8:1
Καταβάντι δὲ αὐτῷ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄρους ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ ὄχλοι πολλοί.
Cum autem descendisset de monte, secutae sunt eum turbae multae :
ወእንዘ ይወርድ እምደብር ተለውዎ ሰብእ ብዙኃን።
When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
8:2
καὶ ἰδοὺ λεπρὸς προσελθὼν προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγων, κύριε, ἐὰν θέλῃς δύνασαί με καθαρίσαι.
et ecce leprosus veniens, adorabat eum, dicens : Domine, si vis, potes me mundare.
ወናሁ መጽአ አሐዱ ብእሲ ዘለምጽ ወቀርበ ኀቤሁ ወሰገደ ሎቱ እንዘ ይብል እግዚኦ እመሰ ፈቀድከ ትክል አንጽሖትየ።
Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”
8:3
καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἥψατο αὐτοῦ λέγων, θέλω, καθαρίσθητι· καὶ εὐθέως ἐκαθερίσθη αὐτοῦ ἡ λέπρα.
Et extendens Jesus manum, tetigit eum, dicens : Volo : mundare. Et confestim mundata est lepra ejus.
ወሰፍሐ እዴሁ ወገሠሦ ወይቤሎ እፈቅድ ንጻሕ ወነጽሐ እምለምጹ በጊዜሃ።
Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
8:4
καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, ὅρα μηδενὶ εἴπῃς, ἀλλὰ ὕπαγε σεαυτὸν δεῖξον τῷ ἱερεῖ, καὶ προσένεγκον τὸ δῶρον ὃ προσέταξεν Μωϋσῆς, εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς.
Et ait illi Jesus : Vide, nemini dixeris : sed vade, ostende te sacerdoti, et offer munus, quod praecepit Moyses, in testimonium illis.
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ዑቅ ኢትንግር ወኢለመኑሂ ወባሕቱ ሑር ወአፍትን ርእሰከ ለካህን ወአብእ መባአከ በእንተ ዘነጻሕከ በከመ አዘዘ ሙሴ ከመ ይኩን ስምዐ ላዕሌሆሙ።
Jesus said to him, “See that you tell nobody; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
8:5
Εἰσελθόντος δὲ αὐτοῦ εἰς Καφαρναοὺμ προσῆλθεν αὐτῷ ἑκατοντάρχης παρακαλῶν αὐτὸν
Cum autem introisset Capharnaum, accessit ad eum centurio, rogans eum,
ወበዊኦ ቅፍርናሆም መጽአ ኀቤሁ መስፍነ ምእት።
When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him for help,
8:6
καὶ λέγων, κύριε, ὁ παῖς μου βέβληται ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ παραλυτικός, δεινῶς βασανιζόμενος.
et dicens : Domine, puer meus jacet in domo paralyticus, et male torquetur.
ወይቤሎ እግዚኦ ብቍዐኒ ድዉይ ወልድየ ወይሰክብ ውስተ ቤት ወመፃጕዕ ወጥቀ ጽዑር።
saying, “Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.”
8:7
λέγει αὐτῷ· ἐγὼ ἐλθὼν θεραπεύσω αὐτόν.
Et ait illi Jesus : Ego veniam, et curabo eum.
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ነየ እመጽእ አነ ወእፌውሶ።
Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
8:8
ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ἑκατοντάρχης ἔφη· κύριε, οὐκ εἰμὶ ἱκανὸς ἵνα μου ὑπὸ τὴν στέγην εἰσέλθῃς· ἀλλὰ μόνον εἰπὲ λόγῳ, καὶ ἰαθήσεται ὁ παῖς μου.
Et respondens centurio, ait : Domine, non sum dignus ut intres sub tectum meum : sed tantum dic verbo, et sanabitur puer meus.
