5:1
וְאַתָּ֞ה בֵּֽית־לֶ֣חֶם אֶפְרָ֗תָה צָעִיר֙ לִֽהְיוֹת֙ בְּאַלְפֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה מִמְּךָ֙ לִ֣י יֵצֵ֔א לִֽהְי֥וֹת מוֹשֵׁ֖ל בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּמוֹצָאֹתָ֥יו מִקֶּ֖דֶם מִימֵ֥י עוֹלָֽם׃
καὶ σύ Βηθλεεμ οἶκος τοῦ Εφραθα ὀλιγοστὸς εἶ τοῦ εἶναι ἐν χιλιάσιν Ιουδα ἐκ σοῦ μοι ἐξελεύσεται τοῦ εἶναι εἰς ἄρχοντα ἐν τῷ Ισραηλ καὶ αἱ ἔξοδοι αὐτοῦ ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς ἐξ ἡμερῶν αἰῶνος
Nunc vastaberis, filia latronis. Obsidionem posuerunt super nos : in virga percutient maxillam judicis Israël.
ናሁ፡ ይእዜ፡ የዐግትዋ፡ ለመለተ፡ ጽዩን፡ ወየሐጽርዋ፡ በበትር፡ ይዘብጡክሙ፡ ውስተ፡ መላትሒክሙ፡ ህዝበ፡ እስራኤል።
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me who is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.
5:2
לָכֵ֣ן יִתְּנֵ֔ם עַד־עֵ֥ת יוֹלֵדָ֖ה יָלָ֑דָה וְיֶ֣תֶר אֶחָ֔יו יְשׁוּב֖וּן עַל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
διὰ τοῦτο δώσει αὐτοὺς ἕως καιροῦ τικτούσης τέξεται καὶ οἱ ἐπίλοιποι τῶν ἀδελφῶν αὐτῶν ἐπιστρέψουσιν ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ
Et tu, Bethlehem Ephrata, parvulus es in millibus Juda ; ex te mihi egredietur qui sit dominator in Israël, et egressus ejus ab initio, a diebus aeternitatis.
ወአንቲኒ፡ ቤተልሄም፡ መድረ፡ ኤፍራ፡ ውሕድ፡ አንቲ፡ ከመ፡ ትኪኒ፡ አእላፈ፡ ይሁዳ፡ እምኔኪ፡ ይወፅእ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ወፍናዊሁኒ፡ ዘእምፍጥረተ፡ ዐለም።
Therefore he will abandon them until the time that she who is in labor gives birth. Then the rest of his brothers will return to the children of Israel.
5:3
וְעָמַ֗ד וְרָעָה֙ בְּעֹ֣ז יְהֹוָ֔ה בִּגְא֕וֹן שֵׁ֖ם יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֑יו וְיָשָׁ֕בוּ כִּֽי־עַתָּ֥ה יִגְדַּ֖ל עַד־אַפְסֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃
καὶ στήσεται καὶ ὄψεται καὶ ποιμανεῖ τὸ ποίμνιον αὐτοῦ ἐν ἰσχύι κυρίου καὶ ἐν τῇ δόξῃ τοῦ ὀνόματος κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτῶν ὑπάρξουσιν διότι νῦν μεγαλυνθήσεται ἕως ἄκρων τῆς γῆς
Propter hoc dabit eos usque ad tempus in quo parturiens pariet, et reliquiae fratrum ejus convertentur ad filios Israël.
በእንተ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ትሁቦሙ፡ እስከ፡ ጊዜ፡ ትውልድ፡ ትውልድ፡ ወእለ፡ ተርፋ፡ አኃዊሆሙ፡ ይትመየጡ፡ ኀበ፡ ደቂቀ፡ እስራኤል።
He shall stand, and shall shepherd in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God. They will live, for then he will be great to the ends of the earth.
