11:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἔστιν δὲ πίστις ἐλπιζομένων ὑπόστασις , πραγμάτων ἔλεγχος οὐ βλεπομένων .
Est autem fides sperandarum substantia rerum , argumentum non apparentium .
ሃይማኖትሰ ጥይቅት ይእቲ ለዘይሴፈዋ ሀለዉ እለ ተአመኑ ተሰፊዎሙ ንዋየ ዘኢያስተርኢ ።
Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.
11:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ταύτῃ γὰρ ἐμαρτυρήθησαν οἱ πρεσβύτεροι .
In hac enim testimonium consecuti sunt senes .
ዘበእንቲኣሁ ሰማዕተ ኮኑ ሊቃውንት ።
For by this, the elders obtained approval.
11:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πίστει νοοῦμεν κατηρτίσθαι τοὺς αἰῶνας ῥήματι θεοῦ , εἰς τὸ μὴ ἐκ φαινομένων τὸ βλεπόμενον γεγονέναι .
Fide intelligimus aptata esse saecula verbo Dei : ut ex invisibilibus visibilia fierent .
በሃይማኖት ነአምር ከመ ተፈጥረ ዓለም በቃለ እግዚአብሔር ወአስተርአየ ዘኢያስተርኢ ምንትኒ ዘኮነ እምኀበ ኢሀሎ ።
By faith we understand that the universe has been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which are visible.
11:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πίστει πλείονα θυσίαν Ἄβελ παρὰ Κάϊν προσήνεγκεν τῷ θεῷ , δι’ ἧς ἐμαρτυρήθη εἶναι δίκαιος , μαρτυροῦντος ἐπὶ τοῖς δώροις αὐτοῦ τοῦ θεοῦ , καὶ δι’ αὐτῆς ἀποθανὼν ἔτι λαλεῖ .
Fide plurimam hostiam Abel , quam Cain , obtulit Deo , per quam testimonium consecutus est esse justus , testimonium perhibente muneribus ejus Deo , et per illam defunctus adhuc loquitur .
በተአምኖ ኀየሰ መሥዋዕተ አቤል እምዘ ቃየል ዘአብአ ለእግዚአብሔር ወበእንቲኣሁ ሰማዕተ ኮኖ ከመ ጻድቅ ውእቱ ወሰማዕቱ እግዚአብሔር በተወክፎ መሥዋዕቱ ወበእንቲኣሁ መዊቶ ዓዲ ተናገረ ።
By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had testimony given to him that he was righteous, God testifying with respect to his gifts; and through it he, being dead, still speaks.
11:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πίστει Ἐνὼχ μετετέθη τοῦ μὴ ἰδεῖν θάνατον , καὶ οὐχ ηὑρίσκετο διότι μετέθηκεν αὐτὸν ὁ θεός . πρὸ γὰρ τῆς μεταθέσεως μεμαρτύρηται εὐαρεστηκέναι τῷ θεῷ ·
Fide Henoch translatus est ne videret mortem , et non inveniebatur , quia transtulit illum Deus : ante translationem enim testimonium habuit placuisse Deo .
በተአምኖ ፈለሰ ሄኖክ ከመ ኢይርአዮ ለሞት ወኢተረክበ እስመ ከበቶ እግዚአብሔር ወዘእንበለ ያፍልሶ ሰማዕተ ኮኖ ከመ አሥመሮ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
By faith Enoch was taken away, so that he wouldn’t see death, and he was not found, because God translated him. For he has had testimony given to him that before his translation he had been well pleasing to God.
11:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ χωρὶς δὲ πίστεως ἀδύνατον εὐαρεστῆσαι , πιστεῦσαι γὰρ δεῖ τὸν προσερχόμενον θεῷ , ὅτι ἔστιν καὶ τοῖς ἐκζητοῦσιν αὐτὸν μισθαποδότης γίνεται .
Sine fide autem impossibile est placere Deo . Credere enim oportet accedentem ad Deum quia est , et inquirentibus se remunerator sit .
ወዘእንበለ ተአምኖሰ ኢይትከሀል ያሥምርዎ ለእግዚአብሔር ወርቱዕሰ ይትአመን ይቅድም ዘይበውእ ኀበ እግዚአብሔር ወያእምር ከመ ሀሎ ዘይዔስዮሙ ለእለ የኀሥሥዎ ።
Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.
11:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πίστει χρηματισθεὶς Νῶε περὶ τῶν μηδέπω βλεπομένων εὐλαβηθεὶς κατεσκεύασεν κιβωτὸν εἰς σωτηρίαν τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ , δι’ ἧς κατέκρινεν τὸν κόσμον , καὶ τῆς κατὰ πίστιν δικαιοσύνης ἐγένετο κληρονόμος .
Fide Noë responso accepto de iis quae adhuc non videbantur , metuens aptavit arcam in salutem domus suae , per quam damnavit mundum : et justitiae , quae per fidem est , haeres est institutus .
በተአምኖ አመ ነገርዎ ለኖኅ በእንተ ዘኢያስተርኢ ግብር ዘኅቡእ ፈርሀ ወገብረ ንፍቀ ታቦት በዘያድኅን ቤቶ አመ ተኰነነ ዓለም ወኮነ ወራሲሃ ለጽድቀ ሃይማኖት ።
By faith Noah, being warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared a ship for the saving of his house, through which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
11:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πίστει καλούμενος Ἀβραὰμ ὑπήκουσεν ἐξελθεῖν εἰς τόπον ὃν ἤμελλεν λαμβάνειν εἰς κληρονομίαν , καὶ ἐξῆλθεν μὴ ἐπιστάμενος ποῦ ἔρχεται .
Fide qui vocatur Abraham obedivit in locum exire , quem accepturus erat in haereditatem : et exiit , nesciens quo iret .
በተአምኖ ሰምዐ ዘተሰምየ አብርሃም ወተአዘዘ ይሑር ብሔረ ኀበ ሀለዎ ይንሣእ ርስቶ ወሖረ እንዘ ኢየአምር ኀበ ይበጽሕ ።
By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he went.
11:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ πίστει παρῴκησεν εἰς γῆν τῆς ἐπαγγελίας ὡς ἀλλοτρίαν , ἐν σκηναῖς κατοικήσας μετὰ Ἰσαὰκ καὶ Ἰακὼβ τῶν συνκληρονόμων τῆς ἐπαγγελίας τῆς αὐτῆς ·
Fide demoratus est in terra repromissionis , tamquam in aliena , in casulis habitando cum Isaac et Jacob cohaeredibus repromissionis ejusdem .
በተአምኖ ፈለሰ ወነበረ ብሔረ ዘአሰፈዎ ከመ ነኪር በሐይመታት ምስለ ይስሐቅ ወያዕቆብ እለ እሙንቱ ይወርስዋ ለተስፋሁ ።
By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.
11:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐξεδέχετο γὰρ τὴν τοὺς θεμελίους ἔχουσαν πόλιν , ἧς τεχνίτης καὶ δημιουργὸς ὁ θεός .
Exspectabat enim fundamenta habentem civitatem : cujus artifex et conditor Deus .
እስመ ኮኑ ይጸንሑ ሀገረ እንተ ባቲ መሠረት እንተ ኬንያሃ ወገባሪሃ እግዚአብሔር ።
For he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πίστει καὶ αὐτὴ Σάρρα δύναμιν εἰς καταβολὴν σπέρματος ἔλαβεν καὶ παρὰ καιρὸν ἡλικίας , ἐπεὶ πιστὸν ἡγήσατο τὸν ἐπαγγειλάμενον .
Fide et ipsa Sara sterilis virtutem in conceptionem seminis accepit , etiam praeter tempus aetatis : quoniam fidelem credidit esse eum qui repromiserat .
በተአምኖ ይእቲኒ ሣራ ረከበት ኀይለ ታውፅእ ዘርዐ እንዘ መካን ይእቲ በዘረስአት እስመ ተአመነቶ ከመ ጻድቅ ዘአሰፈዋ ።
By faith even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised.
11:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ διὸ καὶ ἀφ’ ἑνὸς ἐγεννήθησαν , καὶ ταῦτα νενεκρωμένου , καθὼς τὰ ἄστρα τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τῷ πλήθει καὶ ὡς ἡ ἄμμος ἡ παρὰ τὸ χεῖλος τῆς θαλάσσης ἡ ἀναρίθμητος .
Propter quod et ab uno orti sunt (et hoc emortuo ) tamquam sidera caeli in multitudinem , et sicut arena , quae est ad oram maris , innumerabilis .
እንዘ ክልኤሆሙ ከመ በድን ነፍስቶሙ ከመ ይኩን ብዝኆሙ ከመ ኮከበ ሰማይ ወከመ ኆፃ ባሕር ዘኢይትኌለቍ ።
Therefore as many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as innumerable as the sand which is by the sea shore, were fathered by one man, and him as good as dead.
11:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ Κατὰ πίστιν ἀπέθανον οὗτοι πάντες , μὴ κομισάμενοι τὰς ἐπαγγελίας , ἀλλὰ πόρρωθεν αὐτὰς ἰδόντες καὶ ἀσπασάμενοι , καὶ ὁμολογήσαντες ὅτι ξένοι καὶ παρεπίδημοί εἰσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ·
Juxta fidem defuncti sunt omnes isti , non acceptis repromissionibus , sed a longe eas aspicientes , et salutantes , et confitentes quia peregrini et hospites sunt super terram .
እሉ ኵሎሙ እንዘ ይትአመኑ ሞቱ ወኢረከቡ ተስፋሆሙ ወባሕቱ እምርሑቅሰ ርእይዋ ወተአምኅዋ ወአእመሩ ከመ ነግድ ወፈላሲ እሙንቱ ዲበ ምድር ።
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and embraced them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
11:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἱ γὰρ τοιαῦτα λέγοντες ἐμφανίζουσιν ὅτι πατρίδα ἐπιζητοῦσιν .
Qui enim haec dicunt , significant se patriam inquirere .
ወእለ ከመዝ ይብሉ በእንቲኣሆሙ ያሬእዩ ነገረ ከመ ሀገሮሙ የኀሥሡ ።
For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own.
11:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἰ μὲν ἐκείνης μνημονεύουσιν ἀφ’ ἧς ἐξέβησαν , εἶχον ἂν καιρὸν ἀνακάμψαι ·
Et si quidem ipsius meminissent de qua exierunt , habebant utique tempus revertendi :
ወሶበሰ ይፈቅዱ ሀገረ እንተ እምኔሃ ወፅኡ እምተክህሎሙ ይግብኡ ኀቤሃ ።
If indeed they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had enough time to return.
11:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ νῦν δὲ κρείττονος ὀρέγονται , τοῦτ’ ἔστιν ἐπουρανίου . διὸ οὐκ ἐπαισχύνεται αὐτοὺς ὁ θεὸς θεὸς ἐπικαλεῖσθαι αὐτῶν , ἡτοίμασεν γὰρ αὐτοῖς πόλιν .
nunc autem meliorem appetunt , id est , caelestem . Ideo non confunditur Deus vocari Deus eorum : paravit enim illis civitatem .
ወይእዜሰ ተዐውቀ ከመ እንተ ትኄይስ ሀገረ እንተ በሰማያት ኮኑ ይሴፈዉ ወበእንተዝ ኢየኀፍር እግዚአብሔር ከመ ይትበሀል አምላኮሙ እስመ አስተዳለወ ሎሙ ሀገረ እንተ ተሰፈዉ ።
But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
11:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πίστει προσενήνοχεν Ἀβραὰμ τὸν Ἰσαὰκ πειραζόμενος , καὶ τὸν μονογενῆ προσέφερεν ὁ τὰς ἐπαγγελίας ἀναδεξάμενος ,
Fide obtulit Abraham Isaac , cum tentaretur , et unigenitum offerebat , qui susceperat repromissiones :
በተአምኖ ወሰዶ አብርሃም ለይስሐቅ ወልዱ ከመ ይሡዖ አመ አመከሮ ።
By faith, Abraham, being tested, offered up Isaac. Yes, he who had gladly received the promises was offering up his only born son,
11:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ πρὸς ὃν ἐλαλήθη ὅτι ἐν Ἰσαὰκ κληθήσεταί σοι σπέρμα ,
ad quem dictum est : Quia in Isaac vocabitur tibi semen :
ወአብአ ዘአሐዱ ሎቱ ዘበእንቲኣሁ አሰፈዎ ወይቤሎ «እምይስሐቅ ይሰመይ ለከ ዘርዕ ።»
to whom it was said, “Your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac,”
11:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ λογισάμενος ὅτι καὶ ἐκ νεκρῶν ἐγείρειν δυνατὸς ὁ θεός · ὅθεν αὐτὸν καὶ ἐν παραβολῇ ἐκομίσατο .
arbitrans quia et a mortuis suscitare potens est Deus : unde eum et in parabolam accepit .