ወአውሥአ ሐቤ ምእት ወይቤ እግዚኦ ኢይደልወኒ ከመ አንተ ትባእ ታሕተ ጠፈረ ቤትየ ዳእሙ አዝዝ በቃልከ ወየሐዩ ወልድየ።
The centurion answered, “Lord, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
8:9
καὶ γὰρ ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπός εἰμι ὑπὸ ἐξουσίαν, ἔχων ὑπ’ ἐμαυτὸν στρατιώτας, καὶ λέγω τούτῳ, πορεύθητι, καὶ πορεύεται, καὶ ἄλλῳ, ἔρχου, καὶ ἔρχεται, καὶ τῷ δούλῳ μου, ποίησον τοῦτο, καὶ ποιεῖ.
Nam et ego homo sum sub potestate constitutus, habens sub me milites, et dico huic : Vade, et vadit : et alii : Veni, et venit : et servo meo : Fac hoc, et facit.
እስመ አነሂ ብእሲ መኰንን አነ ወብየ ሐራ ዘእኴንን ወእብሎ ለዝ ሑር ወየሐውር ወለካልኡኒ ነዓ ወይመጽእ ወለገብርየኒ ግበር ከመዝ ወይገብር።
For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and tell another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and tell my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
8:10
ἀκούσας δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐθαύμασεν καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς ἀκολουθοῦσιν, ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐδὲ ἐν τῷ Ἰσραὴλ τοσαύτην πίστιν εὗρον.
Audiens autem Jesus miratus est, et sequentibus se dixit : Amen dico vobis, non inveni tantam fidem in Israël.
ወሰሚዖ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አንከረ ወተመዪጦ ይቤሎሙ ለእለ ይተልውዎ አማን እብለክሙ ኢረከብኩ ከመዝ ዘየአምን በውስተ ኵሉ እስራኤል።
When Jesus heard it, he marveled and said to those who followed, “Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Israel.
8:11
λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι πολλοὶ ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν καὶ δυσμῶν ἥξουσιν καὶ ἀνακλιθήσονται μετὰ Ἀβραὰμ καὶ Ἰσαὰκ καὶ Ἰακὼβ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν·
Dico autem vobis, quod multi ab oriente et occidente venient, et recumbent cum Abraham, et Isaac, et Jacob in regno caelorum :
ወባሕቱ እብለክሙ ብዙኃን ይመጽኡ እምሥራቅ ወእምዕራብ ወይረፍቁ ውስተ ሕፅነ አብርሃም ይስሐቅ ወያዕቆብ በመንግሥተ ሰማያት።
I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven,
8:12
οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ τῆς βασιλείας ἐξελεύσονται εἰς τὸ σκότος τὸ ἐξώτερον· ἐκεῖ ἔσται ὁ κλαυθμὸς καὶ ὁ βρυγμὸς τῶν ὀδόντων.
filii autem regni ejicientur in tenebras exteriores : ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium.
ወለውሉደ መንግሥትሰ ያወፅእዎሙ ውስተ ጸናፌ ጽልመት ኀበ ሀሎ ብካይ ወሐቅየ ስነን።
but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
8:13
καὶ εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τῷ ἑκατοντάρχῃ, ὕπαγε, ὡς ἐπίστευσας γενηθήτω σοι. καὶ ἰάθη ὁ παῖς ἐν τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐκείνῃ.
Et dixit Jesus centurioni : Vade, et sicut credidisti, fiat tibi. Et sanatus est puer in illa hora.
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለውእቱ ሐቤ ምእት ሑርኬ ወበከመ ተአመንከ ይኩንከ ወሐይወ ወልዱ በይእቲ ሰዓት ወገቢኦ መስፍን ውስተ ቤቱ ረከቦ ለቍልዔሁ ሐዪዎ።
Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed.” His servant was healed in that hour.
8:14
Καὶ ἐλθὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν Πέτρου εἶδεν τὴν πενθερὰν αὐτοῦ βεβλημένην καὶ πυρέσσουσαν·
Et cum venisset Jesus in domum Petri, vidit socrum ejus jacentem, et febricitantem :
ወበዊኦ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ቤቶ ለጴጥሮስ ረከባ ለሐማተ ጴጥሮስ እንዘ ትሰክብ ወትፈፅን።
When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever.