5:4
וְהָיָ֥ה זֶ֖ה שָׁל֑וֹם אַשּׁ֣וּר׀ כִּֽי־יָב֣וֹא בְאַרְצֵ֗נוּ וְכִ֤י יִדְרֹךְ֙ בְּאַרְמְנוֹתֵ֔ינוּ וַהֲקֵמֹ֤נוּ עָלָיו֙ שִׁבְעָ֣ה רֹעִ֔ים וּשְׁמֹנָ֖ה נְסִיכֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃
καὶ ἔσται αὕτη εἰρήνη ὅταν Ἀσσύριος ἐπέλθῃ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν καὶ ὅταν ἐπιβῇ ἐπὶ τὴν χώραν ὑμῶν καὶ ἐπεγερθήσονται ἐπ’ αὐτὸν ἑπτὰ ποιμένες καὶ ὀκτὼ δήγματα ἀνθρώπων
Et stabit, et pascet in fortitudine Domini, in sublimitate nominis Domini Dei sui : et convertentur, quia nunc magnificabitur usque ad terminos terrae.
ወይቀውም፡ ወይሬዔቶ፡ በኃይለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወበስብሐተ፡ ስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አምላኮሙ፡ ይሄልው፡ እስመ፡ አጽናፈ፡ ምድር።
He will be our peace when Assyria invades our land and when he marches through our fortresses, then we will raise against him seven shepherds, and eight leaders of men.
5:5
וְרָע֞וּ אֶת־אֶ֤רֶץ אַשּׁוּר֙ בַּחֶ֔רֶב וְאֶת־אֶ֥רֶץ נִמְרֹ֖ד בִּפְתָחֶ֑יהָ וְהִצִּיל֙ מֵֽאַשּׁ֔וּר כִּֽי־יָב֣וֹא בְאַרְצֵ֔נוּ וְכִ֥י יִדְרֹ֖ךְ בִּגְבוּלֵֽנוּ׃ {פ}
καὶ ποιμανοῦσιν τὸν Ασσουρ ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ καὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Νεβρωδ ἐν τῇ τάφρῳ αὐτῆς καὶ ῥύσεται ἐκ τοῦ Ασσουρ ὅταν ἐπέλθῃ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν καὶ ὅταν ἐπιβῇ ἐπὶ τὰ ὅρια ὑμῶν
Et erit iste pax : cum venerit Assyrius in terram nostram, et quando calcaverit domibus nostris, et suscitabimus super eum septem pastores et octo primates homines ;
ወትከውን፡ ዛ፡ ሰላም፡ አመ፡ መጽኡ፡ ፋርስ፡ ውስተ፡ ምድርክሙ፡ ወአመ፡ ዕጉ፡ ውስተ፡ ብሔርክ፡ ወይትንስኡ
They will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in its gates. He will deliver us from the Assyrian, when he invades our land, and when he marches within our border.
5:6
וְהָיָ֣ה׀ שְׁאֵרִ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֗ב בְּקֶ֙רֶב֙ עַמִּ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים כְּטַל֙ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהֹוָ֔ה כִּרְבִיבִ֖ים עֲלֵי־עֵ֑שֶׂב אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־יְקַוֶּה֙ לְאִ֔ישׁ וְלֹ֥א יְיַחֵ֖ל לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔσται τὸ ὑπόλειμμα τοῦ Ιακωβ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ἐν μέσῳ λαῶν πολλῶν ὡς δρόσος παρὰ κυρίου πίπτουσα καὶ ὡς ἄρνες ἐπὶ ἄγρωστιν ὅπως μὴ συναχθῇ μηδεὶς μηδὲ ὑποστῇ ἐν υἱοῖς ἀνθρώπων
et pascent terram Assur in gladio, et terram Nemrod in lanceis ejus, et liberabit ab Assur cum venerit in terram nostram, et cum calcaverit in finibus nostris.
ወይርእይዎ፡ ለአሶር፡ በኩናት፡ ዋላምድረ፡ ነምሮድ፡ በውስተ፡ ኀዝአቱ፡ ወይድኃን፡ እምአሶር፡ እመ፡ መጽአ፡ ውስተ፡ ብሔርክሙ፡ ወአመ፡ ዐርገ፡ ውስተ፡ አድባሪክሙ።
The remnant of Jacob will be among many peoples like dew from Yahweh, like showers on the grass, that don’t wait for man nor wait for the sons of men.
