17:1
מַשָּׂ֖א דַּמָּ֑שֶׂק הִנֵּ֤ה דַמֶּ֙שֶׂק֙ מוּסָ֣ר מֵעִ֔יר וְהָיְתָ֖ה מְעִ֥י מַפָּלָֽה׃
τὸ ῥῆμα τὸ κατὰ Δαμασκοῦ ἰδοὺ Δαμασκὸς ἀρθήσεται ἀπὸ πόλεων καὶ ἔσται εἰς πτῶσιν
Onus Damasci. Ecce Damascus desinet esse civitas, et erit sicut acervus lapidum in ruina.
ናሁ፡ ትጠፍእ፡ ደማስቆ፡ እምነ፡ አህጉር፡ ወትወድቅ።
The burden of Damascus. “Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.
17:2
עֲזֻב֖וֹת עָרֵ֣י עֲרֹעֵ֑ר לַעֲדָרִ֣ים תִּֽהְיֶ֔ינָה וְרָבְצ֖וּ וְאֵ֥ין מַחֲרִֽיד׃
καταλελειμμένη εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα εἰς κοίτην ποιμνίων καὶ ἀνάπαυσιν καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ διώκων
Derelictae civitates Aroër gregibus erunt, et requiescent ibi, et non erit qui exterreat.
ወትትመዘበር፡ ለዓለም፡ ወተዐርፍ፡ እንከ፡ ውስተ፡ አብያተ፡ ኖሎት፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘይረውድ።
The cities of Aroer are forsaken. They will be for flocks, which shall lie down, and no one shall make them afraid.
17:3
וְנִשְׁבַּ֤ת מִבְצָר֙ מֵאֶפְרַ֔יִם וּמַמְלָכָ֥ה מִדַּמֶּ֖שֶׂק וּשְׁאָ֣ר אֲרָ֑ם כִּכְב֤וֹד בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ יִֽהְי֔וּ נְאֻ֖ם יְהֹוָ֥ה צְבָאֽוֹת׃ {פ}
καὶ οὐκέτι ἔσται ὀχυρὰ τοῦ καταφυγεῖν Εφραιμ καὶ οὐκέτι ἔσται βασιλεία ἐν Δαμασκῷ καὶ τὸ λοιπὸν τῶν Σύρων ἀπολεῖται οὐ γὰρ σὺ βελτίων εἶ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ τῆς δόξης αὐτῶν τάδε λέγει κύριος σαβαωθ
Et cessabit adjutorium ab Ephraim, et regnum a Damasco ; et reliquiae Syriae sicut gloria filiorum Israël erunt, dicit Dominus exercituum.
ወአልባ፡ ጸወነ፡ ኀበ፡ ትጼወን፡ ኤፍሬም፤ ወኢይነግሥ፡ እንከ፡ ንጉሥ፡ በደማስቆ፡ ወእለሂ፡ ተርፉ፡ እምሶርያ፤ ዘአኮ፡ አንተ፡ ትኄይስ፡ እምደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወእምክብሮሙ፤ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ጸባኦት።
The fortress shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria. They will be as the glory of the children of Israel,” says Yahweh of Armies.
17:4
וְהָיָה֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא יִדַּ֖ל כְּב֣וֹד יַעֲקֹ֑ב וּמִשְׁמַ֥ן בְּשָׂר֖וֹ יֵרָזֶֽה׃
ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔκλειψις τῆς δόξης Ιακωβ καὶ τὰ πίονα τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ σεισθήσεται
Et erit in die illa : attenuabitur gloria Jacob, et pinguedo carnis ejus marcescet.
ውእተ፡ አሚረ፡ የኀልቅ፡ ክብሩ፡ ለያዕቆብ፡ ወያድለቀልቅ፡ ዘይበዝኅ፡ ትርሲቱ።
“It will happen in that day that the glory of Jacob will be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh will become lean.
17:5
וְהָיָ֗ה כֶּֽאֱסֹף֙ קָצִ֣יר קָמָ֔ה וּזְרֹע֖וֹ שִׁבֳּלִ֣ים יִקְצ֑וֹר וְהָיָ֛ה כִּמְלַקֵּ֥ט שִׁבֳּלִ֖ים בְּעֵ֥מֶק רְפָאִֽים׃
καὶ ἔσται ὃν τρόπον ἐάν τις συναγάγῃ ἀμητὸν ἑστηκότα καὶ σπέρμα σταχύων ἐν τῷ βραχίονι αὐτοῦ ἀμήσῃ καὶ ἔσται ὃν τρόπον ἐάν τις συναγάγῃ στάχυν ἐν φάραγγι στερεᾷ
Et erit sicut congregans in messe quod restiterit, et brachium ejus spicas leget ; et erit sicut quaerens spicas in valle Raphaim.
