μὴ περὶ τούτων αἰσχυνθῇς καὶ μὴ λάβῃς πρόσωπον τοῦ ἁμαρτάνειν
Non duplices sermonem auditus de revelatione sermonis absconditi : et eris vere sine confusione, et invenies gratiam in conspectu omnium hominum. Ne pro his omnibus confundaris, et ne accipias personam ut delinquas :
እንበይነ፡ ዝንቱሰ፡ ባሕቱ፡ ኢትኅፈር፡ ወኢታድልው፡ ለገጸ፡ ሰብእ፡ ከመ፡ ጌጋየ፡ ኢይኩንከ።
Of these things be not ashamed, And accept no man’s person to sin thereby:
42:2
περὶ νόμου ὑψίστου καὶ διαθήκης καὶ περὶ κρίματος δικαιῶσαι τὸν ἀσεβῆ
de lege Altissimi, et testamento, et de judicio justificare impium,
በእንተ፡ ሕጉ፡ ለልዑል፡ ወበእንተ፡ ሕርመትከ፡ ወበእንተ፡ ፍትሕኒ፡ ከመ፡ ኢታንጽሖ፡ ለጊጉይ።
Of the law of the Most High, and his covenant; And of judgement to do justice to the ungodly;
42:3
περὶ λόγου κοινωνοῦ καὶ ὁδοιπόρων καὶ περὶ δόσεως κληρονομίας ἑταίρων
de verbo sociorum et viatorum, et de datione hæreditatis amicorum,
ወሶበኒ፡ ትትሓሰብ፡ ምስለ፡ ሱታፌከ፡ በእንተ፡ ተግባርከ፡ በእንተኒ፡ ሤጥ፡ ወበእንተኒ፡ ርስትከ።
Of reckoning with a partner and with travellers; And of a gift from the heritage of friends;
42:4
περὶ ἀκριβείας ζυγοῦ καὶ σταθμίων καὶ περὶ κτήσεως πολλῶν καὶ ὀλίγων
de æqualitate stateræ et ponderum, de acquisitione multorum et paucorum,
በእንተ፡ መዳልውኒ፡ ወበእንተ፡ መስፈርት፡ ወእንበይነ፡ ጥሪትከ፡ እመኒ፡ ውኁድ፡ ወእመኒ፡ ብዙኅ።
Of exactness of balance and weights; And of getting much or little;
42:5
περὶ διαφόρου πράσεως ἐμπόρων καὶ περὶ παιδείας τέκνων πολλῆς καὶ οἰκέτῃ πονηρῷ πλευρὰν αἱμάξαι
de corruptione emptionis et negotiatorum, et de multa disciplina filiorum, et servo pessimo latus sanguinare.
በእንተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ዘይረብሐከ፡ ወዘይበቊዐከ፡ በእንተ፡ ምህሮቶሙ፡ ለውሉድከ፡ ለገብር፡ እኩይ፡ ሥትሮ፡ ገበዋቲሁ።
Of indifferent selling of merchants; And of much correction of children; And of making the side of an evil servant to bleed.
42:6
ἐπὶ γυναικὶ πονηρᾷ καλὸν σφραγίς καὶ ὅπου χεῖρες πολλαί κλεῖσον
Super mulierem nequam bonum est signum.
ሠናይ፡ ኀቲም፡ ላዕለ፡ ብእሲት፡ እኪት፡ ወኀበ፡ ብዙኅ፡ በዋኢቱ፡ በመዝግሕ፡ አንብር።
Sure keeping is good, where an evil wife is; And where many hands are, shut you close.
42:7
ὃ ἐὰν παραδιδῷς ἐν ἀριθμῷ καὶ σταθμῷ καὶ δόσις καὶ λῆμψις πάντα ἐν γραφῇ
Ubi manus multæ sunt, claude : et quodcumque trades, numera et appende : datum vero et acceptum omne describe.
ኵሎ፡ ዘገበርከ፡ በኈልቊ፡ ወበመስፈርት፡ ወበመዳልው፡ ግበር፡ ወኵሉ፡ ዘአባእከ፡ ወአውፃእከ፡ ወዘወሀብከ፡ ወነሣእከ፡ በመጽሐፍ፡ ይኩንከ።
Whatsoever you handest over, let it be by number and weight; And in giving and receiving let all be in writing.
