7:1
כְּרׇפְאִ֣י לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וְנִגְלָ֞ה עֲוֺ֤ן אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ וְרָע֣וֹת שֹׁמְר֔וֹן כִּ֥י פָעֲל֖וּ שָׁ֑קֶר וְגַנָּ֣ב יָב֔וֹא פָּשַׁ֥ט גְּד֖וּד בַּחֽוּץ׃
ἐν τῷ ἰάσασθαί με τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ἀποκαλυφθήσεται ἡ ἀδικία Εφραιμ καὶ ἡ κακία Σαμαρείας ὅτι ἠργάσαντο ψευδῆ καὶ κλέπτης πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰσελεύσεται ἐκδιδύσκων λῃστὴς ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ αὐτοῦ
Cum sanare vellem Israël, revelata est iniquitas Ephraim, et malitia Samariae, quia operati sunt mendacium ; et fur ingressus est spolians, latrunculus foris.
ወሶበ፡ ሰፋሕክዎ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ትትከሠት፡ ዐመፃሁ፡ ለኤፍሬም፡ ወእከየ፡ ሰማርያ፡ እስመ፡ ሐሰተ፡ ገብሩ። ወያበውእ፡ ሠርዌ፡ ኀቤሁ፡ ወይትፈየት፡ ወይሰልብ፡ በፍኖት፡ ከመ፡ ይኅበር፡ ማዕሌቶሙ።
When I would heal Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, also the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief enters in, and the gang of robbers ravages outside.
7:2
וּבַל־יֹֽאמְרוּ֙ לִלְבָבָ֔ם כׇּל־רָעָתָ֖ם זָכָ֑רְתִּי עַתָּה֙ סְבָב֣וּם מַעַלְלֵיהֶ֔ם נֶ֥גֶד פָּנַ֖י הָיֽוּ׃
ὅπως συνᾴδωσιν ὡς συνᾴδοντες τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτῶν πάσας τὰς κακίας αὐτῶν ἐμνήσθην νῦν ἐκύκλωσεν αὐτοὺς τὰ διαβούλια αὐτῶν ἀπέναντι τοῦ προσώπου μου ἐγένοντο
Et ne forte dicant in cordibus suis, omnem malitiam eorum me recordatum, nunc circumdederunt eos adinventiones suae : coram facie mea factae sunt.
ወአእመርኩ፡ ዘኀልዩ፡ በልቦሙ፡ ወተዘከርኩ፡ ኵሎ፡ እከዮሙ፡ ይእዜኒ፡ የዐግቶሙ፡ ኲሉ፡ እከዮሙ፡ ወጌጋዮሙ፡ ወበቅድመ፡ ገጽየ፡ ኮኖሙ።
They don’t consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness. Now their own deeds have engulfed them. They are before my face.
7:3
בְּרָעָתָ֖ם יְשַׂמְּחוּ־מֶ֑לֶךְ וּבְכַחֲשֵׁיהֶ֖ם שָׂרִֽים׃
ἐν ταῖς κακίαις αὐτῶν εὔφραναν βασιλεῖς καὶ ἐν τοῖς ψεύδεσιν αὐτῶν ἄρχοντας
In malitia sua laetificaverunt regem, et in mendaciis suis principes.
ወተፈሥሑ፡ ነገሥት፡ በእከዮሙ፡ ወመላእክትኒ፡ በሐሰቶሙ።
They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
7:4
כֻּלָּם֙ מְנָ֣אֲפִ֔ים כְּמ֣וֹ תַנּ֔וּר בֹּעֵ֖רָה מֵאֹפֶ֑ה יִשְׁבּ֣וֹת מֵעִ֔יר מִלּ֥וּשׁ בָּצֵ֖ק עַד־חֻמְצָתֽוֹ׃
πάντες μοιχεύοντες ὡς κλίβανος καιόμενος εἰς πέψιν κατακαύματος ἀπὸ τῆς φλογός ἀπὸ φυράσεως στέατος ἕως τοῦ ζυμωθῆναι αὐτό
Omnes adulterantes, quasi clibanus succensus a coquente ; quievit paululum civitas a commistione fermenti, donec fermentaretur totum.
እስመ፡ ኲሎሙ፡ የሐውሩ፡ ኀበ፡ ብእሲተ፡ ብእሲ፡ ከመ፡ እቶን፡ ዘአንደዱ፡ ለኀቢዝ፡ ዘያንበለብል፡ ነዱ፡ እምሐሪፅ፡ ዘልውስ፡ እስከ፡ ይትበሐዕ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ነገሥቶሙ።
They are all adulterers. They are burning like an oven that the baker stops stirring, from the kneading of the dough, until it is leavened.
