Psalms 27 — 4 originals side by side

Versification differs between traditions. Columns are aligned by verse number; where a text has no such verse the cell is left blank rather than forced into line. Tap any word for a gloss.

⚠️ The Chinese and English alongside are the CUV and the WEB, both translated from the Masoretic Text; they follow a different textual tradition from the Greek and Latin shown here and will disagree in places.

27:1
Psalmus David, priusquam liniretur. Dominus illuminatio mea et salus mea : quem timebo ? Dominus protector vitae meae : a quo trepidabo ?
—
Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?
27:2
Dum appropiant super me nocentes ut edant carnes meas, qui tribulant me inimici mei, ipsi infirmati sunt et ceciderunt.
—
When evildoers came at me to eat up my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.
27:3

Si consistant adversum me castra, non timebit cor meum ; si exsurgat adversum me praelium, in hoc ego sperabo.

One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple.
27:5

In petra exaltavit me, et nunc exaltavit caput meum super inimicos meos. Circuivi, et immolavi in tabernaculo ejus hostiam vociferationis ; cantabo, et psalmum dicam Domino.