ወይከውን፡ ከመ፡ ዘያስተጋብእ፡ ማእረረ፡ ዘበጽሐ፡ ወዘየዐፅድ፡ ዘርኣ፡ ወሰዊተ፤ ወይከውን፡ ከመ፡ ዘያስተጋብእ፡ ሰዊተ፡ ዘበሰለ፡ በውስተ፡ ቈላት።
It will be like when the harvester gathers the wheat, and his arm reaps the grain. Yes, it will be like when one gleans grain in the valley of Rephaim.
17:6
וְנִשְׁאַר־בּ֤וֹ עֽוֹלֵלֹת֙ כְּנֹ֣קֶף זַ֔יִת שְׁנַ֧יִם שְׁלֹשָׁ֛ה גַּרְגְּרִ֖ים בְּרֹ֣אשׁ אָמִ֑יר אַרְבָּעָ֣ה חֲמִשָּׁ֗ה בִּסְעִפֶ֙יהָ֙ פֹּֽרִיָּ֔ה נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
καὶ καταλειφθῇ ἐν αὐτῇ καλάμη ἢ ὡς ῥῶγες ἐλαίας δύο ἢ τρεῖς ἐπ’ ἄκρου μετεώρου ἢ τέσσαρες ἢ πέντε ἐπὶ τῶν κλάδων αὐτῶν καταλειφθῇ τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ
Et relinquetur in eo sicut racemus et sicut excussio oleae duarum vel trium olivarum in summitate rami, sive quatuor aut quinque in cacuminibus ejus fructus ejus, dicit Dominus Deus Israël.
ወይተርፍ፡ ቀሪማ፡ በውስቴታ፤ ወከመ፡ ሕንባባተ፡ ዘይት፡ ክልኤቱ፡ ወእመአኮ፡ ሠላስ፡ በውስተ፡ ርእሰ፡ ነዋኅ፡ ወበውስተ፡ አዕጹቂሃ፣፡ እመአኮ፡ አርባዕ፡ ወእመአኮ፡ ኃምስ፡ ይተርፉ፤ ከመዝ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላከ፡ እስራኤል።
Yet gleanings will be left there, like the shaking of an olive tree, two or three olives in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outermost branches of a fruitful tree,” says Yahweh, the God of Israel.
17:7
בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא יִשְׁעֶ֥ה הָאָדָ֖ם עַל־עֹשֵׂ֑הוּ וְעֵינָ֕יו אֶל־קְד֥וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל תִּרְאֶֽינָה׃
τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ πεποιθὼς ἔσται ἄνθρωπος ἐπὶ τῷ ποιήσαντι αὐτόν οἱ δὲ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν ἅγιον τοῦ Ισραηλ ἐμβλέψονται
In die illa inclinabitur homo ad factorem suum, et oculi ejus ad Sanctum Israël respicient ;
ውእተ፡ ዕለተ፡ ይትዌከል፡ ሰብእ፡ በፈጣሪሁ፡ ወይኔጽራ፡ አዕይንቲሁ፡ ኀበ፡ ቅዱሰ፡ እስራኤል።
In that day, people will look to their Maker, and their eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel.
17:8
וְלֹ֣א יִשְׁעֶ֔ה אֶל־הַֽמִּזְבְּח֖וֹת מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יָדָ֑יו וַאֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשׂ֤וּ אֶצְבְּעֹתָיו֙ לֹ֣א יִרְאֶ֔ה וְהָאֲשֵׁרִ֖ים וְהָחַמָּנִֽים׃ {ס}
καὶ οὐ μὴ πεποιθότες ὦσιν ἐπὶ τοῖς βωμοῖς οὐδὲ ἐπὶ τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν ἃ ἐποίησαν οἱ δάκτυλοι αὐτῶν καὶ οὐκ ὄψονται τὰ δένδρα αὐτῶν οὐδὲ τὰ βδελύγματα αὐτῶν
et non inclinabitur ad altaria quae fecerunt manus ejus ; et quae operati sunt digiti ejus non respiciet lucos et delubra.
