12:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ σημεῖον μέγα ὤφθη ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ , γυνὴ περιβεβλημένη τὸν ἥλιον , καὶ ἡ σελήνη ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν αὐτῆς , καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτῆς στέφανος ἀστέρων δώδεκα ,
Et signum magnum apparuit in caelo : mulier amicta sole , et luna sub pedibus ejus , et in capite ejus corona stellarum duodecim :
ወአስተርአየ ተኣምር ዐቢይ በውስተ ሰማይ ብእሲት እንተ ትለብስ ፀሓየ ወወርኅ ታሕተ እገሪሃ ወዲበ ርእሳኒ አክሊል ዘዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ ከዋክብት ።
A great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
12:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσα , καὶ κράζει ὠδίνουσα καὶ βασανιζομένη τεκεῖν .
et in utero habens , clamabat parturiens , et cruciabatur ut pariat .
ወፅንስት ይእቲ ብእሲት ወትግዕር ወተሐምም ለወሊድ ።
She was with child. She cried out in pain, laboring to give birth.
12:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὤφθη ἄλλο σημεῖον ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ , καὶ ἰδοὺ δράκων πυρρός μέγας , ἔχων κεφαλὰς ἑπτὰ καὶ κέρατα δέκα καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτοῦ ἑπτὰ διαδήματα ,
Et visum est aliud signum in caelo : et ecce draco magnus rufus habens capita septem , et cornua decem : et in capitibus ejus diademata septem ,
ወአስተርአየ ካልእ ተኣምር በውስተ ሰማይ አርዌ ዐቢይ ወቀይሕ ዘሰብዐቱ አርእስቲሁ ወዐሠርቱ አቅርንቲሁ ወውስተ አርእስቲሁ ሰብዐቱ ቀጸላ ።
Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns.
12:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἡ οὐρὰ αὐτοῦ σύρει τὸ τρίτον τῶν ἀστέρων τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἔβαλεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γῆν . καὶ ὁ δράκων ἕστηκεν ἐνώπιον τῆς γυναικὸς τῆς μελλούσης τεκεῖν , ἵνα ὅταν τέκῃ τὸ τέκνον αὐτῆς καταφάγῃ .
et cauda ejus trahebat tertiam partem stellarum caeli , et misit eas in terram : et draco stetit ante mulierem , quae erat paritura , ut cum peperisset , filium ejus devoraret .
ወበዘነቡ ይስሕብ ሣልስተ እዴሆሙ ለከዋክብተ ሰማይ ወያወርዶሙ ውስተ ምድር ወቆመ ውእቱ አርዌ አንጻረ ይእቲ ብእሲት ከመ ሶበ ወለደት ይብላዕ ሕፃና ።
His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.
12:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἕτεκεν υἱόν ἄρσεν , ὃς μέλλει ποιμαίνειν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐν ῥάβδῳ σιδηρᾷ · καὶ ἡρπάσθη τὸ τέκνον αὐτῆς πρὸς τὸν θεὸν καὶ πρὸς τὸν θρόνον αὐτοῦ .
Et peperit filium masculum , qui recturus erat omnes gentes in virga ferrea : et raptus est filius ejus ad Deum , et ad thronum ejus ,
ወወለደት ወልደ ተባዕተ ዘውእቱ ይርዕዮሙ ለኵሉ አሕዛብ በበትረ ኀጺን ወመሠጥዎ ለውእቱ ሕፃን ወወሰድዎ ኀበ እግዚአብሔር ወኀበ መንበሩ ።
She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to God and to his throne.
12:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἡ γυνὴ ἔφυγεν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον , ὅπου ἔχει ἐκεῖ τόπον ἡτοιμασμένον ἀπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ , ἵνα ἐκεῖ τρέφουσιν αὐτὴν ἡμέρας χιλίας διακοσίας ἑξήκοντα .
et mulier fugit in solitudinem ubi habebat locum paratum a Deo , ut ibi pascant eam diebus mille ducentis sexaginta .
ወጐየት ይእቲ ብእሲት ውስተ ገዳም ወውስተ መካን ዘአስተዳለወ ላቲ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ትትዐቀብ በህየ በኵሉ መዋዕል ዐሠርተ ወክልኤተ ምእተ ወስሳ ዕለተ ።
The woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that there they may nourish her one thousand two hundred sixty days.
12:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐγένετο πόλεμος ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ , ὁ Μιχαὴλ καὶ οἱ ἄγγελοι αὐτοῦ πολεμῆσαι μετὰ τοῦ δράκοντος . καὶ ὁ δράκων ἐπολέμησεν καὶ οἱ ἄγγελοι αὐτοῦ ,
Et factum est praelium magnum in caelo : Michaël et angeli ejus praeliabantur cum dracone , et draco pugnabat , et angeli ejus :
ወጸብእዎ በሰማይ ለውእቱ አርዌ ሚካኤል ወመላእክቲሁ ወተጻብኦሙ ውእቱ አርዌ ምስለ መላእክቲሁ ።
There was war in the sky. Michael and his angels made war on the dragon. The dragon and his angels made war.
12:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐκ ἴσχυσαν , οὐδὲ τόπος εὑρέθη αὐτῶν ἔτι ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ .
et non valuerunt , neque locus inventus est eorum amplius in caelo .
ወስእኖሙ ወኢረከበ እንከ መካነ በውስተ ሰማይ ።
They didn’t prevail. No place was found for them any more in heaven.
12:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐβλήθη ὁ δράκων ὁ μέγας , ὁ ὄφις ὁ ἀρχαῖος , ὁ καλούμενος διάβολος καὶ ὁ Σατανᾶς , ὁ πλανῶν τὴν οἰκουμένην ὅλην , ἐβλήθη εἰς τὴν γῆν , καὶ οἱ ἄγγελοι αὐτοῦ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ἐβλήθησαν .
Et projectus est draco ille magnus , serpens antiquus , qui vocatur diabolus , et Satanas , qui seducit universum orbem : et projectus est in terram , et angeli ejus cum illo missi sunt .
ወወድቀ ውስተ ምድር ውእቱ አርዌ ዐቢይ ወአርዌሰ ዐቢይ ውእቱ ቀዲሙ ዘአስሐቶ ለኵሉ ዓለም ዘስሙ ሰይጣን ወወድቀ ውስተ ምድር ወመላእክቲሁኒ ወድቁ ምስሌሁ ውስተ ምድር ።
The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
12:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἤκουσα φωνὴν μεγάλην ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ λέγουσαν , ἄρτι ἐγένετο ἡ σωτηρία καὶ ἡ δύναμις καὶ ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν καὶ ἡ ἐξουσία τοῦ Χριστοῦ αὐτοῦ , ὅτι ἐβλήθη ὁ κατήγωρ τῶν ἀδελφῶν ἡμῶν , ὁ κατηγορῶν αὐτοὺς ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός .
Et audivi vocem magnam in caelo dicentem : Nunc facta est salus , et virtus , et regnum Dei nostri , et potestas Christi ejus : quia projectus est accusator fratrum nostrorum , qui accusabat illos ante conspectum Dei nostri die ac nocte .
ወሰማዕኩ ቃለ ዐቢየ በውስተ ሰማይ ዘይብል ኮነት መድኀኒት ወኀይል ወመንግሥት ለአምላክነ ወሥልጣን ለመሲሑ እስመ ወድቀ መስተዋድይ ዘአስተዋደዮሙ ለአበዊነ ቅድመ እግዚአብሔር መዐልተ ወሌሊተ ።
I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.
12:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐνίκησαν αὐτὸν διὰ τὸ αἷμα τοῦ ἀρνίου καὶ διὰ τὸν λόγον τῆς μαρτυρίας αὐτῶν , καὶ οὐκ ἠγάπησαν τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτῶν ἄχρι θανάτου .
Et ipsi vicerunt eum propter sanguinem Agni , et propter verbum testimonii sui , et non dilexerunt animas suas usque ad mortem .
ወሞእዎ እሙንቱ በእንተ ደመ በግዑ ወበእንተ ቃለ ጽድቆሙ እስመ ኢያብደሩ ነፍሶሙ እስከ ለሞት ።
They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death.
12:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ διὰ τοῦτο εὐφραίνεσθε , οὐρανοὶ καὶ οἱ ἐν αὐτοῖς σκηνοῦντες · οὐαὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν , ὅτι κατέβη ὁ διάβολος πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἔχων θυμὸν μέγαν , εἰδὼς ὅτι ὀλίγον καιρὸν ἔχει .
Propterea laetamini caeli , et qui habitatis in eis . Vae terrae , et mari , quia descendit diabolus ad vos habens iram magnam , sciens quod modicum tempus habet .
