41:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֣י ׀ בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י בָּ֣א יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָ֣ה בֶן ־אֱלִישָׁמָ֣ע מִזֶּ֣רַע הַ֠מְּלוּכָ֠ה וְרַבֵּ֨י הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ וַעֲשָׂרָ֨ה אֲנָשִׁ֥ים אִתּ֛וֹ אֶל ־גְּדַלְיָ֥הוּ בֶן ־אֲחִיקָ֖ם הַמִּצְפָּ֑תָה וַיֹּ֨אכְלוּ שָׁ֥ם לֶ֛חֶם יַחְדָּ֖ו בַּמִּצְפָּֽה ׃
ὁ λόγος ὁ γενόμενος πρὸς Ιερεμιαν παρὰ κυρίου καὶ Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ πᾶν τὸ στρατόπεδον αὐτοῦ καὶ πᾶσα ἡ γῆ ἀρχῆς αὐτοῦ ἐπολέμουν ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐπὶ πάσας τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα λέγων
Et factum est in mense septimo , venit Ismahel filius Nathaniae filii Elisama , de semine regali , et optimates regis , et decem viri cum eo , ad Godoliam filium Ahicam , in Masphath , et comederunt ibi panes simul in Masphath .
ወኮነ ፡ በሳብዕ ፡ ወርኅ ፡ መጽአ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ኤሊሲማ ፡ እምዘመደ ፡ ነገሥት ፡ ወመገብተ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወ፲ሰብእ ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ጎዶልያን ፡ ወልደ ፡ አኪቃም ፡ በመሴፋ ፡ ወበልፁ ፡ ህየ ፡ እክለ ፡ ኅቡረ ፡ በመሴፋ ።
Now in the seventh month, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal offspring and one of the chief officers of the king, and ten men with him, came to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they ate bread together in Mizpah.
41:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּ֩קׇם֩ יִשְׁמָעֵ֨אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָ֜ה וַעֲשֶׂ֥רֶת הָאֲנָשִׁ֣ים ׀ אֲשֶׁר ־הָי֣וּ אִתּ֗וֹ וַ֠יַּכּ֠וּ אֶת ־גְּדַלְיָ֨הוּ בֶן ־אֲחִיקָ֧ם בֶּן ־שָׁפָ֛ן בַּחֶ֖רֶב וַיָּ֣מֶת אֹת֑וֹ אֲשֶׁר ־הִפְקִ֥יד מֶלֶךְ ־בָּבֶ֖ל בָּאָֽרֶץ ׃
οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος βάδισον πρὸς Σεδεκιαν βασιλέα Ιουδα καὶ ἐρεῖς αὐτῷ οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος παραδόσει παραδοθήσεται ἡ πόλις αὕτη εἰς χεῖρας βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος καὶ συλλήμψεται αὐτὴν καὶ καύσει αὐτὴν ἐν πυρί
Surrexit autem Ismahel filius Nathaniae , et decem viri qui cum eo erant , et percusserunt Godoliam filium Ahicam filii Saphan gladio , et interfecerunt eum quem praefecerat rex Babylonis terrae .
ወተንሥአ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ፡ ወ፲ዕደው ፡ እለ ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ወቀተልዎ ፡ ለጎዶልያን ፡ ወልደ ፡ አኪቃም ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሳፋን ፡ በመጥባሕት ።
Then Ishmael the son of Nethaniah arose, and the ten men who were with him, and struck Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword and killed him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
41:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאֵ֣ת כׇּל ־הַיְּהוּדִ֗ים אֲשֶׁר ־הָי֨וּ אִתּ֤וֹ אֶת ־גְּדַלְיָ֙הוּ֙ בַּמִּצְפָּ֔ה וְאֶת ־הַכַּשְׂדִּ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִמְצְאוּ ־שָׁ֑ם אֵ֚ת אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה הִכָּ֖ה יִשְׁמָעֵֽאל ׃
καὶ σὺ οὐ μὴ σωθῇς ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ συλλήμψει συλλημφθήσῃ καὶ εἰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ δοθήσῃ καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ ὄψονται καὶ τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ μετὰ τοῦ στόματός σου λαλήσει καὶ εἰς Βαβυλῶνα εἰσελεύσῃ
Omnes quoque Judaeos qui erant cum Godolia in Masphath , et Chaldaeos qui reperti sunt ibi , et viros bellatores , percussit Ismahel .