ወኢይትአመኑ፡ እንከ፡ በጣዖቶሙ፡ ወኢበግብረ፡ እደዊሆሙ፡ በዘገብራ፡ አፃብዒሆሙ፤ ወኢይገዝሙ፡ ዕፀ፡ ለርኵሶሙ።
They will not look to the altars, the work of their hands; neither shall they respect that which their fingers have made, either the Asherah poles or the incense altars.
17:9
בַּיּ֨וֹם הַה֜וּא יִהְי֣וּ׀ עָרֵ֣י מָעוּזּ֗וֹ כַּעֲזוּבַ֤ת הַחֹ֙רֶשׁ֙ וְהָ֣אָמִ֔יר אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָֽזְב֔וּ מִפְּנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְהָיְתָ֖ה שְׁמָמָֽה׃
τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔσονται αἱ πόλεις σου ἐγκαταλελειμμέναι ὃν τρόπον ἐγκατέλιπον οἱ Αμορραῖοι καὶ οἱ Ευαῖοι ἀπὸ προσώπου τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ καὶ ἔσονται ἔρημοι
In die illa erunt civitates fortitudinis ejus derelictae sicut aratra, et segetes quae derelictae sunt a facie filiorum Israël ; et eris deserta.
ውእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ይከውና፡ መዝብረ፡ አህጉርኪ፡ ከመ፡ መዝብረ፡ አሞሬዎን፡ ወኤዌዎን፡ እምቅድመ፡ ገጾሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወትከውን፡ ገዳመ።
In that day, their strong cities will be like the forsaken places in the woods and on the mountain top, which were forsaken from before the children of Israel; and it will be a desolation.
17:10
כִּ֤י שָׁכַ֙חַתְּ֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׁעֵ֔ךְ וְצ֥וּר מָעֻזֵּ֖ךְ לֹ֣א זָכָ֑רְתְּ עַל־כֵּ֗ן תִּטְּעִי֙ נִטְעֵ֣י נַעֲמָנִ֔ים וּזְמֹ֥רַת זָ֖ר תִּזְרָעֶֽנּוּ׃
διότι κατέλιπες τὸν θεὸν τὸν σωτῆρά σου καὶ κυρίου τοῦ βοηθοῦ σου οὐκ ἐμνήσθης διὰ τοῦτο φυτεύσεις φύτευμα ἄπιστον καὶ σπέρμα ἄπιστον
Quia oblitus es Dei salvatoris tui, et fortis adjutoris tui non es recordata : propterea plantabis plantationem fidelem, et germen alienum seminabis ;
እስመ፡ ኀደጎ፡ ለአምላክከ፡ ወመድኃኒከ፡ ወኢተዘከርኮ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ዘአስተዘከርኮ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ዘአስተርአየከ፤ በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ትተክል፡ ተክለ፡ ሐሰት፡ ወትዘርእ፡ ዘርአ፡ ኃሣር።
For you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not remembered the rock of your strength. Therefore you plant pleasant plants, and set out foreign seedlings.
17:11
בְּי֤וֹם נִטְעֵךְ֙ תְּשַׂגְשֵׂ֔גִי וּבַבֹּ֖קֶר זַרְעֵ֣ךְ תַּפְרִ֑יחִי נֵ֥ד קָצִ֛יר בְּי֥וֹם נַחֲלָ֖ה וּכְאֵ֥ב אָנֽוּשׁ׃ {ס}
τῇ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἂν φυτεύσῃς πλανηθήσῃ τὸ δὲ πρωί ἐὰν σπείρῃς ἀνθήσει εἰς ἀμητὸν ᾗ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ κληρώσῃ καὶ ὡς πατὴρ ἀνθρώπου κληρώσῃ τοῖς υἱοῖς σου
in die plantationis tuae labrusca, et mane semen tuum florebit ; ablata est messis in die haereditatis, et dolebit graviter.
ወአመ፡ ትተክል፡ ትጌጊ፡ ወይፈሪ፡ ዘዘራእከ፡ በጽባሕ፡ በማእረር፡ አመ፡ ዕለተ፡ ታወርስ፤ ወከመ፡ አብ፡ ለወልዱ፣፡ አንተኒ፡ ታወርስ፡ ለደቂቅከ።
In the day of your planting, you hedge it in. In the morning, you make your seed blossom, but the harvest flees away in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.