42:8
περὶ παιδείας ἀνοήτου καὶ μωροῦ καὶ ἐσχατογήρως κρινομένου πρὸς νέους καὶ ἔσῃ πεπαιδευμένος ἀληθινῶς καὶ δεδοκιμασμένος ἔναντι παντὸς ζῶντος
De disciplina insensati et fatui, et de senioribus qui judicantur ab adolescentibus : et eris eruditus in omnibus, et probabilis in conspectu omnium vivorum.
ወበእንተ፡ ገሥጾቱ፡ ለአብድ፡ ወለዘ፡ አልቦ፡ ልብ፡ ወለአረጋዊኒ፡ ዘበርሥአቱ፡ ይተሉ፡ ዝሙት፡ ወትከውን፡ በአማን፡ ጠቢበ፡ ወማእምረ፡ በኀበ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሰብእ።
Be not ashamed to instruct the unwise and foolish, And one of extreme old age that contends with those that are young; And so shall you be well instructed indeed, And approved in the sight of every man living.
42:9
θυγάτηρ πατρὶ ἀπόκρυφος ἀγρυπνία καὶ ἡ μέριμνα αὐτῆς ἀφιστᾷ ὕπνον ἐν νεότητι αὐτῆς μήποτε παρακμάσῃ καὶ συνῳκηκυῖα μήποτε μισηθῇ
Filia patris abscondita est vigilia, et sollicitudo ejus aufert somnum : ne forte in adolescentia sua adulta efficiatur, et cum viro commorata odibilis fiat :
ወለትሰ፡ ትጋህ፡ ኅቡእ፡ ይእቲ፡ ለአቡሃ፡ ወኀልዮታ፡ ያሰርሮ፡ ለንዋሙ፡ እምንእሳ፡ እስከ፡ አመ፡ ትልኅቅ፡ እንበለ፡ ትፍተው።
A daughter is a secret cause of wakefulness to a father; And the care for her puts away sleep; In her youth, lest she pass the flower of her age; And when she is married, lest she should be hated:
42:10
ἐν παρθενίᾳ μήποτε βεβηλωθῇ καὶ ἐν τοῖς πατρικοῖς αὐτῆς ἔγκυος γένηται μετὰ ἀνδρὸς οὖσα μήποτε παραβῇ καὶ συνῳκηκυῖα μήποτε στειρωθῇ
nequando polluatur in virginitate sua, et in paternis suis gravida inveniatur : ne forte cum viro commorata transgrediatur, aut certe sterilis efficiatur.

In her virginity, lest she should be defiled And be with child in her father’s house; And when she has a husband, lest she should transgress; And when she is married, lest she should be barren.
42:11
ἐπὶ θυγατρὶ ἀδιατρέπτῳ στερέωσον φυλακήν μήποτε ποιήσῃ σε ἐπίχαρμα ἐχθροῖς λαλιὰν ἐν πόλει καὶ ἔκκλητον λαοῦ καὶ καταισχύνῃ σε ἐν πλήθει πολλῶν
Super filiam luxuriosam confirma custodiam, nequando faciat te in opprobrium venire inimicis, a detractione in civitate, et objectione plebis, et confundat te in multitudine populi.
ለወለት፡ እንተ፡ ኢትኅፍር፡ አጽንዕ፡ ዐቂቦታ፡ ከመ፡ ኢትረሲከ፡ ስላተ፡ ጸላኢከ፡ ወ[ነገረ]፡ ለማኅፈርከ፡ ወለማኅበረ፡ ሕዝብከ፡ ከመ፡ ኢታስተኀፍር፡ በማእከለ፡ ብዙኃን።
Keep a strict watch over a headstrong daughter, Lest she make you a laughing stock to your enemies, A byword in the city and notorious among the people, And shame you before the multitude.
