα παντὸς καὶ ποιήσητε τὰ πονηρὰ ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν παροργίσαι αὐτόν
Si genueritis filios ac nepotes , et morati fueritis in terra , deceptique feceritis vobis aliquam similitudinem , patrantes malum coram Domino Deo vestro , ut eum ad iracundiam provocetis :
ለእመ ፡ ወለድከ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ ወአዋልደ ፡ ወደቂቀ ፡ ደቂቅከ ፡ ወጐንደይክሙ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወአበስክሙ ፡ ወገበርክሙ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ በአምሳለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ወገበርክሙ ፡ እኪተ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታምዕዕዎ ፤
When you father children and children’s children, and you have been long in the land, and then corrupt yourselves, and make a carved image in the form of anything, and do that which is evil in Yahweh your God’s sight to provoke him to anger,
4:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ הַעִידֹ֩תִי֩ בָכֶ֨ם הַיּ֜וֹם אֶת ־הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם וְאֶת ־הָאָ֗רֶץ כִּֽי ־אָבֹ֣ד תֹּאבֵדוּן֮ מַהֵר֒ מֵעַ֣ל הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתֶּ֜ם עֹבְרִ֧ים אֶת ־הַיַּרְדֵּ֛ן שָׁ֖מָּה לְרִשְׁתָּ֑הּ לֹֽא ־תַאֲרִיכֻ֤ן יָמִים֙ עָלֶ֔יהָ כִּ֥י הִשָּׁמֵ֖ד תִּשָּׁמֵדֽוּן ׃
διαμαρτύρομαι ὑμῖν σήμερον τόν τε οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν ὅτι ἀπωλείᾳ ἀπολεῖσθε ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς εἰς ἣν ὑμεῖς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ιορδάνην ἐκεῖ κληρονομῆσαι αὐτήν οὐχὶ πολυχρονιεῖτε ἡμέρας ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἀλλ’ ἢ ἐκτριβῇ ἐκτριβήσεσθε
testes invoco hodie caelum et terram , cito perituros vos esse de terra , quam transito Jordane possessuri estis : non habitabitis in ea longo tempore , sed delebit vos Dominus ,
ናሁ ፡ ኣሰምዕ ፡ ላዕሌክሙ ፡ ሰማየ ፡ ወምድረ ፡ [ከመ ፡] ትጠፍኡ ፡ ወትዶመሰሴ ፡ እምነ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ አንትሙ ፡ ተዐድውዎ ፡ ለዮርዳንስ ፡ ህየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትትዋረስዋ ፡ ወኢትጐነድዩ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ ውስቴታ ፡ አላ ፡ ተቀጥቅጦ ፡ ትትቀጠቀጡ ።
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will soon utterly perish from off the land which you go over the Jordan to possess it. You will not prolong your days on it, but will utterly be destroyed.
4:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהֵפִ֧יץ יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶתְכֶ֖ם בָּעַמִּ֑ים וְנִשְׁאַרְתֶּם֙ מְתֵ֣י מִסְפָּ֔ר בַּגּוֹיִ֕ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְנַהֵ֧ג יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶתְכֶ֖ם שָֽׁמָּה ׃
καὶ διασπερεῖ κύριος ὑμᾶς ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν καὶ καταλειφθήσεσθε ὀλίγοι ἀριθμῷ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εἰς οὓς εἰσάξει κύριος ὑμᾶς ἐκεῖ
atque disperget in omnes gentes , et remanebitis pauci in nationibus , ad quas vos ducturus est Dominus .
ወይዘርወክሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ወትተርፉ ፡ ውኁዳ [ነ ] ፡ በኍልቍ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ እለ ፡ ውስቴቶሙ ፡ ያበውአክሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ህየ ።
Yahweh will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where Yahweh will lead you away.
4:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַעֲבַדְתֶּם ־שָׁ֣ם אֱלֹהִ֔ים מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה יְדֵ֣י אָדָ֑ם עֵ֣ץ וָאֶ֔בֶן אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא ־יִרְאוּן֙ וְלֹ֣א יִשְׁמְע֔וּן וְלֹ֥א יֹֽאכְל֖וּן וְלֹ֥א יְרִיחֻֽן ׃
καὶ λατρεύσετε ἐκεῖ θεοῖς ἑτέροις ἔργοις χειρῶν ἀνθρώπων ξύλοις καὶ λίθοις οἳ οὐκ ὄψονται οὐδὲ μὴ ἀκούσωσιν οὔτε μὴ φάγωσιν οὔτε μὴ ὀσφρανθῶσιν
Ibique servietis diis , qui hominum manu fabricati sunt , ligno et lapidi qui non vident , nec audiunt , nec comedunt , nec odorantur .
ወታመልኩ ፡ በህየ ፡ አማልክተ ፡ ባዕድ ፡ ግብረ ፡ እደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ዕፀወ ፡ ወእበነ ፡ እለ ፡ ኢያሬእዩ ፡ ወኢይሰምዑ ፡ ወኢይበልዑ ፡ ወኢያጼንው ።
There you will serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
4:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּבִקַּשְׁתֶּ֥ם מִשָּׁ֛ם אֶת ־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ וּמָצָ֑אתָ כִּ֣י תִדְרְשֶׁ֔נּוּ בְּכׇל ־לְבָבְךָ֖ וּבְכׇל ־נַפְשֶֽׁךָ ׃
καὶ ζητήσετε ἐκεῖ κύριον τὸν θεὸν ὑμῶν καὶ εὑρήσετε ὅταν ἐκζητήσητε αὐτὸν ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας σου καὶ ἐξ ὅλης τῆς ψυχῆς σου ἐν τῇ θλίψει σου
Cumque quaesieris ibi Dominum Deum tuum , invenies eum : si tamen toto corde quaesieris , et tota tribulatione animae tuae .
ወእምዝ ፡ ተኀሥሥዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ፡ በህየ ፡ ወትረክብዎ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ኀሠሥክምዎ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ልብክሙ ፡ ወበኵሉ ፡ ነፍስክሙ ፡ በሕማምክሙ ።
But from there you shall seek Yahweh your God, and you will find him when you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.
4:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ בַּצַּ֣ר לְךָ֔ וּמְצָא֕וּךָ כֹּ֖ל הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה בְּאַחֲרִית֙ הַיָּמִ֔ים וְשַׁבְתָּ֙ עַד ־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֖ בְּקֹלֽוֹ ׃
καὶ εὑρήσουσίν σε πάντες οἱ λόγοι οὗτοι ἐπ’ ἐσχάτῳ τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ ἐπιστραφήσῃ πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεόν σου καὶ εἰσακούσῃ τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ
Postquam te invenerint omnia quae praedicta sunt , novissimo tempore reverteris ad Dominum Deum tuum , et audies vocem ejus .
ወይረክበክሙ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ነገር ፡ በደኃሪ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ወትትመየጡ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክክሙ ፡ ወይሰምዐክሙ ።
When you are in oppression, and all these things have come on you, in the latter days you shall return to Yahweh your God and listen to his voice.
4:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י אֵ֤ל רַחוּם֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ לֹ֥א יַרְפְּךָ֖ וְלֹ֣א יַשְׁחִיתֶ֑ךָ וְלֹ֤א יִשְׁכַּח֙ אֶת ־בְּרִ֣ית אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבַּ֖ע לָהֶֽם ׃
ὅτι θεὸς οἰκτίρμων κύριος ὁ θεός σου οὐκ ἐγκαταλείψει σε οὐδὲ μὴ ἐκτρίψει σε οὐκ ἐπιλήσεται τὴν διαθήκην τῶν πατέρων σου ἣν ὤμοσεν αὐτοῖς
Quia Deus misericors Dominus Deus tuus est : non dimittet te , nec omnino delebit , neque obliviscetur pacti , in quo juravit patribus tuis .
እስመ ፡ አምላክ ፡ መሓሪ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ኢየኀድገከ ፡ ወኢያጠፍአከ ፡ ወኢይረስዕ ፡ ኪዳኖሙ ፡ ለአበዊከ ፡ ዘመሐለ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
For Yahweh your God is a merciful God. He will not fail you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them.
4:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י שְׁאַל ־נָא֩ לְיָמִ֨ים רִֽאשֹׁנִ֜ים אֲשֶׁר ־הָי֣וּ לְפָנֶ֗יךָ לְמִן ־הַיּוֹם֙ אֲשֶׁר֩ בָּרָ֨א אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀אָדָם֙ עַל ־הָאָ֔רֶץ וּלְמִקְצֵ֥ה הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְעַד ־קְצֵ֣ה הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם הֲנִֽהְיָ֗ה כַּדָּבָ֤ר הַגָּדוֹל֙ הַזֶּ֔ה א֖וֹ הֲנִשְׁמַ֥ע כָּמֹֽהוּ ׃
ἐπερωτήσατε ἡμέρας προτέρας τὰς γενομένας προτέρας σου ἀπὸ τῆς ἡμέρας ἧς ἔκτισεν ὁ θεὸς ἄνθρωπον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ ἄκρον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἕως ἄκρου τοῦ οὐρανοῦ εἰ γέγονεν κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα τὸ μέγα τοῦτο εἰ ἤκουσται τοιοῦτο
Interroga de diebus antiquis , qui fuerunt ante te ex die quo creavit Deus hominem super terram , a summo caelo usque ad summum ejus , si facta est aliquando hujuscemodi res , aut umquam cognitum est ,
ተሰአሉ ፡ ዘቀዲሙ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ ዘኮነ ፡ እምቅድሜከ ፡ እምአመ ፡ ፈጠሮ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለእጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ዲበ ፡ ምድር ፡ እምጽንፈ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ እስከ ፡ ጽንፈ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ኮነ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ነገር ፡ ወለእመ ፡ ኮነ ፡ ከመዝ ፤
For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and from the one end of the sky to the other, whether there has been anything as great as this thing is, or has been heard like it?
4:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ הֲשָׁ֣מַֽע עָם֩ ק֨וֹל אֱלֹהִ֜ים מְדַבֵּ֧ר מִתּוֹךְ ־הָאֵ֛שׁ כַּאֲשֶׁר ־שָׁמַ֥עְתָּ אַתָּ֖ה וַיֶּֽחִי ׃
εἰ ἀκήκοεν ἔθνος φωνὴν θεοῦ ζῶντος λαλοῦντος ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός ὃν τρόπον ἀκήκοας σὺ καὶ ἔζησας
ut audiret populus vocem Dei loquentis de medio ignis , sicut tu audisti , et vixisti :
ወለእመ ፡ ሰምዐ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክ ፡ ዘሕያው ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይትናገር ፡ እምነ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ እሳት ፡ በከመ ፡ ሰማዕከ ፡ አንተ ፡ ወሐየውከ ፤
Did a people ever hear the voice of God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as you have heard, and live?
4:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ א֣וֹ ׀ הֲנִסָּ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֗ים לָ֠ב֠וֹא לָקַ֨חַת ל֣וֹ גוֹי֮ מִקֶּ֣רֶב גּוֹי֒ בְּמַסֹּת֩ בְּאֹתֹ֨ת וּבְמוֹפְתִ֜ים וּבְמִלְחָמָ֗ה וּבְיָ֤ד חֲזָקָה֙ וּבִזְר֣וֹעַ נְטוּיָ֔ה וּבְמוֹרָאִ֖ים גְּדֹלִ֑ים כְּ֠כֹ֠ל אֲשֶׁר ־עָשָׂ֨ה לָכֶ֜ם יְהֹוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֛ם בְּמִצְרַ֖יִם לְעֵינֶֽיךָ ׃
εἰ ἐπείρασεν ὁ θεὸς εἰσελθὼν λαβεῖν ἑαυτῷ ἔθνος ἐκ μέσου ἔθνους ἐν πειρασμῷ καὶ ἐν σημείοις καὶ ἐν τέρασιν καὶ ἐν πολέμῳ καὶ ἐν χειρὶ κραταιᾷ καὶ ἐν βραχίονι ὑψηλῷ καὶ ἐν ὁράμασιν μεγάλοις κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ ἐνώπιόν σου βλέποντος
si fecit Deus ut ingrederetur , et tolleret sibi gentem de medio nationum , per tentationes , signa atque portenta , per pugnam et robustam manum , extentumque brachium , et horribiles visiones juxta omnia quae fecit pro vobis Dominus Deus vester in Aegypto , videntibus oculis tuis :
ለእመ ፡ አመከረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወቦአ ፡ ወነሥአ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ እምነ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ በአመክሮ ፡ ወበተአምር ፡ ወበመድምም ፡ ወበቀትል ፡ ወበእድ ፡ ጽንዕት ፡ ወበመዝራዕት ፡ ልዑል ፡ ወበመደንግፅ ፡ ዐበይት ፡ በከመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በምድረ ፡ ግብጽ ፡ በቅድሜከ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ትሬኢ ፤
Or has God tried to go and take a nation for himself from among another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, by war, by a mighty hand, by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Yahweh your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
4:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ אַתָּה֙ הׇרְאֵ֣תָ לָדַ֔עַת כִּ֥י יְהֹוָ֖ה ה֣וּא הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים אֵ֥ין ע֖וֹד מִלְּבַדּֽוֹ ׃
ὥστε εἰδῆσαί σε ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου οὗτος θεός ἐστιν καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι πλὴν αὐτοῦ
ut scires quoniam Dominus ipse est Deus , et non est alius praeter eum .
