8:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֣י ׀ בַּשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשִּׁשִּׁ֗ית בַּשִּׁשִּׁי֙ בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֣ה לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ אֲנִי֙ יוֹשֵׁ֣ב בְּבֵיתִ֔י וְזִקְנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה יוֹשְׁבִ֣ים לְפָנָ֑י וַתִּפֹּ֤ל עָלַי֙ שָׁ֔ם יַ֖ד אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִֽה ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἕκτῳ ἔτει ἐν τῷ πέμπτῳ μηνὶ πέμπτῃ τοῦ μηνὸς ἐγὼ ἐκαθήμην ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι Ιουδα ἐκάθηντο ἐνώπιόν μου καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπ’ ἐμὲ χεὶρ κυρίου
Et factum est in anno sexto , in sexto mense , in quinta mensis , ego sedebam in domo mea , et senes Juda sedebant coram me , et cecidit ibi super me manus Domini Dei .
ወኮነ ፡ አመ ፡ ሳድስ ፡ ዓመት ፡ በሳድስ ፡ ወርኅ ፡ በኃምስ ፡ ሠርቅ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ሀሎኩ ፡ እነብር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤትየ ፡ ወረበናተ ፡ አይሁድ ፡ ቅድሜየ ። ወመጽአ ፡ እደ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አዶናይ ፡ ዲቤየ ።
In the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, the Lord Yahweh’s hand fell on me there.
8:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וָאֶרְאֶ֗ה וְהִנֵּ֤ה דְמוּת֙ כְּמַרְאֵה ־אֵ֔שׁ מִמַּרְאֵ֥ה מׇתְנָ֛יו וּלְמַ֖טָּה אֵ֑שׁ וּמִמׇּתְנָ֣יו וּלְמַ֔עְלָה כְּמַרְאֵה ־זֹ֖הַר כְּעֵ֥ין הַחַשְׁמַֽלָה ׃
καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁμοίωμα ἀνδρός ἀπὸ τῆς ὀσφύος αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕως κάτω πῦρ καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς ὀσφύος αὐτοῦ ὑπεράνω ὡς ὅρασις ἠλέκτρου
Et vidi : et ecce similitudo quasi aspectus ignis : ab aspectu lumborum ejus et deorsum , ignis : et a lumbis ejus et sursum , quasi aspectus splendoris , ut visio electri .
ወርኢኩ ፡ አምሳለ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ እምሐቌሁ ፡ እስከ ፡ ታሕቱ ፡ እሳት ፡ ወእምሐቌሁ ፡ እስከ ፡ ላዕሉ ፡ ከመ ፡ ርእየተ ፡ አውራስ ፡ አምሳለ ፡ እለ ፡ ቄጥሩ ።
Then I saw, and behold, a likeness as the appearance of fire—from the appearance of his waist and downward, fire, and from his waist and upward, as the appearance of brightness, as it were glowing metal.
8:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁלַח֙ תַּבְנִ֣ית יָ֔ד וַיִּקָּחֵ֖נִי בְּצִיצִ֣ת רֹאשִׁ֑י וַתִּשָּׂ֣א אֹתִ֣י ר֣וּחַ ׀בֵּֽין ־הָאָ֣רֶץ וּבֵ֣ין הַשָּׁמַ֡יִם וַתָּבֵא֩ אֹתִ֨י יְרוּשָׁלַ֜͏ְמָה בְּמַרְא֣וֹת אֱלֹהִ֗ים אֶל ־פֶּ֜תַח שַׁ֤עַר הַפְּנִימִית֙ הַפּוֹנֶ֣ה צָפ֔וֹנָה אֲשֶׁר ־שָׁ֣ם מוֹשַׁ֔ב סֵ֖מֶל הַקִּנְאָ֥ה הַמַּקְנֶֽה ׃
καὶ ἐξέτεινεν ὁμοίωμα χειρὸς καὶ ἀνέλαβέν με τῆς κορυφῆς μου καὶ ἀνέλαβέν με πνεῦμα ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἤγαγέν με εἰς Ιερουσαλημ ἐν ὁράσει θεοῦ ἐπὶ τὰ πρόθυρα τῆς πύλης τῆς ἐσωτέρας τῆς βλεπούσης πρὸς βορρᾶν οὗ ἦν ἡ στήλη τοῦ κτωμένου
Et emissa similitudo manus apprehendit me in cincinno capitis mei , et elevavit me spiritus inter terram et caelum : et adduxit me in Jerusalem , in visione Dei , juxta ostium interius quod respiciebat ad aquilonem , ubi erat statutum idolum zeli ad provocandam aemulationem .
ወአንሥአኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዘእድ ፡ ወአኀዘኒ ፡ በድማሕየ ፡ ወአንሥአኒ ፡ መንፈስ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ ወምድር ፡ ወወሰደኒ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ በራእየ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወአብጽሐኒ ፡ ኀበ ፡ አንቀጽ ፡ ውሣጢ ፡ ዘይኔጽር ፡ መንገለ ፡ ደቡብ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሀሎ ፡ ምስል ፡ ዘውእቱ ፡ ቅንአት ።
He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and the sky, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner court that looks toward the north, where there was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.
8:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהִ֨נֵּה ־שָׁ֔ם כְּב֖וֹד אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כַּמַּרְאֶ֕ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר רָאִ֖יתִי בַּבִּקְעָֽה ׃
καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ ἦν δόξα κυρίου θεοῦ Ισραηλ κατὰ τὴν ὅρασιν ἣν εἶδον ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ
Et ecce ibi gloria Dei Israël , secundum visionem quam videram in campo .
ወረከብኩ ፡ በህየ ፡ ስብሐተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ዘከመ ፡ ርኢኩ ፡ ቀዲሙ ፡ በገዳም ።
Behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the appearance that I saw in the plain.
8:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י בֶּן ־אָדָ֕ם שָׂא ־נָ֥א עֵינֶ֖יךָ דֶּ֣רֶךְ צָפ֑וֹנָה וָאֶשָּׂ֤א עֵינַי֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ צָפ֔וֹנָה וְהִנֵּ֤ה מִצָּפוֹן֙ לְשַׁ֣עַר הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ סֵ֛מֶל הַקִּנְאָ֥ה הַזֶּ֖ה בַּבִּאָֽה ׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου ἀνάβλεψον τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου πρὸς βορρᾶν καὶ ἀνέβλεψα τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς μου πρὸς βορρᾶν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀπὸ βορρᾶ ἐπὶ τὴν πύλην τὴν πρὸς ἀνατολάς
Et dixit ad me : Fili hominis , leva oculos tuos ad viam aquilonis . Et levavi oculos meos ad viam aquilonis , et ecce ab aquilone portae altaris idolum zeli in ipso introitu .
ወይቤለኒ ፡ ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ነጽር ፡ በአዕይንቲከ ፡ መንገለ ፡ ደቡብ ። ወነጸርኩ ፡ መንገለ ፡ ደቡብ ፡ ወርኢኩ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኆኅተ ፡ ምሥዋዕ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ዘውእቱ ፡ ቅንአት ፡ ወእምህየ ፡ ያበውእ ፡ ለመንገለ ፡ ጽባሕ ።
Then he said to me, “Son of man, lift up your eyes now the way toward the north.” So I lifted up my eyes the way toward the north, and saw, northward of the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
8:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י בֶּן ־אָדָ֕ם הֲרֹאֶ֥ה אַתָּ֖ה (מהם ) [מָ֣ה הֵ֣ם ] עֹשִׂ֑ים תּוֹעֵב֨וֹת גְּדֹל֜וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל ׀ עֹשִׂ֣ים פֹּ֗ה לְרׇֽחֳקָה֙ מֵעַ֣ל מִקְדָּשִׁ֔י וְעוֹד֙ תָּשׁ֣וּב תִּרְאֶ֔ה תּוֹעֵב֖וֹת גְּדֹלֽוֹת ׃ {פ}
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου ἑώρακας τί οὗτοι ποιοῦσιν ἀνομίας μεγάλας ποιοῦσιν ὧδε τοῦ ἀπέχεσθαι ἀπὸ τῶν ἁγίων μου καὶ ἔτι ὄψει ἀνομίας μείζονας
Et dixit ad me : Fili hominis , putasne vides tu quid isti faciunt , abominationes magnas quas domus Israël facit hic , ut procul recedam a sanctuario meo ? et adhuc conversus videbis abominationes majores .
