13:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ εἶδον ἐκ τῆς θαλάσσης θηρίον ἀναβαῖνον , ἔχον κέρατα δέκα καὶ κεφαλὰς ἑπτά , καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν κεράτων αὐτοῦ δέκα διαδήματα , καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτοῦ ὀνόματα βλασφημίας .
Et vidi de mari bestiam ascendentem habentem capita septem , et cornua decem , et super cornua ejus decem diademata , et super capita ejus nomina blasphemiae .
ወወፅአ ካልእ አርዌ እምነ ባሕር ዘዐሠርቱ አቅርንቲሁ ወሰብዐቱ አርእስቲሁ ወውስተ አቅርንቲሁ ዐሠርቱ ቀጸላ ወውስተ አርእስቲሁ ስመ ፅርፈት ።
Then I stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. On his horns were ten crowns, and on his heads, blasphemous names.
13:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τὸ θηρίον ὃ εἶδον ἦν ὅμοιον παρδάλει , καὶ οἱ πόδες αὐτοῦ ὡς ἄρκου , καὶ τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ ὡς στόμα λεόντων · καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ ὁ δράκων τὴν δύναμιν αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸν θρόνον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξουσίαν μεγάλην .
Et bestia , quam vidi , similis erat pardo , et pedes ejus sicut pedes ursi , et os ejus sicut os leonis . Et dedit illi draco virtutem suam , et potestatem magnam .
ወይመስል ውእቱ አርዌ ነምረ ወእገሪሁ ከመ ድብ ወአፉሁ ከመ አንበሳ ወወሀቦ ዝክቱ አርዌ ቀዳማዊ ኀይሎ ወመንበሮ ወዕበየ ሥልጣኑ ።
The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.
13:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ μίαν ἐκ τῶν κεφαλῶν αὐτοῦ ὡς ἐσφαγμένην εἰς θάνατον , καὶ ἡ πληγὴ τοῦ θανάτου αὐτοῦ ἐθεραπεύθη . καὶ ἐθαύμασεν ὅλη ἡ γῆ ὀπίσω τοῦ θηρίου ,
Et vidi unum de capitibus suis quasi occisum in mortem : et plaga mortis ejus curata est . Et admirata est universa terra post bestiam .
ወአሐቲ እምነ አርእስቲሁ እንተ ተረግዘት በሞት ወቍስለ ሞቱሰ ሐይወ ወአንከረቶ ኵላ ምድር ወተለውዎ ለውእቱ አርዌ ።
One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast.
13:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ προσεκύνησαν τῷ δράκοντι ὅτι ἔδωκεν τὴν ἐξουσίαν τῷ θηρίῳ , καὶ προσεκύνησαν τῷ θηρίῳ λέγοντες , τίς ὅμοιος τῷ θηρίῳ , καὶ τίς δύναται πολεμῆσαι μετ’ αὐτοῦ ;
Et adoraverunt draconem , qui dedit potestatem bestiae : et adoraverunt bestiam , dicentes : Quis similis bestiae ? et quis poterit pugnare cum ea ?
ወሰገዱ ሎቱ ለዝክቱ አርዌ ቀዳማዊ እስመ ወሀቦ ለዝንቱ አርዌ ሥልጣኖ ወሰገዱ ሎቱ ለውእቱ አርዌ እንዘ ይብሉ መኑ ይመስሎ ለዝንቱ አርዌ ወመኑ ይክል ጸቢኦቶ ።
They worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
13:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ στόμα λαλοῦν μεγάλα καὶ βλασφημίας , καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ ἐξουσία ποιῆσαι μῆνας τεσσεράκοντα δύο .
Et datum est ei os loquens magna et blasphemias : et data est ei potestas facere menses quadraginta duos .
ወተውህበ ሎቱ አፍ ከመ ይንብብ ዐቢያተ ወፅርፈታተ ወተውህበ ሎቱ ሥልጣን ይግበር ተአምረ ዘፈቀደ አርብዓ ወልክኤተ አውራኀ ።
A mouth speaking great things and blasphemy was given to him. Authority to make war for forty-two months was given to him.
13:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἤνοιξεν τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ εἰς βλασφημίας πρὸς τὸν θεόν , βλασφημῆσαι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν σκηνὴν αὐτοῦ , τοὺς ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ σκηνοῦντας .
Et aperuit os suum in blasphemias ad Deum , blasphemare nomen ejus , et tabernaculum ejus , et eos qui in caelo habitant .
