7:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Μὴ κρίνετε , ἵνα μὴ κριθῆτε .
Nolite judicare , ut non judicemini .
ኢትኰንኑ ከመ ኢትትኰነኑ ።
“Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged.
7:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν ᾧ γὰρ κρίματι κρίνετε κριθήσεσθε , καὶ ἐν ᾧ μέτρῳ μετρεῖτε μετρηθήσεται ὑμῖν .
In quo enim judicio judicaveritis , judicabimini : et in qua mensura mensi fueritis , remetietur vobis .
እስመ በኵነኔ ዘኰነንክሙ ትትኴነኑ አንትሙ ወበመስፈርት ዘሰፈርክሙ ይሰፍሩ ለክሙ ።
For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.
7:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ τί δὲ βλέπεις τὸ κάρφος τὸ ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου , τὴν δὲ ἐν τῷ σῷ ὀφθαλμῷ δοκὸν οὐ κατανοεῖς ;
Quid autem vides festucam in oculo fratris tui , et trabem in oculo tuo non vides ?
ለምንት ትሬኢ ሐሠረ ዘውስተ ዐይነ እኁከ ወኢትሬኢ ሠርዌ ዘውስተ ዐይንከ ኢታቤይንኑ ።
Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?
7:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἢ πῶς ἐρεῖς τῷ ἀδελφῷ σου , ἄφες ἐκβάλω τὸ κάρφος ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ σου , καὶ ἰδοὺ ἡ δοκὸς ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ σοῦ ;
aut quomodo dicis fratri tuo : Sine ejiciam festucam de oculo tuo , et ecce trabs est in oculo tuo ?
ወእፎ ትብሎ ለእኁከ ኅድገኒ አውፅእ ሐሠረ እምውስተ ዐይንከ ወናሁ ሠርዌ ውስተ ዐይንከ ።
Or how will you tell your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye,’ and behold, the beam is in your own eye?
7:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὑποκριτά , ἔκβαλε πρῶτον ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ σοῦ τὴν δοκόν , καὶ τότε διαβλέψεις ἐκβαλεῖν τὸ κάρφος ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου .
Hypocrita , ejice primum trabem de oculo tuo , et tunc videbis ejicere festucam de oculo fratris tui .
ኦ መደልው አውፅእ ቅድመ ሠርዌ እምውስተ ዐይንከ ወእምዝ ትሬኢ ለአውፅኦ ሐሠር ዘውስተ ዐይነ እኁከ ።
You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.
7:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ Μὴ δῶτε τὸ ἅγιον τοῖς κυσίν , μηδὲ βάλητε τοὺς μαργαρίτας ὑμῶν ἔμπροσθεν τῶν χοίρων , μήποτε καταπατήσουσιν αὐτοὺς ἐν τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτῶν καὶ στραφέντες ῥήξωσιν ὑμᾶς .
Nolite dare sanctum canibus : neque mittatis margaritas vestras ante porcos , ne forte conculcent eas pedibus suis , et conversi dirumpant vos .
ኢተሀቡ ቅድሳተ ለከለባት ወኢትደዩ ባሕርየክሙ ቅድመ አሕርው ከመ ኢይኪድዎ በእገሪሆሙ ወተመዪጦሙ ይነፅኁክሙ ።
“Don’t give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
7:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ Αἰτεῖτε , καὶ δοθήσεται ὑμῖν · ζητεῖτε , καὶ εὑρήσετε · κρούετε , καὶ ἀνοιγήσεται ὑμῖν .
Petite , et dabitur vobis : quaerite , et invenietis : pulsate , et aperietur vobis .
ሰአሉ ወይትወሀበክሙ ኅሡ ወትረክቡ ጐድጕዱ ወይትረኀወክሙ ።
“Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.
7:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ πᾶς γὰρ ὁ αἰτῶν λαμβάνει καὶ ὁ ζητῶν εὑρίσκει καὶ τῷ κρούοντι ἀνοιγήσεται .
Omnis enim qui petit , accipit : et qui quaerit , invenit : et pulsanti aperietur .