7:5
י֣וֹם מַלְכֵּ֔נוּ הֶחֱל֥וּ שָׂרִ֖ים חֲמַ֣ת מִיָּ֑יִן מָשַׁ֥ךְ יָד֖וֹ אֶת־לֹצְצִֽים׃
αἱ ἡμέραι τῶν βασιλέων ὑμῶν ἤρξαντο οἱ ἄρχοντες θυμοῦσθαι ἐξ οἴνου ἐξέτεινεν τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ μετὰ λοιμῶν
Dies regis nostri : coeperunt principes furere a vino ; extendit manum suam cum illusoribus.
ወአኀዙ፡ መላእክት፡ ይትመዐዑ፡ እምወይን፡ ወሰፍሑ፡ እደዊሆሙ፡ ምስለ፡ ሥሑጻን፡ ኵላ፡ ሌሊተ።
On the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine. He joined his hand with mockers.
7:6
כִּֽי־קֵרְב֧וּ כַתַּנּ֛וּר לִבָּ֖ם בְּאׇרְבָּ֑ם כׇּל־הַלַּ֙יְלָה֙ יָשֵׁ֣ן אֹֽפֵהֶ֔ם בֹּ֕קֶר ה֥וּא בֹעֵ֖ר כְּאֵ֥שׁ לֶהָבָֽה׃
διότι ἀνεκαύθησαν ὡς κλίβανος αἱ καρδίαι αὐτῶν ἐν τῷ καταράσσειν αὐτούς ὅλην τὴν νύκτα ὕπνου Εφραιμ ἐνεπλήσθη πρωὶ ἐγενήθη ἀνεκαύθη ὡς πυρὸς φέγγος
Quia applicuerunt quasi clibanum cor suum, cum insidiaretur eis ; tota nocte dormivit coquens eos : mane ipse succensus quasi ignis flammae.
ኤፍሬም፡ ጸግበ፡ ወኖመ፡ ኵላ፡ ሌሊተ፡ ወሶበ፡ ይነቅሁ፡ በጽባሕ፡ ነዱ፡ ከመ፡ ነበልባለ፡ እሳት፡ ኵሎሙ።
For they have prepared their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their anger smolders all night. In the morning it burns as a flaming fire.
7:7
כֻּלָּ֤ם יֵחַ֙מּוּ֙ כַּתַּנּ֔וּר וְאָכְל֖וּ אֶת־שֹׁפְטֵיהֶ֑ם כׇּל־מַלְכֵיהֶ֣ם נָפָ֔לוּ אֵין־קֹרֵ֥א בָהֶ֖ם אֵלָֽי׃
πάντες ἐθερμάνθησαν ὡς κλίβανος καὶ κατέφαγον τοὺς κριτὰς αὐτῶν πάντες οἱ βασιλεῖς αὐτῶν ἔπεσαν οὐκ ἦν ὁ ἐπικαλούμενος ἐν αὐτοῖς πρός με
Omnes calefacti sunt quasi clibanus, et devoraverunt judices suos : omnes reges eorum ceciderunt ; non est qui clamat in eis ad me.
ወወዕየ፡ ከመ፡ እቶን፡ ልቦሙ፡ ወበልዐቶሙ፡ እሳት፡ ለመኳንንቲሆሙ። ወወድቁ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ነገሥቶሙ፡ ወአልቦ፡ እንከ፡ እምኔሆሙ፡ ዘይጼውዐኒ።
They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen. There is no one among them who calls to me.
7:8
אֶפְרַ֕יִם בָּעַמִּ֖ים ה֣וּא יִתְבּוֹלָ֑ל אֶפְרַ֛יִם הָיָ֥ה עֻגָ֖ה בְּלִ֥י הֲפוּכָֽה׃
Εφραιμ ἐν τοῖς λαοῖς αὐτοῦ συνανεμείγνυτο Εφραιμ ἐγένετο ἐγκρυφίας οὐ μεταστρεφόμενος
Ephraim in populis ipse commiscebatur ; Ephraim factus est subcinericius panis, qui non reversatur.
ኤፍሬም፡ ተደመረ፡ ምስለ፡ ሕዝቡ፡ ኤፍሬም፡ ኅቡአቲከ፡ ገፍትዐተከ።
Ephraim mixes himself among the nations. Ephraim is a pancake not turned over.