5:7
וְהָיָה֩ שְׁאֵרִ֨ית יַעֲקֹ֜ב בַּגּוֹיִ֗ם בְּקֶ֙רֶב֙ עַמִּ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים כְּאַרְיֵה֙ בְּבַהֲמ֣וֹת יַ֔עַר כִּכְפִ֖יר בְּעֶדְרֵי־צֹ֑אן אֲשֶׁ֧ר אִם־עָבַ֛ר וְרָמַ֥ס וְטָרַ֖ף וְאֵ֥ין מַצִּֽיל׃
καὶ ἔσται τὸ ὑπόλειμμα τοῦ Ιακωβ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ἐν μέσῳ λαῶν πολλῶν ὡς λέων ἐν κτήνεσιν ἐν τῷ δρυμῷ καὶ ὡς σκύμνος ἐν ποιμνίοις προβάτων ὃν τρόπον ὅταν διέλθῃ καὶ διαστείλας ἁρπάσῃ καὶ μὴ ᾖ ὁ ἐξαιρούμενος
Et erunt reliquiae Jacob in medio populorum multorum quasi ros a Domino, et quasi stillae super herbam, quae non exspectat virum, et non praestolatur filios hominum.
ወይከውን፡ ተረፈ፡ ያእቆብ፡ ውስተ፡ አሕዛብ፡ በማእከለ፡ ብዙኃን፡ ህዝብ፡ ከመ፡ ጠል፡ ዘይወርድ፡ እምኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወከመ፡ አባግዕ፡ ውስተ፡ ተሐግ፡ ከመ፡ ኢይትጋባአ፡ ዋኢአሐዱ፡ ወኢይቀውም፡ ውስተ፡ ዳቂቀ፡ እጓለ፡ እመሕያው።
The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, among many peoples, like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep; who, if he goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is no one to deliver.
5:8
תָּרֹ֥ם יָדְךָ֖ עַל־צָרֶ֑יךָ וְכׇל־אֹיְבֶ֖יךָ יִכָּרֵֽתוּ׃
ὑψωθήσεται ἡ χείρ σου ἐπὶ τοὺς θλίβοντάς σε καὶ πάντες οἱ ἐχθροί σου ἐξολεθρευθήσονται
Et erunt reliquiae Jacob in gentibus, in medio populorum multorum, quasi leo in jumentis silvarum, et quasi catulus leonis in gregibus pecorum, qui cum transierit, et conculcaverit, et ceperit, non est qui eruat.
ወይከውን፡ ተረፈ፡ ያዕቆብ፡ ማእከለ፡ ብዙኃን፡ አሕዛብ፡ ከመ፡ አንበሳ፡ ውስተ፡ እንስሳ፡ በገዳም፡ ወከመ፡ እጓለ፡ አንበሳ፡ ውስተ፡ መርዔተ፡ አባግዕ፡ ከመ፡ ሶበ፡ ይመጽእ፡ ወይሰርር፡ ወይመስጥ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘያነግፎ።
Let your hand be lifted up above your adversaries, and let all of your enemies be cut off.
5:9
וְהָיָ֤ה בַיּוֹם־הַהוּא֙ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י סוּסֶ֖יךָ מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ וְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֖י מַרְכְּבֹתֶֽיךָ׃
καὶ ἔσται ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ λέγει κύριος ἐξολεθρεύσω τοὺς ἵππους σου ἐκ μέσου σου καὶ ἀπολῶ τὰ ἅρματά σου
Exaltabitur manus tua super hostes tuos, et omnes inimici tui interibunt.
ከማኁ፡ ትትሌዐል፡ እዴከ፡ ዲበ፡ እለ፡ ይሣቅከ፡ ወይሴረው፡ ኰሎሙ፡ ፀረከ።
“It will happen in that day”, says Yahweh, “that I will cut off your horses from among you and will destroy your chariots.