ከመ ፡ ታእምር ፡ ከመ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ባዕደ ፡ እንበሌሁ ።
It was shown to you so that you might know that Yahweh is God. There is no one else besides him.
4:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ מִן ־הַשָּׁמַ֛יִם הִשְׁמִֽיעֲךָ֥ אֶת ־קֹל֖וֹ לְיַסְּרֶ֑ךָּ וְעַל ־הָאָ֗רֶץ הֶרְאֲךָ֙ אֶת ־אִשּׁ֣וֹ הַגְּדוֹלָ֔ה וּדְבָרָ֥יו שָׁמַ֖עְתָּ מִתּ֥וֹךְ הָאֵֽשׁ ׃
ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἀκουστὴ ἐγένετο ἡ φωνὴ αὐτοῦ παιδεῦσαί σε καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἔδειξέν σοι τὸ πῦρ αὐτοῦ τὸ μέγα καὶ τὰ ῥήματα αὐτοῦ ἤκουσας ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρός
De caelo te fecit audire vocem suam , ut doceret te , et in terra ostendit tibi ignem suum maximum , et audisti verba illius de medio ignis :
እምሰማይ ፡ ተሰምዐ ፡ ቃሉ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይማህርከ ፡ ወበምድር ፡ አርአየ ፡ እሳቶ ፡ ዐባየ ፡ ወሰማዕከ ፡ ቃሎ ፡ እምነ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ እሳት ።
Out of heaven he made you to hear his voice, that he might instruct you. On earth he made you to see his great fire; and you heard his words out of the middle of the fire.
4:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְתַ֗חַת כִּ֤י אָהַב֙ אֶת ־אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ וַיִּבְחַ֥ר בְּזַרְע֖וֹ אַחֲרָ֑יו וַיּוֹצִֽאֲךָ֧ בְּפָנָ֛יו בְּכֹח֥וֹ הַגָּדֹ֖ל מִמִּצְרָֽיִם ׃
διὰ τὸ ἀγαπῆσαι αὐτὸν τοὺς πατέρας σου καὶ ἐξελέξατο τὸ σπέρμα αὐτῶν μετ’ αὐτοὺς ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐξήγαγέν σε αὐτὸς ἐν τῇ ἰσχύι αὐτοῦ τῇ μεγάλῃ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου
quia dilexit patres tuos , et elegit semen eorum post eos . Eduxitque te praecedens in virtute sua magna ex Aegypto ,
እስመ ፡ ያፈቅሮሙ ፡ ለአበዊከ ፡ ወኀርዮሙ ፡ ለዘርኦሙ ፡ እምድኅሬሆሙ ፡ ኪያክሙ ፡ እምኵሉ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ወአውፅአከ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ በኀይሉ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ እምነ ፡ ግብጽ ፤
Because he loved your fathers, therefore he chose their offspring after them, and brought you out with his presence, with his great power, out of Egypt;
4:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ לְהוֹרִ֗ישׁ גּוֹיִ֛ם גְּדֹלִ֧ים וַעֲצֻמִ֛ים מִמְּךָ֖ מִפָּנֶ֑יךָ לַהֲבִֽיאֲךָ֗ לָֽתֶת ־לְךָ֧ אֶת ־אַרְצָ֛ם נַחֲלָ֖ה כַּיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה ׃
ἐξολεθρεῦσαι ἔθνη μεγάλα καὶ ἰσχυρότερά σου πρὸ προσώπου σου εἰσαγαγεῖν σε δοῦναί σοι τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν κληρονομεῖν καθὼς ἔχεις σήμερον
ut deleret nationes maximas et fortiores te in introitu tuo : et introduceret te , daretque tibi terram earum in possessionem , sicut cernis in praesenti die .