ወይቤለኒ ፡ ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ርኢከኑ ፡ ዘይገብሩ ፡ እሉ ፡ ኃጢአተ ፡ ዓቢየ ፡ ዘይገብሩ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ በዝየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይዕልዉ ፡ ቅድሳትየ ፡ ወዓዲ ፡ ትሬኢ ፡ ዘየዐቢ ፡ ኃጢአተ ።
He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they do? Even the great abominations that the house of Israel commit here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? But you will again see yet other great abominations.”
8:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֵ֥א אֹתִ֖י אֶל ־פֶּ֣תַח הֶחָצֵ֑ר וָאֶרְאֶ֕ה וְהִנֵּ֥ה חֹר ־אֶחָ֖ד בַּקִּֽיר ׃
καὶ εἰσήγαγέν με ἐπὶ τὰ πρόθυρα τῆς αὐλῆς
Et introduxit me ad ostium atrii , et vidi , et ecce foramen unum in pariete .
ወአብአኒ ፡ ኆኅተ ፡ ዐጸድ ፡ ወረከብኩ ፡ ስቍረተ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አረፍት ።
He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall.
8:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י בֶּן ־אָדָ֖ם חֲתׇר ־נָ֣א בַקִּ֑יר וָאֶחְתֹּ֣ר בַּקִּ֔יר וְהִנֵּ֖ה פֶּ֥תַח אֶחָֽד ׃ {ס}
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου ὄρυξον καὶ ὤρυξα καὶ ἰδοὺ θύρα μία
Et dixit ad me : Fili hominis , fode parietem . Et cum fodissem parietem , apparuit ostium unum .
ወይቤለኒ ፡ ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ክሪ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አረፍት ። ወከረይኩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አረፍተ ፡ ወረከብኩ ፡ ኆኅተ ።
Then he said to me, “Son of man, dig now in the wall.” When I had dug in the wall, I saw a door.
8:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֵלָ֑י בֹּ֤א וּרְאֵה֙ אֶת ־הַתּוֹעֵב֣וֹת הָרָע֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֛ר הֵ֥ם עֹשִׂ֖ים פֹּֽה ׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με εἴσελθε καὶ ἰδὲ τὰς ἀνομίας ἃς οὗτοι ποιοῦσιν ὧδε
Et dixit ad me : Ingredere , et vide abominationes pessimas quas isti faciunt hic .
ወይቤለኒ ፡ ባእ ፡ ወርኢ ፡ ኃጢአቶሙ ፡ ዘይገብሩ ፡ ወእከዮሙ ፡ በዝየ ።
He said to me, “Go in, and see the wicked abominations that they do here.”
8:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וָאָבוֹא֮ וָאֶרְאֶה֒ וְהִנֵּ֨ה כׇל ־תַּבְנִ֜ית רֶ֤מֶשׂ וּבְהֵמָה֙ שֶׁ֔קֶץ וְכׇל ־גִּלּוּלֵ֖י בֵּ֣ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מְחֻקֶּ֥ה עַל ־הַקִּ֖יר סָבִ֥יב ׀סָבִֽיב ׃
καὶ εἰσῆλθον καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ μάταια βδελύγματα καὶ πάντα τὰ εἴδωλα οἴκου Ισραηλ διαγεγραμμένα ἐπ’ αὐτοῦ κύκλῳ
Et ingressus vidi , et ecce omnis similitudo reptilium et animalium , abominatio , et universa idola domus Israël , depicta erant in pariete in circuitu per totum :
ወቦእኩ ፡ ወርኢኩ ፡ አምሳለ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ዘይትሐወስ ፡ አዕዋፍ ፡ ወእንስሳ ፡ ከንቱ ፡ ወርኩስ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ጣዖቶሙ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ሥዑል ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዐውዱ ፡ ለአረፍት ።
So I went in and looked, and saw every form of creeping things, abominable animals, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed around on the wall.
8:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשִׁבְעִ֣ים אִ֣ישׁ מִזִּקְנֵ֣י בֵֽית ־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵ֠ל וְיַאֲזַנְיָ֨הוּ בֶן ־שָׁפָ֜ן עֹמֵ֤ד בְּתוֹכָם֙ עֹמְדִ֣ים לִפְנֵיהֶ֔ם וְאִ֥ישׁ מִקְטַרְתּ֖וֹ בְּיָד֑וֹ וַעֲתַ֥ר עֲנַֽן ־הַקְּטֹ֖רֶת עֹלֶֽה ׃
καὶ ἑβδομήκοντα ἄνδρες ἐκ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων οἴκου Ισραηλ καὶ Ιεζονιας ὁ τοῦ Σαφαν ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν εἱστήκει πρὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν καὶ ἕκαστος θυμιατήριον αὐτοῦ εἶχεν ἐν τῇ χειρί καὶ ἡ ἀτμὶς τοῦ θυμιάματος ἀνέβαινεν
et septuaginta viri de senioribus domus Israël : et Jezonias filius Saphan stabat in medio eorum stantium ante picturas : et unusquisque habebat thuribulum in manu sua , et vapor nebulae de thure consurgebat .
ወ፸ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ እምረበናተ ፡ እስራኤል ፣፡ ወአዛንያስ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሳፋን ፡ ይቀውም ፡ ማእከሎሙ ፡ በቅድሜሆሙ ፣፡ ወኵሎሙ ፡ ይጸውሩ ፡ ማዕጠንተ ፣፡ ወየዐርግ ፡ ጢሰ ፡ ዕጣኑ ።
Seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel stood before them. In the middle of them Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan stood, every man with his censer in his hand; and the smell of the cloud of incense went up.
8:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַי֮ הֲרָאִ֣יתָ בֶן ־אָדָם֒ אֲשֶׁ֨ר זִקְנֵ֤י בֵֽית ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ עֹשִׂ֣ים בַּחֹ֔שֶׁךְ אִ֖ישׁ בְּחַדְרֵ֣י מַשְׂכִּית֑וֹ כִּ֣י אֹמְרִ֗ים אֵ֤ין יְהֹוָה֙ רֹאֶ֣ה אֹתָ֔נוּ עָזַ֥ב יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶת ־הָאָֽרֶץ ׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου ἑώρακας ἃ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ οἴκου Ισραηλ ποιοῦσιν ἕκαστος αὐτῶν ἐν τῷ κοιτῶνι τῷ κρυπτῷ αὐτῶν διότι εἶπαν οὐχ ὁρᾷ ὁ κύριος ἐγκαταλέλοιπεν κύριος τὴν γῆν
Et dixit ad me : Certe vides , fili hominis , quae seniores domus Israël faciunt in tenebris , unusquisque in abscondito cubiculi sui : dicunt enim : Non videt Dominus nos ; dereliquit Dominus terram .
ወይቤለኒ ፡ ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ርኢከኑ ፡ ዘይገብሩ ፡ ረበናተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ ቦኡ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ውሣጥያቲሆሙ ፡ በኅቡእ ፡ ወይቤሉ ፡ ኢይሬኢ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወኀደጋ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለምድር ።
Then he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his rooms of imagery? For they say, ‘Yahweh doesn’t see us. Yahweh has forsaken the land.’”
8:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֵלָ֑י ע֣וֹד תָּשׁ֥וּב תִּרְאֶ֛ה תּוֹעֵב֥וֹת גְּדֹל֖וֹת אֲשֶׁר ־הֵ֥מָּה עֹשִֽׂים ׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με ἔτι ὄψει ἀνομίας μείζονας ἃς οὗτοι ποιοῦσιν
Et dixit ad me : Adhuc conversus videbis abominationes majores , quas isti faciunt .
ወይቤለኒ ፡ ነዓኬ ፡ ትርአይ ፡ ዘየዐቢ ፡ ኃጢአተ ፡ ዘይገብሩ ።
He said also to me, “You will again see more of the great abominations which they do.”
8:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֵ֣א אֹתִ֗י אֶל ־פֶּ֙תַח֙ שַׁ֣עַר בֵּית ־יְהֹוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר אֶל ־הַצָּפ֑וֹנָה וְהִנֵּה ־שָׁם֙ הַנָּשִׁ֣ים יֹשְׁב֔וֹת מְבַכּ֖וֹת אֶת ־הַתַּמּֽוּז ׃ {ס}
καὶ εἰσήγαγέν με ἐπὶ τὰ πρόθυρα τῆς πύλης οἴκου κυρίου τῆς βλεπούσης πρὸς βορρᾶν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ γυναῖκες καθήμεναι θρηνοῦσαι τὸν Θαμμουζ
Et introduxit me per ostium portae domus Domini quod respiciebat ad aquilonem , et ecce ibi mulieres sedebant plangentes Adonidem .
ወአብአኒ ፡ አንቀጸ ፡ ዐጸደ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘይኔጽር ፡ ሰሜነ ፡ ወረከብኩ ፡ በህየ ፡ አንስት ፡ ይነብራ ፡ ወያስቆቅዋሁ ፡ ለተሙዝ ።
Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Yahweh’s house which was toward the north; and I saw the women sit there weeping for Tammuz.
8:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֵלַ֖י הֲרָאִ֣יתָ בֶן ־אָדָ֑ם ע֣וֹד תָּשׁ֥וּב תִּרְאֶ֛ה תּוֹעֵב֖וֹת גְּדֹל֥וֹת מֵאֵֽלֶּה ׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου ἑώρακας καὶ ἔτι ὄψει ἐπιτηδεύματα μείζονα τούτων
Et dixit ad me : Certe vidisti , fili hominis : adhuc conversus videbis abominationes majores his .
ወይቤለኒ ፡ ርኢኬ ፡ ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ወዓዲ ፡ ትሬኢ ፡ ዘየዐቢ ፡ ኃጢአቶሙ ።
Then he said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? You will again see yet greater abominations than these.”
8:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֵ֣א אֹתִ֗י אֶל ־חֲצַ֣ר בֵּית ־יְהֹוָה֮ הַפְּנִימִית֒ וְהִנֵּה ־פֶ֜תַח הֵיכַ֣ל יְהֹוָ֗ה בֵּ֤ין הָֽאוּלָם֙ וּבֵ֣ין הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ כְּעֶשְׂרִ֥ים וַחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה אִ֑ישׁ אֲחֹ֨רֵיהֶ֜ם אֶל ־הֵיכַ֤ל יְהֹוָה֙ וּפְנֵיהֶ֣ם קֵ֔דְמָה וְהֵ֛מָּה מִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶ֥ם קֵ֖דְמָה לַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ ׃
καὶ εἰσήγαγέν με εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν οἴκου κυρίου τὴν ἐσωτέραν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐπὶ τῶν προθύρων τοῦ ναοῦ κυρίου ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν αιλαμ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου ὡς εἴκοσι ἄνδρες τὰ ὀπίσθια αὐτῶν πρὸς τὸν ναὸν τοῦ κυρίου καὶ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν ἀπέναντι καὶ οὗτοι προσκυνοῦσιν τῷ ἡλίῳ
Et introduxit me in atrium domus Domini interius , et ecce in ostio templi Domini , inter vestibulum et altare , quasi viginti quinque viri dorsa habentes contra templum Domini , et facies ad orientem : et adorabant ad ortum solis .