17:12
ה֗וֹי הֲמוֹן֙ עַמִּ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים כַּהֲמ֥וֹת יַמִּ֖ים יֶהֱמָי֑וּן וּשְׁא֣וֹן לְאֻמִּ֔ים כִּשְׁא֛וֹן מַ֥יִם כַּבִּירִ֖ים יִשָּׁאֽוּן׃
οὐαὶ πλῆθος ἐθνῶν πολλῶν ὡς θάλασσα κυμαίνουσα οὕτως ταραχθήσεσθε καὶ νῶτος ἐθνῶν πολλῶν ὡς ὕδωρ ἠχήσει
Vae multitudini populorum multorum, ut multitudo maris sonantis ; et tumultus turbarum, sicut sonitus aquarum multarum.
አሌ፡ ሎሙ፡ ለብዙኃን፡ አሕዛብ፡ እለ፡ መልኡ፡ ከመ፡ ማዕበለ፡ ባሕር፡ ከማሁ፡ ትትከወሱ፤ ወከወለ፡ ብዙኃን፡ ሕዝበ፡ ከመ፡ ማይ፡ ይደምፁ።
Ah, the uproar of many peoples who roar like the roaring of the seas; and the rushing of nations that rush like the rushing of mighty waters!
17:13
לְאֻמִּ֗ים כִּשְׁא֞וֹן מַ֤יִם רַבִּים֙ יִשָּׁא֔וּן וְגָ֥עַר בּ֖וֹ וְנָ֣ס מִמֶּרְחָ֑ק וְרֻדַּ֗ף כְּמֹ֤ץ הָרִים֙ לִפְנֵי־ר֔וּחַ וּכְגַלְגַּ֖ל לִפְנֵ֥י סוּפָֽה׃
ὡς ὕδωρ πολὺ ἔθνη πολλά ὡς ὕδατος πολλοῦ βίᾳ καταφερομένου καὶ ἀποσκορακιεῖ αὐτὸν καὶ πόρρω αὐτὸν διώξεται ὡς χνοῦν ἀχύρου λικμώντων ἀπέναντι ἀνέμου καὶ ὡς κονιορτὸν τροχοῦ καταιγὶς φέρουσα
Sonabunt populi sicut sonitus aquarum inundantium, et increpabit eum, et fugiet procul ; et rapietur sicut pulvis montium a facie venti, et sicut turbo coram tempestate.
ወከመ፡ ማይ፡ ብዙኅ፡ ከማሁ፡ ብዙኅ፡ ሕዝብ፣፡ ወከመ፡ ውኂዘ፡ ዓቢይ፡ ማይ፡ ዘይወርድ፡ በኃይል፡ እምውስተ፡ መንበሐብሐት፤ ወያጠፍእዎ፡ ወእምርኁቅ፡ ይወርዱ፡ ከመ፡ ጸበለ፡ ሐሠር፡ ዘቅድመ፡ ዐውሎ፡ ዘየሐፍሶ፡ ወከመ፡ ጸበለ፡ ሠረገላ፡ ዘይነሥኦ፡ ነፋስ።
The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters, but he will rebuke them, and they will flee far off, and will be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the whirling dust before the storm.
17:14
לְעֵ֥ת עֶ֙רֶב֙ וְהִנֵּ֣ה בַלָּהָ֔ה בְּטֶ֥רֶם בֹּ֖קֶר אֵינֶ֑נּוּ זֶ֚ה חֵ֣לֶק שׁוֹסֵ֔ינוּ וְגוֹרָ֖ל לְבֹזְזֵֽינוּ׃ {פ}
πρὸς ἑσπέραν ἔσται πένθος πρὶν ἢ πρωὶ καὶ οὐκ ἔσται αὕτη ἡ μερὶς τῶν ὑμᾶς προνομευσάντων καὶ κληρονομία τοῖς ὑμᾶς κληρονομήσασιν
In tempore vespere, et ecce turbatio ; in matutino, et non subsistet. Haec est pars eorum qui vastaverunt nos, et sors diripientium nos.
ፍና፡ ሰርክ፡ ይላሕዉ፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ይጽባሕ፡ ወኢትከውኖሙ።
At evening, behold, terror! Before the morning, they are no more. This is the portion of those who plunder us, and the lot of those who rob us.
