21:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ מַשָּׂ֖א מִדְבַּר ־יָ֑ם כְּסוּפ֤וֹת בַּנֶּ֙גֶב֙ לַחֲלֹ֔ף מִמִּדְבָּ֣ר בָּ֔א מֵאֶ֖רֶץ נוֹרָאָֽה ׃
τὸ ὅραμα τῆς ἐρήμου ὡς καταιγὶς δῑ ἐρήμου διέλθοι ἐξ ἐρήμου ἐρχομένη ἐκ γῆς φοβερὸν
Onus deserti maris . Sicut turbines ab africo veniunt , de deserto venit , de terra horribili .
ከመ ፡ ዐውሎ ፡ እንተ ፡ ገዳም ፡ ኀለፈ ፡ ውስተ ፡ በድው ፡ ወመጽአ ፡ እምብሔር ፡ ግሩም ።
The burden of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the South sweep through, it comes from the wilderness, from an awesome land.
21:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ חָז֥וּת קָשָׁ֖ה הֻגַּד ־לִ֑י הַבּוֹגֵ֤ד ׀בּוֹגֵד֙ וְהַשּׁוֹדֵ֣ד ׀שׁוֹדֵ֔ד עֲלִ֤י עֵילָם֙ צוּרִ֣י מָדַ֔י כׇּל ־אַנְחָתָ֖הֿ הִשְׁבַּֽתִּי ׃
τὸ ὅραμα καὶ σκληρὸν ἀνηγγέλη μοι ὁ ἀθετῶν ἀθετεῖ ὁ ἀνομῶν ἀνομεῖ ἐπ’ ἐμοὶ οἱ Αιλαμῖται καὶ οἱ πρέσβεις τῶν Περσῶν ἐπ’ ἐμὲ ἔρχονται νῦν στενάξω καὶ παρακαλέσω ἐμαυτόν
Visio dura nuntiata est mihi : qui incredulus est infideliter agit ; et qui depopulator est vastat . Ascende , Aelam ; obside , Mede ; omnem gemitum ejus cessare feci .
ዘአስተርአየኒ ፡ ዕጹበ ፡ ዜና ፡ ነገረኒ ፡ በእንቲአሁ ።
A grievous vision is declared to me. The treacherous man deals treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Go up, Elam; attack! I have stopped all of Media’s sighing.
21:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ עַל ־כֵּ֗ן מָלְא֤וּ מׇתְנַי֙ חַלְחָלָ֔ה צִירִ֣ים אֲחָז֔וּנִי כְּצִירֵ֖י יוֹלֵדָ֑ה נַעֲוֵ֣יתִי מִשְּׁמֹ֔עַ נִבְהַ֖לְתִּי מֵרְאֽוֹת ׃
διὰ τοῦτο ἐνεπλήσθη ἡ ὀσφύς μου ἐκλύσεως καὶ ὠδῖνες ἔλαβόν με ὡς τὴν τίκτουσαν ἠδίκησα τὸ μὴ ἀκοῦσαι ἐσπούδασα τὸ μὴ βλέπειν
Propterea repleti sunt lumbi mei dolore ; angustia possedit me sicut angustia parturientis ; corrui cum audirem , conturbatus sum cum viderem .
በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ይቀጸቅጸኒ ፡ ሐቌየ ፡ ወአኀዘኒ ፡ ማሕምም ፡ ከመ ፡ እንተ ፡ ትወልድ ።
Therefore my thighs are filled with anguish. Pains have seized me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am in so much pain that I can’t hear. I am so dismayed that I can’t see.
21:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ תָּעָ֣ה לְבָבִ֔י פַּלָּצ֖וּת בִּֽעֲתָ֑תְנִי אֵ֚ת נֶ֣שֶׁף חִשְׁקִ֔י שָׂ֥ם לִ֖י לַחֲרָדָֽה ׃
ἡ καρδία μου πλανᾶται καὶ ἡ ἀνομία με βαπτίζει ἡ ψυχή μου ἐφέστηκεν εἰς φόβον
Emarcuit cor meum ; tenebrae stupefecerunt me : Babylon dilecta mea posita est mihi in miraculum .
