9:1
וַיִּקְרָ֣א בְאׇזְנַ֗י ק֤וֹל גָּדוֹל֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר קָרְב֖וּ פְּקֻדּ֣וֹת הָעִ֑יר וְאִ֛ישׁ כְּלִ֥י מַשְׁחֵת֖וֹ בְּיָדֽוֹ׃
καὶ ἀνέκραγεν εἰς τὰ ὦτά μου φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγων ἤγγικεν ἡ ἐκδίκησις τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἕκαστος εἶχεν τὰ σκεύη τῆς ἐξολεθρεύσεως ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ
Et clamavit in auribus meis voce magna, dicens : Appropinquaverunt visitationes urbis, et unusquisque vas interfectionis habet in manu sua.
ወከልሐ፡ ውስተ፡ እዝንየ፡ በዓቢይ፡ ቃል፡ ወይቤ፡ አልጸቀ፡ መቅሠፍታ፡ ለዛቲ፡ ሀገር። ወኵሉ፡ ለለ፩፡ በንዋየ፡ ሐቅል፡ ዘያሐጕሉ፡ ባቲ።
Then he cried in my ears with a loud voice, saying, “Cause those who are in charge of the city to draw near, each man with his destroying weapon in his hand.”
9:2
וְהִנֵּ֣ה שִׁשָּׁ֣ה אֲנָשִׁ֡ים בָּאִ֣ים׀ מִדֶּרֶךְ־שַׁ֨עַר הָעֶלְי֜וֹן אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ מׇפְנֶ֣ה צָפ֗וֹנָה וְאִ֨ישׁ כְּלִ֤י מַפָּצוֹ֙ בְּיָד֔וֹ וְאִישׁ־אֶחָ֤ד בְּתוֹכָם֙ לָבֻ֣שׁ בַּדִּ֔ים וְקֶ֥סֶת הַסֹּפֵ֖ר בְּמׇתְנָ֑יו וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ וַיַּ֣עַמְד֔וּ אֵ֖צֶל מִזְבַּ֥ח הַנְּחֹֽשֶׁת׃
καὶ ἰδοὺ ἓξ ἄνδρες ἤρχοντο ἀπὸ τῆς ὁδοῦ τῆς πύλης τῆς ὑψηλῆς τῆς βλεπούσης πρὸς βορρᾶν καὶ ἑκάστου πέλυξ ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ εἷς ἀνὴρ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν ἐνδεδυκὼς ποδήρη καὶ ζώνη σαπφείρου ἐπὶ τῆς ὀσφύος αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰσήλθοσαν καὶ ἔστησαν ἐχόμενοι τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου τοῦ χαλκοῦ
Et ecce sex viri veniebant de via portae superioris, quae respicit ad aquilonem, et uniuscujusque vas interitus in manu ejus : vir quoque unus in medio eorum vestitus erat lineis, et atramentarium scriptoris ad renes ejus : et ingressi sunt, et steterunt juxta altare aereum.
ወናሁ፡ መጽኡ፡ ፮ዕደው፡ እምፍኖተ፡ አንቀጽ፡ ልዕልት፡ ዘይኔጽር፡ ሰሜነ፡ ወኵሎሙ፡ ጕድብ፡ ውስተ፡ እደዊሆሙ። ወ፩፡ ብእሲ፡ ይቀውም፡ ማእከሎሙ፡ ዘይለብስ፡ ጶዴረ፡ ወቅናተ፡ ሰንፔር፡ ውስተ፡ ሐቌሁ፡ ወቦኡ፡ ወቆሙ፡ ኀበ፡ ምሥዋዕ፡ ዘብርት።
Behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lies toward the north, every man with his slaughter weapon in his hand. One man in the middle of them was clothed in linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side. They went in, and stood beside the bronze altar.
