50:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶל ־בָּבֶ֖ל אֶל ־אֶ֣רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים בְּיַ֖ד יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ הַנָּבִֽיא ׃
καὶ ἐγενήθη ὡς ἐπαύσατο Ιερεμιας λέγων πρὸς τὸν λαὸν πάντας τοὺς λόγους κυρίου οὓς ἀπέστειλεν αὐτὸν κύριος πρὸς αὐτούς πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους
Verbum quod locutus est Dominus de Babylone et de terra Chaldaeorum , in manu Jeremiae prophetae .
ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘነበበ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ኀበ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ከላዴዎን ፡ በእደ ፡ ኤርምያስ ፡ ነቢይ ።
The word that Yahweh spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet.
50:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ הַגִּ֨ידוּ בַגּוֹיִ֤ם וְהַשְׁמִ֙יעוּ֙ וּֽשְׂאוּ ־נֵ֔ס הַשְׁמִ֖יעוּ אַל ־תְּכַחֵ֑דוּ אִמְרוּ֩ נִלְכְּדָ֨ה בָבֶ֜ל הֹבִ֥ישׁ בֵּל֙ חַ֣ת מְרֹדָ֔ךְ הֹבִ֣ישׁוּ עֲצַבֶּ֔יהָ חַ֖תּוּ גִּלּוּלֶֽיהָ ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Αζαριας υἱὸς Μαασαιου καὶ Ιωαναν υἱὸς Καρηε καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ εἴπαντες τῷ Ιερεμια λέγοντες ψεύδη οὐκ ἀπέστειλέν σε κύριος πρὸς ἡμᾶς λέγων μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς Αἴγυπτον οἰκεῖν ἐκεῖ
Annuntiate in gentibus , et auditum facite : levate signum , praedicate , et nolite celare : dicite : Capta est Babylon , confusus est Bel , victus est Merodach , confusa sunt sculptilia ejus , superata sunt idola eorum .
ንግርዎሙ ፡ ለአሕዛብ ፡ ወአስምዑ ፡ ወአንሥኡ ፡ ትእምርተ ፡ ወኢትክብቱ ።
“Declare among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and don’t conceal; say, ‘Babylon has been taken, Bel is disappointed, Merodach is dismayed! Her images are disappointed. Her idols are dismayed.’
50:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י עָלָה֩ עָלֶ֨יהָ גּ֜וֹי מִצָּפ֗וֹן הֽוּא ־יָשִׁ֤ית אֶת ־אַרְצָהּ֙ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה וְלֹא ־יִהְיֶ֥ה יוֹשֵׁ֖ב בָּ֑הּ מֵאָדָ֥ם וְעַד ־בְּהֵמָ֖ה נָ֥דוּ הָלָֽכוּ ׃
ἀλλ’ ἢ Βαρουχ υἱὸς Νηριου συμβάλλει σε πρὸς ἡμᾶς ἵνα δῷς ἡμᾶς εἰς χεῖρας τῶν Χαλδαίων τοῦ θανατῶσαι ἡμᾶς καὶ ἀποικισθῆναι ἡμᾶς εἰς Βαβυλῶνα
Quoniam ascendit contra eam gens ab aquilone , quae ponet terram ejus in solitudinem , et non erit qui habitet in ea ab homine usque ad pecus : et moti sunt , et abierunt .
እስመ ፡ ዐርጉ ፡ ላዕሌሃ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘእምሰሜን ።
For a nation comes up out of the north against her, which will make her land desolate, and no one will dwell in it. They have fled. They are gone, both man and animal.
50:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ בַּיָּמִ֨ים הָהֵ֜מָּה וּבָעֵ֤ת הַהִיא֙ נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָ֔ה יָבֹ֧אוּ בְנֵי ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל הֵ֥מָּה וּבְנֵי ־יְהוּדָ֖ה יַחְדָּ֑ו הָל֤וֹךְ וּבָכוֹ֙ יֵלֵ֔כוּ וְאֶת ־יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֖ם יְבַקֵּֽשׁוּ ׃
καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν Ιωαναν καὶ πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου κατοικῆσαι ἐν γῇ Ιουδα
In diebus illis , et in tempore illo , ait Dominus , venient filii Israël ipsi et filii Juda simul : ambulantes et flentes properabunt , et Dominum Deum suum quaerent :
ውእተ ፡ አሚረ ፡ ወበእማንቱ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይመጽኡ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እሙንቲሂ ፡ ወደቂቀ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ኅቡረ ፡ የሐውሩ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይበክዩ ፡ የኀሥሥዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኮሙ ።
“In those days, and in that time,” says Yahweh, “the children of Israel will come, they and the children of Judah together; they will go on their way weeping, and will seek Yahweh their God.
50:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ צִיּ֣וֹן יִשְׁאָ֔לוּ דֶּ֖רֶךְ הֵ֣נָּה פְנֵיהֶ֑ם בֹּ֚אוּ וְנִלְו֣וּ אֶל ־יְהֹוָ֔ה בְּרִ֥ית עוֹלָ֖ם לֹ֥א תִשָּׁכֵֽחַ ׃
καὶ ἔλαβεν Ιωαναν καὶ πάντες οἱ ἡγεμόνες τῆς δυνάμεως πάντας τοὺς καταλοίπους Ιουδα τοὺς ἀποστρέψαντας κατοικεῖν ἐν τῇ γῇ
in Sion interrogabunt viam , huc facies eorum : venient , et apponentur ad Dominum foedere sempiterno , quod nulla oblivione delebitur .
ጽዮንሃ ፡ የሐትቱ ፡ ፍኖቶ ፡ ወገጾሙ ፡ ለፌ ፡ ይመይጢ ፡ ወይነጽኡ ፡ ወይትመሐፀኑ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኮሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኪዳን ፡ ዘለዓለም ፡ ኢይትረሳዕ ።
They will inquire concerning Zion with their faces turned toward it, saying, ‘Come, and join yourselves to Yahweh in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.’
50:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ צֹ֤אן אֹֽבְדוֹת֙ (היה ) [הָי֣וּ ] עַמִּ֔י רֹעֵיהֶ֣ם הִתְע֔וּם הָרִ֖ים (שובבים ) [שׁוֹבְב֑וּם ] מֵהַ֤ר אֶל ־גִּבְעָה֙ הָלָ֔כוּ שָׁכְח֖וּ רִבְצָֽם ׃
τοὺς δυνατοὺς ἄνδρας καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας καὶ τὰ νήπια καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ τὰς ψυχάς ἃς κατέλιπεν Ναβουζαρδαν μετὰ Γοδολιου υἱοῦ Αχικαμ καὶ Ιερεμιαν τὸν προφήτην καὶ Βαρουχ υἱὸν Νηριου
Grex perditus factus est populus meus : pastores eorum seduxerunt eos , feceruntque vagari in montibus : de monte in collem transierunt ; obliti sunt cubilis sui .
አባግዓ ፡ ግዱፋነ ፡ ኮኑ ፡ ሕዝብየ ፡ ኖሎቶሙ ፡ አንጎገውዎሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አድባር ፡ ወገደፍዎሙ ፡ ወአንጎገዉ ፡ እምደብር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ወግርሖሩ ፡ ወረስዑ ፡ ማኅደሮሙ ።
My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have caused them to go astray. They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill. They have forgotten their resting place.
50:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ כׇּל ־מוֹצְאֵיהֶ֣ם אֲכָל֔וּם וְצָרֵיהֶ֥ם אָמְר֖וּ לֹ֣א נֶאְשָׁ֑ם תַּ֗חַת אֲשֶׁ֨ר חָטְא֤וּ לַֽיהֹוָה֙ נְוֵה ־צֶ֔דֶק וּמִקְוֵ֥ה אֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם יְהֹוָֽה ׃ {ס}
καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς Αἴγυπτον ὅτι οὐκ ἤκουσαν τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς Ταφνας
Omnes qui invenerunt comederunt eos , et hostes eorum dixerunt : Non peccavimus : pro eo quod peccaverunt Domino decori justitiae , et exspectationi patrum eorum Domino .
ኵሉ ፡ ዘረከበ ፡ የኀልቆሙ ።
All who found them have devoured them. Their adversaries said, ‘We are not guilty, because they have sinned against Yahweh, the habitation of righteousness, even Yahweh, the hope of their fathers.’
50:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ נֻ֚דוּ מִתּ֣וֹךְ בָּבֶ֔ל וּמֵאֶ֥רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֖ים (יצאו ) [צֵ֑אוּ ] וִֽהְי֕וּ כְּעַתּוּדִ֖ים לִפְנֵי ־צֹֽאן ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ιερεμιαν ἐν Ταφνας λέγων
Recedite de medio Babylonis , et de terra Chaldaeorum egredimini , et estote quasi haedi ante gregem .
ፃኡ ፡ እማእከለ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ወእምድረ ፡ ፋርስ ፡ ይወፅኡ ፡ ወይከውኑ ፡ ከመ ፡ አክይስት ፡ በቅድመ ፡ ገጸ ፡ አባግዕ ።
“Flee out of the middle of Babylon! Go out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the male goats before the flocks.
50:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֣י הִנֵּ֣ה אָנֹכִ֡י מֵעִיר֩ וּמַעֲלֶ֨ה עַל ־בָּבֶ֜ל קְהַל ־גּוֹיִ֤ם גְּדֹלִים֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ צָפ֔וֹן וְעָ֣רְכוּ לָ֔הּ מִשָּׁ֖ם תִּלָּכֵ֑ד חִצָּיו֙ כְּגִבּ֣וֹר מַשְׁכִּ֔יל לֹ֥א יָשׁ֖וּב רֵיקָֽם ׃
λαβὲ σεαυτῷ λίθους μεγάλους καὶ κατάκρυψον αὐτοὺς ἐν προθύροις ἐν πύλῃ τῆς οἰκίας Φαραω ἐν Ταφνας κατ’ ὀφθαλμοὺς ἀνδρῶν Ιουδα
Quoniam ecce ego suscito , et adducam in Babylonem congregationem gentium magnarum de terra aquilonis , et praeparabuntur adversus eam , et inde capietur : sagitta ejus quasi viri fortis interfectoris : non revertetur vacua .
እስመ ፡ ናሁ ፡ አነሥእ ፡ ወአዐርግ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ሠራዊተ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ዓበይተ ፡ እምድረ ፡ ሰሜን ፡ ወይትቃተልዋ ፡ በህየ ፡ ወይእኅዝዎሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሐፀ ፡ መስተቃትል ፡ ነዳፊ ፡ ዘኢይሰወጥ ፡ ዕራቁ ።
For, behold, I will stir up and cause to come up against Babylon a company of great nations from the north country; and they will set themselves in array against her. She will be taken from there. Their arrows will be as of an expert mighty man. None of them will return in vain.
50:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיְתָ֥ה כַשְׂדִּ֖ים לְשָׁלָ֑ל כׇּל ־שֹׁלְלֶ֥יהָ יִשְׂבָּ֖עוּ נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָֽה ׃
καὶ ἐρεῖς οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω καὶ ἄξω Ναβουχοδονοσορ βασιλέα Βαβυλῶνος καὶ θήσει αὐτοῦ τὸν θρόνον ἐπάνω τῶν λίθων τούτων ὧν κατέκρυψας καὶ ἀρεῖ τὰ ὅπλα αὐτοῦ ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς
Et erit Chaldaea in praedam : omnes vastantes eam replebuntur , ait Dominus .
ወይትበረበሩ ፡ ፋርስ ፡ ወኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ማህረኩኪ ፡ ይጸግቡ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Chaldea will be a prey. All who prey on her will be satisfied,” says Yahweh.
50:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּ֤י (תשמחי ) [תִשְׂמְחוּ֙ ] כִּ֣י (תעלזי ) [תַעַלְז֔וּ ] שֹׁסֵ֖י נַחֲלָתִ֑י כִּ֤י (תפושי ) [תָפ֙וּשׁוּ֙ ] כְּעֶגְלָ֣ה דָשָׁ֔ה (ותצהלי ) [וְתִצְהֲל֖וּ ] כָּאַבִּרִֽים ׃
καὶ εἰσελεύσεται καὶ πατάξει γῆν Αἰγύπτου οὓς εἰς θάνατον εἰς θάνατον καὶ οὓς εἰς ἀποικισμόν εἰς ἀποικισμόν καὶ οὕς εἰς ῥομφαίαν εἰς ῥομφαίαν
Quoniam exsultatis , et magna loquimini , diripientes haereditatem meam : quoniam effusi estis sicut vituli super herbam , et mugistis sicut tauri :
እስመ ፡ ተፈሣሕክሙ ፡ ወተቈናደይክሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ ፄወውክምዎሙ ፡ ለርስትየ ፡ እስመ ፡ ፈሐልኪ ፡ ከመ ፡ እጐልት ፡ በኀበ ፡ ምቅምሕ ፡ ወወጋእኪዮሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ አሥዋር ።
“Because you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage, because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out the grain, and neigh as strong horses,
50:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ בּ֤וֹשָׁה אִמְּכֶם֙ מְאֹ֔ד חָפְרָ֖ה יוֹלַדְתְּכֶ֑ם הִנֵּה֙ אַחֲרִ֣ית גּוֹיִ֔ם מִדְבָּ֖ר צִיָּ֥ה וַעֲרָבָֽה ׃
καὶ καύσει πῦρ ἐν οἰκίαις θεῶν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐμπυριεῖ αὐτὰς καὶ ἀποικιεῖ αὐτοὺς καὶ φθειριεῖ γῆν Αἰγύπτου ὥσπερ φθειρίζει ποιμὴν τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξελεύσεται ἐν εἰρήνῃ
confusa est mater vestra nimis , et adaequata pulveri , quae genuit vos : ecce novissima erit in gentibus , deserta , invia , et arens .
ተኀፍረት ፡ እምክሙ ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ወተኀፍረት ፡ ወላዲትክሙ ፡ ናሁ ፡ አኀሪተ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ማሰነት ፡ ወበድወት ፡ ወመዝበረት ።
your mother will be utterly disappointed. She who bore you will be confounded. Behold, she will be the least of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
50:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ מִקֶּ֤צֶף יְהֹוָה֙ לֹ֣א תֵשֵׁ֔ב וְהָיְתָ֥ה שְׁמָמָ֖ה כֻּלָּ֑הּ כֹּ֚ל עֹבֵ֣ר עַל ־בָּבֶ֔ל יִשֹּׁ֥ם וְיִשְׁרֹ֖ק עַל ־כׇּל ־מַכּוֹתֶֽיהָ ׃
καὶ συντρίψει τοὺς στύλους ἡλίου πόλεως τοὺς ἐν Ων καὶ τὰς οἰκίας αὐτῶν κατακαύσει ἐν πυρί
Ab ira Domini non habitabitur , sed redigetur tota in solitudinem : omnis qui transibit per Babylonem stupebit , et sibilabit super universis plagis ejus .
እመዐተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወኢትሄሉ ፡ እንከ ።
Because of Yahweh’s wrath she won’t be inhabited, but she will be wholly desolate. Everyone who goes by Babylon will be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.
50:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ עִרְכ֨וּ עַל ־בָּבֶ֤ל ׀סָבִיב֙ כׇּל ־דֹּ֣רְכֵי קֶ֔שֶׁת יְד֣וּ אֵלֶ֔יהָ אַֽל ־תַּחְמְל֖וּ אֶל ־חֵ֑ץ כִּ֥י לַיהֹוָ֖ה חָטָֽאָה ׃
— Praeparamini contra Babylonem per circuitum , omnes qui tenditis arcum : debellate eam , non parcatis jaculis , quia Domino peccavit .
ተቃተልዋ ፡ ለባቢሎን ፡ ወዕግትዋ ፡ ኵልክሙ ፡ ወስቁ ፡ ቀስተክሙ ፡ ላዕሌሃ ፡ ወንድፍዋ ፡ ወኢትትሀከዩ ፡ ነዲፎታ ፡ እስመ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አበሰት ።
Set yourselves in array against Babylon all around, all you who bend the bow; shoot at her. Spare no arrows, for she has sinned against Yahweh.
50:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ הָרִ֨יעוּ עָלֶ֤יהָ סָבִיב֙ נָתְנָ֣ה יָדָ֔הּ נָֽפְלוּ֙ (אשויתיה ) [אׇשְׁיוֹתֶ֔יהָ ] נֶהֶרְס֖וּ חוֹמוֹתֶ֑יהָ כִּי֩ נִקְמַ֨ת יְהֹוָ֥ה הִיא֙ הִנָּ֣קְמוּ בָ֔הּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשְׂתָ֖ה עֲשׂוּ ־לָֽהּ ׃
— Clamate adversus eam , ubique dedit manum : ceciderunt fundamenta ejus , destructi sunt muri ejus , quoniam ultio Domini est : ultionem accipite de ea : sicut fecit , facite ei .
ዕግትዋ ፡ እስመ ፡ ደክመ ፡ እደዊሃ ፡ ወወድቀ ፡ ጥቅማ ፡ ወንኅለ ፡ አረፋቲሃ ፡ እስመ ፡ እምኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይትቤቀልዋ ፡ በቀለ ፡ ወበከመ ፡ ገብረት ፡ ግበርዋ ።
Shout against her all around. She has submitted herself. Her bulwarks have fallen. Her walls have been thrown down, for it is the vengeance of Yahweh. Take vengeance on her. As she has done, do to her.
50:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ כִּרְת֤וּ זוֹרֵ֙עַ֙ מִבָּבֶ֔ל וְתֹפֵ֥שׂ מַגָּ֖ל בְּעֵ֣ת קָצִ֑יר מִפְּנֵי֙ חֶ֣רֶב הַיּוֹנָ֔ה אִ֤ישׁ אֶל ־עַמּוֹ֙ יִפְנ֔וּ וְאִ֥ישׁ לְאַרְצ֖וֹ יָנֻֽסוּ ׃ {ס}
— Disperdite satorem de Babylone , et tenentem falcem in tempore messis : a facie gladii columbae unusquisque ad populum suum convertetur , et singuli ad terram suam fugient .
ወሠርዉ ፡ ዘርኦሙ ፡ ለባቢሎን ፡ ወይእኅዝ ፡ ማዕፀደ ፡ በመዋዕለ ፡ ማእረር ፡ እምገጸ ፡ መጥባሕተ ፡ ዮናናዊ ፡ ይሰወጥ፩፩ውስተ ፡ ሕዝቡ ፡ ወ፩፩ይእቱ ፡ ብሔሮ ።
Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him who handles the sickle in the time of harvest. For fear of the oppressing sword, they will each return to their own people, and they will each flee to their own land.
50:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ שֶׂ֧ה פְזוּרָ֛ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֲרָי֣וֹת הִדִּ֑יחוּ הָרִאשׁ֤וֹן אֲכָלוֹ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ אַשּׁ֔וּר וְזֶ֤ה הָאַֽחֲרוֹן֙ עִצְּמ֔וֹ נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֖ר מֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶֽל ׃ {פ}
— Grex dispersus Israël : leones ejecerunt eum . Primus comedit eum rex Assur : iste novissimus exossavit eum Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis .
በግዕ ፡ ዘተገድፈ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ አናብስት ፡ ዘረውዎ ።
“Israel is a hunted sheep. The lions have driven him away. First, the king of Assyria devoured him, and now at last Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”
50:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵ֗ן כֹּה ־אָמַ֞ר יְהֹוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הִנְנִ֥י פֹקֵ֛ד אֶל ־מֶ֥לֶךְ בָּבֶ֖ל וְאֶל ־אַרְצ֑וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּקַ֖דְתִּי אֶל ־מֶ֥לֶךְ אַשּֽׁוּר ׃
— Propterea haec dicit Dominus exercituum , Deus Israël : Ecce ego visitabo regem Babylonis et terram ejus , sicut visitavi regem Assur :
በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸባኦት ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ናሁ ፡ እትቤቀሎ ፡ ለንጉሠ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ወለምድሩ ፡ በከመ ፡ ተበቀልክዎ ፡ ለንጉሠ ፡ ፋርስ ።
Therefore Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.
50:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְשֹׁבַבְתִּ֤י אֶת ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל ־נָוֵ֔הוּ וְרָעָ֥ה הַכַּרְמֶ֖ל וְהַבָּשָׁ֑ן וּבְהַ֥ר אֶפְרַ֛יִם וְהַגִּלְעָ֖ד תִּשְׂבַּ֥ע נַפְשֽׁוֹ ׃
— et reducam Israël ad habitaculum suum : et pascetur Carmelum et Basan , et in monte Ephraim et Galaad saturabitur anima ejus .
ወእሰውጦ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ውስረ ፡ ፂኦቱ ፡ ወይትረዐይ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቀርሜሎስ ፡ ወባሳን ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ደብረ ፡ ኤፍሬም ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ገለዓድ ፡ ወትጸግብ ፡ ነፍሱ ።
I will bring Israel again to his pasture, and he will feed on Carmel and Bashan. His soul will be satisfied on the hills of Ephraim and in Gilead.
50:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵם֩ וּבָעֵ֨ת הַהִ֜יא נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָ֗ה יְבֻקַּ֞שׁ אֶת ־עֲוֺ֤ן יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאֵינֶ֔נּוּ וְאֶת ־חַטֹּ֥את יְהוּדָ֖ה וְלֹ֣א תִמָּצֶ֑אינָה כִּ֥י אֶסְלַ֖ח לַאֲשֶׁ֥ר אַשְׁאִֽיר ׃ {פ}
— In diebus illis , et in tempore illo , ait Dominus , quaeretur iniquitas Israël , et non erit , et peccatum Juda , et non invenietur : quoniam propitius ero eis quos reliquero .
በእማንቱ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ወበውእቱ ፡ ጊዜ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ የኀሥሥዋ ፡ ለኃጢአተ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወኢትሄሉ ፡ ወጌጋዩ ፡ ለይሁዳ ፡ ወኢትትረከብ ፡ እስመ ፡ እሠሀሎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ተርፉ ።
In those days, and in that time,” says Yahweh, “the iniquity of Israel will be sought for, and there will be none, also the sins of Judah, and they won’t be found; for I will pardon them whom I leave as a remnant.
50:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ עַל ־הָאָ֤רֶץ מְרָתַ֙יִם֙ עֲלֵ֣ה עָלֶ֔יהָ וְאֶל ־יוֹשְׁבֵ֖י פְּק֑וֹד חֲרֹ֨ב וְהַחֲרֵ֤ם אַחֲרֵיהֶם֙ נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָ֔ה וַעֲשֵׂ֕ה כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּיתִֽיךָ ׃ {ס}
— Super terram dominantium ascende , et super habitatores ejus visita : dissipa , et interfice quae post eos sunt , ait Dominus , et fac juxta omnia quae praecepi tibi .
ውስተ ፡ ምድር ።
“Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod. Kill and utterly destroy after them,” says Yahweh, “and do according to all that I have commanded you.
50:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ ק֥וֹל מִלְחָמָ֖ה בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְשֶׁ֖בֶר גָּדֽוֹל ׃
— Vox belli in terra , et contritio magna .