42:12
παντὶ ἀνθρώπῳ μὴ ἔμβλεπε ἐν κάλλει καὶ ἐν μέσῳ γυναικῶν μὴ συνέδρευε
Omni homini noli intendere in specie, et in medio mulierum noli commorari :
ኢታድሉ፡ ለኵሉ፡ ሰብእ፡ እንበይነ፡ ላሕዩ፡ ወኢትባእ፡ ማእከለ፡ አንስት።
Look not upon every body in regard of beauty, And sit not in the midst of women;
42:13
ἀπὸ γὰρ ἱματίων ἐκπορεύεται σὴς καὶ ἀπὸ γυναικὸς πονηρία γυναικός
de vestimentis enim procedit tinea, et a muliere iniquitas viri.
እምነ፡ ልብስ፡ ይወፅእ፡ ቊንቊኔ፡ ወእመነ፡ አንስት፡ ኵሉ፡ እኪት።
For from garments comes a moth, And from a woman a woman’s wickedness.
42:14
κρείσσων πονηρία ἀνδρὸς ἢ ἀγαθοποιὸς γυνή καὶ γυνὴ καταισχύνουσα εἰς ὀνειδισμόν
Melior est enim iniquitas viri quam mulier benefaciens, et mulier confundens in opprobrium.
ይኄይስ፡ እከይሁ፡ ለብእሲ፡ እምነ፡ ኂሩታ፡ ለብእሲት፡ ብእሲትኒ፡ እንተ፡ ታስተቃንእ፡ ኀፍረት፡ ይእቲ።
Better is the wickedness of a man than a pleasant-dealing woman, And a woman which puts you to shameful reproach.
42:15
μνησθήσομαι δὴ τὰ ἔργα κυρίου καὶ ἃ ἑόρακα ἐκδιηγήσομαι ἐν λόγοις κυρίου τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ
Memor ero igitur operum Domini, et quæ vidi annuntiabo. In sermonibus Domini opera ejus.
ወእዜከር፡ ግብሮ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወእነግር፡ ዘርኢኩ፡ እስመ፡ በቃሉ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ኵሉ፡ ግብሩ።
I will make mention now of the works of the Lord, And will declare the things that I have seen: In the words of the Lord are his works.
42:16
ἥλιος φωτίζων κατὰ πᾶν ἐπέβλεψεν καὶ τῆς δόξης κυρίου πλῆρες τὸ ἔργον αὐτοῦ
Sol illuminans per omnia respexit, et gloria Domini plenum est opus ejus.
ፀሓይኒ፡ ያበርህ፡ ወያርኢ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ ወስብሐቲሁ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ምሉእ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ ግብሩ።
The sun that gives light looks upon all things; And the work of the Lord is full of his glory.
42:17
οὐκ ἐξεποίησεν τοῖς ἁγίοις κυρίου ἐκδιηγήσασθαι πάντα τὰ θαυμάσια αὐτοῦ ἃ ἐστερέωσεν κύριος ὁ παντοκράτωρ στηριχθῆναι ἐν δόξῃ αὐτοῦ τὸ πᾶν
Nonne Dominus fecit sanctos enarrare omnia mirabilia sua, quæ confirmavit Dominus omnipotens stabiliri in gloria sua ?
ወኢገብረኑ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለቅዱሳኑ፡ ከመ፡ ይንግሩ፡ ኵሎ፡ ስብሐቲሁ፡ ዘአጽንዐ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘኵሎ፡ ይመልክ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ጽንዕ፡ በስብሐቲሁ።
The Lord has not given power to the saints to declare all his marvelous works; Which the Almighty Lord firmly settled, That whatever is might be established in his glory.
42:18
ἄβυσσον καὶ καρδίαν ἐξίχνευσεν καὶ ἐν πανουργεύμασιν αὐτῶν διενοήθη ἔγνω γὰρ ὁ ὕψιστος πᾶσαν εἴδησιν καὶ ἐνέβλεψεν εἰς σημεῖον αἰῶνος
Abyssum et cor hominum investigavit, et in astutia eorum excogitavit.
ለቀላይኒ፡ ወለልብኒ፡ ይረክቦሙ፡ አሠሮሙ፡ ወያአምሮሙ፡ ምክሮሙ፡ ወያአምር፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኵሎ፡ ኅሊና፡ ልብ፡ ወርእየ፡ ትእምርቶ፡ ለዓለም።
He searcheth out the deep, and the heart, And he has understanding of their cunning plans: For the Most High knows all knowledge, And he looks into the signs of the world,
42:19
ἀπαγγέλλων τὰ παρεληλυθότα καὶ τὰ ἐσόμενα καὶ ἀποκαλύπτων ἴχνη ἀποκρύφων
Cognovit enim Dominus omnem scientiam, et inspexit in signum ævi, annuntians quæ præterierunt et quæ superventura sunt, revelans vestigia occultorum.