7:9
אָכְל֤וּ זָרִים֙ כֹּח֔וֹ וְה֖וּא לֹ֣א יָדָ֑ע גַּם־שֵׂיבָה֙ זָ֣רְקָה בּ֔וֹ וְה֖וּא לֹ֥א יָדָֽע׃
κατέφαγον ἀλλότριοι τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτοῦ αὐτὸς δὲ οὐκ ἐπέγνω καὶ πολιαὶ ἐξήνθησαν αὐτῷ καὶ αὐτὸς οὐκ ἔγνω
Comederunt alieni robur ejus, et ipse nescivit ; sed et cani effusi sunt in eo, et ipse ignoravit.
ወበልዐ፡ ፀር፡ ኀይሎ፡ ወውእቱሰ፡ ኢያእመረ፡ ወበቈለ፡ ሲበቱሂ፡ ውስተ፡ ገጹ፡ ወዓዲ፡ ኢለበወ።
Strangers have devoured his strength, and he doesn’t realize it. Indeed, gray hairs are here and there on him, and he doesn’t realize it.
7:10
וְעָנָ֥ה גְאֽוֹן־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּפָנָ֑יו וְלֹא־שָׁ֙בוּ֙ אֶל־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם וְלֹ֥א בִקְשֻׁ֖הוּ בְּכׇל־זֹֽאת׃
καὶ ταπεινωθήσεται ἡ ὕβρις Ισραηλ εἰς πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐπέστρεψαν πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεὸν αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ἐξεζήτησαν αὐτὸν ἐν πᾶσι τούτοις
Et humiliabitur superbia Israël in facie ejus ; nec reversi sunt ad Dominum Deum suum, et non quaesierunt eum in omnibus his.
ወያኀስርዎ፡ ወይጼዕልዎ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ቅድመ፡ ገጹ፡ ወኢተመይጡ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላኮሙ፡ ወበዝንቱ፡ ኵሉ፡ ኢኀሠሥዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ አምላኮሙ።
The pride of Israel testifies to his face; yet they haven’t returned to Yahweh their God, nor sought him, for all this.
7:11
וַיְהִ֣י אֶפְרַ֔יִם כְּיוֹנָ֥ה פוֹתָ֖ה אֵ֣ין לֵ֑ב מִצְרַ֥יִם קָרָ֖אוּ אַשּׁ֥וּר הָלָֽכוּ׃
καὶ ἦν Εφραιμ ὡς περιστερὰ ἄνους οὐκ ἔχουσα καρδίαν Αἴγυπτον ἐπεκαλεῖτο καὶ εἰς Ἀσσυρίους ἐπορεύθησαν
Et factus est Ephraim quasi columba seducta non habens cor. Aegyptum invocabant ; ad Assyrios abierunt.
ወኮነ፡ ኤፍሬም፡ አብደ፡ ከመ፡ ርግብ፡ ዘአልቦ፡ ልብ፡ ለግብጽ፡ ይጼውዕዎሙ፡ ወኀበ፡ ፋርስ፡ የሐውሩ።
“Ephraim is like an easily deceived dove, without understanding. They call to Egypt. They go to Assyria.
7:12
כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵלֵ֗כוּ אֶפְר֤וֹשׂ עֲלֵיהֶם֙ רִשְׁתִּ֔י כְּע֥וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם אוֹרִידֵ֑ם אַיְסִירֵ֕ם כְּשֵׁ֖מַע לַעֲדָתָֽם׃ {ס}
καθὼς ἂν πορεύωνται ἐπιβαλῶ ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς τὸ δίκτυόν μου καθὼς τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κατάξω αὐτούς παιδεύσω αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ ἀκοῇ τῆς θλίψεως αὐτῶν
Et cum profecti fuerint, expandam super eos rete meum : quasi volucrem caeli detraham eos ; caedam eos secundum auditionem coetus eorum.
ወበከመ፡ የሐውሩ፡ ከማሁ፡ እዌሩ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ መሥገርትየ፡ ወከመ፡ አዕዋፈ፡ ሰማይ፡ አወርዶሙ፡ ወእቀሥፎሙ፡ እዘኒሆሙ፡ በምንዳቤሆሙ።
When they go, I will spread my net on them. I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.