9:3
וּכְב֣וֹד׀ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל נַֽעֲלָה֙ מֵעַ֤ל הַכְּרוּב֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיָ֣ה עָלָ֔יו אֶ֖ל מִפְתַּ֣ן הַבָּ֑יִת וַיִּקְרָ֗א אֶל־הָאִישׁ֙ הַלָּבֻ֣שׁ הַבַּדִּ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֛ר קֶ֥סֶת הַסֹּפֵ֖ר בְּמׇתְנָֽיו׃ {פ}
καὶ δόξα θεοῦ τοῦ Ισραηλ ἀνέβη ἀπὸ τῶν χερουβιν ἡ οὖσα ἐπ’ αὐτῶν εἰς τὸ αἴθριον τοῦ οἴκου καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν ἄνδρα τὸν ἐνδεδυκότα τὸν ποδήρη ὃς εἶχεν ἐπὶ τῆς ὀσφύος αὐτοῦ τὴν ζώνην
Et gloria Domini Israël assumpta est de cherub, quae erat super eum ad limen domus : et vocavit virum qui indutus erat lineis, et atramentarium scriptoris habebat in lumbis suis :
ወዐርገ፡ ስብሐተ፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል፡ እምኪሩብ፡ ወቦአ፡ ቤተ። ወጸውዖ፡ ለብእሲ፡ ዘይለብስ፡ ጶዴረ፡ ዘቦ፡ ቅናተ፡ ሰነፔር፡ ውስተ፡ ሐቌሁ።
The glory of the God of Israel went up from the cherub, whereupon it was, to the threshold of the house; and he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn by his side.
9:4
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ אֵלָ֔ו עֲבֹר֙ בְּת֣וֹךְ הָעִ֔יר בְּת֖וֹךְ יְרוּשָׁלָ֑͏ִם וְהִתְוִ֨יתָ תָּ֜ו עַל־מִצְח֣וֹת הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים הַנֶּֽאֱנָחִים֙ וְהַנֶּ֣אֱנָקִ֔ים עַ֚ל כׇּל־הַתּ֣וֹעֵב֔וֹת הַֽנַּעֲשׂ֖וֹת בְּתוֹכָֽהּ׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν δίελθε μέσην τὴν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ δὸς τὸ σημεῖον ἐπὶ τὰ μέτωπα τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν καταστεναζόντων καὶ τῶν κατωδυνωμένων ἐπὶ πάσαις ταῖς ἀνομίαις ταῖς γινομέναις ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς
et dixit Dominus ad eum : Transi per mediam civitatem, in medio Jerusalem, et signa thau super frontes virorum gementium et dolentium super cunctis abominationibus quae fiunt in medio ejus.
ወይቤሎ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ባእ፡ ማእከለ፡ ሀገር፡ ማእከለ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወጸሐፍ፡ ሔትዮተ፡ ውስተ፡ ፍጽሞሙ፡ ለዕደው፡ እለ፡ ንህኩ፡ ወተከዙ፡ በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ኵሉ፡ ኃጢአተ፡ ዘኮነ፡ በማእከሎሙ።
Yahweh said to him, “Go through the middle of the city, through the middle of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry over all the abominations that are done within it.”
9:5
וּלְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ אָמַ֣ר בְּאׇזְנַ֔י עִבְר֥וּ בָעִ֛יר אַחֲרָ֖יו וְהַכּ֑וּ (על) [אַל־]תָּחֹ֥ס (עיניכם) [עֵינְכֶ֖ם] וְאַל־תַּחְמֹֽלוּ׃
καὶ τούτοις εἶπεν ἀκούοντός μου πορεύεσθε ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν πόλιν καὶ κόπτετε καὶ μὴ φείδεσθε τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς ὑμῶν καὶ μὴ ἐλεήσητε
Et illis dixit, audiente me : Transite per civitatem sequentes eum, et percutite : non parcat oculus vester, neque misereamini :
ወይቤሎሙ፡ ለእሉ፡ እንዘ፡ እሰምዕ፡ ባኡ፡ ውስተ፡ ሀገር፡ ድኅሬሁ፡ ወግዝሙ፡ ወኢትምሐክ፡ ዐይንክሙ። ወኢትምሐኩ።
To the others he said in my hearing, “Go through the city after him, and strike. Don’t let your eye spare, neither have pity.