ወበእንቲኣሆሙ ተፈሥሑ ሰማያት ወእለ ይነብሩ ውስቴቶን አሌ ላ ለምድር ወለባሕር እስመ ወረደ ሰይጣን ውስቴቶሙ ምስለ ዐቢይ ሕምዙ እስመ የአምር ከመ ውኁድ መዋዕል ተርፎ ።
Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.”
12:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ὅτε εἶδεν ὁ δράκων ὅτι ἐβλήθη εἰς τὴν γῆν , ἐδίωξεν τὴν γυναῖκα ἥτις ἔτεκεν τὸν ἄρσενα .
Et postquam vidit draco quod projectus esset in terram , persecutus est mulierem , quae peperit masculum :
ወሶበ ርእየ ዝክቱ አርዌ ከመ ወድቀ ውስተ ምድር ዴገና ለእንታክቲ ብእሲት እንተ ወለደት ሕፃነ ተባዕተ ።
When the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.
12:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐδόθησαν τῇ γυναικὶ αἱ δύο πτέρυγες τοῦ ἀετοῦ τοῦ μεγάλου , ἵνα πέτηται εἰς τὴν ἔρημον εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτῆς , ὅπου τρέφεται ἐκεῖ καιρὸν καὶ καιροὺς καὶ ἥμισυ καιροῦ ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ ὄφεως .
et datae sunt mulieri alae duae aquilae magnae ut volaret in desertum in locum suum , ubi alitur per tempus et tempora , et dimidium temporis a facie serpentis .
ወተውህባ ለይእቲ ብእሲት ክልኤ ክንፍ ከመ ዘዐቢይ ንስር ከመ ትሥርር ውስተ ገዳም ወውስተ መካን ኀበ ትትዐቀብ በኵሉ መዋዕል ዘመነ ወአዝማነ ወመንፈቀ ዘመን እምቅድመ ገጹ ለውእቱ አርዌ ወሠረረ ወዴገና ውእቱ አርዌ ።
Two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, so that she might be nourished for a time, times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
12:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἔβαλεν ὁ ὄφις ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ ὀπίσω τῆς γυναικὸς ὕδωρ ὡς ποταμόν , ἵνα αὐτὴν ποταμοφόρητον ποιήσῃ .
Et misit serpens ex ore suo post mulierem , aquam tamquam flumen , ut eam faceret trahi a flumine .
ወአውፅአ እምነ አፉሁ ውእቱ አርዌ ማየ ብዙኀ እንተ ድኅሬሃ ለይእቲ ብእሲት ከመ ፈለግ ዐቢይ ከመ ይንሥኣ ውኂዙ ።
The serpent spewed water out of his mouth after the woman like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.
12:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐβοήθησεν ἡ γῆ τῇ γυναικί , καὶ ἤνοιξεν ἡ γῆ τὸ στόμα αὐτῆς καὶ κατέπιεν τὸν ποταμὸν ὃν ἔβαλεν ὁ δράκων ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ .
Et adjuvit terra mulierem , et aperuit terra os suum , et absorbuit flumen , quod misit draco de ore suo .
ወረድአታ ምድር ለይእቲ ብእሲት ወአርኀወት አፉሃ ምድር ወሰረበቶ ለውእቱ ውኂዝ ዘአውኀዘ ውእቱ አርዌ እምነ አፉሁ ወኢያእመረ ከመ ተውህበ ላቲ ክንፍ ።
The earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon spewed out of his mouth.
12:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὠργίσθη ὁ δράκων ἐπὶ τῇ γυναικί , καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ποιῆσαι πόλεμον μετὰ τῶν λοιπῶν τοῦ σπέρματος αὐτῆς , τῶν τηρούντων τὰς ἐντολὰς τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐχόντων τὴν μαρτυρίαν Ἰησοῦ · Καὶ ἐστάθην ἐπὶ τὴν ἄμμον τῆς θαλάσσης .
Et iratus est draco in mulierem : et abiit facere praelium cum reliquis de semine ejus , qui custodiunt mandata Dei , et habent testimonium Jesu Christi .
ወተምዐ ውእቱ አርዌ ላዕለ ይእቲ ብእሲት ወሖረ ይጽብኦሙ ለእለ ተርፉ ውሉዳ ወለእለ የዐቅቡ ትእዛዘ እግዚአብሔር ወይሄልዉ በጽድቁ ለኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ።
The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony.
12:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ — Et stetit supra arenam maris .
ወቆመ ውእቱ አርዌ ላዕለ ኆፃ ባሕር ።
The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony.