7:13
א֤וֹי לָהֶם֙ כִּֽי־נָדְד֣וּ מִמֶּ֔נִּי שֹׁ֥ד לָהֶ֖ם כִּי־פָ֣שְׁעוּ בִ֑י וְאָנֹכִ֣י אֶפְדֵּ֔ם וְהֵ֕מָּה דִּבְּר֥וּ עָלַ֖י כְּזָבִֽים׃
οὐαὶ αὐτοῖς ὅτι ἀπεπήδησαν ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ δείλαιοί εἰσιν ὅτι ἠσέβησαν εἰς ἐμέ ἐγὼ δὲ ἐλυτρωσάμην αὐτούς αὐτοὶ δὲ κατελάλησαν κατ’ ἐμοῦ ψεύδη
Vae eis, quoniam recesserunt a me ! vastabuntur, quia praevaricati sunt in me, et ego redemi eos, et ipsi locuti sunt contra me mendacia.
አሌ፡ ሎሙ፡ እስመ፡ ነገዱ፡ እምኔየ፡ ድንጉፃኒሆሙ፡ እሙንቱ፡ እስመ፡ አበሱ፡ ላዕሌየ፡ ወአንሰ፡ አድኀንክዎሙ፡ እሙንቱሰ፡ ሐመዩኒ፡ በሐሰት።
Woe to them! For they have wandered from me. Destruction to them! For they have trespassed against me. Though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
7:14
וְלֹא־זָעֲק֤וּ אֵלַי֙ בְּלִבָּ֔ם כִּ֥י יְיֵלִ֖ילוּ עַל־מִשְׁכְּבוֹתָ֑ם עַל־דָּגָ֧ן וְתִיר֛וֹשׁ יִתְגּוֹרָ֖רוּ יָס֥וּרוּ בִֽי׃
καὶ οὐκ ἐβόησαν πρός με αἱ καρδίαι αὐτῶν ἀλλ’ ἢ ὠλόλυζον ἐν ταῖς κοίταις αὐτῶν ἐπὶ σίτῳ καὶ οἴνῳ κατετέμνοντο ἐπαιδεύθησαν ἐν ἐμοί
Et non clamaverunt ad me in corde suo, sed ululabant in cubilibus suis : super triticum et vinum ruminabant ; recesserunt a me.
ወኢጸርሑ፡ ኀቤየ፡ በልቦሙ፡ ዳእሙ፡ ይግዕሩ፡ ውስተ፡ ምስካቦሙ፡ በእንተ፡ እክል፡ ወወይን፡ ወቅብዕ፡ ወተቀትሉ።
They haven’t cried to me with their heart, but they howl on their beds. They assemble themselves for grain and new wine. They turn away from me.
7:15
וַאֲנִ֣י יִסַּ֔רְתִּי חִזַּ֖קְתִּי זְרוֹעֹתָ֑ם וְאֵלַ֖י יְחַשְּׁבוּ־רָֽע׃
κἀγὼ κατίσχυσα τοὺς βραχίονας αὐτῶν καὶ εἰς ἐμὲ ἐλογίσαντο πονηρά
Et ego erudivi eos, et confortavi brachia eorum, et in me cogitaverunt malitiam.
ወኢተገሠጹ፡ በኀቤየ፡ ወአነ፡ አጽናዕኩ፡ መዝራዕትየ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ ከመ፡ እግበር፡ እኩየ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ።
Though I have taught and strengthened their arms, yet they plot evil against me.
7:16
יָשׁ֣וּבוּ׀ לֹ֣א עָ֗ל הָיוּ֙ כְּקֶ֣שֶׁת רְמִיָּ֔ה יִפְּל֥וּ בַחֶ֛רֶב שָׂרֵיהֶ֖ם מִזַּ֣עַם לְשׁוֹנָ֑ם ז֥וֹ לַעְגָּ֖ם בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
ἀπεστράφησαν εἰς οὐθέν ἐγένοντο ὡς τόξον ἐντεταμένον πεσοῦνται ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ οἱ ἄρχοντες αὐτῶν δῑ ἀπαιδευσίαν γλώσσης αὐτῶν οὗτος ὁ φαυλισμὸς αὐτῶν ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ
Reversi sunt ut essent absque jugo ; facti sunt quasi arcus dolosus : cadent in gladio principes eorum, a furore linguae suae. Ista subsannatio eorum in terra Aegypti.
ወተመይጡ፡ ውስተ፡ ከንቱ፡ ወኮኑ፡ ከመ፡ ቀስት፡ ጠዋይ፡ ወይወድቁ፡ በኵናት፡ መላእክቲሆሙ፡ በእንተ፡ እበደ፡ ልቦሙ፡ ወልሳኖሙ። ከማሁ፡ አበሳሆሙ፡ ወዐመፃሆሙ፡ በምድረ፡ ግብጽ፡ ውስተ፡ ሕፅኖሙ፡ ከመ፡ መሬት።
They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a faulty bow. Their princes will fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.