ውውዓ ፡ ወቀትል ፡ ወዓቢይ ፡ ቅጥቃጤ ፡ በምድር ።
A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.
50:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ אֵ֤יךְ נִגְדַּע֙ וַיִּשָּׁבֵ֔ר פַּטִּ֖ישׁ כׇּל ־הָאָ֑רֶץ אֵ֣יךְ הָיְתָ֧ה לְשַׁמָּ֛ה בָּבֶ֖ל בַּגּוֹיִֽם ׃
— Quomodo confractus est et contritus malleus universae terrae ? quomodo versa est in desertum Babylon in gentibus ?
እፎ ፡ ተቀጥቀጠት ፡ ወተሰብረት ፡ እንተ ፡ ትፈጽሖ ፡ ለኵሉ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወእፎ ፡ ኮነት ፡ ሙስንተ ፡ ባቢሊን ፡ በውስተ ፡ አሕዛብ ።
How the hammer of the whole earth is cut apart and broken! How Babylon has become a desolation among the nations!
50:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ יָקֹ֨שְׁתִּי לָ֤ךְ וְגַם ־נִלְכַּדְתְּ֙ בָּבֶ֔ל וְאַ֖תְּ לֹ֣א יָדָ֑עַתְּ נִמְצֵאת֙ וְגַם ־נִתְפַּ֔שְׂתְּ כִּ֥י בַיהֹוָ֖ה הִתְגָּרִֽית ׃
— Illaqueavi te , et capta es , Babylon , et nesciebas : inventa es et apprehensa , quoniam Dominum provocasti .
ተቀጥቀጥኪ ፡ ወተእኅዝኪ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ወአንቲሂ ፡ ኢያእመርኪ ፡ ተረከብኪ ፡ ወተእኅዝኪ ፡ እስመ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ተቃወምኪዮ ።
I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, Babylon, and you weren’t aware. You are found, and also caught, because you have fought against Yahweh.
50:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ פָּתַ֤ח יְהֹוָה֙ אֶת ־א֣וֹצָר֔וֹ וַיּוֹצֵ֖א אֶת ־כְּלֵ֣י זַעְמ֑וֹ כִּֽי ־מְלָאכָ֣ה הִ֗יא לַאדֹנָ֧י יֱהֹוִ֛ה צְבָא֖וֹת בְּאֶ֥רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּֽים ׃
— Aperuit Dominus thesaurum suum , et protulit vasa irae suae , quoniam opus est Domino Deo exercituum , in terra Chaldaeorum .
አርኀወ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ መዝገቦ ፡ ወአውፅአ ፡ ንዋየ ፡ መዐቱ ፡ እስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክ ፡ ጸባኦት ፡ ይገብር ፡ በምድረ ፡ ፋርስ ።
Yahweh has opened his armory, and has brought out the weapons of his indignation; for the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, has a work to do in the land of the Chaldeans.
50:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ בֹּֽאוּ ־לָ֤הּ מִקֵּץ֙ פִּתְח֣וּ מַאֲבֻסֶ֔יהָ סׇלּ֥וּהָ כְמֽוֹ ־עֲרֵמִ֖ים וְהַחֲרִימ֑וּהָ אַל ־תְּהִי ־לָ֖הּ שְׁאֵרִֽית ׃
— Venite ad eam ab extremis finibus ; aperite ut exeant qui conculcent eam : tollite de via lapides , et redigite in acervos : et interficite eam , nec sit quidquam reliquum .
እስመ ፡ በጽሐ ፡ ዕድሜሃ ፡ አርኅዉ ፡ መዛግብቲሃ ፡ ፍትንዋ ፡ ከመ ፡ በአት ፡ ወሠርውዋ ፡ ወኢታትርፉ ፡ ላቲ ፡ ወኢምንተኒ ።
Come against her from the farthest border. Open her storehouses. Cast her up as heaps. Destroy her utterly. Let nothing of her be left.
50:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ חִרְבוּ֙ כׇּל ־פָּרֶ֔יהָ יֵרְד֖וּ לַטָּ֑בַח ה֣וֹי עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם כִּי ־בָ֥א יוֹמָ֖ם עֵ֥ת פְּקֻדָּתָֽם ׃ {ס}
— Dissipate universos fortes ejus : descendant in occisionem : vae eis , quia venit dies eorum , tempus visitationis eorum !
ወአይብሱ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ፍሬሃ ፡ ወይረዱ ፡ ወይትቃተሉ ፡ አሌ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ እስመ ፡ በጽሐቶሙ ፡ ዕለቶሙ ፡ ወጊዜ ፡ ይትቤቀልዎ ።
Kill all her bulls. Let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them! For their day has come, the time of their visitation.
50:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ ק֥וֹל נָסִ֛ים וּפְלֵטִ֖ים מֵאֶ֣רֶץ בָּבֶ֑ל לְהַגִּ֣יד בְּצִיּ֗וֹן אֶת ־נִקְמַת֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ נִקְמַ֖ת הֵיכָלֽוֹ ׃
— Vox fugientium , et eorum qui evaserunt de terra Babylonis , ut annuntient in Sion ultionem Domini Dei nostri , ultionem templi ejus .
ቃለ ፡ እለ ፡ ይጐይዩ ፡ ወአምሠጡ ፡ እምድረ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ከመ ፡ ይዜንዉ ፡ በጽዮን ፡ በቀለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ፡ ወበቀለ ፡ መቅደሱ ።
Listen to those who flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of Yahweh our God, the vengeance of his temple.
50:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ הַשְׁמִ֣יעוּ אֶל ־בָּבֶ֣ל ׀רַ֠בִּ֠ים כׇּל ־דֹּ֨רְכֵי קֶ֜שֶׁת חֲנ֧וּ עָלֶ֣יהָ סָבִ֗יב אַל ־יְהִי ־[לָהּ֙ ] פְּלֵיטָ֔ה שַׁלְּמוּ ־לָ֣הּ כְּפׇעֳלָ֔הּ כְּכֹ֛ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשְׂתָ֖ה עֲשׂוּ ־לָ֑הּ כִּ֧י אֶל ־יְהֹוָ֛ה זָ֖דָה אֶל ־קְד֥וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל ׃
— Annuntiate in Babylonem plurimis , omnibus qui tendunt arcum : consistite adversus eam per gyrum , et nullus evadat : reddite ei secundum opus suum : juxta omnia quae fecit , facite illi , quia contra Dominum erecta est , adversum Sanctum Israël .
አስምዑ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ብዙኃን ፡ እንተ ፡ ኵለሄ ፡ ይነድፍዋ ፡ ወየዐግትዋ ፡ ተዓይን ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ዘያመሥጥ ፡ እምኔሃ ፡ ወተበቀልዋ ፡ በከመ ፡ ምግባራ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ በከመ ፡ ገብረት ፡ ይግበርዋ ፡ እስመ ፡ ተቃወመቶ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክ ፡ ቅዱሰ ፡ እስራኤል ።
“Call together the archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow. Encamp against her all around. Let none of it escape. Pay her back according to her work. According to all that she has done, do to her; for she has been proud against Yahweh, against the Holy One of Israel.
50:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵ֛ן יִפְּל֥וּ בַחוּרֶ֖יהָ בִּרְחֹבֹתֶ֑יהָ וְכׇל ־אַנְשֵׁ֨י מִלְחַמְתָּ֥הּ יִדַּ֛מּוּ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָֽה ׃ {פ}
— Idcirco cadent juvenes ejus in plateis ejus , et omnes viri bellatores ejus conticescent in die illa , ait Dominus .
በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ይወድቁ ፡ ወራዙቲሃ ፡ በውስተ ፡ መርሕባ ፡ ወኵሎሙ ፡ ዕደዊሃ ፡ መስተቃትላን ፡ ይትገደፋ ፡ ውእተ ፡ አሚረ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
Therefore her young men will fall in her streets. All her men of war will be brought to silence in that day,” says Yahweh.
50:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ הִנְנִ֤י אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ זָד֔וֹן נְאֻם ־אֲדֹנָ֥י יֱהֹוִ֖ה צְבָא֑וֹת כִּ֛י בָּ֥א יוֹמְךָ֖ עֵ֥ת פְּקַדְתִּֽיךָ ׃
— Ecce ego ad te , superbe ! dicit Dominus Deus exercituum : quia venit dies tuus , tempus visitationis tuae .
ናሁ ፡ አነ ፡ ላዕሌኪ ፡ ጽዕልት ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸባኦት ፡ እስመ ፡ በጽሐ ፡ ዕለትኪ ፡ ወጊዜ ፡ ይትቤቀሉኪ ።
“Behold, I am against you, you proud one,” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies; “for your day has come, the time that I will visit you.
50:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְכָשַׁ֤ל זָדוֹן֙ וְנָפַ֔ל וְאֵ֥ין ל֖וֹ מֵקִ֑ים וְהִצַּ֤תִּי אֵשׁ֙ בְּעָרָ֔יו וְאָכְלָ֖ה כׇּל ־סְבִיבֹתָֽיו ׃ {ס}
— Et cadet superbus , et corruet , et non erit qui suscitet eum : et succendam ignem in urbibus ejus , et devorabit omnia in circuitu ejus .
ወትደክሚ ፡ ኅሥርት ፡ ወትወድቂ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ዘያነሥአኪ ፡ ወአነድድ ፡ እሳተ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዖምኪ ፡ ወበልዕ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘዐውድኪ ።
The proud one will stumble and fall, and no one will raise him up. I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it will devour all who are around him.”
50:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת עֲשׁוּקִ֛ים בְּנֵי ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל וּבְנֵי ־יְהוּדָ֖ה יַחְדָּ֑ו וְכׇל ־שֹֽׁבֵיהֶם֙ הֶחֱזִ֣יקוּ בָ֔ם מֵאֲנ֖וּ שַׁלְּחָֽם ׃
— Haec dicit Dominus exercituum : Calumniam sustinent filii Israël , et filii Juda simul : omnes qui ceperunt eos , tenent : nolunt dimittere eos .
ከመዝ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸባኦት ፡ ተዐገልዎሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወለደቂቀ ፡ ይሁዳ ፡ ኅቡረ ፡ ወኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ፄወውዎሙ ፡ ተኀየልዎሙ ፡ ወአበዩ ፡ ፈንዎቶሙ ።
Yahweh of Armies says: “The children of Israel and the children of Judah are oppressed together. All who took them captive hold them fast. They refuse to let them go.
50:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ גֹּאֲלָ֣ם ׀ חָזָ֗ק יְהֹוָ֤ה צְבָאוֹת֙ שְׁמ֔וֹ רִ֥יב יָרִ֖יב אֶת ־רִיבָ֑ם לְמַ֙עַן֙ הִרְגִּ֣יעַ אֶת ־הָאָ֔רֶץ וְהִרְגִּ֖יז לְיֹשְׁבֵ֥י בָבֶֽל ׃
— Redemptor eorum fortis , Dominus exercituum nomen ejus : judicio defendet causam eorum , ut exterreat terram , et commoveat habitatores Babylonis .
ወዘያድኅኖሙሰ ፡ ኃያል ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘኵሎ ፡ ይመልክ ፡ ስሙ ፡ ቅሥተ ፡ ይሳነኖሙ ፡ ለእድዋኒሁ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታርምም ፡ ምድር ፡ ወያደነግፅዎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ባቢሎን ።
Their Redeemer is strong. Yahweh of Armies is his name. He will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
50:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ חֶ֥רֶב עַל ־כַּשְׂדִּ֖ים נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָ֑ה וְאֶל ־יֹשְׁבֵ֣י בָבֶ֔ל וְאֶל ־שָׂרֶ֖יהָ וְאֶל ־חֲכָמֶֽיהָ ׃
— Gladius ad Chaldaeos , ait Dominus , et ad habitatores Babylonis , et ad principes , et ad sapientes ejus .