5:10
וְהִכְרַתִּ֖י עָרֵ֣י אַרְצֶ֑ךָ וְהָרַסְתִּ֖י כׇּל־מִבְצָרֶֽיךָ׃
καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω τὰς πόλεις τῆς γῆς σου καὶ ἐξαρῶ πάντα τὰ ὀχυρώματά σου
Et erit in die illa, dicit Dominus : auferam equos tuos de medio tui, et disperdam quadrigas tuas.
ወይከውን፡ ይእቲ፡ ኣሚረ፡ ይቤ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ እሴርዎሙ፡ ለአፍራሲከ፡ በማእከልከ፡ ወአጠፍእ፡ ሠረገላከ።
I will cut off the cities of your land and will tear down all your strongholds.
5:11
וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י כְשָׁפִ֖ים מִיָּדֶ֑ךָ וּֽמְעוֹנְנִ֖ים לֹ֥א יִֽהְיוּ־לָֽךְ׃
καὶ ἐξαρῶ τὰ φάρμακά σου ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν σου καὶ ἀποφθεγγόμενοι οὐκ ἔσονται ἐν σοί
Et perdam civitates terrae tuae, et destruam omnes munitiones tuas : et auferam maleficia de manu tua, et divinationes non erunt in te :
ወእሤርዎን፡ ለአህጉረ፡ ብሔርከ፡ ወአንኅ፡ ኮሎ፡ አጽዋኒከ።
I will destroy witchcraft from your hand. You shall have no soothsayers.
5:12
וְהִכְרַתִּ֧י פְסִילֶ֛יךָ וּמַצֵּבוֹתֶ֖יךָ מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ וְלֹא־תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֥ה ע֖וֹד לְמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה יָדֶֽיךָ׃
καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω τὰ γλυπτά σου καὶ τὰς στήλας σου ἐκ μέσου σου καὶ οὐκέτι μὴ προσκυνήσῃς τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν σου
et perire faciam sculptilia tua et statuas tuas de medio tui, et non adorabis ultra opera manuum tuarum :
ወእስዕር፡ ኮሎ፡ ስራያቲከ፡ እምእደዊክ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘይትዋሳእ፡ ላከ።
I will cut off your engraved images and your pillars from among you; and you shall no more worship the work of your hands.
5:13
וְנָתַשְׁתִּ֥י אֲשֵׁירֶ֖יךָ מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ וְהִשְׁמַדְתִּ֖י עָרֶֽיךָ׃
καὶ ἐκκόψω τὰ ἄλση σου ἐκ μέσου σου καὶ ἀφανιῶ τὰς πόλεις σου
et evellam lucos tuos de medio tui, et conteram civitates tuas.
ወእሤሩ፡ ግልፎከ፡ ወአምሳሊከ፡ እማእከልከ፡ ወኢትሰግድ፡ እንከ፡ ግብረ፡ እደዊከ።
I will uproot your Asherah poles from among you; and I will destroy your cities.
5:14
וְעָשִׂ֜יתִי בְּאַ֧ף וּבְחֵמָ֛ה נָקָ֖ם אֶת־הַגּוֹיִ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֖ר לֹ֥א שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃ {פ}
καὶ ποιήσω ἐν ὀργῇ καὶ ἐν θυμῷ ἐκδίκησιν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ἀνθ’ ὧν οὐκ εἰσήκουσαν
Et faciam, in furore et in indignatione, ultionem in omnibus gentibus quae non audierunt.
ወእገዝም፡ ምህራማቲከ፡ እማእከልከ፡ ወአጠፍኦን፡ ለአህጉሪከ።
I will execute vengeance in anger and wrath on the nations that didn’t listen.”
5:15———
ወእገብር፡ በቀለ፡ ውስተ፡ አህዛብ፡ በመዐትየ፡ ወበመቅሠፍትየ፡ እስመ፡ ኢሰምኡ።