ስሕተ ፡ ልብየ ፡ ወደፈነኒ ፡ ኃጢአትየ ፡ ወደንገፀኒ ፡ ነፍስየ ።
My heart flutters. Horror has frightened me. The twilight that I desired has been turned into trembling for me.
21:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ עָרֹ֧ךְ הַשֻּׁלְחָ֛ן צָפֹ֥ה הַצָּפִ֖ית אָכ֣וֹל שָׁתֹ֑ה ק֥וּמוּ הַשָּׂרִ֖ים מִשְׁח֥וּ מָגֵֽן ׃ {ס}
ἑτοίμασον τὴν τράπεζαν πίετε φάγετε ἀναστάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες ἑτοιμάσατε θυρεούς
Pone mensam , contemplare in specula comedentes et bibentes : surgite , principes , arripite clypeum .
ሥርዑ ፡ ማእደ ፣፡ ብልዑ ፡ ወስትዩ ።
They prepare the table. They set the watch. They eat. They drink. Rise up, you princes, oil the shield!
21:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י כֹ֥ה אָמַ֛ר אֵלַ֖י אֲדֹנָ֑י לֵ֚ךְ הַעֲמֵ֣ד הַֽמְצַפֶּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִרְאֶ֖ה יַגִּֽיד ׃
ὅτι οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος πρός με βαδίσας σεαυτῷ στῆσον σκοπὸν καὶ ὃ ἂν ἴδῃς ἀνάγγειλον
Haec enim dixit mihi Dominus : Vade , et pone speculatorem , et quodcumque viderit annuntiet .
እስመ ፡ ከመዘ ፡ ይቤለኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ሑር ፡ ፍጡነ ፣፡ ፈኑ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ዓይን ፡ ወዘሰማዕከ ፡ ዜኑ ።
For the Lord said to me, “Go, set a watchman. Let him declare what he sees.
21:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְרָ֣אָה רֶ֗כֶב צֶ֚מֶד פָּרָשִׁ֔ים רֶ֥כֶב חֲמ֖וֹר רֶ֣כֶב גָּמָ֑ל וְהִקְשִׁ֥יב קֶ֖שֶׁב רַב ־קָֽשֶׁב ׃
καὶ εἶδον ἀναβάτας ἱππεῖς δύο ἀναβάτην ὄνου καὶ ἀναβάτην καμήλου ἀκρόασαι ἀκρόασιν πολλὴν
Et vidit currum duorum equitum , ascensorem asini , et ascensorem cameli ; et contemplatus est diligenter multo intuitu .
ወርኢኩ ፡ ክልኤተ ፡ መስተፅዕናነ ፡ አፍራስ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይፄዐኑ ፤ አሕዱ ፡ ይፄዐን ፡ አድገ ፡ ወአሐዱ ፡ ይፄዐን ፡ ገመለ ።
When he sees a troop, horsemen in pairs, a troop of donkeys, a troop of camels, he shall listen diligently with great attentiveness.”
21:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקְרָ֖א אַרְיֵ֑ה עַל ־מִצְפֶּ֣ה ׀ אֲדֹנָ֗י אָנֹכִ֞י עֹמֵ֤ד תָּמִיד֙ יוֹמָ֔ם וְעַ֨ל ־מִשְׁמַרְתִּ֔י אָנֹכִ֥י נִצָּ֖ב כׇּל ־הַלֵּילֽוֹת ׃
καὶ κάλεσον Ουριαν εἰς τὴν σκοπιὰν κυρίου καὶ εἶπεν ἔστην διὰ παντὸς ἡμέρας καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς παρεμβολῆς ἔστην ὅλην τὴν νύκτα
Et clamavit leo : Super speculam Domini ego sum , stans jugiter per diem ; et super custodiam meam ego sum , stans totis noctibus .
ወጸውዖ ፡ ለአርያስ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ዓይን ።
He cried like a lion: “Lord, I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime, and every night I stay at my post.
21:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהִנֵּה ־זֶ֥ה בָא֙ רֶ֣כֶב אִ֔ישׁ צֶ֖מֶד פָּרָשִׁ֑ים וַיַּ֣עַן וַיֹּ֗אמֶר נָפְלָ֤ה נָֽפְלָה֙ בָּבֶ֔ל וְכׇל ־פְּסִילֵ֥י אֱלֹהֶ֖יהָ שִׁבַּ֥ר לָאָֽרֶץ ׃
καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς ἔρχεται ἀναβάτης συνωρίδος καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν πέπτωκεν Βαβυλών καὶ πάντα τὰ ἀγάλματα αὐτῆς καὶ τὰ χειροποίητα αὐτῆς συνετρίβησαν εἰς τὴν γῆν
Ecce iste venit ascensor vir bigae equitum ; et respondit , et dixit : Cecidit , cecidit Babylon , et omnia sculptilia deorum ejus contrita sunt in terram .
ወይመጽእ ፡ መስተፅዕን ፡ እምፍኖት ፡ ወተሠጥወኒ ፡ ወይቤ ፤ ወድቀት ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ወተቀጥቀጡ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ጣዖታ ፡ ወግብረ ፡ እደዊሃ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ።
Behold, here comes a troop of men, horsemen in pairs.” He answered, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the engraved images of her gods are broken to the ground.
21:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ מְדֻשָׁתִ֖י וּבֶן ־גׇּרְנִ֑י אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי מֵאֵ֨ת יְהֹוָ֧ה צְבָא֛וֹת אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הִגַּ֥דְתִּי לָכֶֽם ׃ {פ}
ἀκούσατε οἱ καταλελειμμένοι καὶ οἱ ὀδυνώμενοι ἀκούσατε ἃ ἤκουσα παρὰ κυρίου σαβαωθ ὁ θεὸς τοῦ Ισραηλ ἀνήγγειλεν ἡμῖν
Tritura mea et filii areae meae , quae audivi a Domino exercituum , Deo Israël , annuntiavi vobis .
ስምዑ ፡ እለ ፡ ተረፍክሙ ፡ ወእለሂ ፡ ተሐሙ ፣፡ ስምዑ ፡ ዘሰማዕኩ ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸባኦት ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ዘዜነወኒ ።
You are my threshing, and the grain of my floor!” That which I have heard from Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, I have declared to you.
21:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ מַשָּׂ֖א דּוּמָ֑ה אֵלַי֙ קֹרֵ֣א מִשֵּׂעִ֔יר שֹׁמֵר֙ מַה ־מִּלַּ֔יְלָה שֹׁמֵ֖ר מַה ־מִּלֵּֽיל ׃
τὸ ὅραμα τῆς Ιδουμαίας πρὸς ἐμὲ καλεῖ παρὰ τοῦ Σηιρ φυλάσσετε ἐπάλξεις
Onus Duma . Ad me clamat ex Seir : Custos , quid de nocte ? custos , quid de nocte ?
ጸውዖሙ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ እምኀበ ፡ ሴይር ፤ ዕቀቡ ፡ መዓቅብተ ።
The burden of Dumah. One calls to me out of Seir, “Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?”
21:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ אָמַ֣ר שֹׁמֵ֔ר אָתָ֥ה בֹ֖קֶר וְגַם ־לָ֑יְלָה אִם ־תִּבְעָי֥וּן בְּעָ֖יוּ שֻׁ֥בוּ אֵתָֽיוּ ׃ {פ}
φυλάσσω τὸ πρωὶ καὶ τὴν νύκτα ἐὰν ζητῇς ζήτει καὶ παρ’ ἐμοὶ οἴκει
Dixit custos : Venit mane et nox ; si quaeritis , quaerite ; convertimini , venite .
ዕቀቡ ፡ መዓልተ ፡ ወሌሊተ ።
The watchman said, “The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire. Come back again.”
21:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ מַשָּׂ֖א בַּעְרָ֑ב בַּיַּ֤עַר בַּעְרַב֙ תָּלִ֔ינוּ אֹרְח֖וֹת דְּדָנִֽים ׃
ἐν τῷ δρυμῷ ἑσπέρας κοιμηθήσῃ ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ Δαιδαν
Onus in Arabia . In saltu ad vesperam dormietis , in semitis Dedanim .
ወትበይት ፡ ሌሊተ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዖም ፡ በፍኖተ ፡ ዴዳን ።
The burden on Arabia. You will lodge in the thickets in Arabia, you caravans of Dedanites.
21:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ לִקְרַ֥את צָמֵ֖א הֵתָ֣יוּ מָ֑יִם יֹֽשְׁבֵי֙ אֶ֣רֶץ תֵּימָ֔א בְּלַחְמ֖וֹ קִדְּמ֥וּ נֹדֵֽד ׃
εἰς συνάντησιν διψῶντι ὕδωρ φέρετε οἱ ἐνοικοῦντες ἐν χώρᾳ Θαιμαν ἄρτοις συναντᾶτε τοῖς φεύγουσιν
Occurrentes sitienti ferte aquam , qui habitatis terram austri ; cum panibus occurrite fugienti .
በቅድሜሆሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ጸምኡ ፡ ማየ ፡ አምጽኡ ፡ እለ ፡ ትነብሩ ፡ ብሔረ ፡ ቴማን ፣፡ አምጽኡ ፡ እክለ ፡ ወተቀበልዎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ አምሠጡ ።
They brought water to him who was thirsty. The inhabitants of the land of Tema met the fugitives with their bread.
21:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּֽי ־מִפְּנֵ֥י חֲרָב֖וֹת נָדָ֑דוּ מִפְּנֵ֣י ׀ חֶ֣רֶב נְטוּשָׁ֗ה וּמִפְּנֵי֙ קֶ֣שֶׁת דְּרוּכָ֔ה וּמִפְּנֵ֖י כֹּ֥בֶד מִלְחָמָֽה ׃ {ס}
διὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν φευγόντων καὶ διὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν πλανωμένων καὶ διὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῆς μαχαίρας καὶ διὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν τοξευμάτων τῶν διατεταμένων καὶ διὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν πεπτωκότων ἐν τῷ πολέμῳ
A facie enim gladiorum fugerunt , a facie gladii imminentis , a facie arcus extenti , a facie gravis praelii .
እምነ ፡ ብዙኃን ፡ እለ ፡ ተቀትሉ ፤ ወእምነ ፡ ብዙኃን ፡ እለ ፡ ጐዩ ፤ ወእምብዙኃን ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ኵናት ፡ ወእምብዙኃን ፡ ሰብአ ፡ ሐፅ ፡ ወአቅስቲሆሙ ፡ ውሱቃት ፤ ወበእንተ ፡ ብዙኃን ፡ እለ ፡ ወድቁ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ቀትል ።
For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow, and from the heat of battle.
21:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּי ־כֹ֛ה אָמַ֥ר אֲדֹנָ֖י אֵלָ֑י בְּע֤וֹד שָׁנָה֙ כִּשְׁנֵ֣י שָׂכִ֔יר וְכָלָ֖ה כׇּל ־כְּב֥וֹד קֵדָֽר ׃
ὅτι οὕτως εἶπέν μοι κύριος ἔτι ἐνιαυτὸς ὡς ἐνιαυτὸς μισθωτοῦ ἐκλείψει ἡ δόξα τῶν υἱῶν Κηδαρ
Quoniam haec dicit Dominus ad me : Adhuc in uno anno , quasi in anno mercenarii , et auferetur omnis gloria Cedar .
እስመ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤለኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ዓዲ ፡ እምዓመት ፡ እስከ ፡ ዓመተ ፡ ዓሳብ ፡ የኀልቅ ፡ ክብሮሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ቄዳር ።
For the Lord said to me, “Within a year, as a worker bound by contract would count it, all the glory of Kedar will fail,
21:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּשְׁאָ֧ר מִסְפַּר ־קֶ֛שֶׁת גִּבּוֹרֵ֥י בְנֵֽי ־קֵדָ֖ר יִמְעָ֑טוּ כִּ֛י יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽי ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל דִּבֵּֽר ׃ {ס}
καὶ τὸ κατάλοιπον τῶν τοξευμάτων τῶν ἰσχυρῶν υἱῶν Κηδαρ ἔσται ὀλίγον διότι κύριος ἐλάλησεν ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ
Et reliquiae numeri sagittariorum fortium de filiis Cedar imminuentur ; Dominus enim Deus Israël locutus est .
ወእለ ፡ ተርፉ ፡ ነዳፍያን ፡ ወጽኑዓን ፡ እምደቂቀ ፡ ቄዳር ፡ የኀልቁ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክ ፡ እስራኤል ።
and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, will be few; for Yahweh, the God of Israel, has spoken it.”