መጥሕባት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ፋርስ ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ መሳፍንቲሃ ፡ ወዲበ ፡ ጠቢባኒሃ ።
“A sword is on the Chaldeans,” says Yahweh, “and on the inhabitants of Babylon, on her princes, and on her wise men.
50:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ חֶ֥רֶב אֶל ־הַבַּדִּ֖ים וְנֹאָ֑לוּ חֶ֥רֶב אֶל ־גִּבּוֹרֶ֖יהָ וָחָֽתּוּ ׃
— Gladius ad divinos ejus , qui stulti erunt : gladius ad fortes illius , qui timebunt .
መጥባሕት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ መስተቃትላኒሃ ፡ ወይደክሙ ።
A sword is on the boasters, and they will become fools. A sword is on her mighty men, and they will be dismayed.
50:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ חֶ֜רֶב אֶל ־סוּסָ֣יו וְאֶל ־רִכְבּ֗וֹ וְאֶל ־כׇּל ־הָעֶ֛רֶב אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּתוֹכָ֖הּ וְהָי֣וּ לְנָשִׁ֑ים חֶ֥רֶב אֶל ־אוֹצְרֹתֶ֖יהָ וּבֻזָּֽזוּ ׃
— Gladius ad equos ejus , et ad currus ejus , et ad omne vulgus quod est in medio ejus : et erunt quasi mulieres : gladius ad thesauros ejus , qui diripientur .
መጥባሕት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ አፍራሲሃ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ሠረገላቲሃ ፡ መጥባሕት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኃያላኒሃ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ እለ ፡ ተደመሩ ፡ ማእከላ ፡ ወይከውኑ ፡ ከመ ፡ አንሰት ፡ መጥባሕት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ መዛግብቲሃ ፡ ወይዘረዉ ።
A sword is on their horses, on their chariots, and on all the mixed people who are in the middle of her; and they will become as women. A sword is on her treasures, and they will be robbed.
50:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ חֹ֥רֶב אֶל ־מֵימֶ֖יהָ וְיָבֵ֑שׁוּ כִּ֣י אֶ֤רֶץ פְּסִלִים֙ הִ֔יא וּבָאֵימִ֖ים יִתְהֹלָֽלוּ ׃
— Siccitas super aquas ejus erit , et arescent , quia terra sculptilium est , et in portentis gloriantur .
መጥባሕት ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ማያቲሃ ፡ ወይየብሱ ፡ እስመ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ግልፎዋት ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ወይትቈናደዩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ደሰያቲሃ ።
A drought is on her waters, and they will be dried up; for it is a land of engraved images, and they are mad over idols.
50:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵ֗ן יֵשְׁב֤וּ צִיִּים֙ אֶת ־אִיִּ֔ים וְיָ֥שְׁבוּ בָ֖הּ בְּנ֣וֹת יַעֲנָ֑ה וְלֹא ־תֵשֵׁ֥ב עוֹד֙ לָנֶ֔צַח וְלֹ֥א תִשְׁכּ֖וֹן עַד ־דּ֥וֹר וָדֹֽר ׃
— Propterea habitabunt dracones cum faunis ficariis , et habitabunt in ea struthiones : et non inhabitabitur ultra usque in sempiternum , nec exstruetur usque ad generationem et generationem .
በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ጺም ፡ ምስለ ፡ ኢም ፡ ወየኀድራ ፡ አዋልደ ፡ ጼዴነታት ፡ ወኢትሄሉ ፡ እንከ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ ወኢይነብርዋ ፡ ለትውልደ ፡ ትውልድ ።
Therefore the wild animals of the desert with the wolves will dwell there. The ostriches will dwell therein. It will be inhabited no more forever, neither will it be lived in from generation to generation.
50:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ כְּמַהְפֵּכַ֨ת אֱלֹהִ֜ים אֶת ־סְדֹ֧ם וְאֶת ־עֲמֹרָ֛ה וְאֶת ־שְׁכֵנֶ֖יהָ נְאֻם ־יְהֹוָ֑ה לֹא ־יֵשֵׁ֥ב שָׁם֙ אִ֔ישׁ וְלֹא ־יָג֥וּר בָּ֖הּ בֶּן ־אָדָֽם ׃
— Sicut subvertit Dominus Sodomam et Gomorrham , et vicinas ejus , ait Dominus , non habitabit ibi vir , et non incolet eam filius hominis .
በከመ ፡ ገፍትዖን ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለሰዶም ፡ ወለገሞራ ፡ ወለአድያሚሆን ፡ ይቤ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወኢይነብር ፡ እንከ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ህየ ፡ ወኢየኀድር ፡ ባቲ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ።
As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and its neighbor cities,” says Yahweh, “so no man will dwell there, neither will any son of man live therein.
50:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ הִנֵּ֛ה עַ֥ם בָּ֖א מִצָּפ֑וֹן וְג֤וֹי גָּדוֹל֙ וּמְלָכִ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים יֵעֹ֖רוּ מִיַּרְכְּתֵי ־אָֽרֶץ ׃
— Ecce populus venit ab aquilone , et gens magna , et reges multi consurgent a finibus terrae .
ናሁ ፡ ይመጽእ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ እምድረ ፡ ደቡብ ፡ ወዓቢይ ፡ ሠራዊት ፡ ወነገሥትሂ ፡ ብዙኃን ፡ ይትነሥኡ ፡ እምአጽናፈ ፡ ምድር ።
“Behold, a people comes from the north. A great nation and many kings will be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
50:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ קֶ֣שֶׁת וְכִידֹ֞ן יַחֲזִ֗יקוּ אַכְזָרִ֥י הֵ֙מָּה֙ וְלֹ֣א יְרַחֵ֔מוּ קוֹלָם֙ כַּיָּ֣ם יֶהֱמֶ֔ה וְעַל ־סוּסִ֖ים יִרְכָּ֑בוּ עָר֗וּךְ כְּאִישׁ֙ לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה עָלַ֖יִךְ בַּת ־בָּבֶֽל ׃
— Arcum et scutum apprehendent : crudeles sunt , et immisericordes : vox eorum quasi mare sonabit , et super equos ascendent , sicut vir paratus ad praelium contra te , filia Babylon .