ወለኵሎሙ ፡ አይሁድ ፡ እለ ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ለጎዶልያን ፡ በመሴፋ ፡ ወለኵሎሙ ፡ ከለዳውያን ፡ እለ ፡ ተረክቡ ፡ በህየ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ ዕደወ ፡ መስተቃትላነ ፡ ቀተለ ፡ ይስማኤል ።
Ishmael also killed all the Jews who were with Gedaliah at Mizpah, and the Chaldean men of war who were found there.
41:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֛י בַּיּ֥וֹם הַשֵּׁנִ֖י לְהָמִ֣ית אֶת ־גְּדַלְיָ֑הוּ וְאִ֖ישׁ לֹ֥א יָדָֽע ׃
ἀλλὰ ἄκουσον τὸν λόγον κυρίου Σεδεκια βασιλεῦ Ιουδα οὕτως λέγει κύριος
Secundo autem die postquam occiderat Godoliam , nullo adhuc sciente ,
ወኮነ ፡ በሳኒታ ፡ ዕለት ፡ እምዘ ፡ ቀተሎ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ለጎዶልያን ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ዘየአምሮ ።
The second day after he had killed Gedaliah, and no man knew it,
41:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ אֲ֠נָשִׁ֠ים מִשְּׁכֶ֞ם מִשִּׁל֤וֹ וּמִשֹּֽׁמְרוֹן֙ שְׁמֹנִ֣ים אִ֔ישׁ מְגֻלְּחֵ֥י זָקָ֛ן וּקְרֻעֵ֥י בְגָדִ֖ים וּמִתְגֹּֽדְדִ֑ים וּמִנְחָ֤ה וּלְבוֹנָה֙ בְּיָדָ֔ם לְהָבִ֖יא בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה ׃
ἐν εἰρήνῃ ἀποθανῇ καὶ ὡς ἔκλαυσαν τοὺς πατέρας σου τοὺς βασιλεύσαντας πρότερόν σου κλαύσονται καὶ σὲ καὶ ὦ αδων κόψονταί σε ὅτι λόγον ἐγὼ ἐλάλησα εἶπεν κύριος
venerunt viri de Sichem , et de Silo , et de Samaria , octoginta viri , rasi barba , et scissis vestibus , et squallentes : et munera et thus habebant in manu , ut offerrent in domo Domini .
ወመጽኡ ፡ ዕደው ፡ እምሴኬም ፡ ወእምሴሎ ፡ ወእምሰማርያ ፡ ፹ዕደው ፡ ልጹያን ፡ አጽሐሚሆሙ ፡ ወሥጡጥ ፡ አልባሲሆሙ ፡ ወልሕዋን ፡ ወመሐና ፡ ወሊባኖስ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደዊሆሙ ፡ ለአብኦ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
men came from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, even eighty men, having their beards shaved and their clothes torn, and having cut themselves, with meal offerings and frankincense in their hand, to bring them to Yahweh’s house.
41:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַ֠יֵּצֵ֠א יִשְׁמָעֵ֨אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָ֤ה לִקְרָאתָם֙ מִן ־הַמִּצְפָּ֔ה הֹלֵ֥ךְ הָלֹ֖ךְ וּבֹכֶ֑ה וַֽיְהִי֙ כִּפְגֹ֣שׁ אֹתָ֔ם וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם בֹּ֖אוּ אֶל ־גְּדַלְיָ֥הוּ בֶן ־אֲחִיקָֽם ׃
καὶ ἐλάλησεν Ιερεμιας πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Σεδεκιαν πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους ἐν Ιερουσαλημ
Egressus ergo Ismahel filius Nathaniae in occursum eorum de Masphath , incedens et plorans ibat : cum autem occurrisset eis , dixit ad eos : Venite ad Godoliam filium Ahicam .
ወወፅአ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትቀበሎሙ ፡ እመሴፋ ፡ ወሖረ ፡ ወይበኪ ፡ እንዘ ፡ የሐውር ፡ ወኮነ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ቀርቦሙ ፡ ይቤሎሙ ፡ ባኡ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ጎዶልያን ፡ ወልደ ፡ አኪቃም ።
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went, and as he met them, he said to them, “Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.”
41:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֕י כְּבוֹאָ֖ם אֶל ־תּ֣וֹךְ הָעִ֑יר וַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֞ם יִשְׁמָעֵ֤אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָה֙ אֶל ־תּ֣וֹךְ הַבּ֔וֹר ה֖וּא וְהָאֲנָשִׁ֥ים אֲשֶׁר ־אִתּֽוֹ ׃
καὶ ἡ δύναμις βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος ἐπολέμει ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα ἐπὶ Λαχις καὶ ἐπὶ Αζηκα ὅτι αὗται κατελείφθησαν ἐν πόλεσιν Ιουδα πόλεις ὀχυραί
Qui cum venissent ad medium civitatis , interfecit eos Ismahel filius Nathaniae circa medium laci , ipse et viri qui erant cum eo .
ወኮነ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ቦኡ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ሀገር ፡ ቀተሎሙ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ፡ ወወረውዎሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ግበ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወዕደው ፡ እለ ፡ ምስሌሁ ።
It was so, when they came into the middle of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah killed them, and cast them into the middle of the pit, he, and the men who were with him.
41:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַעֲשָׂרָ֨ה אֲנָשִׁ֜ים נִמְצְאוּ ־בָ֗ם וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ אֶל ־יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ אַל ־תְּמִתֵ֔נוּ כִּֽי ־יֶשׁ ־לָ֤נוּ מַטְמֹנִים֙ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה חִטִּ֥ים וּשְׂעֹרִ֖ים וְשֶׁ֣מֶן וּדְבָ֑שׁ וַיֶּחְדַּ֕ל וְלֹ֥א הֱמִיתָ֖ם בְּת֥וֹךְ אֲחֵיהֶֽם ׃
ὁ λόγος ὁ γενόμενος πρὸς Ιερεμιαν παρὰ κυρίου μετὰ τὸ συντελέσαι τὸν βασιλέα Σεδεκιαν διαθήκην πρὸς τὸν λαὸν τοῦ καλέσαι ἄφεσιν
Decem autem viri reperti sunt inter eos , qui dixerunt ad Ismahel : Noli occidere nos , quia habemus thesauros in agro , frumenti , et hordei , et olei , et mellis : et cessavit , et non interfecit eos cum fratribus suis .
ወዐሠርቱ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ እለ ፡ ተረክቡ ፡ በህየ ፡ ይቤልዎ ፡ ለይስማኤል ፡ ኢትቅትለነ ፡ እስመ ፡ ብነ ፡ መዝገብ ፡ በሐቅል ፡ ስርናይ ፡ ወስገም ፡ ወመዐር ፡ ወቅብእ ።
But ten men were found among those who said to Ishmael, “Don’t kill us; for we have stores hidden in the field, of wheat, and of barley, and of oil, and of honey.” So he stopped, and didn’t kill them among their brothers.
41:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהַבּ֗וֹר אֲשֶׁר֩ הִשְׁלִ֨יךְ שָׁ֤ם יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ אֵ֣ת ׀ כׇּל ־פִּגְרֵ֣י הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֤ר הִכָּה֙ בְּיַד ־גְּדַלְיָ֔הוּ ה֗וּא אֲשֶׁ֤ר עָשָׂה֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ אָסָ֔א מִפְּנֵ֖י בַּעְשָׁ֣א מֶלֶךְ ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֹת֗וֹ מִלֵּ֛א יִשְׁמָעֵ֥אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָ֖הוּ חֲלָלִֽים ׃
τοῦ ἐξαποστεῖλαι ἕκαστον τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστον τὴν παιδίσκην αὐτοῦ τὸν Εβραῖον καὶ τὴν Εβραίαν ἐλευθέρους πρὸς τὸ μὴ δουλεύειν ἄνδρα ἐξ Ιουδα
Lacus autem in quem projecerat Ismahel omnia cadavera virorum quos percussit propter Godoliam , ipse est quem fecit rex Asa propter Baasa regem Israël : ipsum replevit Ismahel filius Nathaniae occisis .
ወዘወገረ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ አብድንቲሆሙ ፡ ለዕደው ፡ እለ ፡ ተቀትሉ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ጎዶልያን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ግብ ፡ ዓቢይ ፡ ውእቱኬ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ዓሣ ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ በአስ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ዘንተ ፡ መልአ ፡ ወፈጸመ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ፡ ቅቱላነ ።
Now the pit in which Ishmael cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had killed, by the side of Gedaliah (this was that which Asa the king had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel), Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with those who were killed.
41:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּ֣שְׁבְּ ׀יִ֠שְׁמָעֵ֠אל אֶת ־כׇּל ־שְׁאֵרִ֨ית הָעָ֜ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּמִּצְפָּ֗ה אֶת ־בְּנ֤וֹת הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְאֶת ־כׇּל ־הָעָם֙ הַנִּשְׁאָרִ֣ים בַּמִּצְפָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִפְקִ֗יד נְבֽוּזַרְאֲדָן֙ רַב ־טַבָּחִ֔ים אֶת ־גְּדַלְיָ֖הוּ בֶּן ־אֲחִיקָ֑ם וַיִּשְׁבֵּם֙ יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָ֔ה וַיֵּ֕לֶךְ לַעֲבֹ֖ר אֶל ־בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐπεστράφησαν πάντες οἱ μεγιστᾶνες καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς οἱ εἰσελθόντες ἐν τῇ διαθήκῃ τοῦ ἀποστεῖλαι ἕκαστον τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστον τὴν παιδίσκην αὐτοῦ
Et captivas duxit Ismahel omnes reliquias populi qui erant in Masphath , filias regis , et universum populum qui remanserat in Masphath , quos commendaverat Nabuzardan princeps militiae , Godoliae filio Ahicam : et cepit eos Ismahel filius Nathaniae , et abiit ut transiret ad filios Ammon .
ወሜጠ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ተራፍያነ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ መሴፋ ፡ ወአዋልደ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ እለ ፡ ተርፋ ፡ በመሴፋ ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ዘአዕቀቦ ፡ ናቡዛርዳን ፡ ሊቀ ፡ መበስላን ፡ ለጎዶልያን ፡ ወልደ ፡ አኪቃም ፡ ወጌሠ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ፡ ወመጽአ ፡ ለዐዲው ፡ ኀበ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ አሞን ።
Then Ishmael carried away captive all of the people who were left in Mizpah, even the king’s daughters, and all the people who remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam. Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the children of Ammon.
41:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּשְׁמַע֙ יוֹחָנָ֣ן בֶּן ־קָרֵ֔חַ וְכׇל ־שָׂרֵ֥י הַחֲיָלִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתּ֑וֹ אֵ֤ת כׇּל ־הָרָעָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה יִשְׁמָעֵ֖אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָֽה ׃
καὶ ἔωσαν αὐτοὺς εἰς παῖδας καὶ παιδίσκας
Audivit autem Johanan filius Caree , et omnes principes bellatorum qui erant cum eo , omne malum quod fecerat Ismahel filius Nathaniae ,
ወሰምዐ ፡ ዮሐናን ፡ ወልደ ፡ ቃርሔ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ መላእክተ ፡ ኃይሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ።
But when Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done,
41:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקְחוּ֙ אֶת ־כׇּל ־הָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔ים וַיֵּ֣לְכ֔וּ לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם עִם ־יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָ֑ה וַיִּמְצְא֣וּ אֹת֔וֹ אֶל ־מַ֥יִם רַבִּ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּגִבְעֽוֹן ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν λέγων
et assumptis universis viris , profecti sunt ut bellarent adversum Ismahel filium Nathaniae : et invenerunt eum ad aquas multas quae sunt in Gabaon .
ወአስተጋብኡ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ሠራዊተ ፡ ወሖሩ ፡ ይትቃተሉ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ፡ ወረከቦ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ማይ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ በገባኦን ።
then they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon.
41:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֗י כִּרְא֤וֹת כׇּל ־הָעָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֶת ־יִשְׁמָעֵ֔אל אֶת ־יֽוֹחָנָן֙ בֶּן ־קָרֵ֔חַ וְאֵ֛ת כׇּל ־שָׂרֵ֥י הַחֲיָלִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתּ֑וֹ וַיִּשְׂמָֽחוּ ׃
οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἐγὼ ἐθέμην διαθήκην πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἐξειλάμην αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας λέγων
Cumque vidisset omnis populus qui erat cum Ismahel Johanan filium Caree , et universos principes bellatorum qui erant cum eo , laetati sunt :
ወኮነ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ርእዩ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘምስሌሁ ፡ ለእስማኤል ፡ ዮሐናንሃ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ቃርሔ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ ሠራዊተ ፡ ዘምስሌሁ ፡ ወተፈሥሑ ።
Now when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, then they were glad.
41:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיָּסֹ֙בּוּ֙ כׇּל ־הָעָ֔ם אֲשֶׁר ־שָׁבָ֥ה יִשְׁמָעֵ֖אל מִן ־הַמִּצְפָּ֑ה וַיָּשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ וַיֵּ֣לְכ֔וּ אֶל ־יוֹחָנָ֖ן בֶּן ־קָרֵֽחַ ׃
ὅταν πληρωθῇ ἓξ ἔτη ἀποστελεῖς τὸν ἀδελφόν σου τὸν Εβραῖον ὃς πραθήσεταί σοι καὶ ἐργᾶταί σοι ἓξ ἔτη καὶ ἐξαποστελεῖς αὐτὸν ἐλεύθερον καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσάν μου καὶ οὐκ ἔκλιναν τὸ οὖς αὐτῶν
et reversus est omnis populus quem ceperat Ismahel , in Masphath , reversusque abiit ad Johanan filium Caree .
ወተመይጡ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘፄወወ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ እመሴፋ ፡ ወገብኡ ፡ ወሖሩ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ዮሐናን ፡ ወልደ ፡ ቃርሔ ።
So all the people who Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah turned about and came back, and went to Johanan the son of Kareah.
41:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְיִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָ֗ה נִמְלַט֙ בִּשְׁמֹנָ֣ה אֲנָשִׁ֔ים מִפְּנֵ֖י יוֹחָנָ֑ן וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ אֶל ־בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן ׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν σήμερον ποιῆσαι τὸ εὐθὲς πρὸ ὀφθαλμῶν μου τοῦ καλέσαι ἄφεσιν ἕκαστον τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ συνετέλεσαν διαθήκην κατὰ πρόσωπόν μου ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ οὗ ἐπεκλήθη τὸ ὄνομά μου ἐπ’ αὐτῷ
Ismahel autem filius Nathaniae fugit cum octo viris a facie Johanan , et abiit ad filios Ammon .
ወይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ፡ ድኅነ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ፰ዕደው ፡ እምገጸ ፡ ዮሐናን ፡ ወዐደዉ ፡ ኀብ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ አሞን ።
But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the children of Ammon.
41:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיִּקַּח֩ יוֹחָנָ֨ן בֶּן ־קָרֵ֜חַ וְכׇל ־שָׂרֵ֧י הַחֲיָלִ֣ים אֲשֶׁר ־אִתּ֗וֹ אֵ֣ת כׇּל ־שְׁאֵרִ֤ית הָעָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הֵ֠שִׁ֠יב מֵאֵ֨ת יִשְׁמָעֵ֤אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָה֙ מִן ־הַמִּצְפָּ֔ה אַחַ֣ר הִכָּ֔ה אֶת ־גְּדַלְיָ֖ה בֶּן ־אֲחִיקָ֑ם גְּבָרִ֞ים אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַמִּלְחָמָ֗ה וְנָשִׁ֤ים וְטַף֙ וְסָ֣רִסִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֵשִׁ֖יב מִגִּבְעֽוֹן ׃
καὶ ἐπεστρέψατε καὶ ἐβεβηλώσατε τὸ ὄνομά μου τοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι ἕκαστον τὸν παῖδα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστον τὴν παιδίσκην αὐτοῦ οὓς ἐξαπεστείλατε ἐλευθέρους τῇ ψυχῇ αὐτῶν ὑμῖν εἰς παῖδας καὶ παιδίσκας
Tulit ergo Johanan filius Caree , et omnes principes bellatorum qui erant cum eo , universas reliquias vulgi quas reduxerat ab Ismahel filio Nathaniae de Masphath , postquam percussit Godoliam filium Ahicam : fortes viros ad praelium , et mulieres , et pueros , et eunuchos , quos reduxerat de Gabaon .
ወነሥአ ፡ ዮሐንን ፡ ወልደ ፡ ቃርሔ ፡ ወኵሎሙ ፡ ሠራዊተ ፡ ኃይሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ምስሌሁ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ተርፋ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ እለ ፡ ገብኡ ፡ እምኀበ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ፡ እመሴፋ ፡ እምድኅረ ፡ ቀተሎ ፡ ለጎዶልያን ፡ ወልደ ፡ አኪቃም ፡ ዕደው ፡ ኃያላን ፡ መስተቃላን ፡ ወአንስቶሙ ፡ ወሕፃናቲሆሙ ፡ ወሕፅዋን ፡ እለ ፡ ገብኡ ፡ እምገባኦን ።
Then Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces who were with him took all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after he had killed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam—the men of war, with the women, the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gibeon.
41:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֵּלְכ֗וּ וַיֵּֽשְׁבוּ֙ בְּגֵר֣וּת (כמוהם ) [כִּמְהָ֔ם ] אֲשֶׁר ־אֵ֖צֶל בֵּ֣ית לָ֑חֶם לָלֶ֖כֶת לָב֥וֹא מִצְרָֽיִם ׃
διὰ τοῦτο οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὑμεῖς οὐκ ἠκούσατέ μου τοῦ καλέσαι ἄφεσιν ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καλῶ ἄφεσιν ὑμῖν εἰς μάχαιραν καὶ εἰς τὸν θάνατον καὶ εἰς τὸν λιμὸν καὶ δώσω ὑμᾶς εἰς διασπορὰν πάσαις ταῖς βασιλείαις τῆς γῆς
Et abierunt , et sederunt peregrinantes in Chamaam , quae est juxta Bethlehem , ut pergerent , et introirent Aegyptum ,
ወሖሩ ፡ ወነበሩውስተ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ቤሮካማሐ ፡ ዘቅሩብ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ልሔም ፡ ከመ ፡ ይሑሩ ፡ ወይባኡ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ግብጽ ።
They departed and lived in Geruth Chimham, which is by Bethlehem, to go to enter into Egypt
41:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ מִפְּנֵי֙ הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים כִּ֥י יָֽרְא֖וּ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם כִּֽי ־הִכָּ֞ה יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל בֶּן ־נְתַנְיָ֗ה אֶת ־גְּדַלְיָ֙הוּ֙ בֶּן ־אֲחִיקָ֔ם אֲשֶׁר ־הִפְקִ֥יד מֶלֶךְ ־בָּבֶ֖ל בָּאָֽרֶץ ׃ {פ}
καὶ δώσω τοὺς ἄνδρας τοὺς παρεληλυθότας τὴν διαθήκην μου τοὺς μὴ στήσαντας τὴν διαθήκην μου ἣν ἐποίησαν κατὰ πρόσωπόν μου τὸν μόσχον ὃν ἐποίησαν ἐργάζεσθαι αὐτῷ
a facie Chaldaeorum : timebant enim eos , quia percusserat Ismahel filius Nathaniae Godoliam filium Ahicam , quem praeposuerat rex Babylonis in terra Juda .
እምገጸ ፡ ከለዳውያን ፡ እስመ ፡ ፈርሁ ፡ እምገጾሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ ቀተለ ፡ ይስማኤል ፡ ወልደ ፡ ናታንዩ ፡ ጎዶልያንሃ ፡ ወልደ ፡ አኪቃም ፡ ዘሤሞ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ በምድር ።
because of the Chaldeans; for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had killed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor over the land.
41:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ — τοὺς ἄρχοντας Ιουδα καὶ τοὺς δυνάστας καὶ τοὺς ἱερεῖς καὶ τὸν λαόν
— — the rulers of Judah and the sovereigns and the priests and the people;
41:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ — καὶ δώσω αὐτοὺς τοῖς ἐχθροῖς αὐτῶν καὶ ἔσται τὰ θνησιμαῖα αὐτῶν βρῶσις τοῖς πετεινοῖς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τοῖς θηρίοις τῆς γῆς
— — and I will give them over to their enemies, and their corpses shall be food for the birds of the sky and for the beasts of the earth.
41:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ — καὶ τὸν Σεδεκιαν βασιλέα τῆς Ιουδαίας καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας αὐτῶν δώσω εἰς χεῖρας ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν καὶ δύναμις βασιλέως Βαβυλῶνος τοῖς ἀποτρέχουσιν ἀπ’ αὐτῶν
— — And Sedekias king of Judea and their rulers I will give into the hands of their enemies; and the force of the king of Babylon to those who are withdrawing from them.
41:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ — ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ συντάσσω φησὶν κύριος καὶ ἐπιστρέψω αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γῆν ταύτην καὶ πολεμήσουσιν ἐπ’ αὐτὴν καὶ λήμψονται αὐτὴν καὶ κατακαύσουσιν αὐτὴν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα καὶ δώσω αὐτὰς ἐρήμους ἀπὸ κατοικούντων
— — Behold, I am giving orders, says the Lord, and I will bring them back to this land, and they shall fight against it and shall take it and shall burn it with fire; and the cities of Judah I will make desolate, without inhabitants.