ከመ ፡ ያጥፍኦሙ ፡ ለአሕዛብ ፡ ዐበይት ፡ ወጽኑዓን ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ገጽከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያብእከ ፡ ወየሀብከ ፡ ምድሮሙ ፡ ትረሳ ፡ በከመ ፡ ሀለውከ ፡ ዮም ።
to drive out nations from before you greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land for an inheritance, as it is today.
4:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיָדַעְתָּ֣ הַיּ֗וֹם וַהֲשֵׁבֹתָ֮ אֶל ־לְבָבֶ֒ךָ֒ כִּ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ ה֣וּא הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים בַּשָּׁמַ֣יִם מִמַּ֔עַל וְעַל ־הָאָ֖רֶץ מִתָּ֑חַת אֵ֖ין עֽוֹד ׃
καὶ γνώσῃ σήμερον καὶ ἐπιστραφήσῃ τῇ διανοίᾳ ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεός σου οὗτος θεὸς ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ ἄνω καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς κάτω καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι πλὴν αὐτοῦ
Scito ergo hodie , et cogitato in corde tuo quod Dominus ipse sit Deus in caelo sursum , et in terra deorsum , et non sit alius .
ወታአምር ፡ ዮም ፡ ከመ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በሰማይ ፡ በላዕሉ ፡ ወበምድር ፡ በታሕቱ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ባዕደ ፡ እንበሌሁ ።
Know therefore today, and take it to heart, that Yahweh himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath. There is no one else.
4:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֞ אֶת ־חֻקָּ֣יו וְאֶת ־מִצְוֺתָ֗יו אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָנֹכִ֤י מְצַוְּךָ֙ הַיּ֔וֹם אֲשֶׁר֙ יִיטַ֣ב לְךָ֔ וּלְבָנֶ֖יךָ אַחֲרֶ֑יךָ וּלְמַ֨עַן תַּאֲרִ֤יךְ יָמִים֙ עַל ־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְהֹוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֖ כׇּל ־הַיָּמִֽים ׃ {פ}
καὶ φυλάξῃ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ ὅσας ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον ἵνα εὖ σοι γένηται καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς σου μετὰ σέ ὅπως μακροήμεροι γένησθε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἧς κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας
Custodi praecepta ejus atque mandata , quae ego praecipio tibi : ut bene sit tibi , et filiis tuis post te , et permaneas multo tempore super terram , quam Dominus Deus tuus daturus est tibi .
ወዕቀቡ ፡ ኵነኔሁ ፡ ወትእዛዞ ፡ ዘእኤዝዘክሙ ፡ አነ ፡ ዮም ፡ ከመ ፡ ሠናይ ፡ ይኩንክሙ ፡ ወለውሉድክሙሂ ፡ እምድኅሬክሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይኑኅ ፡ መዋዕሊክሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ይሁበከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕል ።
You shall keep his statutes and his commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for all time.
4:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ אָ֣ז יַבְדִּ֤יל מֹשֶׁה֙ שָׁלֹ֣שׁ עָרִ֔ים בְּעֵ֖בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן מִזְרְחָ֖ה שָֽׁמֶשׁ ׃
τότε ἀφώρισεν Μωυσῆς τρεῖς πόλεις πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου
Tunc separavit Moyses tres civitates trans Jordanem ad orientalem plagam ,
ወይእተ ፡ አሚረ ፡ ፈለጠ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ሠላሰ ፡ አህጉረ ፡ በማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ በመንገለ ፡ ሠረቀ ፡ ፀሐይ ፤
Then Moses set apart three cities beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise,
4:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָנֻ֨ס שָׁ֜מָּה רוֹצֵ֗חַ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִרְצַ֤ח אֶת ־רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ בִּבְלִי ־דַ֔עַת וְה֛וּא לֹא ־שֹׂנֵ֥א ל֖וֹ מִתְּמֹ֣ל שִׁלְשֹׁ֑ם וְנָ֗ס אֶל ־אַחַ֛ת מִן ־הֶעָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖ל וָחָֽי ׃
φυγεῖν ἐκεῖ τὸν φονευτήν ὃς ἂν φονεύσῃ τὸν πλησίον οὐκ εἰδὼς καὶ οὗτος οὐ μισῶν αὐτὸν πρὸ τῆς ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτης καὶ καταφεύξεται εἰς μίαν τῶν πόλεων τούτων καὶ ζήσεται
ut confugiat ad eas qui occiderit nolens proximum suum , nec sibi fuerit inimicus ante unum et alterum diem , et ad harum aliquam urbium possit evadere :
ከመ ፡ ይስኪ ፡ ህየ ፡ ቀታሊ ፡ ዘቀተለ ፡ ካልኦ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ኢያአምር ፡ ወኢኮነ ፡ ጸላኢሁ ፡ ትካት ፡ ወይስኪ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አሐቲ ፡ እምእላንቱ ፡ አህጉር ፡ ወየሐዩ ፤
that the man slayer might flee there, who kills his neighbor unintentionally and didn’t hate him in time past, and that fleeing to one of these cities he might live:
4:43 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֶת ־בֶּ֧צֶר בַּמִּדְבָּ֛ר בְּאֶ֥רֶץ הַמִּישֹׁ֖ר לָרֽאוּבֵנִ֑י וְאֶת ־רָאמֹ֤ת בַּגִּלְעָד֙ לַגָּדִ֔י וְאֶת ־גּוֹלָ֥ן בַּבָּשָׁ֖ן לַֽמְנַשִּֽׁי ׃
τὴν Βοσορ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἐν τῇ γῇ τῇ πεδινῇ τῷ Ρουβην καὶ τὴν Ραμωθ ἐν Γαλααδ τῷ Γαδδι καὶ τὴν Γαυλων ἐν Βασαν τῷ Μανασση
Bosor in solitudine , quae sita est in terra campestri de tribu Ruben : et Ramoth in Galaad , quae est in tribu Gad : et Golan in Basan , quae est in tribu Manasse .
ቦሶር ፡ በውስተ ፡ ገዳም ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ሐቅል ፡ ለሮቤል ፡ ወራሞት ፡ በገላአድ ፡ ለጋድ ፡ ወአውሎን ፡ በባሳን ፡ ለምናሴ ።
Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, for the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead for the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan for the Manassites.
4:44 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְזֹ֖את הַתּוֹרָ֑ה אֲשֶׁר ־שָׂ֣ם מֹשֶׁ֔ה לִפְנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
οὗτος ὁ νόμος ὃν παρέθετο Μωυσῆς ἐνώπιον υἱῶν Ισραηλ
Ista est lex , quam proposuit Moyses coram filiis Israël :
ዝንቱ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሕግ ፡ ዘአዘዞሙ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ በቅድሜሆሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ።
This is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel.