ወአብአኒ ፡ ዐጸደ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ውሣጢ ፡ ወቅድመ ፡ ኆኅተ ፡ መቅደስ ፡ ዘእግዚአብሔር ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ኤላም ፡ ወማእከለ ፡ ምሥዋዕ ፡ ፳ወ፭ ፡ ዕደው ፡ ዘባኖሙ ፡ መንገለ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወገጾሙ ፡ መንገለ ፡ ጽባሕ ፡ ወይሰግዱ ፡ ለፀሐይ ።
He brought me into the inner court of Yahweh’s house; and I saw at the door of Yahweh’s temple, between the porch and the altar, there were about twenty-five men with their backs toward Yahweh’s temple and their faces toward the east. They were worshiping the sun toward the east.
8:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַי֮ הֲרָאִ֣יתָ בֶן ־אָדָם֒ הֲנָקֵל֙ לְבֵ֣ית יְהוּדָ֔ה מֵעֲשׂ֕וֹת אֶת ־הַתּוֹעֵב֖וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשׂוּ ־פֹ֑ה כִּֽי ־מָלְא֨וּ אֶת ־הָאָ֜רֶץ חָמָ֗ס וַיָּשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ לְהַכְעִיסֵ֔נִי וְהִנָּ֛ם שֹׁלְחִ֥ים אֶת ־הַזְּמוֹרָ֖ה אֶל ־אַפָּֽם ׃
καὶ εἶπεν πρός με ἑώρακας υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου μὴ μικρὰ τῷ οἴκῳ Ιουδα τοῦ ποιεῖν τὰς ἀνομίας ἃς πεποιήκασιν ὧδε διότι ἔπλησαν τὴν γῆν ἀνομίας καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτοὶ ὡς μυκτηρίζοντες
Et dixit ad me : Certe vidisti , fili hominis : numquid leve est hoc domui Juda , ut facerent abominationes istas quas fecerunt hic , quia replentes terram iniquitate , conversi sunt ad irritandum me ? et ecce applicant ramum ad nares suas .
ወይቤለኒ ፡ ርኢከኑ ፡ ወልደ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ታስተቃልልኑ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ኃጢአቶሙ ፡ ዘይገብሩ ፡ በዝየ ፡ እስመ ፡ መልእዋ ፡ ለምድር ፡ ጣዖቶሙ ፡ ወዐለዉኒ ፡ ወአምዕዑኒ ። ወናሁ ፡ አንኁ ፡ ዐጽቆሙ ፡ ወይሣለቁ ።
Then he said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence, and have turned again to provoke me to anger. Behold, they put the branch to their nose.
8:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְגַם ־אֲנִי֙ אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה בְחֵמָ֔ה לֹא ־תָח֥וֹס עֵינִ֖י וְלֹ֣א אֶחְמֹ֑ל וְקָרְא֤וּ בְאׇזְנַי֙ ק֣וֹל גָּד֔וֹל וְלֹ֥א אֶשְׁמַ֖ע אוֹתָֽם ׃
καὶ ἐγὼ ποιήσω αὐτοῖς μετὰ θυμοῦ οὐ φείσεται ὁ ὀφθαλμός μου οὐδὲ μὴ ἐλεήσω
Ergo et ego faciam in furore : non parcet oculus meus , nec miserebor : et cum clamaverint ad aures meas voce magna , non exaudiam eos .
ወአነሂ ፡ እትቤቀሎሙ ፡ በመዐትየ ፡ ወኢይሠሀሎሙ ፡ ወዐይንየ ፡ ኢትምሕኮሙ ፡ ወየአወይዉ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እዝንየ ፡ በዓቢይ ፡ ቃል ፡ ወኢይሰምዖሙ ።
Therefore I will also deal in wrath. My eye won’t spare, neither will I have pity. Though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, yet I will not hear them.”