ወዘኒ፡ ኀለፈ፡ ወዘኒ፡ ይመጽእ፡ ውእቱ፡ ይዜኑ፡ ወይከሥት፡ አሠረ፡ ዘኅቡእ።
Declaring the things that are past, and the things that shall be, And revealing the traces of hidden things.
42:20
οὐ παρῆλθεν αὐτὸν πᾶν διανόημα οὐκ ἐκρύβη ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ εἷς λόγος
Non præterit illum omnis cogitatus, et non abscondit se ab eo ullus sermo.
ወአልቦ፡ ዘያመሥ[ጦ]፡ እምነ፡ ኵሉ፡ ምክር፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘይሴውሮ፡ እምነ፡ ኵሉ፡ ወኢአሐ[ቲ]ኒ፡(ቃል፡)፡ ።
No thought escapes him; There is not a word hid from him.
42:21
τὰ μεγαλεῖα τῆς σοφίας αὐτοῦ ἐκόσμησεν ὡς ἔστιν πρὸ τοῦ αἰῶνος καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα οὔτε προσετέθη οὔτε ἠλαττώθη καὶ οὐ προσεδεήθη οὐδενὸς συμβούλου
Magnalia sapientiæ suæ decoravit, qui est ante sæculum et usque in sæculum : neque adjectum est,
ወአሰርገ[ወ]፡ ዕበ[ያ]፡ ለጥበቢሁ፡ እንተ፡ ይእቲ፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ይትፈጠር፡ ዓለም፡ ወለዓለምኒ፡ ትሄሉ፡ ኢሂ፡ ትትዌሰክ፡ ወኢሂ፡ ተሐጽጽ፡ ወኢፈቀደ፡ ወኢአሐደ፡ መምከረ።
The mighty works of his wisdom he has ordered, Who is from everlasting to everlasting: Nothing has been added to them, nor diminished from them; And he had no need of any counsellor.
42:22
ὡς πάντα τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ ἐπιθυμητὰ καὶ ὡς σπινθῆρός ἐστιν θεωρῆσαι
neque minuitur, et non eget alicujus consilio.
ወክሉ፡ ግብሩ፡ ሠነይ፡ ወመፍትው፡ ወከመ፡ ብርሀን፡ ውእቱ፡ ለርእይ።
How desirable are all his works! One may behold this even to a spark.
42:23
πάντα ταῦτα ζῇ καὶ μένει εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἐν πάσαις χρείαις καὶ πάντα ὑπακούει
Quam desiderabilia omnia opera ejus ! et tamquam scintilla quæ est considerare !
ወኵሉ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ሕያው፡ ወይሄሉ፡ ለዓለም፡ ወይሰምዕ፡ በኵሉ፡ ዘፈቀዱ።
All these things live and remain forever in all manner of uses, And they are all obedient.
42:24
πάντα δισσά ἓν κατέναντι τοῦ ἑνός καὶ οὐκ ἐποίησεν οὐδὲν ἐλλεῖπον
Omnia hæc vivunt, et manent in sæculum, et in omni necessitate omnia obaudiunt ei.
ወኵሉ፡ ምክዕቢተ፡ ፩፩ቅድመ፡ ካልኡ፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘገብረ፡ ወኢምንተኒ፡ ዘሕጹጽ።
All things are double one against another: And he has made nothing imperfect.
42:25
ἓν τοῦ ἑνὸς ἐστερέωσεν τὰ ἀγαθά καὶ τίς πλησθήσεται ὁρῶν δόξαν αὐτοῦ
Omnia duplicia, unum contra unum, et non fecit quidquam deesse.
፩ምስለ፡ ካልኡ፡ አስተጻንዖሙ፡ ለሠናይ፡ ወመኑ፡ ዘይጸግብ፡ እምርእየ፡ ሠናይቱ።
One thing establishes the good things of another: And who shall be filled with beholding his glory?