4:45 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֵ֚לֶּה הָֽעֵדֹ֔ת וְהַֽחֻקִּ֖ים וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֑ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֤ר מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל ־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּצֵאתָ֖ם מִמִּצְרָֽיִם ׃
ταῦτα τὰ μαρτύρια καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα ὅσα ἐλάλησεν Μωυσῆς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ἐξελθόντων αὐτῶν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου
et haec testimonia et caeremoniae atque judicia , quae locutus est ad filios Israël , quando egressi sunt de Aegypto ,
ወዝንቱ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ትእዛዝ ፡ ወኵነኔ ፡ ወፍትሕ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘነገሮሙ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ በገዳም ፡ ወፂኦሙ ፡ እምነ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ግብጽ ፤
These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances which Moses spoke to the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt,
4:46 ⧉ ⤴︎ בְּעֵ֨בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֜ן בַּגַּ֗יְא מ֚וּל בֵּ֣ית פְּע֔וֹר בְּאֶ֗רֶץ סִיחֹן֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר יוֹשֵׁ֖ב בְּחֶשְׁבּ֑וֹן אֲשֶׁ֨ר הִכָּ֤ה מֹשֶׁה֙ וּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּצֵאתָ֖ם מִמִּצְרָֽיִם ׃
ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἐν φάραγγι ἐγγὺς οἴκου Φογωρ ἐν γῇ Σηων βασιλέως τῶν Αμορραίων ὃς κατῴκει ἐν Εσεβων οὓς ἐπάταξεν Μωυσῆς καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ ἐξελθόντων αὐτῶν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου
trans Jordanem in valle contra fanum Phogor in terra Sehon regis Amorrhaei , qui habitavit in Hesebon , quem percussit Moyses . Filii quoque Israël egressi ex Aegypto
በማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ በቈላት ፡ ዘቅሩበ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ፌጎር ፡ በምድረ ፡ ሴዎን ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ አሞሬዎን ፡ ዘይነብር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሔሴቦን ፡ ዘቀተለ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ወደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወፂኦሙ ፡ እምነ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ግብጽ ።
beyond the Jordan, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel struck when they came out of Egypt.
4:47 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּֽירְשׁ֨וּ אֶת ־אַרְצ֜וֹ וְאֶת ־אֶ֣רֶץ ׀ ע֣וֹג מֶֽלֶךְ ־הַבָּשָׁ֗ן שְׁנֵי֙ מַלְכֵ֣י הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּעֵ֣בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן מִזְרַ֖ח שָֽׁמֶשׁ ׃
καὶ ἐκληρονόμησαν τὴν γῆν αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν γῆν Ωγ βασιλέως τῆς Βασαν δύο βασιλέων τῶν Αμορραίων οἳ ἦσαν πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου κατ’ ἀνατολὰς ἡλίου
possederunt terram ejus , et terram Og regis Basan , duorum regum Amorrhaeorum , qui erant trans Jordanem ad solis ortum :
ወተወርሱ ፡ ምድሮ ፡ ወምድረ ፡ አግሂ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ባሳን ፡ ክልኤቱ ፡ ነገሥተ ፡ አሞሬዎን ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ መንገለ ፡ ሠረቀ ፡ ፀሐይ ፤
They took possession of his land and the land of Og king of Bashan, the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise;
4:48 ⧉ ⤴︎ מֵעֲרֹעֵ֞ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר עַל ־שְׂפַת ־נַ֧חַל אַרְנֹ֛ן וְעַד ־הַ֥ר שִׂיאֹ֖ן ה֥וּא חֶרְמֽוֹן ׃
ἀπὸ Αροηρ ἥ ἐστιν ἐπὶ τοῦ χείλους χειμάρρου Αρνων καὶ ἐπὶ τοῦ ὄρους τοῦ Σηων ὅ ἐστιν Αερμων
ab Aroër , quae sita est super ripam torrentis Arnon , usque ad montem Sion , qui est et Hermon ,
እምአሮኤር ፡ እንተ ፡ ማዕዶተ ፡ ፈለገ ፡ አርኖን ፡ እስከ ፡ ደብረ ፡ ሴዎን ፡ ዘኤርሞን ፤
from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, even to Mount Siyon (also called Hermon),
4:49 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְכׇל ־הָ֨עֲרָבָ֜ה עֵ֤בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ מִזְרָ֔חָה וְעַ֖ד יָ֣ם הָעֲרָבָ֑ה תַּ֖חַת אַשְׁדֹּ֥ת הַפִּסְגָּֽה ׃ {פ}
πᾶσαν τὴν Αραβα πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου κατ’ ἀνατολὰς ἡλίου ὑπὸ Ασηδωθ τὴν λαξευτήν
omnem planitiem trans Jordanem ad orientalem plagam , usque ad mare solitudinis , et usque ad radices montis Phasga .
ኵሉ ፡ አራባ ፡ ዘማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ዘመንገለ ፡ ምሥራቀ ፡ ፀሐይ ፡ ዘመትሕተ ፡ አሴዶን ፡ ዘቦ ፡ መንደቀ ።
and all the Arabah beyond the Jordan eastward, even to the sea of the Arabah, under the slopes of Pisgah.