ተአሚኖ ከመ ይክል እግዚአብሔር አንሥኦቶ እሙታን ወበእንተዝ ኮነ ሎቱ ተዝካረ ውእቱ ዘተውህበ ።
concluding that God is able to raise up even from the dead. Figuratively speaking, he also did receive him back from the dead.
11:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ πίστει περὶ μελλόντων εὐλόγησεν Ἰσαὰκ τὸν Ἰακὼβ καὶ τὸν Ἠσαῦ .
Fide et de futuris benedixit Isaac Jacob et Esau .
በተአምኖ በዘይከውን ባረኮሙ ይስሐቅ ለያዕቆብ ወለዔሳው በእንተ ዘሀለዎሙ ይርከቡ ።
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau, even concerning things to come.
11:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ πίστει Ἰακὼβ ἀποθνῄσκων ἕκαστον τῶν υἱῶν Ἰωσὴφ εὐλόγησεν , καὶ προσεκύνησεν ἐπὶ τὸ ἄκρον τῆς ῥάβδου αὐτοῦ .
Fide Jacob , moriens , singulos filiorum Joseph benedixit : et adoravit fastigium virgae ejus .
በተአምኖ አመ ይመውት ያዕቆብ ባረኮሙ ለደቂቀ ዮሴፍ ለለ አሐዱ ወሰገደ ውስተ ከተማ በትሩ ።
By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.
11:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ πίστει Ἰωσὴφ τελευτῶν περὶ τῆς ἐξόδου τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ ἐμνημόνευσεν , καὶ περὶ τῶν ὀστέων αὐτοῦ ἐνετείλατο .
Fide Joseph , moriens , de profectione filiorum Israël memoratus est , et de ossibus suis mandavit .
በተአምኖ አመ ይመውት ዮሴፍ ተዘከረ በእንተ ፀአቶሙ ለደቂቀ እስራኤል እምድረ ግብፅ ወአዘዘ በእንተ አዕጽምቲሁ ።
By faith Joseph, when his end was near, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.
11:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πίστει Μωϋσῆς γεννηθεὶς ἐκρύβη τρίμηνον ὑπὸ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ , διότι εἶδον ἀστεῖον τὸ παιδίον , καὶ οὐκ ἐφοβήθησαν τὸ διάταγμα τοῦ βασιλέως .
Fide Moyses , natus , occultatus est mensibus tribus a parentibus suis , eo quod vidissent elegantem infantem , et non timuerunt regis edictum .
በተአምኖ ተወሊዶ ሙሴ ኀብእዎ ሠለስተ አውራኀ በቤተ አበዊሁ እስመ ርእይዎ ከመ ሠናይ ውእቱ ሕፃን ወኢፈርሁ ትእዛዘ ንጉሥ ።
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
11:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ πίστει Μωϋσῆς μέγας γενόμενος ἠρνήσατο λέγεσθαι υἱὸς θυγατρὸς Φαραώ ,
Fide Moyses grandis factus negavit se esse filium filiae Pharaonis ,
በተአምኖ ልሂቆ ሙሴ ክሕደ ከመ ኢይበልዎ ወልደ ወለተ ፈርዖን ።
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
11:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ μᾶλλον ἑλόμενος συνκακουχεῖσθαι τῷ λαῷ τοῦ θεοῦ ἢ πρόσκαιρον ἔχειν ἁμαρτίας ἀπόλαυσιν ,
magis eligens affligi cum populo Dei , quam temporalis peccati habere jucunditatem ,
ወአብደረ ይሕምም ምስለ ሕዝበ እግዚአብሔር እምይደለው ለሰዓት ወይኩኖ ኀጢአተ ።
choosing rather to share ill treatment with God’s people than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time,
11:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ μείζονα πλοῦτον ἡγησάμενος τῶν Αἰγύπτου θησαυρῶν τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν τοῦ Χριστοῦ , ἀπέβλεπεν γὰρ εἰς τὴν μισθαποδοσίαν .
majores divitias aestimans thesauro Aegyptiorum , improperium Christi : aspiciebat enim in remunerationem .
እስመ አእመረ ከመ የዐቢ ትዕይርተ መስቀሉ ለክርስቶስ እምኵሉ መዛግብቲሆሙ ለግብፅ ።
considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
11:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ πίστει κατέλιπεν Αἴγυπτον , μὴ φοβηθεὶς τὸν θυμὸν τοῦ βασιλέως , τὸν γὰρ ἀόρατον ὡς ὁρῶν ἐκαρτέρησεν .