8:15
καὶ ἥψατο τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῆς, καὶ ἀφῆκεν αὐτὴν ὁ πυρετός· καὶ ἠγέρθη καὶ διηκόνει αὐτῷ.
et tetigit manum ejus, et dimisit eam febris, et surrexit, et ministrabat eis.
ወገሠሣ ወአኀዛ እዴሃ ወኀደጋ ፈፀንታ ወተንሥአት ወተልእከቶሙ።
He touched her hand, and the fever left her. So she got up and served him.
8:16
ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης προσήνεγκαν αὐτῷ δαιμονιζομένους πολλούς· καὶ ἐξέβαλεν τὰ πνεύματα λόγῳ, καὶ πάντας τοὺς κακῶς ἔχοντας ἐθεράπευσεν·
Vespere autem facto, obtulerunt ei multos daemonia habentes : et ejiciebat spiritus verbo, et omnes male habentes curavit :
ወምሴተ ከዊኖ አምጽኡ ኀቤሁ ብዙኃነ እለ አጋንንት ወአውፅኦሙ ለመናፍስት በቃሉ ወፈወሰ ኵሎ ድዉያነ።
When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
8:17
ὅπως πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ Ἡσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος· αὐτὸς τὰς ἀσθενείας ἡμῶν ἔλαβεν καὶ τὰς νόσους ἐβάστασεν.
ut adimpleretur quod dictum est per Isaiam prophetam, dicentem : Ipse infirmitates nostras accepit : et aegrotationes nostras portavit.
ከመ ይትፈጸም ቃለ ኢሳይያስ ነቢይ ዘይቤ «ውእቱ ነሥአ ደዌነ ወጾረ ሕማመነ።»
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, “He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.”
8:18
Ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς πολλοὺς ὄχλους περὶ αὐτὸν ἐκέλευσεν ἀπελθεῖν εἰς τὸ πέραν.
Videns autem Jesus turbas multas circum se, jussit ire trans fretum.
ወሶበ ርእየ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ብዙኃነ ሰብአ ዘተለውዎ አዘዘ ከመ ይሑሩ ማዕዶተ ባሕር።
Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.
8:19
καὶ προσελθὼν εἷς γραμματεὺς εἶπεν αὐτῷ, διδάσκαλε, ἀκολουθήσω σοι ὅπου ἐὰν ἀπέρχῃ.
Et accedens unus scriba, ait illi : Magister, sequar te, quocumque ieris.
ወመጽአ ኀቤሁ አሐዱ ጸሓፊ ወይቤሎ ሊቅ እትሉከኑ ኀበ ሖርከ።
A scribe came and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
8:20
καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, αἱ ἀλώπεκες φωλεοὺς ἔχουσιν καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κατασκηνώσεις, ὁ δὲ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου οὐκ ἔχει ποῦ τὴν κεφαλὴν κλίνῃ.
Et dicit ei Jesus : Vulpes foveas habent, et volucres caeli nidos ; Filius autem hominis non habet ubi caput reclinet.
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለቈናጽልኒ ግበብ ቦሙ ወለአዕዋፈ ሰማይኒ ምጽላል ቦሙ ወለወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያውሰ አልቦቱ ኀበ ያሰምክ ርእሶ።
Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”
8:21
ἕτερος δὲ τῶν μαθητῶν εἶπεν αὐτῷ, κύριε, ἐπίτρεψόν μοι πρῶτον ἀπελθεῖν καὶ θάψαι τὸν πατέρα μου.
Alius autem de discipulis ejus ait illi : Domine, permitte me primum ire, et sepelire patrem meum.