እስመ ኵሉ ዘሰአለ ይነሥእ ወዘሂ ኀሠሠ ይረክብ ወለዘሂ ጐድጐደ ይትረኀዎ ።
For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
7:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἢ τίς ἐστιν ἐξ ὑμῶν ἄνθρωπος , ὃν αἰτήσει ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἄρτον , μὴ λίθον ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ ;
Aut quis est ex vobis homo , quem si petierit filius suus panem , numquid lapidem porriget ei ?
መኑ ውእቱ እምኔክሙ ብእሲ ዘይስእሎ ወልዱ ኅብስተ ወእብነ ይሁቦ ።
Or who is there among you who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
7:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἢ καὶ ἰχθὺν αἰτήσει , μὴ ὄφιν ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ ;
aut si piscem petierit , numquid serpentem porriget ei ?
ወእመሂ ዓሣ ሰአሎ አርዌ ምድርኑ ይሁቦ ።
Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent?
7:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰ οὖν ὑμεῖς πονηροὶ ὄντες οἴδατε δόματα ἀγαθὰ διδόναι τοῖς τέκνοις ὑμῶν , πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς δώσει ἀγαθὰ τοῖς αἰτοῦσιν αὐτόν .
Si ergo vos , cum sitis mali , nostis bona data dare filiis vestris : quanto magis Pater vester , qui in caelis est , dabit bona petentibus se ?
ወሶበ እንከ እንዘ እኩያን አንትሙ ተአምሩ ሠናየ ሀብተ ውሂበ ለውሉድክሙ እፎ ፈድፋደ አቡክሙ ዘበሰማያት ይሁብ ሠናየ ለእለ ይስእልዎ ።
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
7:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ πάντα οὖν ὅσα ἐὰν θέλητε ἵνα ποιῶσιν ὑμῖν οἱ ἄνθρωποι , οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς ποιεῖτε αὐτοῖς · οὗτος γάρ ἐστιν ὁ νόμος καὶ οἱ προφῆται .
Omnia ergo quaecumque vultis ut faciant vobis homines , et vos facite illis . Haec est enim lex , et prophetae .
ኵሎኬ ዘትፈቅዱ ይግበሩ ለክሙ ሰብእ ከማሁ ግበሩ ሎሙ አንትሙኒ እስመ ከማሁ ውእቱ ኦሪትኒ ወነቢያትኒ ።
Therefore, whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
7:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἰσέλθατε διὰ τῆς στενῆς πύλης · ὅτι πλατεῖα [ἡ πύλη ] καὶ εὐρύχωρος ἡ ὁδὸς ἡ ἀπάγουσα εἰς τὴν ἀπώλειαν , καὶ πολλοί εἰσιν οἱ εἰσερχόμενοι δι’ αὐτῆς ·
Intrate per angustam portam : quia lata porta , et spatiosa via est , quae ducit ad perditionem , et multi sunt qui intrant per eam .
ባኡ እንተ ጸባብ አንቀጽ እስመ ረሓብ አንቀጽ ወስፍሕት ፍኖት እንተ ትወስድ ውስተ ኀጕል ወብዙኃን እሙንቱ እለ ይበውኡ ውስቴታ ።
“Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it.
7:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι στενὴ [ἡ πύλη ] καὶ τεθλιμμένη ἡ ὁδὸς ἡ ἀπάγουσα εἰς τὴν ζωήν , καὶ ὀλίγοι εἰσὶν οἱ εὑρίσκοντες αὐτήν .
Quam angusta porta , et arcta via est , quae ducit ad vitam : et pauci sunt qui inveniunt eam !
ጥቀ ጸባብ አንቀጽ ወጽዕቅት ፍኖት እንተ ትወስድ ውስተ ሕይወት ወውኁዳን እሙንቱ እለ ይበውእዋ ።
How narrow is the gate and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are few who find it.
7:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ Προσέχετε ἀπὸ τῶν ψευδοπροφητῶν , οἵτινες ἔρχονται πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν ἐνδύμασιν προβάτων , ἔσωθεν δέ εἰσιν λύκοι ἅρπαγες .
Attendite a falsis prophetis , qui veniunt ad vos in vestimentis ovium , intrinsecus autem sunt lupi rapaces :
ተዐቀቡኬ እምሐሳውያን ነቢያት እለ ይመጽኡ ኀቤክሙ በአልባሰ አባግዕ ወእንተ ውስጦሙሰ ተኵላት መሠጥ እሙንቱ ።
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.
7:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀπὸ τῶν καρπῶν αὐτῶν ἐπιγνώσεσθε αὐτούς . μήτι συλλέγουσιν ἀπὸ ἀκανθῶν σταφυλὰς ἢ ἀπὸ τριβόλων σῦκα ;
a fructibus eorum cognoscetis eos . Numquid colligunt de spinis uvas , aut de tribulis ficus ?
ወእምፍሬሆሙ ተአምርዎሙ ይቀሥሙሁ እምአሥዋክ አስካለ ወእምአሜከላ በለሰ ።
By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns or figs from thistles?
7:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὕτως πᾶν δένδρον ἀγαθὸν καρποὺς καλοὺς ποιεῖ , τὸ δὲ σαπρὸν δένδρον καρποὺς πονηροὺς ποιεῖ ·
Sic omnis arbor bona fructus bonos facit : mala autem arbor malos fructus facit .
ከማሁኬ ኵሉ ዕፅ ሠናይ ፍሬ ሠናየ ይፈሪ ወእኩይሰ ዕፅ ፍሬ እኩየ ይፈሪ ።
Even so, every good tree produces good fruit, but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit.
7:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐ δύναται δένδρον ἀγαθὸν καρποὺς πονηροὺς ἐνεγκεῖν , οὐδὲ δένδρον σαπρὸν καρποὺς καλοὺς ἐνεγκεῖν .
Non potest arbor bona malos fructus facere : neque arbor mala bonos fructus facere .
ኢይክል ዕፅ ሠናይ ፍሬ እኩየ ፈርየ ወኢዕፅ እኩይ ፍሬ ሠናየ ፈርየ ።
A good tree can’t produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit.
7:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ πᾶν δένδρον μὴ ποιοῦν καρπὸν καλὸν ἐκκόπτεται καὶ εἰς πῦρ βάλλεται .
Omnis arbor , quae non facit fructum bonum , excidetur , et in ignem mittetur .
ኵሉ ዕፅ ዘኢይፈሪ ፍሬ ሠናየ ይገዝምዎ ወውስተ እሳት ይወድይዎ ።
Every tree that doesn’t grow good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
7:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄραγε ἀπὸ τῶν καρπῶν αὐτῶν ἐπιγνώσεσθε αὐτούς .
Igitur ex fructibus eorum cognoscetis eos .
ወእምፍሬሆሙ እንከ ተአምርዎሙ ።
Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
7:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οὐ πᾶς ὁ λέγων μοι , κύριε κύριε , εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν , ἀλλ’ ὁ ποιῶν τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς .
Non omnis qui dicit mihi , Domine , Domine , intrabit in regnum caelorum : sed qui facit voluntatem Patris mei , qui in caelis est , ipse intrabit in regnum caelorum .
አኮ ኵሉ ዘይብለኒ እግዚኦ እግዚኦ ዘይበውእ ውስተ መንግሥተ ሰማያት ዘእንበለ ዘይገብር ፈቃዶ ለአቡየ ዘበሰማያት ።
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
7:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ πολλοὶ ἐροῦσίν μοι ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ , κύριε κύριε , οὐ τῷ σῷ ὀνόματι ἐπροφητεύσαμεν , καὶ τῷ σῷ ὀνόματι δαιμόνια ἐξεβάλομεν , καὶ τῷ σῷ ὀνόματι δυνάμεις πολλὰς ἐποιήσαμεν ;
Multi dicent mihi in illa die : Domine , Domine , nonne in nomine tuo prophetavimus , et in nomine tuo daemonia ejecimus , et in nomine tuo virtutes multas fecimus ?
ወብዙኃን ይብሉኒ በይእቲ ዕለት እግዚኦ እግዚኦ አኮኑ በስምከ ተነበይነ ወበስምከ አጋንንተ አውፃእነ ወበስምከ ኀይላተ ብዙኀ ገበርነ ።
Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’
7:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τότε ὁμολογήσω αὐτοῖς ὅτι οὐδέποτε ἔγνων ὑμᾶς · ἀποχωρεῖτε ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ οἱ ἐργαζόμενοι τὴν ἀνομίαν .