ወቦሙ ፡ ቀስት ፡ ወቢዶን ፡ ዘይእኅዙ ፡ ተባዓን ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ወኢይምሕሩ ፡ ውውዓኒሆሙኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ድምፀ ፡ ባሕር ፡ ይደምፁ ፡ ወይፄዐኑ ፡ በአፍራሲሆሙ ፡ ወይትቃተሉኪ ፡ ከመ ፡ እሳት ፡ ወለተ ፡ ባቢሎን ።
They take up bow and spear. They are cruel, and have no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea. They ride on horses, everyone set in array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of Babylon.
50:43 ⧉ ⤴︎ שָׁמַ֧ע מֶלֶךְ ־בָּבֶ֛ל אֶת ־שִׁמְעָ֖ם וְרָפ֣וּ יָדָ֑יו צָרָה֙ הֶחֱזִיקַ֔תְהוּ חִ֖יל כַּיּוֹלֵדָֽה ׃
— Audivit rex Babylonis famam eorum , et dissolutae sunt manus ejus : angustia apprehendit eum , dolor quasi parturientem .
ወሰምዐ ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ውውዒሆሙ ፡ ወተመስወ ፡ እደዊሁ ፡ ወአኀዞ ፡ ሕማም ፡ ከመ ፡ ማሕምም ፡ እንተ ፡ ትወልድ ።
The king of Babylon has heard the news of them, and his hands become feeble. Anguish has taken hold of him, pains as of a woman in labor.
50:44 ⧉ ⤴︎ הִ֠נֵּ֠ה כְּאַרְיֵ֞ה יַעֲלֶ֨ה מִגְּא֣וֹן הַיַּרְדֵּן֮ אֶל ־נְוֵ֣ה אֵיתָן֒ כִּֽי ־אַרְגִּ֤עָה (ארוצם ) [אֲרִיצֵם֙ ] מֵעָלֶ֔יהָ וּמִ֥י בָח֖וּר אֵלֶ֣יהָ אֶפְקֹ֑ד כִּ֣י מִ֤י כָמ֙וֹנִי֙ וּמִ֣י יוֹעִדֶ֔נִּי וּמִי ־זֶ֣ה רֹעֶ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַעֲמֹ֖ד לְפָנָֽי ׃
— Ecce quasi leo ascendet , de superbia Jordanis ad pulchritudinem robustam , quia subito currere faciam eum ad illam . Et quis erit electus , quem praeponam ei ? quis est enim similis mei ? et quis sustinebit me ? et quis est iste pastor , qui resistat vultui meo ?
ናሁ ፡ የዐርግ ፡ ከመ ፡ አንበሳ ፡ እማዕዶተ ፡ ዮርዳኖስ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድረ ፡ ኤታን ፡ እስመ ፡ ፍጡነ ፡ እሰድዶሙ ፡ እምኔሃ ፡ ወአቀውሞሙ ፡ ላዕሌሃ ፡ ለኵሉ ፡ ወራዙት ፡ እስመ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ከማየ ፡ ወመኑ ፡ ዘይትቃወመኒ ፡ ወመኑ ፡ ኖላዊ ፡ ዘይቀውም ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ገጽየ ።
Behold, the enemy will come up like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will suddenly make them run away from it. Whoever is chosen, I will appoint him over it, for who is like me? Who will appoint me a time? Who is the shepherd who can stand before me?”
50:45 ⧉ ⤴︎ לָכֵ֞ן שִׁמְע֣וּ עֲצַת ־יְהֹוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר יָעַץ֙ אֶל ־בָּבֶ֔ל וּמַ֨חְשְׁבוֹתָ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָשַׁ֖ב אֶל ־אֶ֣רֶץ כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים אִם ־לֹ֤א יִסְחָבוּם֙ צְעִירֵ֣י הַצֹּ֔אן אִם ־לֹ֥א יַשִּׁ֛ים עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם נָוֶֽה ׃
— Propterea audite consilium Domini quod mente concepit adversum Babylonem , et cogitationes ejus quas cogitavit super terram Chaldaeorum : nisi detraxerint eos parvuli gregum , nisi dissipatum fuerit cum ipsis habitaculum eorum .
በእንተ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ስምዑ ፡ ምክሮ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘመከረ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ወሕሊናሁ ፡ ዘሐለየ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ፋርስ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ኢያማሰኑ ፡ መሐስአ ፡ አባግዒሆሙ ፡ ወእመ ፡ ኢያማሰኑ ፡ መርዔተ ፡ እምኔሆሙ ።
Therefore hear the counsel of Yahweh that he has taken against Babylon; and his purposes that he has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely they will drag them away, even the little ones of the flock. Surely he will make their habitation desolate over them.
50:46 ⧉ ⤴︎ מִקּוֹל֙ נִתְפְּשָׂ֣ה בָבֶ֔ל נִרְעֲשָׁ֖ה הָאָ֑רֶץ וּזְעָקָ֖ה בַּגּוֹיִ֥ם נִשְׁמָֽע ׃ {ס}
— A voce captivitatis Babylonis commota est terra , et clamor inter gentes auditus est .
እስመ ፡ እምውውዓሆሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ያሠግርዋ ፡ ለባቢሎን ፡ አድለቅለቀት ፡ ምድር ፡ ወተሰምዐ ፡ ውውዓሆሙ ፡ ለአሕዛብ ።
The earth trembles at the noise of the taking of Babylon. The cry is heard among the nations.