ወእምዝ ፈትሐ አፉሁ ከመ ይፅርፍ ላዕለ እግዚአብሔር ወላዕለ ስሙ ወላዕለ ጽርሐ መቅደሱ ዘበሰማይ ።
He opened his mouth for blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, his dwelling, and those who dwell in heaven.
13:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ ποιῆσαι πόλεμον μετὰ τῶν ἁγίων καὶ νικῆσαι αὐτούς , καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ ἐξουσία ἐπὶ πᾶσαν φυλὴν καὶ λαὸν καὶ γλῶσσαν καὶ ἔθνος .
Et est datum illi bellum facere cum sanctis , et vincere eos . Et data est illi potestas in omnem tribum , et populum , et linguam , et gentem ,
ወተውህቦ ከመ ይግበር ጸብአ ምስለ ቅዱሳን ወይማኦሙ ወተውህቦ ሥልጣን ላዕለ ኵሉ አሕዛብ ወሕዝብ ወበሓውርት ወነገድ ።
It was given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him.
13:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ προσκυνήσουσιν αὐτὸν πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς , οὗ οὐ γέγραπται τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τῆς ζωῆς τοῦ ἀρνίου τοῦ ἐσφαγμένου ἀπὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου .
et adoraverunt eam omnes , qui inhabitant terram : quorum non sunt scripta nomina in libro vitae Agni , qui occisus est ab origine mundi .
ወሰገዱ ሎቱ ኵሎሙ እለ ይነብሩ ዲበ ምድር እለ ኢኮኑ ጽሑፋነ አስማቲሆሙ ውስተ መጽሐፈ ሕይወት ዘበግዑ ዘተቀትለ ዘእምፍጥረተ ዓለም ።
All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed.
13:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἴ τις ἔχει οὖς ἀκουσάτω .
Si quis habet aurem , audiat .
ዘቦ እዝን ሰሚዐ ለይስማዕ ፤
If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
13:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ εἴ τις εἰς αἰχμαλωσίαν , εἰς αἰχμαλωσίαν ὑπάγει · εἴ τις ἐν μαχαίρῃ ἀποκτενεῖ , δεῖ αὐτὸν ἐν μαχαίρῃ ἀποκτανθῆναι . ὧδέ ἐστιν ἡ ὑπομονὴ καὶ ἡ πίστις τῶν ἁγίων .
Qui in captivitatem duxerit , in captivitatem vadet : qui in gladio occiderit , oportet eum gladio occidi . Hic est patientia , et fides sanctorum .
ወተፄወወኒ ኅሊናየ ወዘሰ ቀተለ በመጥባሕት ሀለዎ ይሙት በመጥባሕት ወዝየ ውእቱ ትዕግሥቶሙ ወሃይማኖቶሙ ለቅዱሳን ብፅዕት ወኢአንክሮቱ ለሰይጣን ።
If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.
13:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ εἶδον ἄλλο θηρίον ἀναβαῖνον ἐκ τῆς γῆς , καὶ εἶχεν κέρατα δύο ὅμοια ἀρνίῳ , καὶ ἐλάλει ὡς δράκων .
Et vidi aliam bestiam ascendentem de terra , et habebat cornua duo similia Agni , et loquebatur sicut draco .
ወእምዝ ወፅአ ካልእ አርዌ እምነ ምድር ዘክልኤቱ አቅርንቲሁ ወይመስል ከመ በግዕ ወይነብብ ከመ አርዌ ።
I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon.
13:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τὴν ἐξουσίαν τοῦ πρώτου θηρίου πᾶσαν ποιεῖ ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ . καὶ ποιεῖ τὴν γῆν καὶ τοὺς ἐν αὐτῇ κατοικοῦντας ἵνα προσκυνήσουσιν τὸ θηρίον τὸ πρῶτον , οὗ ἐθεραπεύθη ἡ πληγὴ τοῦ θανάτου αὐτοῦ .
Et potestatem prioris bestiae omnem faciebat in conspectu ejus : et fecit terram , et habitantes in ea , adorare bestiam primam , cujus curata est plaga mortis .
ወበሥልጣኑ ለቀዳማዊ አርዌ ይገብር ኵሎ በቅድሜሁ ወይሬስያ ለምድር ወለእለሂ ይነብሩ ውስቴታ ይስግዱ ሎቱ ለቀዳማዊ አርዌ ዘሐይወ እምቍስለ ሞቱ ።
He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed.
13:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ποιεῖ σημεῖα μεγάλα , ἵνα καὶ πῦρ ποιῇ καταβαίνειν ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ εἰς τὴν γῆν ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀνθρώπων .
Et fecit signa magna , ut etiam ignem faceret de caelo descendere in terram in conspectu hominum .