Fide reliquit Aegyptum , non veritus animositatem regis : invisibilem enim tamquam videns sustinuit .
በተአምኖ ኀደረ ብሔረ ግብፅ ኢፈሪሆ መዓተ ንጉሥ እስመ አብደረ ይፍርሆ ለዘኢያስተርኢ እምዘይሬኢ ጸኒሖ ዕሴቶ ።
By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
11:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ πίστει πεποίηκεν τὸ πάσχα καὶ τὴν πρόσχυσιν τοῦ αἵματος , ἵνα μὴ ὁ ὀλοθρεύων τὰ πρωτότοκα θίγῃ αὐτῶν .
Fide celebravit Pascha , et sanguinis effusionem : ne qui vastabat primitiva , tangeret eos .
በተአምኖ ገብረ ፍሥሐ ወነዝኀ ደመ ከመ ኢያጥፍእ ሎሙ በኵሮሙ ብድብድ ።
By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them.
11:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ πίστει διέβησαν τὴν ἐρυθρὰν θάλασσαν ὡς διὰ ξηρᾶς γῆς , ἧς πεῖραν λαβόντες οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι κατεπόθησαν .
Fide transierunt mare Rubrum tamquam per aridam terram : quod experti Aegyptii , devorati sunt .
በተአምኖ ዐደውዋ ለባሕረ ኤርትራ ከመ ዘውስተ ምድር ይቡስ ወኮነቶሙ መከራ ለግብፅ ተሠጢሞሙ ።
By faith they passed through the Red Sea as on dry land. When the Egyptians tried to do so, they were swallowed up.
11:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ πίστει τὰ τείχη Ἱερειχὼ ἔπεσαν κυκλωθέντα ἐπὶ ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας .
Fide muri Jericho corruerunt , circuitu dierum septem .
በተአምኖ ወድቀ አረፋቲሃ ለኢያሪኮ አመ የዐውድዋ ሰቡዐ ዕለተ ።
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days.
11:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ πίστει Ῥαὰβ ἡ πόρνη οὐ συναπώλετο τοῖς ἀπειθήσασιν , δεξαμένη τοὺς κατασκόπους μετ’ εἰρήνης .
Fide Rahab meretrix non periit cum incredulis , excipiens exploratores cum pace .
በተአምኖ ረአብኒ ዘማ ኢተኀጕለት ምስለ ዐላውያን እስመ ተወክፈቶሙ ለሰብአ ዐይን ወኀብአቶሙ በሰላም ።
By faith Rahab the prostitute didn’t perish with those who were disobedient, having received the spies in peace.
11:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ τί ἔτι λέγω ; ἐπιλείψει με γὰρ διηγούμενον ὁ χρόνος περὶ Γεδεών , Βαράκ , Σαμψών , Ἰεφθάε , Δαυείδ τε καὶ Σαμουὴλ καὶ τῶν προφητῶν ,
Et quid adhuc dicam ? deficiet enim me tempus enarrantem de Gedeon , Barac , Samson , Jephte , David , Samuel , et prophetis :
ወምንተ እንከ እብል ፤ እስመ ሕጹር ዕለትየ ከመ እዜኑክሙ በእንተ እለ ጌዴዎን ወባርቅ ወዮፍታሔ ወሶምሶን ፥ ወዳዊት ወሳሙኤል ወባዕዳንሂ ነቢያት ።
What more shall I say? For the time would fail me if I told of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets—
11:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ οἳ διὰ πίστεως κατηγωνίσαντο βασιλείας , ἠργάσαντο δικαιοσύνην , ἐπέτυχον ἐπαγγελιῶν , ἔφραξαν στόματα λεόντων ,
qui per fidem vicerunt regna , operati sunt justitiam , adepti sunt repromissiones , obturaverunt ora leonum ,
እለ በተአምኖ ተጋደሉ ወሞኡ ነገሥተ ወአድምዑ ፍናዊሆሙ ተገበሩ ጽድቀ ወረከቡ ተስፋሆሙ ወፈጸሙ አፈ አናብስት ።
who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked out righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
11:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔσβεσαν δύναμιν πυρός , ἔφυγον στόματα μαχαίρης , ἐδυναμώθησαν ἀπὸ ἀσθενείας , ἐγενήθησαν ἰσχυροὶ ἐν πολέμῳ , παρεμβολὰς ἔκλιναν ἀλλοτρίων ·
extinxerunt impetum ignis , effugerunt aciem gladii , convaluerunt de infirmitate , fortes facti sunt in bello , castra verterunt exterorum :
ወአጥፍኡ ኀይለ እሳት ወድኅኑ እምአፈ ኲናት ወጸንዑ በሕማሞሙ ወኀየሉ በውስተ ጸብእ ወሰደዱ ተዓይነ ፀር ።
quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, grew mighty in war, and caused foreign armies to flee.
11:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἔλαβον γυναῖκες ἐξ ἀναστάσεως τοὺς νεκροὺς αὐτῶν · ἄλλοι δὲ ἐτυμπανίσθησαν , οὐ προσδεξάμενοι τὴν ἀπολύτρωσιν , ἵνα κρείττονος ἀναστάσεως τύχωσιν ·
acceperunt mulieres de resurrectione mortuos suos : alii autem distenti sunt non suscipientes redemptionem ut meliorem invenirent resurrectionem .
ወነሥኣ አንስት ምዉታኒሆን አሕዪዎሙ ከመ ዘትንሣኤ ወቦ እለ ሞቱሂ ተኰኒኖሙ እስመ ኢፈቀዱ ድኂነ ከመ ይርከቡ ሕይወተ እንተ ትኄይስ ።
Women received their dead by resurrection. Others were tortured, not accepting their deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
11:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἕτεροι δὲ ἐμπαιγμῶν καὶ μαστίγων πεῖραν ἔλαβον , ἔτι δὲ δεσμῶν καὶ φυλακῆς ·
Alii vero ludibria , et verbera experti , insuper et vincula , et carceres :
ወቦ እለሂ ቀሠፍዎሙ ወተሣለቁ ላዕሌሆሙ ወኀመይዎሙ ወሞቅሕዎሙ ።
Others were tried by mocking and scourging, yes, moreover by bonds and imprisonment.
11:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐλιθάσθησαν , ἐπειράσθησαν , ἐπρίσθησαν , ἐν φόνῳ μαχαίρης ἀπέθανον , περιῆλθον ἐν μηλωταῖς , ἐν αἰγείοις δέρμασιν , ὑστερούμενοι , θλιβόμενοι , κακουχούμενοι ,
lapidati sunt , secti sunt , tentati sunt , in occisione gladii mortui sunt , circuierunt in melotis , in pellibus caprinis , egentes , angustiati , afflicti :
ወቦ እለ ወሰርዎሙ በሞሰርት ወወገርዎሙ ወቀተልዎሙ በአፈ መጥባሕት ወዔሉ በሠቅ ወበሐሜለት ወበዘብድወ ጠሊ ተጸነሱ ተመንደቡ ሐሙ ርኅቡ ጸምዑ ።
They were stoned. They were sawn apart. They were tempted. They were slain with the sword. They went around in sheep skins and in goat skins; being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated—
11:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὧν οὐκ ἦν ἄξιος ὁ κόσμος , ἐπὶ ἐρημίαις πλανώμενοι καὶ ὄρεσιν καὶ σπηλαίοις καὶ ταῖς ὀπαῖς τῆς γῆς .
quibus dignus non erat mundus : in solitudinibus errantes , in montibus , in speluncis , et in cavernis terrae .
እሉ እሙንቱ ዘኢይደልዎሙ ዓለም ወዔሉ ውስተ ገዳም ወውስተ አድባር ወበኣታት ወግበበ ምድር ።
of whom the world was not worthy—wandering in deserts, mountains, caves, and the holes of the earth.
11:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὗτοι πάντες μαρτυρηθέντες διὰ τῆς πίστεως οὐκ ἐκομίσαντο τὴν ἐπαγγελίαν ,
Et hi omnes testimonio fidei probati , non acceperunt repromissionem ,
ወኵሎሙ ሰማዕተ ኮኑ በሃይማኖት ወኢያድምዑ ዘአሰፈዎሙ ።
These all, having been commended for their faith, didn’t receive the promise,
11:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ τοῦ θεοῦ περὶ ἡμῶν κρεῖττόν τι προβλεψαμένου , ἵνα μὴ χωρὶς ἡμῶν τελειωθῶσιν .
Deo pro nobis melius aliquid providente , ut non sine nobis consummarentur .
እስመ አቅደመ እግዚአብሔር ርእየ በእንቲኣነ እንተ ትኄይስ ከመ ኢይሠለጡ ዘእንበሌነ ።
God having provided some better thing concerning us, so that apart from us they should not be made perfect.