9:6
זָקֵ֡ן בָּח֣וּר וּבְתוּלָה֩ וְטַ֨ף וְנָשִׁ֜ים תַּהַרְג֣וּ לְמַשְׁחִ֗ית וְעַל־כׇּל־אִ֨ישׁ אֲשֶׁר־עָלָ֤יו הַתָּו֙ אַל־תִּגַּ֔שׁוּ וּמִמִּקְדָּשִׁ֖י תָּחֵ֑לּוּ וַיָּחֵ֙לּוּ֙ בָּאֲנָשִׁ֣ים הַזְּקֵנִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֖ר לִפְנֵ֥י הַבָּֽיִת׃
πρεσβύτερον καὶ νεανίσκον καὶ παρθένον καὶ νήπια καὶ γυναῖκας ἀποκτείνατε εἰς ἐξάλειψιν ἐπὶ δὲ πάντας ἐφ’ οὕς ἐστιν τὸ σημεῖον μὴ ἐγγίσητε καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁγίων μου ἄρξασθε καὶ ἤρξαντο ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν πρεσβυτέρων οἳ ἦσαν ἔσω ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ
senem, adolescentulum et virginem, parvulum et mulieres interficite usque ad internecionem : omnem autem super quem videritis thau, ne occidatis : et a sanctuario meo incipite. Coeperunt ergo a viris senioribus, qui erant ante faciem domus.
ልሂቀ፡ ወወሬዛ፡ ድንግለ፡ ወሕፃናተ፡ ወአንስተ፡ ቅትሉ፡ ወደምስሱ። ወለኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ቦሙ፡ ሔትዮት፡ ኢትቅረብዎሙ፡ ወቅድሙ፡ እምቅዱሳንየ፡ ወቅድሙ፡ እምረበናትየ፡ እለ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤትየ።
Kill utterly the old man, the young man, the virgin, little children and women; but don’t come near any man on whom is the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” Then they began at the old men who were before the house.
9:7
וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם טַמְּא֣וּ אֶת־הַבַּ֗יִת וּמַלְא֧וּ אֶת־הַחֲצֵר֛וֹת חֲלָלִ֖ים צֵ֑אוּ וְיָצְא֖וּ וְהִכּ֥וּ בָעִֽיר׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς μιάνατε τὸν οἶκον καὶ πλήσατε τὰς ὁδοὺς νεκρῶν ἐκπορευόμενοι καὶ κόπτετε
Et dixit ad eos : Contaminate domum, et implete atria interfectis ; egredimini. Et egressi sunt, et percutiebant eos qui erant in civitate.
ወይቤሎሙ፡ አርኵስዎ፡ ለዝ፡ ቤት፡ ወምልኡ፡ ውስተ፡ ፍኖት፡ ቅቱላነ፡ እንዘ፡ ትወፅኡ፡ ግዝሙ።
He said to them, “Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out!” They went out, and struck in the city.
9:8
וַֽיְהִי֙ כְּהַכּוֹתָ֔ם וְנֵֽאשְׁאַ֖ר אָ֑נִי וָאֶפְּלָ֨ה עַל־פָּנַ֜י וָאֶזְעַ֗ק וָֽאֹמַר֙ אֲהָהּ֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יֱהֹוִ֔ה הֲמַשְׁחִ֣ית אַתָּ֗ה אֵ֚ת כׇּל־שְׁאֵרִ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּשׇׁפְכְּךָ֥ אֶת־חֲמָתְךָ֖ עַל־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ κόπτειν αὐτοὺς καὶ πίπτω ἐπὶ πρόσωπόν μου καὶ ἀνεβόησα καὶ εἶπα οἴμμοι κύριε ἐξαλείφεις σὺ τοὺς καταλοίπους τοῦ Ισραηλ ἐν τῷ ἐκχέαι σε τὸν θυμόν σου ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ
Et caede completa, remansi ego, ruique super faciem meam, et clamans aio : Heu ! heu ! heu ! Domine Deus : ergone disperdes omnes reliquias Israël, effundens furorem tuum super Jerusalem ?
ወሶበ፡ ገዘሙ፡ ወደቁ፡ በገጽየ፡ ወአውየውኩ፡ ወእቤ፡ አሌ፡ ሊተ፡ አዶናይ፡ እግዚአብሔር፣፡ ታጠፍኦሙኑ፡ ለእለ፡ ተርፉ፡ እስራኤል፡ ዘከዐውከ፡ መዐተከ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም።
While they were killing, and I was left, I fell on my face, and cried, and said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! Will you destroy all the residue of Israel in your pouring out of your wrath on Jerusalem?”