ወይገብር ተአምራተ ዐበይተ ከመ ያውርድ እምሰማይ እሳተ ውስተ ምድር በቅድመ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ።
He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people.
13:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ πλανᾷ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς διὰ τὰ σημεῖα ἃ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ ποιῆσαι ἐνώπιον τοῦ θηρίου , λέγων τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ποιῆσαι εἰκόνα τῷ θηρίῳ ὃς ἔχει τὴν πληγὴν τῆς μαχαίρης καὶ ἔζησεν .
Et seduxit habitantes in terra propter signa , quae data sunt illi facere in conspectu bestiae , dicens habitantibus in terra , ut faciant imaginem bestiae , quae habet plagam gladii , et vixit .
ወያስሕቶሙ ለእለ ይነብሩ ዲበ ምድር በእንተ ተኣምር ዘተውህበ ሎቱ ይግበር በቅድመ ውእቱ አርዌ ወይቤሎሙ ለእለ ይነብሩ ውስተ ምድር ከመ ይግበሩ አምሳሎ ለዝንቱ አርዌ ዘቈስለ በመጥባሕት ወሐይወ ።
He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.
13:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ δοῦναι πνεῦμα τῇ εἰκόνι τοῦ θηρίου , ἵνα καὶ λαλήσῃ ἡ εἰκὼν τοῦ θηρίου καὶ ποιήσῃ ὅσοι ἐὰν μὴ προσκυνήσουσιν τῇ εἰκόνι τοῦ θηρίου ἀποκτανθῶσιν .
Et datum est illi ut daret spiritum imagini bestiae , et ut loquatur imago bestiae : et faciat ut quicumque non adoraverint imaginem bestiae , occidantur .
ወተውህበ ሎቱ ይደይ ውስቴቱ መንፈሰ ለአምሳለ ዝንቱ አርዌ ከመ ይንብብ ምስሉ ለውእቱ አርዌ ወገብሮሙ ለኵሎሙ እለ ኢሰገዱ ለአምሳለ ዝንቱ አርዌ ከመ ይሙቱ ።
It was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn’t worship the image of the beast to be killed.
13:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ποιεῖ πάντας , τοὺς μικροὺς καὶ τοὺς μεγάλους , καὶ τοὺς πλουσίους καὶ τοὺς πτωχούς , καὶ τοὺς ἐλευθέρους καὶ τοὺς δούλους , ἵνα δῶσιν αὐτοῖς χάραγμα ἐπὶ τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῶν τῆς δεξιᾶς ἢ ἐπὶ τὸ μέτωπον αὐτῶν ,
Et faciet omnes pusillos , et magnos , et divites , et pauperes , et liberos , et servos habere caracterem in dextera manu sua , aut in frontibus suis :
ወይገብር ኵሉ ንኡሱ ወዐቢዩ አብዕልት ወነዳያን አግብርት ወአግዓዝያን ከመ ይጽሐፉ ውስተ እደዊሆሙ እንተ የማን ወእመ አኮ ውስተ ፍጽሞሙ ።
He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands or on their foreheads;
13:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἵνα μή τις δύνηται ἀγοράσαι ἢ πωλῆσαι εἰ μὴ ὁ ἔχων τὸ χάραγμα , τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ θηρίου ἢ τὸν ἀριθμὸν τοῦ ὀνόματος αὐτοῦ .
et nequis possit emere , aut vendere , nisi qui habet caracterem , aut nomen bestiae , aut numerum nominis ejus .
ወከመ አልቦ ዘይክል ሠዪጠ ወተሣይጦ እንበለ እለ ጽሑፋን እሙንቱ ትእምርተ ስሙ ለውእቱ አርዌ አው ዘኍልቈ ስሙ ።
and that no one would be able to buy or to sell unless he has that mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
13:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὧδε ἡ σοφία ἐστίν · ὁ ἔχων νοῦν ψηφισάτω τὸν ἀριθμὸν τοῦ θηρίου , ἀριθμὸς γὰρ ἀνθρώπου ἐστίν · καὶ ὁ ἀριθμὸς αὐτοῦ χξϛʹ .
Hic sapientia est . Qui habet intellectum , computet numerum bestiae . Numerus enim hominis est : et numerus ejus sexcenti sexaginta sex .
ወዘሰ ጠቢብ ውእቱ ወዘቦ ልብ የአምር ኍላቌሁ ለውእቱ አርዌ እስመ አምጣነ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ውእቱ ወኍላቌሁኒ ስድስቱ ምእት ወስሳ ወስድስቱ ።
Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six.