ወይቤሎ ካልእ እምአርዳኢሁ እግዚኦ አብሐኒ ቅድመ እሑር ወእቅብሮ ለአቡየ።
Another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”
8:22
ὁ δὲ λέγει αὐτῷ, ἀκολούθει μοι, καὶ ἄφες τοὺς νεκροὺς θάψαι τοὺς ἑαυτῶν νεκρούς.
Jesus autem ait illi : Sequere me, et dimitte mortuos sepelire mortuos suos.
ወይቤሎ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አንተሰ ትልወኒ ወኅድጎሙ ለምዉታን ይቅብሩ ምዉታኒሆሙ።
But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”
8:23
Καὶ ἐμβάντι αὐτῷ εἰς τὸ πλοῖον ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ.
Et ascendente eo in naviculam, secuti sunt eum discipuli ejus :
ወዐሪጎ ውስተ ሐመር ተለውዎ አርዳኢሁ።
When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him.
8:24
καὶ ἰδοὺ σεισμὸς μέγας ἐγένετο ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ, ὥστε τὸ πλοῖον καλύπτεσθαι ὑπὸ τῶν κυμάτων· αὐτὸς δὲ ἐκάθευδεν.
et ecce motus magnus factus est in mari, ita ut navicula operiretur fluctibus : ipse vero dormiebat.
ወናሁ ዐቢይ ድልቅልቅ ኮነ በውስተ ባሕር እስከ ሶበ ይደፍኖ ለሐመር ማዕበለ ባሕር ወውእቱሰ ይነውም።
Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves; but he was asleep.
8:25
καὶ προσελθόντες ἤγειραν αὐτὸν λέγοντες, κύριε, σῶσον, ἀπολλύμεθα.
Et accesserunt ad eum discipuli ejus, et suscitaverunt eum, dicentes : Domine, salva nos : perimus.
ወቀርቡ አርዳኢሁ ወአንቅህዎ ወይቤልዎ እግዚኦ አድኅነነ ከመ ኢንሙት።
The disciples came to him and woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We are dying!”
8:26
καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· τί δειλοί ἐστε, ὀλιγόπιστοι; τότε ἐγερθεὶς ἐπετίμησεν τοῖς ἀνέμοις καὶ τῇ θαλάσσῃ, καὶ ἐγένετο γαλήνη μεγάλη.
Et dicit eis Jesus : Quid timidi estis, modicae fidei ? Tunc surgens imperavit ventis, et mari, et facta est tranquillitas magna.
ወይቤሎሙ ምንት ያፈርሀክሙ አንትሙ ሕጹጻነ ሃይማኖት ወተንሢኦ ገሠጾሙ ለነፋሳትኒ ወለማዕበለ ባሕር ወኮነ ዐቢይ ዛኅን።
He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.
8:27
οἱ δὲ ἄνθρωποι ἐθαύμασαν λέγοντες, ποταπός ἐστιν οὗτος ὅτι καὶ οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ ἡ θάλασσα αὐτῷ ὑπακούουσιν;
Porro homines mirati sunt, dicentes : Qualis est hic, quia venti et mare obediunt ei ?
ወአንከሩ ሰብእ ወይቤሉ መኑ እንጋ ውእቱ ዝንቱ ዘይትኤዘዙ ሎቱ ባሕርኒ ወነፋሳትኒ።
The men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
8:28
Καὶ ἐλθόντος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ πέραν εἰς τὴν χώραν τῶν Γαδαρηνῶν ὑπήντησαν αὐτῷ δύο δαιμονιζόμενοι ἐκ τῶν μνημείων ἐξερχόμενοι, χαλεποὶ λίαν, ὥστε μὴ ἰσχύειν τινὰ παρελθεῖν διὰ τῆς ὁδοῦ ἐκείνης.
Et cum venisset trans fretum in regionem Gerasenorum, occurrerunt ei duo habentes daemonia, de monumentis exeuntes, saevi nimis, ita ut nemo posset transire per viam illam.