9:9
וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֗י עֲוֺ֨ן בֵּֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל וִֽיהוּדָה֙ גָּדוֹל֙ בִּמְאֹ֣ד מְאֹ֔ד וַתִּמָּלֵ֤א הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ דָּמִ֔ים וְהָעִ֖יר מָלְאָ֣ה מֻטֶּ֑ה כִּ֣י אָמְר֗וּ עָזַ֤ב יְהֹוָה֙ אֶת־הָאָ֔רֶץ וְאֵ֥ין יְהֹוָ֖ה רֹאֶֽה׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με ἀδικία τοῦ οἴκου Ισραηλ καὶ Ιουδα μεμεγάλυνται σφόδρα σφόδρα ὅτι ἐπλήσθη ἡ γῆ λαῶν πολλῶν καὶ ἡ πόλις ἐπλήσθη ἀδικίας καὶ ἀκαθαρσίας ὅτι εἶπαν ἐγκαταλέλοιπεν κύριος τὴν γῆν οὐκ ἐφορᾷ ὁ κύριος
Et dixit ad me : Iniquitas domus Israël et Juda magna est nimis valde, et repleta est terra sanguinibus, et civitas repleta est aversione : dixerunt enim : Dereliquit Dominus terram, et Dominus non videt.
ወይቤለኒ፡ ዐብየት፡ ኃጢአቶሙ፡ ለቤተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወይሁዳ፡ ፈድፋደ፡ እስመ፡ ከመ፡ መልአት፡ ምድር፡ አሕዛበ፡ ብዙኃነ፡ ከማሁ፡ መልአት፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ዓመፃ፡ ወርኵሰ። ወይቤሎ፡ ኀደጋ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለምድሩ፡ ወኢይኔጽሮሙ።
Then he said to me, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perversion; for they say, ‘Yahweh has forsaken the land, and Yahweh doesn’t see.’
9:10
וְגַ֨ם־אֲנִ֔י לֹא־תָח֥וֹס עֵינִ֖י וְלֹ֣א אֶחְמֹ֑ל דַּרְכָּ֖ם בְּרֹאשָׁ֥ם נָתָֽתִּי׃
καὶ οὐ φείσεταί μου ὁ ὀφθαλμός οὐδὲ μὴ ἐλεήσω τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτῶν εἰς κεφαλὰς αὐτῶν δέδωκα
Igitur et meus non parcet oculus, neque miserebor : viam eorum super caput eorum reddam.
ወዐይንየ፡ ኢትምሕኮሙ፡ ወኢይምሕሮሙ፡ ወእፈድዮሙ፡ በከመ፡ ፍኖቶሙ፡ ዲበ፡ ርእሶሙ።
As for me also, my eye won’t spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way on their head.”
9:11
וְהִנֵּ֞ה הָאִ֣ישׁ׀ לְבֻ֣שׁ הַבַּדִּ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר הַקֶּ֙סֶת֙ בְּמׇתְנָ֔יו מֵשִׁ֥יב דָּבָ֖ר לֵאמֹ֑ר עָשִׂ֕יתִי (כאשר) [כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר] צִוִּיתָֽנִי׃ {פ}
καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ ἀνὴρ ὁ ἐνδεδυκὼς τὸν ποδήρη καὶ ἐζωσμένος τῇ ζώνῃ τὴν ὀσφὺν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπεκρίνατο λέγων πεποίηκα καθὼς ἐνετείλω μοι
Et ecce vir qui erat indutus lineis, qui habebat atramentarium in dorso suo, respondit verbum, dicens : Feci sicut praecepisti mihi.
ወመጽአ፡ ዝኩ፡ ብእሲ፡ ዘይለብስ፡ ጶዴረ፡ ወቅናት፡ ውስተ፡ ሐቌሁ፡ ወተሠጥወ፡ ወይቤ፡ ገበርኩ፡ በከመ፡ አዘዝከኒ።
Behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, “I have done as you have commanded me.”