Et tunc confitebor illis : Quia numquam novi vos : discedite a me , qui operamini iniquitatem .
ወይእተ ጊዜ እብሎሙ ግሙራ ኢየአምረክሙ ረኀቁ እምኔየ ኵልክሙ እለ ትገብሩ ዐመፃ ።
Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’
7:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πᾶς οὖν ὅστις ἀκούει μου τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ ποιεῖ αὐτοὺς ὁμοιωθήσεται ἀνδρὶ φρονίμῳ , ὅστις ᾠκοδόμησεν αὐτοῦ τὴν οἰκίαν ἐπὶ τὴν πέτραν .
Omnis ergo qui audit verba mea haec , et facit ea , assimilabitur viro sapienti , qui aedificavit domum suam supra petram ,
ኵሉኬ ዘይሰምዕ ዘንተ ቃልየ ወይገብሮ ይመስል ብእሴ ጠቢበ ዘሐነጸ ቤቶ ዲበ ኰኵሕ ።
“Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
7:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ κατέβη ἡ βροχὴ καὶ ἦλθον οἱ ποταμοὶ καὶ ἔπνευσαν οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ προσέπεσαν τῇ οἰκίᾳ ἐκείνῃ , καὶ οὐκ ἔπεσεν , τεθεμελίωτο γὰρ ἐπὶ τὴν πέτραν .
et descendit pluvia , et venerunt flumina , et flaverunt venti , et irruerunt in domum illam , et non cecidit : fundata enim erat super petram .
ዘንሙ ዝናማት ወውኅዙ ወኀይዝት ወነፍሑ ነፋሳት ወገፍዕዎ ለውእቱ ቤት ወኢወድቀ እስመ ዲበ ኰኵሕ ተሣረረ ።
The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock.
7:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ πᾶς ὁ ἀκούων μου τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ μὴ ποιῶν αὐτοὺς ὁμοιωθήσεται ἀνδρὶ μωρῷ , ὅστις ᾠκοδόμησεν αὐτοῦ τὴν οἰκίαν ἐπὶ τὴν ἄμμον .
Et omnis qui audit verba mea haec , et non facit ea , similis erit viro stulto , qui aedificavit domum suam super arenam :
ወኵሉ ዘይሰምዕ ዘንተ ቃልየ ወኢይገብሮ ይመስል ብእሴ አብደ ዘሐነጸ ቤቶ ዲበ ኆፃ ።
Everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
7:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ κατέβη ἡ βροχὴ καὶ ἦλθον οἱ ποταμοὶ καὶ ἔπνευσαν οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ προσέκοψαν τῇ οἰκίᾳ ἐκείνῃ , καὶ ἔπεσεν , καὶ ἦν ἡ πτῶσις αὐτῆς μεγάλη .
et descendit pluvia , et venerunt flumina , et flaverunt venti , et irruerunt in domum illam , et cecidit , et fuit ruina illius magna .
ዘንሙ ዝናማት ወውኅዙ ወኀይዝት ወነፍሑ ነፋሳት ወገፍዕዎ ለውእቱ ቤት ወወድቀ ወኮነ ድቀቱ ዐቢየ ።
The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell—and its fall was great.”
7:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοὺς λόγους τούτους ἐξεπλήσσοντο οἱ ὄχλοι ἐπὶ τῇ διδαχῇ αὐτοῦ ·
Et factum est : cum consummasset Jesus verba haec , admirabantur turbae super doctrina ejus .
ወሶበ ፈጸመ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዘንተ ነገረ ተደሙ አሕዛብ ወአንከሩ ምህሮቶ ።
When Jesus had finished saying these things, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching,
7:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἦν γὰρ διδάσκων αὐτοὺς ὡς ἐξουσίαν ἔχων καὶ οὐχ ὡς οἱ γραμματεῖς αὐτῶν .
Erat enim docens eos sicut potestatem habens , et non sicut scribae eorum , et pharisaei .
እስመ ከመ መኰንን ይሜህሮሙ ወአኮ ከመ ጸሐፍቶሙ ።
for he taught them with authority, and not like the scribes.