ወበጺሖ ማዕዶተ ብሔረ ጌርጌሴኖን ተቀበልዎ ክልኤቱ እለ አጋንንት ወፂኦሙ እመቃብራት ወእኩያን ጥቀ እሙንቱ ወኢያበውሑ መኑሂ ይኅልፍ እንተ ይእቲ ፍኖት።
When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way.
8:29
καὶ ἰδοὺ ἔκραξαν λέγοντες, τί ἡμῖν καὶ σοί, υἱὲ τοῦ θεοῦ; ἦλθες ὧδε πρὸ καιροῦ βασανίσαι ἡμᾶς;
Et ecce clamaverunt, dicentes : Quid nobis et tibi, Jesu fili Dei ? Venisti huc ante tempus torquere nos ?
ወሶበ ርእይዎ ጸርሑ እንዘ ይብሉ ምንት ብነ ምስሌከ ኢየሱስ ወልደ እግዚአብሔር ሕያው መጻእከኑ ዝየሂ ትስድደነ ወትሣቅየነ ዘእንበለ ይብጻሕ ጊዜሁ።
Behold, they cried out, saying, “What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”
8:30
ἦν δὲ μακρὰν ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ἀγέλη χοίρων πολλῶν βοσκομένη.
Erat autem non longe ab illis grex multorum porcorum pascens.
ወቦ ህየ መራዕየ አሕርው ብዙኅ ይትረዐዩ ርኁቀ እምኔሆሙ።
Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.
8:31
οἱ δὲ δαίμονες παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν λέγοντες, εἰ ἐκβάλλεις ἡμᾶς, ἀπόστειλον ἡμᾶς εἰς τὴν ἀγέλην τῶν χοίρων.
Daemones autem rogabant eum, dicentes : Si ejicis nos hinc, mitte nos in gregem porcorum.
ወአስተብቍዕዎ እሙንቱ አጋንንት ወይቤልዎ እመሰ ታወፅአነ ፈንወነ ከመ ንባእ ዲበ መራዕየ አሕርው።
The demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs.”
8:32
καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, ὑπάγετε. οἱ δὲ ἐξελθόντες ἀπῆλθον εἰς τοὺς χοίρους· καὶ ἰδοὺ ὥρμησεν πᾶσα ἡ ἀγέλη κατὰ τοῦ κρημνοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν, καὶ ἀπέθανον ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν.
Et ait illis : Ite. At illi exeuntes abierunt in porcos, et ecce impetu abiit totus grex per praeceps in mare : et mortui sunt in aquis.
ወይቤሎሙ ሑሩ ወወፂኦሙ ሖሩ ወቦኡ ውስተ አሕርው ወአብዱ ኵሉ መራዕየ አሕርው ወሮጹ ወጸድፉ ውስተ ባሕር ወሞቱ ውስተ ማይ።
He said to them, “Go!” They came out and went into the herd of pigs; and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea and died in the water.
8:33
οἱ δὲ βόσκοντες ἔφυγον, καὶ ἀπελθόντες εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἀπήγγειλαν πάντα καὶ τὰ τῶν δαιμονιζομένων.
Pastores autem fugerunt : et venientes in civitatem, nuntiaverunt omnia, et de eis qui daemonia habuerant.
ወጐዩ ኖሎት ወአተዉ ሀገረ ወዜነዉ ለሰብእ ኵሎ ዘኮነ ወበእንተ እለ አጋንንትሂ።
Those who fed them fled and went away into the city and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.
8:34
καὶ ἰδοὺ πᾶσα ἡ πόλις ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ὑπάντησιν τοῦ Ἰησοῦ, καὶ ἰδόντες αὐτὸν παρεκάλεσαν ὅπως μεταβῇ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων αὐτῶν.
Et ecce tota civitas exiit obviam Jesu : et viso eo, rogabant ut transiret a finibus eorum.
ወናሁ ወፅኡ ኵሉ እለ ውስተ ሀገር ይትቀበልዎ ለእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወሶበ ርእይዎ አስተብቍዕዎ ይኅልፍ እምደወሎሙ።
Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders.
